"What the fuck is that?"

Jey grins at Cody, who lets the top half of his newspaper flop down. He's wearing the glasses and has a cigar between his lips.

He makes it too easy.

"You like?" Jey asks. He spins slowly, sure to make it so Cody's eyes can linger on his ass. "Got it at Hot Topic."

"We have about a thousand of those in the guest room." Cody flips the newspaper back up.

"I wanted to pay for one," Jey says. "You really don't like it? You suck. I'm trying to be all cute and shit and you're acting like a bored dad from 1955."

Cody folds the newspaper and sets it down. "You don't need to try to be cute," Cody says. He pulls the cigar out and blows the smoke through his lips, eyes locked on Jey's. It sends a shiver down Jey's spine, and he's not sure why. "You want my attention?"

"Always," Jey scoffs, but it comes out just a little more desperate than he wanted. "I thought you'd like it. You know, back in the day." He raises an eyebrow. "You and your boys were all about the hot topic tees."

Cody watches him, eyes unmoving as he stubs out his cigar. Jey can't read his expression. "This a jealousy thing?" Cody leans forward and grabs a fistful of the shirt, yanking Jey into his space. "You worried I'm gonna bail again?"

"No," Jey says, but it's too automatic to be convincing.

Cody's hands settle on his hips, and Jey goes easily when Cody pulls him into his laps. "Baby," Cody says, as casually as he would say Jey's government name, "no matter where I go, as long as you want me, I'm there."

And what else is there for Jey to do than lean and taste the promise and the hint of cigar?
