my precious child 🩷🩷🩷
His meows sound like heartbreak, and he rolls on the rungs to beg for belly rubs. He knows who he should go to when he begs for treats and his little trot to get them is the cutest thing!
His favorite toys are small plush mice and after i throw them down the hall he brings them right back to my room by their tail. he loves to knead pillows, and although he isn't one for cuddling, he loves pets and cannot stand me being in a room with the door closed on him.
He wakes me up in the morning with his sad and very loud meows, but settles down when he notices i'm up and waits patiently for me to get out of bed. he gives me a high five every morning and evening before i feed him and he nuzzles my head when i bend down to get his portion.
He loves watching tv with me and especially loves when i put on cat tv for him. he does prefer looking through the window to see the birds in our yard though! he doesn't know how to chirp properly and it sounds just as pathetic as all the noises he makes.
I love him so much and i know he loves me too :]

the idea of me restarting in hades is so genuinely distressing, and its not the rougelike grind that bothers me because i LIKE rougelikes theyre one of my favourite genres in games, but having to deal with the fact the game acts like it does NOT want you to fucking talk to people or see the npcs you have to see to unlock multiple branches of dialouge and quests is so frutsrating. i got thanatos within about 10 runs and i learnt very quickly i was the outlier within my circle of friends who have played hades because for some of them it took like 30-40 runs to meet one of the MAIN ROMANCABLE CHARACTERS OF THE GAME. THATS A HUGE PROBLEM. BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS LIKE THAT
#and thats not even covering the fact npcs sometimes will just. not speak to you. no reason#or if they have dialouge with someone else you eithetr then cant talk to them at all because theyll just leave or you at the very least cant#give them the special item you get specifically to advance your realtionship with them. and when its withy characters like than#WHO SOMETIMES DO NOT APPEAR FOR MULTIPLE RUNS#it becomes such an agonizing slog to just do the most basic task. this game is a nightmare so much of the time if i didnt love zagreus#i would have dropped it when 1.0 dropped i think#hades posting

Do you have recommendations for shows/books/whatever with canon/basically canon polyamory?
ok the only media w officially canon polyam i personally consumed are Iron Widow and Hades.
Iron Widow is a mecha scifi/chinese fantasy book, it has pacific rim mechanics, so it takes 2 ppl to pilot the mecha but its more dystopian in that the pilot (male) usually drains the life force of his concubine (female). the mc has a guy shes interested in from the start but she pushes him aside to seek her goals to become a concubine pilot (theres a very good reason for this but i dont wanna give too much away) ends up being forced to work w the most dangerous pilot (spoilers hes actually a misunderstood sweetheart and i love him), her first love somehow finds his way back into her life so he can be their ally and its very clear from the first time he meets the other guy that this bitch is bi af. At one point he literslly saves their lives and i wont elaborate on that cause again spoilers but someone mentioned it in a propaganda ask. They canonically fall in live w each other and start dating. Please look up the trigger warnings first cause theres some heavy subjects addressed in this book. The book itself has trigger warnings listed at the start so if u find it at a book store u can check them this was too.
Hades is a roguelike videogame w dating sim mechanics (ish) -you give gifts to characters to learn more about them, and theres two romance options but you can romance both at once, they're both aware of and okay with it, hinting that they mightve had a past even before zagreus was born (its greek gods one is death incarnate the other is one of the furies, they've basically existed since forever)

ive been told Leverage is like the korrasami of polyam, as in they were as polyam as they could be in a show from 2010, so it sounds like its canon but not explicit because they couldnt get away with that.
The girls from Amphibia are apparently in a similar situation, heavily implied canon, someone told me it was confirmed by people who worked on the show, but i dont think its explicitly stated.
The Kane Chronicles apparently also has canon polyam, although its 2 bodies, cause I think one of them has a god in him or something? I never read the books, but I was told Sadie (i think thats her name? The girl) is in love w both of them, and kinda dating both too i think?
I dont know if Singing in the Rain is canon but theres that kiss gif that got prrtty popular on tumblr where kathy kisses one of the guys then the other, so it looks canon? or at least implied canon?
Sense8 as some people have mentioned has 1 officially confirmed to be canon throuple, 1 that has a lot of hints to confirm but a lot of ppl see it as a gay couple w a very supportive friend ig and someone else said in general because of the plot u could kind of see the 8 of them as a big polycule, although that one isnt canon
HoneyWorks/Heroine Tarumono is one of those songs turned novel turned anime. i dont think its confirmed canon but theres a lot of stuff pointing to the possibility, you mightve see @non-fantasy telling me about them in a few asks. im obsessed and ive yet to watch anything
Penumbra Podcast: Second Citadel has Rilla/Sir Damien/Lord Arum, i also haven't listened to this one but a lot of people told me rilla and damien were in a pre-established relstionship, both got crushed on lord arum separately, talked about it and worked things out to now be a canon polycule
im She-Ra (netflix) theres a trio that is implied to be a polycule at the end, a lot of ppl called them canon in the notes but i dont personally ember it being confirmed? i am very forgetful tho. It's Rogelio/Kyle/Lonnie, unfortunately they lost the prelim round

idk if you plan to do any monster mayhem for the staff where reader is there age too but i am having SUCH a brainrot over monster crowley i have to share it
im just imagining hes similar to howls feathery monstrosity form except more Fae more thats his actual true form not a form of magic and he takes on a human form albiet one obvs non human due to the pointed ears and the feathers people swear up and down are in his hair and pn his shoulders like a feathered ruff bc all the shiny things humans have and interesting devices to make life easier!
the man definetely has like 838384 heated blankets for his bedroom that is more a nest than anything else lol and the one day he gets injured in his natural more beastly form and mc come across him and he thinks that this is it this is where he dies bc humans attack what they cant understand due to fear but instead this little human he could crush under his talons like a bug comes up and fusses over him ordering him to not move (as if crowley even could) and then leaves
but they come back with a bunch of medicinal stuff and patches him up and returns every day chattering away aimlessly at him as they changed the bandages and compliment how beautiful and shiny his feathers are and maybe theyre a healer or smth and mention a familar and the next day they come back they have a crow following them feathers glistening brightly in the sun cawing happily at mc and crowley is faced with the realisation that oh no hes become smitten with them at some point
and then once hes healthy again he starts showing up in his humanoid form at mcs little apothecary with random cuts or bruises from tripping or being attacked by stray cats that he totally couldnt have healed himself oh no! and everytime he slyly conpliments them and leaves something shiny they could keep or give their crow familiar or some bundle of rare herbs they mc was having trouble getting
and he just turns down all his admirers (that hed never paid attention to more then for the praise anyway) to instead lavish mc with attention bc theyd seen his true beastly form crowley had secretly been so sure no one could love which led him to indulging so much in his "human" life and had looked after him like he was something beautiful to be cherished and bow MC is like oh no i think im smitten
anyway i dont like crowley i swear i dont okay hes just hes just i DONT hes just pretty i dont like him i swear <- man helplessly in denial
I do indeed love the absolute horror nightmares that could come from Staff Monster Mayhem, and Crowley as some sort of demonic bird monstrosity is Peak. I do have to get a bit better with his personality I think before I dive into anything actual for him, because mostly I just write him as A Nuisance, when in reality he gives me vibes of being A Bigger Nuisance but also... not quite right? Like he's got pointy ears and glowing eyes. There's got to be some sort of weird, fae, bullshit going on with him. And in the words of Patrick Star, gotta 'firmly grasp it.' Because I'm still a bit lost on him
My thought honestly when I was debating something for the Staff was, like, a Mount Olympus sort of setup? Or maybe more specifically like a Hades (the game) sort of situation? With the MC as a sort of stand-in for Zagreus, receiving the guidance and blessing of all these all-powerful, very temperamental and moody, gods.

In my Mall au, the Styx is a conveyor belt that gets Zagreus home.
Charon is a delivery driver who runs errands in the mall, does finance and goes double fast on the conveyor belt using the golf cart

theseus hates zag bc he stuck gum into his long hair
asterius is in a mascot costume. he is in elysium bc thesus felt bad for being mean to him when they were younger and pulled strings to get him in.
theseus doesnt know that asterius cant afford his rent in elysium, and that he has a side job as a mascot as the bull of minos
hypnos is a fan of asterius’ mascot costume
orpheus is the PA dude and in charge of picking spotify mall music. he only plays sad songs
achilles cant get in elysium because you need a visitor’s pass, and there’s no wifi or technology inside. patroclus doesnt know where achilles is, so he cant give him a pass.
achilles is just stuck staring at pat from the outside while pat rambles at the indoor river
asphodel’s temperature is stuck to hot
Eurydice is a food court manager/ has a small restaurant undergoing repairs.
zagreus keeps running through the boarded up walls, making repair time longer
cerberus is 3 guard dogs with the same name. hades thinks its one dog, but zag brought home the 3 siblings and never lets him see all 3
zag fishes in the mall fountain and takes the goldfish home
sisyphus is waste disposal guy
dusa is a janitor
meg and her sisters are in charge of the taratarus level of the mall
nyx gave zag a walkie talkie to talk w/ his relatives olympians
zag never left the mall his whole life, doesnt know theres an outside world
hades is an overprotective parent
lernie is indoor rollar coaster that zag beats up
thanatos is a bouncer
charon is on a golf cart and in charge of finance. also smuggles goods
zagreus thinks theyre contrabands but theyre really normal stuff
hypnos is help desk guy who sleeps all the time

Ahhh I'm just imagining Zagreus being so proud when Nico's picture gets hung up in the lounge after big battles like the Battle of Manhattan
YES YES YES.
After The Battle of Manhattan Nico earned Hades’ respect, Making him proud with the greatness he showed in battle.
And that started the mending of Hades and Nicos relationship (which was strained and rocky after biancas death)
When Nico Leaves camp again, He frequently visits the Underworld palace. to the point that Hades made a room for him.
It’s around this time that Zagreus Sees and meets Nico.
at first Nico is wary, Cause he’s Nico di angelo, and He’s got trust issues especially with anyone actually wanting to know him.
But Zagreus Is very curious at the fact he has a brother (who’s apparently the favorite) and wants to know about the demigod. ((and very persistent as we know)
So eventually Nico cant keep up his “i keep everyone at a distance” thing going with Zag, But what really tips the tables
Is when the Portrait of Nico was finished and hung up. The Plaque stating His Battle in Mantthatten,
Nico is Met With a very Excited and Proud Zagreus, The minute he steps foot into The palace.
Zagreus saying How proud to have such a cool little brother, and How nico should recount the battle to him-
Which Takes Nico aback, Cause he’s still getting used too “having family that wants to spend time with him” Godly or Otherwise
Buts That’s only the beginning, Nico slowly shared things with Zagreus and vice versa.
in my brain They definitely have Nice brother bonding moments-
-Zag asking about Mythomagic (because all those figure that seem to stay on Nicos shelf in his room) And asking to be thaught- Nico being embarrassed but doing so anyways
-Practice sparing, Healthy brotherly competition (They’re tide on who’s won on at the moment)
-Nico Talking about Bianca, to zagreus and then eventually about Hazel
-Zag Talking about Thanatos ( and his crush on the god) , To which Nico gets surprised, and relaxes around his brother a bit more (safe place to be himself even if he not out yet)
-Nico Talking About being the Ambassador of Pluto at new Rome, and about Meeting Praetor Grace, And how He seemed Keen on Having him Stay at New Rome -
(Zag: well it’s not like you see much of camp-half blood, you could use some more friends little brother.
Nico: No, he just has a sense of justice and wants demigods to be safe- No one really would want to be friends with me)
-That’s met with a push and statment of “that’s not true, Your great company Nico”

Last time you cried? Last week if I'm not mistaken, my situation at home got me + the realization that things will change for worse so I ended up crying... and next day I got my period.

Im one of those weirdos who really likes Hades (from the Hades game) And i cant deside if i like the idea of hades being a romantic yan or a platonic one- i mean, the whole "there is no escape" thing is SO yandere- maybe if Hades manages to fall in love again after persephone, then there is no doubt in my mind of how possesive he would get... But also like... Hades wanting a "redo" child- getting really attached to a achild that actually meets his standards, bOTH SCENARIOS ARE SO GOOD!!!!
I completely agree. But I see romantic being a little too complicated since Persephone does return. How would he explain it to her? Would she forgive him? Plus he would have feeling like he was cheating on her and behaving like Zeus. So it's likely if he *did* fall in love again he would treat them badly if just to push them away but also demand their presence.
And for the platonic redo child reader doesn't have much of a choice or a way to fight back. Hades and Persephone regret being unable to both be there for Zagreus so they need to have a child they raise together. They can't risk another stillborn so they adopt. No matter your age they view you as a child since you are mortal and so so soooo much younger then them.

Love love love your new wake up in pjo series!! Love the fact you alter and add tid bit of your own hc in the universe (ie: may go to therapy, the oracle spirit being cool with the kids). I was so excited when mc and co are going on a quest but then mc drool on luke, clarrise wants to swim bc its too hot, annabeth getting piggy ride and they all act yk like a child in general makes me sad bc why are literal children going on a dangerous quest??? 😭😭 It feel so real when you add those tiny quirks of them.
I also love the fact that mc practically meets immortals and adopts them as their parents/adult figure. First it was maki, then hades and now circe. Yk that audio that went "you're my friend now. Let's get some soft taco later"?? Yeah that's mc. Mc also is the only one who actually has a good godly parent 😭😭 i love mc and zag's father-daughter dynamic. Zag's love language as physical touch is so real!! He hugs, pats, and kiss mc and 🥺🥺🥺 i hope this interaction will make a comeback in the future. And also hoping their dynamic will stay healthy throughout the series 🙏🏽 curious whether zag will makes mc stay in underworld or chb?? Obv zag knows their existence but don't want to send mc there to prevent them from becoming child soldiers and getting involved with the gods but after getting fatally injured maybe make him realize that he can't protect his child forever would make him hesitant and omg cant wait for this confrontation. I already can smell the angst 😭😭😔
And mc has staff too now??!! I'm so excited to discover more on mc's talents and power. At first when mc was introduced as zagreus' child, i thought blood manipulation or sth related to life would be their power as zagreus is the god of life/blood/fertility. But exploring the space/time aspect of zagreus is so wicked cool!! Can't wait for it to be explored more in the upcoming chapter!!
Also the love interest aspect is so cool!! The slow build, discovering about loves (platonic, familiar etc) as a child while growing up as a demigod can be rather a handful. When circe asks mc abt luke (and him scratching his butt, ngl i giggled at that part) and mc denied it, oh yes i love that slow build. (Did the girls in pjo be a love interest too?? Bc that will be so cool!!). Not only from the relationship's aspect but the slow build in friendship too. The bumpy start when befriending clarrise and her started to trust mc (with her complaining abt mc going to underworld and the spear thing 🥺). I can't wait for mc to meet percy and other characters and reading their friendship/relationship progress. (And does that mean nico will be mc's uncle?? Uncle nico??)

Yeah! I mean they are just kids you know? As a kid reading books about other kids becoming hero’s is inspirational because it makes you think you can be a hero too, but when you’re an adult looking back you think “man this is messed up.” I hope this series is nostalgic for you, but also an adult looking back perspective.
Zagreus is really the only good godly parent in the series lololol, Hades/Persephone are a close second but they’ve got their quirks lol. I think you’ll be fairly surprised at the next parts! I think the next parts will 100% make sense and set the tone of the series as well as being very relatable.
Yeah! I noticed there’s so many gods who are tagged with fertility and hunting in particular, I thought it was interesting that Zagreus was the god of mysteries and hunting, I thought it would be interesting to make a bit of a twist with that. The staff definitely plays a part in it, but not in the way you probably think haha, I like the idea that all it takes to be a witch is desire/will so I added those elements there.
Ah I’m still not sure if there will be a romantic relationship in this series, it just depends I suppose. But yeah, you’ll start seeing some unrequited love/slightly romantic relationships pretty soon haha
Ah and I don’t want to talk about Nico since that’s a whole bag in and of itself.
