hi i see you are reading the mortal instruments and are understandably distressed by the weird incest plots, so i feel honour-bound to warn you (as someone who read three different shadowhunters series in varying levels of "yikesyikesyikes" due to a combination of peer pressure and sometimes-morbid curiosity) that this is lowkey a cassandra clare theme

each of the series i read - tid, tmi, and tda - has a central "forbidden" romance. as you have noticed, tmi is "haha oops incest fakeout" and tda is "irl fine but canonically quasi-incest" (parabatai) so...good luck?

I wasn't going to read any of CC's other work anyway, I love the characters and I'm enjoying the TV show but the writing isn't exactly uhhh the best

SO my little brother just walked in with "a bloody toad" (we absolutely love to mess around with accents and he went all british on me)

(The 'oh deer' brother btw cuz I have more than one)

Bcuz we're on a camping in the middle of a forest in the middle of Sweden. And it's been raining a lot so you know, all these animals that like ~wetness~ are coming out (they're turning the friggin' frogs gay!)

And they like to hide in our fucking tent (idk what it's called in english, can't be bothered to search it up rn but it's this tent-thing in front of our caravan so we have ✨️space✨️) for some reason in the little spaces between all our crates and shoes and other shit

And apperantly a giant fucking toad was hiding there

And my brother found it

And I was inside the caravan, and he just says "grab the camera, grab the camera!"

So I grab his phone because my camera is broken and he just walks in with this giant fucking toad in his hands and then it fucking jumped out of his hands and I screamed and he grabbed it but it jumped out again and that happened a total of three or four times and ooooh yikesyikesyikes

And I was screaming and the entire camping was sitting like twenty or thirty meters in front of our spot bcuz they have a giant fire every night and everyone heard me screaming and then my mom came to see what was going on and she screamed too

You know why

Cuz my brother was holding a giant fucking toad

Cursed thought: did Stephanie Meyer read Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, and if so, did she got inspired on Edward mind reading powers (between the other gifts) by Lestat et other’s abilities? Maybe Armand?yikes
