"Give Meredith and Orsino time to work out their differences..." man,, there's just so much to unpack here like
1. They're not a married couple to work out their differences ffs
2. "No good can come of showing favor to one side" bitch when one side is oppressors and the other is oppressed, not showing favor is siding with the oppressor. Simple as that. Especially when you're part of said oppressors
3. There's no working out differences when one wants to commit genocide and the other, shockingly /s, does not want that. What differences are there to possibly be fucking worked out??
4. You're supposed to keep Meredith in check, what the fuck are you even here for if you don't step in when there has been blatant disregard for Chantry law (nevermind that even if that's followed, it's still an oppressive system) for at least 7 fucking years??? Oh right, you're here to let Meredith (and the Chantry as a result) slowly take over Kirkwall, bc that's what it's all about apparently
Fuck this shit. I'm supposed to think that Anders finally blowing the lid off this dumpster fire of a city is the worst thing to happen? I don't. Things have been shit in the city and would've continued to get worse and worse and worse. Way more would've died if nothing was done and things still would've remained shit as an added bonus. At least after a revolt, there's a path to healing. Meredith would've annulled the Circle, then would've continued to lead a regime that got people killed for imaginary slights, and would've continued to raze through the city. A revolt was coming. Better sooner than later.

Approximate value of homework.
Aiden turns the paper left, then right, squinting at it like that's going to shake the rest of the sentence from it.
It doesn't.
"The approximate value of what? Pineapple?" He'd never had pineapple, at least not far as he can remember. But he'd seen pictures and they did not, in fact, look like apples. "Pillows? Pistols? Pigs? This makes no sense."
"Gimme that," Crane says and plucks the paper from Aiden's hand. He lifts it. Squints at it. And then he leans his head ever so slightly to the side so he can peer at Aiden from behind it.
He's smiling. Why's he smiling? Worse, why is it one of those I'm-trying-hard-not-to-laugh-smiles-but-really-I'm-absolutely-losing-my-shit-right-now?
Aiden, feeling a bristling coming on, folds his arms. "What?"
"It's pie."
"Pie? Like, strawberry-"
"No, like. Pee-Eye. Pi. The-" Crane scrunches up the paper, clears his throat, and when he starts talking again he sounds like he's reciting something that's written on the inside of his skull, his tone a bit flat and hurried. His light brown eyes even glaze over a little. "-ratio of the circumference of any circle to the diameter of that circle."
. . .
"What."
Crane snorts. "Nevermind. Try 314."
3-1-4 works.
And by the end of the day, he's been so relentlessly nettled by math quizzes, he's about ready to figure out the approximate value of strangling a man.

i love when words fit right. seize was always supposed to be that word, and so was jester. tuesday isn't quite right but thursday should be thursday, that's a good word for it. daisy has the perfect shape to it, almost like you're laughing when you say it; and tulip is correct most of the time. while keynote is fun to say, it's super wrong - i think they have to change the label for that one. but fox is spot-on.
most words are just, like, good enough, even if what they are describing is lovely. the night sky is a fine term for it but it isn't perfect the way november is the correct term for that month.
it's not just in english because in spanish the phrase eso si que es is correct, it should be that. sometimes other languages are also better than the english words, like how blue is sloped too far downwards but azul is perfect and hangs in the air like glitter. while butterfly is sweet, i think probably papillion is more correct, although for some butterflies féileacán is much better. year is fine but bliain is better. sometimes multiple languages got it right though, like how jueves and Πέμπτη are also the right names for thursday. maybe we as a species are just really good at naming thursdays.
and if we were really bored and had a moment and a picnic to split we could all sit down for a moment and sort out all the words that exist and find all the perfect words in every language. i would show you that while i like the word tree (it makes you smile to say it), i think arbor is correct. you could teach me from your language what words fit the right way, and that would be very exciting (exciting is not correct, it's just fine).
i think probably this is what was happening at the tower of babel, before the languages all got shifted across the world and smudged by the hand of god. by the way, hand isn't quite right, but i do like that the word god is only 3 letters, and that it is shaped like it is reflecting into itself, and that it kind of makes your mouth move into an echoing chapel when you cluck it. but the word god could also fit really well with a coathanger, and i can't explain that. i think donut has (weirdly) the same shape as a toothbrush, but we really got bagel right and i am really grateful for that.
grateful is close, but not like thunder. hopefully one day i am going to figure out how to shape the way i love my friends into a little ceramic (ceramic is very good, almost perfect) pot and when they hold it they can feel the weight of my care for them. they can put a plant in there. maybe a daisy.
