Happy Friday from out in the garden. We had a cooler start today after some really hot days, so a lot of grass mowing had to be done. There are many states in the USA that are hotter than Michigan, so it could be worse.

The family that 🍂leaves🍂 together, stays together. Every autumn, we get overwhelmed with fallen leaves. I wondered if making it fun in a drawing would make it fun in real life. (It didn't 🥲)
Yardwork isn't my favorite thing to do, but I do like how meditative it can be and how it always makes me feel more connected to nature. If only the ticks and mosquitos would stop trying to connect...🥴
I hope everyone has a safe and happy holidays.

I'm so sad I let my garden go to COMPLETE TRASH over the winter!
This was my wildflower patch!! It was going so well, but my dogs busted through that make-shift fence and trampled over all of my flowers!
That black box at the back is my compost mound.
My raised beds and container garden area are all so sad looking!
All my empty pots. Most, if not all, will be filled with the things growing in my craft room.
Lastly.....my greenhouse. The wind just ate it up! I bought a new clear cover for it, just waiting on better weather before I get to putting it up.
Spring 2024 is here!

Wanted to get a nice ride in today as the weather was wonderful, but spent the whole day in the yard and garden with the dogs. The yard needed some attention, as did the garden. I'll try to ride tomorrow.
Bonus, I went down the back of our property and saw a huge healthy bobcat (was too slow to get a photo) love seeing wildlife finding a way to coexist.
Think I got a bit sunburned too ... oh well.

Look at this cool rock I found!
Dug this out of the ground in our backyard while making a hole for a post. It was 24 inches down in a layer of brown clay in a vein of rocks. It appears to be quartz and maybe fossilized coral or perhaps a bone due to its organic shape. Measures approximately 3 X 4 inches.
Michigan was an ancient sea 350 million years ago. I have found fossilized branching and horn coral in the same location. It is fascinating what one can find in your own backyard! ~ Matteo

While doing yardwork today, I found a tiny little frog. I held it and said hiiiii 😍 made me so happy. I'm healing, and it hurts, and this is life.
