i am a forgetful role player.
sometimes i will post inbox calls, starter calls or interaction calls and i will happily begin ... when i have muse for it, and sometimes i will lack muse, and i may forget about it all.
that is not because of you, the other part.
forgetfulness is something that we often frown upon, take as an insult directly towards us as a person. “but they never write to me”, “they always forget about me”, “i’m not gonna interact because they always forget” and while these things are totally valid, it must be said that forgetting things are human. not only is it human, but we should allow role players to be forgetful every now and then, simply because many, if not all, have lives outside of Tumblr that require a lot of them.
my forgetfulness is never directed towards you as a person.
my forgetfulness is never directed towards your creations.
     sometimes i forget because ...
i am tired.
i have a lot on my mind.
i get lost in other tasks.
i have to prioritize.
i bite over more than i can chew.
i simply forget.
therefore it must be said, have patience. reach out. don’t just sit back and huff about how you “always seem to be forgotten”. some folks have a lot on their minds, and that needs to be allowed.

I'm so glad this was addressed.
Tumblr media
I'm sorry this is a bit of a rant, but it is something that I still see happening it stresses me out honestly.
I am so so thankful Clown addressed this personally. This is what almost ended up making me leave the fandom ever since the first few fics came out. I ended up blocking the person who wrote the p3do fic about Eddie and a child reader and I STILL see people posting problematic fics on mostly AO3. Of course some of these people went full speed ahead just because NSFW is allowed now.
Let me be very clear about what is okay both morally and LEGALLY.
Triggering topics discussed below, please don't read if you are easily triggered by this topic.
NSFW as in smut and dub-con is fine. But when you start writing about p3do and r@p3y stuff, that becomes problematic and it honestly disgusts me people are encouraging these fics. The second one I can get IF YOU WARN READERS and make it very clear this is not okay. I have seen a lot of writings putting that stuff in a positive light and it is very unhealthy to show to readers. The first one is outright illegal and can fall under CP (This involves ANY kind of media, that includes writings such as fanfiction. So yes, these are ILLEGAL fanfictions.) Of course it depends on if you're in America, I am not sure what laws there are on this stuff in other countries. But even then this is crossing one too many lines and it's overall stressful to even stumble upon these kind of fanfictions.

please just don't...
ok i'm asking this as nicely as possible because this is the 1st time this has happened to me. i just had an anon (maybe two or three different ones idk) come into my inbox and request very explicit smut requests.
PLEASE DO NOT COME IN MY INBOX AND ASK UNHINGED SMUT REQUESTS FROM ME!!
i have an "about me" pinned on my page. it says what i will and will not write as well as WHAT TO ASK ME ABOUT FIRST. kindly read that before asking a request of me. if anyone needs me to be more specific about what i am comfortable with writing about, i will gladly do that. but again, i ask... please do not go into ANY writer's inbox and ask them for major/explicit things they have already voiced to be hesitant on.
IT'S INAPPROPRIATE, IT'S AWKWARD, AND IT'S UNNACCEPTABLE.
message them personally first and talk to them, especially when asking of a character that you know means a lot to them.
to the anon(s) who put those requests in my inbox: i cannot write those requests and i respectfully ask that you refrain from asking me to write something of Sam or any other character regarding those concepts. if those are ideas you desire, once again, i respectfully ask that you ask another writer who feels comfortable writing them. with that said, i will gladly write something with Sam for you, but i will not go to the extremes you listed. i do not write x readers either.
All my best ♡ - parker (BWS)

thanks to everyone's dedication, this one also got taken down
Tumblr media
We shouldn't have to put in so much effort to get stolen works taken down in the first place because stealing other people's work is fucking vile. The corresponding tumblr is still up, so if you want to try and limit access to your work, you might want to consider blocking @/afternnight
tagging those who were involved: @thef1diary @curiousthyme @monzamash @counterfics @norrisleclercf1 @paddockbunny @daydreamingleclerc @thatsdemko @hotmencore
And just in case anyone thinks us making such a fuss about this is ridiculous, I hope you have the day you deserve. Fic writers pour their heart and soul into writing things FOR FREE so you can enjoy them, so the least you can do is have an ounce of respect for their work by not posting it to a different platform. I am done being nice about this. If you don't like it, there's the door and don't forget to hit the block button on your way out.

Idk if this is an overall thing or just a test-run but I got a message today that it’s now possible for other people to blaze my posts (aka shove them into other people’s faces by paying real money for it). Sadly I had to close the tab on my phone so now I am not sure where I can turn that off again, so I just want to say this to caution you guys to please, please, please check with blogs if it’s okay to blaze their posts.
That said, I do NOT want my posts to be blazed. Please save the money, I will turn off the function as soon as I find it. I’d hate my posts to be shoved into someone’s face even if it was harmless, but it isn’t. No one should be forced to see what they don’t like or care about, and I don’t appreciate anyone causing harm to others by blazing my stuff. It wouldn’t only harm others but also me, since it makes me a prime suspect for harrassment when someone feels offended by what they were forced to see, so please consider it before wasting money.
If it’s some corporate bullshit and you want to support them, then I guess go ahead, they probably don’t care. But if it’s some random person, and especially someone who’s post might make others uncomfortable, please don’t just do it. If you want to support them, most people have tip jars somewhere so you can send it there, but don’t just promote their post to anyone that might not be the targeted audience...
Tumblr staff says they are overlooking and refusing posts against community guideline, but honestly, I wouldn’t trust them to hold my child no matter what they say. It might still slip through. A story could start harmless and they don’t bother reading it all and give it the go-ahead. Are we even sure it’s people and not bots checking?
So please check with the blogs you want to support. And to be fair, tumblr is not that good of a website that it’s worth it spending money on boosting views on posts. If you want to support people, go to them directly.

Fanfic Writer PSA
Hi everyone,
I know I speak on behalf of many fanfic writers in saying that 99 out of 100 readers are wonderful, supportive, fantastic people. Who leave wonderful and uplifting comments. And that the vast majority of you mean well.
But every so often I (we) receive comments like this one.
Tumblr media
This is on a story I haven't updated in quite a while. I haven't felt inspired enough to write it to a standard that I'm comfortable with - and certainly not a standard I'd like to share with all of you. And I'm sure this person meant well, but "might want to consider" isn't the best wording here. I know that tone doesn't come across well in writing, but I read this as, how come you haven't updated this?
Forgive me if I'm reading too much into this. I've had a rough couple of months - I haven't shared any details with you, but those of you who know me know what's going on in my life right now. And I haven't been as active of a writer as I'd like to be, because my time and energy has been taken up in other directions.
So, on behalf of all writers - readers, please be patient if there's a story of ours that you like and which hasn't been updated in a while. There's always a good reason why something hasn't been updated. Writing is hard. Life gets in the way. Inspiration comes and goes.
I love you all.
xoxo

Hey Eden had the unfortunate experience of seeing the recent things, sending good vibes!
Don't make me tap the sign folks:
Curate your own experience.
Creatives are people.
Creatives are not responsible for the way others perceive their works.
There's the concept of boundaries.
Walk up randomly to a stranger on the street to tell them "hey i don't like the way you wear your belt that you use and aren't forcing anyone else to use the way you do". No? Yeah. Being behind a screen doesn't grant a free pass to harass (look it rhymes!).
˚◞❀˳ loving the rhymes hun 😂 but yes — everything that you just said! as I've stated there is a clear distinction between intention and interpretation which people clearly do not understand. it reminds me of the whole drama I've had in relation to my dark content — why is it always my blog? I just wanna be pink and fuck dilfs 😭
anyway, thank you for speaking facts, accepting all your good vibes because I need em today. hope you have a lovely day rui darling! ❤️

Idk if it's because I follow a little of everything RPC wise in this blog, but I've been seeing a lot of this issue lately so, friendly reminder that, just like how you're in all your right to portray your character —be it a canon or an OC— however you see fit, other people are in all their right to choose not to interact with you based on how you portray your character.
You can have whatever headcanons you want, you can choose to ignore whatever part of the canon you don't vibe with, you can make up whatever OC or AU your heart desires, you can explore any plot under the sun. But always remember that people will and are in all their right to choose to not interact with you based on those things, AND THAT DOESN'T MAKE THEM BAD PEOPLE. They're just people with preferences and biases like everyone else.

A PSA: Writers, especially writers who create games with a wide, complex range of moral decision making, are not their characters. Reprehensible dialogue options are not representative of the writer’s innermost thoughts.

as much as i enjoy getting asks for my character, take a minute to see if it the prompt makes sense. if our characters have barely interacted, is it fitting for you to send something that requires a foundation ? if our characters have barely interacted, is it fitting for you to send in flirty, erotic or even violent prompts ?
some written content on tumblr, as well as characters, require some plotting and / or communication beforehand. this is a reminder to communicate with your role play partners, so you both have an understanding on what's welcome and not.

Did you guys hear that Google's got an A.I in beta now that they're going to be "training" by, like how most A.I are trained, scraping the stuff users have stored in their products like Google Docs and Google Drive??? Welp, time to move back to Microsoft Edge and or Firefox 💀😬. Oh, and to delete everything off of my Google Drive/Photos/Docs too.
(So expect some of the links on my pinned post to be broken at some point)

Nonnie asking about the Motocross updates, quick reminder that I don't have a posting schedule at the moment as listed in my Port of Call:
⚓ Updates: I currently do not have a posting schedule as I write in my limited free time and post when I can. Please, be patient and I will share updates as they are available.
I try to share any weekly plans with my Nonsense posts. I've been dealing with things outside of social media that need my time and attention, which takes away from free time to write.
It also doesn't help that when I DO post fics and imagines that they seem to get flagged almost immediately. I get that some of that is the algorithm, but people are also abusing the ability to report fics. It is happening to other writers, especially certain Bucky blogs. Doesn't exactly help with morale.
So if the ask is simply, "When are you updating this?", I will not answer it. I appreciate you lovelies understanding and I'm excited to share more when I can get to it. ❤️

If you're writing a character and trying to signal that they're highly educated and intelligent please, for the love of any gods you might believe in, stop giving them multiple PhDs in the same general field. To anyone in academia, it doesn't read as "wow, this person must be so smart!", it reads as "wow, this person must be a terrible researcher if the only academic positions they can get are as a PhD student!" and/or "this person is either an idiot or lying about their qualifications"
If you're a halfway decent academic, you dont need to do multiple PhDs. You just apply to postdoctoral fellow positions on projects in whatever field your work is in. The only reason you should be doing a second PhD is if you have significantly changed field and therefore lack the foundational knowledge to be able to research it independently. A PhD might be the highest degree qualification level, but it is essentially "baby's first research position" as far as academia goes. Your character bragging about having 4 PhDs is the academic equivalent of bragging that you've graduated from high school 4 times. They won't have learned much more after the first time, and it begs the question of why they haven't just moved on.
The only reason other academic characters should be impressed by your character's multiple PhDs is if they're in Astrophysics, Early 20th Century Poetry, and Behavioural Economics, or some equally eclectic mix of random interests. What will actually impress academics is getting important grants or multiple high-profile publications (tenure is also much less of a big deal than you might think).

Massive thanks to everyone who reported the user, they have taken down their account and also have seem to deleted their tumblr (check out this post if you're not sure what this is about)
Tumblr media
"this page got lost in a good story and never returned. We couldn't find what you were looking for"
Tagging the writers whose work got reposted without permission so they know: @povlnfour @lqvesoph @itaipava @hotmencore @f1version @norrizzandpia @azulpitlane @boiohboii @lewisvinga @hemmingsleclerc @kjdkive @imnameimswrld @luv4georgie @lucyrose191 @disneyprincemuke
And to everyone else, let this serve as a PSA that it's shit like this that makes us stop writing or decide to post things behind a paywall on platforms like Patreon. We are tired of this happening again and again

"Love stories are meant as an escape, whether to be read or written, and as someone who’s been in more than one of these relationships (both romantic and familial), fuck this mentality." Uh, go read the original Romantic novels. They weren't written to provide "healthy wholesome uwu relationships" for people who think all fiction should be didactic.
Anon, I'm going to assume that you HAVE read the "original romance novels" and can provide context? Cuz I'd honestly like to know which ones you're referencing in this. As an FYI, even the earliest work of Shakespeare was meant to be entertaining. And saying every piece of fiction out there promotes a positive outlook on life would be a farce. I'm very well aware of the variety of written works that exist in the world.
Going along the notion that you've completely missed the point from this post, it doesn't matter when you're reading romance stories, whether it's paid for or original or fanfiction, creativity is meant to be enjoyed. The thought that the main couple (or even the plot) needs to be "toxic" in order for the audience to connect or "go mad" over is BONKERS. For those of us conscious enough to recognize the trauma we've gone through, I can pretty much guarantee that we do NOT want to relive it.
I'm not saying everyone, cuz like I said in the previous post, there are some people who need to read about things that like that because they want to see the protagonists overcome the trauma. They want to see the characters survive, and that's totally fine! I don't speak for everyone.
Who I do speak for, are those of us squinting at the notion that toxicity on its own is entertaining. And normal. IT'S NOT. Brushing off negging and jumping to conclusions and stalker-like tendencies is NOT okiee and should be addressed as such. I look back on all the shoujo manga I read as a teen, and I cringe at all the times a conflict arises SOLELY due to one of the characters overhearing a conversation and RUNNING AWAY instead of simply asking their partner about it. THAT'S NOT HEALTHY.
So yes, I will continue to write my characters with the ability to talk to each other. With the ability to work through their problems, both externally and internally. To create healthy relationships based on trust and communication and love. Save the toxicity for the villains, and stop trying to pass it off as a necessity for a functioning relationship. THAT is what should be considered normal.
