“Idk why you take so long with your hair, it seems easy.” You said, watching her while you were sat on her bed. Wednesday was reading on her bed. Ignoring you both.

She scoffs and attempts to tame her hair. “You just don’t understand y/n! It’s hard!”

You scoffed that time. “Doubt it, even I could do it.”

Wednesday pipes up. “You couldn’t tie your shoes even if they were velcro straps.”

You gasp. “I was 7! I told you that I’m confidence.”

Enid giggles as Wednesday just shrugs.

You scoff. “It’s Just hair, I can do it.”

She raises her eyebrow at you. “Wanna bet?”

You smirk. “Obviously.”

So now here you are, bows and hair ties everywhere. The confusion on your face evident.

Enid, who’s on the floor in front of you, dying of laughter.

“I don’t understand! How?! Why does it look like that?!”

She giggles. “Y/n you tried braiding my hair by twisting it, I warned you it wouldn’t work!”

You groan. “Not fair! It seem easier than it looked.”

She sighs and leans back into you. “I win the bet!”

You sigh. “Fineee.”

She jumps up and pumps her fists in the air. “YES! you gonna go broke!”

You chuckle. “Yea yea let’s go.”

(Time skip)

Your in town with enid getting frozen yogurt. The bet was she could get as many toppings as she wanted, and you regret it.

Enid is piling strawberries and sprinkles and all kinds of colorful gummies and candy in hers.

You internally cringe. -that can’t be healthy at all- you thought, as you stared at it.

She finally finished all the topping and you go to the counter to weigh it.

“Alright thats gonna be 23.31.”

You nearly choke and enid squeals. “Will that be cash or card today sir?”

You sigh and take out a credit card. “Ha- card😅.”

You pay for your yogurt and head out together, then sit on a bench.

Enid sighs as she eats the sugary monstrosity. “Thank you n/n, love youuuuu.” She says and she leans on you.

You rolls your eyes and smile. “Yea yea, love you too. Your gonna make me go broke. How can you even eat that?”

She grins, yogurt smudged on her face. “Because it’s so good!!”

You roll your eyes and smile. -so messy- you though.

You grab a napkin and wipe her face with it.

She giggles, and so do you.

yes, its from rodeoh!! in october they had some fantasy dicks on sale (for halloween reasons) and they had this one in red and black, blue and black, and white and blue!! the red and black/blue and black is a little too intense for my vibe, so i was really happy when i saw the swirly white and blue. not sure if its still up on there - probs will be hard to find again. (love rodeoh but their product listing/search function really sucks)

that’s interesting i didnt think about that. the way i see it like peter parker is always gonna be white and/or jewish but other spider ppl can be anything because they arent peter. i think gwen operates on the same rules so shes always going to be white. and also remember mcu mj is not mary-jane shes a whole different character named michelle who happens to go by mj. and ned is result of them stealing ganke from miles story and putting him in the role of ned from the comics. characters like peter gwen and mj are always gonna be white. miles is the result of asking what if spider man was black and the backlash that would come with that. (cant just make peter parker black. can have more than one spidey tho.)

i might be the only fan with this opinion but i didnt really mind or care that miles had a crush on gwen because it was clearly established in the first movie and also this movie was for kids. that being said i hated it after we learned that gwen betrayed him so awfully like if they try to repair that relationship theyre wrong and dumb im swinging like WTF. first off, i love how this fic got dark with all the stalking and yandere behaviors like it can be so fun to read, though i know that it is just to show what a horrible person jeno is but i want more it (im sorry theres something wrong with my head 😭). and wow, their relationship is not exactly the same as the first part because in this, y/n can actually dare to ignore jeno or his calls and texts, and she lied about things too (like im sorry im just so shocked because idk if im dumb or just forgetful but how long was the jump from rose-colored glasses to shattered glasses???) because why do i feel like she is a different person even tho she is still the same naive and manipulated girl like uGHHHH!!! jeno too, i know it was in the tags but i was also surprised to him being a teeny tiny bit romantic to y/n?!?!?? with his “how lucky am i to have you” or “you truly are the best thing that happened to me” even tho we all truly know why he said that :/ it just amazes me how fast jeno can turn the tables around when the both of them are fighting and how y/n quickly apologizes like when she told him that her friends know about their relationship!?! like girl, y/n stand up please why the hell are you afraid of him leaving you. but i guess i can understand her cause a bit(?) of her childhood and her relationship with her parents has been revealed. and god her father infuriates me so much 😪 (istg the psych major in me is about to unleash and make a wholeass case study on her and jeno :3) i know she doesnt have a good relationship with her brother but like jaemin infuriates me too like i was scoffing and rolling my eyes the whole time i reading through their interaction with y/n like its great he’s concerned, also cause jeno is his best friend so he knows how horrible he is but !!! at least y/n was able to wake tf up on how toxic her relationship with jeno really is. and the ending too !!! idk why i find it hard to believe everything that came out of jeno’s mouth in that scene because really, he was envious of y/n?!??!? what kinda bs is he making her believe now :/// but then again, there’s probably an explanation or theory on why the both of them turned out that way (nnghh im sorry again 😭) apparently there’s something wrong with y/n’s head too because in that scene where jeno admitted to stalking her and beating jaehyun up, she stayed and didnt leave him like that is actually so SOOO scary irl omg please what the fuck is the spell jeno put on her. i am intrigued curious looking forward on what happens next and i cant wait for the day y/n actually breaks free from jeno’s chains just as much as he is free from his demons >< tho i just read your answer to my previous ask and i respect your decision on not writing a third part for this series. i just wanna say that i enjoyed this fic and series very very very much like i actually passed an activity late because as i said i couldnt function after reading this last night. i literally was huffing and puffing unconsciously thinking of y/n’s life choices and a huge part of my day was spent zoning out trying to think of the events in this fic or like what will it take for her to actually have the guts to leave him.

no i agree, i think it's interesting to dig deep into these things. morally grey characters will never bore me and also it's kinda therapeutic, idk, it gives me the illusion i'd be able to point out similar behaviours irl and don't fall in the trap.

it has been 6 months since the end of rose-colored glasses. i think it feels different because in the first part they weren't dating until more than half of the story. like she was the worst hopeless romantic on earth and he was (still is) the biggest asshole so their relationship was less serious, unlike this part. also in the first part, she was the only one that seemed in love so maybe now it looks like she's less blindly in love just because jeno is the one that lost his mind. in my mind she is a bit stronger though, for example when they fight after coming back from the club, she snaps back and tries to leave and she is also quite firm about it but jeno's manipulative skills are just too strong. surely you know it better than me since you studied psychology (my high school years are not enough, sorry) but he switches from attacking her to loving her (love bombing her or telling her she is the one that doesn't know how to love) as soon as he realizes he's losing control, and it works because on the other hand, as soon as she gets a bit of love everything else disappears (we will blame her father for that). the only thing that seems like a red flag for her is the bet, though, she realizes he's maybe lying to her only when that thought crosses her mind and it sucks because she seriously cannot see anything else. the same thing happens in the end, she's terrified he's the cause of everything but when he confesses she stays anyway and comforts him. also she thinks he's lying but then she's like 'oh, but he finally opened up with me so all the lies he fed me with don't matter anymore,' i want to hug her and drag her out of there.

jaemin is... jaemin. i mean i don't want to defend jeno but let's be honest, it might be true that he also just wants to come between her apparent happiness, until ningning brought it up he was like ??? my sister??? is she here??? is she at home??? idc *shrugs* so yes, he's becoming more protective but i truly think that the only people she can trust are ning and yeri. also the 'funny' thing is that jaemin doesn't truly know how terrible jeno is. nobody, except her now, knows it so jaemin wants to protect her from things that aren't as problematic as the reality.

jeno is genuine in this one, as genuine as a person with manipulation as a love language can be lmao. but the last part of their fight was truly a confession. i don't want to spoil in case i might actually write another part but yes, he has something that's clinically wrong, and she has something too. they both clearly have unresolved traumas to work with. it is scary that she didn't leave, but for me is actually sad because she craves love so much that she'd rather stay there, even if jeno 'gave her'* an opportunity to leave than find healthy love. * we all know he would've started stalking her again but at least the illusion of freedom and than she could've always sued him.

Hello, Lati! So, since I'm "new" to the Sims 2 Filming Community, I mean, I've always played the Sims 2 since 2005, but I've always had stories in my head that I wanted to film, and now I'm ready to make it happen, but my actual question is, since I'm thinking of making a VO Series, should I start with subtitles since I don't have any subscribers yet? I love your series, The Rivers and Foundings, and I love your filming style a lot. I hope that I can film like you one day too! But I also wanted to ask you, did you start with subtitles too? And since I literally have no subscribers, I don't know if anyone would be interested in being a part of a new series, so yeah, what would you advise me? 🤔

Plus My series has a lot of characters since my series is inspired by many series, mainly Game of Thrones, so that's another "problem" I guess 😪

First of all, welcome!! It's always so nice to meet up-and-coming sims 2 directors, especially in 2022!!

DISCLIAMER: This is just my experience with everything! I don't think that's how everyone feels (many people still do subtitle series, and they do a FANTASTIC job at it, this is just my advise to you as someone who wants to do VO series from the get go).

I don't think it's absolutely necessary to start with a subtitle series! I did start off making subtitle series, and it did not exactly ease me into making a voice over series for the first time. I'll explain why:

Basically, a subtitle series is very different from a VO series. Sure, filming subtitle series before I did a VO helped make sure I knew how to FILM (how to manage the parameters, camera movement, how to pose the sims, what animations to use, etc), but it didn't make my transition to a VO series any easier in terms of SOUND EDITING. Which, really, is what makes or breaks a VO series!

MY EXPERIENCE WITH GOING FROM SUBTITLE TO VO: When I first started The Rivers, my first VO series, the sound quality was (to me) just God awful. I have a hard time rewatching the first couple of episodes because of it. The audio of my VAs were botched because I didn't know how to edit their background noises, the sound effects/ambience were off or too low, and the music was WAY too high. It probably doesn't bother viewers much, but as a director who's been doing VO for 6 years now, it bothers me a LOT. And back in 2016, I had already been doing subtitle series for 6 years, so I can honestly say from experience that, where sound editing is concerned, having previously worked on subtitle series didn't really do anything for me when it came to creating a VO series.

TIPS IF YOU'RE JUST STARTING: If, like you said, you've never started filming, I would advise that you start off making short machinimas instead of jumping head first into a VO series, especially a fantasy series with a lot of characters. Filming short machinimas (under 5 minutes long) is great because you can practice filming, pacing, sims making, set/world building, coloring, etc... Without it being a super large commitment. I definitely recommend them, ESPECIALLY if you don't plan on starting off with a subtitle series.

Like I said, having a subtitle series before a VO series did nothing for me in terms of sound editing, but it helped make sure I start off my VO series with decent(ish) filming and pacing (though it has evolved a lot from that, but we're always evolving)! I used to make SO many short machinimas before and during my transition to VO, and they helped a lot. I don't do them anymore, because I don't think I need to since I found my style, but they were a lot of fun.

It'll also help a lot with your engagement, because it's a perfect way to introduce people to your series. Not everyone will be inclined to sit down and watch a full episode without knowing much about your filming and writing style, but people will always have time to watch a quick, short video. That's how I made my first friends in the community, that gave me to push to transition to VO!

SUBSCRIBER COUNT AND VOICE ACTORS: When I first announced The Rivers, I actually announced it as a subtitle series. Like you, I barely had any subscribers (would get maybe 4-6 likes on a video, despite having done it for a few years), and did not think anyone would be interested in auditioning.

I don't think the subtitle series I was publishing at that time was what helped me gain enough fraction to decide to make the switch to VO. It was actually a mix of both machinima shorts I was putting out, and me trying to become more involved in the community. I would comment on people's stuff, engage with them on twitter and other socials, and just try to make friends. The sims machinima community, especially the sims 2 machinima community, is VERY tiny. Which has its perks, because we're quick to welcome each other since there's so few of us left. I would advise that you get on Twitter (if you do, let me know so I can follow you there, hehe). From there, you can post a casting call whenever you're ready, and I (and i'm sure other directors in the community) will be happy to RT to give it some engagement!

ON A SIDE NOTE, Don't be afraid to request voice actors! When I was holding auditions for The Rivers, I barely had any male voice actors auditioning for my series, so I ended up requesting most of them (like Jonah and Noah's VAs). I also ended up requesting VAs for The Foundlings (like Alec's VA), even though I had subscribers at that point! There's no shame in requesting VAs when you haven't found the perfect voice for the characters you had in mind :)

CONCLUDING THOUGHTS It is difficult to gain engagement as a sims 2 director. I don't want to pretend that it isn't. It's very rare to have the numbers that Sims 4 directors make, because people don't want to give a game as old as The Sims 2 a shot. But if you're looking to share your story with a group of passionate bunch, then don't be afraid to give it a shot :) And i'm happy to help with rt-ing or reblogging! x

200 Walls! 20/30 Followers Gift

You read that correctly, I made TWO HUNDRED walls. Why? Because I have no self-restraint 🤣

The texture of the paint as well as the skirting are from Poppet's Wall Stuff Part 2, from this download here so hugest of thanks to @poppet-sims for making it easy for me. It's a bit hard to see in...unfortunately many of the colors....but here are two colors I particularly like up closer.

I'll be honest these took me way, way, way too long and I can't be bothered to take decent pictures by this point. It's been weeks 😪 So here's a very terrible lineup of them all. Don't worry, the hex code palettes I used are included in the downloads so you can see which number 1-200 corresponds to which colors. The hexes won't be exact if you were to check, because when in gimp the colorize option always seemed lighter than what I wanted so I manually eye-balled them, but you probably don't mind.

& why not just give you a screenshot of all 40 of the palettes, despite each one being included in each download.

In case you are a sane person and don't want 200 walls, I've broken the downloads up. Each download has 5 separate folders inside the rar, and each wall is its own file so you're able to delete any colors you dislike just by matching them up with the palette image in that folder.

New manga volumes I've read in September/October: Given vol 6, Shirayuki vol 15, Witch Hat Atelier vol 8, Blue Period vol 1-4, Jujutsu Kaisen vol 9-12. Spoilers ahead!! ⚠⚠

Given vol 6: every time I read this manga im like "ah yes I wanted to start a band with no musical talent" haha aw to be young😂 I like how different the bfs relationships are, because usually you get the same trope "the sunshine and the sushine protector" which i don't mind if the story is only about them, but Given is not like that. I love Hiragi having his very intense inside monologue of how much he is in love with his bff. Not enough akihiko tho😪

Shirayuki vol 15: so much plant talk.......at least NOW i understand, no shade to fan translators I bet this was hard to translate. But I get the rocks now!! Rata and Lillias still bothers me lol not that LATA was any better, a can or a rat 🤷‍♀️ what an unfortunate name either way. Zen and shirayuki were cute here, but....and i might be bias.....why does it feel like Zen is starting to let go of shirayuki even tho its an inch, how he is a little frustrated that he isn't there when she makes decisions for her future or the "idk where those two will land in 2 years" almost like obiyuki are a set, do not separate👀 lol i still dont know what izana is planning with those two tho.

Witch Hat Atelier vol 8: OH THIS WAS A GOOD ONE, absolutely love how the pointed hats magic is so restrictive that it doesn't entirely sit well with some of them, it makes a compelling argument for the brimmed hats' magic! And a little closer for Coco to find things on her own where she can have the best of both worlds?? idk I like the conflict feels grounded. Absolutely mad that olly's creation wouldn't be accepted and LOVE the dagda and ink bottle comparison, reminded me of the teacup scene in hannibal😂 I can't believe vol 9 is releasing in 6 MONTHS, sigh i might read the chapters online bc if not i'll def forget.

Blue Period vol 1-4: this manga made me feel EMOTIONS haha the level of anxiety I felt when yatora was taking his exam oh BOY did i hate taking entrance exams but also his joy/fears about art are very relatable. This is a good manga to read if you have any level of interest in art, either for making it or admiring it, it gives you a perspective of why we are as we are😂 Not enough yuka or mori in the last volumes, hopefully they show up more! The anime adds where this manga doesn't, and that is color, there are some pages that are colored but not the ones where you'd need it as a narrative tool. So I know I'm gonna nitpick the anime but I think consuming both do give you a better perspective of the story😊

Jujutsu Kaisen vol 9-12: LOL PAIN😂 these where the last chapters of hidden inventory AND the beginning of shibuya arc, so FULL ON SATOSUGU ANGST. And choso😊🥰. I want to point out that at the end of vol 10 akutami writes something along the lines of him not contributing much to society with jjk since that vol came out in 2020, tbh I really hope he knows how grateful fans are for this series giving them something to escape to! At least it is in my case, I started jjk with the anime a year ago exactly which made the rest of my 2020 a lot better, it helped me draw more again, I'll always love this manga bc of it no matter the spooky/dark subject of it😂it was really bright fun thing to consume at such shitty irl circumstances. Anyway I miss nanamin😪
