one of the most underrated dynamics in black sails is flint & madi. like. you would expect that a character like madi would create a rift in the flint / silver dynamic because she would side with her boyfriend, and be the infamous "woman who gets in the way of the gay ship" character, who would change silver's opinion into opposing flint. but. her and flint have an entire ideology in common and silver opposes them and THAT'S what making the rift between flint and silver deeper. they're just both angry and driven by revenge and deeply respect each other and silver thinks their ideology will be the death of madi and resents flint for it. it's truly insane
