Hey so I'm somewhat new to the Miraculous Ladybug fandom, and was wondering if you could suggest some good fanfics for me? Also I was wondering, I've seen this character called Felix in some of them and I don't know where he came from?

Oh, welcome to the fandom! There's so many fics I wish I could recommend, but I'm on mobile and have no idea how to link things, I'm sorry.

However, I can lead you to several authors here on Tumblr that you can follow that have created many great stories:

@gale-of-the-nomads : I highly recommend their Soulmate Survey AU, which is mostly pure fluff and focuses on reviving the fandom with their love for Adrienette.

@zoe-oneesama : they have an ongoing comic focused on their AU called the Scarlet Lady AU, which focuses on the idea of Chloe Bourgeois having, somehow, gotten thr Ladybug Miraculous instead of Marinette. This AU is what actually got me into the fandom, and they update mostly Wednesdays and Saturdays. Highly recommend.

@nobodyfamousposts : They have several aus as well, but the one I remember most right now would have to be the Dolls AU, where Marinette somehow has creation magic, and every doll she makes somehow comes to life. These dolls see her as their mother, and they love and protect her, especially her little Chaton. Check it out, it's pure fluff.

@ozmav @maribat-archive : they are creating content for a recent AU in which, due to a certain episode in canon that almost everybody in the fandom hates called Chameleon, Marinette is shipped with Damian Wayne after she and her class go on a field trip to Gotham to visit Wayne Enterprises. It is not Adrien, Lila, or the class friendly, but it does explore a sweet dynamic between Marinette and DCs Damian Wayne, or Robin.

@miraculously-quality-content : check out their OctoDad AU, which consists of Original Characters that explore the idea of the heroes having an actual guide in both their civilian and hero lives. With the Octopus Miraculous, the adult hero Mollusk helps the heroes battle both Hawkmoth and the challenges of life. Basically: Mollusk is a cinnamon roll that can kill you if you hurt his kids.

Here are some others that have some great AUs or just some little ficlets that are very entertaining: @lunian @ladybub @mari-cheres @miraculouscontent @miraculous-of-salt

Now, for Felix. I dont really know much either, but I do know some things, not sure if they're right tho: Felix was a character created by Thomas Astruc in the early stages of Miraculous Ladybug, which we call the PV version. It was designed as an Anime, but they later changed the company to ZAG, which designed it as we know it now.

Felix was cold, distant, and almost emotionless. He didnt want to be Chat Noir, but was cursed with bad luck, and became Chat Noir. The only way to get the curse off was to get a kiss from his partner, Ladybug, who definitely does not want to kiss him. The love square is still in effect, but more snubbing from both sides. Felix doesnt want anything to do with Bridgette, the PV Ladybug, and Ladybug doesnt want anything to do with Chat Noir. But he helps her defend Paris, so she "deals" with him. It was never completed, or even expanded on much, but the fandom really liked Felix, since he wasnt "perfect" like Adrien is made out to be.

Now, the fandom loves Felix more on the basis of "what could have been", and some fanfiction writers really took the charcater and adapted him into a more likeable character, especially after the episode Chameleon which, if you've watched it, you can find many fics and headcanons that "fix" this episode under the tag #mlsalt.

Felix also made a comeback in the fandom after someone leaked the episode names for Season 3, and we saw an Episode that revolves around Felix. The reason why is because Astruc himself had said that Felix was never going to show up in Miraculous ever again, as Astruc absolutely hated his character, but seeing an episode revolving around Felix coming up made the fandom question why? Why did Astruc lie? What is he going to do with Felix? Is he going to make Felix look worse? The fandom isnt having it so far, and had started to create content revolving around Felix and his involvement in the class, and his relationship with Marinette.

@miraculous-of-salt really made me like Felix as a love interest to Marinette in her God AU, in which Marinette is Persephone, the Goddess of Life, and Felix is Hades, the God of the Underworld, or Death.

There are so many fanfics and headcanons and ideas, that I really cant tell you how many I have seen. I've literally only been here 1 year, and I've already seen so much. Each episode that comes out helps us to create more content for our fanfictions, and with Lila Rossi reentering the picture this season, most fanfictions have her as the main antagonist, apart from Hawkmoth, as she is now seen as a greater evil.

You can also check out @ao3feed-ladynoir for more ML fanfiction. They almost regularly post new Fanfiction links to AO3, and they cover almost everything.

So I’m reading this fic called “Nolite te Bastardes” and the author said this was your tumblr account and I was wondering if you are planning on continuing the fic? It’s been a long time since you updated and it’s really interesting and I’d like to read more of it

Yep this is my tumblr! Thanks for reading that even tho its been dead for like 3 years now? I really want to say that Im not done with it and that I have plans but honestly i really dont have the motivation to write it anymore.

One reason being that Im in a premed program rn and writings been pushed to aside for my studies. Im actually fairly certain the last update i did for NTB was my last year in high school before i started the program, which explains why i dont post as regularly anymore. Another reason is that NTB is really dark and when i started writing it i was in a really bad state of mind, and to continue writing it brings me back to that mindstate.

Im really sorry! For all of my hiatus works, I leave them open in the hopes that one day Ill want to complete them but for now, with my mental illness and coursework, writing isn’t my main priority.

(I actually have the next chapter for NTB written in my docs, but i really hate it and never got to posting it)

It’s a Boy-Girl Thing - E.D.

Authors note: I’M BACK! for those who care: my holiday was sO MUCH FUN OH MY GOD!! I had the bEST time!!! sadly school has started again and i’m drowning in homework again!!!

disclaimer 1: over these past few weeks I’ve received so many asks about whether or not I was still gonna update this: the answer is YES!

I hate the feeling of letting you all wait or maybe letting you down when i’m not posting as often as i (and you) would want me to.

the things is that (and this might come as a shocker) actually do have a life outside of tumblr. I’m in my senior year of high school and I trying to get good grades, so I can get into a good university next year...

I do love writing this and I am so excited to continue writing this story (and more!!) and I will not stop until this story is finished!!! I promise ahha!! I see those messages as a compliment (bc apparently you all like this very much and want to read more) but sometimes they make me feel a little bad/stressed because i feel like I’m let you all down... so yea..... I hope you all understand!

Part 9 一 ANIMOSITY

Summary: Ethan and Y/N are neighbors. And although Y/N is on good terms with Ethan’s twin brother Grayson, Y/N and Ethan loathe each other and are constantly in dispute. Ethan is a populair varsity football player, who likes to be in the spotlight. Y/N prefers to stay under the radar, while reading books and poetry.

Although the constant bickering between the two drives everyone around them crazy - the two live their separate lives peacefully. At least that’s how it was until they wake up one morning and every had changed…

You liked sports. You honestly liked being active. But not in late summer, when it was hot like an oven outside and the air humid.

You could feel the sweat dripping down your back, your shirt completely drenched. Your heart beat banging in your head and your legs shaking. You squint your eyes against the intense sunset.

Ethan had made you run around the field all afternoon. He had made you run laps, do pushups, situps and all different sorts of exercises which names you had forgotten right after Ethan said you could stop doing them. After finishing you had dropped yourself next to Ethan on the grass: completely worn out.

‘What are you doing?’ Ethan had asked.

‘I’m taking a break. Actually, not even a break: I’m done! I think if I continue I might get a heart attack or something,’ you breath still went rapidly.

Ethan just laughed while grabbing a water bottle from the cooler he had taken with him. ‘What are you on about? This was the warming up!’ He threw a cold bottle of water next to you in the grass. Your hands quickly opened it and you gulped down half of the bottle before glaring at Ethan.

‘I’m definitely warm…’ You mumbled annoyed.

Slowly you had gotten up from the grass and Ethan had made you catch footballs for an hour. The sun was now setting and your whole body ached. You fell onto the bench at the side of the field.

‘I don’t think I’ll ever be able to leave this bench. I can’t carry your body anymore Eth,’ you sighed and wiped your forehead with his shirt. It didn’t help much: your shirt was completely soak. Ethan stood in front of you, grinning. Silently you watched the sunset behind the hills.

‘Let’s go home,’ you said, getting up. You grabbed your bag and looked at Ethan. He was still smiling at you. ‘I thought you said “you were never gonna be able to get off that bench”,’ he chucked at you. You rolled your eyes, but couldn't help but let a smile creep on your face.

‘We really need to head home though. Grayson said something about a party this morning and I think he really wants to go,’ you say as you walk towards the parking lot where Ethan had parked your car earlier.

‘Who’s hosting the party?’ Ethan asked you, eyeing your in a curious manner.

‘Austin, I think…’ You say, trying to remember what Grayson had said this morning. ‘He said Austin invited you both. And that it would be a big party. Apparently his parents are out of town.’

‘You should go,’ Ethan says, as he opens the trunk. You put the footballs and bottles of water and other training gear in the trunk.

‘I don’t want to go,’ you say in all honesty. Ethan rolls his eyes as he closes the trunk again.

‘Grayson and I never go somewhere alone-’

‘Yea, that’s kinda weird: you two should try to being more independent,’ you cut him off. Ethan eyes you angrily - irritated that you cut him off, but ignores your comment.

‘Like I said, before you cut me off: we never go somewhere alone. If Grayson wants to go: you go with him,’ Ethan says as he walks towards the driver seat. You walk towards passengers seat and get into your car.

‘I don’t like those kind of parties! What do you want me to do while I’m there?! Also; this could only go wrong. Someone will definitely notice something’s off!’ You tell him, trying to convince him why you shouldn’t go to Austin’s party.

‘You can try talking to some girls?’ Ethan suggests chuckeling, but quickly comes back from his idea: ‘Wait, no! Don’t talk to girls! You’ll for sure embarrass me!’

You glare at him. ‘What’s that supposed to mean?’

‘Y/N, you might have a 4.0 on your GPA but you definitely don’t have a 4.0 in flirting,’ Ethan laughs at his own joke.

‘I’m not that bad….’ You say softly.

‘You know what, I’ll go to the party as well. That way I can keep an eye on you so you don’t embarrass me too much.’ Ethan says. You give him another glare. Annoyed how he won’t trust you.

The field wasn’t far from your home. Ethan parked in front of the Dolan house and you got out of the car.

‘Do you need to pick an outfit for tonight too - or do you trust me to pick one out myself without embarrassing you?’ You snarled at him. Ethan looked unimpressed by your remark.

‘Nah, you’re good,’ he simply said, pushing a strand of your long hair out of his face. In the days that he had been trapped in your body, he had only wore your hair down. It was now that you relised it was probably because he didn’t know how to tie a ponytail with long hair. You huffed and walked towards the trunk where you got the footballs and other training gear.

You walked towards the Dolan house without saying goodbye to Ethan. You dumped the training gear in the garage and walked immediately upstairs. You grabbed a clean pair of undrwear and some basketball shorts and walked towards the shower.

You took a quick shower - the same way you did that morning. This time the towel didn’t drop and you got the underwear on in one go. You stood infront of Ethan’s side of the sink and sprayed on some cologne. You closed your eyes as you inhaled the scent: it was smelled very good.

You walked out of the bathroom and layed down on Ethan’s bed. The party wouldn’t start till 9:30 - so you had a good three hours to kill.

Before you really could think of something to do, Grayson barched into the room. These boys left eachother no privacy did they?!

‘E,’ he exclaimed as he jumbed on the bed next to you, ‘wanna play some video games?’

And before you knew it, you were walking towards Grayson’s room. It was practially the same as Ethan - but with different colored bedsheets and instead of a poster of a motercycle there was a poster of old looking car. You recognised Grayson’s Ford Bronco - altough the one on the poster was red in color. Grayson turned the PlayStation on and handed you a controller.

‘Dude!!’ Grayson yelled at you. You stared at the screen. “YOU DIED” it read in thic red letters.

‘I swear I shot them first! I don’t know how I died?!’ You said annoyed.

‘Why are you so bad at this game?! Did you lose all your skills while haning out with Y/N today or something?!’ Grayson said jokingly, although he stilled looked a little annoyed at you for losing.

‘No,’ you mumbed while restarting the game. Playing video games was more fun then you innitionally thought it would be. Grayson was good company too, chatting away about his day.

‘How is Y/N doing?’ Grayson asks suddenly. You huff, concentrating on the game, ‘she’s good.’

Grayson falls back on the bed, starring at the ceiling, ‘she looks good.’

His comment makes you forget the game and within a second the red letters spelling out “YOU LOST” fill the tv screen again.

‘What’s that supposed to mean?’ You ask Grayson, confused. Grayson gives you a ‘like you don’t know what I’m talking about’-look. You gave him the ‘I-really-don’t-have-a-fucking-clue-what-you’re-talking-about-so-tell-me-now’-kind of look.

‘You said it yourself E: she has a good ass!’

You look at him in shock. It was weird hearing Grayson making comments about your ass - well just any ass - without getting red and flushed.

‘I never said that!’ Ethan would never say something like that about you!

‘Yea you did, like three days ago,’ Grayson says while taking the controller from you hands. ‘But don’t worry, I won’t tell Sophia tonight.’ He chuckles at his own joke. He walked towards the PlayStation and turns it off.

‘Is she gonna be there too?’ You mentally roll your eyes. Your energy level for this party just dropped to minus 6.

‘Yea, so let’s have some diner and get ready for this party,’ Grayson says as he walks out of his room. When he’s halfway down the stairs you hear him laugh and say:

‘and don’t forget to bring protection! We don’t want any surprises in 9 months!’

Hey maybe... Don't gripe about specific fics you hate in the tags? I know it's useful to vent, but a LOT of AO3 authors hang out in the Tumblr tags, and if I can reasonably guess which fics you don't like, the authors almost certainly cab. If you aren't comfortable leaving it in a comment on the fics itself, maybe leave it out of the main tag?

on the one hand, i had no idea that the hzd tag was such a visited tag - that it can even be classified as the main tag ? - and in particular, so regularly visited by fanfic writers who haven’t updated in one to two years (i.e. my assumption was that they would not be checking an archival tumblr tag every day). i chose the tag for archiving so-called vents because i figured the official long form name would be where fandom would be at.

additionally, i have a strict policy of being able to say whatever the fuck i like on my own blog - and also the policy of strictly tagging shit because i have the vague hope that the tumblr search function will work as intended one day, i dont want to burden my idk 10 active followers, and i have a slightly compulsive need to collect things in an orderly fashion

on the other hand, you have a point because, would i write ‘i do not agree with some of your interpretations or these specific narrative choices for these reasons’ on a fic? NO! because that is not correct ao3 etiquette even if i myself would appreciate a comment like that. would i be entirely comfortable if fanfic writers stumbled across my comments here on tumblr? again, not entirely, for the simple reason that it was not intended for their eyes. and this is good to think about. I had not realised there was the slightest chance of that.

then again, the nature of the tumblr tagging system is that if you go into a tag you will come across stupid personal posts a lot and in general i think it’s ridiculous to police a whole tag on other-than-positive opinions on things that people have published on a completely different website

then again! godDAMN why is this fandom so small??? 600 or so fics??? we need more. that makes your assertion plausible.

then again, do i think my comments count as ‘gripes’ or ‘not liking’ the fic? I think my comments are based in a very clean difference of opinion on interpretation. and not a dig at the author or the writing. in fact, i specifically note i might pick the fic up again (implied: for all the other the parts i enjoy) in conclusion, i will remove all identifying features in the post because I trust you, anonymous anon, and your apparently veteran knowledge of this fandom and its authors’ tag haunts.

i, too, stand by the belief that myungjun would be the best kisser, bc have you seen those lips. this fic, tho, is really really fun. i like the creative ways in which minhyuk has kissed every member, and i like the CUTE SOCKY I LOVE CUTE SOCKY. @jinwoosmile blesses us with her fanfics. (go send her love and encouragement to get through these coming school days!)

BOY IF YOU CANT SEE THIS HAPPENING THO. it was such cute fluff!!! i always love the creative ways in which @heybinnie writes; it leaves me melting into a pile of goo and happiness. this one’s a little shorter and features moonbin as the title character and it’s worth every single second of reading.

@maye-c has always been able to capture myungjun’s dorkiness, childness, and yet maturity (sexiness, too, hOLLA) in her fics and this one just swung right into my heart very very very very quickly. it’s adorable and funny (I LAUGH SO MUCH) and every single bit as perfect as all of mayec’s other works, i love her and her writing!

A must watch for Tom Hiddleston admirers (like me!!) Last TV show I watched: Supernatural (hands down all the time) What I’m wearing now: Pjs and a comfortable turtleneck. When I created this blog: 1 year give or take. The kind of stuff I post:my chapter updates and covers, harry potter and supernatural posts, and any thing that catches my eye when im tumblr-ing.
