Today was quiet, the atmosphere in the academy almost filled with a sense of unease, the air feeling a little colder than usual, the sky outside much darker than usual and the weather taking a sudden turn as the sky pours with rain. The four of you had decided to do some things of your own, still having some things mostly related to work left and excited to spend the evening in each other's embrace, Delia deciding to head to the markets to get some ingredients for dinner.
Billie Dean sitting in the living room by the fire place, in between face time calls to her agents and doing some things on social media to promote the upcoming season of her show. You had opted for doing some things around the academy in order to help out your girlfriends, especially Cordelia who has had a long week, filled with supreme duties. At first you briefly tidied her office for her, enough to make it clean and sort through some documents but not enough to invade her privacy. The supreme didn't mind, not having any secrets and trusting you enough to teach classes and help look after the girls but you still never wanted to pry. Afterwards, you took care of some things in the greenhouse, helping some of the few girls left at the academy packing their things and heading out for the weekend.
And as you close to the front door, walking through the large white hallway, you catch a glimpse of Billie, typing away on her laptop, taking some sips of the coffee you had brought her a while ago and you can't help but smile, seeing her in her element, looking as ethereal as ever in a long flower skirt and blouse and wondering how she managed to always look so stunning, even on a quiet rainy weekend. Suddenly, the thought of your redhead girlfriend crosses your mind, thinking how she seemed a little tense this week, not enough for either of you to worry but enough for you to notice. And then it kind of dawns on you that despite it now being the afternoon, you hadn't seen her today.
This morning you only caught a glimpse of her, not long enough to really even have a conversation with her and then as thunder strikes through the academy, Billie shrieking a little at the sudden noise, it dawns on you again how when you had tried to bring her some tea before, she wasn't in her office and so you had left it on her desk. With a sense of urgency, you glance at Billie, who had abandoned her phone call a while ago, deciding it was enough working for the day. ,,Billie?'' you ask, almost a little anxiously as she turns her head to look at you. At first she thinks the thunder may have upset you, quickly on her feet as her heels tap against the marble floor. ,,Are you okay babydoll?'' she asks, as soon as she reaches you, noticing your slightly pale expression.
,,Have you seen Mina today?'' you question, your voice betraying your anxiety. Billie's eyebrows furrow for a moment, thinking back but she also had no recollection of really seeing the redhead today, trying to think whether she mentioned anything about heading out today. ,,No babydoll'' she reassures, a flicker of worry now mirroring her brown orbs.
Clearing your throat, your eyes wander to the staircase, before taking a deep breath ,,I'm going to check on her'' you announce, already on your way, before Billie is quick to follow behind. ,,Let me come babydoll'' she ushers, taking your hand as the two of you climb the staircase, halting outside the redheads office door.
What neither of you three had known was that the past week had tested the usual strong woman in ways she hadn't been tested before. Her work had been unusually demanding, her bosses draining all the energy she had left to give with their usual demanding and ridiculous personalities. She felt more agitated, struggling a little to keep the perfect facade up as soon as she returned home in the evenings. All she wanted to do was hide away, to the comfort of bed or even the silence of her office. But she couldn't, Wilhemina never able to lay out her feelings in front of either of you, her past having scarred her in ways neither of her girlfriends could imagine.
Despite everything, the redhead felt like she had a job with you three, a purpose. Being the shoulder Cordelia could lean on whenever the academy and being the most powerful witch weighed heavily on her shoulders. Whenever doubts filled her about whether she was doing this justice, whether she was slowly turning into her mother. The two of them had a quiet understanding and of course Cordelia knew all too well about Wilhemina's past and sorrow. She tried hard to make her life easier in any ways she could, offering her full support, whether that was with Wilhemina's demanding job, her pains, often offering to accompany her to Doctors appointments, pick up her medication for her, anything to make her life easier.
With Billie, the redhead felt like she had the purpose to cheer the medium, knowing despite all the fun parts of her job it was never really easy, the hauntings, the ghosts, often keeping Billie up at night and Wilhemina the one awake and softly coaxing her back to sleep. Often the two of them communicating with nothing but sarcasm and bickering but it was their love language, it always had been, Billie knowing it triggered the redhead a little but at the same time coaxed her out of her stoic shell at times. And Billie wasn't great with words sometimes and so the only thing she could do for the redhead was coax her in her attention and love. Mostly showering her in gifts that Wilhemina would find randomly almost weekly in her office. One time it was a small lilac Chanel purse that Wilhemina had taken to work ever since. Another time a lavender candle that the redhead kept lit in her office and just this week a bouquet of lilac flowers, that Wilhemina had kept on her night table, a reminder that she could get through this week as Billie had, in silence, noticed that this week was a little harsher on her girlfriend.
And at last there was you, her little one. Since meeting you and you joining their relationship, Wilhemina felt an odd amount of protectiveness over you. She felt the same towards Cordelia and Billie, especially considering the dangers their jobs and lives brought. But you were different for some reason, Wilhemina seeing a small part of her younger self in you, wanting to protect you from life's pain and burdens. She was always by your side, a set of brown eyes always lingering whenever you are nearby, making sure Madison wasn't teasing you too much, making sure your students respected you, as she sometimes made an appearance at your classes, observing quietly from a distance. Wilhemina made sure whenever you were in pain, may it be a simple headache or a specifically painful period, that you would confide in her. You didn't know but deep down she never wanted you to be like her, not able to ask for help. And so she showered you in love, nothing too much for her, often making it a habit to make some time with just you, sometimes reading to you, even teaching you to knit a while ago. And in return you gave her your everything, there was something special about your love with all of them but Mina was different.
You had never loved anyone so deeply, as no one ever made you feel quite that safe. And you knew all too well about her stubbornness, her refusal of asking for help and so you tried to do it in silence. Every morning, she would find a packed lunchbox on the kitchen table, along with the daily newspaper, the kettle and some tea already prepared for her. When she returned from work, she would find a nice warm bath waiting for her, her office always tidy and her medication draw always stocked up. And despite her hating it secretly, she accepted it from you, knowing you meant well, you never pried, never asked too much or the wrong questions and she adored you for it. But despite it all, she couldn't confide in either of you this week, how her back had hurt so much more than usual, how she couldn't walk at times, how her legs, arms and hands and every single bone in her body hurt so much that sometimes it brought tears to her eyes. How she had considered to take double her usual dosage as it all felt a little unbearable.
And so, the only thing she could do today, was sit in her office, not to do any work, giving you all that excuse to be left alone but simply to deal with her pain. Deal with this week, knowing if she wasn't going to get this quiet time she would lash out, letting all the anger and frustration out on either of you, like she had done many times in the past, her eyes always pleading for forgiveness after but she didn't want to do this today. Not after all the kindness you all had showed her and continue to show her. And then her thoughts are interrupted by a knock, a very quiet one and she knew it was you by the way it was so faint and quiet, knowing you had no intention of disturbing her. But she also knew it was Billie, hearing the sound of heels ascend the stairs moments before and she sighs, knowing she couldn't stay in here forever as the evening approached and she had every intention of spending it with you three, having missed you this week.
,,Come in'' she announces and you breathe out in relief, as you gently open the door, exposing her sitting in her armchair, her expression neutral despite the pain. As you glance around her office, you notice how it all looked the same, the tea cup in the same spot you had left it in, her computer and work pile not being touched either and it makes you wonder what she had done all day. Billie approaches, lacking your gentleness, walking over to the redhead and pressing a kiss to her cheeks. ,,We wanted to check on you Venable, haven't seen you all day'' the medium announces and you can't help but notice the way she winced when Billie gently placed her hand on her shoulders and kissed her cheeks. ,,Is everything okay Mina?'' you ask, anxiously, knowing she was unusually quiet today. ,,Fine, little one'' she replies, forcing her best smile and watching Billie as she strolls through her office almost noisily and Wilhemina watching carefully.
,,So what have you been up to?'' Billie asks, almost absent-mindedly as she lights a cigarette and continues strolling through her office and by your girlfriends reaction you knew she was about to snap. Wilhemina didn't condone the habit and she wouldn't usually say anything about Billie smoking near her or in her room but you also knew whenever she was agitated, she would scold her and tell her off for just that habit. ,,Really Howard?'' Wilhemina questions, her eyebrow perched up and her voice mirroring her annoyance. Billie simply shrugs, while you continue to observe carefully. And then with a swift motion and almost too quickly, Wilhemina gets up, reaching for her cane, her steps echoing through the room as she walks towards you, noticing your worried expression. ,,I'm going to make some tea, would you like some little one?'' she asks and you simply nod, unsure how to interject.
Billie and you follow behind as the redhead walks down the stairs, almost a little slower than usual and you can't help but notice the way her right foot was limping a bit, ever so slightly but that wasn't usually there. And as your eyes meet the mediums, the same expression is on her face but you remain silent, knowing you couldn't bring this up now. Billie observes quietly as she stands by the doorframe of the kitchen, taking turns between scrolling on her phone and lighting another cigarette. You stand almost frozen as you watch the redhead walk up to the kettle, struggling as her shaky hands fill it up with water. And then comes the first challenge as you had clumsily put the tea back on one of the top shelves, needing a little stool before as one of the girls had put it there you assume. And you scold yourself internally, usually being so mindful of the redhead around the academy and wanting to make everything accessible for her.
,,Mina let me help'' you usher, walking over to her but she glares at you then, her features filled with anger, hating to be treated like a child as you never would have offered the same with Billie or Cordelia. And you halt in your steps, Billie watching the scene unfold quietly as your heart breaks in front of you. But you can't help it, knowing by now she was upset but wanting to help, wanting to make things easier, not wanting her to hurt by reaching for the tea herself.
,,Mina, I'm sorry I must have put it up there by accident earlier, let me get it'' you try again but her stubbornness takes over as she glares at you again, abandoning her cane on the kitchen counter and stepping onto the little stool ,,I am more than capable-'' she begins but she doesn't get to finish as fate decides to have a turn. And then just as the front door opens, Cordelia returning with some shopping bags and a smile on her face, excited to see her girlfriends, Wilhemina slips, her heels scraping against the stool as she loses her balance, her hand pathetically trying to hold onto something but there was nothing to hold onto. And despite Billie dropping her cigarette, Cordelia trying to move quickly and you leaving your frozen state and lunging forward she slips, falling backwards, the thud that follows sending waves of pain through your heart and her back.
There is a split moment of silence, the room frozen as the seconds tick by, Wilhemina on the floor, Cordelia almost by the kitchen now, Billie and you watching in shock. And you all heard it, that crack and as you all snap awake, you see her ankle and the way you could only imagine what just happened and how much that must hurt. ,,Mina'' you call out, ever so quietly as you finally find the ability to breathe and walk again, quick by her side as you kneel in front of her. Her eyes are closed, not from unconsciousness but pain and the medium and supreme are quick by her side as well, Cordelia dropping the shopping bags and Billie quickly abandoning her cigarette in the sink.
,,Honey?'' Cordelia tries, gently taking her swollen and red ankle into her hands but she flinches at her touch then. Opening her eyes, you see a fire in them, anger but also tears but she definitely knows how to fight those back. ,,I'm fine'' she is quick to compose herself and sit up, ignoring the waves of pain crashing over her body. ,,Darling, let us help'' Billie tries, feeling awful that she simply stood and watched this unfold. And as Wilhemina scans her surroundings, trying to find wherever she had abandoned her cane, Cordelia tries again ,,Honey, your ankle looks hurt, let me check'' she fusses but for good reason. However she is having none of it ,,Leave it'' she scolds almost hissing, her voice filled with venom. And you can tell, you can tell she didn't want this, didn't want to be fussed, didn't want any help, all she wanted was to get up and her cane. And so you stand up, quickly reaching for her cane and handing it to her. And as her eyes meet yours, they mirror some gratefulness, the anger slowly subsiding.
And so she takes her cane into her hand, the stubbornness winning over as she simply gets back up, as if she didn't just break her ankle, as if this wasn't the second time she had fallen this week, despite remaining quiet about it. As if she hadn't hurt her ankle this week already at work but putting on a brave face. As if everything within her just wanted to cry and let the pain win over. But that side always won and so the three of you back away a little, Cordelia's hand lingering behind the redhead to at least be able to help if she lost her balance again, Billie taking some steps away, giving Wilhemina space. And then she stands there again, composed, as if nothing happened, taking a deep breath, before leaving, definitely wanting to be alone now. You watch in pain as she exits the kitchen, even slower than usual walking away, leaving the three of you behind in pain, as the sound of the kettle startles you, a painful reminder that this was all your fault due to your foolishness of leaving the tea on the top shelf.
,,Mina-'' you try one more time, tears lingering in your eyes but she doesn't pay you any attention, simply walking up the stairs, carrying the whole world of pain on her tired shoulders. Billie is quick to leave, abandoning all of this to cool off, to have a cigarette outside, wanting to be alone and deal with this herself. And so it leaves you and Cordelia, the supreme watching in pain as the redhead finally makes it up the stairs and back to her office, you a shivering mess in front of her. ,,Sweetheart'' she tries, moving closer to you and placing her hand on your shoulder to get you to turn around. And when you do, your face filled with tears, she takes you into her arms as you sob quietly into her chest, her holding you, despite not having the full picture on what had happened.
Cordelia is quick to turn the kettle off, to rid you of the painful sound and reminder on what happened, before sitting you down at the table, kneeling in front of you. And for the first time today, you really see your girlfriend, taking in her features as she looks ethereal as ever, wearing a black slightly see-through flower patterned blouse, her usual black long flowy pants and some heels. Her features are filled with concern and worry before she speaks softly ,,Darling, what happened?'' she asks quietly, placing her hands on your knees, rubbing little circles on them to comfort you. Her eyes reassuring you it was okay and she was going to fix it but that she needed all the details.
,,I- I'' you struggle to find your words, focusing in order to make your tears and pathetic breathing stop and return to normal. ,,I didn't see Mina a lot today and me and Billie checked on her'' you begin, the supreme listening intently. ,,And I think she got a little annoyed with us'' you admit, thinking back to the conversation in Wilhemina's office. ,,She came down to make some tea'' you explain further before your gaze averts her, catching a glimpse of Billie returning and heading to the hallway, to collect the dropped bags from Cordelia. ,,It was my fault'' you admit, meeting her brown eyes before her eyebrows furrow. ,,I- I made her some tea around lunch time and I must have placed it on the shelf- I'm sorry'' you cry but Delia is quick to shush you. ,,Hey sweetie, it's okay'' she coos, pulling you forward and back into her safe arms. ,,You couldn't have known darling, this isn't on you'' she reassures.
And then Billie startles you, despite not meaning to as she places the bags neatly on the table, wanting to desperately help out as she is feeling utterly useless in this whole situation. ,,I think'' Billie begins as she clears her throat, catching yours and Cordelia's attention. ,,I think there is something off'' she announces, nervously unpacking the groceries. ,,She seemed off this week and-'' she stops herself then before looking to you. ,,I can't be the only one who noticed the limping earlier, babydoll?'' she questions only to be met with your agreement. ,,When she walked downstairs she was limping on that ankle already'' you confess to Cordelia, hoping the supreme could fix this, could help your Mina. And again, the supreme listens intently, slowly understanding by getting the full picture.
Silence fills the kitchen as the blonde tries to weigh her options, knowing how stern Wilhemina was and knowing there wasn't really a right way to approach this. ,,I'll try and talk to her'' she announces after a little while and you and Billie simply nod gratefully. Before the supreme gets ready to leave, you stop her. ,,Wait'' you call out, quickly walking over to the counter and finishing what Mina had tried to do in the first place. ,,Can you take this up?'' you ask, your eyes pleading with her as you hand her a cup of tea. She smiles then, before taking it and pressing a kiss to your forehead, adoring your kindness. And when Cordelia walks upstairs, Billie comes up from behind, wrapping her arms around you protectively. ,,How about we get a head start on that dinner?'' she murmurs and you simply nod, wanting to help out both Cordelia and Mina, hoping the supreme could calm her enough to join you for dinner.
And while the two of you begin, Cordelia finds herself knocking on the redheads office, waiting for a reply but knowing there wasn't going to be any. And so she enters, pushing aside the voice in her head telling her not to but refusing to let her girlfriend struggle in silence. ,,Mina darling?'' she tries as she enters. She finds her office empty, but hearing a faint noise from the bathroom and so she closes the door, abandoning the tea cup on her desk, finding another cup there, assuming it was the one you had taken up to her hours before, despite it being left untouched. The door to the bathroom is closed and so she knocks again, this time a little more urgently ,,Darling?'' she tries, her voice betraying her concern and anxiety. And Wilhemina stands by the mirror, tears lingering in her eyes as she holds onto a bottle of her pain medication, the pain of her ankle almost killing her but the guilt weighing more heavily on her as she didn't mean for her stubbornness to win over again.
She ignores the supreme, her pleas to open the door, as she contemplates what to do, whether to finally just open up and let those walls tumble down. But the voice has the upper hand again, causing for her to simply extract two more pills, quickly swallowing them, before composing herself and opening the door, again as if nothing had happened. ,,Are you okay?'' Cordelia whispers, her eyebrows furrowed and the redhead simply nods, brushing past her and taking a seat on her armchair again, Cordelia of course noticing the limping and trying hard to contain her emotions. And so the supreme stands there, unsure what to do or say. ,,Here'' she softly tries, walking over to her desk and handing her the cup of tea, hoping it could at least coax her out a little. Wilhemina takes it almost hesitantly, abandoning it again on the little table next to her, wanting nothing more than to be left alone.
,,You need to let me take a look darling'' she announces, her voice sounding a little firm, glancing at Wilhemina's red and swollen ankle. And as Cordelia kneels down in front of her, the redhead watches carefully but there was always something about the blonde that made her falter even a little bit. And so as Cordelia inspects it carefully, hovering her hands above it while she closes her eyes, Wilhemina simply watches in silence, ignoring the voice for once. And as Cordelia looks up, noticing how the red and swelling didn't go, how the pain was still there in her girlfriends eyes, she knows this was more severe than her magic could fix. ,,Honey, I'm afraid it may be broken, otherwise my magic could have fixed it'' she announces and Wilhemina simply scoffs then. ,,Darling, I need you to see a doctor'' she tries, again firmly but her eyes still portraying the usual gentleness. ,,I will do no such thing' she scoffs again, averting her gaze.
,,Mina darling'' Cordelia tries again but the redhead is having none of it. ,,I'll be fine Cordelia, just stop worrying'' she hisses but then something snaps within the supreme, not being able to take her stubbornness for a second longer, especially if her wellbeing was at risk. ,,No you aren't fine Wilhemina'' the blonde blurts out, her eyes meeting hers. ,,You are hurting and we can all see it and you have been hurting all week'' she exclaims. And then Wilhemina's eyes meet hers, locking with her girlfriends, maybe the slight sternness from her girlfriend, finally causing some walls to break down.
,,What happened this week?'' Cordelia asks, noticing the redheads confusion ,,The first time this happened?'' she questions and Wilhemina almost cries then, unsure how exactly the supreme had figured it out but all the pain finally faltering. And in response, Wilhemina lets the tears flow, a very rare occasion, tears of pain, physical pain from her back, ankle and her tired bones. Heartache from treating you three like this before and having to remain so stoic and stubborn all the time. And Cordelia doesn't push for answers, simply letting her fall apart in front of her, not saying anything as she knows words are too much, simply placing a comforting warm hand on her girlfriends knees as she continues to kneel in front of her.
Meanwhile Billie and you had finished cooking and as the food simmers, you watch as the blonde paces a little, sighing in frustration. ,,Billie?'' you question gently, noticing how her mood suddenly changed a little and how agitated she seems. ,,I'm sure she broke her ankle'' the medium sighs, fiddling nervously with her nails. You can't help but equally sigh, frustrated with how this day turned out and not able to feel anything but guilt. Silence fills the room as you think about it for a moment, only now realising that if this was true, neither you or Cordelia could fix this for your girlfriend as your magic didn't allow and work that way. ,,I really think we should get her to see a doctor'' you sigh, propping yourself up on the kitchen counter as your legs dangle away. ,,She won't go to see one'' Billie huffs, taking a safe distance away from the food and lighting a cigarette in frustration. And then suddenly, an idea pops into your head and Billie can tell by the way you bite your lip, how you always did that, almost biting the words away.
,,What is it babydoll?'' Billie questions, a cloud of smoke surrounding her ,,You know that friend of yours you have mentioned? the one that does visits?'' you ask, remembering how Billie knew all sorts of celebrities and always talked about this specific one, knowing Wilhemina hated hospitals and doctors and she wouldn't go to a place she didn't know, her usual doctors not being an option considering it being the weekend and evening now. And as the revelation registers in the mediums brain, she is quick to abandon her cigarette, reach for her phone and walk into the hallway, pacing in circles as she usually did whenever she was on the phone. And as you listen carefully, not to pry, but to get Mina the help she needed as quick as possible, you hear Billie set all the details. ,,Thank you'' you exclaim with a soft and grateful smile. The medium returns your gentleness with brushing her nails across your cheeks, before kissing your forehead. ,,Thank you babydoll, for being so smart and always listening to me ramble'' she jokes almost, before you watch her ascend the stairs.
And you follow behind, not wanting to disturb either of them but to simply listen and be of assistance if anyone needed anything. And so, Billie Dean walks into Wilhemina's office, not knocking, not really caring, thankfully the supreme having wiped the redheads tears by now. ,,Alright, I don't care what either of you say but-'' Billie begins, pointing her fingers at both of them, earning a small smirk from Cordelia at her antics and even Wilhemina smirks at least internally at her dramatic entrance. ,,I have called one of my close friends, she's a doctor and will be here to do a house call in about 20 minutes''. As she finishes her sentence, Cordelia's face grows a little pale, anxious as she wasn't sure whether she had already gotten Wilhemina to the point where she would be willing to accept help. And as the redhead glances around the room, she notices the anxiousness in both Cordelia and Billie's faces, awaiting her response and as she for the first time notices your presence, as you almost hide behind Billie still feeling guilty and overall horrible that she was suffering so much, she falters, still composed and graceful as ever of course.
,,Alright, thank you Billie'' she announces, both blonde heads snapping in her direction as neither of them expected it. ,,You're welcome and I promise she's great'' Billie assures, giving the redhead a gentle and warm smile. ,,I'm going to go and check on dinner, maybe we can all eat together after she's finished with you Venable?'' Billie jokes, trying to lighten the mood a little and despite everything earning a low chuckle from the redhead and a nod in agreement. ,,Would you like me to stay with you honey?'' Cordelia offers with a smile but as you follow behind Billie, she clears her throat ,,Actually- little one?'' she asks, instantly causing you to turn around and look at her. ,,Would you mind keeping me company?'' she offers, patting the seat next to her. As you glance at Cordelia, she smiles, giving Wilhemina a proud gaze as she leaves you both to it.
,,Come here little one'' she offers, patting her lap as her brown eyes search yours, but you don't feel comfortable considering the pain she must be in and so all you do is take a seat beside her, playing with your rings as a nervous habit. The room fills with silence as Wilhemina watches you intently, trying to think of something to say to get her little one to smile again. ,,I'm so sorry Mina'' you suddenly blurt out, taking you both by surprise. ,,I- I guess someone placed the tea there and when I made you some tea I must have put it back up there'' you cry, tears flowing freely from your eyes as you squeeze them shut. ,,I'm sorry that you are hurting Mina, it's all my fault''. And as she hears your words and takes in your sobbing form, she can't help but fight her own back, how you could ever blame yourself for this, considering this was all due to her own stubbornness and refusing to let you help her. ,,Little one'' she tries, the back of her hand brushing over your cheeks to wipe your tears. ,,None of this is your fault, you have been so kind and gentle and well I- I have just been me'' she admits and this causes you to look at her, your eyes locking with her brown ones.
The two of you are quickly interrupted when Billie knocks on the door, exposing one of her famous doctor friends, who enters with some supplies and two bags. ,,I'll leave you to it'' Billie announces softly, glancing at you and Wilhemina before giving you some space. As the older woman introduces herself to Wilhemina, you retreat from the chair, wanting to give them both some room and the doctor some space to do her examination and as Wilhemina glances at you, you see something in her eyes that you don't usually see, fear and the silent plea for you to stay close. And so you opt to stand behind where she is sitting, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder, not enough to hurt her but enough so she can feel you are there. The examination is over quickly, the doctor actually a little unsure whether the bone is broken or just fractured. ,,I recommend you to get an X-ray done tomorrow, I would gladly set up an appointment with Ms Howard for you'' she explains as she wraps up her things. ,,But I urge you to rest and maybe you can make sure she puts some ice on it and uses these creams'' the woman explains now addressing you directly and handing you some supplies. ,,Of course, thank you very much'' you thank her as you watch her wrap up her things and leave.
Cordelia and Billie wait anxiously downstairs until the doctor returns, having set the table for the four of you, hoping after the examination, a sense of normality would follow. ,,And?'' Billie Dean asks nervously as she fiddles with her nails yet again. ,,I can't confirm whether it's broken, I will need to do that at my practice but I'm happy to set up an appointment with you, for now I suggest rest and the medication that I have left with them both'' she confirms and Billie sighs in relief a little, unsure what exactly she was expecting but glad it doesn't seem too serious after all yet. ,,Thank you so much doctor'' Cordelia thanks her with a warm smile before Billie exclaims ,,Rest will be hard with her'' and she is met with a smile and nod from the supreme. ,,She seems tough'' Billie's friend exclaims as she gets ready to leave, Billie guiding her to the door ,,Oh yeah, she's a feisty one'' Billie chuckles before saying her goodbyes.
Meanwhile you kneel in front of your girlfriend gently, glancing around the room a little anxiously before asking ,,Mina?'' and she is quick to hum as a reply, meeting your eyes. ,,May I help you please?'' you ask, your voice filled with gentleness, not an ounce of judging or wanting to coddle her. And so she simply nods, meeting your eyes, a little unsure how to actually accept help when given. ,,Would you like if we get you in some more comfortable clothes?'' you ask and after thinking about it, she nods and you are quick to leave her for a moment to get the necessary things. In a heartbeat you return as you help her gently into some new clothes, with her consent putting some of the cream on her swollen ankle, promising to get her some ice as well. ,,Do you need any more pain medication?'' you ask carefully but she shakes her head, remembering she already had the highest doses today.
,,Would you like to eat downstairs? I could easily take something up here for you'' you try but she shakes her head, already reaching for her cane as she carefully balances on it. And as she walks towards you, a little slower than usual, you smile, grateful and proud that for once your stoic Mina accepted help, despite all the circumstances leading to this. ,,Little one?'' she asks as she holds out her free hand to you. ,,Thank you'' is the words that follow after and it almost brings tears to your eyes then, watching her soften up. And so as you and Wilhemina moments later, walk down the stairs together, Billie and Cordelia watch with expressions filled with love and proudness. And as the four of you finally enjoy each other's company for the night, Cordelia insisting on Wilhemina putting up her leg on a nearby chair and you fetching an ice pack for her, Billie gushing about her doctor friend a little and praising herself mostly, it all comes full circle.
And despite the pain and the unknown of whether your girlfriend in fact really broke her angle, the anxiety of having to get the checks done, waiting for the result and the painful weeks to follow, tonight is another reminder that maybe Wilhemina didn't need to keep her walls so high all the time, at least not with you three. Maybe she could allow Cordelia's hovering at times, Billie's suggestions that sometimes sounded awful but ended up being good in the end and maybe even your kind and gentleness towards her. And as the evening wears on slowly, the mood outside of the safe walls of the academy lightens as well as a bright sunset filled with red and oranges fills the sky, illuminating the kitchen, almost matching Wilhemina's mood as of right now, everything felt right, being with each other.

The end of the world hadn’t been what you were expecting. It hadn’t been a slow build to something, climate change not the cause. Missiles, as the news announced, felt so stark and impersonal in the face of the death they wrought. You hadn’t even had the chance to feel the fear or the loss or the anxiety before hands had clasped around your arms and you were being escorted into a massive SUV.
Kicking and screaming brought blank stares, no one bothering to step in. Tears were running down your face but you were hardly the only one. The missiles were on the way and you were just another person facing this overwhelming truth. The world was ending and you were being kidnapped.
You would never get the chance to kiss your girlfriend goodbye.
You were bundled underground, into some kind of bunker built for the rich and powerful. You tried, over and over again, to tell them that they had the wrong person. You weren’t rich. You weren’t powerful. You were nothing and no one.
In a room, questions unanswered, you were left to stew. Firelight licked up the walls, shadows dancing, putting you on edge. You saw no one else, alone, the silence uncaring as you screamed at them to let you go. When the screaming ran out, tears fell down your cheeks. It was beginning to sink in just how alone you truly were. There must be other people in whatever place it was, but your family was gone, your girlfriend, your friends, everyone you’d ever known. They were all gone and you remained.
It was a cruel mistake.
You sunk into a chair eventually, curling up in it. Time was moving but you couldn’t feel it, the numb feeling growing in your chest. Your life had changed and you weren’t sure you wanted it. You wanted your life back or to have perished with everyone you loved. Not whatever this was.
The tears stopped. The numb feeling grew. You stared into the fire, wondering when it would consume your body. At some point, you knew, it would.
You ignored the sound of approaching footsteps. Your chin rested on your knees, arms curled around bent legs, staring at the flames until they were all you could see. No one could make it better. Of that you were sure.
A sharp tap of a cane on the floor had you stiffening. Their cruelty knew no bounds. You squeezed your eyes shut, refusing to let any more tears fall. They weren’t going to break you, no matter what this torture was. Maybe you had died and this was hell.
Another sharp tap of the cane so much closer and you half turned your head towards the sound. Your eyes scanned up from shoes hidden under a long dress, a dark cane held in pale hands. Your heart gave a small flutter. The further up, the more familiar the figure standing in the doorway was becoming.
Dark eyes were staring at you from a mask like face. Hair you’d once run your fingers through was pinned up. Lips you knew the taste of were pressed into a thin line. Your mouth grew dry.
“Mina,” you breathed, rising from your seat.
You couldn’t believe it. She was standing there, right in front of you, looking none the worse for wear. She was perfect. Your heart was thudding in your chest, loud in your ears, and she was right there. You could touch her, if you just reached out, because she. Was. Right. There.
“You will call me Ms Venable.” Her voice was so cold.
“But-“
Her hand shot out, open palm striking your skin. You gaped at her, the sting bringing tears to your eyes. She was staring at you, daring you to argue and you didn’t know what was happening. This wasn’t your Mina. Your hand trembled as you raised it, lightly touching the skin that bore her handprint.
“Yes Ms Venable,” you whispered, not even aware you were doing it.
Your eyes focused on your feet, your breathing shallow, the sting of her slap still echoing through your body. The end of the world had taken her from you, but not through death, through transformation. Pushing the tears back once again, you caught your lower lip between your teeth, biting down until the coppery tang of blood bloomed on your tongue.
“Welcome to Outpost Three,” Ms Venable said, and her voice was so familiar it hurt.
“Thank you,” you said.
“As a Purple you’ll be supplied a furnished suite,” she said.
Your eyes flashed up, purple meaning something more than whatever she was suggesting.
“Purple?” you asked.
“One of the elite.” Her voice practically purred and your entire body felt like a live wire, “come.”
You moved on shuffling feet, following behind her as she walked with such confidence. You had no idea when she’d been shown this place. She’d never spoken of it, never even hinted at something like it. All those years together and not once had this ever entered into your life. Until the end of the world.
The end of the world she knew about?
She explained the rules to you, your arms slowly tightening around your body. None of it felt real. None of it was reasonable. You’d stepped into a world where nothing made sense and nothing was okay. Your Mina was gone and yet was also standing right there.
Standing there but different. Your Mina would never wear black, purple the colour she wore at all times. You didn’t like it. She never wore her hair so pinned up, so severe. While you could appreciate how it showed off the long line of her neck and the cut of her jaw, the sway of her hair had been a constant in your life. At least the scent of lavender seemed to cling to her, not quite hidden. Yours gaze slid over her body, finding her more a stranger than was comfortable.
You stepped through the door she indicated into your suite, should brushing against hers. That familiar scent of lavender lingered in the air of the room. You breathed in deeply, eyes slipping closed for a moment, letting yourself imagine for a moment that the world hadn’t changed so drastically. You turned, looking at her, eyes sweeping over someone that once had been as familiar to you as your own reflection.
“I don’t understand,” you said.
“Which part?” Cruelty was the flavour of her voice.
“All of it. I mean, I know about the missiles but why am I here? I’m not anyone,” you asked.
For the first time, something in her eyes seemed to break apart and hastily be put back together again.
“You must have been important to someone in power,” she said, “if you find yourself so inconsequential.”
You looked at her, really looked at her. You’d woken that morning to her already having left the house. There was a vague memory of lips pressed to your forehead before rolling over. There’d been no note, not indication anything was going to be different. You’d slept last night with her warmth beside you, arms around you, breathing in time with one another. Now… now she was so far from the bed you’d once shared and you had no idea how to get back to it.
“I suppose so,” you replied, voice soft, letting her have the out she was looking for, “thank you, Ms Venable.”
She gave you a short nod before turning on her heels and walking away, the tap of her cane lingering long after she was gone.
The closing door was quiet and so was the sigh that passed over your lips. You didn’t know what to do with yourself. The world had ended but Mina was still there with you. But different. Not your Mina. Ms Venable. Not the woman who would come home at the end of the day and slip into the bath with you, but something new. Someone you’d never known before.
You wandered through the suite. It was plush, expensive, nicer than the home you’d shared with Mina. You didn’t know what to do with it. The world had ended and you were living in luxury. You couldn’t wrap your mind around it.
In the large closet, purple stared back at you from every corner. You ran your fingers of the materials, finding that each item was beautiful. Each one was perfect. Someone had put a lot of thought into curating the wardrobe you were to have in the end days. You shook your head, not sure what to do with that information. None of it was making any sense to you.
You were slow to dress and by the time you found your way to the dining room, it looked as if you were the last to join them. Mina was sitting at the head of the table. You couldn’t look at her, not without a wound in your chest opening up again. You felt the weight of the other gazes on you, not looking up from the hands clasped in your lap.
One weighed heavier than the others.
You’d dressed carefully, in the dress you thought shed’d like the most on you. It was soft, delicate, almost romantic. You couldn’t bare facing her only to be met with disdain. It had been a message that you would do what she wished to please her.
You’d keep to whatever role she was placing you in. Just sharing the same space as her would have to be enough in your new reality. You could be perfect for her, if that’s what she needed from you. Even now, when she wasn’t your Mina, you’d still do whatever you could for her.
Thank god your therapist hadn’t survived the end of the world or she’d have a lot to say about that.
You kept your interactions with the other Purples to a minimum. You found them insipid at the best of times, and you craved the attention of only one person in the entire Outpost. Instead, you watched the way she terrorised them. She stalked the halls, doling out discipline as she saw fit, lurking in the shadows just to catch them breaking the rules. The joy she seemed to get from it seemed so different from the woman you’d known on the outside, and yet you’d seen glimmers of it sometimes. On her worst days, mostly.
You didn’t find it any less intriguing, though. You might have been willing to play along with her facade of being nothing but strangers, but you still noticed that left you with less of her attention than the others. It might have been bad attention, but at least it was attention. You craved it, like it was the air you breathed. Where once the weight of her gaze ws comforting and familiar, now it felt exciting in its scarceness.
And then there was Ms Mead. Her right hand, her confidant, her trusted advisor. A kernel of jealousy curled behind your ribs, hissing in your ears that you’d been replaced. That she didn’t need you anymore. That she didn’t want you.
So you decided to do something drastic if only to prove to yourself that you were still burrowed in her heart.
It was slow, not wanting her to catch on before you were ready. You took your time, inching towards the group of Purples day by day until you were sitting with their group, listening to them talk. No one questioned it, no one pointed out you’d spent months ignoring them, now seeking them out.
Gallant was the first to notice your sarcastic comments, muttered under your breath. Catching your eye whenever Coco said something, a shared smile, the sting of friendship was surprisingly painful after months kept to yourself. He would sit beside you, the two of you sharing barbs.
If Mina noticed the change, she didn’t show it.
So you amped it up. You whispered with Mallory in dark corners, you complimented Coco loudly, you shared smiles with Dinah. In short, you did all you could to show her she no longer had your attention either. That you’d moved on. That if she didn’t want you then you weren’t going to sit around waiting for her forever.
Her eyes began to trail you throughout the twisting halls of the outpost.
One more turn of the cog. Standing in your wardrobe, the handpicked clothes for you by the woman who knew you better than anyone, you considered each one with a critical eye. Yes, the one in the far corner, tucked away as if she hadn’t wanted you to find it. That was the one.
The lavender slip dress was silk, so soft against your skin. Clinging to your figure, a cowl neckline and slit up to your thigh, it was sexier than anything else you’d worn, nothing like the Victorian inspired fashion you’d grown used to. But she had left it for you and it felt like a challenge.
You pinned your hair up, not as sever as her, softer, more romantic. You looked in the mirror, doing your best to effect the wide eyed look of innocence you knew you’d need to sell the whole ideal. Give her something to ruin.
You waited, just long enough to know you would be the last to sit down to dinner. Not late, but on the cusp. Stepping into the dining room, it was like a slow wave, faces turning to you, only one looking less than pleased.
You took your usual seat beside Gallant, ignoring the one woman you were trying so hard for. Some eyes were still lingering on you, Coco to be exact, and she looked put out at your appearance.
“Nice dress,” Gallant said, leaning towards you but in the quiet room his voice carried.
“Thank you,” you said, smoothing one hand over your thighs, “I found it in my room and thought why not? No point wasting something so pretty.”
Your eyes looked past him, finding Ms Venable watching you. There was fire in her eyes and you didn’t fail to notice the way her fingers clenched on the head of her cane. With a small smile you turned your face away, looking down at the gelatinous cube on your plate. Hardly your favourite meal but given it was the only one in existence you’d take it.
Your dragged your eyes up again, Coco looking at you with a cocked head. You offered her a wink, smirking at her. It wasn’t so much a feeling as a shift in the atmosphere. A tap of the cane on the ground, your thighs clenching together.
The meal was as unsatisfying as ever. Well, the food was. The eyes that you kept drawing to yourself were not. Arching your back, your neck, letting your fingers trail over your collarbone, laughing softly in Gallant’s ear, letting your teeth sink into your lower lip. You were using all the tricks that had once worked on her. The tricks that also led to you pinned to the mattress moaning her name.
No one said you had to play fair.
Once the meal was over, you slid your arm through Gallant’s, letting your hips sway, not bothering to offer a parting look to the woman who still owned your heart. He escorted you into the library, the infernal song making you purse your lips.
“So tell me,” he murmured under the cover of Coco’s complaints, “who’s benefit is this little number for?”
“I don’t know what you mean,” you replied, smiling at him, letting him know you were lying.
“You do know sex is strictly forbidden,” he said.
“Who said anything about sex?” you laughed, “nothing wrong with being desired.”
“Did you really find this dress in your wardrobe?” he asked.
“Would you believe my answer if I said yes?”
“Not for a moment,” he replied, “but whoever it is, they’re going to find you hard to resist.”
You sat in the corner of the sofa closest to the fire. The light, flickering over your skin, would be temptation in itself. Gallant seated himself beside you, his eyes scanning over the room, most likely trying to ferret out which of the other Purples you were trying to seduce. The woman moving through the room, taking her position with her back to the fire, was ignored by him. You smiled down into your lap before looking up at her. The glare you received in return was nasty.
You only stayed long enough to not raise suspicions. You squeezed Gallant’s shoulder as you left, getting an indulgent smile in return. The air in your room was stale and yet it continued to hold notes of lavender, even so many months later. You sat on your bed, face turned towards the door.
She didn’t leave you waiting long.
The knock on your door was perfunctory. You were slow to rise, wanting her to wait. Pulling the door open you didn’t have the chance to say anything before a hand was curling around your throat and pushing back into the room. Your hand snapped up, fingers curling around the delicate wrist, but you didn’t try to pull it from you. The door closed quietly behind her.
“You have been making a spectacle of yourself,” she said, squeezing.
“And you’ve been enjoying the show,” you shot back, breathless and hoarse.
She snarled, throwing you back. You stumbled, doing your best not to trip over your own feet. She advanced, slow and steady, each tap of the cane making you lose a little more of your breath. Her eyes swept over your body, looking less than impressed with what she found.
“You think too highly of yourself and your little display,” she said.
You took a step into her personal space, feeling her familiar warmth wash over your exposed skin. Her eyes darted down your body again, lingering on your lips for a moment before meeting yours. You pulled those lips up into a smirk, leaning forward.
“And I think you look at me and remember exactly what I sound like when I orgasm on your tongue,” you murmured.
“Insolence,” she growled, “your base desires are nothing of my concern.”
“Once they were only your concern,” you said, stepping back from her, “but I suppose you’re right. Someone else might want that job now.”
“No one will ever have that job,” she hissed.
“Yes yes, I know. No unauthorised sexual intercourse,” you said, rolling your eyes, enjoying the hint of jealousy in her voice.
Your hand slowly skimmed up your body, lingering on one breast. Her eyes zeroed in on it, darkening in a way that felt familiar. You brushed a thumb over a hardening nipple, a little gasp your only response.
“That doesn’t stop me fantasising about you every night with my fingers knuckle deep inside my pussy.”
Her throat bobbled.
“I used to just remember how it was. You, me, our bed or our bath or our kitchen counter,” you said as you pinched your nipple through the silk of your dress, “but then I got creative. Rather than Mina I had Ms Venable. Disciplining me. Tying me up. Bruising me. Choking me. Degrading me. I found I rather liked those fantasies.”
“You disgust me,” she growled.
“Then why are you thinking about using me for your own pleasure?”
Her eyes darkened and you saw her jaw clench. You knew her, better than you knew yourself. She’d never been good at hiding what she wanted from you, especially when what she wanted was you. You made small noise in the back of your throat as you tugged on your nipple, eyes fluttering closed at the shot of pleasure to your core.
A hand curled around your throat again, forcing you backwards until your back hit the wall. You didn’t bother opening your eyes, rolling your nipple, her name a soft exhalation. Lips brushed the shell of your ear and the scent of lavender curled around you.
“You’re nothing but a dirty whore ruled by your own animal instincts,” she growled in your ear.
“Uh huh,” you hummed, her words lighting your blood on fire. She’d never been one for this before, when it was sweet and soft and full of reassurances. You were having fun exploring this side of her.
“Pathetic,” she snarled, “do you really think this will end well for you?”
“I think it’ll end well for you,” you all but gasped, “you know how good I am with my tongue.”
Her fingers tightened around your throat, cutting off your air supply. Your back arched into your own touch, her warmth brushing against your bare skin. Your eyes opened, finding her watching you, teeth biting into her bottom lip. You lent into her hold, eyes focused on that lip, wanting to bite it until you tasted her blood.
“You want me to use you?” she hissed, “would that bring you pleasure?”
You nodded, watching her lips form the words. You could still remember what they felt like against your skin. They curled up into a cruel smirk.
“On your knees, slut.”
With the hand around your neck she forced you down. You looked up at her from under your lashes, tongue dragging along your lower lip. She let you go, stepping back. With careful movements she set her cane aside, sitting on the edge of your bed. She crooked a finger at you.
You crawled across the floor on hands and knees, practically panting at the thought of getting your mouth on her after so many months. She raised her foot, pressing it against your shoulder, holding you back, heel digging in painfully.
“You think you deserve to touch me?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
“I do,” you said, not even having to think about, “name one person who knows your body better than me. Name someone who can make you feel as good as I can.”
“Whose to say I haven’t found someone here?” she asked. That same jealousy curled in your gut, whispering in your ear, telling you Ms Mead had replaced you. She didn’t need you.
“Let me prove it,” you begged, surprised by how much you needed it.
“And what have you done to earn the honour?” she asked, “you choose to debase yourself in front of me. You flaunt your body as if that will impress me. You associate with degenerates and air heads. You are nothing and you will never amount to more than nothing.”
“Please,” you breathed, “please let me do this for you.”
Her foot dropped from your shoulder. You crawled forward again, unhindered. You stopped between her feet, dragging your eyes up her body. She was staring down at you, those dark eyes unimpressed but so intent on you.
Your hands skimmed up her calves, finding bare skin under your fingers. You pushed her skirt up, admiring the line of her leg. Your brought your lips to her right leg, finally touching her soft skin, tongue darting out to taste her. So familiar and yet so different.
“Hurry this up,” she growled, “I have places to be.”
“Yes, Ms Venable,” you said, lips brushing her skin.
Her legs parted further, giving you room to continue your exploration up her legs. She was still watching you, hands resting on your comforter, eyes darkening as your fingers slid over her knees. Your nose skimmed along her inner thigh before your breath caught.
Mina had always splurged on nice lingerie. It had been one of those things you’d loved. Silk and lace and satin. Always in shades of purple. She seemed to get a kick out of each new one revealed to you, the way your eyes would widen before you wouldn’t be able to keep your hands off her. She planned it to perfection, each reveal making your head spin and desire pool between your legs.
If you’d considered the opportunity for lingerie in the Outpost, it was usually drawn from your imagination, your desire of what you’d like to see Mina in. In reality, you expected something functional, perfunctory, much like you’d found in your own wardrobe. Functional over aesthetic. Basic and simple, serving a purpose beyond stoking desire.
What you hadn’t expected was for her to forego underwear altogether.
Right there, easily accessible, her centre was glistening in the firelight. Fingers tangled in your hair, tugging until a sharp pain in your skull caught your attention. You tipped your head back, finding her staring at you.
“Problem?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
Her act of indifference might have worked better if you couldn’t see the effect you’d already had on her. Her fingers tightened in your hair again, pulling past the point of pleasure.
“No, Ms Venable,” you replied, lowering your eyes back to her pretty pussy.
The hand on the back of your head forced you forward, headfirst where she wanted you most.
“Then get to work. Prove to me you’re the best slut I have on offer.”
Your tongue darted out, licking through her folds. The fingers in your hair tightened again. You did it again, revelling in her taste. You’d missed it, more than you’d realised. You hummed, eyes closing as you treasured the moment, tongue delving deeper. You wanted her taste on your tongue forever.
When you ghosted over her clit her fingers clenched. You did it again, wanting to feel the pull. The sharp pain was making your legs feel like jelly. You hadn’t thought that would be something you liked, but then you hadn’t thought you’d like this new Mina before you’d met her. But she was fun, opening up a whole new world of exploration for you.
You let your lips wrap around it, slow to suck. She forced your head harder against her, grinding against you. Your tongue flicked out, determined to hear her moan. The sound of it haunted your dreams. You craved it. You yearned for it. It would fulfil your dreams.
She kept silent.
Your arms hooked around her thighs, keeping them open as you pressed closer in. Your tongue lapped at her, circling her bundle of nerves, feeling her hips rise to meet you. You hummed again, tongue thrusting into her. Her legs pressed in, ignoring your hold on them, contracting around your head.
“Fucking whore,” she hissed, “so desperate for me. It’s pitiful. You disgust me.”
You tried to plunge further in, wanting her to feel you. Your nose bumped against her clit. She forced your head forward, grinding against you, uncaring of how you might be feeling. Your tongue was working hard, thrusting into her, setting a pace that you weren’t sure you could keep up. You looked up, watching the way her face contorted in pleasure. Her lips fell open in a silent moan, eyes closing. You stroked at her internal walls.
“I’m sure I’m your favourite taste. You’d stay there on your knees all day if I’d let you lick at me like a desperate little whore. Would you service me whenever I asked?” You knew you would.
You pulled your tongue from within her, wrapping your lips around her clit. You prised your fingers from her thigh, replacing your tongue, pushing them in until you could curl them, finding the place within her you knew so well.
She moaned.
“Maybe I should take you with me to dinner, have you feed under the table, at my feet as you deserve. Or would you rather eat from me instead? Let the rest of them know what a desperate little slut you are.”
You pressed your thighs together. Your fingers were slow as they pumped inside her, stroking and curling, twisting in a way you’d found she’d liked so much so many months before when the world was still the one you knew. You were sucking on her clit, her fingers pressing you harder, grinding hard against your tongue. The thigh you still held was beginning to tremble and her words were becoming breathy.
“Or maybe I should have you laid out on the table, touching yourself through dinner, let everyone see the control I have over you. Debase yourself in front of them. Show your shame to them all. Remind them you’re nothing but a dirty whore who earned her place here with her body, not through worthwhile means.”
You whined. Her laugh was breathless, fingers in your hair tightening. you could feel your own arousal beginning to drip down your thigh, her words only spurring you on. You wanted all of it, everything she was describing. You wanted her claiming you in front of them. You wanted to debase yourself, her words controlling you, begging her for release for everyone to hear. She owned you, body and soul, and it had taken the end of the world for you to realise how true that was.
“Even Coco is more worthy of her spot here. All you have is your body. Nothing but an object for my pleasure.”
You stroked the spot within her you’d always been able to find in conjuncture with a sharp suck to her clit. Her head fell back, hips jumping forward. Her thighs were squeezing your head, hands forcing you against her. It was hard to breathe but it was unimportant to you, her rising pleasure all that mattered.
“Look best on your knees,” she panted, “desperate to please. Willing to debase yourself, making a spectacle of yourself, demeaning yourself. Think you can please me. Think I’ll like seeing you giving into your animalistic urges. So… So… pathetic.”
She groaned as her internal muscles clenched around your fingers. She was keeping you pinned against her pulsing core, riding your face as hard as she could. With your tongue tasting her, you wondered if she’d cum since the end of the world or if this was the first time in all those months.
Her breath was slow to even out. Your fingers slid from her, your tongue dragging over the skin of your palm to clean yourself up, not wanting to miss a drop of her.
She dragged you up, your knees screaming from being pressed against the stone ground for so long. She ignored your whimper, lips crashing against yours. Her tongue was in your mouth, almost lazy as she stole your breath, giving you what you’d been yearning for since entering the Outpost. It was like kissing your Mina again. Her other hand was pulling up your skirt, fingers skimming your skin, making you whine into her mouth.
With probing fingers she discovered you’d also forgone underwear, bare under her touch. She made a noise, drawing back from the kiss, a look of affected disgust crossing over her face. Her finger ghosted through your folds, lingering on your clit. Your breath froze in your lungs, hips stuttering towards her. She guided you down onto her still bare thigh, bare cunt against her skin.
She curled her lip, watching the way your lips sunk into your bottom lip. The feel of her against you was almost too much. Your hips rocked, a tiny movement that would have been unnoticeable if she hadn’t been watching you so intently.
Her hands grasped your hips, tight enough to leave bruises, keeping you still. You whined again, eyes begging her to let you move. You were dripping with need, her thigh already slick from your arousal. The curl of her lip was undercut by the gleam in her eye, self satisfied and interested in you.
“You disgust me,” she said, “nothing but your base urges motivating you.”
“Ms Venable,” you whined, “please.”
It was torture, being held like that, pressure on your clit but held still. Your breathing was erratic, need filling your veins. Her eyes swept over you, considering you, finding you wanting.
“Go on then,” she said, turning her eyes away from you as if she didn’t care, “rut like the animal you are.”
No matter how much disinterest she tried to affect, her hands were the ones guiding you against her thigh, tensing underneath you. Your head fell back, moaning loudly, wanting her to hear how much she still effected you. She was setting a tortuous pace, your clit slowly dragging over her skin. You were whimpering, trying to catch her eye again, wanting her to see how desperate you were.
Your hips rocked faster, harder, grinding down against her. She was slow to turn her gaze back to you, sweeping over your undulating body again. Her name mingled with pleas and thanks was all that fell from your lips. She snarled at you, only flooding you with more heat. You liked how she degraded you, even as she gave you the pleasure you were so desperate for.
Her fingers grasped your chin as your head began to tip back again, forcing you to look down at her. You moaned, staring in her eyes as your hips ground down, seeking out more pleasure. She growled, pressing her thigh up harder. You wanted to bury your fingers in her hair, feel the silky strands against your skin, pull the pins out so they’d tumble down her back. You wanted to kiss her deeply, burying your moans in her mouth. You wanted her to watch you come undone.
You made a small noise in the back of your throat, breathy and throaty, a half whine. Her eyes were watching you, lips pressed together, a flush high on her cheekbones, barely visible in the firelight. You were rocking against her, chasing your high, the spring tightening within you. Your fingers clenched around nothing, not knowing if you could touch her, muscles straining to the point of trembling.
“Aren’t you done yet?” she drawled.
Your breath caught, body tensing above her, your orgasm crashing into you. Wave after wave moved through you, her name sweet nectar on your tongue as you cried it. A smirk settled on her face, eyes practically smouldering, fingers tightening on your hips again. Your head fell forward, seeking out her lips.
She allowed you to kiss her, surprisingly soft. Her tongue stroked against yours and despite the fact your heart was still beating double time from your orgasm, heat stoked in your lower stomach again. You sunk your teeth into her lip, giving in to your impulse. A hand pressed between your shoulder blades, forcing you against her body. Soft supple curves pressed against yours, the rough fabric of her dress scraping your skin.
The kiss softened again, more reminiscent of times long since gone. You sighed into her mouth, hands finally landing on her shoulder, thumb brushing against her pulse point. With strength that had always surprised you, she lifted you from her thigh, laying you back on the bed. Her hands skimmed down your body, featherlight until you were thrumming under her fingers.
“I must admit,” she murmured against your lips, “I have missed you.”
“Really?” you asked, drawing back just far enough to see her properly.
“You are the owner of my heart, little one. Holding back from having you has been torture,” she said, fingers stroking through your hair, pulling leftover pins from it.
“Then why were you?” you asked, wondering how long you’d have your Mina back.
“Maintaining distance was necessary. I could smuggle you in but once here I couldn’t show any such favouritism. Not if I wished to remain in charge, unquestioned and complete,” she said, “and you made it so incredibly difficult, little one. I felt those beautiful eyes watching me, looking so lost and hurt. All I wanted was to take that hurt away.”
“I just didn’t understand how I’d lost you. The end of the world and you were there but you weren’t and I had no one.”
Her fingers were still running through your hair, comforting and soft. Her other arm curled around your waist, rolling until she was lying on the bed, holding you close. You rested your head on her shoulder, pressing yourself to her with a level of neediness you didn’t usually feel around her. After months without, you needed it more than you needed air.
“So now what?” you asked her.
“What do you mean?” she asked, lips brushing your hairline.
“We just had unauthorised sex,” you said, “am I going to be shot?”
“Of course not.” She stiffened and you could hear the horror in her voice, “I authorised it. I am the leader of Outpost Three, after all.”
“Yeah, that whole thing has definitely awoken something in me,” you said.
Her soft chuckle vibrated through her chest, passing into yours. You pressed closer, legs tangling together, uncaring of the arousal that still coated both of your skin. Her lips pressed to your forehead.
“I noticed, little one,” she said, “perhaps next time I’ll tie you up and tease you until you think you’re going mad.”
Your shaky exhalation earned you another kiss, soft and lingering, a promise for you to cash in.
“In public we shall remain as always. The leader and a Purple. Behind closed doors, we shall be us again,” she said, “if that’s agreeable to you?”
“I’ll take whatever I can get of you,” you replied, “you’re my world and I’ve missed you so much.”
Your name was sweet on her tongue, a soft sigh, a small smile. You lent up, kissing her until she was melting beneath your touch. You felt liquid, dreamlike, you hopes coming true right in front of you.
“I love you,” you muttered against her lips.
She rolled you, hovering above you, staring down with those dark eyes. Firelight danced across her skin and she’d never looked so beautiful to you.
“I love you too, little one,” she said, before kissing you once again.

— my only sunshine
summary: you’ve been struggling in silence but it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
pairing: cordelia goode x reader
warnings: depression, anxiety, self-harm (pretty detailed, be careful)
word count: 2700
venting again lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your leg shaking up and down was becoming excessive. You could see the girls next to you becoming annoyed, but you hardly realized that you were doing it. Tears pooled in your eyes and it burned so badly to hold them in. Why does Cordelia have to look at me so much? Why can't she just glance over me like everyone else and let me wallow away in the corner?
Everyone knew that you were Cordelia's special girl. You didn't think it had anything to do with your powers, she just liked you. And you liked her. But that was it; you were both too afraid to acknowledge it. What she wasn’t aware of was your history with mental health, which you tried so hard to conceal from her.
You don't think you were doing a very good job hiding it this time. How could you hide the fact that you don't want to live anymore?
Everyone knew you looked terrible lately. Madison had even pointed it out. Your eyes were dark, and hollow, and you just didn't look like yourself. Madison said you were just a freak that was too caught up in your studies to barely allow yourself some time to sleep, but Cordelia knew that wasn't true. Matter of fact, it was the complete opposite.
Cordelia dismissed yet another class that had completely gone through one ear and out the other. Spacing out is the one time that you actually feel safe and you so happen to be the best at it during class.
Everyone rushed out. You were a little slower because you were so exhausted and picking up your books felt like you were ripping open the cuts on your wrist. You thought you could feel like blood dripping down, but it might've just been your anxiety freaking you out.
"Oh, y/n, could you stay for a minute, love," Cordelia asked when you were by the doorway, ever so sweet but you still bit the inside of your mouth until you could taste blood.
You spun slowly on your heels. You loved Cordelia but you didn't want to stay. You were terrified of confrontation and you just wanted to throw yourself into your bed again.
You didn't respond and kept a great distance between you and Cordelia. She was so warm, she was your comfort, and you ached to have her hold you, but you just wanted the darkness right now.
She still walked closer towards you and you almost started to cry from the nerves. You started scratching at your band-aid covered wrists. You don't know why you do that when your nervous, it just feels good in the moment.
She looked down at your arms, then back up at you. Does she know? Did your sleeve rise when you went to reach for something? "Relax, honey. You're not in trouble. I just want to check on you."
"I'm fine," it came out weak.
She raised an eyebrow at you and gave you that look. Anyone could tell that you weren't okay, it was just a matter of who would be there for you when you fall apart.
Your bottom lip started to tremble. A clear indication that you were ready to break down. Cordelia just watched, letting you control yourself before she made you explode completely.
"How about we take a walk outside, around the house, and get some fresh air, yeah?" You nodded and you were suddenly following her out the door. Anything someone says to you hasn't really been processing in your head. You truly just feel like a leaf being blown in every direction.
It was nice out, slightly chilly with a breeze, but it did not seem to snap you from your state of mind. It was quiet for a minute before Cordelia began talking to you again. You knew she was trying to distract you from your thoughts, but it's not really want you want right now.
"So what have you been up to, missy? Are you still writing?" She looked over at you, gently smiling. She loved reading all of your work, but it had been a few weeks since she had. She's been a little bit busy and you've been locking yourself in your room.
"Yeah, a little bit, I guess." It was a complete lie, but your didn't feel like getting into the fact that you could hardly bring yourself to even get out of bed, let alone write.
She wanted to have a full conversation with you, but you weren't having it. She just became silent as you both finished the walk around the building. She always takes you to walk around the city with her, but she had an inkling that you weren't going to want to leave the property.
Cordelia didn't want to let you go yet. She had a bad feeling and she knew something just wasn't right with you. She felt uneasy. But she couldn't hold you back when you told her you had to go study. You would never pass up hanging out with Cordelia to study, and she knew that, but she just let you go.
When you got to your room, it was all messy. Had you had the energy to keep it as tidy as you always did then maybe your anger levels wouldn't have increased when you walked in. You decided to ignore it and step over the pile of clothes and make your way into the bathroom.
There, you dug through your drawer, looking for the blade that you kept hidden in the back. It was the one place that nobody could accidentally stumble upon it.
You sat down on the closed toilet lid and pulled up your left sleeve. Ripping off the bandaids had not even hurt as much as they should, you didn’t even flinch. You began cutting any free skin on your inner arms that you could. You hated that there wasn't that much room anymore due to all the other cuts, but you just couldn't seem to stop.
Sometimes it made you feel crazy but it mostly made you get some release. You knew you should at least try to stop with summer approaching but getting clean is never your top priority in the moment. Not when your arms start aching for more.
You just sit there with a blank face and watch as drops of blood start pooling at the thin lines and then you start dabbing it away with a tissue and apply some pressure.
Your heart absolutely drops when you hear a knock on your bathroom door. You weren’t expecting a visitor at your room, but living in this busy house, you never really get alone time.
"Y/n, it's me darling. Dinners ready." How could you have been so in your head that you lost track of time. You hardly even had an appetite but you knew that Cordelia was already having suspicions about you. You just had to act like everything was alright.
"Okay I'll be right down." Instead of wrapping your arm up, you simply just ran it under water for a moment and then pulled your sleeve down. It definitely stung, but you were starting to enjoy it.
When you walked out of the bathroom, Cordelia was waiting on your bed for you. You were expecting her to already be downstairs with the other girls, but she clearly had other plans.
"You're always neat, sweetie. What's going on with you?" You shrugged again, and soon, you thought, she's going to forget what your voice even sounds like. You began to walk out your room, and you can hear her shuffling behind you before she finally catches up. "Not in the mood to talk today?"
You'd rather Cordelia just hold you and whisper sweet nothings in your ear without expecting an answer. But at the moment, she's completely worried and just wants you to open up. "Not really, Cordelia."
She lets you slide again, but she can't take her eyes off of you all throughout dinner. She's sitting at the head of the table and you're at the first seat next to her. When you reach for your plate, she notices something that she wishes she didn't. She wishes it wasn't even there.
Your sleeve slides up, only slightly, and she can see smeared crimson on your wrist. Her heart sink and she has to swallow down the lump in her throat. After that, she cannot even look at you, or anyone for that matter, for the rest of dinner. She wasn't angry or embarrassed of you. Just so, so upset over the fact that her girl was hurting so badly.
Dinner finishes fairly fast. You notice there's not much chatter, and it must be from Cordelia's lack of interest in any of the conversation. You start worry that you hurt her feelings. She's always catching up with you and the girls - mostly you - during dinner, but today she hadn't even said a word.
"Y/n, meet me in my room please," Cordelia says, and it sounds almost cold compared to her typical soft voice. She walks away and heads towards her bedroom and your heart completely sinks. You fidget with the hem of your shirt and make way towards her room.
The door is ajar and by the time you're there, Cordelia is sitting on her bed in tears. This is it; she's going to kick you out.
"Cordelia?" You say and gather her attention back to you. She quickly wipes away her tears like you weren't supposed to see that, but there's no hiding her red, puffy eyes.
"Sit down please," she hardly looks you in the eyes. It's terrifying.
"I—" you attempt to argue. She has no part in that.
"Just sit down, y/n."
You sit beside her and it's so close that you bunch up your sleeve in your hand. You're consistently terrified of it rising. "Show me your arm."
"What—"
"Show me, y/n. I know what's going on. I know that you are hurting yourself."
You hug your arm closer to your body and can feel the sting like it's mocking you. Tears are instantly sprung to your eyes and it's clear that this situation isn't just a big misunderstanding.
"No! Leave me alone, Cordelia. What is wrong with you? Why would I ever do that." But you do do it and those words hurt so much. You wouldn't ever be so harsh to Cordelia, but you're not in the right mental state right now.
Cordelia's crying again and all you can think about is cutting up your arm for making her feel like that. You need to hurt yourself to pay for the faults you're causing and Cordelia can see right through that.
Her voice is very quiet and desperate as she speaks, "Baby, please. Please let me help you, I can't just pretend that it's not going on. I care about you too much."
This completely causes you to break down. You never had someone truly care about you. This is something that you've been yearning for forever.
You melt into Cordelia's body and she hugs you tightly, as if she let go, all of the pieces of you would just shatter everywhere. You can feel her tears start leaking through onto your shirt and you know she feels it too. "Please, y/n," she whispers, "I love you. Let me in, it's just me, it's only Cordelia."
You finally pull back and wipe away your tears. It doesn't stop another fresh batch of warm tears to roll down your face. You don't want to keep hiding this anymore. You need help. You need someone. You need her.
You take a deep breath and tug up your sleeve. You can't even bare to look at her face. Ashamed, and embarrassed, and scared. But you hear a sharp intake of breath from her. The bleeding from the cuts before dinner only made it look far worse on your fucked up skin.
"Oh, my baby," she sniffles and grabs your arm, gently. Your heart is too heavy. She's trying so hard to be strong for you. "Why," she looks up at you with watery eyes, waiting for an honest answer.
"Everything's just too much, Delia. I don't want to be me anymore. I hate being me, I hate living!" You started sobbing again and the crack in your voice doesn't go unnoticed. This is new and weird and you don't like it. You don't want to talk about yourself anymore. You can see her heart breaking in half from your words.
"My little sunshine...do you know I love you? I love the person that you say you hate so much." You don't have anything to say to that. Cordelia loves you. And you don't know how, but she does. You don't know how this whole could have any room for the broken half of you. “I couldn’t live without seeing your pretty smile and listening to you ramble to me about all the little things you love. So if you hate living so much, then let me love it for the both of us until you learn to.”
It’s silent for a couple moments that pass by until she looks back down at your arm again. It's a bloody mess and you don't want her to look anymore but she's still holding on. "Can I clean it? Can I do that for you?"
You nod and then you're being walked to her bathroom. It's bigger than yours and the entire room smells like her lavender shampoo that you always love taking in when she hugs you. She helps you to sit up on the counter. Your arm feels heavy from all the attention being on it but she so carefully cleans away the blood and it makes you feel a little bit better.
She covers it with bandaids. Not because she is disgusted by it. She's not at all. She just doesn't want anything infecting the fresh ones.
When she’s done, she lifts your arm up to her lips and, so delicately, kisses the covered cuts. A few tears start rolling down your face again. You’re too emotional for this. “Delia…”
“I love you,” she looks back up to you. Her words are so clear and genuine. “Come to me. I don’t care where we are or what time it is. Come to me whenever you feel like this.” You nod, your bottom lip trembling. She reaches her hand up and brushes her thumb over your lips. “It’s not going to be easy but i’m going to help you. We can make a plan and safe alternatives, anything that’ll help.”
She leans in and kisses your forehead, slow and light and your heart beats a little bit faster. “I love you too, Cordelia,” you croak out and she gives you that little smile.
“Come on, my little sunshine, let’s get some rest, hm?” She grabs your hand and brings you to her own bed. You’ve never slept with Cordelia before but it all feels natural. You lay your head on her chest and her arms wrap around your body. For once, you feel a sliver of happiness that you’ve been deprived of for so long.
The room is silent besides her soft breaths and the sound of cars rushing by. You finally break that silence after a few minutes.
“Delia?”
“Hm?” She peaks down a you and a small smile is present on her face again.
“Why do you always call me your little sunshine?” You say it with a slight giggle in your voice. You love all the nicknames she has for you, but this one stands out and makes your heart warm.
“Because, sweetie, I was in a very similar situation as you. But then you came into my life and suddenly there was light again.”
You looked up at her and bite your lip. You could’ve never imagined a woman like her feeling as terrible as you do. She’s too…perfect. But maybe, suddenly, you won’t feel so ashamed of your emotions anymore. You lean forward and place your sweet lips on hers. Just for a moment, for the first time in your life, you see a bit of sunlight shine through the cracks of your eyelids.

The Purple Dragon
Wilhelmina Venable is the most unapproachable, untouchable individual you had ever met, yet she has a soft spot for you. Why?
Pairing: Wilhelmina Venable x Reader
Word Count: 1600
Warnings: mention of struggling with mental health
Tumblr media
Wilhelmina Venable was a complex individual. Stand-offish, rude, stubborn. The negative descriptions could go on, yet some element of you felt drawn to her.
Throughout your lifetime you had always sought out hidden meanings - in books, signs, & eventually people. Being a firm believer in the fact that everything happens for a reason, meant that you always thought that people acted a certain way because of a certain thing.
There must be an explanation for everything - past or present. Whether this was a desire to control, or to balance the unknown in life, you didn’t know.
All that mattered was your inquisition. And consequently, this would lead you on the greatest adventure of your life.
You had known her for almost a year, the longest lasting assistant she had ever had. It could be due to your competence, your failure to give up, or possibly some element of Ms Venable.
However, this didn’t make working with the redhead any easier. She was called the ‘purple dragon’ for a reason; holding a fiery passion that most considered anger.
But not you.
Because of this, you had always treated Venable with the kindest of hearts. This was not unusual for you, but even the most saint-like person could crumble with one strike of the redhead’s stony glare. Luckily you had everlasting compassion when it came to even the most difficult of souls.
Well, not all the time.
It was a bad day. One of those days in which the bed is so comfy, so warm, so safe, that it seems impossible to leave. Your heart was heavy, & your mind even more so, dragging your body into the heavy depths; sinking & drowning as you were held down by the currents of numbness.
You should have called in sick, taken a day off for yourself, but you weren’t very good at doing this. Being a burden, a difficulty, seemed far worse than pulling yourself through the workday, so you chose to stumble into the office with the countenance of a particularly exhausted zombie.
Wilhelmina was also having a rough day, waking up with severe pain along her spine. This pain was not only physical, it also brought with it a fair share of mental anguish - mostly made up of resentment & irritation at her weakness.
What only made this worse was what the redhead discovered when she arrived at work. She had forgotten to bring her bag, & therefore, her medication.
Fuck, she cursed.
As the pain increased, she became even more aware of the fact that she couldn’t drive in this condition. She didn’t have a phone or any money either, so it’s not like she could call a taxi to pop home. Wilhelmina was just going to have to grit her teeth & bare it for the next few hours, hoping that the gods would spare her the agony just this once.
“Ms Venable? Are you alright?”
You had appeared in the doorway of Wilhelmina’s office, eyes worriedly scanning her hunched over figure.
The redhead snapped up into an unnoticeable posture, feigning normality despite the pained shudder that rippled through her body.
“I’m just fine Miss Y/L/N.”
It was her turn to do a double take, looking at you with narrowed eyes as she scrutinised your appearance.
“On the contrary, it seems that you are not.”
This was entirely in character for Ms Venable to make such a blunt observation, so you were used to it. However, for some reason, today it was the last straw.
You bursted into noisy tears & sank to the ground. Curled up into a ball, you sobbed uncontrollably, not even caring about who was watching. What you were crying about, you weren’t quite sure. All you knew was that you couldn’t take today, & your emotions had just spilled out in a violent flow.
All you wanted was to lay on this cold, uncomforting floor & fall asleep. Or disappear. Anything would be better than this.
"Hey, sh sh sh," a gentle voice shushed your sobs of despair.
The contrast in tone led you to believe that another of your colleagues had come to your rescue, yet you didn't recognize the voice. You looked up in confusion, only to be met with a blur of purple.
Ms Venable; formidable, heartless, cold Ms Venable was knelt next to you.
"Come on, little one. Let's get you up." She said in a whispered tone.
Half in shock, half still in despair, you allowed yourself to be led to the purple sofa by the window. Your body felt so numb, not feeling Ms Venable's tight grip, or the sofa material as you sank into it. All you could do was sit & stare blankly, too overwhelmed internally to make a sound.
A familiar hand just stroked through your messy hair, silently understanding that words were too much. Lulling you into a calm, dreamlike state, this repetitive motion was just what you needed.
As you caught your heavy breaths & your parasympathetic system took hold, Wilhelmina was facing her own battle.
Her back was still in agony, even more so after kneeling & supporting your weight. Yet, somehow, her heart hurt thrice as much.
She never wanted it to be this way. You were the kindest, sweetest, most gentle person she had ever met. There was an essence about you that was addictive to Wilhelmina, a perfume of lightness that she couldn't help but smell until she was perfectly dizzy with love.
That was the issue. Love.
"Ms Venable," you mumbled. "Your back, you can't be sitting like this it-"
"It's okay little one, I'm alright." She spoke gently. "And call me Wilhelmina."
You noticed. You saw her. If possible, the butterflies in Mina's stomach flew more frantically as she tried to control the deep blush that settled on her cheeks.
God, she felt like a lovesick teenager all of a sudden.
"Okay, Mina." You said cheekily, gaining some colour back to your previously pale disposition.
Wilhelmina gave you a stern look, but it was more a caricature of her usual demeanor, turned soft by you.
You both wanted to say something, but were simply lost in each other's eyes. Her pupils were a rich brown, so deep that you could wander in them for hours and never get bored.
Without warning, she moved closer to you, resting her hand onto your knee. You closed the gap, pulling her into a kiss of fiery passion.
Perhaps she did like being a dragon after all, just not in the way she had expected.
Wilhelmina was hypnotic; a drug, and now you had a taste you just couldn't get enough. And from the way she was kissing you, it seemed as if she was just as addicted.
She was the first to pull away, which made your breath shudder with anxiety. What if she regretted this?
But her comforting hand resting on your cheek, and the look of adoration in her eyes told you otherwise.
"What's going on sweet one, hm?"
You broke her gaze, feeling entirely too vulnerable. There was nothing you hated more than explaining your mental state; it didn't even make sense to you so how were you to express it.
"It's just one of those days Mina, where everything feels...wrong." You sighed. "I don't really know how to say it in a way that makes sense."
"It's okay." Wilhelmina nodded. "I think I get where you're coming from. Sometimes when I'm having a bad day with my back, I can struggle with that too."
"You do?" You said in surprise.
"Yes, darling. I do."
"But you're always so strong. I never would have thought."
"People have different ways of showing it, little one." Mina spoke gently. "I snap at people, I get angry, I scream; all because I feel so out of control."
"Oh." You said. It all made sense now.
This time, she captured your lips in a kiss. It was more slow and steady than the former; a way of saying 'we have time'.
So, you sat there for a while, quietly soaking in each other's presence and stealing a kiss every few moments.
If someone had told you an hour ago that Wilhelmina Venable would be looking at you like this, being gentle with you like this, you would have laughed in their face.
Never did you think that your feelings would be returned, and neither did she.
Suddenly the door creaked open, and one of your colleagues stepped in. Instantly you tensed, waiting for Wilhelmina to turn away from you, to be embarrassed by you.
But she sat, unmoving, as her steely gaze fixed on her new target.
"Susan." She said bluntly. "What have I told you about knocking before disturbing me?"
Now Susan was a fairly confident woman, chatty most times. But in the presence of the purple dragon, she crumbled and stuttered.
"I j-just needed-"
"Needed what? Something so important that you decided to barge straight into my office unannounced? An emergency, perhaps?"
"Well, no but-"
"Well then I'd prefer if you let us be, thank you."
And that was that. Susan scuttled out of the room like a scolded child. To your utmost surprise, Wilhelmina pulled you into her side and kissed your hairline.
"No harm will come to you now I'm around, little one."
"I love you Mina."
"I love you most, my sweet."

Y/n: *knocks at the fridge’s door and waits*
Cordelia and Mina share a quizzical look
Y/n: *grins and knocks again*
Cordelia: *already struggles to keep a serious expression and turns to Mina* ask her, love
Mina: ask her what? *frowns*
Cordelia: just ask her why she is knocking at the fridge’s door or we won’t have any dinner tonight…
Y/n: *grins evilly in anticipation*
Mina: *sighs and tiredly rubs the root of her nose* sweetheart, why are you knocking at the fridge’s door?
Y/n: because … *stops dramatically to add suspense while Cordelia is already crying in laughter* there could be a salad dressing
Mina: *struggles to keep a serious expression*
Cordelia: *lying on the floor* HELP.

If you had to describe the atmosphere within the academy and living in it's secure walls, you would opt for peaceful, a blend of calm and bustling energy. With witches coming and going it often varies, periods of utter quiet at the coven with older witches just passing through and younger witches bringing life back to the white walls. The air was always filled with the hum of spells being cast and the aroma of various potions brewing. The environment was comfortable, cozy even as Cordelia always made sure to take the girls personalities and interests in consideration when redecorating or purchasing some new things for the academy.
And since living at the academy, it had always been your safe space, finding your family there, the girls who you belonged with, who understood you and of course there are your girls. You had been by their side for a very long time now, the four of you completing each other, knowing each others needs and thoughts without any magic or words involved. Each of you had a quiet love and understanding and so your life together was simple and peaceful. And despite the same routines by now, the four of you always did something different in your free time with each other, date nights and your shared weekends always a priority.
Living at the academy, including teaching there alongside Cordelia and some of the witches part of the council, you sometimes lost your connection to the outside world, as it carried on with it's usual rhythm. And sometimes you had to make sure you take some time for yourself, going for a walk, hearing the birds chirp in the trees, or walking to the markets as a gentle breeze rustles through the air. The sound of traffic, usually distant, and people going about their daily lives. Wilhemina and Billie didn't know the feeling, of course living at the academy but working outside of it and regularly leaving the house daily to get on about their tasks.
And maybe that's the reason why things had escalated and turned the way they did lately, maybe you hadn't left the academy in too long, maybe you needed that walk and distance from your home, as everything in the academy felt too familiar, too crowded. The past weeks had been incredibly busy as a wave of students joined, unfortunately some in the middle of puberty, causing for the supreme and you to have many sleepless nights, trying to figure out how to provide a home for them and how to make them reach their full potential. And despite two very uncooperative witches having to leave and go to a different academy not that long ago, the academy finally returning to a sense of normality and calm, it felt the same. The air definitely lingered with the opposite of calm, even Billie and Wilhemina being able to feel the tension between their girlfriends.
Billie was often in her own little word, worrying and thinking about things that Wilhemina would certainly make fun of and entertain herself with. The medium often worried about whether the viewers of her show are satisfied with the latest season, how to get access to a drop of her favourite designer, how to fit in a manicure appointment this week. But beneath all of that, her work often lingered on her mind, the ghosts and hauntings certainly never fully gone as they often kept her awake at night or awoke her after a terrible nightmare. And of course through it all, the three of you would always be by Billie's side, taking turns of shushing her back to sleep when working on an especially tough case. And in return, Billie showered you three in her love and adoration, her love language definitely showering you in gifts. And it really was something for the medium to notice this tension and to actually worry about it, usually brushing it off with her ,,everything will be okay and sort itself out'' attitude.
However it had worried her so much that she even consulted in her other girlfriend, Wilhemina as she had called her in her lunch break today as the weekend finally approached. And despite the redhead trying to brush off the whole thing and calming Billie down, Mina had also noticed it. Now, Wilhemina Venable was many things but definitely perceptive. She noticed everything, any shift, whether that being in someone's behaviour, or the atmosphere when stepping into a room. She had noticed how your smile had faded lately, how you seemed nervous and anxious around Cordelia, despite usually feeling safe with her, often finding you sitting on the blondes lap or playing with her hair while you look up at her with so much love. And Wilhemina wasn't sure what had happened, assuming it was the stress of it all, noticing how you had done so much for the supreme in the past, teaching mainly all of her classes at this point, still spending hours in her office and helping around daily, sometimes tidying after the witches for hours.
And she had also noticed how you did all of this on top of everything else you continued to do. Whether that being cooking, taking care of the household, washing, helping Billie with social media for her show, often offering to accompany Wilhemina to appointments or pick up her medication. And she had also noticed how Cordelia wasn't repaying you for any of it, no words of appreciation exchanged, no relief for you taking so much off her plate, how she often hid away in her office until the late hours of the night. How you and her both had tried to coax her out of it so many times without success. Often finding you asleep on the sofa in Cordelia's office in the early morning hours, Cordelia still working away and barely acknowledging anyones existence, as you eventually passed out, sleep washing over you. But remaining in a curled up position on the uncomfortable sofa, simply to stay and be close to her. And the whole thing had been worrying, Wilhemina wondering how she could possibly fix this, opting to talk to the supreme but not getting the slightest chance lately as she was always running around, taking care of something.
Just yesterday she opted for speaking to you again, as you always made time for them, certainly your Mina. She had asked you what was going on, why you seemed so sad, if all of this pressure was stressing you out but Wilhemina knew that you were quite like her, often hiding behind those walls that you had built up in order to protect yourself and so she really couldn't coax out anything.
And as the day progresses, the air growing heavy with anticipation and unspoken words, a silent tension hangs over the coven, its surroundings and certainly the supreme and you. It feels as if the very atmosphere is holding it's breath, despite all of the witches being finally home for the weekend which usually meant the four of you could relax. However as you finally wrap up for the day, having cleaned the greenhouse, checked the girls rooms and making sure everything was in order, making all the necessary dinner preparations and at last bringing the supreme some tea as she carries on working on her laptop, barely acknowledging your existence and muttering a quick ,,Thank you sweetheart'', you couldn't take it anymore. And so you hastily reached for your keys, throwing on a jacket and leaving through the front door, the cold air feeling like freedom as you exit the academy, ready for your ,,away from the academy'' walk.
However, fate was of course always a factor, as Billie and Wilhemina return home at the same time, Billie waving almost ridiculously after parking her car next to the redhead, Wilhemina chuckling lowly at her antics. And as they exit their cars, greeting each other after a long day of working, they are startled when the front door bangs shut, you having no intention of doing so but the headphones you are wearing cancelling out all outside noises, as music fills your ears, closing your eyes to really breathe and let your frustration go. They watch in confusion as you almost brush past them, too frustrated to even notice them at first. ,,Little one?'' Wilhemina tries but you couldn't hear them, however your magic quickly alerted you, trying hard to force a smile as you take in their features. Wilhemina plastered in purple as usual and looking ethereal, Billie in business casual and looking attractive as ever.
,,Hey babydoll'' Billie greets you, kissing your cheek as you stand there a little awkwardly. ,,Where are you going?'' Wilhemina asks, almost curiously as you bite your lip a little anxiously, not wanting them to really know about this, not wanting to ruin their day as well. ,,Just on a walk'' you exclaim with your best smile, hoping they couldn't see through this. But they did and when Billie glances at Wilhemina, their concerned eyes locking, you almost sigh in frustration. ,,Would you like us or either of us to keep you company?'' Billie asks, using her best puppy eyes but you politely decline by shaking your head, remaining your friendly self. ,,No thank you, you two relax, I'll be back in just a little while'' you reassure as they again exchange glances but eventually accept your statement. ,,Dinner is pretty much all done, I'll just heat it up when I'm back'' you mutter before leaving and as they stand there, almost frozen in their spot, Billie glances at Wilhemina almost with a ,,I told you something was up'' look, this also being all the confirmation the redhead needed.
And as you finally find yourself out of reach from the academy, you almost feel like screaming or running, anything to let out your anger and emotions but you simply walk your usual round as you blast the music a little louder, drawing out the thoughts and giving you an odd sense of calm. Meanwhile, your girlfriends had entered the academy, noticing how unusually quiet it was, how everything was of course spotless for them again and then something snaps within Wilhemina as she without warning ascends the stairs, leaving behind a confused Billie, who quickly follows, the tapping of her heels matching the urgency of her girlfriends cane taps echoing through the academy. She had thought about confronting Cordelia for some time now and she struggled with a war of protectiveness over you all, having an odd amount of it with you, wanting to keep you away from harm but also not wanting any harm towards Cordelia. But she couldn't shake the nagging feeling that the supreme was the cause for all of this, blinded by her work, tasks and responsibilities.
,,Darling, what's wrong?'' Billie pathetically tries as she fails at keeping up with the redhead who simply bursts through the supremes office, not caring about knocking. And Cordelia simply types away, not needing to glance up to know who was standing in front of her. ,,Hey you two, how was your day?'' she asks, almost absentmindedly, her voice remaining the usual gentleness but the kindness nowhere to be found in her eyes that usually sparkle with it. ,,Not great'' Wilhemina exclaims almost too calmly, not remotely matching her inner turmoil, wanting to test how focused the supreme really was in their conversation. ,,Why is that darling?'' she questions, still not glancing up at either of them as Billie almost hides behind the redhead, not liking the obviously growing tension.
,,Well let's see Cordelia, Billie here for one has been anxiously calling and messaging me all day because something doesn't seem quite right'' she begins, her voice filled with venom ,,Then there is the fact that we just saw Y/N leave to go on a walk and the sadness and disappointment in her eyes almost made me want to slap the person who caused for that in our little ones features'' she carries on, Billie a shivering mess behind her as the supreme finally looks up, watching the scene unfold before her. ,,Now, I can't do that though because I have a feeling that, that person is you'' Wilhemina begins throwing punches with her words at this point, worked up and the last weeks of pain and worry finally catching up with her, leaving the blonde at a loss of words.
,,Do you not see what she does? how she has taken over all of your classes, how she does everything around here? how she is so exhausted that she falls asleep on that sofa over there, hoping you would give her some attention?'' and with those words the redhead finishes, not an ounce of regret in her features, despite her eyes pleading with Cordelia to finally wake up. Billie remains silent, not remotely having noticed half of the things that Wilhemina had said but slowly understanding and getting the full picture. And Cordelia simply stares at her, a lump forming in her throat causing for the words to get caught there, fighting back the tears that are about to spill but she knows how to compose herself.
The room fills with silence and Wilhemina is quick to turn on her heels, her cane angrily tapping against the wooden floor before making her way back downstairs, breathing heavily as she tries to calm her inner storm, having lost her inner battle of protectiveness around you and letting it all out on the supreme as a result. Billie remains frozen, her jaw dropped, in disbelief of the words that were just exchanged. ,,Delia?'' she tries as the supreme had averted her gaze a while ago and slowly the blonde draws her eyes back to her. ,,Do you want to talk about it?'' Billie tries, a little unsure what to actually say and who's side to pick here. And as Cordelia forces a smile and shakes her head, she takes it as a signal to let them cool off, quickly walking back to the kitchen to finish dinner, wanting to take something off your plate and hoping it could somehow fix the tension that lingered so heavily in the air.
To her surprise however, Wilhemina had already begun, assuming she would retreat to her office, but the redhead seems composed, despite her hands shaking and Billie could tell this weighed on her. ,,Let me'' she tries, reaching for some plates on one of the higher shelves and helping the redhead set the table, quickly heating up the food that you had prepared. Several minutes pass, the two of them sitting by the table at first, waiting for the food to heat up, hoping you would return soon before Billie sneaks away for a cigarette. And as she returns, she finds you entering the academy, as you abandon the jacket and headphones, your features seeming a lot less tense as you had no idea of the confrontation that unfolded in your absence. ,,Hi babydoll, you okay?'' Billie questions as she presses a kiss to your forehead, Wilhemina startled by your sudden appearance.
And then as the three of you take a seat, Billie trying to cheer the mood a little by talking about her day and asking about both of yours, Cordelia suddenly appears, her features neutral, looking as beautiful as ever, despite her eyes portraying a hint of exhaustion. Billie breathes out in relief, thinking and hoping that all was well now, that maybe Wilheminas outburst made the supreme realise and your walk calming you down enough so you could enjoy the evening and each others company. As you glance at Cordelia, you try and figure out what made her come downstairs, after earlier assuming she would stay in her office. However as you notice the odd tension, Wilhemina's silence and avoidance towards the supreme, Billie being unusual nice and chatty, almost as if trying to cover up something and Cordelia seeming oddly calm, you know you must have missed something and after taking some bites of the food, you clear your throat.
,,Is everything alright?'' you ask, almost a little anxiously as you glance between your girlfriends, Billie beaming at you but you could tell it's fake, Wilhemina simply staring at her food and not touching it before Cordelia's eyes find yours, before speaking. ,,I don't know Y/N, is everything alright?'' she speaks, so utterly calm but you could feel the rage given that she used your name and not one of the usual pet names plus the obvious irony. And as you hesitate, she speaks again, Wilheminas eyes snapping towards the blonde, ready to jump at her and protect you if necessary. ,,Because I have heard that things aren't quite alright'' she adds, the room filling with silence as she waits for you to speak. But given you have no clue what's going on, you simply take a deep breath, trying to collect your thoughts and calm down, trying to keep your frustration at bay.
,,So tell me, is everything alright, hm?'' she again almost mockingly questions, Billie dropping her fork in frustration as Wilhemina bangs her cane on the floor, startling both you and the medium. ,,Or could you explain me why you go running to them about how I don't pay you enough attention, how you are so exhausted from doing everything around here'' Cordelia carries on and your eyebrows furrow then as you meet Billie and Wilhemina's gazes, not remotely understanding what was happening as you didn't talk to either of them. ,,Enough Cordelia'' Wilhemina warns, her hand gripped so tightly around her cane that Billie worries it may just snap.
,,But tell me who does everything around here? who is the fucking supreme?'' she snaps, Billie shaking and shivering in her spot at the sudden raising of her voice, never usually expecting Cordelia to lose her temper, especially not with either of you but again specifically you. And then something within you snaps, the last straw of patience that you had held on for so long, your love for the blonde and patience and understanding and compassion finally leaving you as a wave of anger washes over you, almost drowning you in it's intensity. Your chair scrapes against the wooden floor, making a horrendous noise, as your fists slam against the table, causing for all three of them to jolt.
And then as the words spill out of you, you lose control over your magic as the room is spinning, legs shaking, the lights suddenly flickering which never happened with you before. ,,You are the fucking supreme Cordelia but you are also supposed to be my- our fucking girlfriend'' you try hard to at least keep your voice at bay. ,,I have given you my everything for years now, spending every single second working for you and this academy'' you admit, Wilhemina almost a little turned on by the sudden outburst if it wasn't for the seriousness of the situation, never seeing you like this before. ,,I have given my entire life to you, all the minutes and hours of every single day to make sure you succeed and your academy thrives'' you cry now, tears flowing freely from your eyes. ,,And I get it, it's stressful being the supreme, it's a horrible burden and weight but I and we have tried to be there for you for the longest time now but you have changed Delia'' you try pleading then, hoping she would maybe snap out of it. And the other two check the supremes features then but there isn't an ounce of what you are hoping for and so you take a deep breath, regaining control of your emotions and magic again. ,,And to be honest I can't do it anymore, I'm sorry'' and with those words you leave.
And as you leave, banging the small door leading from the kitchen to the garden shut, three set of brown eyes follow you. Wilhemina's eyes filled with pain but at the same time a hint of pride as she never took you for one to speak up, especially not towards them or Cordelia of all people, considering she was after all your supreme. Billie's worried eyes follow you, unsure what your last statement meant and what this would mean for your relationship, regretting the poly aspect of it a little as she felt utterly torn as of right now. And at last there is Cordelia, lost in her own world as your words keep repeating in her mind, unable to even look at you walking away, as the waves of the past few weeks finally crash down on her, causing her to sit frozen. It doesn't take long before she leaves, without a single word, without a single glance leaving another blonde and a redhead behind, confused and concerned as ever.
Ascending the stairs, Cordelia is quick to reach her office, banging the door shut as she rubs her temples in frustration. What neither of you had known was that the supreme had been fighting a silent battle for a while, for some reason not finding it within her to confide in either of you, despite trusting you with her whole life. Of course she had noticed every single thing you had been doing for her, basically you the supreme at this point when it comes to the workload. In reality, you had done so much work daily that the only thing left for her to do was go through the occasional applications, typing away whenever any of you were near her but as soon as either of you left, she rubbed her temples in the exact same way, the typing stopping as she couldn't focus on anything, as the only thing on her mind was the worries. Worries about whether she was doing this any justice, whether she might slowly be turning into her mother, what it would be like fading, wondering if you were going to be the next supreme, given your magic and abilities. And it all weighed so heavily on her that she couldn't join you three in bed as the thoughts kept her up at night, that she couldn't look at either of you but especially you. And as she settles onto her chair, she knows that Wilhemina was right with every word, not even cross for her choice of words as it was so so justified and your every word had been so valid too that she worries whether she had driven you away, whether she had ruined everything but she remains frozen, her inner battle having the upper hand for now.
,,Well..'' Billie Dean exclaims, nervously looking up at her girlfriend who's features are so oddly neutral that the medium isn't sure whether she was going to walk away next. But to her surprise, Wilhemina places her free hand on top of the mediums, her eyes enough of a reassurance that this was going to be okay as they lock with her brown ones. ,,We should go after them'' Billie Dean urges, knowing you both needed to cool down but wanting to be of support and Wilhemina nods in agreement, not liking the idea of either of you two doing this on your own, considering the magic aspect and all. ,,Do you have a preference darling?'' Billie asks, questioning who would go after whom. And Wilhemina's preference is certainly you, as she feels both conflicted with surprise, pride but also worry at your outburst but she knew if anyone could finally calm and get the supreme to open up it was her, their chemistry allowing just that. ,,I'll talk to Cordelia, you make sure to calm our little one a little, hm?'' Wilhemina tries softly, being able to tell that the mediums nerves wouldn't cope with the supreme right now.
Billie exhales almost in relief a little before she nods, the two of them abandoning the thought of dinner as Wilhemina makes her way upstairs, Billie making her way outside, following you to the greenhouse, while quickly lighting a cigarette in desperate need for some nicotine. And as Wilhemina knocks gently this time, feeling much calmer than before and knowing the blonde needed gentleness as of right now, she is met with Cordelia's frustration. ,,Busy'' she spits considering locking the door with a flick of her wrist. ,,Darling'' Wilhemina tries as she opens the door gently and taking a look at the supreme who sits in her chair, still rubbing her temples in frustration. ,,Are you going to shout at me again?'' Cordelia questions annoyed as Wilhemina closes the door gently. ,,No darling'' she reassures, a silent promise that she came in peace and wanted nothing more than to fix this. And as Wilhemina calmly takes a seat in front of her, her features much softer now, the anger replaced by concern, giving her girlfriend that one look. That one look that spoke thousands of words, that look that Cordelia would give the redhead whenever she was in bad pain but wouldn't talk about it. And then she finally falters, her chin wobbling as the tears flow freely down her beautiful features as she falls apart in front of her girlfriend, Wilhemina simply remaining silent but her presence giving Cordelia comfort and reassurance.
Meanwhile, Billie had finally made her way to the greenhouse, needing a good minute to finish her cigarette and calm down. ,,Babydoll?'' she tries as she enters, taking in the surroundings and how the usually calm safe space was replaced by almost a dark aura now, assuming that was due to your magic. She watches as you lean against one of the wooden countertops, your fists slammed on it and remaining in that same spot, your eyes closed. Billie simply takes gentle steps towards you, her heels announcing her presence with each step before she wraps her arms around you, leaning her chin on your shoulder. And despite wanting to give you comfort, you shiver into her touch, really not feeling like it, as all you could feel was frustration and anger. Billie being Billie she can tell, so she takes a careful step away, looking at you before speaking softly ,,What can I do baby?'' she whispers but you don't answer, not knowing what to do or say. ,,You didn't mean it did you?'' she asks nervously as she fiddles with her acrylic nails, your statement about not being able to do this still on her mind and what it meant. And despite her not deserving it, you can't help but sigh ,,What do you expect me to do Billie?'' you question, mostly asking this yourself rather than her.
,,What do you mean baby?'' she tries, her eyes now meeting yours as you face her. ,,Don't tell me you hadn't noticed until tonight'' you sigh, pacing a little as you really didn't mean to let it out on here. And the guilt almost drowns Billie then, making her slightly dizzy as it dawns on her that she had noticed, of course she had but she didn't realise the full extend of the situation. And she certainly couldn't deny how much she enjoyed whenever you helped her out with things or simply kept her company, knowing how everything lately had been so demanding. Her eyes close in frustration and sadness at herself as she notices a shift in the room, her eyes opening again. ,,What are you doing?'' she asks as she notices you contemplating something, fighting an inner battle whether to leave or stay. ,,I can't do this Billie'' you admit, rather leaving than causing her any more pain in this moment. ,,No No babydoll please'' she begs, stepping forward to physically stop you from leaving. ,,Billie don't'' you warn, your eyes pleading with her. ,,I'm not letting you walk away'' she announces, crossing her arms in front of her chest. ,,I'm happy to give you some space but please stay'' she begs and maybe it was due to how adorable she looked then or how bad you felt but you agree.
After Billie leaves, opting to make herself useful and clean some dishes and sort the kitchen, you decide to do some more pacing, trying to compose yourself. And in the meantime Cordelia had completely fallen apart, sharing every worry, every fear and every thought with her girlfriend. And Wilhemina listened intently, finally being the shoulder to cry on that she had always been for the blonde and said blonde finally allowing just that. And then as she finished, Wilhemina didn't really say all that much, as they share a silent understanding, Cordelia confessing how badly she had treated you, Wilhemina noticing herself how even she had a small play in it, not stopping this sooner and simply letting you carry this burden all alone despite noticing it a while ago. And composed and gentle as ever, she simply ask whether the blonde felt ready to talk to you, but Cordelia now in a clear state of mind again, asked for a little more time, which Wilhemina was more than happy to give.
Despite the echoing of a cane announcing the redheads presence in the kitchen moments later, Billie is so lost in her thoughts that she doesn't notice Wilhemina hovering nearby, chuckling lowly at the scene in front of her, Billie absentmindedly washing dishes, wearing some pink rubber gloves. ,,Let me guess, nails?'' Wilhemina questions, startling the medium as she simply nods, her cheeks glowing red even in the slightest bit. ,,How did it go?'' Billie asks nervously, before Wilhemina simply smiles ,,All fine darling, how did it go with our little one?'' and then the blonde averts her gaze, remembering your words. ,,Not so well'' she admits, sighing in frustration before filling the redhead in.
And so moments later, your peace is again interrupted when Wilhemina makes an appearance, simply scanning your features before exclaiming ,,Well that was quite the performance wasn't it?'' hoping this could coax you out of it. And as you turn around, thinking hard about what to reply, you see the concern and worry in her eyes, despite the slightest smirk playing on her lip, making you feel guilty how this had burdened both of them, despite it not being their fight to fight or their argument to solve. ,,Little one listen'' she begins, speaking so softly that you obey immediately. ,,I know you are angry and you have every reason to be'' her eyes meeting yours as she speaks ,,I agree Billie and I have played a part in this and we are sorry and so is Cordelia but you can't let this break you like this''. And there is something so painful about her words, the fact how really this evening you had been so alike Wilhemina and how she didn't judge you for it, how she was giving you advice. And to some it may seem hypocritical given the circumstances but you appreciated it so much and it touched you so deeply that it causes you to finally falter, similar to Cordelia moments before.
And despite wanting to stay strong and composed, like your Mina would mostly do, your face crumbles as tears forms in your eyes and in response you turn around, not wanting to be this pathetic and weak but your Mina is having none of that, quick to walk over to you and position herself right in front of you, so she can get a good look at you ,,Come here'' she ushers, pulling you closer and you fall apart then in her arms, similar to the way Cordelia had fallen apart moments before. And it really doesn't take long until your Mina has you smiling and chuckling again, as she whispers just how attractive your outburst really was and how she needed you to see Billie cleaning dishes with some rubber gloves. And so forgetting about it all for now, you follow your girlfriend, as she leads you to the kitchen where indeed the medium stands, still attempting to clean the dishes and not break her nails. And as you glance at Wilhemina, who simply stands composed and graceful as ever but giving you that one look, you can't help bursting out in laughter, Billie startled by your sudden appearance.
,,What's so funny?'' she asks, flipping her hair in a total unnecessary but adorable way. ,,You, silly Billie'' you chuckle before walking over to her and pressing a kiss to her cheeks, having to balance on your tip toes to do just that. And with a quick motion, you rid her of the rubber gloves, quickly finishing the last few dishes for her. Billie leans against the counter next to you, scanning your features and how you seem a lot calmer. And as your eyes meet hers, they plead for forgiveness and that she got caught in this and with a warm smile, the medium accepts your apology. The three of you feel a sense of calm settle over the quiet kitchen, however when Cordelia joins you three, the anxiety returns, unsure what was going to happen. As you meet Cordelia's gaze, you can tell Wilhemina had managed to calm her down enough to have a conversation about this, however you can sense that she was still agitated a little bit.
,,Are you here to shout at me again?'' the words practically blurt out of you as you finish cleaning the last few dishes, scolding yourself internally but still hurt at Cordelia's choice of words and actions lately. And Wilhemina's eyebrows raise then, giving you a disapproving glance as she internally thinks how alike you and the supreme truly were deep down. Billie's eyes travel between you and Cordelia, occasionally meeting Wilhemina's and pleading with her. ,,No god dammit'' the blonde suddenly begins, stomping her foot on the floor as a result of her frustration. ,,I came here to apologise'' she quickly adds, not being able to see you be upset with her, despite it being for all the right reasons. Before you can reply, Billie surprisingly steps forward, fighting back her own anxiety before speaking ,,Then stop acting like children, sit down and let's talk about it''. Her statement takes you three, especially Wilhemina by surprise who was about to say the same thing.
And so the next hour is spent in the dimly lit kitchen as the sun had set long ago, Cordelia apologising to you three, opening up about some of the things she had struggled with, apologising for taking you for granted and not seeing all of what you had been doing. You all listened intently, acknowledging that you also had a play in this, considering you could have stopped doing all those things, talk to your girlfriend more. And as the night slowly comes towards it's end, Billie leaning into her redhead girlfriend, snuggled up together on the sofa, leaning her head against Wilhemina's safe shoulders, she watches as you are back where you belong, in Cordelia's lap, listening intently to what had been bothering her, how she keeps apologising over and over again and that she never wants you to slip away from them and she watches as you look up at the blonde in that same adoring and loving way and so she knows that things were starting to look okay again.
,,Sweetheart, I promise I will fix this'' Cordelia promises as you meet her eyes, almost in a daze as you had missed being so close to your Delia. ,,You mean the world to me and us'' she promises as she presses a gentle kiss to your nose, causing you to giggle before further melting into her touch.
And for the weeks to follow, Cordelia made sure to balance out the workload, still accepting and grateful for your help but doing her fair share of it again, making sure to take things off your plate and there wasn't a night where she would spent it in her office again, the argument making her realise that her priority had always been you three and she for sure wasn't going to ever risk losing either of you again.

ALICE POV
Oh how I missed my sweet baby. After a terrible day with Phyllis, having to pretend to be against who I really am, who I love, I'm exhausted and ready to be with y/n. Thankfully she allowed us all to go home early, and I almost sped to get to my kitten.
Running through the rain after getting out of the car, I run to our front door, giggling slightly as I get drenched. I burst through the door and see her head pop up from the couch in the living room.
Y/n beams and giggles at how soaked I am. “Alice! You’re home early, is something wrong?”
Oh, my sweet girl... she's always so caring and concerned about me. I smile wide and shake my head, chuckling as I start to strip in our mudroom.
“No sweetness, Phyllis let us leave early, thank goodness. It was getting suffocating.” I pout slightly and slide my unbuttoned blouse off, only in my bra and skirt now.
With a huff I make my way to the laundry room, hearing my baby following close behind like the cute little puppy she is. “I'm so sorry, mommy.. I’m so glad you’re home, I.. I missed you very much.”
Now, I heard what she said, but I couldn’t catch on to the shyness at the end of her sentence, I would’ve realized she meant more than just, missing me..
But unfortunately, I was so focused on getting my clothes in the wash that I didn’t notice. I just nod and grin, closing the lid on the wash before glancing at her. “Aw, mommy missed you too, sweetheart!” I say as I kiss her head, rushing to the bathroom to wash myself off.
Y/N POV
She wasn’t getting it! All day, I’ve been waiting as patiently as I possibly could for her to get home. Last night we were so close to having play time, but mommy was just exhausted, so we stopped to just cuddle and sleep. I didn’t wanna push it, but now I can’t take it. It's been a week since I've been ruined like I need.
Following her closely, my cheeks flush from witnessing her strip from her clingy clothes, and now she’s NAKED. I don’t understand how she’s just so casual.
She’s talking about something, I hadn’t realized until I felt a hand cup my cheek. I snap out of my trance and look up to see Alice’s brows knitted in concern.
“Sweet girl, are you alright?” The pet name and her soft voice is certainly not helping the pool forming in my underwear.
I go to speak and feel how watery my mouth is, immediately making me blush. I open my mouth and then shut it, nodding as I look up at her shyly. Her eyes slightly squint and she looks down at my lips, a light smirk forming on hers.
“Oh baby, you’re drooling.” she mutters, moving her thumb to swipe over my bottom lip. I can’t stop the slight whimper that erupts in my throat, and I watch, my eyes widening as she brings her thumb to her own lips and sucks my drool off.
“Hm, nummy.”
Fuck. I feel my brows knit as I feel the urge to plead. She winks at me and then hums, softly chuckling at my demeanor. She pulls out a washcloth out of one of the cabinets and turns on the shower, stepping in but keeping the curtain open wide. I just stand there in awe as she lathers the washcloth with soap, and then uses it to wash herself.
She looks into my eyes as she washes her breast, her bottom lip hooked in between her teeth, but I don’t pay attention to that, my eyes wander down to her soapy tits.
I blush in shame when a whine slips out of me at the sight of her, the way she tilts her head up slowly, humming out a groan at the feeling of the warm water hitting her smooth skin.
After a moment she looks back at me, chuckling. “Baby, go strip and lay down in bed, I wanna have cuddles when I’m done.” She speaks so innocently, as if she hasn’t been kneading her tits right in front of me.
“But I-” I go to protest, but her eyes narrow and I feel my words get caught in my throat. “Listen to mommy, kitten. Do as I say.” she says in a soft but impossibly intimidating tone.
I immediately nod, glancing at her body one more time before backing out of the bathroom and to the bedroom. I take a deep breath, slightly shaking from what just happened.
I quickly undress, peeling my underwear off and clearly seeing the soaked patch, making me go red. I put my clothes in the laundry basket and crawl onto the bed, huffing softly as I slide under the covers to try and soften the goosebumps forming on my bare body.
I wrap my arms around my pillow and pout to myself, facing away from the bathroom door so I don’t have the urge to run back in and plead for Alice to fuck me.
I eventually zone out, listening to the shower running and Alice’s soft hums as she finishes up. I don’t even realize that it’s stopped, so as soon as I feel a hand on my shoulder I jolt and whip my head around to see Alice giggling.
“Jumpy little thing, aren’t you? You silly girl.” Her tone makes my face flush and I scrunch my nose, turning to put my face in my pillow as I let out a few shy giggles, feeling butterflies in my tummy.
I feel a shift in the bed and then suddenly her warm soft body is pressed into mine. Her arms wrap around my middle as she pulls me against her further, my breathing getting heavy at the feeling of her fingers stroking my lower stomach.
At the feeling of her breath hitting the back of my neck my hips wiggle slightly while squeaking out a little whine. At that she lets out a breathy chuckle as she presses her palm flat against my abdomen.
“Stay still, my desperate little baby.” she whispers in a silky voice, immediately causing a shiver to run through me. I am breathing out my words, trying my best to stay still for her. “M-Mommy, mommy could you please..” I trail off, groaning as I feel the tightness in my chest, my shyness making me lose the words.
“Please what? What do you need mommy to do for you, baby?” she coos into my ear, and my eyes roll slightly as she strokes my earlobe with the tip of her warm tongue.
I don’t stop myself- I can’t, starting to rock my hips against her front, feeling as if I was going to explode at any moment. I gulp and sputter before finding words.
“Fu-uck me, touch me mommy- please!” I plead out in soft whimpers, where she just responds with a hum and a sudden suck at my pulse point. I choke out a little moan, and as I do so I feel her hand slide down further to cup my mess of a cunt.
“Oh, my poor baby is so wet, isn’t she?”
With a quick nod in response she suddenly pushes her middle finger slips through my lips and slides through them to collect the messy arousal . My eyelids flutter as I feel my head grow foggy and I moan weakly, my clit throbbing in response to her touch.
“So responsive for mommy, so sensitive.. You can’t even handle mommy’s touch, can you? You dumb little thing.” Her voice just makes me sink deeper into her as I completely give into her.
She bends her finger and gently swirls the tip of it around my entrance. I groan out a few needy whimpers and nod my head, needing her inside of me. She slowly slips the end of her long finger into my entrance, and my response to that is simply clenching around it.
She helps me roll onto my back and presses herself onto me, looking into my eyes as she pushes her finger in further and starts to pump in and out of me slowly, curling her finger to hit my spongy spot perfectly.
I scrunch my face and start to let out soft little moans, my eyes growing heavy as she starts to go even faster. “Fu-uck yes mommy, need more I- please!” I look at her with the widest eyes, whimpering as her eyes have grown deeper brown instead of their usually rich honey color. “My cute little baby, you want more? God, you’re such a needy slut.” She uses her free hand to suddenly grab my face, digging her fingers into my jaw while small grunts slip out of her mouth.
Alice seems so soft, she really just looks so innocent, but she’s far from. On the outside, around others, she is never in control. She’s always talked down to, or not listened to. So when she’s home she likes to be the boss, likes to be in control. Which is the best thing for me, what I’ve always needed.
“Your mouth looks dry baby, you need mommy to fix that?” I go to respond but before I can she spits right on my tongue, making me choke out a loud moan and clench roughly around her finger.
“That was a rhetorical question, stupid whore.” She hisses, pulling her finger out before I can even react.
She brings her hand down on my puffy cunt, making me squeal in surprise. While she laughs deeply and I whine, wiggling my hips when she pulls away from me completely.
She narrows her eyes as she sits up on her knees between my legs, her soft tits bouncing slightly as she sits.
“If you don’t stop moving, mommy will leave you right here and go sleep in the guest room.” Her soft voice is gone and what replaces it is a voice that sends a straight shock to my core. I gulp and nod rapidly, obediently freezing every muscle in my body.
Her smile silently praises me and she leans on all fours, her body hovering over mine. She moves her face into my neck, and I immediately tilt my head back to give her room.
“Hm, such a good girl for mommy, my obedient little kitten.” She whispers against my neck as she leaves wet little kisses all over my neck. Just as I start melting into her touch and relaxing, she bites down hard onto my neck, immediately making me whine and buck my hips up.
Her chuckle makes me freeze again, and she soothes the bite mark she just made with her tongue before clicking it while she lifts her head up. Her face gets close to mine, twisted with fake pity.
“Poor baby, you couldn’t help but move your hips when mommy nibbled on you, huh?” she says in a sickly sweet voice, making my cheeks turn deep red. She smiles with her teeth and before I can blink she’s grabbing my throat. I gasp and arch my neck, looking into her eyes with wide helpless ones.
“M’sorry, m’sorry mommy pl-please..” I breathe out, gulping against her hand. She giggles at me and then uses her free hand to slowly pull my thigh up.
She sits up straighter while keeping her hand around my neck, positioning her hot center against mine. Her eyes flutter as they stay on mine and I can’t help but groan softly as I hear our arousal mixing together.
I let out soft whines when she doesn’t start moving, only to hear soft hushes in response. “Shh baby, just be patient. Mommy’s gonna make us feel so so good.” She breathes out, her words making my clit twitch slightly, and my hips ache with the need to move but I wanna be good for her.
Her bottom lip slid in between her teeth, her brows furrowed together and her eyes only narrowed as she started rolling her hips so slowly. I thought I was gonna explode, she knows just what to do to make that happen, too. I almost start to tear up as she tortures me with the leisurely pace, and she sees how my face starts to scrunch up.
“Oh, is my little one gonna cry? Tsk tsk tsk, we can’t have an unhappy fucktoy, can we?” She almost sounds like she’s mocking me, but the caring tone she uses only makes me clench around nothing.
The chuckle that comes out of her quickly turns into a gasp when my cunt suddenly contracts against her, but before I could even react to her reaction, she suddenly thrusts herself turbulently against my weeping pussy.
I instantly yelp in surprise my own hips bucking in response, which immediately just starts a mess of uncontrollable movements from the both of us. I know Alice can’t take anymore of even her own teasing, and God knows I can’t. So we just frantically hump against each other; grunts, whines, and squelching noises filling the air.
Her hand squeezes my neck tighter, making it that much harder to breathe, but the light fuzzy feeling from the lack of oxygen only makes me feel more pleasure.
Alice leans down above me, her breath hitting my cheek. “Fuck baby, just like that- yesssss! Keep moving like that sweet girl. Mmm fuck, you’re gonna make mommy- fuck! Gonna make mommy cum all over your pretty pussy.”
After she grunts that out in my ear I practically squeal out a whine, closing my eyes and focusing the feeling of her slightly bulging clit against my swollen one.
I make my walls clench, knowing she’ll feel it. I was right, she starts moaning louder and throws her head up the moment I do. My face twists pleadingly, and I start to practically weep for her. “Please cum mommy, pl-please make a mess on me…” With that she lets go of my neck just to reach up and grip my hair with both of her hands.
Within minutes I feel her stomach starting to contract against mine, and then suddenly she tenses hard and groans louder than ever.
“BABY! Fuck, fuck fuck take my cum- YES TAKE MY FUCKING CUM SLUT!” She bucks her hips harder than ever, and before I can say anything my orgasm hits me.
I grip onto her shoulders and let out high pitched moans, my thoughts dissipating as I can only focus on our clits pulsating against each other and Alice muttering, “Take my cum.” over and over in my ear.
After riding out our shared highs, Alice hums and burrows her face in my sweaty neck, placing little kisses on my throbbing pulse point.
“Mm, that was s’good mommy,” I mumble, whimpering as I try to clamp my legs shut, but Alice’s are tangled in mine, making it impossible. “Mommy, feel sensitive..” I whisper, wrapping my arms around her neck. She only coos softly, slowly raising her head to look down at me with a small smile.
“I know baby, let’s try to relax a little more, then we’ll have a nice, hot bubble bath, okay?” I immediately smile at the sound of that and nod slowly, giggling lightly as well. Alice grins wider and moves her hand to tuck some hair behind my ear. As she does so I can’t stop my eyes from fluttering shut, feeling so safe and satisfied in her arms.
“Oh how I love you, my sweet baby..”

Can't hide you the truth
Wilhemina Venable x reader
I've got no warnings for this os, it's essentially fluff and a bit silly. I wrote it down using these two prompts "Please, stay on the phone with me." & "Stop telling me you're fine." I've been watching a lot of Modern Family recently, so it's not exactly angsty as one would expect. I hope it's decent anyway. Lemme know <3
Tumblr media
It was the third time that I tried to reach out to her, but no answer. I know I shouldn't worry, but it wasn't like her to avoid my calls, especially if insistent. I start thinking about every little scenarios, from the worst to the least worst, with my mind focusing on the first ones obviously. What if she isn't feeling well? Maybe I did something bad without noticing? Could be? I quickly check the date on my phone, think a couple of seconds and no, it wasn't neither our anniversary nor any other special date worth remembering. I squint my eyes in thought. What was happening, then?
I tighten my grip on the wheel and let out a long sigh. On top of all of this, I'm stuck in the traffic, and visibility is partially limited due to the light haze covering the surroundings. I groan, after waiting a couple of extra minutes, "Siri, call Mina, again." I'd have tried to reach out to her on and on if I had to. I silently beg that she answers me, counting each second passing inside my head. In the meantime, I turn on the heating, because my fingers are getting cold due to their stillness on the wheel.
Finally, she answers. When I hear her voice, murmuring a soft "hi, little one", I let out a long breath, I didn't know I was holding. "Mina, hi! I've tried calling you for a while, is everything okay?", I wonder aloud, "Also, I'm stuck in traffic, " I make a face, "I go at a snail's pace if you're wondering and-", I stop a moment, realizing that, as per usual, I'm speaking on and on without giving my girlfriend the opportunity to answer any of my questions. I hear a faint chuckle from her part, when I mutter a faint, "Sorry."
"I was taking a shower, sweetheart, that's why I didn't answer," I frown at the sound of her voice, that appears to be a bit off, tired maybe... but also, kind of restrained. Normally she would tease me, use one of her sarcastic jokes to tell me how silly I am, but none today. "Are you sure it's just that?" It's not that I don't believe her. On the contrary, it's essentially because I do, that I believe there is more to it she isn't saying. Plus, she normally waits for me to take a shower, because it's our thing. One of the moments we share to enjoy the intimacy of one another. Each and every time she reminds me how much she loves to lather and rinse my hair, occasionally leaving sloppy kisses here and there on my skin. Her hands make my stomach flip and my head fly into outer space.
I avert my gaze from the street ahead of me to the phone, tempted to activate the camera, when she hums without giving me a verbal response. "Wilhemina...", I insist, in a sing song tone. She knows that when I use her full name, I'm either concerned or mad. I hope she knows it's not the latter. "Y/n...", she mimics my tone, probably wriggling her eyebrows too. I can't immediately tell if it's an attempt to take the edge off or not. Truth is, she gets particularly annoyed when I insist on asking her how she feels. I've learned to know that the last thing she wants is to feel a burden to me. It doesn't matter how many times I tell her she could never be, that my asking is simply a way to show her I love her. Yet it still doesn't stick in that stubborn head of hers for some reason.
"We have been on the phone for ten minutes and you haven't made any sexual innuendo yet," I point out. I start worrying for real, when she doesn't even chuckle at that. Perhaps, she has a bad back pain? Or maybe those dickheads at work did something bad to her? I need answers or I'll go crazy, "Little one, how many times do I have to tell you I'm fine to make you believe it?", I can tell she is trying to use a more cheerful tone, but it breaks my heart that after all this time she still tries to hide from me. I sigh tiredly, as i slowly massage the root of my nose, "we can continue for all the time you want, or you can just tell me the truth," considering I move at the pace of an ant carrying ten thousand times its weight, I let my guard down and rest my chin over my  arm.
I don't hear her tapping her cane, so I suppose she is sitting somewhere, or maybe she is lying down. She normally would have after an answer like that, but purposefully avoids what I just said, to ask, "Are you still long away? Where are you precisely?", her voice seems to crack a bit when she pronounces her second question. Or maybe it's only my imagination considering she insists on saying she is fine. I blink softly, still taking a mental note on that. "Uhm," I look around me, before answering, "I'm pretty close. If it wasn't for this traffic, I'd be there in five minutes at max. I just passed the florist on the 14th street, " I inform her and she hums. I can almost hear her breathing through the phone. It's like she is clinging to it, keeping it super close to her ear. I can almost see her frowning, her slow blinking.
If the camera was on, I'm sure I'd recognize it in a split second. "Mina...", I voice out softly, "are you in pain, love?", she takes a while to respond, giving me the further proof I didn't need. Yet, she decides to keep lying to me. "No, of course not, why would you think that?"she says flatly. As she speaks I shake my head in slow motion, without beliving a single word that is coming out of her. "Babe...", a bitter smile cracks my lips. I'm hurt honestly, but I push past that pain to focus on hers, "I told you, I'm-", "Stop telling me you're fine." I interrupt her, my voice laced with urgency and deep care. I'm pretty sure she's just rolled her eyes at me now, which puts a brief smile on my face. Wilhemina can be the most stubborn woman in the whole world, when she tries.
I lost count of all the times I reminded her that hiding, lying, pretending serve no good in a committed relationship like ours. It's okay to ask for help. It's okay to be in pain and tell your girlfriend about it. There is no shame in it, but Wilhemina is still so proud to let go to such vulnerabilities without a little fight. "Do you want me to lie to you?", I scoff and say, "You're already doing that, that's why I'd like you to stop," I grin softly, when I hear her groan on the other side of the phone.
Without noticing the car before me has come to an halt. I almost bump into it, but I manage to help it by hitting the brake by force the very last minute. My car boings off a bit and as consequence I bounce on the seat, "Woah, shit!", I curse under my breath, but loud enough for Wilhemina to hear. "Y/n? What happened?", she questions, her voice an octave higher, "Are you alright?", I can't help but melt at her caring tone, "Yeah, all good, still alive unluckily for ya, " a hint of a smile graces upon my lips, when she scoffs and calls me imprudent for getting distracted while driving.
I know how much she hates it when I multitask while on the road, but in my defense, she is giving me enough reason to worry about her with all those unnecessary mysteries. "You should keep your eyes on the street, little one. We can talk once-" I don't let her finish, letting out a loud and urgent, "No!", instead. I sigh and move my finger over my smartphone to activate the camera. When she can see me but in return I'm still facing a black screen, I snort again, "I mean it- I will not let you change the topic, Mina," nothing changes yet. "Can I see my girlfriend or should I speak to a black screen?", I pout and she hums in thought, "Come on!", I insist.
"I'd very much prefer you focused on driving, little one," she says as I hear her sigh, and slowly shift position. Something tells me she was lying down by the sound of the sheets moving underneath her. Now she is sitting up, I'm sure, "Please, stay on the phone with me," I whine, displaying my infallible, fine as hell, pickle lips. I hear a faint chuckle from her. She is probably shaking her head too. I'm dying to kiss that face once I'm back home, "Besides, I can multitask," I add to prove my point. I hear her click her tongue in response, a clear sign she doesn't agree with me, "Like that time you tried to make french toasts and record the episodes of 'Orange is the new Black'?", she teases and I gasp in shock. Each and every time, she uses that story against me to prove a point. "Stop using that story! It's as old as the birth of Rome!"
She chuckles, "It doesn't make it less efficient, though," she retorts making me snort, "If you don't turn on the camera right now I'll scream," I'm playing all the cards at my disposal now, and this one beyond my wild expectations works, "Fine! I wouldn't want to arrange your funeral for bumping into a car that goes about eight miles per hour," I squint my eyes towards her and fake a chuckle. When I finally see her, a sense of guilt rushes over me. She looks... exhausted. Her soft red locks, loose on the shoulders, are still partially damp from the shower. Her eyes looks weary, not fully open either, probably because they carry a mild headache along with the back pain. Her lips, however, are stretched in a placid smile. It feels like she is trying to force some vibrancy out of her. But she doesn't have to, especially when she isn't in the mood. I wish she knew.
"It's the back, isn't it?", I say tentatively and she simply gives me a nod of her head. "m' sorry. I'm almost there, alright?", she cracks a smile, ready to diminish her pain, but I hear none of that, "I'll take care of dinner when I come back. Lie down on the left side, I remember it's the position that is most comfortable to you, then uhm— medicine's in my bedside drawer," I continue, remembering to having put a tin of pills there. She raises an eyebrow at that, "Should I run to the drugstore to get you anything else?", if it wasn't for Wilhemina, I'd probably never stop rambling, especially when it comes to her, "Y/n, for the love of God, just relax," there is some strictness in her tone, that makes me obey like a puppy to her owner.
"I'm a big girl. I don't need a babysitter doing things for me," I know she doesn't mean to be harsh with me. It's the pain speaking for her. Instead of answering to the provocation, I simply smile at her, "Oh I know, you certainly don't need a babysitter, but I do, look--" I point out at the greenish spot on my once white and immaculate blouse, "I stained it with the avocado cream," I feel like coming back to life when her eyes soften and she lets out a quiet, low chuckle, while shaking her head, "Why am I not surprised?", she hums amusedly, and I stick my tongue out at her in response. "Have you been working like that all day long?", she wonders in disbelief, while I nod solemnly, "Yep, ma'am," I say, popping the "p" childishly, "Add the laundry to the list of things you have to do once you come back," she teases and I giggle softly, "Fist things first," I say, with a wink.
"Oh, I wonder what those would be?", I pretend to think a couple of seconds, before saying, "Kissing my girlfriend for a start, brushing her hair, giving her a massage, make her some tea, kissing her again--", Mina hardly stifles a laugh and says, "Alright, fine, I got it. Get your ass over here, I've waited long enough," I nibble on my bottom lip as I recognize the familiar twinkle in her eyes. "Oh, my, my, looks like I've arrived," I chant and before we know it I find myself stopping the car right in front of our house. She smiles and a light blush comes coloring her cheeks, "At last," she mutters, looking at me with nothing but pure love in the eyes.
