It’s hard to not love me,
I’ll make you feel good about yourself.
My mirror skin will reflect
the best parts of you and
in the house party of my body
you’ll be the life of every room.

“First Step To Being Good; Is Being Bad"
Whether you show up, or glow, up, or die
All that matters, really
Is “Did you try?
Did you cry?”
Survive a bit longer
All that matters, really
Is, “Did you make it?
Did you fake it?”
Just the simple act of doing it
It doesn’t matter, really
“Did you do it well?
Did you give it your all?”
Is it really your best if you give it every day?
What’s an average if you do it that way?
Take a rest, walk the lap
Show up, do it, and take that damn nap

"Plqce for my head"
Is there an actual safe haven? A place to unwind, be free from criticism.... A place to utilize our uniqueness in such a manner that outweighs our flaws, a place where our regrets are no longer a thing, where missteps are only viewed as way to gain wisdom in this vast reality...maybe it's not really a place but rather a community that actually chooses to extend grace to self and others, an act of gratitude from the One whom all life emanates from, if only people can distance themselves from 'self preservation' to a 'thriving community' since walking together, as one, for another, would bring about more positive changes than any segregation based on myriads of human based distinctions.

And if I told you that in this life and the next and all the ones past and all the ones to come, that this was how it was always meant to be, would it change anything?
Would you still try be the person you are right now? I wonder about that a lot... about how fatal we can be to ourselves. We carve, we etch, we mark, and never once does it feel like we are creating. How disappointing.

Life is a candle light, flickering, burning moths, lighting far and high skyline,
As they say, no man ever steps into the same river twice,
I wonder, whether the same light casts its shadow on people twice.
What is light and what is the darkness that it hides.
Does it contrast or are these my eyes contradicting everything in sight.

Thumbtack in Your Pocket
J.S. Carrie
In ten days,
I will shuck away
my skin and face
and silently become you.
I feel your bones
growing inside of me,
creeping through my cracks
like moss in stone,
like vines in stone,
like water, weathering stone,
like ice, expanding in stone.
The wedge drives deeper.
Howling, I despair.
I wish you weren’t going
to cut your hair.
I liked the way it fell
behind your ears,
the way it reminded me
of how mine used to fall.
Now my hair is grown long.
Please, just let your hair grow long.
Two laundry hampers
sitting in my room,
full of my clothes that
I have not yet put away,
slowly begin to reject me.
Within them,
from the bottom, working up,
is you.
Your shirts, your pants,
your mismatched socks
and your stray hairbands.
You always used to leave them
in your pockets.
You always forget to take things
from your pockets.
Like a penny in the sidewalk crack.
Like a thumbtack behind the desk.
Like a hairband in your pocket.
Like a penny in your pocket.
Like a thumbtack in the crack behind the sidewalk,
in your pocket.
Slowly, the world around me
begins to forget me.
Is this all I am, a thumbtack in your pocket?
Shall I prick you, just a thumbtack in your pocket?

Trying to battle writer's block
Hi everyone,
It's been quite some time since I have posted on Tumblr. Truth be told life got busy and it got hard to write consistently. I know there are a lot of writers here, some of whom I have interacted with, and some of whom I have adored for their work. I know it can get really hard to write and you can sometimes feel blocked and demotivated.
Drawing from my personal struggle with writing, I am building something for us writers. It is a tool to combat the dread of staring at a blank page and I need some help from the community here. I would love to be able to chat or speak to you about your methods to keep inspired. And to bounce my ideas and version zero of my product. If anyone is interested in trying it out, you can find the version 0 here:
https://penpalai.netlify.app/
Please note, that I am working on it as I go, so please save your work separately too. (currently available on desktops/laptops only)
Do let me know if you would be interested in talking about your experience with the block too. I would love to get to know your process. Looking forward to interacting with this wonderful community!
Best,
Mildreflections

How many emotions
did I hold back
just to prove
everyone, anybody

I love you with my liver,
litter the livid -
viscid and vivid;
I love you with my lungs.
luck-lust lunatics
lacking labor limits -
I love you with my lips,
lisping though the lines
minding the mad minutes.
With my kidneys -
kissing chaos crossed with karma.
I love you with my appendix
and we don’t really know what was for even
but it’s yours.
Yours;
every ventricle vibrating,
every atrium aspirating;
heart holy
sung slowly.

living in a system
that I don't
want to exist in,
asking to be forgiven

I don't consider sins.

Do not call me yours. I do not belong to you—I belong to myself. But my heart is forever tied to yours by a crimson thread.
Forgive me, my heart is restless. I could spread my wings any moment. My soul is my own, but it sings to yours, and wherever I go in this universe, I will always find my way to you.

Its so hard to explain.
I know I was chosen to suffer. I suffer so much that I am bound to lose myself in the world. I surrendered to my heart. Because I am unable to keep it safe from people tearing it apart. I surrendered to my God. I’m done. My dreams are shattered, and my life is scattered. I exist, but my soul doesn’t. I shed my tears alone. I wipe my tears alone. I walk alone. I travel alone. Only if God could make a path for me to leave this pathetic world forever. I do not navigate my life with wisdom; rather, wisdom navigates my life. I look up to God and dive into wonder. What did I ever do in life for which wisdom had to navigate my life through such obnoxious and painful situations? The universe compelled me to comprehend that no one has the potential to keep my soul safe. Unfortunately, I am my own safe heaven.
