Ignihyde: When They're Sick

Broskis, do you know how hard it is to write about an advanced AI robot kid getting sick? I had to actually use my brain to figure out how it might work, but I’m proud of what I ended up with, so I guess it all ended well. Please do enjoy!

Ignihyde: When They’re Sick

Oddly enough, when your diet consists of nothing but junk food, and you stay awake all night, it’s not uncommon to become sick. Idia knows this and tries to take somewhat decent care of himself, but it’s not going to stop him from eating noodles for every meal and sleeping after the sun has long since come up. In summary…Idia often finds himself sick from his own doing. This normally wasn't a problem since he could do online classes and had Ortho taking care of him, but when his beloved little brother happened to have gotten a virus somehow and was barely functioning. This meant Idia and Ortho were left to their own devices in trying to not die from a common illness and a computer virus.

Idia Shroud

Honestly Idia simply doesn’t care when he’s sick. Oh so he can’t sit on his computer all day without wanting to pass out? That’s fine, he has a handheld console and mobile games he needs to catch up on anyway. He isn’t the best at taking care of himself, which is why Ortho is normally the one to do it. When Ortho isn’t around…Lord help this man. He will be gaming even in death; health be damned. He will ignore all signs that his body is telling him to rest and continue to stay awake too late and chug energy drinks, even if he knows it’s going to make him worse.

How you found out he was sick without Ortho being there to inform you had to be some sort of magic. Idia is reluctant to even let you into the room, but he acknowledges the fact that you simply won’t leave and will bust down the door if he doesn’t; so he allows it. He’s going to be humiliated at the fact that you need to take care of him, and will constantly be saying that he’s gross and you shouldn’t get near or else you might get sick too. Ignore him and take care of the boy, he needs it. He can be scolded for self-deprecation when he’s all better, for now just assure him that he’s not gross and if you didn’t want to help him, you wouldn’t be there.

Honestly he doesn’t really need a whole lot of medication to make him feel better, the bare minimum is required. He might complain about it the entire time, but in the end he’ll take whatever you’ve brought. He swears up and down it won’t be very helpful, but after he starts feeling better he’s singing a different tune, but silently. He at least won’t complain when you hand him some pills anymore and take it without question. He’s going to call them stamina potions though to make himself feel better, saying he needs them to get rid of the sick buff he’s dealing with.

Unless you’re going to be chilling with him in his room for the entire time he’s sick, you’ll need to raid his bedroom and take away all the energy drinks, snacks, and instant noodles. They’re gonna make him feel worse but if he’s hungry and needs a boost of energy, he’s grabbing those when you’re not around. Thankfully he’s too ill and socially awkward to leave his room while he’s dying from a cold, so he won’t go out and grab things he doesn’t need. Leave him some healthy snacks and water bottles when you leave, and when you come to feed him make sure it actually has some nutritional value. His body might not know what to do with vegetables right away, but it’ll sort itself out in due time.

He doesn’t want to talk about it when he’s better; acting like it never happened is the best way to go about it. He will thank you a few times, and if you’re a gamer expect him to be sending you new skins for your characters, or dlc to your favorite games. He won’t say it’s for helping him while he’s sick, but you’ll know. He knows as well; and Ortho especially knows since the moment he’s back to normal he’s interrogating his brother about how he miraculously got better.

Ortho Shroud

Ortho isn’t going to be getting sick in the traditional way since he’s a robot, but something like a virus could cause some serious damage. Of course it doesn’t ever really happen, but sometimes things can’t be accounted for. One wrong site with the right kind of hacker and it’s over. Virus was installed and now Ortho is all out of sorts while Idia is trying to figure out how to get rid of it. If it’s a complex one…well it might take a day or two.

Ortho is still functioning to some degree, but his battery life keeps getting sapped and he’s constantly sitting on a charger and a little mopey that he can’t do what he normally does. It’s probably why he messaged you, since he can’t exactly assist his brother either. The moment you find out you better be over there to help out the little brother. The poor dear is going through it and doesn’t even know what’s wrong. For all he knows, it could infect his memory database and destroy everything he’s learned about you. So just sit there and help him out.

Laughter is the best medicine in this situation, so as long as you’re not bothering Idia, feel free to try and make Ortho feel more comfortable. Grab your phone and watch stupid cat videos, talk about something random that’s happened in your day, and play some multiplayer games on handheld devices. He’ll instantly be feeling lighter and more like himself, even if he does have to constantly reboot throughout the entire day.

While Ortho is rebooting or recharging and is offline, you might as well help Idia in any way you can. As long as that man is functioning, Ortho can be fixed. So maybe just bring him something to eat, maybe grab some water. It’s all for Ortho in the end anyway, and Idia will thank you for helping him. You might be asked to help him figure some simple things out, or check on Ortho as well.

Once the virus is cleared from his system he is going to be so energetic and asking to go and do things with you. He doesn’t even know how to begin repaying you for this, but he promises once he figures it out, he’ll let you know. He’ll be asking Idia for advice, but the poor man doesn’t have a single clue either. It’s the thought that counts, and just seeing Ortho being peppy and energetic again is all you really need, especially when you discover that nothing is permanently damaged in his hard drive.

Your fantasy AU sounds fun… Do you have any other thoughts?

Mostly just world building if I'm being honest. The real spicy thoughts could count as spoilers so I'll try to put some fun things first before the building block stuff.

Yuu has a lot of physical damage on their body, and a pendant they're extremely protective of but don't remember why. I had a specific idea for that pendant was in the first outline but since I'm not 100% on this being a JadeYuu fic anymore I'm keeping it vague.

Yuu has some vague memories of being in a coma and several people talking to them, but they don't know who they were or what they talked about. It really hurts their head to think about, but they truly trust Idia and aren't afraid of him or Ortho. Somehow they know neither of them are responsible for what happened... or maybe they just don't blame them?

Idia is the one who brought Yuu to his and Ortho's house, but not everyone who should knows that they're there. Ortho doesn't know how Idia knew where to find them and has decided to not ask questions.

Ramshackle Party currently consists of Ace, Deuce, Yuu, and Ortho! Jack, Epel, and Sebek might join later but I'm undecided if they'll be permanent or temporary members. Ace is meant to be a rogue, Deuce used to be a barbarian who has been training under Trey to try and be a proper knight, Ortho is an alchemist, and Yuu is a mechanist a la FFXIV. Or gunslinger if you prefer that. Grim still follows them around and insists he's a great mage but his magic is... well you know.

Oh and Jack is a druid, Epel is an unwilling palidan/squire, and Sebek is also a palidan sworn to the oath of the crown.

Speaking of Trey, he and Riddle are influential members of the Queendom's royal guard, with Riddle being the Commander and Trey being his Second. Cater used to be a freelance information broker who has settled in the Rose Court as the chief of it's spy network, but he's publicly known as a semi famous bard. Neither Ace or Deuce know his real job ha.

Speaking of information brokers, Azul is still a merchant. He doesn't have a monopoly on physical goods since Sam is still here, but his information services can't be beat. He's actively involved in mapping the labrynth floors and has a lot of pull within the Adventure's guild. The twins still work with him but Floyd like to run off and explore the labrynth on his own for funsies sometimes.

Leona is actually a fairly influential politician in this AU, he's lacking the color scheme but he's in his Duke of the North era. He's known for being the first real adventurer in the labrynth, but how that came to happen, and all of his current personal life, are unknown to the general public. He sends Ruggie to bother Idia a lot.

No one knows how many floors the labrynth has, the S.T.Y.X. keeps detailed track of the known floors and assigns them a difficulty ranking based on things like terrain, monsters, weather etc. The Charon units are stationed at all known entrances to check if people trying to enter have the proper adventurer rank and to keep an eye out for dead mages.

Speaking of that, only mages can be resurrected if they die in the labrynth. Magicless people do occasionally venture in, but usually as merchants and never past floor 10.

The Adventure's Guild has a ranking system that determines how deep into the labrynth you're allowed go. Idia is an Obsidian ranked adventure, which prevents him from forming a party with Ortho who is only Bronze rank. Idia's party he gained that rank with has since disbanded, which makes things annoying for him as adventures are required to form a party with a minimum of four people before adventuring. Ortho has only really met one of Idia's previous party members, but he looks up to him a lot. Idia never talks about the other ones.

I have an idea for what I want to do with Malleus but it's a bit... weird? And I'm not 100% sold on it yet. I need to think more. But I know Briar Valley doesn't have much of a presence in the Labrynth or it's nearby town as they have been able to prevent it from spreading into it's territory. Silver and Sebek do occasionally participate in some of the exploration of the lower levels S.T.Y.X does though.

Idia's Signature Spell Is So.... Meh....

Dude, Idia's signature spell is LITERALLY JUST A FUCKING KEY!

It lets him open a fucking door in S.T.Y.X. headquarters.

If you're curious, Ima list out the characters and their signature spells! (Don't worry, I'll link the post I got this info from here.)

Riddle - Off With Your Head - He basically puts a heart collar on someone and they can't use magic. Only he can take it off.

Trey - Paint The Roses - He can overlay an item's sensory characteristic with another characteristic of his choosing. Can sometimes work on magic, but it's not easy.

Ace - The asshole doesn't have one.

Deuce - Double Down - You hit him, he stores up the energy and hits back twice as hard. (Only with magic though) He has to reach a minimum to be able to use it though.

Cater - Split Card - He can split himself into multiples of himself. The more clones, the harder it is to do.

Leona - King's Roar - He can turn anything he touches into sand, even people. He has to do a chant though.

Ruggie - Laugh With Me - He can control a person by having them copy his movements. The more people, the harder it is, naturally.

Jack - Unleash The Beast (what are you, fucking Hulk?) - He can turn into a wolf. That's it.

Azul - It's A Deal - He can technically just take someone's magical ability, but that can cause harm and fast blot accumulation. To compensate, he creates a contract that could potentially take the signers ability depending on the terms of the contract.

Jade - Shock The Heart - He can force a person to truthfully answer any question he asks. However, they have to look directly into his left eye, they can't be too trusting or have strong mindsets or be very loyal, and it only works on the person once. (Kinda a shit ability to have that many requirements when compared to the fucking mind control abilities that don't need anything)

Floyd - Bind The Heart - He basically makes a force field (not really) around him that deflects magic attacks, making the magic attack miss him. Much simpler and better than whatever the fuck Jade's is, I swear.

Kalim - Oasis Maker - He can make it rain fresh water. Has to do a little chant though. (Some of these abilities, I fucking swear)

Jamil - Snake Charmer - He can hypnotize multiple people to do his bidding. Too many and he accumulates a ton of blot, and I think they have to look in his eyes? (Maybe. But also, why is controlling people easier than making them truthfully answer a question?! Wtf?!)

Vil - Fairest One Of All - He can put a curse on whatever he touches with whatever conditions he wants. He can't lift the curse at all, though, and I think he can be affected by his own curses (maybe), and I believe he can put a condition that gives the curse a time limit? (There's a lot of maybes on his. Sorry)

Rook - I See You (what a terrifying name holy fuck) (My bad, the ENG name is Arrow Afar. Idk wtf is up with JPN tho) - He can mark someone with his magic and track them. However, if they end up somewhere with magic blockers, he can't track them (obviously).

Epel - Sleep Kiss (The ability is too cool for that shit name) (Nevermind, the ENG name is Crimson Slumber which is much cooler) - He can make a glass coffin around someone that forces them to sleep inside. It also protects the sleeper, so it's either a defense for them, or a prison to keep them contained.

Idia - Gate To Underworld - He can open and close a fucking door.

Ortho - Poor little guy doesn't have magic.

(Ok, these below I'm not too certain on, so some of them may be wrong)

Malleus - Fae Of Maleficent (right on the nose) - He can make anyone near him fall asleep. (No more sleeping problems for Yuu)

Lilia - Far Cry Cradle - He can see fragments of memories attached to items or people he touches. (Silver could never keep a secret from this man)

Silver - Meet In A Dream - He can enter people's dreams. Very simple.

Sebek - Living Bolt - I'm not too sure about this one, but he either uses very strong lightning magic or actually turn into lightning. (Crocodile lightning.... pfft)

So yeah. that's pretty much it.

Some of these abilities are kinda shit. (Jade, Idia)

But the rest are cool I guess.

Once you're inside your room, you go to the bathroom to clean yourself up, but, when you go to take the collar off, you can't. There's no physical lock, but you can't undo the buckle. You groan, stupid magic collar with a fucking magic lock. You still clean yourself up and pass out on your bed soon after.

The next morning you wake up to a new uniform and a note. Apparently, you're now allowed to wear panties with your uniform, which would be amazing, if the maid dress wasn't even skimpier! Hey, may I ask what you thought of how they dealt with Rollo in the end? I heard that he doesn't really get punished and I'm confused about why that is since he posed such a threat to all of Twst Wndrlnd

I’ve actually received several similar asks about this matter, so I’d like to analyze the ending here. (This is coming out a few months after the event because I kept going back to add thoughts and revise large parts of this post.)

I’ll look at some of the common points brought up as to why some felt that the conclusion was not satisfying, then give my thoughts on them and discuss Rollo’s fate in detail.

***Spoilers ahead!!***

Mmm, I feel like I’ve seen similar complaints (about how the main conflict was resolved) floating around in the fandom. I’ve seen a number of fans express upset with this conclusion, most often citing that “Rollo got off too easy” and “his punishment should have been worse”. Some people have even stated they wanted Rollo arrested and/or extreme physical violence to be enacted on him (Malleus killing Rollo and/or the NRC boys beating him up badly).

Firstly, this is nothing new for how TWST typically deals with resolutions of massive conflicts and characters with deep trauma. Every single one of the OB boys also got let off relatively scot-free despite also putting others in grave danger. From a meta perspective, this makes sense. TWST has always been and always will be a game that asks us to empathize with villains, to show us that behind every evil, there is a chance to be good--and by offering them the chance to repent and to reflect, they can rehabilitate on their own terms.

I feel that a lot of this demand for “more” in Rollo’s case stems from a fundamental difference between him and the OB boys (who are also largely forgiven and let off with a slap on the wrist for their actions). This, of course, is that Rollo’s plans were far greater in scale and had immediate consequences on a larger population than any OB would. By all metrics, Rollo has done “worse”, and thus should warrant a “worse” punishment than being forced to play in a Magift tournament or being forced to perform onstage after taking substantial damage (ie as were the cases for Leona, Vil, etc.) in the eyes of some fans.

While I do agree that what Rollo did was deplorable and that he got off lightly compared to the gravity of his crimes, I don’t think that he deserves “more” of a punishment, and certainly not anything close to physical harm. Like... realistically, what would inflicting physical harm onto Rollo do for anyone? Catharsis? That’s but a temporary emotional release for the ones inflicting the pain, and it ultimately doesn’t do anything meaningful. That’s just an “easy” solution that doesn’t actually solve the core problem. If Rollo is kicked while he’s down, won’t that just make him double down on his ideals? And if he gets slain, that’s just an “easy” way out so the NRC students don’t actually have to deal with others of dubious morals existing in their world. Their group includes several people who were shown mercy at their worst moments (Riddle, Jamil, Azul, Idia), and to refuse Rollo the same would make them massive hypocrites.

Violence aside, there’s also significant disappointment that Rollo’s actions are being kept a secret, so that the public cannot hold him accountable for what he has done. The very minimum some fans wanted was for the City of Flowers locals and/or NBC students to become aware of Rollo’s true nature, and thus turn on him for it. This is very similar to Vil’s OB in episode 5, when he comes close to revealing his unsightly self to the public and risks tarnishing his public image. Again, I feel that Rollo isn’t extended the same courtesy because of the scale of his ambitions, but also because he doesn’t automatically express remorse for what he did (whereas Vil apologizes so many times over). What we need to keep in mind is that characters are different from one another, so what is seen as awful and world-ending is not the same for one character as it is to another. In my opinion, THIS is what makes the conclusion to Glorious Masquerade so fitting.

I want to point out here that in choosing to not expose Rollo or to beat up/kill him, it doesn’t mean the NRC boys entirely forgive him or that they aren’t holding him accountable for his actions. They call Rollo out several times throughout the climax and falling action, telling him how deplorable he is and how he’s endangering so many lives in the process of pursuing his “justice”. How they ultimately choose to deal with him is an extension of that, but it doesn’t involve needless violence.

Rollo’s punishment is a personalized hell in HIS eyes, even if we, the audience, don’t see it that way and call for “more” justice. Just because his punishment isn’t immediately tangible or isn’t recognized by a large population doesn’t make it any less of one, and this shouldn’t be underestimated. To “punish” does not necessarily mean its easy to see, it just means that it is substantially punishing to the one receiving it. That alone is enough, and it is something that is acknowledged by both the NRC boys and Rollo himself.

After Rollo is defeated, he knows that he will inevitably receive the consequences for what he has done. He tells the NRC boys to punish him, take him to the authorities, to basically do whatever they see fit to him, and he will accept it without resistance. Rollo expects ruthlessness, that he will not be granted any sort of forgiveness. Why is that? Because Rollo is ruthless with himself, and he expects the world and the other people in it to act no differently towards him. It’s not that Rollo has automatically realized the error of his ways, but that he is, as his mob students describe him, “hard on others and hard on himself”. Rollo has ultimately failed to accomplish his goal, and he believes he must be punished for this failure.

But, much to Rollo’s surprise, that isn’t what he gets. Malleus and co. lead him down the bell tower, and when they run into NBC’s vice president and student council aide, they show that they were worried for him. Rollo tries to explain to what happened to them. However, Malleus cuts him off and claims that they don’t know how the crimson flowers even started growing and overtaking the school and the city to begin with. Idia and Azul chime in, giving vague details like that Rollo was already up the bell tower before they were, and they allow the NBC mob students to make their own assumptions about what happened. Because the mob students revere Rollo so much, they come to the conclusion that he was a selfless hero and worked with the NRC students to save the day, then praise him for his heroism and emphasize just how proud they are of him. They even say Rollo is like the Just Judge of legend, someone that we know Rollo admires.

And the twisted thing about all of this is that the NRC boys just purposefully never bother correcting them. At this point, neither can Rollo. The mobs have piled on so much praise, have expressed so much concern for their president's safety, so how would they feel to have all of that hope and happiness come crashing down on them? What would happen if those feelings turned into betrayal and hurt? It is these types of questions that speaks to the true gravity of Rollo's "punishment".

He at first accuses the NRC boys of hiding the truth because they pity him, and he's insulted by the perceived pity. However, as Azul explains, it is not pity. Malleus and the others will allow Rollo to confess to his sins or pretend like nothing happened. In fact, it is the perfect punishment for someone like Rollo, someone who is so hard on themselves and cannot come to terms with the truth of his own insecurities. Rollo doesn't seem to realize it right away, so he instead grows cocky and says it's basically the same as him being absolved. On the contrary, as Malleus points out, while lying to himself will make it easier for him to deceive others, Rollo cannot lie to the Bell of Salvation--a precious magical artifact which Rollo has been tending to for some time now, the one thing that watches over everything in the City of Flowers, and the object used by Rollo to sow cataclysm.

It is the bell's eyes which bring Rollo to his senses and makes him realize how insidious the NRC boys truly are. In leaving him to his own devices, knowing that the Bell knows the truth while others continue to praise him for what are ultimately lies will plague him with never-ending guilt and remorse. Even if Rollo doesn't automatically acknowledge those feelings, there will still always be an unconscious part of him that does--must like how there's a part of him that seeks salvation for others as an unspoken excuse to seek salvation for himself. He calls others monsters, but does not look in the mirror and see himself for the monster that he is. The problem with Rollo is that he deflects and blames others rather than accepting his share of the responsibility for tragedies, and so forcing him into a situation where he is forced to confront his role in committing great evil or live every day with that burden, is his own living hell. Rollo says it himself: the "villains" of NRC are well-versed in "tormenting" people.

Living on with the weight of his sins is literally a fate WORSE than death for Rollo specifically. He is someone who has had a history of internalizing guilt already (as is evident in his motivations and backstory), so this is where it will hurt him most. Rollo has to go around every day with full awareness of what he did, and knowing that if it were to ever get out, he’d likely be seen completely differently by his peers, maybe even become a social pariah. And that’s the point. In realizing that others will judge him differently when they know of his “true” self, Rollo has the chance to see his own rights as “wrong”. He is being left with himself and his festering thoughts, with his sin–something he can never, EVER be rid of. Every day, he will pass by the statue of the Just Judge, an admirable role model for justice, a figure whom others believe you live up to, knowing he has buried his own sins that the Judge would have wished eradicated. Every day, those intense feelings of guilt, shame, and regret will be with him, eating away at him, and Rollo will suffer immensely as a result. “There is nothing that would torment Flamme more than this, correct?” Malleus says. Rollo himself also acknowledges that this would make him suffer; both parties are confessing that this is the best course of recompense for Rollo.

This is a slightly different scenario than other serious situations kept hidden from the public, such as Jamil and Vil's Overblots. In those cases, their OBs were not kept secret in order to punish them, but rather to shield their families and/or the public from the knowledge that they had lost themselves. Unlike Jamil and Vil, Rollo ISN'T worried about how his actions may impact others, and he isn't remorseful or apologetic, because he still refuses to see he is wrong and refuses to change. When faced with this stubbornness, the NRC students have chosen to make him "look in a mirror" first. That is a process that will bring him great pain in the actual setting of the world and its story--but at the same time, it does a favor for the fans by offering Rollo a chance at redemption, much like the OB boys have.

From another angle, this is also the oddly kind thing to do in regards to those in Rollo’s life. No one has to suffer with the knowledge that their “golden boy” has committed a grave sin well, except that one gargoyle. They can keep living on in blissful ignorance... and thus put further strain on Rollo mentally, who will face his punishment ALONE, just as he did when lashing out at all magicians. This is something that Idia points out: that Rollo is allowed to be upset, that he is allowed to rampage, but that he shouldn’t hurt others or get them involved with his own rage. And now, like he did with his crimson flower plot, Rollo is alone in the aftermath.

In another way, this fate is a cool parallel because of Rollo being twisted from Frollo. If you watch the opening to the Hunchback of Notre Dame movie, Frollo comes close to killing baby Quasimodo because he is so repulsed by his deformed appearance. However, as another character points out to Frollo in that scene, he can never “hide from the eyes of Notre Dame”. This prompts Frollo to take notice of all of the statues surrounding him, their stone eyes staring and silently judging him. It is this that ultimately makes Frollo change his mind about killing Quasimodo, instead choosing to raise him as his own son and bellringer. In Rollo’s case, this is also true. In the NRC boys granting him his freedom and keeping his actions a secret, Rollo will never be able to escape “the eyes of Notre Dame”/the Bell of Salvation. Every person’s wide-eyed, innocent stare or respectful reverence cast upon Rollo will make him recognize he’s living a lie, and it will only intensify his guilt… and guilt, as we’ve already seen with how Rollo coped with the loss of his brother, can eat a man from the inside out.

“What [he] wants to save is not his brother or the world... but himself,” Idia states atop the bell tower--and by refusing this “salvation” to Rollo, who believed so desperately that he is not the villain of this story, he will never be liberated. And if he doesn’t believe with all his heart that everyone else are the villains and he is the hero, “he wouldn’t be able to live with himself”, as Azul puts it. It’s eternal damnation for Rollo—at the hands of his own inner demons.

Later on in the event, we get little hints that maybe Rollo is starting to accept some responsibility for the chaos he has caused (albeit in very small ways), or at least he's conflicted about it. For example, he insists on preparing the venue for the masquerade all by himself, which the NRC boys debate if he's doing to atone or to save face and avoid asking the mages he despises for assistance. No matter the reasoning, the task must be difficult to complete by one person, especially considering Rollo's injuries. Would he allow himself to use magic for such a task?? If he doesn't permit himself this luxury, then it makes the preparations even harder--and yet he somehow still managed to pull it off. This subtly says a lot about how hard he works, but also speaks to his pride and stubbornness.

Rollo gives a speech to those in attendance at the masquerade to address the strange happenings of the night. This is something which Sebek calls out as audacious, as Rollo was the cause of those events to begin with. To this, Azul commends Rollo for his mental fortitude, pointing out that even though Rollo must be extremely conflicted inside, he is hiding the truth of the matter to the public very well. I imagine that these conflicted feelings only ramp up when the NRC boys, whom Rollo has perceived as villains the entirety of the event, present him with a gift that he calls wonderful: performing the Gentle Bell Ringer's song, and singing of hope for the future, something relatable and encouraging in the aftermath of a great disaster. He tries to insult it, calls it a waste of time--but in the end, he goes quiet, moved by the song in spite of himself.

It all culminates in Malleus--the embodiment of magic that Rollo despises--asking to share a dance with him, the one that sought his destruction. During their dance, Rollo swears that he has not given up yet, and that he will never see eye-to-eye with mages. He's still deeply ingrained in his own mindset--but as we've seen with how he reacted to the song and how the NRC boys disagree with how Rollo must be feeling in the moment, the seeds of conflict have been strewn in him. It will take some time before they take root and blossom, but the fact is that his punishment (and, subsequently, his change) has only just scarcely begun.

So ends the Glorious Masquerade, with Rollo sentenced to a fitting end. ***Note: One part of Rollo's punishment that isn't mentioned in a lot of discussions is that Trein has stated he will be in contact with the school board and keeping a close eye on Rollo; this detail is only supplemental to everything else, much like how the dorm members of the OB boys try to offer better social support after the OB incidents, but I thought I should also bring this up.***

Our World au - twst boys get jobs in our world (part 2)

Part one

They’ve been stranded for a month now, and expenses are getting a bit tight. Off to work you go, you funky little wizards!

Characters: Kalim, Jamil, Vil, Rook, Idia, Malleus, Lilia

Kalim:

* Kalims skills include: being cute, being thoughtful, and being friendly

* He may not have a lot of skills, but he’s trying his hardest and that’s what matters

* He ends up getting hired at Trader Joe’s

* He’s very excited at every task there is

* Which, there are quite a few

* Like Floyd, he needs constant stimulation and changing tasks

* Unlike Floyd, though, he’s set water on fire before so working in food service is a no

* That’s why this is such a good fit!

* He just has to stock stuff, ring people up, and be friendly

* He can do all that!

* He gets a reasonable pay for a part time job, and a discount on the food

* He spends so much time snacking at work though

* On the plus side, he can expertly tell anyone what they can pair almost anything with

* It’s broadened his horizons! And he will happily share everything with everyone at home

* He is still bad with money though so whenever someone asks for Taco Bell money he hands them like $50

Jamil:

* Jamil has a lot of work experience, and ends up doing miscellaneous tasks

* Lawncare, babysitting, dog walking, cleaning. He does it all

* Eventually, though, Kalim says he should see if he can teach dance classes or something

* Floyd overhears

* Floyd grins wickedly

* This leads to Jamil getting dragged to the gym Floyd works at and dumped into his boss’s office

* “I found someone who can teach dancing! Sea snake’s real good at it too! C’mon, show him”

* Jamil doesn’t exactly wanna piss off floyd or get him fired, and begrudgingly busts a move

* He is hired on the spot with a resigned sigh and a whole bunch of paperwork

* He surprisingly loves it though

* He’s always loved dancing, and now he gets to get paid for it? And he can keep a constant schedule?

* He gets paid pretty well, and some life seems to shine through him when he’s at home. He genuinely looks happy for once in a long while

* Kalim brings him snacks when he can

* And Floyd attends Jamil’s class every once in a while, so Jamil gets to watch in amusement as a fish out of water flops around

Vil:

* Here he is, in a shopping mall, working a minimum wage job at sephora.

* And here’s the thing. He’s like, really good at it

* Like, really really good at it

* His passion for making people look their best and his in depth knowledge of makeup means this is a perfect fit for him

* If it weren’t for the fact that during the week, this is so completely, utterly, annoyingly boring.

* Not to mention, he isn’t even earning enough to buy half the shit he sells

* How is he supposed to make sure every product is up to snuff?

* Regardless, whenever he works, every customer walks away with an insane amount of products and a shine in their eyes

* I mean, except the ones who find him insulting and walk away

* He’s bored, though. There’s no films, homework, music, nothing to study.

* So he starts teaching vocal lessons around the neighborhood.

* Vocal lessons turn into a part time job at the music store

* Now he has two jobs, twice the pay, and he doesn’t have to be around the 15 people at your place.

* He spends his money on shit specifically for work. Nicer outfits, soaps, makeup, instruments, etc.

* Workin boy get that dough.

Rook

* Here’s a fun fact, hunting skills don’t just go away when magic is removed

* Here’s another fun fact, newspapers still exist!

* It takes a while for rook to find a job that really fits with him

* See, he can be helpful. Sometimes he can even act normal

* But he’s a hunter, and isn’t gonna stop just because of some silly reason like he’s in a different world and stalking is illegal

* No, of course not!

* But he has a way with words, doesn’t he? And he’s got all the skills to sniff out a good story

* So after several doesn’t failed attempts at a job (including fast food, office work, private training, etc.) he eventually becomes a reporter for the local newspaper!

* Sure, nobody buys newspapers anymore, but online journalism is strong and well!

* And depending on where you live, buzzfeed might be nearby

* He makes little to no money but at least you don’t have the French in your house 24/7

* Also rook starts smoking oui’d once he makes some money and suddenly he’s a lot less terrifying when he’s digging through your cabinets for Doritos.

Idia

* The chances of Idia getting a job seem slim to none

* I mean, he doesn’t want to leave his room at home, why would he here?

* And without his brother?

* Surprisingly, Idia is a lot more social here than in twisted wonderland

* He’s feeling a lot better, and he doesn’t have anywhere to hide. Nobody knows who he is, he doesn’t have flaming hair anymore, and-

* And there’s so much anime to watch, and so many new games to play!

* But he knows that he needs money. He doesn’t have any funds here

* After some encouragement from his new roommates, he goes for a walk around town, and guess what he finds

* A nerd store

* Depending on where you live, maybe it’s a comic shop, or a board game store, or a GameStop, but whatever it is, you’re never removing him from it.

* You swear that his eyes have sparkles in them when he comes back from his walk and announces he got a job

* Yes, like that. Literally spent Three hours in the store and he’s on the payroll.

* I don’t think anyones seen him happier.

* And as for his brother,

* Well, when Idia saves up enough money, he buys himself a laptop

* He ends up making a copy of Ortho, although he’s a little more stilted than the robot we know and love, and downloads him on his phone, so he can take him everywhere and show him everything

* He says once they’re back to their world, he’ll upload everything to Ortho’s database, so he can experience everything too

Malleus

* What’s a 200+ year old fae Prince to do in a new world

* He’s not great with technology, he has no fortune to rely on, and his skills are…questionable, at best

* But there’s a little secret almost every town has

* Your town - yes, you, reader- your town has a historical museum

* Most of the time we never think about these places. They’re old and usually smell a little and we go there once as a field trip or something and never again, right?

* Not malleus!

* No, no, he finds your local museum and immediately is enthralled

* There’s so much history about your town! Why did you never tell him about this?

* The first time he goes inside he spends hours pouring over all the information, soaking it up like a sponge

* He goes so far as to start asking questions from the curator, to which they reply “You might as well work here,” in a joking tone

* But malleus doesn’t take it as a joke

* No, he starts working here unofficially at first, taking people through a tour of the museum and sprinkling in some history that isn’t even available in the museum

* And eventually the curator(s) just add him to the payroll

* Why?

* There’s a sudden influx of people attending the museum, mostly teenagers, mostly girls, who are all coming to see this one of a king gothic beauty talk about the architecture of the ceiling of this particular room.

* And the museum is making BANK

* so malleus accidentally gets a job. He shows up to work even when he’s not scheduled because he loves it so much.

Lilia

* So we all agree Lillia shouldn’t cook, right?

* Lillia doesn’t agree

* Luckily he works at a cafe so there’s not a lot of food

* He…he can be trusted to make some coffee, right?

* Well….kinda.

* He’s trusted to make iced coffees

* At Dunkin’ Donuts

* He’s mostly doing cleaning

* After a few weeks of this he finally takes a cooking class nearby

* Holy shit does it change his life when they start explaining healthy meals

* See, back in twisted wonderland, he wouldn’t have listened

* He has magic

* And is old

* But here?

* He has no choice because they won’t let him make hash browns or anything

* He set the oil on fire

* Anyway, after that his cooking improves slightly and they allow him to make orders

* Someone has to threaten to fire him to get him to stop adding weird shit though.

Reader asking for a hug after a bad day - Vil, Silver, Idia

Vil

Vil had already noticed that you had been struggling lately. Every little task seemed to be too much and everything seemed to make you tired.

Besides offering to help, there was very little he could do to make it better, he didn’t want to overwhelm you or make you feel as if he thinks you can’t handle yourself. But he is worried a little.

So when the dam finally breaks, it’s after a really rough day: literally nothing seems to go the way you want it to go, and everything, even the smallest tasks is simply too much for you to handle. So you struggle through the day, doing only the bare minimum to get through, and immediately go look for Vil.

He’s not hard to find, you know his schedule by heart. He is in his room, in the middle of his workout routine, and you feel a little bad for interupting.

He doesn’t even look surprised when you enter, instead finishing his move and putting the dumbbells away. He looks at you with furrowed brows, nothing but concern is his eyes.

“What can I do for you, my love?” He’s asked it numerous times before the last few days, but this is the very first time you actually have an answer ready.

“A hug, please.” You sound more pleading than you would want to.

“Of course.” He has barely opened his arms when you’re already holding him tight, squeezing as if you’re afraid that he might leave or tell you to stop, but he doesn’t, instead wrapping his arms around you as well and kissing the top of your head.

“It’s all.. just a little too much,” you say, inhaling the sweet scent of his perfume, feeling yourself relax, not ready to let go just yet.

“You can give everything you have every single day, dear, but you have to realize that giving everything today, does not mean the same everything tomorrow. Sometimes you have to be kind to yourself, and accept that the bare minimum is all you can do”

You were surprised for a second. Vil always seemed like he had everything together, that everything was perfect, and he certainly seemed to be giving 120% every single day. And yet, here he was telling you to not do that, that it was an impossible standard to keep up.

“I love you so much. You don’t have to prove yourself to anyone. Sometimes, you just have to pause and take everything in.”

You nodded, still holding on. You’d take a little pause.

Silver

Silver usually was quite in tune with you and your moods, being observant was a good trait for a knight in training after all. So he does notice you’re a little down quite fast. He offers conversation and distraction, as well as comfort, but it’s limited in how much and how often. He has so many other things to do to keep up with school, keep up with Sebek as Malleus’ bodyguards, as well as catching up on sleep, the one thing he will never truly be able to catch up on.

It’s not that you have to beg for affection, quite the opposite, but Silver does sometimes need some gentle steering, and you vocalizing what you need. Usually, you just need him to take a break with you.

And that’s why you were looking for him. You were fairly certain you knew where to find him, walking through the gardens looking for one of his usual napping spots.

When you spotted him, you felt your stress ebb away a little already. It was a sight that never failed to take your breath away: Silver was laying on his back, arms crossed over his torso, surrounded by birds, squirrels, a hedgehog and some other small critters, that quickly scurried away when you approached. His silver hair was looking silky smooth still, despite being ruffled by the wildlife and some tossing and turning.

The only indication that he might have noticed you coming his way, was in the form of a slight irregularity in his breathing, as well as a moment where his face changed expression, before going back to the peaceful look he had before.

You couldn’t bring yourself to wake him, instead joining him on the soft grass, curling up by his side, seeking the physical affection you were craving without actually disturbing his rest. He instinctively moved closer to you, even though he was still fast asleep.

You never fell asleep yourself, but you were resting your eyes for a bit when Silver finally woke up a little while later.

“Y/n? How long have you been here?” His voice was drowsy and a little deeper than usual still, immediately making you feel a little better, but not enough just yet.

“Not long enough”

He could tell from your tone and the way you held onto him even closer now that you knew he was awake, that it was not a good day for you.

“You wanna stay like this for a bit?”

You shifted your position slightly, wrapping an arm around him and resting your head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat pick up, and then become more slow and steady again. He wrapped his arms around you in turn, even though you had not replied yet, he didn’t need to hear your answer to know what to do.

Idia

Idia is a pretty observant person, the trouble lies in the fact that he doesn’t go out to do much of the observing. So when you are struggling, it takes a little while for him to notice, since you do still go out to class, have lunch with your friends… all kinds of things that he prefers to exclude himself from.

But he does notice, seeing you a little less chipper when you greet him after a long day of classes. He notices how you seem a little deflated, how you seem to be a little less involved in everything, including quality time with him.

PDA, or even non-public displays of affection, are something Idia struggles a lot with, especially at the beginning of any relationship. He does get better, but he never truly becomes an initiator. A hug is not his first instinct whenever you look like you’re down, instead, he will try to distract you, and try to make you smile, because it does hurt him to see you down.

You will have to ask him explicitly for a hug, entering his room, and instead of taking your usual place next to him to either game with him or watch him game, you’ll just have to stand around for a bit, waiting for him to pause what he’s doing and look up at you.

“Idia, I feel really shitty today, can you maybe get up and give me a hug?”

Just the very tips of his hair turn pink -it’s gotten a lot better over the time that you’ve been together- but he cannot help to still get a little flustered by your request, slowly nodding, putting the controller down, and going over to you for a hug.

He is not the best hugger, he definitely could use some more practice, but that is something you are already working on. What you need right now is for him to just hold you while you squeeze him tightly -not so tight it hurts, but still- and stand with you for a while. He does just that, and you feel yourself relaxing a little bit.

He then comes with an interesting proposition, one you simply cannot refuse. If you maybe would like to sit in front of him while gaming? You can lean against him a little, and with his head on top of yours or on your shoulder, and his arms around you to hold the controller, it will be mostly like a hug, no?

You smile for the first time that day, nodding while slowly letting go. That seems like an ideal plan.

The Seven Deadly Sins

This post will contain spoilers for all of Twisted Wonderland, including the main books, events, and cards may be referenced. This is your only warning.

For those who are unacquainted with the concept of the seven deadly sins, let me explain briefly.

The seven deadly sins are basically sins that you should never commit/act upon. Acting upon them can "inspire further sin". These sins include pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth. There were two sins that were removed from this list, vainglory and acedia.

Pride is basically like having a big ego and being full of yourself.

"consciousness of one's own dignity"

Vainglory is just being prideful and bragging

inordinate pride in oneself or one's achievements; excessive vanity.

They're pretty much the same thing, so they got lumped in together.

"intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth, power, or food"

Lust:

"very strong sexual desire"

Envy is just being jealous, to put it simply

"a feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by someone else's possessions, qualities, or luck."

Gluttony is being a fatass eating a lot of food(me)

"habitual greed or excess in eating."

Wrath is extreme anger

"an intense emotional state involving a strong uncomfortable and non-cooperative response to a perceived provocation, hurt or threat."

Sloth:

"reluctance to work or make an effort; laziness."

The 8th sin, acedia, is:

"spiritual or mental sloth; apathy."

I did a bit of extra reading on this one, and it pretty much sounds like depression.

"a state of listlessness or torpor, of not caring or not being concerned with one's position or condition in the world. In ancient Greece akidía literally meant an inert state without pain or care...In modern times it has been taken up by literary figures and connected to depression."

If you take a moment to think about it, you can see how these sins can connect to certain characters.

Riddle is wrath, this one is obvious. Riddle has a reputation for being easily angered, so him representing the sin of wrath makes the most sense.

Leona is sloth. He's lazy. It's obvious he does care about things, but he doesn't care enough to make an effort. He also displays the sin of pride, though I feel like sloth is a better choice because his laziness is more apparent as opposed to his pride.

Azul is greed. C'mon, he's completely capitalist. He's greedy in two ways. One, his money. That's one of the most important things to him, hence why he buys ingredients "for the low low price of free", according to Jade. Two, his power. It's clear that he values his power above all else, which is why he goes completely insane once Leona destroys his golden contracts.

Jamil is envy. He's envious of Kalim, not because of his status, but more so his lifestyle. Kalim will get praised and thanked for doing the bare minimum, whereas Jamil could plan a whole banquet and not get a single thanks. No praise or gratitude for anything he does, because it all goes to Kalim. I was going to put lust, because of Jafar, but I'm going to try and keep my reasoning strictly canon to Twisted Wonderland.

Vil is pride. Vil is very prideful when it comes to himself, and Rook and Vil's other fans aren't helping. Vil has high self-esteem, which is good. However, assuming you watched chapter 5, you would've seen what happened when someone hurts his pride. He goes "evil berserker mode". When his pride gets hurt, bad things happen. If you look at the song lyrics of "Absolutely Beautiful"(a banger btw), this point becomes much more clear as well. He puts himself above others, and views himself as more important.

Idia is acedia. It's really obvious Idia has depression. Given his backstory and the way he acts, it would be weird if he didn't. Just like Leona, you can tell he cares, but he just can't bring himself to care, physically or mentally. He stays in his room, refuses to socialize, and if he has to attend class, he just goes via tablet. This is clearly depression, and remember, depression is pretty much acedia.

Malleus is lust. Ok, hear me out. It could happen. I know I put the definition up top, but technically it's possible to lust for someone or something non-sexually.

"In fact, sometimes lust has nothing to do with sexual desire. It can be “intense enthusiasm; zest,” which is closer to its earlier meanings of “pleasure,” “delight” and “inclination.”"

So it would be possible for Malleus to be lusting for Yuu, in a friendship way. Or perhaps Aniplex will cater to the simps and make it sexual, though I doubt it.

Grim is gluttony. I feel the prologue monster was either overblot Grim, or foreshadowing to overblot Grim. Either way, Grim is a glutton, he LOVES food. If he can eat it, he will. Blot stones, grass, etc.

Trey Clover

The most calm one in Heartslabyul dorm, even with all the stress and chaos he can maintain his mind clear. Even knows how to make Riddle relax when he is ready to punish everyone. This third year knows what he is doing after all this time, still this doesn't mean he is completely innocent, anyone in that dorm can create problems.

His cooking it's wonderful, you can see it by the way the dorm leader gets excited seeing his strawberry tart. The cookies, cake and every type of sweet made by Trey look perfect. The taste? It's up to you to find out if its fame is right about him. Remember, the oyster sauce isn't present in his pastry, he just enjoys seeing people fall for it.

Pay attention to his actions, if he helps without you requesting his hand it means he wants something back for it, Trey never minds other's people business and you better give something back. The third-year never exits his comfort zone to risk either school or situations between students, there is no reason to do such a thing. This is why he does minimum things speaking of homeworks, still it doesn't mean he is an idiot. Trey wants to stay in peace without anyone bothering him so it's natural that he acts like this.

The vice leader is very mature and cautious, yet for the dorm and the way he approaches people. Trey is strange too since he wants to see your teeth, controlling how they are going and your dental hygiene. Expect the fact that he is busy with his dorm it's very easy to talk to him, he won't put down a conversation if the student it's interesting and funny.

Ruggie Bucchi

The problem isn't that he is hard to talk to or find, his mindset makes him have trust issues. Most of the time he searches people to help and get something of value in return, especially money or food. Are you talking to him for the same reason? It's right that he can have a deal with anyone but the compensation has to be catching.

So you should first give him or gift something without wanting something in return, maybe asking for a date? You have many options but don't let him think that you are doing this for your own good, or it will end terribly wrong. Gifting him everyday a new snack made by you or some meals is the best option, Ruggie loves food and he will gladly accept it especially if it's free.

His laugh is both funny and annoying, either making fun of you or for some other reason. This hyena has more time than the others since Leona sleeps most of the time and this leads to having less things to clean, but when the dorm leader goes around the chaos is sure. Savanaclaw doesn't have a vice leader and Ruggie helps Leona to follow the orders, the lion gets grumpy when someone doesn't follow his words. The hyena learned to cook, clean and much more for the dorm and even for base knowledge it gives, well he may not be a good chef like Jade or Trey, still he isn't bad at it!

You can find him either with Leona or Jack, when with the dorm leader it means he is "working" while with the wolf it's a simple walk to look around or they are following some orders. Once you know him he is funny and enjoyable, a lot of teasing and jokes/pranks so be aware that everything can happen when he is near.

Jade Leech

You met him while Floyd was arguing with Ace, he came and tried to calm his brother with a great result. Well he did it because he needed him but that's not the point, you were caught by his charming yet creepy presence. Then you found out of his obsession with mushrooms by accident, he was looking at them completely lost, why is everyone so strange in this school?

Not only his aura is creepy, the way he talks and tease are the same, easy to recognize that floyd has a lot in common with him. Very similar even with their personality and not only appearances, but this leech is more subtle than the other one still either of them are predictable.

Jade is going to make you know Azul too, since he works at the monstro lounge and the octopus makes deals, why not? The twins will probably try to push you into the trap, without falling their achievement. Don't mind if you find him following you or listening to your conversation, the leech is just "curious" or you "are in his way" so don't mind it too much.

Talking with him means getting to talk with Floyd too since they are most of the time together, you will noticed the little differences that make both of them incredibly scaring and interesting. Come on, he can and maybe bite you but he is so stunning and good with talking!

Jamil Viper

You caught him cooking for Kalim and got immediately curious of the man in front of you, such a delicious smell was coming from the pot. You could recognize it was something spicy and meaty so you got closer, already heard about the dorm leader of Scarabia and his inseparable friend. The exactly person that was in the same room, all the descriptions were accurate.

Jamil gasped when he noticed you, what were you trying to do? He got defensive seeing how you tried to analyze him and his meal, it wasn't anything bad only a little "prank" for his dorm leader. Why was your nose in someone's else business? The man got mad but didn't let it show, he had to play his cards so he just smiled innocently.

What were you going to do? Asking for explanations or about the sauce? If you didn't fall for his trick then there was only one option, words don't work? Then Jamil could beat you up but fortunately nothing like that happened. Knowing him better you found out how great he was at dancing and cooking, of course Kalim wouldn't have chosen a simply guy to protect him!

Kalim was the reason of why Jamil was always busy with the dorm or "baby-sitting" him, the leader is an easy target and he knows it too well. He still finds time to stay alone or relax a little, you better visit him when he is free or he won't be avaible at all. Well you can wait for him with Kalim, such a sunshine yet so chaotic, being patient is the only thing you can do in that case.

Rook Hunt

This man is terrifying if reading Jade's moves was hard, with Rook is impossible. What does he want to do? His face always has a smirk and rarely gets mad or sad, it makes you shiver. Even the way he is so obsessed with beauty, well coming from that dorm it is kinda obvious but him and Vil are too much.

Rook likes to take photos and he has many about the nature, animals, students, you, Epel and Vil. Creepy, he is always looking at you with a smirk, you never get what he wants from you. It's like he is hunting you, Rook the hunter and you the prey, while you walk in the woods relaxing, him in the bush analyzing every little movement you make. The blonde knows a lot about you and the others, you will even have a strange French nickname given on the spot, he does his best to make it sound elegant and at the same time bizarre.

You are handsome or attractive? You won his attention, too much but now you can't escape from his grasp. No need to present yourself since he already knows everything, while he is so mysterious and impossible to read, the others are like an open book for Rook. Even his affection is unusual, his hugs are stiff but pleasurable the same thing his caresses.

Being friend with Rook means knowing Vil and Epel too, the dorm leader is extremely severe with skin routine and taking care of the beauty. The first year is handsome but will get mad if you tell him he is cute or adorable, he wants to look mainly. Rook will just stand there as those two make you understand in what you got yourself, too late now..

Lilia Vanrouge

Even more mysterious than Rook, you know and it is known almost nothing about him. It is said that he is older than Malleus and that even raised him, then why was he in school? Too many questions that couldn't be answered, so frustrating, asking Lilia wouldn't work either. Why should he admit it? Some times it's better not to know than knowing too much, and you better not step this line with Lilia.

Since the first time you met him he always made little pranks, he was hanging on the ceiling upside-down with a smirk. You were shocked seeing such a thing, how could he do that? Plus he was the only student that did things like this, hanging like bats in a cave.

Lilia is most of the time honest so he is wise and even shows some experience, a lot, how old is he? It's unknown, too many things to discover about this man. His advices are good, well since he stays so much time with Malleus it's obvious that he dragon Fae only chooses stunning people. Still he can be strict and his words become sharper than a knife.

Pranks come along with a lot of teasing, he may look adorable and young but deep down is chaotic like the others, impressive how much these students hide. Don't ever eat his cooking if you don't wish to be poisoned by how bad that food is, a stomachache is the minimum thing you are going to get. Not only it is dangerous, the taste and smell are incredibly horrible, the funny thing is that Lilia likes the taste of rotten potions so I'll let you imagine what his the meals tastes like.

✨Book 6 chapters 66-67 tips✨

I keep seeing people worried about this portion of the episode with book 6 coming soon. So, this is how I did it with the bare minimum of effort. Of course, there are better methods out there than my own. But, I went in blindly not knowing what was to come. I realized I had a problem, so what was I to do? Grind. A lot. Every two and a half hours, three rounds of lessons, every day.

Spoilers below the cut!

These are my three teams for chapter 66. I really should have put more thought into the characters I picked. When I realized my mistake, I decided this would be the hill I would die on. Boy, did I suffer. That said, I realized a few things as I was grinding, and then running off to lose against the Titans.

For chapter 66, your cards should at least be around lv 40. As you can see, I didn’t give Azul or Floyd much love, and I definitely ditched Trey after this chapter. But, at the bare minimum, I had my cards in their 30s.

The Titan for tower 3 likes to inflict fire damage to your life during your standbys, so bring someone that can heal. Preferably on all your teams, but definitely on the Riddle/Azul team.

Duo magic✨ Obviously, having SSRs will be a life saver. But, you can also be like me with Leona and use an R card.😂 I tried having at least an SSR that I could duo magic with to deal extra blows.

Max buddy levels. Make sure your buddy levels are as high as they can be. I will say this, Alchemy lessons will be your life if you are unprepared. So, while you grind for those books and notepads, get your buddy levels up.

The most important tip: magic levels need to be at lv5!! Again, you want to deal those extra blows. The sooner, the better.

Groovy all your cards. Even the R cards if you use them. This needs no explanation. You want that extra ATK and HP boost.

Study the phantom titans attack patterns. I eventually caught on as to how each Titan attacked, and it helped tremendously at picking the right attack against them. If you make a mistake, that’s fine. Try to keep it at one. Messing up twice is a bit too much, but still doable. Three, you might want to restart the battle.

I was mostly saying this to amuse myself, but survive. Survive during this chapter, and you will make it through.💖

For chapter 67, I mostly kept the teams the same. As I mentioned before, I dropped Trey and brought Idia on my Azul/Riddle team hoping to make a difference. Ahahaha….no.🥲 The tips for chapter 67 are basically the same. In this round, however, your card levels should at least be between levels 50-55. Preferably in the 60s.

As you can see, I eventually leveled up Silver to 62. I pushed Vil at level 72 at the time because I kind of grew a little desperate.😆 However, Vil only became useful to me when I unlocked his water magic at level 5. This is why I say it’s important that you do this. Aside from these two, you can see who my main twst team is. They were already in their 60s.

I spent a lot of saved resources. Books, notepads, starshards, gems, honeys, waffles, cupcakes, etc. Overall, this took me about two months to beat. It was basically trial and error, but it is doable so long as you put in work. There’s plenty of time before this part of the story comes. So, think about the cards you’d like to use, and work on them.

Remember! You can change your mind about which characters you will use, but if you make any changes in the midst of going through the towers, you will have to start all over again from the beginning. So, pick your characters wisely!!

I hope these tips bring you a little peace of mind. But, you know, twst recently came out with those reset tickets to make things easier. I haven’t used any yet. Maybe because I already beat book 6, so I can’t use them right now. I don’t know if the EN team will implement this feature soon. If they do, you have that option, as well.

You bent forward, now on eye level with your brother, why, you asked him, will you get “angy”? And that’s when his blood pressure sky rocketed, the hand he had previously folded around his magic pen surged forward, glowing tip pointed at you. “OFF WITH YOUR HEAD.”

You couldn't help but chuckle at your older brothers demeanor, knowing that you wouldn't be able to reject his pleads. You left him on the floor before turning around, slightly bending your knees so that he'd reach easier. "Let's go!"

After messing around with your face a little more, he pointed at some clothes that laid on his bed so that you'd change into them. Everything fit nicely, but it was not a surprise, your brother knew exactly what clothes made you comfortable and looked the best, and the outfits he chose for you were always great. He clapped, a soft smile on his face. "Let me see, can you twirl for me?" Doing as told, his smile only widened. "Perfect! You look fantastic."

sometimes you two join forces to harass, joke with lillia, since he is much, much more shorter than any of you

he just...doesn't care at all about your height, if you're taller, you're taller, and if you were to be shorter, you'd just be shorter (that wouldn't be such a big change for him, after all almost everyone is shorter than him)

he prefers being older since that way you can enjoy life without having to worry about leading a whole ass country

"You believe this is going to work? Are you sure this isn't too... low?" You nodded, pulling at the tape glued to the door frame of the dorm kitchen. Malleus heard about a human prank, and went to you for help so that he'd be able to prank Lillia, and so you two were currently sticking tape to the door so that whenever Lillia came in, he'd get tangled. "Okay, now you say I have to call Lillia, right?" You nodded again, giving Malleus a thumbs up as he shouted for the older fae. You both watched the door intensely waiting for the moment Lillia came in. "You called?" You both jumped, spinning around to came face to face with a grinning Lillia... and the window wide open.

Thanks for tagging me! Er, dunno why this got weirdly long for an excerpt... anyway... a small excerpt from 'heir apparent' the next bit of 'long live the king' series...

There isn't a body to bury.

STYX takes Leona Kingscholar's body away. Idia Shroud knows that it doesn't matter. There isn't a body because no one will remember Leona was even ever at Night Raven College. There's so much work for STYX to do. Idia's father even comes to school — for work, he says, but the first thing he does is check on Idia and Ortho — and then goes to Sunset Savanna. It turns out easiest to say that Leona Kingscholar had died in childhood, Overblotted after he found his sick mother hidden away as the family secret. It's an odd lie, Idia thinks when he reads the report but it turns out that Leona's birth had been difficult on the queen and some part of her had never recovered. When Leona had died apparently Lethe's memory wiping hadn't worked on her so spinning the lie around her insistence her son had gone to Night Raven College was necessary. It leaves a bad taste in Idia's mouth. He thinks about Ortho and really the entire Shroud family, doomed to be forgotten and also to drag whoever had the bad luck to get involved with them or too stained with blot down to hell with them. But inevitably, as he always does, Idia settles into resignation.

They make Ruggie the Housewarden. Headmaster Crowley hems and haws about it clearly unsure what to do with a Housewarden who doesn't come with prestige, power or money. All the students though know that Ruggie is — was — Leona's right hand. Even if he wasn't technically Vice Housewarden Ruggie was the heart and Leona the brain. If asked Ruggie would have declined but there's no asking when it comes to Overblot cleanup. They simply make it happen. Replacing that many memories is difficult and it's obvious that Ruggie can tell something is missing. Idia is glad he attends Housewarden meetings via tablet because he wouldn't be able to hide his expression, not with the stumbles over things Ruggie should know — if he is truly Housewarden — or the blanks in memory that everyone seems to share.

"And, on the topic of academic eligibility. . ." Vil Schoenheit intones. There is the barely veiled something in his voice. Idia would call it judgey. Riddle called it leadership. Azul only ever commented on it if he wanted something from either the party under scrutiny or Vil himself. Scarabia had no horse in the race and Kalim couldn't read Vil's tone anyway.

"Hm? What about it?" Ruggie asks.

"Test scores are posted publicly." Vil points out.

"Yeah? An' so what? Savanaclaw's meeting what we need to." Ruggie is defensive and Idia can't see his expression but imagines Ruggie must look trapped. Leona had been able to field scrutiny with the swagger of any jock alpha male but Ruggie had never been the type.

"There are academic standards to uphold." Riddle breaks in. "While bare minimum is something students can achieve as Housewarden you should be — "

"Should be this? Should be that? Who're you all to say that? I never asked for this. This ain't my job. It's — " Ruggie snaps and then his words come to a halt.

"Ahhh. Right. Right. Let's all just remember every dorm has its strength, right? Here at Ignihyde we're technomantic specialists. Pomefiore's being super bijin and Savanaclaw is meatheads good at throwing rocks. All this arguing is cutting into my game time. Hurry it up." Idia mutters. it successfully derails everyone from whatever Ruggie was going to say. ("Meatheads? I'll show you meathead." "Bijin? Please, Idia use normal language that doesn't reduce my students to just looks." "I notice you said nothing of Octavinelle." "Let's all get along like Idia-senpai said!")

hi, i go by kaso (he/she). requesting for the twst and ror boys (with the exception of idia and leona)

im mostly on the neutral centerpoint when it comes to myself. im an introvert. im calm, mellow, down-to-earth. im also observant as i pick up small things n remember them when the time is right. also to js sniff out peoples intentions but its more of the first most of the time.

im a soft-spoken guy. usually im relaxed and unshaken, though my motivation seems to come on a whim ebery other day so i may seem out of it at times. its easy to keep my composure for most things and keep my emotions in check. i have tendencies to be passive-aggressive when provoked and im kinda stubborn. but im chill and friendly.

its easy for me to pick up from setbacks. im naturally intelligent but i dont really study to keep it.. its not like i dont want because im quite self-aware its just the lack of motivation. im also quite clever when the time comes.. cant explain it but its kinda easy to play the cards right when its laid out in my favour.

i may have an avoidant attachment of the sort im not sure.

when it comes to humour, im genuinely such a corny person and its always a hit or miss for my jokes. its also tinged with satire and sarcasm most if not all the time. i love to laugh and will find anything funny that might come out of your mouth.

i enjoy indulging in my interests, listsning to music, drawing and other things. i dont really have set things i enjoy, i just do whatever makes me happy tbh. i love having fun but it drains me. id try everything once if i could to make more of the moment.

i think my greatest fear is being unable to uphold to what ive created and not achieving my dreams.. im not so sure if it truly bothers me though. i experience small emotional highs and lows so maybe thats why.

i cant tolerate critical people who need to call you out for every flaw or people that cant keep their mouth shut. not chatty or talkative people im talking abt those who gossip. trust is a really big thing for me and its honestly a huge turn off.

i love with actions rather than words. i try and take my time with someone and treat them with the best care i can muster. im very passionate abt the things and people i love and i feel and care deeply even if i show it terribly. its in the little things. my love languages are quality time and parallel play.

im not sure if i have a type if im being honest.. never really thought hard on enough.. is not being an ass to other count?? like idk bare minimum wins i suppose.

Calm, laid back and observant, silver is open minded when it doesn't come to the protection of Malleus and likes his quiet. Though he doesn't mind company either. He's likely and prone to falling asleep though which does make him miss things here and there, so your observant mind comes in handy.

While he may or may not be able to draw himself he finds listening to music with you while you draw is a nice atmosphere to be around as well as being with another human, not that he doesn't like fae of course. Silver oftentimes does go in and out of sleeping, though he tries his best to stay awake when the time calls for it.

Shown to be a good cook under supervision he enjoys bringing you some home cooked food he'd made, and thankfully didn't let Lilia touch. His favorite thing about you is your soft spoken nature and calm personality, even if you do have your times of sarcasm and stubbornness. Silver is a person that respects your opinions and isn't one I can see gossiping and spreading rumors either.

I can see him being more introverted than extroverted and understand your need to have your social battery recharge at times. Silver is a hardworking individual especially when it comes to being a Knight, though he enjoys being able to rely on you even if it's something small and hopes you can do the same by confiding in him. Silver finds your cleverness interesting as well as your natural intelligence.

His favorite thing to do with you is spend quality time with you. As friends or something more he doesn't mind as long as you're by his side.
