Before Paldea was announced I wanted to theorize about a Pokemon region based on Portugal. and then we got the Iberian Peninsula, but let's be frank, it was basically just Spain.
I predicted the Iberian Lynx starter, but mine would have been a quadruped.
Calflint and Dullphin were based on a a type of cattle from northern Portugal and a Portuguese Man-o-war (the boat not the jellyfish):
I also had a regional version of Furfrou based on a Portuguese water dog:
it was not Water type but could learn some water moves.
Then these two, a regional version of Spinda that ate the grass and poison type Toxuva (that represents the wine industry) and got drunk as a result:
and the mythical of the region, the ghost and fairy type Baroaster, based on the tale of the Galo de Barcelos:
there was barely any Portuguese representation in Scarlet and Violet... the most Portuguese thing was a Brazilian Duck... Thanks Gamefreak.

They better not sacrifice anything living because I would cry
Like idk if it's hilichurls, slimes, animals- if it's got a pulse it better not end up on an altar of any kind, unless it's to show off how cute it is and that's it
Food sacrifices are okay though. Need some of those wolf berries
I imagine most of the sacrifices would be in game items, maybe even things they've taken notice of you farming because the whole point of a sacrifice is to appease you, meaning they would probably start with what they know you like
I've also seen it written that sacrifices could be transferred as in game mail, similar to birthday letters with things attached, maybe the things attached in the birthday letters are sacrifices 🤔
Now if they got desperate they might try some more "creative" solutions, but that's kind of a last resort 'nothing else seems to be working' sort of situation, so you can probably avoid them going to those extremes, but I guess it all just depends on how you act in game
Like if you ruthlessly kill all the animals you come across, intimidate certain npcs, rush into monster camps even if there isn't any reward etc etc, well, they might interpret that as you being more ok with certain actions on your behalf, you didn't like that npc anyway right :)
Now if you're more of a 'collect everything you see' hoarder then you're going to get a large variety of offerings, from fruit to stones to books to weapons and artifacts to any other in game item, though the weapons and artifacts probably won't be of particularly high quality considering they can only get these items in the general overworld and not through domains, but you could still use it as ascension material so no harm done
I imagine offerings would be heavily specialized per character as well, everyone has a different interpretation on what you like and don't like based on how you act when playing them, so it's anyone's guess

Trier, Germany, Deutschland. Kurfürstliches Palais
Trier, Germany, Deutschland. The Roman city gate: Porta Nigra
Trier, medieval market square
Trier was a Celtic settlement. The Romans named it after that Celtic tribe. The city has Roman baths, amphitheatre and a stunning roman city gate. From Roman times, Trier grew and endured. A marvellous city to visit.
