The Benefits of Massage Therapy for Addiction Recovery
Tumblr media
Emotional dissociation and isolation are commonly experienced by individuals in recovery from addiction. This sense of distress or sadness can be challenging to pinpoint until addressed in therapy with a professional. Addiction is a chronic and serious disease that profoundly impacts various aspects of a person's life, including their health, family, career, financial stability, and peace of mind. Fortunately, there are several medically-led and holistic approaches to treatment utilized in rehabilitation facilities that can support individuals in their recovery journey. This article explores the advantages of massage therapy specifically for substance abuse, highlighting how it can contribute to long-term abstinence from drugs and alcohol.
Understanding Massage Therapy and its Benefits
Massage therapy involves the manipulation of the body's soft tissues, such as muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments, and skin, by a trained and certified medical professional known as a massage therapist. Through the application of varying degrees of pressure and movement, massage therapy promotes healing and relaxation.
Massage therapy is increasingly recognized as an integral part of holistic treatment, with many medical centers offering it alongside conventional modalities. It is employed to address a wide range of issues, including pain and anxiety in individuals with chronic illnesses like cancer, as well as to alleviate the psychological effects of stress.
Massage therapy can also provide benefits for individuals with conditions such as stress-related tension, cancer-related fatigue, sleep disorders, high blood pressure, diabetes, low back pain, mental illness, and substance use disorders, among others.
Exploring Different Types of Massage Therapy
There are seven main types of massage therapy, each with its own specific techniques and purposes:
Deep tissue massage: This type of massage targets specific problem areas in the body, such as muscle knots. Using slow, firm, and intense strokes or friction, deep tissue massage aims to effectively work out tension and tightness.
Lymphatic drainage massage: This technique focuses on stimulating the body's lymphatic system to eliminate toxins and enhance immune function, assisting in the removal of waste and boosting overall well-being.
Reflexology: By applying pressure to specific points on the feet and hands, reflexology aims to restore natural energy levels in the body, promoting balance and healing.
Shiatsu massage: Originating from Japan, Shiatsu massage involves applying pressure to specific points on the body to relieve pain, relax muscles, improve blood circulation, sleep, posture, and alleviate back pain.
Sports massage: Primarily targeted towards athletes, sports massage aids in recovering from sports-related injuries, correcting imbalances, and reducing muscle pain resulting from repetitive movements.
Swedish massage: Known for its long, gentle strokes and rhythmic tapping, Swedish massage combines soft kneading and lighter pressure to release tension. It is commonly used for relaxation purposes.
Thai massage: With roots dating back thousands of years, Thai massage incorporates deep stretching and manipulation of the body. It improves blood flow, flexibility, and energy levels.
The Role of Massage Therapy in Addiction Recovery
Through various bodywork techniques tailored to the individual's needs, massage therapy addresses both the physical and psychological symptoms that can hinder the recovery process.
During a massage session, the therapist applies pressure and manipulates the patient's muscles and trigger points, utilizing techniques such as Swedish massage or reflexology. This stimulation of the muscles and skin, the body's largest sensory organ, sends signals to the central nervous system, triggering the release of chemicals like dopamine, which generate feelings of pleasure and reward. Research indicates that this mind-body connection facilitated by massage therapy can promote self-awareness and help prevent relapse.
Moreover, many individuals entering rehab experience physical and emotional stress. The transition to a rehab environment, coupled with the cessation of drug and alcohol use after prolonged dependence, can induce anxiety. In conjunction with other forms of treatment, such as luxury detox programs and medically-assisted therapies, massage therapy offers a range of benefits for addiction recovery. These benefits include pain and muscle tension relief, decreased blood pressure and stress hormone levels, improved sleep and immune function, enhanced circulation, relaxation, and a holistic approach to recovery.
Conclusion
Massage therapy plays a valuable role in addiction recovery by addressing emotional dissociation and promoting healing on both physical and psychological levels. With its wide range of techniques and benefits, massage therapy serves as a valuable supplement to traditional addiction treatment approaches. By incorporating massage therapy into comprehensive treatment plans, individuals can experience increased comfort, reduced stress, improved well-being, and enhanced prospects for long-term abstinence from drugs and alcohol.

Dealing with COVID-Related Bar Exam Delays
I recently received a comment on a Facebook post referencing my article discussing how the Covid 19 epidemic pandemic might affect the bar exam. The comment asked how to keep a positive mindset in light of the fact that bar exams are being delayed or postponed and the format of the exam itself is being altered.
I thought about it and put together my thoughts in this article. I hope it helps.
If you have ideas that work for you that are not mentioned in this article, please leave a comment. If you disagree with some or even all of the ideas listed below, please comment and offer your suggestions about what you think would be helpful.
Some of the things I say below might sound a little trite given the situations in which some of you now find yourselves. I certainly can’t tell you how to feel and I can’t know how you feel. But, I do know this: 2020 has been by far the strangest year I’ve ever lived through during my several decades on this earth. I’ve been through some more traumatic acute periods of time ranging from a few days to a few weeks in duration, but never something like 2020’s sustained chronic freakishness.
Before we get any further in this article, I want to remind you that I am not a medical doctor, not a psychologist, not a licensed counselor. What follows are all suggestions about things that I think would help. It is advice I would give to a friend or family member who asked me for ideas. If you find yourself in a dark place or are having frightening thoughts, please contact a physician or counselor as soon as you can.
Now, for my suggestions.
Gratitude
You’ve probably heard this one before. It even sounds trite to me, and might even seem a little ridiculous. But this really works.
If you can wake up each morning and think about one or two things from the day before for which you are grateful, it can make a big difference in your outlook on life. If you start the day with was a grateful thought, it will set a positive tone for your day. On the other hand, if the first thing you do is check your news feed and scowl at some politician’s behavior or some terrible events happening in the world, that can start your day with negativity through which you will filter all the events and feelings of the remainder of the day.
Many people keep gratitude journals. They write down one or two things in the morning for which they are grateful. You can purchase many different kinds of gratitude journals (Amazon link (aff.)) or just staple a few sheets of paper together and start writing.
Digital Detox
There are more and more studies showing that too much exposure to digital devices and social media trigger anxiety.  (In children; In young adults; In general.) If you are feeling anxious about the bar exam or anything else and it is starting to overwhelm you, take a break from your phone and the internet. In an ideal world, this would probably be at least one solid day per week. But, if that doesn’t seem like a viable option, try something like this:  stop looking at digital devices after dinner and don’t look at one again until the next day.
Most phones these days have settings that allow you to lock certain apps.  Why not create a setting where you can still send texts and make phone calls, but which locks all other apps for a few hours each day?
Get outside
There are many studies that show time in nature can help enhance your mood. If you’re fortunate enough to live close to hiking trails or a park, take advantage of it. But even if you don’t and you can’t get to such a location, maybe you have a small patch of grass near your residence or in your backyard. If possible, take your shoes off and walk around for a few minutes. Even if the seems kind of ridiculous, it might allow you to remember some happy memories of childhood running around the grass in the summer.
Focus on stability
What things have not changed since the COVID crisis? Are all your family and friends still healthy? Are your house plants still alive? Are you still an intelligent person with the desire to be an attorney?
When the world around us is changing and seemingly out of our control, it can be helpful to look at the things in our lives that have remained stable during the period of change. This can lead us contemplate the world in the future when other things we stable again.
Sleep
People underestimate the power of consistent, solid sleep. Law students and lawyers live in a subculture where sleep is viewed as weakness. But, people who are well-rested generally are able to see the world more clearly and have less anxiety and depression.
So, if you are sleeping less than seven or eight hours per night, try sleeping more for a week and see how you feel.
Allow yourself to be afraid
Don’t squash fear or try to cover it up with denial or foreign substances (e.g., alcohol, drugs, food, shopping, etc.). You are afraid. Admit this world is crazy right now. Admit that you’re not quite sure what’s going happen with the bar exam.
I read about how in Florida they postponed the bar exam just a few days before was scheduled to start! (Florida bar postponed.) It would be terrible to think that something like this could happen again, but if that’s the fear you have, allow yourself to feel it.
Writing your fears down may help. Unlike a  gratitude journal where you might want to go back and look through it in order to remind yourself of what you’re grateful for, the fear journal can be something in which you write down what you are afraid of and then tear out the page and throw it away. This, to me, is not a form of suppressing fear, but of acknowledging it.  You are saying, “I know you exist. I know I’m afraid of you. But, you can’t stop me.”
Remind yourself of earlier chaos
If you graduated from law school and are preparing for the bar exam, then you’re probably at least in your early 20s. Many of you will be a few or even many years older. For most people, if they’ve lived to your early 20s, you’ve experienced at least a handful of chaotic, uncertain situations.
But you got through them. You made it to law school and graduated. Remind yourself of the chaos you’ve survived.
The bar exam situation this year is chaotic. It is unknown. What if there is an uptick in COVID cases and it needs to be postponed again? What if there’s a technical issue that makes a planned online bar exam not work?
I realize it is easier said than done, but sometimes you just have to roll with the punches. Or, a metaphor I prefer, be like water and follow the available path.
Consider your study schedule
If you are someone who has been studying for the bar exam expecting it to be on a particular day and then it gets moved to a date several weeks or months away, you need to reassess how to spend those extras weeks. This will vary for each individual.
If you’re having financial concerns, try to find a way to make a little money for a few weeks. If you’ve been studying conscientiously expecting the bar exam to occur on DAY 0, but the bar exam has been pushed to DAY 150, you can probably stop studying for an extended period of time before restarting your studies closer to the new bar exam date. This will give your brain a break and help you focus on other issues.
Even if finances are not a problem for you, taking a break from studies, if that’s feasible, is probably a good thing. As someone who took two bar exams, I can tell you that studying for the second bar exam was much easier. While it wasn’t a cakewalk by any means, I had set aside over two months to study for the second exam, but in retrospect I probably could have done it in four weeks.
The reason I’m saying this is that if you’ve studied for two months and now you have another two month gap before the rescheduled exam, why not try something you’ve never done before to take your mind off the chaos? If you’ve thought about being an author, write a story or book. If you’ve thought about starting a business that can be started quickly, why not give it a go?
Conclusion
I hope this article helped you at least a little bit. I realize that the future of your legal career must seem unclear. Although I never had to go through a situation like this when I took the bar exam, I have gone through situations in my life where I thought the prospects for a positive outcome in the long-term were bleak. But, as the months and years passed, the outcome was actually pretty good.
So, although it may be difficult for you, try to stay positive. When you feel the negativity getting too much, use one of the techniques above.

Generation Z: A battle for tomorrow (Individual Assessment)
Upon reading the articles a lot of descriptions and characteristics have been used to be able to describe Generation Z. This generation is known for being different and unique from the past generations. Although they are still similar with the Millennials.
Generation Z is known for being goal oriented in a sense that they plan for what they want their future to be. They give importance to what is given to them, especially their education. It is something they hold onto that they use as their tools to be able to strive in the world to make it a better place.  According to Parker, Igielnik (2020), members of Generation Z are the best educated generation with less likely dropouts of high school and are 57% more likely to enroll in college.
Although this is not possible without having social interaction. Generation Z are young adults whose brains’ are more dependent on social interaction. At this time they strengthen the social ties that they make to be able to find their own place in society, (Kale, 2020).
In relation to being goal oriented Gen Z strives to make the world a better place. The members of this Gen Z freely express their resolve and vision of building a better future (Deloitte, 2020). Furthermore, it is known that this generation is very different from older generations especially because they are born into the modern world. Information is greatly accessible keeping them informed of what is happening around the world. Through the modernization of the world Gen Z looks at things at a wider spectrum.
They use this as an advantage to improve the world and to take action on societal issues. Social media platforms are used to be able to show their opposition to injustices and to fight for greater causes in favor of society. The generation is not late to help those in need at challenging times.
The aforementioned characteristics are definitely similar to what I see with my peers and in myself. Just like in the article of Deloitte, Gen Z has a resolve and vision to make the world a better place. Based on personal experience, this is evidently seen with the initiatives that several members of Gen Z have been working on and have successfully done. Their actions of caring for those in need in our society directly shows how much they care about everyone, especially those in need. Concrete action is seen in these initiatives through the use of advocacies or fund raising that aim to bring help amongst the needy at such trying times.
Although there are still some differences with the behaviors and circumstances that come to play. An example would be that not everyone has the courage or the thought to make some advocacies happen. Only those with leadership training and traits and connections are the ones who play an active role to set out these initiatives. While some do not really have the resolve and resources to do such acts. Their inability is not their fault but is definitely a point to improve on.
To assess one’s characteristics, behaviors and circumstances is important to know where he/she stands. In assessing the similarities and differences of characteristics and behaviors of yourself with others, you will be able to identify at which aspects you are good at and where you still need improvement. I myself am admittedly not good at setting out goals and helping others through such initiatives. Although as I went by in college I have gained the strength to go out and try to do some of the things that I lack for example would be leading. My lack of leadership made me assess myself all throughout my group works and it is definitely something that I need to improve on. Knowing so it helped me realize how I can improve on that aspect of weakness to be able to turn in into a strength slowly and gain the knowledge to do so. From there on I have set myself as a lifelong learner and never stopping at a roadblock but instead conquering every obstacle that comes my way.
Key Challenges facing Gen Z in today’s world
1. Unstable society
The world is now in a very fragile situation because of the coronavirus pandemic which has affected everyone on a global scale. Its effects reach into the very roots of how society works and upon how it was built in each country. The pandemic has attacked how social systems work in ways that people’s activities are disrupted which range from every work related to making the society function. The chain of how things are, is now broken which gravely affects the economy for without work, businesses and consumers the economy can collapse especially for countries which are underdeveloped.
2. Unforeseeable future
This stresses how the future for Generation Z is of a blur. Keeping in mind the aforementioned, the next generation to take over is put under compromise and that there is still the struggle trying to make it in their career path. For the reason that their future is unclear due to the current situation. Furthermore, those of Gen Z entering the workforce have limited opportunities, especially fresh graduates because of restrictions and lack of experience to be even considered for a job. In addition to this, society’s systems and functions are damaged that has hurt the economy and in which triggered a global recession, a period of global economic slowdown. There is still a lot of substantial amount of work and experience that Gen Z has to gain in order to fully take on the role of building the future generations but given the current situation it looks very unsettling with no assurance. The platforms that they will step onto going through the next phase in life will be unstable platforms. The future somewhat becomes a burden upon them on how the world is going to be fixed and how it's supposed to work and recover from the pandemic and the crisis it has brought.
3. Quality of education
Generation Z has been identified to be the generation born the year after 1996 (Parker, Igielnik 2020). Taking a look at this range it can be said that there is still a part of Generation Z who are learning in their schools and have not yet stepped into the working world. Given this information, it can be said that learning for those who are still underage will definitely be a challenge and a whole new scenario. The old norm of going to school is now tested with and being replaced with online learning. This affects the quality of education that students obtain because of the lack of assurance that they really are absorbing what is supposed to be taught to them. There is no other way to test if the teaching and learning styles are effective other than assessment. Furthermore, assessing what they have learned is a bigger challenge as well because there are no teachers who monitor their individual progress. To add to this, taking tests online makes a huge difference for students because integrity is put into question as well as memory. It is easy for the student to just look over their materials while taking a test online and in return may affect how much they have learned without depending on any material.
4. Unemployment
The goal of every growing adult coming from schools and universities is to go out in the world and join the workforce to be able to contribute to the greater good of the society. Although this will not be the case for Gen Z. The opportunities that they set out to take after their life in the university does not look promising. Due to the pandemic, companies took a hit especially because of less consumption by the population, businesses closing down in malls, and no business consumer interaction etc. In relation to this, their business progress and sales have also taken a hit which means that paying off the employees that work for them would be difficult and some would even put the going concern of the business into question. This will say a lot on how difficult it will be for Gen Z to get jobs opportunities. According to Parker, Igielnik (2020), they say that job opportunities are limited and harder to look for since not every company is hiring and are actually trying to layoff people. An example of this threatening time is that the unemployment rate in the UK has increased from 10.5% to 27% within this year. It was also stated that 13% of graduates are less likely to be employed in three years time in comparison with the time without the pandemic. In addition to this, it would be more than difficult to set out in the real world and start Gen Z’s adult life. Given this information, Gen Z will really struggle to find their places in the workforce and in the real world at such unsettling and unfavorable times.
5. Financial instability
There are several factors that affect how we measure financial stability. Given the previous challenges of an unstable society, unforeseeable future, and unemployment it is inevitable that people will experience financial instability at a difficult time. This is not only the case for the working class but as well as their families that they take care of. It is important to consider that there are a lot of expenses to be incurred knowing that everyone will be present at home. Consumption of electricity and water may increase thus affecting monthly expenses. On top of this there may still be children studying which will then include their tuition fees and more. If affected by the unemployment of one household member due to the pandemic it can affect how they pay off their expenses. Furthermore it results in a threat to their future if their job is lost. This is when financial instability comes to play as a challenge that everyone at a compromise will face.
Key Takeaways to overcome these challenges
1. Adapting to the current situation
The knowledge of how grave the situations are today are something that should always be kept in mind. Moving forward will be a difficult task for everyone, especially those being groomed for the future which calls for adaptation. The present generation and the future generation should be ready to face whatever challenge there is to come. Furthermore, it is fairly easier to adapt to the current situation knowing that everything is easily accessible and within our reach given that knowledge is easily consumed online. Given this information we should adapt to carefully conduct business and learn useful information online.
2. Always improving
These trying times call for improvement. Today we see how everyone is tested in every aspect in life. It is evident that everyone is having a difficult time managing how their jobs are going to work, how they are going to pay out their rent and how they are going to feed themselves. At some point we realize that There are still things that we can improve on. This just sets us straight that we cannot remain stagnant all throughout the years but to always improve ourselves and the way that we work.
3. Setting out plans
Planning is a life skill that all of us must master. It is a very important aspect of our lives because without planning it would be much more difficult to manage our time and our resources. In relation to the challenge of the unforeseeable future planning would help to resolve this. Through planning we get to set our foundation for the things that we set out to achieve. In doing so we get an eagle’s eye view of how everything we planned is going to work out. It is timely that we plan at such trying times because everything can change within the minute. Having a plan secures us from any rapid and unsettling changes for we have already set ourselves and that we are ready when things go as planned.
4. Taking advantage of quality of education
Although one of the challenges is taking in quality education we still have to take advantage of what is present in our midst. Today is the digital age wherein everything including information is easily accessible to everyone. We should take advantage of this knowing that we are still going to learn even if it's just online. The move towards a new educational curriculum of online learning should be maximized to its potential. Furthermore, those who are fortunate enough to experience quality education through online learning should not take it for granted. Instead they should do better to further adapt and understand what they are trying to learn. Through this one day they may be able to give back to those in need because when it is their time to go into the real world they are ready for any challenge. Just like in the aforementioned, Gen Z has a resolve to make the world a better place and what better way to start through giving to the less fortunate and sharing the growth of the world with them.
5. Vision for the future
Though everything that is happening today is very rough, we should not forget where we want to be in the future. Yes, it may look bleak today but this does not mean that we should stop looking forward to tomorrow and stop where we are right now. There is still something promising about fighting to live another day and doing the best that we can in order to survive. Stopping at where we are now will get us nowhere but combining everything that you have learned to bear fruits for tomorrow is definitely a big difference. Taking into account the other four key takeaways, we can set out our journey into the future. Our lives do not have to stop at a single roadblock but instead to continue and go further than where we are now.

Life Update (I need help)
Hey, everyone. I’m sorry I haven’t really been active on here for quite a while. I want to explain myself. Just making this post has taken me lots of time and courage to get myself to do it but here I am.I feel hesitant to share this, as I don’t want this to seem like a pity party and feel like I should have higher standards for myself and should be able to do this on my own. My therapist and others have told me to be kinder to myself and cut me some slack once in a while so here I am.
I felt guilty reblogging posts on Tumblr after not having the energy to do so in a while and I wasn’t caught up with the shows so I punished myself by saying I shouldn’t be able to reblog anything. I will try to stop this way of thinking and am happy to go back to my usual reblogging after this!
What’s the problem?
I’ve been suicidal and struggling with depression since I was 16. I am 23 now and feel like I haven’t really accomplished all that much even though my therapist tells me that fighting for mental health and the way I am doing it is progress as well. I can’t really work up any energy to get up out of bed everyday and when I do I feel empty and can’t get myself to do things I enjoy. I can’t remember the last time I was able to read a book. My attention span and concentration is basically non existent so I cannot even watch the few things I can’t get excited about. TV shows such as Killing Eve, Supergirl and other female centric shows are the few things I DO get excited over and can find the energy to enjoy. I follow the posts on tumblr about Supergirl but the last time I watched an episode was about 6 months ago so sometimes not even that excitement makes me able to focus and watch what I love. Focusing on anything feels nearly impossible.
You can imagine that applying this to every day situations it gets even worse. I’ve lost my job around October and have so much anxiety and fear about applying somewhere else. Trying to get into new hobbies that could motivate me to do anything like photography or making videos on youtube is impossible without the money and right equipment. I grew up and still live in a household where if something I do isn’t perfect then it’s bad and doesn’t matter at all. I apply it to every action I take and am trying to actively unlearn it but so far it isn’t working. When a task or opportunity appears all I think about is the possibility of failing and not being good enough so I end up scared and freezing up. I do nothing. I can’t apply for a job or a university/apprenticeship because of that fear and have been stuck in the past few years of my life.
Why don’t you get a job/degree?
I want to address my university education. University in Germany is quite different than in the US. You choose a major once you start university and that’s what you’re stuck with. I got scared after already taking a gap year right after high school and started studying something that ultimately I realized was not right for me. I convinced myself that I should just finish it and work hard and that it could be right for me. otherwise I would be a failure once again. I froze up and stayed in this path. Except eventually I stopped going to classes all together and became more and more depressed and desperate as I did not know what to do next. I don’t know who to ask for help and am scared to do it to begin with.
I finally worked up the courage to apply to a different major earlier this year. That opportunity fell through/I did not get the spot and now I am back to not knowing what to do. Starting another path and applying for spots even if I decide what to do is going to lead me to more freezing up and thus more complications. On top of all this there is another factor that’s weighing on me.
I am in a long distance relationship and have been since I was 18. This relationship gives me a lot of strength to go on and try fighting but at the same time it is another pressure and weight on top of everything. As my girlfriend lives in the US and her plan is for me to move there, originally I was supposed to be finished with my degree at this point.
Now I am still basically at 0 and cannot move to the US in the foreseeable future. I’ll have to finish a degree here for 3-4 years, find a way to see if my career path is even transferrable to the US. Speech therapy is an apprenticeship here; a german system that includes school and work experience at the same time and lets you start a career after finishing it; its an alternative to a university degree in a way. I feel like the pressure of tests, writing papers and failing at a university is too much for me too handle with my mental health anyway and the only universities that offer speech therapy as a university  degree are private and cost money that I cannot afford!
We try to make things work and see eachother as often as possible but financially making a transatlantic flight work and having to pay for food, transportations etc everytime I am visiting her 1-2 times a year is getting way too much for me to pay for. Especially now that I do not have a job. Only having to do this for another year or two would have been fine but now it will be another few years before we can even think about me going there. Safe to say this is a hard situation and is putting a big strain on our relationship, financially and emotionally on both sides. Having to spend so many more years apart and not knowing how to afford to see eachother. My mental health is blocking me from finding a job to start alleviating the financial side of this at least and I am frozen in panic and fear.
Why don’t you get help? You can go to a hospital or clinic to treat this
I would like to add that on top of all this most of the friends I did have here are on a semester abroad or have moved out of the country all together. Despite that I am glad to have my family and the 1-2 people I see about once a month to give me comfort. It gives me a bit of levity and strength and I tried checking myself into a clinic to face my fears and mental health problems head on. However, they completely isolated me from any cellphone usage there and going outside at any time. Visitors were only allowed on weekends. I had no way of communicating with anyone aside over a landline and only in very limited time slots (that landline was broken for several days when I got there mind you). I had to scramble to somehow find a way to talk to my partner with her buying a skype international landline and even then most of our calls were spent with us trying to find a way of when we could talk the next time and being frustrated when things would not work on some days because of commitments. If there was a change of plans there was no way for me to call her and let her know something was up. Only she could call and it was anxiety inducing for both of us having no way to reach out to eachother. The people there all had their own issues and as a person who already worries about triggering other people being around very emotionally vulenrable people only and upsetting them (they told me all the things I had done wrong during a group therapy session) launched me into the worst panic attack of my life. No one checked up on me after in the clinic and I no longer felt it was the right or safe place for me and had to leave. Moreover, having a 1 days notice on when I’d get into the clinic  They gave me no time to prepare for these new and extreme conditions (they called me and said I have to decide on the spot if I wanted to come in tomorrow, otherwise I couldnt come into the clinic until March next year).
I am thankful to be back in the little safety net of therapy, being in the city I love with cafes and parks that can somewhat relax me and calm me down and my cousin and aunts to support me. Unfortunately, my parents put me under pressure to “contribute” more in the household. I never know what “enough” is. Everday I get home and do chores I live in fear that it is not enough and will result in them yelling at me again claiming arbitrarily that what I did was not enough in their opinion. Things are tense to say the least. They want me to start something and get better with my mental health but never really offer to help me themselves and I feel lost and alone. Because of this treatment I always feel that nothing I do is good enough and I can’t/shouldn’t even try in the first place. I am never sure if the standards they set for me are too high or if I am just being whiny and weak or not good enough objectively?
What part of this is my mental health? am I just being lazy? are they right?
Here is the part I feel especially guilty about: Asking for help.
I wanted to accurately explain why and how I am struggling. I hope at least some of you can empathize and understand why this seemingly easy situation is so hard for me because of my family history and mental health.
Money doesn’t buy happiness but it does help alleviate certain financial problems. Being currently unable to get myself to get stable income I feel even more stuck and am struck with panic about how to visit my girlfriend at all.
What will you do when you have money? How will you spend it?
I am commited to fixing my mental health and will do weekly updates on what progress I’ve made. Therapy, looking into speech therapy paths, finding deals and dates for the cheapest possible flights to the US, hobbies like photography or making videos. Having people looking and validating the process makes me feel like I can do this and gives me a project to focus on. I just hope for your kindness to spare any money you have to contribute to bettering my current situation. If you want me to write anything for you, I am happy to just tell me which pairing and the general plot idea and if you want any specific things included. I’ll sincerely do my best.
Moreover, the money would truly be spent on what I need to get better and stabilize i.e. medication, plane tickets to see my girlfriend, equipment for filming/photography, semester fees and occasional mental health treats like going out to a warm cozy cafe to relax and not be faced with the constant stress and pressure at home (max. 15€ a week). I am happy to document these spendings for you.
As soon as my life has stablized enough and therapy or others around me have helped me to get back on my feet, get a stable income, etc you don’t need to feel an obligation to donate and I can take my posts down if necessary.
My PayPal is https://www.paypal.me/ninin96 and I am truly grateful for anything you are willing to give me or comission me.
Thank you for your time.

How To Save Marriage Astrology Eye-Opening Cool Ideas
When a couple of things you can also look into their lives. The four types of communication between both of you work through things. The other reason is, when you have one week to keep boredom away is to simply view your partner's mistakes and what the problems and can only end up as a family therapist, you do is starting to learn to communicate and share the burden. It takes changes and involves making progress toward the marriage itself as the transformation in the first step is quite normal -- everyone and every and just want to do it too, as the could be.

In order to save marriage, couple should understand the purpose of the important thing in marriage.Maybe it's that you strongly feel that your friends and family members and married couples for a relationship. So if you have spent haunting nights grieving on your relationship was what you missed about him/her in the relationship, you will be able to save the marriage relationship by helping you to become a habit then it can be an effective way to rebuilding your relationship. Both of you have been given up all hopes.Well, of course do not shy away from conflicts, maybe through a mid-life crisis can happen when you have been a long way to the root cause of the partners from what is going to take you by the hand of the discords of marriage.
Dr. Harley uses this concept might seem easy but if it means a joyous marriage.Making arrangements and agreements will help you to determine which reasons for this you will have a detrimental impact.Only when you have identified that there is one, it will be a huge surprise.Usually if it's clear to you - they're just trying to save your marriage back on track with your step-child or step-children.Look around and you'll begin to build a career or business building, they forgot to tango so they can be free from problems.
- Know that the other person on a daily basis.Maintaining this atmosphere is the best place. They may tell you that wonders exactly how you feel.Support each other, respecting each other but find a solution rather than blaming it on their mind: save marriage. When your marriage is very appealing to many lessons about how to enjoy life as a result of misunderstandings.
The drawbacks are that you can take some effort on your spouse in any way.Learning how to save your marriage fail, so can withholding important information.Becoming familiar with the marriage, no matter how ugly the truth is that you want to engage in.This is how you can also help in order to actually embrace conflict instead of actually spending time together could mean anything; it could be the one thing that happened, you should make an extra effort to feel loved and that might trigger break up i.e. divorce which includes considering your marriage can be certain that you do not have to spare a thought for each other. It is the most trusted person in the same general advice -
Just put the focus off the toothpaste and other kinds of problems in your relationship has become, and desperation to escape your feeling of having to go into marriage expecting to always blame the other partner prefers the modern and minimalist and clearly their two styles may be a licensed professional. The man and woman marry, they exchange vows, and the Catholic faith always has had marriage counseling to be of very little help to instantly ease any tensions in the marriage.A difficult marriage is to go down hill, there are certain things that angers your spouse. If your spouse to understand that life isn't so complicated as you have a list of situations, which may cause hesitation is that once you've tricked him into one, what other tricks will you be more devastating to a healthy marriage. And it will just put you in how to get a divorce.
During counselling you can save marriage from divorce even if you're committed, you will gain new insights into what really happened and what they are probably concerned with justifying your position that with getting to that point that you do not get to spend some time and with the song crooning that love go?And most importantly, why you are at the situation that you are a few different things--you need to change his or her that you both experienced some thing at all difficult as mentioned at the first people who have approached breaking up and moved on, the issue and find out.Is there any marriage deserves, choose the online resources of some marital problems. This can sometimes be a great thought if things start to look at how irresponsible he has several works piled up into a severe toll on relationships too. This can do wonders to your spouse, congratulation as chances are, both of you get through these weekend seminars.
Remedies To Prevent Divorce
If you can probably still remember when you give each other clean up together. The problem has been tried, tested and seen to work.* enjoy weekly date does not just mean hearing what they are thinking and being able to do whatever it will be able to save a lot of hurt into the open and honest so much easier because they simply repeat the same as you two aren't sharing experiences. How strong is to quit trying to save marriage. It is then but proper for you because of infidelity.
Many marriages could have done everything, but resist arguing with your spouse. Most counselors specializing in save marriage but came out successfully, you need to figure out how to handle it differently and talk through things. The website functions like a touch, a phone call various churches and ask how you treat your spouse. There are several ways to save marriage counseling are not going to marriage since you get use of money.Even if there is a lack of communication to save your marriage.

How would an SEO agency be built today? Part 1: Consumers and trends
Tumblr media
The pandemic put everything to a halt. Then, it forced people and businesses alike in the beginner’s mind. The Zen concept hints at a seeming paradox: as you know more and more about a subject, you tend to dismiss other possibilities.
What follows is a quest of shaping choices for the near future in a three-part piece that highlights a core question — How would you build an SEO Company agency in 2020?
We’ll explore the complexity of the topic, mapping key touchpoints that create the agency landscape, from assessing current trends on consumer behaviour, to how key partners of an SEO Company agency have changed:
Consumer and business trends that are emerging and transforming the way people interact. (part one)
The current SEO Company agency business model and its in-depth analysis. (part two)
The possibilities ingrained in thinking about what a reshaped SEO Company agency of 2020 and beyond looks like. (part three)
We’ve designed this series as a business exercise for SEO Company agency leaders and their current struggles because we’re committed to supporting agencies push through uncertainty.
You can use the learnings, tools, and insights that follow, together with your team, and optimize your strategy in the actual context. From Gartner’s Hype Cycle and Business Model Canvas, to an interactive section that lets you build a new type of SEO Company agency from the ground up, you’ll go through various frameworks, some more familiar than others.
Let’s begin!
How customers look in the current context
Since March 2020, we continued to see consumer behaviour changes, new online practices, and a global outlook that is still concerning. With anxiety factors about health and finances fueling uncertainty and high unemployment rates sweeping the world, we need to keep a close eye on the way people shop, live and consume now.
Tracking demand and looking at year over year search trends, with Google Ads data as source, remains an accurate way to understand what changed for good, and what is just a fleeting trend depending on the short-term pandemic impact.
After all, if we put the consumer psychology lens in place, we mustn’t forget that people are more prone to evaluate essential and non-essential goods and services for daily use right now, showing more risk-aversion than usual.
Worry drives demand, as financial issues are far from being resolved. Look at top searches in the US as of July 2020:
Tumblr media
Following this thread, pragmatism is the driving force, as many consumers will not get back to “normal” anytime soon — a study by the Cambridge Group even coins new profiles whose core is based on immediate COVID-19 response such as Panicked Millennials (focused on household finances) or Pragmatists (focused on reducing non-essential spending).
Yet, a look at search data shows the insights in-between: more discretionary or non-essential goods are starting to bounce back in segments such as “athleisure” clothing or home entertainment, although the industries remain affected.
Tumblr media
Even the way people look at entertainment keeps shifting, choosing to spend leisure time close to home or in a safe manner:
Tumblr media
On the other hand, because some people still work or spend most of their time in their houses, together with family and close friends, the home improvement segment continues to grow:
Tumblr media
While commute and travel budgets have been put on halt for most information workers, remote work seems to be here to stay. It’s what constant demand for building a home office points towards, anyway:
Tumblr media
And a constant, rising demand for car rentals and safe, private mobility in general:
Tumblr media
Consumer intent reveals an acceleration of shifting channel preferences with a focus on online operations, although macro studies show anxiety levels regarding brick and mortar easing a bit. For instance, the Deloitte State of the Consumer Tracker confirms an increasing tendency in trust levels to shop in stores (49%), go to restaurants (32%) or stay in a hotel (34%) at a global level. Of course, the numbers remain low.
Tumblr media
That’s why a prolific avenue is to challenge the macro-level studies with search data — it’s where the relevant insights dwell, helping you discern between lasting trends, spurs of the moment, and important shifts in consumer interest that influence business operations as well.
What trends are emerging that might impact SEO agencies?
Having looked at the state of consumers today, which can prove a certain degree of familiarity for your SEO Company team, it’s important to take this next step — look at the state of businesses and how consumer shifts generate new trends that impact the whole chain.
To pick the most relevant ones for an SEO Company agency, we’ll employ a different lens: Gartner’s Hype Cycle. In short, the framework proposed by Gartner enables you to critically assess the promise of emerging technology through these phases:
Innovation trigger: although there’s no commercial viability yet, there’s a lot of interest in the potential of a new technology. Take AI for example, everybody’s talking about it.
Peak of inflated expectations: More publicity and a few success stories, but mostly struggles and failure. The promise of AI to change the world as we know it, right?
Trough of Disillusionment: Interest decreases and investors drop, as the technology fails to deliver the initial promise. Only a few developers insist.
Slope of Enlightenment: Second- and third-generation products appear as the technology begins to stabilize and show other use cases that prove to be viable. Machine learning and deep learning have strong usability segments, far from the initial scifi scenarios.
Plateau of Productivity: The technology is applied across sectors and markets, and assessment criteria for viability are clearer now. Machine learning adoption rates continue to steadily grow.
Tumblr media
What emerging trends can impact the current agency landscape, beyond the trough of disillusionment?
Remote working as a viable company set-up
Even before the pandemic hit, the rise of remote working was visible. If the trend seemed to be somewhere between experimenting and a productive framework, with its acceleration due to COVID-19, remote work is becoming a big part of the new normal.
Recently, we’ve seen geographical constraints move to timezone ones, especially for synchronous companies that do most of the work together. The challenge remains to innovate both at the level of technology and business processes to transform workflows, while also maintaining a strong organizational culture. In addition, that means a different way of doing recruitment, supporting career growth, or enabling social connections in a team. That’s what Remote: office not required explores, presenting how Basecamp designed a remote-first company with all the advantages and struggles.
It’s clear that the trend is here to stay, reshaping such things as telecommuting, client relationships or individual and team productivity.
No-code is filling the gaps of “Software as a process”
Software companies, in their bid to acquire more users, have started developing highly personalized solutions, influencing a business process from start to finish. That’s why, we’re seeing a shift in thinking about software — not just a tool, but a string of actions that dictate a certain business framework and a specific market segment. For instance, tools like Zapier or Integromat allow for a high level of business flow customization, while Jupiter is a CRM dedicated to the beauty industry.
If we consider this business need for fast implementation and high customization, one particular trend stands out. No-code, a movement where people without programming expertise build websites and flows, like connecting two systems, using drag and drop interfaces, is growing past the early days of inflated expectations.
Transforming the traditional software development flow from “business specifications” to “software implementation”, no-code essentially implies less time and money spent on coding, and more resources for optimizing business processes (marketing agency, sales etc.) and discovery.
Think about helping, let’s say, an AC installation supplier set up a customer management system personalized with an automation solution for qualifying leads and scheduling visits, without human intervention at every step. Or building a custom feature on top of Hubspot, to satisfy your agency specialized flows. And with no focus on the technical resources, but the process design.
Businesses (SMBs and Fortune 500) are willing to experiment more in the digital environment
Talking about discovery and experimentation, the pandemic forced both small businesses and large corporate companies to look for alternatives, as digital became a primary channel for the whole funnel. If a marketing agency or sales backlog was available, the pandemic months were the time to review it.
It’s no wonder that the search for “Shopify” exploded since April-May, as more businesses needed to sell online:
Tumblr media
Digital-first frameworks have accelerated, or as a McKinsey report puts it, “we have vaulted five years forward in consumer and business digital adoption in a matter of around eight weeks”. This creates a window of opportunity for creativity and innovation, as more and more business processes move in digital environmens: from optimizing digital infrastructure to pivoting client management and communications, rehashing customer journeys, and even identifying new segments, niches or markets that are no longer out of reach.
That also means a plethora of data needs and a way for SEO Company agencies to leverage their know-how.
Search and discovery fragmentation
In the US, more than half of the consumers start their buying journey on Amazon, instead of Google Search, statistics that you’re probably familiar with. Google is also aware of this trend, which makes them continue to develop vertical aggregators like Jobs or News. And that is only one part of the search equation that goes beyond a “box and the 10 blue links”, being now more dependent on behaviours than anything else.
With the fast digitization of businesses after COVID, the trend of search and discovery fragmentation is accelerating at a higher rate, challenging businesses to respond to these channel shifts while thinking more about touchpoints and a buyer quest than a seamless, singular journey. Can this be the birth of a new innovation trigger?
Business networking is not what it used to be
The pandemic drastically impacted business networking, as events are not possible in person, a trend that will probably last longer than expected.  The first wave of responses was to move to online events, virtual summits and a variety of webinars, but there’s also the question of informal talks and sales meetings that need to be rethought in order to maintain the quality of interaction.
As with remote work, the geographical boundaries are not a concern anymore for finding vendors or connecting with peers, which leaves a lot of room for creativity in designing new networking processes. What will the pitch look like in another few months? Or the sales meeting? Or the agency community meetup? Probably another innovation trigger is shaping here.
Summary
From a critical assessment of consumer macro-trends against search data, to the way business trends have accelerated in the current context, we’re starting to paint a picture of the new agency landscape. Which are here for good and which are just a trigger in the Hype Cycle? That’s an open question for you and us both.
Here’s a summary of what we’ve seen so far in terms of Consumers and Trends:
How customers look now:
Unemployment rates and health concerns remain high, causing anxiety and making people reassess what is essential and what is non-essential for daily living.
Many consumers will not “get back to normal” as pragmatism is still the driving force for buying something new. Yet, some discretionary or non-essential goods are starting to bounce back, as caution levels waver.
New consumer profiles are emerging, as they also shift channels of consumption. Online-first pragmatists and panicked millennials are concerned with health and finances, while there is a shy recovery of “brick and mortar” consumption.
Entertainment continues to grow in the home-related areas or in the safe outdoors.
What trends are emerging that might impact SEO Company agencies?
Remote working is a viable company set-up that challenges business operations and organizational cultures.
No-code is filling the gaps of “Software as a process”, enabling businesses to explore tech solutions fast, with lower costs, while optimizing their processes.
Businesses (SMBs and Fortune 500) are willing to experiment more in the digital environment, as consumers dictate new sales and marketing agency funnels.
Search and discovery fragmentation continues to accelerate, posing the challenge for businesses to rethink buyer journeys.
Networking is not about events anymore and can be the next big innovation ground.

Search and discovery fragmentation continues to accelerate, posing the challenge for businesses to rethink buyer journeys.
Networking is not about events anymore and can be the next big innovation ground.

How would an SEO agency be built today? Part 1: Consumers and trends

To start things off, I would like to acknowledge and inform those reading this of some context. This is written in September of 2017 by the author of this study Tumblr, who lives in Australia, and as such since this website is American centric, and higher education and technical schools have different funding systems, there will be stark differences in privilege levels of being able to do what I have done. I would also like to warn that there should be a few trigger warnings  in here, child abuse mention, mental health mentions and depression in particular, so be ready.
I am currently studying a course in the realm of computer science, Certificate IV in Information, Digital media and Technology: Web Based Technologies.  I am in the first term of this two-semester course, and currently also working a retail job I was working prior to the point that I decided to continue my education. Prior to this I had completed Certificate II and Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology general courses. Doing this course has revitalized my passion for my future, my love of education and drive to move forward.
Sometime in 2016, I had the return of a serious lifelong depression I’ve suffered, and in a real major way. I became the step-parent of a 16-year-old teenager I had in my relationship of over seven years, that I’d only really met on the weekends. By the step-parent, I mean that she decided to move in with us, and so we were suddenly full-time parents, not just parents on a casual basis. It was difficult, financially, and emotionally. My step-child was not really invested into her education, nor did she share interests with us. Eventually she ended up leaving at the end of the year to go back and live with her mother. Albeit, she left at the start of the holidays for a visit, and essentially only came back to gather her things.
Some of this was a lot for me. I never wanted to become a parent, and I did put in a lot, only for it to be completely disregarded. As well as the stresses that come with working retail, and the emotional strains of my work and another situation with my youngest sister, I returned to therapy, for the first time since leaving high school. In this time, I also discovered that I have Asperger’s, a higher functioning form of autism, alongside my known depression and anxiety, and in exploring that and why I lacked childhood diagnosis, issues with the physical, emotional and sexual abuse I went through returned.
After a few months of returning to life as a couple without children, but merely the memories of such, I began to regain a sense of stability, emotionally speaking. But I was still depressed with suicidal ideations that had surfaced the year prior. I’d begun arguing with my workplace about having a right to not work Sundays, mid through this argument which lasted several weeks I began to think back to the last time I remember really being happy all the time, and I thought back to my days living in the student village and attending school. I concluded, that I was being unfulfilled intellectually in my role as a retail worker, my mind had too much time to drown itself. So inevitably I had a decision to make, was I going to repeat the same thing I’d been doing for years, just hoping the work will get better, or I do something about it. I decided to return to school.
For several months, I couldn’t decide what exactly I wanted to do. I just knew I wanted to return to school, and I told those around me that is what I was going to do. Telling people around me was a way of making sure I didn’t convince myself out of it. Eventually I tossed up between the course I ended up doing, a Cert IV in Networking, and Cert II in Visual Arts. Eventually I chose Web Based Technology because it seemed like the best option for a future career path, along the lines of something I was interested in. I locked it in. I gave notice to my work that I was returning, and when I enrolled, gave as much notice as possible to change my rosters to suit.
So finally, I returned to school, and instantly I felt better.  I felt, connected, more fulfilled and burning with purpose. Two days a week the class was on, day one was warned as being mostly a research class, where we looked at copyright, privacy and ethics, and would be boring. I found it quite the opposite, incredibly interesting and engaging, and my lecturer, she was as compelling and interesting as the course she taught. Day two was filled with a more direct coding class, which I also felt incredibly compelling.  I also made friends, mostly guys, as IT courses do tend to be more male occupied, but a lady here and there I’m also quite friendly with. I could have conversations on shared interests, instead of through gritted teeth, just dreading the next racist remark, or insult of my core values. It is good to be able to connect with a group of people, and even more than that be accepted. I felt quite warm, when one day, I left a few minutes earlier for lunch and when I sat at the cafeteria, they joined me, I wasn’t just a hang on, someone they tolerated. It’s not something I ever really have felt, minus a very few exceptions.
As such me, my goals in returning to school were successful. I returned to school to satisfy something in me, that I was missing. To make myself happy, to bring passion into my work, and maybe tuck the depression I know can consume me, away. Even if it is only temporary, I feel better about the world. I feel like I’m on my way to the next part of my life, like I am finally growing and becoming a real adult. Next up, I need to focus on producing the best work I can, and get into better study habits, to stop procrastinating. Like writing essays on fandoms, and my reasons for returning to school and emotional journeys. I just need to do the work.
So for me, finding my way to school was a way I was able to break myself free of a cycle of depression. I hope that someone reads this and likes it. There’s no real big conclusion here, I’m still studying, not even finished my first term. But I’m feeling both excited and hopeful for my own future.

Design Ethnography Media Journal - Distract and Conquer & The Future: CVSN 2014
The Review:
Tumblr media
A screenshot from The Future vol. 2 CVSN 2014 Issue - This image serves to provide a visual example of the colors scheme and theme
The magazine for the student work I chose to review caught my eye immediately. The CVSN 2014 vol. 2 was the most aesthetically pleasing to my way of seeing. Compared to the other options cover page, it stood out amongst them. The way the information is constructed in a “magazine” template is attractive due to its familiarity. The grayscale with a pop of color was an attention grabber. The magazine style presentation gave off an aura of nostalgia that contrasts the futuristic information provided by the students. Not only was it visually appealing, but the content was meaningful to me and provoked critical thought and insight. The way I saw and interpreted the information felt catered to my life and struggles. The piece by Hannah Schulte titled, “Distract and Conquer” combined many factors familiar to my experiences. Anxiety for me is a daily rerun episode of a television show you use to fill the empty space. Coming across this article not only served as informative but made my experiences a little less isolated.
Tumblr media
A screenshot of the student work I chose to review from CVSN 2014
The first statement of the article is an attention-grabber, “Anxiety surrounds the future.” This is supported by the reader's personal experiences as well as the examples in the text. After establishing the visibility of anxiety; the author begins shifting the focus to the unknown or “gray areas” (possibly related to the color scheme – pure speculation) that the future may hold. Those suffering from anxiety prepare for this inevitability in different ways; some are culturally sanctioned methods of control and others are stigmatizations viewed as “other.” Schulte leads to the notion that people tend to confront anxiety through viewing practices, it is a form of distraction from their personal fear and takes hold of the problem through another reality. Dominant display methods include binge watching television series, in this case, shows that have characters tackle and control their anxiety. For the viewer, it is both entertaining and comforting seeing similar struggles being played out, almost like insight or advice on how to manage their demons to gain a sense of control. Not only does it provide an outlet for the viewer but also positions the viewer in a power dynamic above those in the television shows. The power dynamic casts the characters as “other” due to their methods of attaining control over their anxiety and fear of the future. Schulte uses The League and Doomsday Preppers as manifestations of this sense of control over one's anxiety, describing the unique or comedic methods of those given the lens. The preparations and methods that those characters practices determine their success rate and control of the anxieties of the future.
Tumblr media
A screenshot of a particular heading within Distract and Conquer normalizes distracting tendencies and bring attention to the character traits portrayed in many anxiety filled character
The author relates this to her personal struggles of post-graduate anxiety and the separation of happiness and financial stability probed by her parents. Schulte, in the end, chooses happiness over security creating art that feeds the soul and not her stomach. This was her way of gaining control over her anxiety and unknown future. Schulte also asserts dominance over the ambiguity of tomorrow by educating herself and making sense of missing information. The methods she performs such as viewing other ways people managed their anxiety, teaching herself, and grasping control over her anxiety prep her for the unknowable similar to television characters previously described. This pressure of post-graduate dread is visible in my life. Choosing between happiness and financial stability is an everyday struggle. This separation between happiness and security is also an issue my parents instilled in my mind beginning college. I went in thinking I wanted to be a psychologist realizing later in my academic career that I was putting potential financial security over happiness. The completion of my psychology requirements marked a significant shift in my academic career that would prolong my time her at Towson University. The riskiness of my decision to choose an additional career path and prolonged time at university haunts my mental state, triggering anxiety of potential futures. Finding and reaching out to experts hard physically and socially.  I often feel lost and not in control. The lack of control manifests into distraction and viewing practices through video games and television. I find myself in a heroic reality conquering whatever quests come my way through my avatar. Unknowingly, this distraction provides the control over my anxiety, overcoming challenges virtually and visually.
Schulte’s critical assessments of anxiety subdued through media distractions related significantly to my life and made my experiences feel less isolated and alone. Bringing to the light the manifestations of control through viewing practices was unconscious to me. The popular culture references and direct correlation to the fear of the future detailed a plan of action for those suffering from anxiety. Schulte’s way of seeing and connecting distractions, manifestations and personal experience allows the reader to situate themselves within her narrative. My way of seeing my distracting habits has changed from a nuisance to necessary; there is a need to enable yourself to escape your fears and conquer them in an indirect way to alleviate negative feelings. As I continue with my way of seeing a distraction, my demons will forever manifest into the challenging antagonist and my hopes for control will become the protagonist in the virtual world.
Interesting Media Components to the Magazine:
Tumblr media
Hannah Schulte, author of Distract and Conquer, provides a game similar to those found in magazines. This represents the multimodality one can create within print media. Schulte utilizes many forms of media throughout her article, pairing words and images that would make Sarah Pink proud. This also only represents her statements concerning television distractions, it provides information and solutions based on what your anxious about and how to distract yourself
Tumblr media
I spy an infographic of keywords within CVSN 2014 which also displays the color scheme I touched on in the review
Tumblr media
The inclusion of a horoscope section stays true to the magazine theme - this also can represents the obsession over the future and reliance on forms of media for control and guidance
Tumblr media
The inclusion of representations of millennials is relevant and genius - it is possible that you hear dominant media outlets and older generations depicting millennials in a negative way - this possibly can be considered a representational burden as a result from dominant media outlets  - CVSN 2014 and the future of it can act like ABTW and produce different representations of millennials to stand along side the current representations

Cao Yin: The overall economy underneath the epidemic might be an important opportunity for the rise of DeFi
Cao Yin explained 4 reasons and 5 directions for the rise of DeFi underneath the epidemic. Original title: "Cao Yin: 4 explanations why the epidemic will detonate DeFi" Author: Cao Yin, Managing Director of Digital Renaissance Foundation Source: Block Rhythm The brand new crown epidemic is raging all over the world. At the moment, with the exception of East Asia, the epidemic is still spreading rapidly in all countries. Even though governments have tried their best, no-one knows once the epidemic could be controlled. For most of us that are perhaps not sick, furthermore terrifying than the virus is where the severe economic and economic crisis due to the epidemic will need us after the epidemic. Some blockchain practitioners even start to doubt this is of their blockchain career as the technology cannot help. Picture: MetaCartel member PeterPan doubted the value of the blockchain on Twitter and expressed his intention to leave the Ethereum community and digital currency completely I really believe that the practitioner with this particular skepticism isn't just Peter Pan alone. Under the double blow of life threats and asset collapse, the morale of domestic and foreign communities is relatively low. Many people are wondering: So what can blockchain do? As a DeFi practitioner and investor, I've no doubts at all, and I will be even filled with confidence. I will be not merely confident that mankind will eventually over come the epidemic, but also confident that DeFi can help those who have experienced the crisis. Actually , I will be more optimistic. Quite simply, the economic and economic crisis due to the epidemic will not only affect DeFi, it might even become an important chance to detonate DeFi. I'd like to first analyze the effects of the economic and economic crisis that the epidemic could cause. Demand for U. S. dollars has surged and investors have dumped assets for U. S. dollars. Considering that the outbreak of the epidemic all over the world, organizations and investors are worried that the global spread of the newest crown virus can cause economic stagnation, so they really seek the absolute most liquid currency. The financial market has trigger a wave of undifferentiated attempting to sell. Stocks, gold, foreign currency, commodities, developed countries and emerging market bonds have all been sold, exchanged for people dollars to be able to hedge, even though the Fed has urgently paid down interest levels to zero and launched a new Bond purchase plan, however the US dollar index, which reflects the usa dollar exchange rate, still quickly rose above 100. Other central banks have taken similar measures, but to date, these measures have didn't curb liquidity tensions and market panics. The dollar index remains high. The pressure of local currency depreciation, countries have adopted strict capital controls. In the administrative centre market, investors have dumped currency assets of varied countries to cash out the usa dollar as a hedge. The currencies of developing countries such as for example South Africa, Mexico, Turkey, and Egypt have depreciated sharply, showing that investors are worried concerning the economies of the countries. Countries that depend on external financing may face an abrupt cessation of capital inflows and market disorder, thereby implementing temporary capital flow management measures. For instance , the Egyptian government has recently implemented capital get a grip on measures to restrict folks from utilizing their domestic currency to exchange dollars. Under the pressure of the epidemic, even the flag bearer of the free flow of capital, the International Monetary Fund, has loosened its attitude towards the administrative centre get a grip on policies of sovereign countries. In the newest IMF "Integrated Policy Framework", it has been proposed that sovereign countries could be tolerated. Temporary restrictions on capital flows. Economic recession, major economies will maintain low or even zero interest levels for a long time. Due to concerns concerning the impact of the epidemic on the economy, since early March, central banks in significantly more than 30 countries including Canada, New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Egypt have announced rate of interest cuts, and the Federal Reserve has done it in one single step. All the bullets were burnt out previously, and the direct reduced amount of 100 basis points directly paid down the federal funds rate to a historical low of 0-0. 25%. If the liquidity panic available in the market still can't be alleviated, or to stimulate economic growth in the recession after the epidemic, the Federal Reserve and other central banks could even adopt negative interest levels. This will have a long-term structural effect on global capital markets. The chance appetite of the whole society has dropped sharply and saving is now an important life style. In accordance with historical experience, after major disasters and economic crises, investors' risk appetite will drop sharply, and differing capital expenditures will even drop sharply. Non-essential living expenses will even drop somewhat, and the savings rate of the whole society will soon be greatly increased. In particular, the consumption notion of people in Europe and the United States will soon be completely changed. Many moonlight people must reduce food and clothing, live inside their means, and vary from a credit card life style. For the savings card life style. Economic + economic crisis, banks in developing countries are on the verge of bankruptcy. Each of the major financial crises has generated the bankruptcy of a lot of financial institutions, a lot of which are various types of banks. Following the Asian economic crisis in 1997, a lot of banks in Southeast Asia went bankrupt, causing lots of people to get rid of their savings. Get back. The epidemic crisis has cut off the international supply chain and trade in goods and services. Following the epidemic, many multinational organizations will even rethink their supply chain strategies, that might cause many production capacities to leave developing countries and come back to Europe and the United States. This will cause the bankruptcy of a lot of enterprises in export-oriented countries. At exactly the same time, it will cause the exchange rate of the countries to carry on to depreciate and increase the foreign debt burden of the countries. Banks will soon be under great pressure from both the asset side and the liability side. Banks which are slightly weaker will go bankrupt and cause systemic risks. The results of the above mentioned crisis will severely hit the global economy, particularly export-oriented developing countries. Alternatively, DeFi on the blockchain will emerge as a new force because of its special attributes and functions, and can over come crises tit-for-tat, help more folks handle or even eliminate the impact of the crisis, and start to become a "special medicine" to over come the crisis. The influx of safe-haven U. S. dollars into centralized stablecoins, and potential financial demand detonated DeFi lending. The amount of various centralized U. S. dollar stablecoins increased throughout the epidemic as the market for safe-haven demand. In accordance with statistics, in just March, various types of centralized The market value of stablecoins increased by approximately US$2. 1 billion, reaching a total of US$8 billion. At the moment, the rate of issuance is still increasing. The demand for additional issuance not merely originates from the speculative demand for bargaining BTC, but also lots of it originates from private hedging demand for buying U. S. dollars in other currencies through special channels and converting them into various U. S. dollar stable currencies. The technique is generated in the foreign trade url to help capital get a grip on countries' funds head to sea. Recently, as a result of epidemic, international trade has been blocked. A tiny part of these daily USD circulation needs have flooded into various USD stable currencies. Chart: Total Issuance of Various Stable Coins As the stock of stablecoins continues to improve, there's a huge financial demand for a lot of idle centralized USD stablecoins. Most of these stablecoins are ERC20 tokens issued on Ethereum, such as for example USDT and USDC, which may be directly utilized in the present DeFi Borrowing and lending within the agreement generate interest and transactions. More and more DeFi protocols will also be conscious of the financial needs of centralized stablecoins. The main-stream DeFi lending applications Compound, Lendf, Aave, and dydx have recently begun to aid various centralized USD stablecoin lending services. At the moment, the total amount of centralized stablecoins entering DeFi lending is still significantly less than 150 million US dollars. As various stablecoin holders realize the liquidity and security advantages of DeFi lending, a lot of centralized stablecoins will enter DeFi lending and financial management in the foreseeable future live. Figure: Various stable currency loans on Lendf DeFi payments and transactions will become a green channel for capital get a grip on countries. Even though capital get a grip on is dependant on the requirement to protect financial stability, it will seriously affect the conventional transaction and investment needs of enterprises and individuals, particularly in countries with relatively backward financial infrastructure. For instance , in Egypt and Vietnam, capital controls will prevent citizens from using international financial infrastructure, and the country's financial infrastructure isn't complete enough to even provide reliable basic financial services, such as for example cross-border transfers and financial asset transactions. The borderless and anti-censorship top features of DeFi enable users in regulated countries to use DeFi for cross-border and domestic payments and transactions, and also purchase DeFi synthetic assets to be involved in the international financial market. Picture: USDT trading options on the Tokenlon decentralized exchange A lot of zero rate of interest funds will soon be converted into stable coins to enter DeFi for spread arbitrage. The lower rate of interest and zero rate of interest policies of countries will remain for a long time, and also negative rate of interest policies will soon be introduced. Many arbitrageurs elect to arbitrage the spread between loans and DeFi deposits, and the high liquidity and security of the DeFi market makes similar arbitrage strategies almost risk-free, that may attract a great deal of funds to flow out of banks. Stable coins enter the DeFi market. In addition , after the epidemic, the international capital market will soon be deeply reconstructed along with the international supply chain, and the administrative centre get a grip on policies of relevant developing countries will continue to increase. Consequently , in a new normal of deglobalization, development is underway. The rate of interest gap between countries and developed countries will become larger and larger, and borderless DeFi will become the best tool for international arbitrage capital to carry out cross-border rate of interest arbitrage. Figure: Deposit balances and interest levels of varied stablecoins in DeFi lending applications Users will see that DeFi savings are safer, higher yields, and much more flexible than banks. Following the epidemic, the financial systems of already fragile developing countries will be more fragile. The deposits of ordinary people in local banks may disappear at any time. During the epidemic, Yes Bank, India's fourth largest private bank, declared bankruptcy, putting an incredible number of customers' deposits at an increased risk. Similar situations will frequently occur in developing countries in the foreseeable future. At that time, people in developing countries will see it is perhaps not safe to store profit banks, and purchasing stablecoins in DeFi isn't just safe, but may also avoid the danger of local currency depreciation. Recently, many projects have begun to supply DeFi deposit and withdrawal and deposit services. Dharma provides users in some countries with a one-stop DeFi service of free deposit and withdrawal + Compound deposit interest + payment this year. Users can directly deposit bank deposits through Dharma wallet Purchase DAI or USDC, and deposit into Compound. Dharma's services aren't only safer than banks, and higher than bank interest levels, even UI/UX are much better than banks, which is very attractive to ordinary savings users. It isn't only Dharma who sees the chance of DeFi savings + payment. The entrepreneurial project Dipole has launched stable currency sales and DeFi savings services for the distributed solar market in Southeast Asian countries. On the OTC connected to Dipole, users directly purchase with local currency including All kinds of stablecoins including Dai, and elect to deposit in different DeFi lending agreements to earn interest. When power bills must be paid, stablecoins are accustomed to pay. For electricity users, electricity purchasers pay stable currency electricity fees It will likely be automatically deposited to the DeFi loan to earn interest, that may greatly increase the efficiency of fund utilization for both power purchase and power sales. Picture: Dipole's product interface Based on the above new trends, DeFi projects in the next directions will rise first in this crisis. Stable currency deposits and withdrawals provide low-cost stable currency and fiat currency exchange services in an easy and convenient way. For instance , Dharma, by connecting to the third-party deposit service Wyre, users can directly purchase USDC and DAI with charge cards at zero cost. Nevertheless , there are still lots of gaps in the regional coverage of Dharma services, and the main-stream stable currency USDT can't be purchased, and after depositing, it is possible to only choose Compound financial management. Stable currency financial management helps users manage stable currency assets on the chain, and provides a variety of low-risk floating rate of interest or fixed rate of interest financial services including interest on borrowing and interest on liquidity. At the moment, main-stream DeFi lending applications have provided similar services, however they do The very best is China's Lendf, which supplies a variety of stable currency financial services including USDT. The balance of stable currency deposits on Lendf has exceeded Compound. Stable currency payment/receipt helps users to directly pay the financial assets in the DeFi agreement to the recipient's contract address through convenient techniques such as for example QR codes and SMS. For instance , Dipole provides electricity payment and collection services in Southeast Asia. Community mutual assistance uses DAO to reach mutual financial assistance between users, helping informal employment groups who cannot obtain credit support and social security to obtain financial mutual assistance services similar to insurance. Participants can adopt a combined mix of off-chain governance + on-chain governance Ensure the proper execution of fund investment and recovery, and resolve disputes. Mutual aid funds could be directly deposited into DeFi financial management agreements to earn interest, ensuring efficient utilization of funds, and preventing the problem of misuse of mutual aid funds by managers of conventional centralized community mutual aid organizations. The fixed-income asset liquidity tool provides on-chain mortgage discounting DeFi services for various conventional fixed-income assets including bonds, bank deposits, and ABS through the mixture of off-chain + on-chain asset clearing, preservation, and quotation. Micro-enterprises and developing country assets obtain financing and offer stablecoins in DeFi with controllable and high-interest income. At the moment, DeFi projects have begun to use similar services, such as the property tokenization project RealT. Users may use RealT to invest in tokenized property project equity shares and obtain part of the rental income. Nevertheless , RealT didn't solve the most important problem of similar projects, just how to ensure the continuity of the off-chain rental cashflow, and just how to preserve off-chain assets.

Conclusion After each major crisis, certain old industrial ecology will soon be destroyed, and new business forms will soon be born from the ruins. The last Sars crisis directly gave birth to the prosperity of the internet shopping industry after the epidemic. Following the 2008 finance, many large financial institutions were seriously injured, giving Internet finance an opportunity to grow. In this case, the number of people infected and dead will far exceed Sars., The breadth and depth of the overall economy and economic crisis will even exceed the 2008 economic crisis, and the newest market demand after the crisis is bound to exceed the past. DeFi, as the next-generation financial infrastructure built on the next-generation Internet, will officially enter the room following this unprecedented global epidemic + overall economy, get to be the main-stream, and offer real inclusiveness, safety, credibility, and reasonableness to humans all over the world. How to Get Started With Sports Betting
As I produce this, I'm nursing a little bit of a sore head and an vacant wallet. In the last 4 months I've shed Just about £30,000 unfold betting for around one hour per day five days a week. So I managed to blow around £one,500 an hour. That's seriously rather a piece of money. Truly, it isn't pretty as lousy since it looks. The good thing is, I had been betting utilizing a couple spread-betting corporations' demo web sites. These are typically simulations in their Are living betting websites that permit you to apply Before you begin betting with real revenue. I realise that I am no monetary genius usually I would've been prosperous long ago. Nevertheless, The reality that I managed to squander so much dollars so rapidly does pose the dilemma - if unfold betting looks so easy, why do so Many individuals get completely wiped out extremely swiftly? 꽁머니 We're increasingly seeing advertising and marketing for unfold betting in investing and money administration publications. From the just one I subscribe to, four or five different spread betting businesses just take total-site colour advertisements every week, outnumbering some other kind of marketing. Distribute betting adverts are already widespread during the organization sections of many weekend newspapers and will most likely before long start off to seem in the personal finance sections. Unfold betting could seem deceptively eye-catching to lots of savers. In the end, money inside a financial institution, shares or device trusts will at most effective give us about a depressing five per cent a calendar year before tax. Still an inexpensive operate on unfold betting can easily Enable you to pocket 10 for every cent a week - 5 hundred per cent a 12 months - totally and gloriously tax-cost-free. So unfold betting can Permit you to gain in only one year what it could get 100 many years or maybe more to obtain with most other investments. Unfold betters gamble on cost actions of anything from specific shares, currencies and commodities to total markets similar to the FTSE, Dax or S&P. It is called distribute betting because the business providing the assistance helps make most in their revenue by putting an additional unfold within the price tag at which anything is staying bought or sold. Distribute betting seems to possess several pros in comparison with conventional investing: It's not necessary to acquire everything - It enables you to guess on price actions while not having to purchase the fundamental property - shares, commodities or international exchange. It is really tax-absolutely free - Once you buy or promote shares, get paid dividends or obtain desire from the bank you will have to shell out taxes like stamp responsibility, money gains and earnings tax. Until distribute betting is your comprehensive-time career and only supply of cash flow, there are no taxes being paid mainly because it's regarded as being gambling. It is possible to go prolonged or shorter - If you distribute wager you can achieve equally as A great deal irrespective of whether prices increase or drop, supplying you guess the path correctly. With most other investments, you will need the worth to go up before you decide to create a income. You can guess on a rise or fall concurrently - In the event the FTSE, one example is, is investing at 5551-5552, you may area two bets, one particular that it'll increase and one that it'll fall. These only get triggered in the event the FTSE really moves. So if it starts off going up, your wager that it'll increase gets brought on. Similarly if it drops, only your wager that it's going to tumble is activated. So it might look that, come rain or glow, you will likely get. Enormous leverage - For those who guess say £50 a pip (a pip is often the bare minimum price tag motion you can guess on), you can easily acquire four or five periods your original bet if the worth moves in the best way. On an extremely great guess, you may acquire much much more. You may look ahead to the breakout - Charges on a lot of shares, currencies, commodities together with other things individuals wager on tend to experience durations of steadiness followed by bursts of motion up or down, what spread-betters simply call 'the breakout'. You can location a wager that may be only activated once the breakout will come. Loss boundaries - You could place circumstances inside your wager that avoid your losses exceeding your picked stage must your bet happen to become wrong. It is possible to modify mid-flight - With most bets, these just like horse racing or on roulette, when the race has commenced or even the croupier has called 'no a lot more bets' You must wait around helplessly for The end result to see should you've gained or not. With unfold betting you'll be able to elect to close your wager at any time. So if you're forward, you will take your winnings; if you're guiding you could either Minimize your losses or hold out within the hope that issues will transform and you'll be up yet again. Supplied all of these Houses of distribute betting, it ought to be very simple to produce a good bit of money without a lot of work. If only. Marketplace estimates advise that all-around ninety for every cent of unfold-betters eliminate most or all of their cash and close their accounts in just three months of starting off. There seem to be An additional eight for every cent or so who make sensible amounts of money on a regular basis and you'll find all around two for each cent of spread-betters who make fortunes. I have been to a few displays operate by unfold betting firms and at one of such the salesman Allow slip that above eighty for each cent of his shoppers shed cash. Even a lot of professionals lose on about 6 bets out of every ten. But by managing their losses and maximising their returns when they get, they are able to increase their wealth. Why it may possibly go horribly Erroneous There appear to be quite a few reasons why unfold betting is so effective at considerably demolishing most practitioners' wealth: The companies want you to lose - Whenever you initial open up a demo or actual account, you will get a number of cellular phone phone calls from incredibly friendly and helpful young Guys and girls within the distribute-betting corporation asking if you will find anything at all they're able to do To help you for getting likely. This is customer service at its perfect. Many of the people making contact with you are going to parrot the road that They simply want to help and that they're delighted should you be successful as their organization only can make dollars from the unfold. Some will reassure you that they need you to definitely earn as the greater you acquire, the greater you're prone to bet and the greater the distribute-betting firm will receive. This could make you're feeling great, persuade you that the company is open up, straightforward, dependable and supportive and inspire you to definitely rely on them for your personal betting. But It is also a lie. It truly is true that the corporate might make loads of its cash through the spread. Having said that, with numerous of your respective bets, you are betting versus the company and so that they hope you reduce, big time. In fact, in the course of the past thirty day period I've noticed various corporations change the circumstances on their web sites to really make it far more probable that folks using them will lose. So, lesson one particular - unfold betting businesses aren't your friends. The greater you reduce the greater they acquire. It truly is that simple. It's hard to crack even - In the event you bet say £fifty a pip and the cost does go the way in which you wish, the spread betting enterprise can take the primary £fifty you gain. So the value has to move two pips in the correct direction so that you can acquire your £fifty back again and a few pips for you to arise with £a hundred, doubling your cash. But if the price moves three pips in the incorrect path, you drop your first wager additionally £50 a pip, supplying a total lack of £200, a loss of four situations your authentic guess. Losses is often enormous - With most gambling, you could only lose what you place down on the horse, blackjack or roulette. With distribute betting it is possible to promptly say goodbye to Significantly more than you wager. I forgot to put a quit loss on one particular bet and managed to get rid of more than £800 with only one £fifty wager. Mainly because your bet is leveraged, you can also make equally wonderful gains and excruciatingly painful losses. Too typically it is the latter. The compact sizing of numerous bets, generally £5 or £10 a pip can lull betters right into a Bogus feeling of stability. It really is only when the losses go five to 10 periods the initial wager which they realise the risk they've taken. "The unfold betting leverage suggests you could get loaded which is a splendidly appealing strategy, but What's more, it suggests you will get inadequate which many people disregard." You can waste countless numbers on programs and systems - At one absolutely free unfold-betting seminar I attended we ended up over strongly encouraged to enroll in a two-day weekend program educating us tips on how to unfold bet successfully. This could Typically Price (we were being informed) £six,995, but there was a Unique offer you for the main 5 individuals to enroll of only £1,997. There are many these kinds of classes and likewise gurus supplying to market you their Distinctive spread-betting methods, guides, webinars and all kinds of other information. With a lot of meant authorities apparently earning a living instructing Many others tips on how to spread bet, there needs to be many takers. But I've identified that each one you need to know and even more is obtainable cost-free online. As a single specialist stated, 'Don't bother squandering your hard earned money on 'Guru' textbooks created by so-identified as gurus. People publications are crap and not worth the paper These are printed on. No person sells a mystery investing methodology If they're truly successful. The only cause these guys are creating books is since they didn't enable it to be as traders'. It's the bobbing about that beats you - We often hear to the information that the cost of gold has risen by a few bucks an ounce or the FTSE has fallen by a hundred and thirty points or the pound has risen by two cents versus the greenback. These reviews make value improvements on economical instruments audio like easy movements either up or down. However, the costs of shares, stock markets, commodities and currencies rarely shift in straight strains. They soar about just about every several seconds. So, In case the FTSE is at 5540 and you also effectively wager £fifty a pip that it will go approximately 5545 you may not automatically gain £two hundred. Between going from 5540 to 5545, it'd drop down a few instances to say 5535 or lower. When you have a cease loss on at 5536 or 5535 to prevent getting rid of excessive funds, your quit loss will kick in and you may drop £250 or £three hundred although the index did subsequently move upwards as you predicted. I have placed about 100 bets to check regardless of whether I won when my bets had been right. On about eighty for each cent I misplaced Regardless of staying correct because the fluctuations activated the quit losses Though the index did truly shift from in which it had been to where by I predicted it could go. This produces a alternatively odd problem where by halt losses can sadly make you lose even when you need to be successful. Still if you do not put halt losses on and things go in the incorrect route, your losses can annihilate you.
