Oh look, What I have so far for my Cataclysm and pre-canon Mondstadt plot points for my ATWIAWL AU!
CATACLYSM
After defeating Durin, Celestia summons Barbatos to assassinate the Khaenri’an heir, to which Barbatos very reluctantly cooperates with, that is until they get there and discover a baby Kaeya.
Seeing his smile, Barbatos cannot bring themself to kill the baby and attempts to smuggle him away from the Cataclysm, but they are discovered by Morax and the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles.
Before all of this, Dainsleif was exiled (for reasons I haven’t really decided yet) from Khaenri’ah but came back during the Cataclysm hoping to save the people, but bumps into Barbatos. Dainsleif is tense at first until Barbatos hands Kaeya over to him and tells him that he must run before the Sustainer arrives.
The Sustainer then proceeds to arrive and Barbatos buys the two time as Dainsleif and Kaeya flee into the Abyss. However, Barbatos quickly loses the fight.
An offence like this would normally lead to the offender’s execution, however, the Sustainer is unable to kill Barbatos without severe consequences (all relating to Istaroth), but leaving them to their own devices is just as equally dangerous, so instead, the Heavenly Principles seal them away.
She still tells all the other archons that they killed Barbatos to dissuade them from also rebelling.
Before they’re able to seal them away, however, Barbatos transfers their powers over to the Thousand Winds, blessing them with power rivalling that of Liyue’s adepti so that after the deed is done and the Sustainer sets out to attack Mondstadt, the Wind Wisps are able to fight her off, sending her into a deep slumber after the Cataclysm weakened her.
PRE-CANON MONDSTADT
After they were blessed by Barbatos, the Wind Wisps essentially became divine protectors of Mondstadt, similar to the Four Winds and Liyue’s adepti. They’re also able to have human forms, identifiable by their white hair and anemo-coloured tips and eyes. They mostly stay in Mondstadt but are also known to live in other nations alongside people they decide to stick to.
Before they were sealed away, Barbatos was able to remove their soul and put it into the form of a Wind Wisp not too dissimilar from the rest of the Thousand Winds. Since their identity as Venti was compromised, Barbatos decided to craft a new identity under the name of Nye and use it to secretly remain in Teyvat.
The fact that Barbatos disguised as Nye is still around is a secret only the Thousand Winds are privy to, because if Celestia were to ever hear of Nye’s true identity, they could potentially awaken prematurely, and that is the last thing anyone wants.
Because they’re around, Venti is able to heal Dvalin of Durin’s poison, but because I’m also a sucker for the gay dragons, close to the present events of the game, Durin gets reincarnated into the most reckless being in all of Teyvat. Initially, Dvalin lets him be out of a sense of guilt from killing his past self, but then Durin (whose name might not be Durin anymore) gets himself in a sticky situation and Dvalin has to appear in his human form in order to get him out of that situation. Afterwards, Dvalin decides to stick around with Durin to ensure that he doesn’t get himself almost killed again.
In his human form, Dvalin has a fake anemo vision and I can imagine him either being a bow user or a catalyst user.
I like to think that Durin would have a cryo vision. I can imagine his weapon either being a claymore or a physical catalyst like Heizou or Wriothesley.
During the Ursa the Drake crisis, the presence of the wisps are able to save Crepus’ life. I haven’t decided yet if present-day Diluc still has the same personality he had before his father died in canon, or if he’s still grumpy. Another fic that inspired me was “A Bard’s Ambition” by OG_CaleHenituse where even though Venti saved Crepus’ life, it wasn’t without people thinking he had died when he went missing which still results in Diluc’s fallout with the knights.

Pardon me if this is a bit intrusive l, but what was the worst part of being a cyborg? Except I guess becoming cyborgs for starters... I noticed you had a few sensitive issues, So I wondered if you had any when you "became" half-robotics
Thank you for answering 🫰
It is intrusive. But, seeing as you've consistently been helpful and engaged, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're asking out of some misplaced care for me, not intentionally overstepping.
Asking "which part was the worst" is a pointless misdirection--it was a horrible experience through and through. The prosthetics were functional, sure, but they weren't designed to handle my energy for extended periods of time; I needed constant repairs, and if I so much as tried to scratch an itch I'd claw through the metal and turn myself into a heap of scrap.
Ah, and a few days after surgery, I had a near-fatal reaction when the sealant fluid they used on my waist somehow leaked into my stomach lining. I was ill for weeks.
Part of my skull was blown away during all of that mess on Namek, and so they had to supplement my remaining brain matter with an experimental computer system. It itched inside my head. God, and the migraines...
Ugh. Awful. The whole thing was awful. Honestly, I'd rather have died.

Trying to shake a little rust off after a writing hiatus, which means some random scenes as warmups! This is, in theory, from the latter half of the "Jean marries the prince of Khaenri'ah" AU, if I go with a particular thread I'm still debating--whether or not to go with multiple false identities and have Diluc be, at first, in disguise himself. I like identity porn, okay. >> I'm just not sure if it has a plot function. But since I haven't written the main story yet, I can play about freely!
---
When Maram steps out of her private chambers, her son is in her receiving-room, pacing back and forth across the floor. His head jerks up at her entry; there's a brief flash of light in his eyes, the cold pale-blue gleam of Cryo, clear in the left, fractured and flickering in the right. Her heart seizes, as it always does, at that sight.
But he masters himself, reins in the shadow of the Abyss creeping up through him, drawing himself straight in a gesture so reminiscent of his father that Maram almost smiles. Almost, because the stiffness that has become natural in her husband is a warning-sign in her son. His shoulders are held with a rigidity that comes from more than the armor, a tension that's all defensiveness, little as he'd like to know she sees it there.
"What troubles you?" she asks him, beckoning him to join her as she steps up onto the low dais at the center of the room. The benches at the sides are more intimate, but when he's this tense, she doubts that she could make him sit down.
"Diluc," he says, following her up. He takes a formal pose, standing at attention before her like any other knight, but she can still see the tension humming through him in his hands clenching and unclenching at his sides, the samll shifts of his weight. "Jean's bodyguard, her Dark Knight- he was there when I went to visit the horses this morning. He didn't tell me, but I remember how he was with horses. Mother, I would swear that it's him."
Maram's hands tighten on the arms of her chair, and she leans forward, nearly as tense as he is. "Is that so?"
"I'm almost certain. It would explain quite a bit. But if he is Diluc…." Below the hollow crackling that the armor gives his voice, Maram can hear the raw edge of distress. "How could I have missed it for so long?"
She can hear the other questions beneath that. Has Diluc changed so much, or has he? Is his memory failing him, or worse yet, his love for the boy he knew? The last shivers through his tone in unspoken terror.
"I have long suspected that mask he wears of holding some enchantment," Maram says firmly, to banish those fears. Her son's mind may go, someday, but never his heart. She trusts in that. "It must be one of concealment. He said he took it from the Fatui, and their spying would benefit from that sort of tool."
He breathes out a sigh that isn't quite relief, but his voice shakes less when he answers, and his chuckle is almost real. "That would explain why he insists on wearing something so hideous. Even Diluc wouldn't sport such an unfashionable trophy without a good reason."
Maram relaxes a bit herself. But not entirely. "Now that you know, love, would you like me to kill him for you? If I do it myself, you don't have to lie to your wife. Formidable as he seems to be, my Wind Glede and I are his equal, and I know how to take a man by surprise."
"No!" He rocks back on his heels in shock and horror, armor grating on itself. "Why would you do that? That's the last thing- that's hardly necessary."
Because she wants to kill him, Maram doesn't say, and had hoped he might allow it, though she'd already known that would be his answer. Her son's heart is his greatest strength, but also his greatest weakness.
"Your father would have ordered it. He's hurt you once, and we'll take no more chances with you if we can avoid it."
"No," he says again, more firmly, regaining his composure. "He's here to guard Jean. Our court is enough of a threat to her without taking away one of her protectors. He has no idea who I am, and I intend to keep it that way."
"And how will you do that when your curse comes to an end?"
"I'll handle that when it happens." He chuckles, and Maram feels her heart ache anew at the false blitheness of it.
As his Queen, she could overrule him; as his mother, she dares not to. Her heart has always been her greatest weakness, as well. If she does lose him to his people's curse, as he's so certain that she will, she doesn't want him to go still angry at her for her actions.
If she does lose him to that curse, to the darkness that first gathered in that wounded eye, she can always wait until he's gone to kill Diluc Ragnvindr for his betrayal.

I don't have enough knowledge for headcanons for the Fontaine and Snezhnaya arcs for my ATWIAWL AU, so I'm just gonna put them all in one post.
FONTAINE HEADCANONS
Furina names her wisp Duchesse Imène.
Imène doesn't know that Furina is not Focalors, but they do have a feeling that something is up and that it's probably the kind of something that is better off not looked into.
Imène does act as an unconditional support for Furina through thick and thin :))
SNEZHNAYA HEADCANONS
The Tsaritsa’s wisp is known by the Snezhnayan people as the Velikaia Knazhna (Grand Princess) of Snezhnaya, Karine.
I effing love the idea of Venti & Tsaritsa siblinghood, so they're like siblings in this AU.
My bro suggested the angsty idea that the Tsaritsa was the one that was originally assigned to kill Kaeya, but because she refused, the duty was pushed onto Venti and now that she thinks he's dead, she's feeling really guilty about it (I might have mentioned this before)
One of the goals she wants to fulfil once she collects all the Gnosis (besides taking down Celestia) is reviving Venti.
I genuinely had to ask myself why Karine doesn't just snitch on the Pierro and the Fatui to the Tsaritsa, but my bro suggested that at this point, the Tsaritsa probably does not care anymore.
Despite that, Karine doesn't leave the Tsaritsa like Kaze did with Ei because, unlike Ei, the Tsaritsa is still there and needs emotional support.
Instead, they help take care of the Snezhnayan people in the Tsaritsa's stead.
But now I have to ask myself; "How will Kabuki and Kaze threaten Dottore to stay out of Inazuma if the Tsaritsa doesn't care enough to put an end to his experiments?" Anyone have any ideas?
That's all I got lol. At least, until Natlan comes out.
