I think this post by @aurorabyler has clarified at least one reason why the Mike Monologue felt so weird to me. I’d have to see an edit with this done to be sure, but I genuinely think that the monologue would have felt almost totally acceptable if it had focused on flashbacks instead of on his face. It feels like we shouldn’t be seeing him say this stuff. It feels like they should be montaging some good memories, and there are plenty they could pull out, but they just don’t! It’s almost entirely Mike’s terrified face intercut with El, Will, and Jonathan's equally terrified faces. Instead of feeling lovely and big and important, it feels like everyone is waiting in a panic to see if it’ll work. It doesn’t feel like a love confession. It feels like trying a key in a lock when you don’t know if it’ll fit or not.

Armin Alert had the same suspicions about Annie Leonhardt as you did. Erwin couldn't ignore that: two of his soldiers, one more intelligent than the other, were accusing one of their comrades. This, and the fact that he believes in your unusual talent, has made Erwin Smith, 13th Commander of the Survey Corps, decide to plan the Assault on Stohess. The other problem is the cadets of the 104th Division. If it turns out that Cadet Leonhardt is indeed the traitor, there is a good chance that at least two other cadets are as well. Which is why he sent them to wall Rose under the supervision of none other than Section Commander Mike Zacharias. Not just to watch them, but to watch you too. Erwin wouldn't say it out loud, but he thinks you're suspicious. While he doesn't think you're lying about your memory loss and visions, after what happened to you on the expedition it would be idiotic not to.
Sure, the signs point to you being from wall Maria, maybe Shiganshina, but what if those were other visions of yours? He has reasons to believe you're not from here, it's the way you talk about certain things, like the ocean. Not many have heard of it, it's an unspoken concept that few seem to know about. Like his own father. In the end, it was that knowledge that killed him. He overheard you talking about it once with the Arlert boy, and while the Cadet's eyes were bright with hope, yours were filled with knowledge. You knew it existed, you saw it, and you don't remember it. He has more reason to believe you are from outside the walls. He remembers it clearly, it was the first time the two of you spoke, and he felt a little strange about that particular phrase at the time. "What if I'm from outside your walls?" He had soldiers with memory loss, but none of them would go so far as to lose that kind of memory. Another thing that made even Mike question you was when you said "I think I left school when I was 14". If you really were from wall Maria, there was no way you could have stayed in school until you were 14. The maximum age is 12, only kids from Sina have the luxury of staying longer. And you can't be from Sina, because if you were, someone would have reported you missing. The only others who know his thoughts are Levi, Hange and Mike, which is why he placed you in one of their squads.
He knows that using Mike to bait you is technically considered unethical, but Erwin has the greater good in the picture and if that included exploiting you for humanity to gain freedom he wouldn't care. It's as simple as that. Plus, he feels better about the fact that Mike does have an affection for you and has taken a liking to your gentle nature. Gentle not in the way you talk, you certainly speak your mind when needed, but rather how you treat yourself and others. Or the way you took care of your gear and uniform. He's surprised that Levi hasn't noticed your love for perfection, perhaps his dislike for you has blinded his sharp senses, or so he likes to believe. Erwin looks from the window of the office to Levi, their eyes meeting in the middle. The Commander can't help but to wonder if Levi truly feels nothing but disdain for you, he has seen the way his Captain looked at you, full of longing and obsession.
"What is it?" Levi asks, his arms crossed defensively, and his eyebrows raised.
"Faye told me the outcome of today's events. We're going to capture the female titan." He finally says, revealing a piece of information he hasn't shared with anyone yet.
"So that's why you were so positive." Levi looks at him with a bit of mockery, his lips curled into a tight smile.
"I know you like to gamble, but taking such a big risk just because the girl you fancy has dreamed of it is ridiculous." Erwin winces at the harsh words and gives his comrade a hard look.
"I don't fancy her." Erwin explains in a gruff voice as he frowns at the accusation.
"But Mike does. Would you turn a blind eye if I took a cadet as a plaything for myself?" Levi asks provocatively, something in his eyes glimmering with a hint of jealousy. Erwin tries to keep his composure, smiling instead of frowning at the question.
"Why? Are you interested in someone in particular?" He asks, a dark glint in his blue eyes as he sees Levi look away, ashamed, even uncomfortable.
"Tch. Don't be ridiculous." He spits in disgust, as if it wasn't natural for a human to want the affection and love of another. The conversation ends there, leaving Levi deep in thought. "Is there someone out there?" he wonders as he leaves the office, groaning in pain as he takes another step.
You giggle as Mike pulls you through the empty corridors, a grin on his own face. You've been in the small HQ outpost for two days and it's been nothing but boring. At least you had a chance to meet up with your reunited comrades from the trainee corps and chat with them about what has happened so far. Reiner, who's been most interested in your visions, has been asking you about them incessantly; you thought it was because he's afraid of a possible tragic outcome. Your Section Commander also felt a bit bored, although they all deserved a break after the expedition, and if observing them was the only condition for that, then so be it.
"But Section Commander, we-" you cry as he pulls you into his chest, hugging you against him as he leans his body against the wall.
"Quiet. You don't want them to hear us, do you?" He tilts his head, looking down at you with a mocking smile.
"No. But..." he doesn't let you finish, taking your chin between his fingers and pulls you into a heated kiss, his eyes closed while yours are still open in surprise, though you quickly melt into his touch, enjoying the intimate moment. He turns his body, changing the position to suit him as your back is pressed against the wall, his hips hungrily grinding down your torso with ease. The way Mike's lips leave yours, only to plant themselves on your neck seconds later, makes you shiver, a hot sensation consuming your stomach as you respond with a breathless sound. You are so lost in the moment of pleasure that you almost forget the whole situation. This scenario is strangely familiar, but not in a good way. "Has Mike ever touched me like this before?" You ask yourself, a frown slowly taking over your features as your senses begin to pull you back. 'Was it one of my dreams? The amusement quickly fades as a sickening realization rips you completely out of the moment and makes you push your Section Commander away.
Mike Zacharias opens his eyes in a drunken haze as he notices your frightened expression.
"Are you okay?" He asks worriedly, wondering if he has overstepped your boundaries without realizing it. But something about your expression has him in a stranglehold. The way your eyes fill with tears frightens him a little too, as he takes a step back, his heart aching at the sight of you.
"Titans." Is the only thing that leaves your lips, making him raise an eyebrow.
"Titans?" Zacharias repeats, confused as to why you thought of them now. He's patient, but still a little worried, there must be something wrong, maybe another vision.
"They will breach the walls." You both know it's true, he's learnt to trust your visions by now, that's why he pulls himself together so quickly, his face darkening at the information.
"When?" Your Section Commander demands to know, ready to die if necessary.
"Any time. But Mike..." You try to grab his hand as he turns to leave, feeling it slip from your fingers. It's almost as if his life is passing through them and you can't stop it, can't do anything about it.
"No wait..." Running after him is almost impossible, his long legs carrying him through the corridors leading up to the Watchtower. This time I'll be faster than fate,' you promise yourself, running up the stairs after him. This time I'll outrun it.
Running up the stairs, you finally catch up with him, his eyes staring into the distance as if trying to make out the shape of something. The wind blows around them as he smells it, the glare deepening.
"What is it, Mike?" Nanaba asks, curious at the sudden appearance of her Section Commander.
"Thomas, ride out of here. Take three couriers and Faye with you. Inform the districts, Wall Rose has been breached." Nanaba gasps and looks at Faye with a mixture of shock and disbelief, clearly suspecting her visions.
"The chances of Titans hiding in the 104th Cadet Corps are slim." He mumbles, clenching his hand into a fist as he turns his head towards you and stares at you in despair.
"Go with Thomas. It's not safe here." Mike's voice is harsh as he pushes you and stares at you, making you take a cautious step down.
"Mike, no, you'll get away if I don't..." He cringes as he takes your shoulders and looks down at you.
"And so will you if you stay here." His voice is hushed as his bullets move from you to your comrade.
"Take her to Erwin, guard her with your life." Thomas salutes, taking you by the wrist as he leads you to the fly, tears running down her cheeks as she catches her breath.
"Please Thomas, Mike will die if you don't let me help him." You plead with the older soldier, trying to pull your wrist from his tight grip. He stops for a second, his eyes fixed straight ahead.
"No. I have orders." He breathes, a stressed expression on his face as you both reach the stable. Even the horses seem troubled, as if they feel the presence of death approaching. You understand why Thomas is afraid, but you don't blame him. Perhaps you could trick him and turn back before he notices. You put the brown leather saddle on your horses' backs and quickly lead them out of the stable, following your comrade.
"Stay calm, Sonne." You say, stroking her white hair, hoping to calm her a little. On your first expedition, Sonne was accidentally hit by a smoke grenade. That encounter must have frightened your horse a little, seeing how she reacts to the Titans in the distance.
As you leave the wooden stables, your comrades and friends from the 104th enter, and you can see from their faces that they must have been informed of the breach.
"Faye!" Sasha cries, running to grab your shoulder and shake you.
"Please tell me I'm not going to die!" Her voice is loud and obviously frightened, her brown eyes wide as she tightens her grip. You smile reassuringly, pretty sure you haven't seen her die before.
"No, don't worry -" the next person to barricade you is Connie, pulling on your arm in panic.
"What about me?" You'd like to answer all these questions, but now is not the time. It takes both Reiner and Thomas to free you from their grasp, an overwhelming feeling in your gut at the whole situation.

"Good luck, guys." You wave after them and hop onto Sonne's back, relying on Thomas to lead the way. It would take the two of you 12 hours to get to Stohess District, and considering you have to inform all the other districts on the way, it would probably take another hour. You'll arrive late in the evening, by which time the assault on said district will be over and Erwin will most likely face the consequences. You have to be quick; you know. But when you turn your head, you see the first abnormal titans arriving, the cadets fleeing from them while Mike distracts them. Your heart sank and you glanced at Thomas, concentrating as he rode forward, not daring to look back. The flash of images of a torn Mike makes you jump and in a heartbeat, you decide to turn around and order Sonne towards the scout outpost. Thomas notices and curses under his breath, cursing you but not following you; the lives and fates of thousands of people. As a soldier, it's his duty to weigh up whose soul is most worth saving, and for Thomas, yours or Mike's isn't worth as much as half the population, you understand.
On your way to help your Section Commander, you notice a particular Titan, one that looks like an ape, covered in brown fur. He's lanky and tall, with long arms and a bored expression. You've seen this one before in your dreams, and he's definitely not good news. He's intelligent, you know that much, but what you're not so sure about is his role in this whole ordeal, you've seen the human inside this monster, a man with blond hair and a beard, tall and arrogant. You didn't expect him to be here so soon, which surprises you a little and makes you wonder how quickly your other visions will come true. You look away from him to see a horse riding in Mike's direction, still standing on the roof, oblivious to you, his eyes fixed on the beast like a titan, worried by its sudden appearance. It's as if it had appeared out of nowhere. Noticing the Titan's long arm reaching for Mike's horse, a surprised yelp escapes your lips and you urge Sonne to ride faster.
The next thing happening is over in mere seconds, but to you it feels like an eternity. Mike's horse is lifted by the beast and thrown onto the roof, where he stands with a shocked expression on his face, his body frozen in surprise. He pulls his blade from his belt and screams something you can't make out. All you can see is his now dead horse flying in his direction, blood splattering like rain all over you. The stallion's corpse hits Mike, causing him to fall from the roof straight onto the ugly, small creature below him. You scream and grab the controls of your own gear, standing up slightly in your saddle, aiming the anchors at the house where your Section Commander and lover was standing a moment ago and swinging from Sonne, pulling your wielded blade from its sheaths to aim at the titan's neck. Mike's painful screams mingle with yours as the crippled titan bites down, breaking skin and bone.
Before you can reach it and kill it, something pulls you back by the wires of your equipment, causing you to lose control of the ODM. Wiggling in the air, you scream as you spin around to see the ape visaged titan kneeling, your wires squeezed between his fingers as he looks down at you as if you're nothing more than an insect. Adrenaline shoots through your body as you try to break free, but it's no use. Another painful scream draws your attention away from your hopeless situation and your tearful eyes land on the one man who tried to protect you.
"Mike!" You whimper as the titan bites down once more.
"They must not have heard me." At first, you don't quite understand where that strange, deep voice is coming from, but as you look carefully at the intelligent Titan, you realize that he is indeed the one speaking.
"I told you to wait." With that, he grabs the titan's abnormally large head and squeezes it with the simple pressure of his fingers. One of its eyes pops out of its socket and you feel a sickening sensation in your gut at the sight. Mike falls to the ground, legs limp as he holds his lower, bleeding abdomen. The beastly titan begins to playfully bounce you up and down on the string, which does nothing to alleviate your nausea.
"May I ask what you call your strange weapon?" You swallow and meet his eyes. While yours are tearful and filled with fear, his yellowish ones hold nothing but mockery.
"That thing at your waist that allows you to fly." He continues to explain his question.
"What the fuck?" You yell, staring at him in disbelief, as if he didn't just comment on the fact that the titan threw a fucking horse at Mike and left you hanging like a literal bug.
"That's not nice of you..." He speaks, adding a name that sounds familiar and yet so strange at the same time. Your eyes widen as you stare at him in surprise.
“That's not my name.” You blur out almost automatically, making the titan races a furry brow.
“Is it not? Well I figured you wouldn't remember it. Afterall, you did this to yourself, little dove.” Confused, you frown, wondering what he meant by that.
“That's right. You have no memories of that day.” He mocks and lays his attention back on Mike, expression unfazed at the shocked state he is in.
“I noticed you also use swords. Fascinating. Must mean you know that we reside in the nape. Did you tell them that?” The beast questions you, giving you a hard glare, like you are a traitor of some sort.
“I suppose I'll just take it back with me.” Declaring his decision, the titan reaches for Mike to take his damaged ODM from his hips, making humanity's second strongest soldier cower in fear.
“Please don't kill him.” You beg and yelp as he moves you over to the outposts roof, placing you on top of it. While you wiggle yourself free again and give him an desperate look, you take notice of Mike slowly standing up, blade in hand and furious expression plastered over his bruised face.
“You leave my Faye alone!” He screams out and points the blade at him in a demanding way. The ape looks surprised at the sudden will to fight.
“Faye? That's ironic. Tell me do you love that man?” Your eyes widen at the question, and you look from him to the soldier, nothing but pleading desire to save him in your heart.
“Yes.” You confess, your teary eyes never leaving Mike's.
“Hm. Then you leave me no choice.”
Feeling your heart stop beating, your eyes widen as four titans, that have been standing still like bystanders, start moving again, running towards Mike in a rush for blood lust. You are helplessly watching as the beast titan leaves, while his mindless puppets start ripping and biting at various parts of your Section Commander's body. Frozen in fear, soundless cries and pleads leave your lips and you close your eyes, not able to watch the gruesome death of your loved one. Your own ODM uselessly tangles around your legs, and you lean forward, covering your ears. Mike's screams are torture, a mixture of pain, fear and the realization of being completely powerless.
At some point his agonizing cries stopped and the last thing you hear is flesh being torn apart and bones being cracked in multiple pieces. Numb from pain, you turn around and await the titan’s presence closing in on you. Farley sure that the same fate will hit you, you let your eyes closed in hopes to ignore the death looming over you. A shiver runs down your spine as you make out movement behind you. “I couldn't save him.” You whisper and ball your hands into fists, preparing for your own death. But the titans simply ignore you and start wandering around freely, like you are not there.
"That's not my name." You blur almost automatically, making the titan race a furry brow.
"Isn't it? Well, I figured you wouldn't remember. After all, you did it to yourself, little dove." Confused, you frown, wondering what he meant.
"That's right. You have no memory of that day." He mocks and turns his attention back to Mike, his expression unaffected by the shocked state he is in.
"I noticed you use swords too. Fascinating. Must mean you know we live in the neck. Did you tell them that?" The beast questions you, giving you a hard look, as if you were some kind of traitor.
"I suppose I'll just take them back." Declaring his decision, the titan reaches for Mike and pulls his damaged ODM from his hips, causing humanity's second strongest soldier to cower in fear.
"Please don't kill him." You beg and scream as he moves you to the roof of the outpost and sets you on it. As you wriggle free and give him a desperate look, you notice Mike slowly standing up, blade in hand, an angry expression plastered across his bruised face.
"You leave my Faye alone!" He shouts, pointing the blade at him. The ape looks surprised at the sudden will to fight.
"Faye? That's ironic. Tell me, do you love this man?" Your eyes widen at the question, and you look from him to the soldier, nothing but a pleading desire to save him in your heart.
"Yes." You confess, your wet eyes never leaving Mike's.
"Hm. Then you leave me no choice."
Feeling your heart stop beating, your eyes widen as four titans, who had been standing still like spectators, begin to move again, running towards Mike in a frenzy of bloodlust. You watch helplessly as the Beast Titan walks away while his mindless puppets begin to tear and bite at various parts of your Section Commander's body. Frozen with fear, mute cries and pleas escape your lips and you close your eyes, unable to watch your loved one's gruesome death. Your own ODM tangles uselessly around your legs, and you lean forward to cover your ears. Mike's screams are torture, a mixture of pain, fear and the realization that he is completely powerless.
Eventually his agonising screams stop and the last thing you hear is the sound of flesh being torn apart and bones being shattered. Numb with pain, you turn around and wait for the titans to close in on you. Sure, that the same fate will befall you, you close your eyes, hoping to ignore the death looming over you. A shiver runs down your spine as you make out movement behind you. "I couldn't save him." You whisper, clenching your hands in preparation for your own death. But the titans just ignore you and start walking around freely, as if you were not there.
You'd like to scream and kill those idiotic, murderous monsters, but all you can do is numbly climb down the roof, past the bloodied titans and straight to Mike's remains. The sight catches you off guard, and you feel dizzy as you see his torn limbs splattered across the ground, covered in blood. Mike deserves a proper burial, and you'll make sure you find the most beautiful cherry tree in the area to lay him to rest.
Erwin is standing in his grant office overlooking his soldiers after the semi-successful capture of Annie Leonhardt this morning. With him are his trusted Captain and Karl, a soldier and informant from his own squad. The Commander sent for Levi to talk about his health, which he quickly dismissed. After his injury, Erwin decided it was best for him to rest and leave Mike in charge of the new cadets. "I spoke to Hange." Levi rolled his eyes absently, as if it were impossible to have a normal, successful conversation with them.
"Apparently Leonhardt isn't going to give up this shit anytime soon." The Captain explains, crossing his arms as he waits for Erwin's reaction.
"I see." He only replies by picking up his glass of golden liquor, but before he can enjoy the burning taste of whisky on his tongue, the door to his office is thrown open. He doesn't usually take well to unannounced distributions, but this time is different.
His soldier gasps at your side, standing in the doorway covered in blood. Your expression is dead, unrecognizable from the usual sparkle in your eyes.
"Wall Rose has been breached." You explain numbly, as if you were in some kind of trance, causing Levi to turn around in surprise, presumably to face you. His lips open and close at your sight, unable to recognize you under all the blood and dirt.
"The cadets of the 104th are most likely not involved, they are looking for the hole in the wall." You begin, your right hand on your heart, your left crossed behind your back.
"Thomas, the first messenger was eaten by a titan shortly after his leave and Section Commander Mike..." your cool demeanor changes as your eyes tangle with Levi's, your voice hollow as you begin to stutter.
"Section Commander Mike is dead."

The Curious Case of The Dead Wheeler Granny
Also known as: I need to make a cohesive post that actually has context so i can add it to the ✨ master post ✨. So basically if you already know, you know. idk.
So... recently have been thinking A Lot about weird "production errors" (tm) and creel home fuckery + wheeler parallels. Its no secret that there are Many references to the creel home in the wheeler home for whatever reason, from the piano to the wedding dress to even the clock chimes (?) close to the the door way of the wheeler home.
However one of the most fascinating Choices was when the main urn that sat on the wheeler mantle place since s1 suddenly changed to a completely different urn during the convergence of the four gates at the climax of s4. What was the reason for this? It's also no secret that ST is riddled with what we can call "intentional" errors in objects, peoples positions, etc etc. But why a seemingly random object that has been sitting in the background of the home for 4 seasons w/o any special attention? And why at the important climax of the season?
Season 1
Tumblr media
Season 4- before the climax
Tumblr media
Season 4- after the climax
Tumblr media
(and this isnt even to mention the fact that the wheeler dining room is covered in rose vases that mimic the OG urn)
If you reference this back to the mantle place in the Creel home... there is something quite interesting:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A few little trinkets, weirdly placed and evenly spread out. There is a little bird (dove?) statue like how the wheelers have two geese statues sitting on their mantle place. Next to that though? A strange looking golden vase. Mind you, this is happened when Virginia is having her "holding up the mirror" moment. As in this mirror is right there reflecting Virginia and this little urn-looking vase trinket and the rose-y wallpaper behind her (which is interesting given that the OG urn has pink roses on it with a framed picture of pink roses next to it).
Put the Virginia relation in your back pocket for now. Lets go up to the stuff in the Creel attic, which are heavily referenced in the wheeler home, in particular the wedding dress:
Tumblr media
Where has have we seen a piece of a brides clothing in s4? In Suzie's home, where her sister Tabitha is wearing a wedding veil, and you guess it, a pink floral (roses? Honestly the color scheme is very similar to the creel wallpaper mentioned above) dress:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In which Tabitha pretends to die. She's not really dying. The joke here is that Tabitha's father had thought she was dying though ("it looked genuine"). And oh... is that the edge of a grandfather clock I see right outside the doorway framed right there this scene?
If I was extra weird about it I could also point out that the letter blocks on Tabitha's bracelet kind of spell out (M?)AMA. But its super blurry and I cant get a good shot of it so take this with a grain of salt:
Tumblr media
A little sprinkle of Petergate here but Tabitha is a woman who was raised from the dead by Saint Peter:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which I mean... If we're going to talk about lying about moms dying? The "Nanas got cancer" gag in s3 in which... Hopper lies about Mikes Nana being sick but then goes onto say:
Tumblr media
There's nothing wrong with Nana
Mike then proceeds to repeatedly call him a liar. So... nothing's wrong with Nana? Would that explain the weird trend of people specifically lying over the phone about having a sick family member also in s3/s4?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(credit: screenshots from this @/heroesbyler post - unrelated to this theory, I just think its neat)
And if we're talking about lies:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(oh holly girl... wearing that pink + white outfit and that rose shirt lmao)
And of course: Papa lies.
(don't even get me started on how the grandfather clock most likely represents Brenner ("maybe hes a clock maker?" and s4 literally starting with Brenner setting a timer))
But this begs the question... If, by all accounts, nothing is wrong with Nana, so much so it would be like she was raised from the dead, then who's ashes do the Wheeler's have on their mantle place thinking that its their granny?
Could it be, thinking back to the weird trinket on front of the mirror in the Creel home, Virginia's ashes instead? Quick question, where exactly are Virginia and Alice buried? Did Victor get a say in his wife's funeral arrangements?
And if Nana Wheeler's death was a lie designed to conceal a truth and Papa lies... ah who am i kidding it was martin brenner. it was fucking brenner who else would do some weird shit like this. it was him.
Anyways things like this really make me question why exactly the Wheelers are one of two main families in the show. As far as I know they didn't do much in TFS, so hell, why not Patty? Bob? The Sin Claires?
Regardless, I would really like them to be kind and rewind back to whatever is going on here if you know what I mean

okay i love the wheelers. so much. i want to make that very clear. but i feel like it was VERY much intentional that we can compare their family dynamic to the byers family dynamic and see the sheer differences between them.
the wheelers are clearly very well off, with little to no communication within the family; while the byers are poor and are very close with good communication.
nancy and mike interact very little onscreen, and when they do, they’re usually arguing.  not that that’s abnormal for siblings - it’s not - but when you compare that to will, jonathan, and el’s relationship? hm.
will, jonathan, and el have interacted a lot together onscreen.  mike, nancy, and holly almost never do. i think there’s like. 1 instance in s2 where mike talks to holly, and that’s it.
additionally, there’s also very little physical affection between the wheeler siblings; we LITERALLY see, at the end of s4, joyce hugging her sons while nancy and mike stand and...watch?? now, before you come after me, i’m not saying they don’t care about each other - they do.  but they’ve clearly grown accustomed to just. not being affectionate, and hmmm smth smth conformity smth smth lying smth smth trying to look as normal as possible -
joyce is hardworking, determined, and very aware of what’s going on with the ud.  while yes, this is mainly due to will going missing in s1, karen could’ve also easily figured out what is going on (hell, her son literally hid a child in the basement for a week) but she didn’t.  she consciously ignored it - i say consciously because in s3, holly was pointing out the trees very obviously moving and karen just told her to “look at the fireworks”.  which begs the question - does karen actually know some of what’s going on, but is just choosing to ignore it? if this is true, in s5, karen is going to be forced to become aware of the ud, because it’s quite literally destroying her hometown.
we’ve also seen joyce act affectionate towards her kids; hugging them, kissing their heads, etc etc. when have we seen karen do that? VERY little, especially in later seasons.  i think the most emotional we’ve seen her get is with nancy in s3, after nancy gets fired (that whole scene honestly had a lot to unpack about karen’s character, which i will maybe make another post about).
bottom line: just. the fact that these two families pop up the most in the series is SO telling.  we are meant to compare them. we are meant to notice the very obvious differences in their dynamics and how it affects nancy, mike, and karen in particular.  and something tells me this is going to come into play in s5.  wheelers i am keeping you in a little terrarium and watching you scurry around

They’re hanging out on the roof, Bill’s ankle knocking against Richie’s knocking against Bill’s knocking against Richie’s knocking against Bill’s, over and over and over, feeling as endless as the summer does on a day like that, middle of August and not a cloud in the sky, when Richie says, “I kissed Eddie last night.”
He says it casually, like it’s just the kind of thing anyone does, and not the kind of earth-shaking moment Bill’s kind of always known Richie dreamed of doing but would never have bet on coming true.
“I,” Bill says, then regroups. “What?”
“C’mon, Big Bill, don’t tell me all that growing went to your bones and skipped your brain,” Richie jibes, but it’s good-natured. He sounds so calm. Too calm.
Maybe that’s it. Maybe he’s so scared he’s come around to calm. It wouldn’t be the first time it’s happened to someone, wouldn’t be the first time Bill’s seen it. He’s never seen it happen to Richie, not that he can remember, but that’s maybe because Richie has always run on bravado more than this particular brand of bravery.
Bill can remember feeling like this, so fucking scared that it made him brave again, and he’s seen it in Mike’s eyes too. Bev and Ben’s sometimes, though Bev usually doesn’t like to let anything that gets to her show, and Ben’s heart tends towards taking whatever he’s given more than turning it into something that helps him stand stronger. Which isn’t a bad thing or a good thing, it’s just a thing, and it makes Bill want to pull him on the back of Silver sometimes, like it’ll help him remember he’s important too.
Stan gets quiet, and then he gets loud, at least by his standards. It’s not really the same for him, Bill thinks. When he’s scared for his friends, his voice gets stronger and weaker at the same time, like he’s building it back up but he’s building it up with broken parts, making a fractured foundation. It’ll hold, but eventually it’s gotta give. And then when he’s scared about other things, things that don’t make sense, he gets almost angry, like – like how dare that exist, how dare it have the audacity to creep into his head when it doesn’t make sense.
Sometimes Eddie’s like that, but mostly he’s the first type. Sometimes he gets so scared that he forgets he’s scared at all, brave and determined and terrified out of his fucking mind, so much so that he doesn’t even register it.
If Richie kissed him, maybe that’s why he’s feeling like it. Like… Eddie’s probably the bravest person Bill knows, if he thinks about it real hard, and he’s got so much of it in him that maybe it makes sense that some of it ended up in Richie too when they kissed.
That’s probably not how it works—Bill wouldn’t know, he’s only kissed Bev, and Mike, one time, with his warm eyes and warm hands and warm lips, on a dare from Richie that made his pulse skitter off-beat, and Bill’s not as brave as Eddie because he’s never let himself work out why—but it’s all he can think about as he sits there on the roof of Richie’s house and listens, and listens, and listens.
“It was nice,” Richie says after a moment, nonchalant and earnest at the same time, and Bill thinks, huh.
Bill thinks, this is how he sounds when he’s lying and being honest at the same time.
Bill thinks, this is how he sounds when he means it.
Bill says, “Wow,” instead of saying any of that. Then, eyes on their ankles instead of on Richie’s face, like he’s worried Richie might get spooked and fall off the roof, he adds, “Good, uh, good for you.”
A pause, then: “What did Eddie say? Or do?”
Richie looks out into the sky, into the sunlight, a million miles away or maybe just a few hours, the space between now and last night, between that kiss, that moment.
“He stomped on my foot,” Richie says, grinning a little, and it takes Bill so completely by surprise that he snorts.
“He what?” he asks, incredulous.
Richie glances at him, eyes blown wide by his glasses and maybe a little by Eddie Kaspbrak. He’s smiling, that toothy thing that comes out when he’s relieved or when he’s happy or when school finishes and the summer starts. When he feels free, maybe.
“He stomped on my foot,” Richie repeats. Then, smiling in a way that kind of hurts to look at, he says, a little softer, “And then he kissed me back.”

Part 24 - Sy
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Series Masterlist
Part 23 -- Part 25
Tumblr media
Pairing: Sy x trans!ofc (Alicia)
Summary: The guys throw a New Years Eve party at 179th Crescent Street...
Warnings: SMUT, NSFW, 18+, MINORS DNI, oral (m and f receiving), anal fingering (m receiving), an interesting case (if I do say so myself) of phone-moaning (look it up if you have to). Brief mention of transphobic parents and mention of (child) abuse.
ETA: PLEASE, if I missed any tags/warnings, let me know. (Always let me know, but let me know for this one in particular. It's way more likely I accidentally missed something that can be triggering for someone here.)
Word count: 3.6k
A/N: I'm on the verge of having a panic attack over posting this. Not because I think it's bad - I personally love this chapter - but because Sy is such a crowd favorite and I'm a little nervous about how this will be received. Also: Liz is the first trans character I've written at this point. So much research went into this, which is part of why I struggled with writing this so much. We're still horny on main, though, as always.
It's obviously a first for Sy, too, and he says some stupid shit - he also really likes this girl, which doesn't help with foot-in-mouth-disease, obviously. Bear with him, please.

Charles punched a guy. We’d all love to get through a night out - or in, apparently - without something like that happening, but it doesn’t seem to be in the cards for us. That said, I think he was right to do it, and if I’d been within arms reach of the guy, he’d have had me to deal with, too. Harassing Dani was wrong, but to do it right in front of our eyes… That’s just plain stupid. When everyone’s back to their business, I turn back to Alicia and watch her as she takes a sip of her beer.
“What?” she asks.
“Nothing,” I say. I huff quietly when I hear myself speak. Little too much emphasis on that ‘g’ at the end. I’m hiding my accent. I like this girl.
I first noticed it when I talked to Mike after the chaotic house meeting from a few days ago. I say ‘chaotic’, but it wasn’t exactly out of the ordinary for us. It’s not our fault! Who puts eight guys our age in a house and calls it a day? Anyway, he told me one of Dani’s roommates wanted to find out if Dani had been lying about my… Let’s go with ‘skills’. Apparently, the review was pretty good. Now, I’ve seen Sloane. She’s on the hockey team, and I normally wouldn’t dream of passing up an opportunity like that, but I just… Couldn’t care less, to be honest. And then Liz texted me and Mike caught me grinning at my phone like an idiot. Which he pointed out while also grinning like an idiot. And now here we are.
“Say that again,” she teases. Fuck, I’m busted. How about I don’t answer her, and just shake my head instead? Will that work? “I like the way you talk, Sy.”
There’s a hint of a drawl to her voice. It’s definitely subtle, but it’s there. At first I wonder if she’s messing with me, but when she asks where I’m from, I have my answer. She’s not mocking me, she’s from Georgia. Which my stepfather would say is even worse, but I stopped listening to him right around the time I turned six. The longer we talk, the clearer her accent becomes. Makes me wonder when she lost it. And why. Takes me a while longer than I care to admit to ask her that…
“My aunt from New York took me in when I was twelve,” she answers. “Parents kicked me out for… You know… What about you? What made you move away?” It doesn’t bother me that she doesn’t finish her sentence, because I have a perfectly good idea of what she would have said if she had. I feel like everybody would have known. When Mikey found out Liz and I were texting, he asked me if I knew. I told him I did. Then he asked me if I cared, and I told him I didn’t. I meant what I said.
“The short version is that I tried to hit ma’s scumbag boyfriend back, hit ma instead. Can’t come home unless I apologize to him. Which I ain’t gonna do.”
“Ouch, you win. More beer?” She’s on her way to the kitchen before I can even answer.
Now that I’ve got nothing else to do, I look around the room. Charles has disappeared - probably with Sloane - and Leon is still chatting up Ariel, Dani’s other roommate. They seem to know each other, which means she might be the same Ariel he always competes with to be first in his class. Marshall is up to something that involves Vivienne Chase. I know the type. We all do. I know Marshall has referred to her as a ‘puck bunny’ before. He seemed pretty annoyed by her at the time. Guess that’s over now. I don’t know what’s been bugging him, but it can’t be good. I reckon there’s an eighty percent chance that this ain’t the way to solve it, either, but it’s none of my business, and I’m gonna treat it that way.
Alicia and I play a few more rounds of horrible childhood bingo, until people around us start counting down. It’s a countdown to a first kiss I’m shockingly nervous about. Luckily, she’s braver than I am, putting her bottle down while reaching for mine. Then, when that’s put to the side as well, pulling me closer to her by hooking her fingers into the pockets of my jeans. I expected to not have to lower my head: she’s nearly six feet tall. What I didn’t expect was that I’d be looking up slightly. She’s wearing heels, too, fucking hell. It takes everything I’ve got to keep with a certain level of decency. Yes, practically everyone in this room is doing the same thing I am, but that don’t mean… Alright, she doesn't seem to care about propriety half as much as I do.
“I’ve got a perfectly nice room upstairs, with a lot less prying eyes.” Why am I not surprised she’s coming with me?
Tumblr media
Goddamn, this girl can kiss. I’m already dizzy, and something just tells me I ain’t seen nothing yet. The way she’s clawing at my back makes me think she likes it rough. I don’t mind it one bit: I ain’t exactly built to be gentle. She moans loudly when I pin her against the door. Her dress was already creeping up her thighs when I walked her upstairs, but is now only inches away from exposing that gorgeous ass completely - I didn’t let her go first on the stairs for no goddamn reason, and now that we’re in private, whatever fabric stands between me and that ass is frustrating me to no end.
“Hm, eager,” she chuckles as my hands push her dress up further. I groan as she makes a point of grinding her hips against mine.
“Well, you’re a hot piece of ass, so…” She laughs when I pull her away from the door, towards my bed.
That dress comes off easily, but not before she pulls my shirt over my head. That look in her eyes as they glide over my chest, the way she takes her bottom lip in between her teeth… This chick is driving me fucking nuts. I enjoy the way she looks at me for a while too long, apparently, because she reaches behind her back to undo her bra and tosses it aside. Now it’s my turn to stare and her turn to revel in the attention. ‘Great tits.’ That’s it. That’s the only thought I have. Anything else, my brain just refuses to process - like the ringing of her phone, which I hear faintly in the background somewhere. The only reason I know I’m not making it up, is because I watch her pull it out of the purse she dropped next to my bed, and hang up on whoever is on the other end. Other than that faint notion, that rack is really my whole world right now. Fucking magnetic. I mean it. It’s as if gravity in this room has somehow shifted, and everything is now pulled towards her chest. Alright, maybe not everything, but God knows I am, for sure.
The few quick kisses on her neck are out of a kind of twisted courtesy - pure pretense, to separate myself from a fucking caveman by a hair or two. As much as I hate to admit it, all I really want right now is to get more closely acquainted with these boobs. They’re far from the biggest I’ve ever seen. I wouldn’t say they’re the nicest, either - although they’re definitely up there. But, damn, I’d be lying if I said there had ever been a pair I’d been more curious about. I have a strong feeling she won’t appreciate it if I say something about that, but unfortunately there just ain’t enough blood going to my brain right now for me to think straight…
“Can’t believe these are fake.” Once I realize what I’ve said, I look up at her like a deer in headlights.
“No worries, you’re good,” Alicia laughs when she sees my face. “I mean… They are fake.”
“How ‘bout I just try ‘n’ keep quiet from now on?” It’s gonna be tough, but I wouldn’t forgive myself if I accidentally say something really stupid and ruin this.
“Oh no. They say you’ve got a dirty mouth. I wanna hear it.” That’s all good ‘n' well, but I’m gonna keep my mouth otherwise occupied for the time being. I sincerely hope she won’t mind.
My nerves about saying something stupid end up on the back burner when her phone rings again. I fucking hope it's a protective friend or something.
"Jesus, who keeps callin' ya?" This is the third time in ten minutes. I gave it a pass the first two, but now… Why doesn’t she turn the damn thing off?
"My ex," she groans. Not what a man wants to hear, honestly. The phone stops buzzing for a minute, and then it picks up right where it left off with call number four. The good news is that she seems as annoyed as I am. The bad news is that continuous phone calls from the ex of the girl you're trying to nail are a really effective boner killer. Liz sighs and hangs up again, while I give up on trying to ignore this issue.
"Bad breakup?" I ask lightly, barely taking my lips off her skin. I'm fixing to get as much quality time with these tits as I possibly can, ex be damned.
"The worst," she groans. "She cheated." There's two words in that sentence, and I have no clue which one confuses me more.
"Cheated? On you? Now that's just stupid." She laughs in reply - a sound that turns into a moan when I bite down on her nipple.
I’m a little disappointed when one of her hands reaches for my chin and pulls me back up. I was having a great time! Must’ve looked sad, too, because she laughs and looks at me with feigned pity in her eyes before kissing me. I wonder if that’s the only great way she has to cheer me up… My hands continue their exploration. It’s almost impossible to move on from her boobs, but I eventually make it further down, and my hand finds its way between her legs. Hm.
"Sy," Liz has clearly picked up on my… surprise? Is that the right word? It's a good thing there’s a hint of a chuckle to her voice, because I'm just confused at this point.
"Yeah?"
"This vagina was brought to you by the wonders of modern medicine. Doesn't get as wet as you’re probably used to." That actually explains a lot - and nowhere near enough. It sounds like lube would fix most of that problem, and I have some, so we’re good there. Thing is: it tastes horrible. Luckily, Liz manages to solve my dilemma before my indecisiveness really gets to me.
“I’ve heard too many good things about that allegedly incredible head game of yours,” she says coyly. I chuckle as a grin spreads on my face. Knowing her expectations are high should probably make me more nervous than I already am, but it doesn’t. I know what the girls I’ve been with say about me, and I take pride in that particular skill. Does that make me a cocky jerk sometimes? Absolutely. They don’t seem to care when they’re screaming my name, so why should I?
I kiss my way down Alicia’s body. Slowly. I may be impatient but I enjoy teasing ‘em a little too much to skip that part… She clearly disagrees, trying everything in her power to push me down faster. It’s cute, and it makes me laugh.
“Ain’t gonna work, sugar,” I say in between kisses pressed to her stomach. “The more you try, the longer I’m gonna drag this out. Be good for me, okay?” She agrees - reluctantly - meaning I can continue my journey south.
Not being able to use my hands is going to be a challenge. One I’ll gladly accept, that’s for sure, but a challenge nonetheless. It takes me a minute to find something she likes. Thank God she’s not shy! Actually, she’s pretty loud, which is fantastic. I love a woman who just offers up the intel on what she likes unprompted. Makes me look like I know what I’m doing, because… well… I’ll know what I’m doing. She’s all moans and whimpers and ‘right there’-s and breaths hitching as my fingertips dig into her hips. Her hand is on the back of my head, pulling me closer to her… I can’t wipe this smug grin off my face - she’s gonna cum in no time.
Tumblr media
Fuck! That goddamn phone again! I stop what I’m doing, raise myself up on my elbows and look at Liz.
“Pick up the phone,” I growl. I’m done with this bullshit.
“What?” Liz asks me, slightly dazed. I understand her confusion, but I’m seriously over this.
“Pick up the goddamn phone,” I repeat. My grin widens as I watch Alicia accept the call and put the phone to her ear.
“Kelly. Hi," she says. She’s clearly not happy to even speak to her. Doesn’t matter. I’m gonna try my best to make this the best phone call they ever had. I can’t help but chuckle as my mouth finds its way back to where it was a minute ago, and goes right back to doing exactly what it was doing before we were so rudely interrupted. When I look up, Alicia stares back at me, eyes wide with shock, begging me… to keep going.
“Eh, no. I - ah - I’m not home.” She’s trying hard to keep her voice steady, I’m trying hard to break her. Neither of us have it easy right now. And ultimately we’re both still playing for the same side.
“Why do you even give a - fuck!” Honestly? Nice timing. Kelly’s voice - which I can barely make out from where I am - starts to sound more agitated. Apparently, the answer to that question is a long one, because Kelly keeps talking for a while. That gives me just the right amount of time to really drive Liz nuts.
“It’s literally - hng - none of your business - hmm - what I’m doing,” Liz suddenly snaps. “Or who I’m doing.” I almost choke on my own spit when she adds that last bit.
“Because we broke up, remember? Jesus.” There’s no way she can last long now.
“Kelly, seriously, stop bothering m-oh my god, Sy!” It’s a good thing she can’t see my face, because I’m grinning like crazy.
“That was fun,” I tease when I lie down next to her again. “Turn that thing off.”
“I doubt she’ll be calling back,” Alicia says, but she turns her phone off anyway before turning to me. “You really are as good as they say.”
It’s a reputation I never asked for, but I can’t say I mind having it. And I certainly don’t mind honing my craft, so to speak. Besides… most girls are willing to trade good head for good head - in my personal experience, at least. I can't complain about that.
Tumblr media
Her fingers leave goosebumps on my skin wherever they move - and they move absolutely everywhere but the place I actually want them in, while she kisses me fiercely. It’s far too easy to lose myself in her touch, especially when she finally does go where I need her most.
I’m prepared for the soft gasp I hear when she wraps her fingers around my cock - anything else there is to notice gets lost in the sensation of her lips all over my chest and abs as she makes her way down. Her tongue feels amazing as she slowly swirls it around the tip of my cock before taking me all the way down with no issues.
I'm staring. I know I am, and I don't give a damn. It's been a while since I've been this impressed with a girl's skills. Fuck me, she's good. Her eyes are on me the whole time she's down there, slobbering all over my dick - pardon my French - and I'm in absolute heaven. Until…
"Whoa!" Those fingers are headed directly where no man - or woman, for that matter - has gone before. Not on me, at least.
"What's the problem, Sy?"
I curse softly under my breath and pray Geralt isn't listening in. "I'd say somethin' along the lines of me not bein' used to a girl tryin'a stick a finger up my ass," I mumble. Judging from the grin on her face, she heard perfectly. She slowly climbs up until she's lying next to me again.
"I strongly recommend that you give it a try," she says in a sultry tone, with eyes that put 98 percent of pornstars to shame.
"Normally I'd ask ya why I should trust a girl on this," I sigh, "but I reckon you would know…"
"First-hand experience," she replies. I don't know what it is, but something about this is intriguing.
"Is it good?" I ask carefully. I'm not saying I will… just that… I might.
"Like you wouldn't believe," she purrs in my ear. That's it, I'm blaming her. It's her. She is impossible to resist.
"Alright, I'll bite," I say, and I can't believe my own ears. "I'll try it." She's made me fucking curious. Dammit. Oh well. If I don't like it, I don't ever gotta do it again, right?
Tumblr media
"Told ya," she grins. I'm still dizzy. That was hands down the best fucking orgasm of my entire life. Fucking hell. And there she is: smug smirk firm on her face, and soft lips torturing my earlobe.
"Gimme a break, sugar," I moan softly as I gently pull her head away from my face by her hair. She seems to like that.
"That good, huh?" Yeah, yeah, missy, you're awfully proud of yourself. Well… she's not wrong. It really was that good.
"Yeah," I sigh. "But why not go for the… more traditional…" What I want to know is why she didn't…
"You want to know why I didn't let you stick me." That would be one way of putting it, yes.
She takes a deep breath and looks at me.
“Cards on the table, Sy: There’s no way you’re gonna fit,” she says. Are my eyes deceiving me or does she look embarrassed by that?
“Alright, that explains that,” I say, pulling her into a hug.
“You’re not disappointed?” she asks, her voice as full of disbelief as the expression on her face. I shrug. Of course not! Why would I be?
“Nah.” It’s the truth, however hard that may be for her to believe. It’s not even the first time this has happened. You never know what the reaction is going to be when girls first find out what you’re blessed with. At this point, I’ve seen everything from nerves to sheer terror to excitement - sometimes on the same face, within the same minute. This ain’t nothing new to me. But it bothers her. And it bothers me that it bothers her.
“Hey,” I say as I put a finger under her chin and make her look at me, “I’m okay with it if we don’t have sex.” That’s not what I should have said, but I hope she doesn’t jump on it…
“We are having sex,” she says, one eyebrow raised. Fuck.
“Yeah… I know that. Sherlock pointed that out a few days ago, I’m just… I’m still… adjusting my vocabulary.” The grin on her face spreads slowly while I scramble for words, and I glare at her.
“I’m sorry, Sy, I shouldn’t be teasing you like this,” she laughs.
“No,” I reply, “you shouldn’t. You’ll have to make it up to me.”
“Well, there’s always anal,” she says. There’s no way she doesn’t actually hear the record-scratch in my brain. That whole thing came out a little too point-blank for her to be joking. I think. At the same time, I’m not even sure she said what I think she said. I have to have made that up, right? There’s no way…
“What?” I blurt out. And lo and behold: She repeats herself. There it is again. ‘There’s always anal.’ She really said that. Alright.
“Hold on… Your pussy can’t handle me, but your ass can?” I don’t mean to sound as surprised - or crude - as I do, but I can’t help it. This is very… counterintuitive to me. To say the least.
“The downside of designer pussy is that it doesn’t really… stretch easily,” she says softly. I can’t stop myself from letting out a chuckle when she says ‘designer pussy’ - two words I’d probably never expected to hear that close to one another.
“Hey, I’m not opposed to the idea,” I say. It would be another first for me. Definitely something I wouldn’t mind crossing off the list. But not tonight. Not after that blowjob - that's what we're gonna call it for now, I'm still getting comfortable with that other thing that happened. Not after that orgasm. Not after all those beers. She seems to understand perfectly.
"Do you want me to leave?" she asks. I look at her, completely confused.
"Literally not even one bit, darlin'. You're stayin' right here."

My thoughts on Stranger Things Season 4 finale:
spoilers
Those two episodes did NOT need to be as long as they were.  I mean I enjoyed it, but it felt overstuffed, and some scenes just dragged on.  The final “battle,” in particular, got ridiculous.  I know we’re meant to see all these events happening at the same time, probably in a matter of just a few minutes, but Steve, Robin and Nancy were getting strangled by vines for like 20 minutes.  It stretched on for so long that it started to lose impact.
I did not need to see Hopper decapitate a demogorgon with a sword just to prove what a badass he is.  He’s been proving his badassery the entire season.
Speaking of badass, way to go Nancy with a shotgun, and Joyce with a stunner.  You should have aimed for the head, Nancy.
Damn, I really thought Max was safe after the whole “Running up the hill” segment, I thought that was her climactic escape scene.  At least she’s still alive, for the moment.
Which is more than I can say for Eddie.  Goodnight, sweet rock-and-roll prince, flights of angels sing thee to thy totally bitchin’ rest.  It would have been nice to see him live, but there was just no way to see his name properly cleared.  He would have been screwed either way.
Lucas and Max, and Dustin and Eddie’s uncle absolutely broke my heart, the actors killed those scenes.
Meanwhile, Jason got a horrific death that the show barely lingered on, holy shit.  The rift melted him in half!  Jason was a very unlikable character, but honestly?  Without him knowing what the other characters know, I can understand why he thinks Hellfire are the bad guys.  His biggest crimes are being willing to threaten kids just for being connected to Eddie (although at this point, they are all in high school, so he is really threatening classmates - it doesn’t help that the actor looks much older than the “kids”).  If this was a movie shot from his perspective, knowing only what he knows, it would be easy to see the Hellfire club as the bad guys.  All that being said, though, I wasn’t sorry to see him go.
Also - Eddie is now the scapegoat for the murders, and presumed dead, but are the police not looking into anything about the other Hellfire club members?  I know it was mostly Jason’s idea and town hysteria, but how does Lucas explain Max’s injuries and what they were doing in the attic?  Does he just say that Max’s injuries, his own injuries and Jason’s death are from the earthquake?  I’m surprised the kids aren’t getting more interrogation.  Of course, this is the same series where unarmed civilians and children keep outsmarting Russian soldiers, so I’ll suspend some disbelief.
Poor Johnathan was useless this season, but it wasn’t his fault he was largely separated from the action.  I loved his scene with Will in the pizza kitchen.
And also - Will is gay.  I mean, it’s blatantly obvious at this point.  That whole speech he gave to Mike, showing him the painting (which we know that El did NOT commission from him), talking about El’s feelings and “feeling different” in a way that was clearly talking about himself, looking out the window in tears while he says it.  And then Johnathan’s whole “You can tell me anything. I’ll always love you no matter what” speech later on.  I mean, it’s as obvious as it can get without someone flat-out saying the word “gay.”
I would have been okay with Stranger Thing ending in Season 3, with Hopper’s actual death, but Season 4 was worth it just to see El’s reaction when he walks through the door.
I am still utterly over the Steve-Nancy-Johnathan thing, it’s just boring.  I’d rather see Nancy end up with neither of them.  Steve has changed, but it sounds like his dreams of a big family, don’t really line up with Nancy’s career ambitions.  Johnathan is lying to her about college.  She can just part on good terms with both of them and go her own way.
No matter how this ends, I don’t actually want any more main character deaths.  Killing any of the kids is too dark.  I’ve seen people speculating about Will dying next season and - really?  After all that kid has been through?  After all Joyce has been through?  This series is not even remotely realistic, and it’s generally used character deaths well when they happen, no need to get grimdark.  Let the main cast - both kids and adults, live happily in the end.
Robin, Argyle and Murray are my break-out surprise favorites (Robin from last season, of course, but she continued to be fantastic this season.)  Argyle is the chill dude you want in an emergency, he just rolls with the punches.  Steve continues to be the best.

Chapter 13: React
Rose's POV; A few hours earlier...
I was in my room writing a letter to aunt Jade when I heard running in the hallway nearby. "What's going on?" I ask, poking my head out of the doorway. Lilia stops and turns to me. "Commander's called a meeting outside. You might wanna come too." She says. I shrug and follow her outside, where the others are all gathered around the commander.
Tumblr media
The area outside doesn’t look like a typical military base, as we're all gathered in a relatively small patio area, and nearby is the building where all of our sleeping quarters are. The building is rather small, but granted, there are only 5 of us using it.
Lilia sits down on a box that was lying around, next to Mike, who's staring off into no direction in particular. Some find it weird, maybe rude, but he's blind, so we don’t mind it. Anna was seated on a swivel chair that she probably brought from inside, and the commander, Violet, was standing tall, facing all of us. It still feels kind of weird, seeing her without her signature captain's hat, but I have to remind myself that I’m the one wearing it now, after she gave it to me a few months ago. She may be rather young, but when it comes to the military, she knows what she’s doing.
Anna, on the other hand, is older than all of us. She’s seen a thing or two, and her experience is invaluable on our missions.
"So, what's up, cap?" Says Mike, staring more towards a wall than to any of us. "I'm glad you asked, Mike." Says Violet. She walks over to a side table and grabs a remote. She presses a button on the remote, turning on a projector, which projects the image of an airship. "I've been receiving reports from the Inkopolis Air Force about this unidentified aircraft that entered their airspace recently." Says Violet. The aircraft in question was a dark black with orange accents, but besides that, there wasn’t really anything special about it.
Lilia raises her hand. "What is it even for?" She asks. Violet shakes her head. "We don't know. But whatever it is—" she pauses to press another button on the remote, switching the image to a picture taken aboard the ship, showing various Salmonids and Octarians seemingly working together. "—It's bad." She finishes. We all look at the image with wide-eyed expressions (except Mike, who like I said, is blind), struggling to grasp the amount of chaos that would ensue if this ship got anywhere close to any residential areas.
"Octarians and Salmonids... working together?!" Says Anna, in shock. I turn from the picture to Lilia, who's sitting right next to me. "Do you think this might be General Octavio’s doing?" I ask. Considering that we haven’t heard anything on Octavio since last year, it wasn’t a very far-fetched assumption.
Violet shakes her head. "Again, we don't know. What we do know, however, is where it's going." She says, turning off the projector and putting the remote back. "According to the Inkopolis Air Force, the ship is making a direct course for...Inkopolis Square."
I try to hold back a gasp, but I evidently fail. "I-Inkopolis Square?" I ask, in disbelief. Violet slowly nods. "Yup. Now, as you all know, our first priority is to protect the people. Though the Air Force has units heading in to face the threat, we need to be on the premises to make sure that the civilians aren't caught in the middle. Am I clear?" She says. The rest of us nod, though, in all honesty, I'm worried about Scarlet.
"Good." Says Violet, turning towards me, apparently noticing the worry on my face. "Grab your things. We leave in 30." She says, dismissing everyone. As I turn to walk away, however, she tugs on my arm. "Don't worry, Rose. Your sister will be safe. We'll make sure of it." She whispers to me, patting me on the back and sending me back on my way. I nod towards Violet, and head back to my room. That letter to aunt Jade will have to wait.
A few minutes later, while I'm in my room packing my things, an Echolocation tag begins to swirl around me. "C'mon in, Mike." I say, turning towards the door. Because he's blind, Mike usually uses Echolocators and Point Sensors to get around. Heck, that’s why my Splatling comes with a Point Sensor.
After a couple seconds of him fumbling around, trying to find the doorknob, he enters the room. "Hey Rosie, you ready to go?" He says, leaning on the wall. I sigh. "Yeah, just gimme a sec." I say, grabbing my bag and my Splatling. He raises his eyebrow at me. "You alright?" He asks. "Yeah, I'm fine." I say, instinctively putting on a fake smile, despite knowing that he can't see me. He folds his arms. "Look, I don’t need to see your face to tell that something's wrong." I sigh and turn around to face him. "Okay, well... I'm worried about my little sister." I explain. "She lives out there, and knowing how reckless she can be sometimes..." I don’t finish that thought. Frankly, I don't think I want to.
Mike walks up to me and looks me in the eye, making me remember that I'm currently being echolocated. "Relax, Rosie. There won’t be any casualties out there on our watch." He says. Despite his tinted sunglasses, I can tell he’s giving me a reassuring look. Or trying to, anyway. "Thanks, Mike." I say, going and kissing him on the cheek. "I needed that." He gives me a quick look of bewilderment before putting his poker face back on, as if nothing ever happened. Although, his face is slightly redder than normal. "A-anytime, Rosie. Anytime." He says. "Now come on. The Square ain't gonna protect itself." I nod in agreement, and walk with him to where the others are waiting for us.
Like he said, Inkopolis Square wasn’t going to protect itself.

Just wanted to swing by and say how much I love your blog! It's rare to get such a grounded, adult perspective on ST. Even rarer for Byler. Blogs run by younger fans are often too modern in their expectations - I've seen people claim Byler will openly date or even marry. In the 80s! And there's a lot of tumblrspeak about "disaster gays" and "smol beans" that just makes me uncomfortable. Maybe I'm too old for it but it feels fetishizing and demeaning of the characters. You're much more respectful
“ I appreciate that would be a divisive thing to post, but I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you being the adult in the room. You know what you're talking about, and it shows. Even the way you go back and forth on how canon Byler will be matches my own feelings and is refreshingly honest, in a landscape that demands people pick a side and pretend to know it all. It's an annoying feature of Tumblr and I like that you resist it and just give your honest opinions in the moment.” I don’t know if these two Asks are from the same person, but they’re similar and came in around the same time, so I figure I’ll respond to both together.
First, thank you. I appreciate that I can bring a different perspective to the fandom and that you enjoy it.
I make no attempt to be “the adult in the room,” but I do try to be an adult in the room. I feel like everyone has a perspective to bring to the discussion. Some may be, hm, more superficial than others, but I don’t think that makes those posts any less valid, per se. Still, I can see where you’re coming from. I’m not going to condemn the younger fans, as I probably would have been somewhat similar were I still that age, but I would be lying if I said there weren’t posts that I found frustrating and/or counterproductive.
To address concerns specific to the first post, I’ll say that the attitudes of younger Byler fans reflects a modern acceptance of gay teens. I can’t say that I get on board with the terminology, but I can see some nuance behind it. Sometimes it might be minimizing the characters into tropes, but other times it might also be a sort of identification with the characters. If it helps people explore themselves or the world of LGBT identity, then I’m all for it.
At the very least, I don’t think most of those people are trying to be disrespectful. They really don’t have a good understanding of what it would be like to be gay back then, but I see that as a good thing. When I stop to think about it, I feel pretty good seeing that people are so comfortable talking about gay teens that they’ll use such casual language about it. Yeah, it does seem like they don’t take the issues seriously, but that means there’s an opportunity for learning that I hope they’ll take.
Byler may not openly date or marry in the “present” time of the show, but I find it nice that younger fans see it as normal enough to think so. I think older fans such as myself should take that as a point of contrast that tells us that even if Mike and Will would have to be together in secret, the modern climate would allow the writers to show us. Besides, there could always be a epilogue.
Regarding the second post, I think the stubbornness (for lack of a better term) of many people online comes from the fact that we tend to create our own echo chambers. We use tags and join communities to largely target an audience that we think will support us. Dissenting views become less and less common, which results in an echo chamber that serves to reinforce itself. I’m not directing that at any person in particular, rather it’s an observation of social media itself. I actually think Tumblr is a bit better with alternative ideas than, say, Twitter or Reddit.
Still, I think there’s room for improvement. There’s always room for improvement. People can get carried away with criticism or take things too personally, or there can be a combination of the two. We need to be able to disagree without it being personal. I know that I’ve personally adjusted my opinions on many Stranger Things theories based on the thoughts of others here. I thought I was right, but someone else’s take just made more sense and had more support. It didn’t mean that I was stupid, or that the other person was an ass.
I’ve been on the wrong side of it before, though. One time, for example, I pressed someone too hard for more and more support for their theories to the point that they became frustrated with me. I meant no offense, but I still had to accept that I was being a problem, even if I didn’t mean to be. I was simply unconvinced and was hoping they had more to reassure me, but I did a poor job of getting that across. I apologized, and I think we’re still cool, but it was a reminder to me that I can offend without meaning to, and that still warrants an apology and being more careful with my words.
I know some people think changing opinions is a sign of weakness, but I see it as a strength. It’s a sign of intelligence and humility to be able to acknowledge that you’re wrong about something. I started out early on feeling that Byler should be canon, but probably wouldn’t be. Over time, however, through analyzing the show and discussing it with others, I grew to be more confident in it. People were able to show me evidence that I just would not have been aware of had I not come to Tumblr. I’m not the type of person to watch and rewatch scenes to pick them apart or spot the tiniest details, but those who can do that allowed me to use my own skills to get into the psychology of the show.
I think we all have something to add to the conversation if we’re willing to listen in return. I appreciate being called an adult in the room, but I think we all could be if that just means being mindful of one’s words and how they affect others.

Sebastian Stan x Fem!Reader
Warnings: small age gap (8 years, your 30 he's 38), Swearing
Summary: The reader brings her Boyfriend Sebastian to visit her family for Thanksgiving
Town name and your family's names are made up btw.
Part 2
A/n: Hi y'all Happy Thanksgiving!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were practically bouncing off the walls in excitement when you woke up this morning. It was the day before Thanksgiving and you were bringing your Boyfriend, Sebastian Stan to visit your family with you, you had moved out of your small town where your family lives when you were 18 because you wanted to follow your dream of being a actress which you succeeded in after starting in a movie with Chris Evans two years ago. At a party Chris had invited you to he introduced you and Sebastian. Currently you were dragging Sebastian through the gate excited to see your family.. "Babe my brothers are waiting come on!" You said. He shook his head jogging to keep up with you.
"Dragoste they aren't gonna leave us here slow down!"
"You don't know that hurry up!" You said. This would be the first time in almost a year you saw your older brothers and to say your excited would be an understatement. You hadn't seen them since the Christmas. You are also excited to meet your youngest niece who was born a few months prior to thanksgiving. You made it out of the gate and looked around spotting the four men, three of them were sitting down a baby stroller sitting next to them, the fourth man stood beside them. "There they are!" You exclaimed letting go of your boyfriends hand and began running to the men. "Matty!" You tackled the man that was standing.
"Jeez!!" He exclaimed falling, the others looked at you shaking their head at you. "Hi baby sis."
"Hi!" You stood up giving hugs to the other three men as Sebastian made it over. "Sebastian these are my brothers, Matt, Jon, Mike, and Justin. Boys this is my boyfriend, Sebastian." You introduced. Your brothers stood up straight giving Sebastian a intimidating look. He would be lying if he said he wasn't worried to meet your older brothers. He was under the impression that they were stereotypical over protective brothers. He knows you are their only sister and the youngest of the five of you. Matthew being the oldest at thirty-seven, Jonathan is thirty-six, Mike is thirty-five, and Justin is thirty four, and you are thirty.
"Hello." Sebastian said shifting on his feet nervously before your brothers broke into smiles.
"Hey Man. Welcome to the family!" Matt said pulling him in a hug. You shook your head laughing as your brothers hugged him and welcomed him to the family. He is the first guy you've brought home since you moved when you were 18.
"Is this my baby niece?" You bent down in front of the stroller where a two-month-old baby sat.
"Yes she is." Justin said.
"Hi there Nora. I'm your auntie y/n." You said in a baby voice. Sebastian looked at you fondly as you made faces and cooed at the baby.
"Okay let's go get your luggage Mom and dad are waiting for us." Matthew said. You stuck your tongue at at him before standing. You grabbed your before hand before the 6 of you before walking to luggage claim. You guys made it to luggage claim grabbing your bags before heading out to Jonathan's mini-van which you teased him for.
"So how do you two meet?" Matt asked as he leaned back in the seat. You didn't tell your family much about yours and Sebastian's relationship.
"At a party Chris invited me to." You said.
"That's all not some exciting and adorable story? Wait Chris?" Justin asked.
"Chris Evans. My co-star? I told you bout him! The guy with the adorable dog!" You said looking down at your phone.
"Oh! That guy!"
"Chris was adamant in us meeting." Sebastian chuckled with you.
"Sebastian. Your an actor like her right?" Matt asked.
"Yeah." Sebastian nodded.
"You're in those marvel movies? My twins talk about them all the time." Jonathan said.
"And so does my oldest." Mike said.
"Yeah I play the Winter Soldier." Sebastian said smiling.
"Cool man I think thats my daughters favorite." Jonathan replied.
"You don't know Samantha's favorite character from movies she talks about 24-7?" Justin asked.
"I'm pretty sure it's him." Jon shrugged as he turned the car down the street leading into your hometown.
"Grayson said something about her favorite being Captain America though." Mike said.
"Ooooh! Jax's favorite is The winter soldier!" Jon said in realization as the car made it into town.
"In a whole year this place didn't even change a bit." You muttered looking out the window as the car passed by shops and houses.
"It never does." Matt said.
"Hey, are my other nieces and nephews waiting at mom and dad's house for us?" You asked your brothers. They each have kids, Matt has two Luna and Benji they are thirteen and eight, Jonathan has four Samantha, and Jaxon who are twins and fourteen, Violet and Hazel who are ten, and nine, Mike has four boys, Grayson, Jasper, Levi, and Griffin who are fourteen, twelve, ten, and four, Justin has three Leo, Oliver, and Nora, they are seven, five and Nora is just a baby. You were the only one without kids but that was because you wanted to wait till you were married to have children.
"No Griffin is but the rest went to get something from Jon's house before we left so they probably aren't back yet." Mike told you as the car pulled into the driveway of a two story house that was far from the street with a large yard that was surrounded by woods after.
"We're here!" You said excitedly as you unbuckled your car. In addition to not seeing your brothers for a year you also didn't see their wives who you were close with since they became your big sisters the second they met you. You had seen your parents when they came to a premiere for one of your movies. Jon parked the car and you climbed out going with Sebastian to the trunk to get your luggage. "See Seb told ya my brothers would love you." You said, he was nervous about coming for two reasons one was leaving his mom alone for the holiday but the three of you decided to celebrate it early, and the other one was just because of the fact the first time he'd be meeting your brothers and most of your family would be on a big holiday.
"You were right dragoste but you still have more family." He said leaning down to kiss you.
"No PDA!" Matt said before Sebastian's lips met your. You pulled away glaring at your brother before you shut the trunk of the van and began to wheel the suitcases up to the house with Sebastian right next to you looking around at the house.
"Mom! We're back!" Mike shouted as the 6 of you entered the house with the addition of Nora who was asleep in her car seat. A four-year-old boy came running at full speed toward you crashing into your legs hugging them tight.
"Griffin!" You said picking the little boy up and giving him a tight hug.
"Hi Auntie!" The boy said before looking up at the man standing beside you. "Who are you?"
"I'm Sebastian, your Aunts boyfriend." Sebastian said smiling at the boy.
"Uncle?" Griffin asked beaming with excitement.
"Sure buddy." Griffin made grabby hands toward Sebastian who gladly took him. You couldn't help but smile at how Sebastian was with your nephew.
"Hun!" Your mom came out of the kitchen pulling you into a hug immediately.
"Hi momma." You said. The two of you pulled away so you could hug your dad while your mom gave Sebastian a hug. "Hi dad."
You walked into the living room Sebastian no longer holding Griffin but Griffin was holding his hand. "Y/n!" You sister in laws said smiling at you, Justin's wife, Elizabeth was the first on to give you a hug, then Colleen, Jon`s wife gave you one followed by Autumn, Matt`s Wife.
"Mommy! This is Uncle Sebastian!" Griffin said to Kristina his mom.
"So your the man Y/n talked about. Nice to meet you I'm Kristina." She said smiling at your boyfriend.
"You too. I'm Sebastian." Your other three sisters-in-law introduced themselves before you showed Sebastian to the room you two would be staying in. "This is where you grew up?" He asked looking at the decorations you had left in the small bedroom when you moved out. "Is this you?" He picked up a photo of you freshman year of high school with braces, you were in a cheer-leading uniform on the back of Justin who was in a football jersey.
"Yeah." You said blushing.
"You were adorable." He said before smirking. "Think you'd still fit in the cheerleader outfit?" He asked suggestively.
"Sebastian!" You exclaimed pushing him playfully making the two of you laugh.
"Seriously you'd be hot in it." He said leaning down to kiss you.
"Whatever you say babe." You laughed hugging him before you heard the sound of 11 kids voices. "You get to meet my favorite people are you ready? This will break or make you." You joked.
"I think I'd rather stay up here with you alone... Wait I thought I was your favorite person!." He said pouting causing you to laugh and push him playfully again.
"Sorry but they win your higher on the list then my brothers though!." You said before three little boys ran into the room. "My boys!" You said leaning down opening your arms for the three to run into them.
"Hi Auntie y/n!" The youngest of the three boys, Oliver said.
"Auntie n/n I missed you!" The oldest of the three, Benji said.
"Auntie y/n who's he?" Leo, Olivers brother asked pulling away from the hug to look up at Sebastian.
"I'm Sebastian." Sebastian said leaning down to their height.
"He's uncle Seb!" Griffin said as he walking in his older brother, Grayson following.
"Your actually dating Sebastian Stan! I thought dad was lying!" Grayson exclaimed staring at the man, Sebastian chuckled at the excitement of your nephew.
"Hi what's your name?" Sebastian asked not directing it to one of the boys in particular though he had a guess to which was which. You told him about all of them.
"I'm Benji. Can we actually call you uncle Seb?"
"Sure." Sebastian said.
"I'm Leo! Uncle Seb how does Grayson know who you are?"
"I'm the winter solider." Sebastian said in a hushed secretive tone.
"Cool! I'm Oliver!" Sebastian stood up looking at the teenager waiting to hear his name though he know it was Grayson because of what Leo had said. You stood up holding Oliver.
"I'm Grayson.. Do I have to call you uncle?" Grayson asked. He was a fan sure him and two of his cousins loved marvel but he found calling a guy he just met uncle a little strange now it may not seem weird to his four year old brother or younger cousins but that's mainly because they are young.
"No." Sebastian said.
"Come on now Seb has to meet the others now." You said.
"Jax is going to freak." Grayson said leaving the bedroom you, Sebastian, and the younger boys following behind. "Me, him, and Samantha are massive fans." He said. You couldn't help but smile already seeing your boyfriend bond with your nephews.
"Really? Were all three of you team cap?" Sebastian asked.
"Sebastian stan!" A girls voice exclaimed from the bottom of the stares where two teens who looked alike stood staring at your boyfriend.
"Hi!" Sebastian said waving at them as you guys made your ways down the stairs.
"I'm here too!" You pouted. Jaxon was the first to break from the trance and give you a hug, then Samantha did the same as your younger nephews ran off to play.
"Your actually dating Sebastian stan?" Samantha asked you.
"No he's just a cardboard cutout." You joked.
"A really realistic one." Your boyfriend said.
"Hi! I'm Jaxon! This is my twin Samantha."
"Grayson said you guys are fans. Were you two on team cap?" Sebastian asked.
"I was on team ironman." Grayson said.
"I was team cap!" Samantha said.
"Team Ironman." Sebastian feigned hurt as he gasped.
"But I'm dating you aunt and I'm on team cap." He said.
"We're still team ironman." Grayson said.
"You my favorite." Sebastian whispered to Samantha jokingly.
"Ha!" She said to Grayson and Jaxon sticking her tongue out at them.
"She's only on team Cap because she has a crush on Chris Evans." Jaxon said. You couldn't help but laugh. You knew about this crush because your niece was so excited to know you were starring in a film with Chris.
"Jax!" Samantha exclaimed smacking him. The two of them began argue as siblings do. You and Grayson just shrugged when Sebastian looked at you guys.
"Was that my fault?" Sebastian whispered to you.
"No they fight over nonsense all the time." You assured. "Come one you still have to meet the rest of my nieces and nephews." You said leaving the teenagers to figure out their problems on their own.
"Uncle Seb! Come play with us!" Griffin ran over to you two pulling Sebastian outside where you noticed most of your family was now. Griffin pulled Sebastian to where your nieces and nephews except the oldest three were playing soccer. You sat down next to Justin who was feeding nora.
"The kids seem to love him. I've never seen Oliver this outgoing around an adult that isn't one of us." He said watching as Oliver kicked the soccer ball to Sebastian.
"Yeah." You agreed watching as Luna blocked the ball from the diy goals that were set up in the front yard. They were just arches made out of some extra wood from a project your parents did a while ago those arches have been their since you were six. There were two that we're across from each other.
"You finally found a good guy sis." Matt said as he sat down next to you. "And he's good with kids."
You watched as the three teenagers who formerly inside came out to join their cousins/siblings. "He's got the teens playing with the little kids! I can't even get Grayson to watch Griffin for a few minutes." Mike said joining the three of you.
"Why aren't you out there? Your the pro at playing soccer with them." Jonathan said walking over. You shrugged watching as Hazel kicked the ball to Sebastian it accidentally hitting him in the crotch. He let out a groan that your couldn't hear as he fell to the ground.
"Sorry!" Hazel exclaimed as you ran down to them.
"You okay babe?" You asked Sebastian.
"Yeah just need a break." He said staying in his position on the grass groaning.
"You killed him." Samantha said jokingly to her sister.
"I didn't mean too!"
"Girls he'll be fine he's just being a big baby." You joked. Sebastian glared at you finally sitting up before you tackled you smirking at you.
"Dogpile on Aunt y/n!" Samantha exclaimed before jumping onto Sebastian's back making you and your boyfriend groan. The rest of your nieces and nephews joined besides Nora for obvious reasons. Unbeknownst to you and Sebastian, Colleen took a photo.
"Okay can I be free now?" You asked.
"No!" Griffin said.
"You have to give us cookies before dinner!" Oliver said.
"Okay fine but you can't tell my brothers or your moms." You agreed. The kids got off and ran into the house ready for their cookies. Your brothers were all gonna go home with their families before dinner so this was the only chance for your nieces and nephews to get their cookies.
"So doll you said that would make or break me how did I do?" Sebastian asked holding himself above you with his hands on either side of your head.
"You did great even my brothers admitted it." You said smiling. "Now come one there are thirteen kids waiting for cookies it's going to become a riot if they don't get any." You said as Sebastian got off helping you up.
The rest of the day went great your brothers and sisters-in-law loved him, the kids adored him. It is now Thanksgiving, your brothers and their families are already here the kids, you, and Sebastian watching the parade on Tv. You leaned against Sebastian 's shoulder as your nieces and nephews excitedly pointed at the floats. Nora was sat your lap sucking on a binky as she watched her brothers and cousins go crazy over the floats.
"Doll when are we gonna have one of these?" Sebastian asked looking down at the baby.
"Not for awhile Stan." You said bouncing the baby. You actually loved being the cool aunt that didn't have any kids of her own especially when sometimes during the summer you get to bring your older nieces and nephews back to New York with you for the summer which they always love. It's really only when you don't have any filming going on.
"But come on I think Nora wants a new cousin." He smirked at you.
"I think she should beg her other aunts and uncles for one then." You said.
"Please I want a cousin close to my age!" He lifted the baby up the his face her facing you as he did a baby voice.
"Not happening." You laughed taking you niece back. "Keep dreamin babe. But you gotta put a ring on my finger before you put a baby in me." You looked but at your nieces and nephews who were laughing and playing around.
"Will you marry me." He whisper pulling a ring pop out of a candy bowl your parents had in the living room for the kids. You couldn't help but laugh.
"Sorry but I like my jewelry not to be edible." You joked trying to take the ring.
"No! You don't get the ring you said no!" He pouted.
"Hey love birds! Stop flirting while you have my daughter on your laps!" Justin said walking over and taking the baby from you. "I'm sorry baby that must have been scary."
"Okay okay Justin." You laughed. "We won't flirt anymore.
"Speak for yourself. I can't resist it." Sebastian said pulling you closer to him making you laugh.
"Whatever Y/n Mom wants you in the kitchen."
You stood giving you boyfriend a smile before walking into the kitchen. "Yes mom?" You asked.
"Can you and Sebastian go down to the basement to kid the kids table and chairs?" She asked not looking up at you from the turkey.
"Okay." You turned around going to the living. "Seb come help me get the kids table and chairs." You said peaking into the living. You saw your sister in laws and brothers now there talking to your boyfriend.
"Coming doll." Sebastian stood up walking over to you before following you to the basement door.
"Into the dungeon." You said opening it to reveal some rickety looking stairs.
"Gonna lock me down here? My fans will notice I'm gone though." Sebastian laughed following you.
"Maybe I will." You laughed going over to a fold up table. "Here's the table let's get it up stairs." You said lifting a end of it. He grabbed the other end and the two of you brought it up the stairs. You set it in the dining room before going back to the basement to grab the chairs. After you finished grabbing everything, Levi and Jasper stole Sebastian to go play outside with while you set the table up. You sighed finishing setting up the table before going out the back door to see all of your nieces and nephews crowding around your boyfriend, him holding two of them, Jasper was on his back while he held Griffin on his hip. You couldn't help but smile before taking a photo of them for Instagram you captioned it happy thanks giving then posted it tagging Sebastian, your brothers, and your sister in laws in it. Your oldest three niece and nephews have Instagrams but you never tag them in your posts deciding to keep them away from the unwarranted fame that comes from being a actress' niece and nephews. Your boyfriend looked at you smiling as Jasper jumped off his back and Leo tried to take his cousin's spot.
"When will we have one of those! You need a mini you running around the apartment." Sebastian whisper to you as you guys went back into the dining room where your family had been waiting.
"Okay love birds cut it out!" Jon said rolling his eyes as you sat down. You stuck your tongue out at him. (Add saying grace if your family does. Mine doesn't so I don't know how to do that)
The dinner was filled with laughter as everyone began talking about what had happened in the year you hadn't seen each other. You and Sebastian went into better detail on how you met. You met him two years ago a month after filming the movie you were in with Chris E. Your sister in laws asked about the movies he had been two of them knowing a lot about the Marvel movies he had been in because of their kids. Your mom shared as many embarrassing stories as she could. "When she was 4 she was the bossiest kid, she'd make the boys make be in mini movies with her, we still have some of those I'll find them." She said.
"Mom! No!" You whined laughing.
"I'm sure you were just as good of an actress back then as you are now." Sebastian said smiling at you. You shook your head.
"No the videos are so embarrassing." You mumbled.
"Yeah for all of us! You used to make us put your tiny ass pink dresses on." Matt said. They could never say no to you. So wearing a pink dress 7 sizes too small was something they did for you. You didn't fit into those dresses again until you was 13 because they stretched them out.
"You didn't have to say yes!" You laughed.
"None of us could say no to you! You would pull the puppy dog eyes then we'd be in dresses!" Justin said. Sebastian laughed knowing exactly what Justin meant. He could resist your puppy dog eyes either.
"Or our Halloween candy! You took all my snickers!" Mike said pouting.
"Your still mad at me for that! I did the dishes for a month to make it up to you!" You said laughing.
"Get over it babe." Kristina said. She knew all about this whole thing as she was friends with your brother most of your guys childhoods.
"You're supposed to be on my side!" Mike whined.
"She likes me more!" You teased sticking your tongue out at him. Sebastian watched fondly as you and your family joked and brought up old stories. He smiled every time you got embarrassed over a story your brothers and their wives decided to bring up. You looked over at him a smile so big that looked it hurt.
"Sebastian do you have any new roles? I already know y/n has a project coming up." Autumn asked you before taking a sip of her wine.
"Filming for Falcon and the winter soldier started a few months ago actually." Sebastian said beginning to talk about his role to which there was plenty input shouted from the kid's table from Grayson and the twins.
After dinner everyone watched a movie once it was over your brothers and their families went home then you and Sebastian retreated to your bedroom. "You told me you only use your puppy dog eyes on me." Sebastian said pouting at you.
"No I just implied that I never made it a fact." You smirked at him hugging him. "You know maybe we should have a baby. The world need another Stan." You thought aloud. Though you probably only thought that due to the fact you got baby fever everytime you were around your brothers kids.
"Really?" Sebastian looked down at you beaming with delight.
"Sure why not?" You said closing your eyes as you rested you head on his chest.
"Maybe we should start trying." He smirked as your eyes popped open and glared at him.
"No! My family is still here." You said. "We'll start trying for a baby when we get home." You muttered.
"But why not a headstart." He pushed a little harder jokingly, he, in reality, didn't mind waiting but he liked how you looked when you got annoyed he found it cute.
"Because my parents are down stairs!"
"They won't hear." He teased smiling at you as you scrunched you eyebrows up glaring at him. "Chill baby I'm joking." You sighed laying you head on his chest once again.
"You better be." You mumbled yawning.
"Come on baby let's get you ready for bed." He kissed your forehead smiling at you. He was immensely happy with you agreeing to start a family.
Tumblr media
You woke up the next morning remembering your talk with Sebastian and you couldn't help but smile. Especially when you began thinking about what your family's reactions were gonna be. You knew your brothers would be excited for another niece or nephew, you parents would be a little iffy as you want to start before marriage, the kids would love having another cousin, and your sisters in law have been saving their kids clothing for you since each of their youngests except Elizabeth's grew out of them. You rolled over to look at Sebastian but found that he wasn't there. You furrowed your brows before climbing out of bed to make your way downstairs to find him, but first you got dressed. As you were making your way to the stairs you could hear talking from downstairs. You made it to the kitchen where Colleen was smiling ear to ear at you with Sebastian sitting next to her with a guilty look on his face, your parents weren't in the room but you could hear them talking in the living room.
"Your trying for a baby!!! Your gonna be a mom!" Colleen squealed jumping up and down giving you a hug.
"How did you find that out?"
"I let it slip on accident." Sebastian gave you an apologetic smile.
"Colleen you can't tell anyone!" You said.
"Fine but when you find the gender out! I have some adorable clothes from each of my kids you can have!"
"Thank you." You chuckled before going to sit down by Sebastian. "Good job."
"I didn't mean to."
"It's fine babe." You said giving him a kiss.
"You guys are so in love you two better make me a bridesmaid at the wedding." Colleen said before leaving to kitchen.
By the time the week ended your family grew attached to Sebastian. Your oldest three niece and nephews were definitely the most attached enjoying to ask him questions about the marvel movies and their favorite actors from the franchise Sebastian was a little butt hurt he wasn't any of theirs favorites. Your younger nieces and nephews loved him, the girls all managed to get him dressed up as a princess with a tutu and all. You obviously posted a photo of him and your nieces all dressed up. Your older brothers were definitely grateful that he was the guy you brought home knowing you have had plenty of failed relationships in the twelve years since you left town. Your sister-in-laws were more then happy to welcome into the family even before you brought him and their opinions on him didn't change.

Lance Hunter - Should’ve Said It ft. Grant Ward
Based off Should’ve Said It by Camila Cabello
Word Count: 2,656
Show up at my door, but I don't live there anymore
Sendin' me your songs, but they don't really sound like before
I was crazy for you, all caught up and confused
Love was broken for me, now it's broken for you
Grant Ward. That was the name of the back-stabbing, hydra kiss-up dickhead that you once loved. But he betrayed you, all of you and you spent months getting over him and what he did to you. You had to learn how to love again, how to trust again and it wasn’t easy. Fortunately, you had help, Lance Hunter - a dashing mercenary sharp shooter with a quick wit who you fell for very quickly.
You’d met him when he joined SHIELD after his friend was killed. You’d been drowning your sorrows about Ward when he walked past. You offered for him to join you and he couldn’t refuse – this event created a bond of friendship that grew stronger every day. A few weeks after you’d met you slept together. You didn’t exactly mean for it to happen but once it did, you were both happier – it forced you both to admit your feelings for each other and you’d been in a steady relationship ever since.
He’d been teaching you how to love again.
Isn't it something? That I get more when I'm giving you nothing? Huh
Isn't it magic? That when you stop lookin' for it, it happens?
Baby, he fell from grace, landed right in your place
Kissed me so many times that I forgot your taste
Lance had been so careful and gentle with you once you’d told him about Ward. Lance definitely wasn’t his biggest fan but he hated him even more when he found out how much he had hurt you. You’d also had trouble controlling your inhuman power – luck. You could change the luck of yourself and others at will, and you had full control except when you felt off which happened a lot after Ward’s betrayal. There’d been numerous accidents around you – people dropping things and falling over. Lance had helped you control it even when you felt off, he even called you his Lucky Lady.
You’d taken your relationship slowly and you were so happy with Lance, happy enough to forget Ward’s name – however, Coulson didn’t seem to get this particular memo.
“We're making a deal... with Ward.” He said, while you sat with Hunter and Fitz on a quinjet. As soon as the name left his lips, you felt your heartbeat quicken and fear filled your head. You instinctively reached for Lance’s hand.
“I’m sorry, what did you just say.” Lance asked, anger and disbelief rising in his words.
Coulson deactivated the black box, “As I said, desperate times, desperate measures.”
------------
A while later, Coulson was talking to Ward (accompanied by Mike Peterson) while you, Hunter and Fitz stayed at the quinjet. Hunter was trying his best to keep his cool and reassure Fitz while you sat alone, listening to Coulson and Ward’s conversation through coms.
“You doing okay, gorgeous?” Lance asked, sitting down next to you and resting his hand on yours.
You nodded your head, even though it was a lie. Coulson was bringing Ward back to the quinjet and you weren’t sure you were ready to see him. You hadn’t seen him since he broke your heart; you hadn’t visited him while he was living under the base.
Lance cleared his throat, gaining your full attention, “I know you’re lying, you’re terrified.” He said, putting his arm around you and pulling you into his chest. You rested your head down and took some deep breaths – trying to control your power and your brain all at once. “It’s okay to be scared, but I’m going to be here the whole time. I won’t leave your side.”
“Thank you.”
I wish that you could turn back the time
You hold me closer, instead of your pride
I knew it was you from the very first night
And it took you two years to make up your mind
You sat in the cockpit of the quinjet when you heard the car approaching. You knew that you were about to see him again and you didn’t know what to do with yourself. He had been the source of your trauma, your problems and you knew that Fitz felt exactly the same. He was sat next to you in the cockpit with Lance standing behind you watching the door.
You heard footsteps and moved out of your seat, coming face to face with Grant Ward. He smirked at you, “Hello, Y/N. It’s been a while. I’ve missed you.”
You couldn’t control what you did next. You took a deep breath out and launched at him, punching him square in the jaw. Lance pulled you away and wrapped you in his arms, whispering ‘I love you’ and ‘It’s okay’ in your ear over and over. Coulson directed Ward, Agent 33 and Bakshi, who they’d brought with them, to sit down as you did too. Fitz opted to sit in the cockpit with Mike, but you had the pleasure of sitting across from Ward.
You pulled your gun out of your pocket and loaded it, turning the safety off and pointing it right at Ward, “If you even blink, I will not hesitate to pull this trigger.”
“You’ve gotten stronger, more resilient. I’d like to think I had something to do with that, Y/N.” He smirked, trying to get to you.
You smirked back, “Yeah, actually, you made me realise that there are so many jackasses like you in the world, and I need to be my own superhero sometimes.” Ward was taken aback by your sudden confidence but Lance seemed very impressed.
Coulson explained the mission and soon enough you landed and the mission was a go. You helped Fitz get into Mike’s eye feed and stood by Lance to watch. Lance immediately held your hand, making sure you were as far away from Ward as possible. The meet went as it should up until Bakshi started to mention something about selling Mike and everyone turned against each other. Guns flew up and knives came out.
You held your gun up to Ward and closed your eyes; soon enough, Ward took a step forward and clumsily tripped on air, falling to the ground. You and Coulson held your guns to him while Lance held his gun to Agent 33’s head – ordering her to release Fitz or he’d shoot, which she did. Fitz disarmed Mike, who was about to shoot everyone in the room and everyone put their weapons down.
“You pull anything like that again; I'll throw your ass off this quinjet at 20,000 feet.” Coulson threatened.
You smiled, “And I’ll be the one opening the door.”
So you want me now? That's funny
'Cause you didn't give a, back then
Comin' back around, so sorry
'Cause there's no room in my bed and I'm all good now
Someone else is gettin' all of me
If you wanted me so desperately
You should've said it
The quinjet dropped down and Fitz pointed out Skye. You followed Hunter and Coulson holding your gun in one hand and stuffing a knife into your side pocket. Once you were in the building you were swarmed by guards. You stood behind Lance, closing your eyes and picturing the probability of the guards shooting each other, falling over and knocking each other out and you made it skyrocket. Once you opened your eyes, the seven guards who were attacking you were out cold.
Coulson gave an order and went to find Skye, Ward sneaking away to follow him. Unfortunately, you and Lance were too preoccupied with Ward’s actions to notice the guy behind you who shot before either of you could do anything. The bullet landed in Lance’s side and after assuring you that he was fine, he urged to you go and find Ward and stop him from doing more harm than good.
You caught up to them and were able to get the two guards they were fighting to knock each other out, before you grabbed your gun and whacked Ward in the face, causing a deep red cut to appear on his left cheek. “Hey!” He yelled, “I am trying to help you!”
“Yeah, like you did when you almost killed FitzSimmons, or when you hung me out to dry with Hydra! You are a lying jackass, who I never should’ve trusted!” You shouted, feeling better after getting your anger out.
“Skye!” Coulson called, pulling you out of your argument. Unfortunately, before you could run to hug her, two guys came out of nowhere and they teleported away.
“I had her, damn it, I had her.” Coulson muttered to himself, while you stood next to him.
Suddenly you heard a noise and turned around to be faced with the barrel of a gun but Ward shot the guy before he could hurt you. “If you’re looking for thanks, you’re not getting it.”
Lance and Agent 33 appeared and you immediately ran to him, “I shouldn’t have left you, I’m sorry.” You whispered, resting your hands on his cheeks.
“I was the one who insisted, and I’m fine.” He croaked, his wound was bleeding profusely and causing him to look more tired.
“You just need to stay awake, okay, babe? Stay awake.” You mumbled.
You're only lonely, now you ain't the one that hold me
Only lonely now, now
You sat next to Lance, pressing a cloth to his wound; he hissed every now and then at the contact but you would always fire back with a small quip to shut him up. Little did you know that Ward was watching you from the cockpit. He told himself that he loved Kara but that wasn’t true, he loved you. He missed you and he knew that he’d do anything to make you his – even killing Hunter.
“I don’t know how you can even be in the same room with him, much less work with him after what he did,” Lance said to you, as you dressed his wound.
You chuckled, “Well, I’ve already hit him twice; I plan on increasing that number.” You joked, finishing the dressing before looking up at him, “Plus, I’ve got you. You make everything easier.”
“Good, I love you.” He whispered.
“I love you too,” You whispered back before leaning in to kiss him.
Ward watched as you kissed Hunter like he was your everything, which he was. Ward began to feel extremely jealous; he was who you should be kissing. Him not Hunter. You should be with him. He convinced Kara to leave the cockpit and she went and sat by the computer screen.
“Y/N, can you come here a minute?” Ward called, interrupting your conversation with your boyfriend.
You sighed, “What do you need, asswipe?”
Ward chuckled at your blatant hatred and dropped his head slightly, “Can’t I just want to chat, clear some things up?”
Lance looked at you, “You don’t have to.”
“It’s okay,” You replied, “Fine.” You said, standing up and going to sit in the cockpit. You sighed deeply when you took in the view from the window, you’d never get used to it, the beauty of the sky. “What did you want to talk about?”
“You like the view? Because it’s too bad I never got to teach you how to fly like I said I would.” He said, so casually it was as if he forgot the last six months.
You kept your straight face, looking over at the controls and flicking one of the buttons, taking the stick from him and flying seamlessly, “May taught me. I guess I never needed you.”
“You’ve gotten more control over your powers; they’ve gotten stronger since I last saw you. You can control when you use them on other people now, back then you couldn’t even affect other people’s luck.” He explained, looking at you as you flew the jet.
“No thanks to you. Although, what you said earlier, that I’m stronger because of you – you aren’t wrong. All the trauma and pain, pushed me to work harder, get better so that one day I could wipe that stupid smirk off your face.” You threatened.
He chuckled, “And how could you do that? All you do is control luck.”
“Luck is a game of probabilities.” You started, turning to face him, looking him right in the eye, “And I hold all the cards.” You said through gritted teeth before you turned your attention back to the view.
“We could’ve been great together, Y/N. You just had to leave and start dating that guy.” He said disgust in his voice when he mentioned Hunter.
“That guy, is more of a man than you’ll ever be and I love him more than I ever loved you, so you can forget us ever being an us again. I’m way too good for you.” You spat, before moving back into a seat by Lance.
So you want me now? That's funny
'Cause you didn't give a, back then
Comin' back around, so sorry (hey)
'Cause there's no room in my bed and I'm all good now
Someone else is gettin' all of me
If you wanted me so desperately
You should've said it; you should've said it, love
The team had gotten back to the base, with Ward and Agent 33 and Lance had gone to medical to get checked out by Simmons who very quickly gave him the all clear with orders to rest. You had brought him back to your room and cuddled on the couch while watching some tv.
“I’m sorry Coulson brought Ward on the mission, if I knew he was going to do that I never would’ve suggested that you come.” Lance apologised, rubbing your arm with his thumb.
You smiled, “It’s okay, I’m sorry that you got shot because I was too distracted by my demons to focus on you and the mission.” You apologised back.
“It’s all good, but if you want to repay me for getting shot, could you get me a beer or two – to take the pain away?” He asked, sweetly. You smiled, nodding and told him you’d be back soon.
You headed towards the kitchens before coming face to face with Ward, you tried to turn around before he noticed you but he did. “Y/N, how’s your little boyfriend?” He asked, menacingly.
“Better, just grabbing him a beer and then I’ll be heading back, if you’ll excuse me.” You said, moving to get around him but he blocked your exit, “Come on, Ward.”
“I’m about to go on a very important mission and I think I need a little love to get me psyched up.” He manipulated.
You chuckled, “Not happening. Move.”
“Come on, princess.” He said, using a nickname you’d rather forget. “You know you miss me, just tell me those three little words.”
“Go fuck yourself.” You spat, moving to leave but he grabbed your arm. “Get off of me.”
“You don’t understand, baby…”
You cut off his words by kneeing him in the balls and punching him in the face, “No, you don’t understand, I hate you, with every cell in my body because you are a lying jackass who I wish I never met. I am in love with Lance Hunter, one of the best men I know and I would never do anything to sabotage that relationship – not like you did. And I know that it hurts you that someone else makes me happy, someone else gets to love me, and I’m happy that you feel that pain. So, leave me the hell alone because if I ever see your face again, I will make you beg for death.” You threatened before walking back to your boyfriend.
That was the last time you ever saw Grant Ward’s face.

prompt: write something bad :)
YOU THOUGHT YOU HAD ME WITH THIS.
BUT YOU WERE WRONG.
I TRIUMPHED.
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
...
(clears throat)
Anyway, enjoy.
Once upon a time, there was a kingdom called Cryptun and it was ruled by the kind and beautiful Princess Ka-rah. Princess Ka-rah was as kind as she was beautiful and everyone in her kingdom loved her because she was the best princess ever and she made sure they were always happy.
One day, Princess Ka-rah was travelling to a village on the border of her kingdom when she found a handsome young man lying on the side of the road. He looked hurt so Princess Ka-rah decided to bring him back to her castle and help him get better.
When the handsome young man finally woke up, he told Princess Ka-rah that his name was Mi-key and he had been attacked by evil pirates who had stolen everything he had. Princess Ka-rah felt bad for him so she told him that he could stay with her until he was all better and could go home.
While Mi-key was getting better in Princess Ka-rah's castle, he caused a lot of trouble like a naughty stray puppy. Mi-key played a lot of pranks and made Princess Ka-rah very angry a lot of times but the pranks were actually really funny and no one ever got hurt and also he would say the funniest jokes ever and she would laugh until she forgot why she was angry at him.
After another one of Mi-key's pranks one morning, Princess Ka-rah was chasing him through the palace garden to scold him when suddenly a giant robot T-Rex appeared and attacked her. Just as it was going to really hurt her, Mi-key flew into the air and used his magic cape to defeat the giant robot T-Rex.
Princess Ka-rah was very happy he had saved her and actually she secretly like-liked him a lot so she asked him if he wanted to stay with her forever. Mi-key was also very happy because he secretly like-liked her a lot too so he said yes and the giant robot T-Rex became their pet.
While they were having a party to celebrate Mi-key staying, however, a dark cloud of evil magic appeared in the room and two ugly evil-looking women came out of it. The older ugly evil-looking woman turned out to be Queen Le-xe of the nearby kingdom of Daxxim and the other one was her daughter Princess Lee-na. Queen Le-xe was actually the evil stepmother of Mi-key who was actually the prince of Daxxim and she was there to kill him so that her daughter Princess Lee-na could rule Daxxim instead.
Princess Ka-rah was very angry at Prince Mi-key for not telling her that he was actually a prince but Prince Mi-key told her that he had been hurt that day by evil pirates that Queen Le-xe had sent to kill him. He told her that he had been scared to tell her the truth because he didn't want to go home and get killed but also because he like-liked her a lot the moment he saw her and wanted to stay with her instead.
Even though she was still a little angry at Prince Mi-key, Princess Ka-rah decided to forgive him because she was super kind and because she still like-liked him a lot too so she told Queen Le-xe that she wasn't going to let the ugly evil stepmother queen or her ugly evil daughter hurt him.
Queen Le-xe and Princess Lee-na were very angry so they decided to try and kill Princess Kara too but Princess Kara and Prince Mi-key used their magic capes to fight the evil queen and princess and they won. Then the giant robot T-Rex which had also been sent by the evil Queen Le-xe to kill Prince Mikey chomp-chomp-chomped the evil queen and princess because they were really really mean to him last time.
Now that Queen Le-xe and Princess Lee-na were dead, Prince Mi-key was safe and he could go home to become the king of Daxxim. Even though she was very happy for him, Princess Ka-rah was also very sad because she didn't want to say goodbye to Prince Mi-key.
Then Prince Mi-key said he didn't want to leave her so he asked her to marry him and bring their kingdoms together. Princess Ka-rah was really really happy to hear that so of course she said yes and they had a big beautiful wedding and lived happily ever after and had lots of beautiful babies.
---xXx---
“The end,” Abigail finished reading with a proud smile on her face before looking up at her parents who were sitting on the couch in front of her. “What do you think of my story, Mommy, Daddy?”
Both Kara and Mike could only blink, stupefied, as they tried to find the words to answer their daughter. “Well... it's, um... it's very... unique,” Kara ventured hesitantly. “Just, um... I just have a few questions?”
Mike covertly pinched her thigh with just enough strength to get her attention. “Kara, are you seriously going to critique our six-year-old daughter's writing assignment?”
“I'm not critiquing! I just want to clarify a few things!” Kara hissed angrily before plastering a smile on her face and turning back towards an earnest and oblivious Abigail. “So, um... Why is... Shouldn't Princess Ka-rah be a queen if she's ruling her kingdom?”
“But princesses are cooler than queens, Mommy!” Abigail protested with a frown.
“I... I see...” It was only then that Kara remembered they'd had a Disney Princesses movie marathon during Abigail's sleepover party just a week ago. “Okay, um... So how was it Princess Ka-rah didn't recognise... um, Prince Mi-key if he was from a kingdom so close to hers? I mean, she had to have seen him at least once before, right?”
“Oh, she's just silly like that,” Abigail giggled.
Mike made a shoddy attempt at disguising his snicker with a cough that turned into a pained wheeze when Kara ground her heel into his foot.
“A-And... why a giant robot T-Rex?” Kara asked next, knowing that her husband would be even more insufferable if she asked more questions about Princess Ka-rah's 'silliness'.
Abigail beamed. “Because robots are cool and dinosaurs are cool so robot dinosaurs are twice as cool!”
“...I see.” It struck Kara then that 'because it's cool' was probably going to be the reason for all the random elements in her daughter's story. “Is that... Is that why Prince Mi-key suddenly has a magic cape too?”
“That's because he's a superhero!” Abigail cheerfully corrected her mother as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Mike instantly sat up straight. “Wait, he's a prince and a superhero?”
“Uh huh!”
Kara glared at her husband and the stupid self-satisfied grin growing on his face, all too sure exactly what he was thinking. “Well then, that means Princess Ka-rah is a superhero too since she also has a magic cape, right?” A magic cape she didn't have until that last moment out of the blue, she added mentally.
Abigail nodded vigorously, too caught up in her enthusiasm to notice the looks her parents were giving each other. “That's another reason they're perfect together!”
“...Okay...” Deciding that she was probably going to get even stranger answers if she asked any more questions about this particular aspect of the story, Kara moved on but not before throwing one last glare in Mike's direction. “So... um, one last question: Was it really necessary for, uh, Queen Le-xe and Princess Lee-na to be, um... eaten by the... giant robot T-Rex?”
“But they're evil, Mommy!” Abigail insisted in a way that only a six year old could. “Evil people should get eaten by giant robot T-Rexes! Then there would be less evil people in the world and the robot T-Rexes won't go hungry!”
It was at that point that Kara finally gave up and decided to let things be... until she heard Mike let out another poorly disguised snicker. That was it. If she had to suffer – okay, so maybe she had brought it on herself but that was not the point – then so did he. “So what did you think of the story, honey?” she asked in a voice that dripped with false sweetness.
Mike predictably choked once he realised both his wife and daughter were now looking at him very intensely for different reasons. “Uh... I've, uh... never heard anything like it before,” he floundered for a bit at first before inspiration struck and he beamed. “It's very avant-garde for sure.”
Abigail's eager expression turned into one of adorable confusion. “Evan... card...?” she tried and failed to repeat what her father had said. “What does that mean, Daddy?”
The smile on Mike's face instantly vanished. “Uhhh... It means rich people will pay a lot of money for it!” he blurted out the first thing that came to mind.
Just like that, Abigail's smile returned in full force. “So it's good?”
Once again, Mike was rendered speechless and even Kara had to blink at their daughter's conclusion. “Uhhh... yes...?” he offered uncertainly.
“Yay! Thanks, Mommy, Daddy!” With a great big cheer, Abigail ran over to hug both her parents in turn. “I'm going to go draw pictures to go with my story now!”
For several long minutes after Abigail had run off to her room, both Kara and Mike could do nothing more than stare blankly at the spot where their daughter had been standing.
Unsurprisingly, Kara was the first to speak. “She's not going to... draw us, is she?”
Mike levelled a flat look at her. “Considering the names of her characters are nearly identical to ours, what do you think?”
“Oh god...” she groaned in embarrassment as she buried her face in her hands. “Her teachers are going to think- I don't even know what they're going to think about us now.”
“You're overreacting,” he brushed off her fretting breezily. “At most, they'll probably chalk it up to how much she loves us or something. Which, you know, is pretty true since she clearly thinks we're cool enough to be royalty and superheroes at the same time.”
“Of course you'd focus on that part...” she muttered accusingly. “I bet you didn't even notice that our daughter seems to have forgotten the 'stranger danger' talk we had with her if she's writing about bringing home random guys lying on the side of the road as a good thing...”
“Kara, it's a story that didn't even make sense most of the time! I mean, pirates on land? A giant robot T-Rex? Magic capes appearing out of nowhere? You're really taking it way too seriously.”
“Am not! I-I'm just... concerned about what it might mean! Mike, our daughter is writing about... about people getting essentially murdered in a very gruesome manner!”
“Evil people, Kara. And they're just characters.”
“Characters very obviously based on two people we know!”
“Two people we know and really don't like, I might add. Which is probably where she got the inspiration. Although I'm not sure how to feel about the idea of a fictional Lex Luthor in drag being my evil stepmother...”
“Mike, would you please focus?! Our daughter's apparently in favour of some kind of... extreme vigilante justice!”
“Again, it's just a story. Besides, if you can fantasise about throwing your sadistic boss into the sun with powers you don't have to blow off steam, I think we can let our daughter imagine obviously evil people getting eaten by giant robot T-Rexes that don't exist.”
“I should've known you'd react like this. Or should I say I should've expected nothing less especially since she probably got this from you?”
“What's that supposed to mean?”
“You! You're such a... a... weirdo sometimes! Like how you insist that orange juice should go well on cereal just because it's normal to have them both in a single breakfast!”
“Yeah, well, you married and had a kid with this weirdo so what does that say about you?”
Abigail paid no attention to the sound of her parents bickering in the living room. After all, she already knew that this fight would end the same way all the others had in the past: They would get all kissy-kissy, lock themselves in their bedroom, make a lot of funny noises and then be really happy for the rest of the day.
Sure enough, the sound of their bedroom door clicking shut followed not long after but by then Abigail was too engrossed drawing the wedding of Princess Ka-rah and Prince Mi-key to notice.

i’m so sorry this is so incredibly long lmao. i’m just sitting on all this s4 stuff and i want to talk about it.
bottom line, i’m excited. i’m just happy to see that they’re filming again tbh, and i hope that they’ll be staying as safe and healthy as possible and that there won’t be any more major delays.
as for the content, i’m pretty happy about that, too. i love all of these characters and dynamics pretty equally, so any content with any of them is great to me. i think there was also a pic of priah on set that day, too, but it was far away and you couldn’t really see her that well. ultimately, it seems like there will be a lot of s1 and s2 vibes with the whole school setting, as a large part of the main cast will be together at hawkins high instead of off doing their own things during the summer.
i know a ton of people want a winter season, but i personally think it’ll be spring and i think nancy’s outfit in particular kinda points in that direction. plus, i don’t think they’d skip past nancy, robin, and jonathan’s senior year or the party’s first year of high school/el’s potential first year of school ever. they could do fall again and start right where we left off in s3 with the 3 month time jump, or they could do flashbacks to the holidays and time we’ll be missing. but i think the bulk of the season will be set in spring. spring has easter, easter = resurrection, david keeps referring to hopper being alive as a resurrection, strangerwriters twitter specifically brought up making easter jokes with hopper’s name, etc.
i have to bring up the s4 audition tapes that surfaced a while ago. i know they’re a controversial topic (are they real? should we put any thought into them? do they actually reflect any part of s4 at all? why would these be open to the public if they’re legit? etc., etc.), but for this ask and for the part of me that’s grasping onto like... any potential s4 info, i’m gonna be looking at them as if they’re real.
this one is for ‘warden hatch’, who is the head of a psychiatric hospital. now, we know pennhurst is gonna be in s4. we know natalia filmed there before production shut down. people said maya was also on set that day. the scenes in this audition have him talking to two girls who happen to be very smart and have a taste for investigating. they’re obviously lying about being in college (or, at least, at that particular college with that particular professor), so i think it counts as confirmation that the two of them are still in high school, or at the very least working around hawkins. i just can’t see why nancy would be at hawkins high if she wasn’t still a student.
this one is for ‘eddie’, the ‘80s metalhead who is into metallica, loves d&d, and is a potential ally. he’s also apparently a drug dealer. so. his audition mentions hellfire a lot. ‘the hellfire club’ is the name of the first episode of s4. and now we have a picture of gaten on set in a shirt that says ‘hellfire club’. at the end of s3, in the news report, they allude to dungeons and dragons being linked to satanism. it seems like this is something the hellfire club (apparently, a club for lovers of d&d) will be dealing with. there’s also a present rivalry of ‘jocks v. nerds’ with the club and the basketball team, which we know will also play a part in s4. in the audition, ‘eddie’ is talking to ‘paul’ (”you were wearing your weird al shirt”) and ‘curtis’ (”you were wearing whatever shit your mom got you from the goddamned gap”), who are... obviously dustin and mike. they tell him that ‘fred’ (lucas) will be missing the club meeting because he has to play basketball.
which brings us to ‘jason’ and the most uh... obvious? of the audition tapes. this is a scene from a pep rally for a championship basketball game, where ‘jason’ literally name drops heather, billy, and hopper, who all “perished in that fire” (aka the cover up for the battle of starcourt). now, ‘jason’ is dating ‘molly’, a cheerleader who goes to ‘eddie’ to buy drugs (which i think is the second scene included in ‘eddie’s’ audition above). this second ‘jason’ audition has the pep rally scene as well as a scene where ‘jason’ tells the basketball team they need to hunt down the ‘freaks’ in the hellfire club (but especially ‘eddie’) because something happened to ‘molly’ and he blames them (bc of the whole drugs and satanists thing). one of the basketball players speaks up to tell him that they aren’t satanists, it’s just a d&d club. i believe this basketball player is lucas (”and how exactly is it you know all that?” “my sister, she’s like.. a total nerd. she plays sometimes.”) and the basketball team/jason have no idea that he’s affiliated with the hellfire club.
so there are a few different situations which could lead up to the scene in the pictures with dustin and max, but there’s one more audition i need to talk about first. this isn’t the full audition because the original was deleted, but mrs. kelley is the new guidance counselor at hawkins high. her audition video seems to be a scene where she’s talking to a student about their home life and their grades. the situation in the scene is very reminiscent of max’s current situation and i think the full scene even mentioned the loss of a brother or something ? so, one parent is drinking and having to work two jobs after one asshole stepparent leaves, but things are still better with them gone. i think max might be retreating a little, pulling away from the party. in fact, i think both physical and emotional distance is going to be a theme in s4. like, not only is everyone in different places, but they’re going to be drifting into new situations with new people and new interests and all these new personal conflicts, i guess.
so, if we’re operating under the assumption that the audition vids are legit, maybe the scene is after the pep rally and dustin is checking up on max. she’s been hit pretty hard by billy’s death bc despite everything, despite how messed up and complicated everything was, he’s still been right there with her for years and she had to watch him die brutally. maybe she doesn’t want to think about it and maybe when ‘jason’ mentions his loss, it brings everything to the surface. or, maybe the scene is after the hellfire club meeting. dustin could be asking if she’s seen lucas or if she wants to be his replacement at the meeting. whatever it is, it doesn’t look like it ends on a very positive note.
uhhhhh in conclusion, nancy’s outfit suggests a spring season, she should still be in school along with robin, dustin is a part of the hellfire club, max is emo, and i’m very excited and happy.

pls can u just rant about 1990s eddie, everything and anything, he needs more love 🥺
Okay. Finally getting to this.
So, I L O V E Miniseries Edward Kaspbrak.
This might be all over the place, and long, this will mostly be adult Eddie, and at the end I’ll talk a little about young Eddie. (I have only read half of the book ffr) also some of this is from notes I took while drunkenly rewatching the miniseries. So it might not be great, but you only asked for a rant <3
Firstly, I don’t really like what It Chapter 2 did to Eddie, a risk analyst is a huge discredit to Eddie I think, because despite his traumas and abuse, in the book/miniseries Eddie owned his own limo business - which was VERY successful. Starting a business can be a huge risk, and that alone speaks volumes for his character. But looking into it, it shows he had intelligence, charisma, perseverance and bravery. You could put a lot of money into a business venture and have it completely flop, it’s a gutsy move. And Eddie Kaspbrak took a risk, and became damn successful.
Which leads me to my next problem with Ch.2 Eddie. The clothes he wears. Eddie’s fashion in the miniseries is immaculate, he dresses fucking amazing. Like described in the books, gucci loafers wearing bitch. He owns a successful business and he LOOKS like it, he shows pride in what he does and his achievements in how he dresses, in designer SHIT. He knows what looks good, he’s stylish and fairly effeminate - which I think is really great representation for other men, especially for when the movie was released/when it was set. miniseries Eddie Kaspbrak said no to toxic masculinity, you can be well put together, stylish, not to conform to typical overly masculine traits, and still be successful, brave and no less of a man. Successful and the only male adult loser with s t y l e. I’m sure there were so many men who felt relieved to see a character like Eddie Kaspbrak in the media.
Adult Ch.2 Eddie’s clothes were fugly which goes with his fugly stupid job. But something I didn’t really connect was in @letsgetreddie‘s post recently (which finally gave me the boost to finally get this ask done, thank you btw <3) was that adult ch.2 Eddie dressed how his mum dressed him as a child. Which, is just... another huge discredit to him as a character. I understand that’s probably what they were going for, but I still think it’s a huge discredit!!!! He was so much more than his mother’s abuse, and his fashion in the miniseries really amplified that to me. And as they also said in their post, that ain’t cute. 10 points to miniseries Eddie.
One of my favourite moments is when Eddie goes to the pharmacy and sees Mr. Keene. Eddie thanks him for trying to tell him the truth about his fake medicine, Mr. Keene (who at a point seemed to be Pennywise) grabs him, Eddie’s terrified but he doesn’t react violently, doesn’t shout, he very kindly asks to be let go. He doesn’t want to inflict any harm, and as somebody who’s worked in a care home, I really appreciate the kindness he had at that moment. That he wouldn’t harm Mr. Keene despite evil clown man being in him.
Eddie Kaspbrak in the miniseries, like I’ve seen in the book so far, at his core is very loving and kind. He’s not the “dude” “bro” snapping constantly at his friends type of guy. He loves the Losers, he thinks they’re hilarious, but he also stands up for himself, and can be a funny snarky shit (I hate it when you stutter my name Bill, you sound like Elmer Fudd - like damn child Eddie. Not an exact quote, but it was along those lines)
Speaking of kid Eddie. There’s the trauma he goes through living with his mother, the placebo medicine, the Munchausen Syndrome by proxy. He’s very sheltered and afraid of a lot of stuff, he panics a lot. But it’s so beautiful how strong he is when he’s with the Losers. For example at some point, when the Losers give him a concerned look (I think it was as they were going into the sewers) he says “I’m with my friends, right?” He sounded so brave and assured in himself.
When they’re fighting It as kids, after Stan is captured by Pennywise, Beverly is fumbling to get the slingshot and silver, and Eddie steps forward with his inhaler, and gives out the famous line “This is battery acid, you slime.” despite his sheltered lifestyle from his mother, her saying she didn’t want him to be around the Losers anymore, despite the fears he has, he steps forward to save his friends without hesitation. Which is SO FUCKING BRAVE, they’re CHILDREN.
Not only that, but when the pact is made, he also agreed to come back with no hesitation. With the Losers he’s brave and FREE.
I’ll just be adding on to the drunk notes I took while watching the miniseries last. I’m starting to lose concentration so this part won’t be structured at all, it’s just short ramblings.
- He still lives with his mother and I hate that. -10/10
- Didn't cut his fortune cookie with a fork 1/10 (Great moment in the book. Loved it. Sad that it didn’t make the miniseries)
R E D D I E. Eddie lying on the floor with Richie, cuddled on the couch with Beverly and Richie. The Reddie vibes are way stronger in the miniseries, and their moments together are so tender and sweet. The scene in the library where they’re giggling and playing with each other and he holds up the thing that says silence????? *CHEFS KISS*
He’s so damn SWEET in the miniseries, he looks like he’s having fun with the Losers, he looks free and at ease, like how it showed him as a kid. He looks safe with the Losers, and the whole thing with the Losers is that they stick together and feel safe with one another.
Obviously thinks Ben's hot - I wrote this when I was drunkenly watching so I don’t remember the part in particular, but I believe myself.
Eddie is giggling always, and I LOVE IT, I’m pretty sure he giggles a few times in the book, so where was it in the movies?? I love that they didn’t try to make him overly masculine, because from what I’ve read, that just isn’t Eddie. It doesn’t make him a weak character or person, he cries and that’s damn realistic, there’s an evil space clown that killed children. It’s just great that they made him so open, I love that.
Immaculate hair - Wrote this note drunk, but we all know his hair is immaculate, no need to say any more.
"I don't know what's going to happen when the sun comes up, but I do know that I appreciate what you've done for everyone" GIVES MIKE THE RESPECT AND RECOGNITION HE DESERVES.
H a n d s o m e Dennis Christopher is so handsome, and Eddie is one of the more attractive members of the adult miniseries Losers Club (along with Mike and Bev)
Eddie: convinces Richie to stay with a look and a touch - another quick note I took, this is as Richie talks about the chance of leaving Derry. Honestly, they’re in love, and I love it. Like I said, the reddie vibes are way better in the miniseries.
The “i believe in santa/tooth fairy/Easter bunny, but I don’t believe in you.” And then again, “this is battery acid, you slime” scene, this had me in tears when I first watched it. Again he puts himself in front of the Losers, to protect his best friends the others he LOOKS INTO THE DEADLIGHTS WITHOUT BEING CAUGHT IN THEM, and gets the other losers out of it. He’s gone through a lot of trauma, he still lived with his abuser in the miniseries, but he’s just so GOD DAMN BRAVE.
The only Eddie to get out of the sewers/neibolt street. And that’s how it SHOULD BE.
Tumblr media
In conclusion. I love Miniseries Edward Kaspbrak, he’s a cutie, but he’s also brave as fuck. And I respect the fuck out of him. Isn’t a stupid risk analyst who  says dude and bro like the movie. But also isn’t fatphobic like in the book.
I would trust Miniseries Eddie to watch my drink, he’s so sweet, and caring. And he’s the best adult Eddie.

I am Machine: Chapter 5
Sleep didn’t come to Alec this time, he watched as Lefty and Helpy slept, they finally went to bed at 1:21am, while Alec was left think about what Lefty said.
That lock existed because a Lonely Freddy came into their room while they slept. Lefty knew they were already dangerous, he just didn’t know the extent of it until he met Alec.
Alec knew if they got rid of the Lonely Freddy when Lefty talked to “Mike” that he wouldn’t be here right now, but Alec didn't blame Lefty for this.
If Lefty had his way initially...... He would have unintentionally saved Alec.
This room wasn’t as cold as others Alec had been in previously, he did still wish he had that blanket he found, recalling it was most likely left at that guy's house. His name was Lewis Anthony, Alec remembered, he is the Music Man. Would be likely he'd get the blanket back? It was soft and great to lay on, his argument was despite being covered in fur now, he could feel the cold more intensely now, he hated cold, which is why Alec hated Winter.
The hours flew by and eventually Alec heard movement, he turned to see Lefty had opened his eyes and looked at the displayed time from the clock that sat on the desk where Helpy often worked.
"12:10pm....” Lefty mumbled pulling off his blanket and standing up, stretching out.
"Aren’t you.... Late for work?” Alec asked him knowing it was a few hours pass opening time.
Alec saw Lefty jump slightly, “Oh I forgot about you being here.....” He turned to him, “I'm only use to hearing Helpy’s voice when I wake up. Seems he still sleeping like a cat,” He looked over at the small bear who was all cuddled up against the blanket, looking so peaceful.
"So um.....” Lefty was trying to think of what to say to Alec, he knew Alec was most likely a bit emotionally unstable being in the wrong body.
"You obviously don't.... Want to stay this way?” Lefty knew what the answer was but he needed to hear it from Alec.
Alec huffed, “No, I don't enjoy being a perfect height for people to kick me.”
"I don't want a repeat of the kicking incident with Helpy,” Lefty grabbed his red hat from where it sat on his black bedside table and placed it on his head. He then lifted up the red ribbon and began to tie it around his neck as he spoke, “He was aching all day as was Freddy. Benedict had to delicately put back his spine into place, much like humans, if robots break their spines, we don't stand a chance unless it's all fixed up. I could've broken that teenager's spine if they weren't so many witnesses.”
He spoke about teenagers quite bitterly, that seemed to be his only real experience with a teenager.
“Really?” Alec asked. Alec had yet to tell Lefty his age so he was unaware he was speaking to a teenager at this very moment.
"Well I am strong enough to break a spine....” Lefty had adjusted his bowtie so it sat perfectly, “But I did at lease get to scream at the teenager for a solid twenty minutes for thinking it was funny to kick a small robot who didn't even provoke him, my voice was gone later but it was worth seeing that pathetic brat's face go white.. He was.... Scared.... Of what I'd do.....” Lefty frowned realising something, “Alec... I must ask and don’t think this is because I don't believe you...”
"You don't?” Alec asked sounding unintentionally very worried which Lefty immediately picked up on.
"No! No! I do believe you.... But this situation..... It's strange to me... I've never dealt with this.... I need to know this however, Alec how did Fred get you? In the sense of.... How did this happen? I’m still unclear on how.”
"I went into a backroom-” Alec explained with Lefty unexpectedly cutting him off with:
"You are not allowed in backrooms unless you work here. Customers are not permitted to roam in those areas for their own safety.”
It sounded like Lefty was reciting a rule that was well known, Alec wondered how often he had to repeat that one rule to remember it. Alec knew he broke that rule and didn't care now, so he answered “Obviously I know that.”
"I'm surprised you weren’t found by an employee. I myself roam those backrooms often when I'm not on stage, I'm surprised I didn't encounter you unless I was on stage for a long segment during that time.” Lefty responded.
“Can I continue?”
"Go ahead,” Lefty answered, “Wait, can you describe the room? Any props inside?”
"It had like... Old arcade machines.. Some broken toys...” Alec recalled.
“Oh yes, that's the south west backroom, we keep various props lying around in there,” Lefty nodded, “I have seen a Lonely Freddy in there about five months ago but it looked deactivated so I didn’t bother with it. I need to remember what Marionette has told me, which is “things are often not what they appear,” which is why I believe you, you appear as one of the deceivers but you are actually one who was hoodwinked.”
"Lonely Freddy approached me... It seemed normal at first, then he got extremely personal...” Lefty tilted his head confused so Alec had told him about the questions he recalled which were suspicious, “Asking who I admired, what would I do if I had to hurt someone I love, what I fear, and asking.... Asking... Asking...”
What's your biggest regret Alec?
A chill ran down his spine.
You are weak for telling him that. Pathetic.
"Alec. Alec. Alec! Hey!” Lefty had snapped his fingers in front of his face to bring his attention back, Alec blinked and looked at Lefty who had gone from standing in front of his bed to kneeling in front of him. He had been so out of it that he didn't see Lefty move.
"What exactly were you asked? I’d like to know,” Lefty prompted.
He felt like he was forced to answer, not because of that single golden honey colour eye staring at him to force an answer, but because Lefty needed the answer, “What’s my biggest regret...” Alec told him.
Lefty's pupil noticeably shrunk in shock, he had either heard that particular question before or was surprised it asked that question.
Could he have heard it before?
When he blinked, his eye grew to normal size, “Why didn't you run away? Lonely Freddy couldn’t have possibly stopped you. You could have kick it, I kicked one once and it went down easily.”
"I couldn't move.... Those eyes... Glowing...” It still seemed so hazy to him, yet very real. He remembered his panic, the disappointment of hearing his mom and Hazel so close by, yet unable to find him.
"That girl....” Lefty himself had recalled what he encountered and his face turned to rage, “It's the same thing!!!! You were put into a trance Alec, Lonely Freddy hypnotised you, by using known the well known method one, eye contact and possibly using his voice as some sort of lure....” Lefty spoke as a matter of fact, “An unspoken rule of keeping yourself safe from evil is to not look something strange in the eye if you don't know what it could do.”
"Hey I didn't know that! It's not my fault!!” Alec shouted.
"I was not blaming you! You did nothing wrong!” Lefty exclaimed, “So unable to move... Glowing eyes...... What happened next?”
"I closed my eyes and woke up.... He was gone... I notice everything was bigger.”
"You didn’t initially make a connection?” Lefty asked, “Lonely Freddy gone, the world looks bigger? Didn't you see the fact you had paws now?” Lefty had held out and extended out his own paw to show him.
Lefty had pointed out the obvious glaring issues that Alec overlooked, “No I didn't,” Alec answered, “I saw my reflection later and I knew what happened at that point.”
Lefty tapped his chin, “The fact your voice doesn’t sound like a Lonely Freddy and you have green eyes instead of blue, and you perfectly describe a very textbook case of hypnosis... It all adds up.... But why did you hide from me? From the others? I understand hiding from humans but if you came to me with the story sooner, I could have helped you, perhaps I could have tended to this as soon as it happened. I could have even stopped Lonely Freddy from leaving the pizzeria in your body.”
Alec could easily answer, “I was scared....”
"Scared of us?”
"I didn’t know what you'd do! You could have quickly turned on me-!!”
"You thought we'd kill you???” Lefty asked seemingly surprised at this.
"That guy Lewis said you hate Lonely Freddy-”
"I knew even at that moment you were listening to us! I didn’t tell Lewis because he would have immediately gotten hysterical, much like how you are. How old are you suppose to be?”
"Fifteen.”
"Oh you’re a teenager.”
"Why does that change anything?” Alec almost sneered at him.
"No it doesn’t, you're still a human, I sense it. You are not suppose to be a robot. I just didn’t guess you were a teenager... But now that I think.... It makes sense...?” Lefty looked around as he spoke, “A young child would have approached us regardless of what they appeared as. An adult wouldn’t even be here, they'd figure out a way to escape. A teenager would probably panic like you.”
"Are you insulting me?” Alec questioned.
"No, it's an observation,” Lefty answered.
"Speaking of that, why is it so quiet? The pizzeria's open... Isn't it?
"Our rooms are soundproof, behind three different tightly locked doors so we don't hear what's going on in the pizzeria, and also kids can’t accidentally wander in this area. It's good too because we all have different sleep schedules, me and Helpy usually sleep from 2:00am to around 12:00pm, but if I have to work earlier for a birthday that specifically requested me, I have a nap at about 2:00pm until 5:00pm. If Helpy works all night helping Mike, he's asleep from 10:00am to about midnight. It's easy for us to adjust our sleeping schedules.”
"Easy for you, humans don’t work that way,” Alec scoffed.
"You know if you have trouble sleeping.... You should try some Chamomile tea before bed. You're still able to eat and drink but it's not necessary to survive like humans,” Lefty replied walking over to the door, “Would you like to join me for something to eat or stay here?”
Alec thought back to that strange scrapping noise on the door last night, “I’ll come with you...” Alec walked to be alongside him as Lefty unlocked the door and opened it.
They walked in quiet, as Lefty wasn't as talkative as Helpy. Alec saw he was not even looking at him, he had a look on his face like he was mentally somewhere else. He'd be exactly like that when he was being lectured by his parents but the thing was when he wanted them to acknowledge him.... They ignored him.
He missed his family.
Lefty opened one door and stepped aside so Alec could walk through. Lefty then took the lead again and opened a door at the end of the hall. They arrived at a sort of small communal area there was a kitchen set up, an area with sofas.
A man was in one of those sofas, his back turned away, so he didn’t see them, Lefty realised the situation and shoved Alec along until he was hidden behind the kitchen island counter top.
"Otis?” Lefty asked trying to act as casual as he possibly could to not accidentally reveal Alec.
"Oh! I didn’t hear you come in! Good morning- I mean Good afternoon! It's afternoon....”
"It's okay, you on a break?”
"Lunch break, I'll be gone in ten minutes, I guess I could go now if I'm bothering you.”
"Oh no! You can stay Otis, there's no problem here....” Lefty replied, “Say.... I wanted to ask.... You once spoke about.... Something... Called the Shadow Puppet, he was in your story... Is he based on the legend I read about once?”
"Legend no, Shadow Puppet is real Lefty, apperantly he was once a friendly man but something changed about him and he changed for the worse, embraced the darker magic elements and used them for diabolical purposes. You know magic is suppose to be used for good intentions and those who use it for evil become disfigured..... Anyway why are you asking?”
"Hypnotising and Body swap are generally dark magic right? The evil side tend to use them to get an advantage don't they?”
"I don't like where this is going Lefty-” Otis looked disturbed by the topic.
"I’m asking because!.... Because!......” Lefty looked around the room then looked back at Otis, “Can you keep a secret?” His voice had lowered to almost a whisper.
"Sure!”
"This will not leave this room at any point,” Lefty said, he turned to Alec, then he kneeled down and lifted him up.
"What are you doing?!?” Alec asked extremely panicked because Lefty had lifted him off the ground and he knew a person was there who would see him.
"Calm down, Otis's as dangerous as butterfly,” Lefty assured him.
Otis's eyes widen, “My! Is that a Lonely Freddy? I thought all of them were gone!”
"This is Alec..... I was right Otis... He's suppose to be human like you, Lonely Freddy had hypnotic capabilities with a body swap tied to that, and it slipped pass all of us!” Lefty held Alec like a child, “Seems impossible when you consider you're a magician, Security is an anti-kidnapping measure that has always worked, I'm able to detect souls and anything suspicious, not to mention we have other staff who are almost always actively patrolling the pizzeria! It just seems so impossible yet it did happen... Now, do I have your permission to go to your house and look for anything that could help me, help Alec, go back to his normal body?”
Otis was thinking for a minute, “I see..... Does anyone else?”
"Helpy knows but Foxy saw him at one point, and as stubborn as he is, he's likely not to leave it alone so easily,” Lefty spoke, “He could be a problem.”
"You will probably have to at lease tell Freddy eventually, Alec can not be kept a secret especially if you, and I think you do, have any intention of returning Alec to his correct body,”
"I will tell him soon, but I don't want to find out you've been going around telling anyone else. No one else should know unless I told them,” Lefty said as he put Alec on the ground.
"How.... Do you know how it happened?”
“Only Alec really knows, it could be possible that his memory of that event is foggy like how some victims of hypnosis are, they struggle to recall the exact event but remember the before and after. I didn’t see it happening but apperantly it's remarkably similar to an incident I have seen but with a different outcome because I interfered in the other incident.”
“30 years have gone by without a single incident in the company’s history....”
"That’s why I have strong belief this isn’t a coincidence..... I think.... He's back, and he's trying something new..... He doing that in hope that we don't recognise his new signature, but it aligns with the whole concept of “Harvesting Soul Remnant”. I need a word with Security when they aren’t busy.”
"Him...? This is serious....”
"It’s also just a theory I have, but it seems very close to what he did apperantly... This could be someone new though, I do know Mr. Emily didn't build these things.... This is what I'll do, Alec will stay in my room, once I tell Freddy, I'll be fine letting him roam at night, but not at day. If kids see him, they'll go ballistic. If the staff see him, he'll be put out for good, I won’t let that happen until they're swapped back, then I'll give the real Lonely Freddy to Benedict so he permanently shut down the vile thing.”
Lefty looked at Alec as he spoke, “As much as I hate this situation because this is an area I've never explored in magic.... Alec is technically only still alive because this.... Is a vessel for his soul, self conscious, and memories. Mike won't give him a chance to explain... Alec you would be immediately shut down if you were found and that..... That would officially end your life, it's like turning off a life support unit,” Lefty explained, “My priority will be keeping you alive, I expect you to do all you can also to prevent being caught by the staff members.”
“Well you're talking about keeping me alive so......” Alec responded realising that all he had said made sense even if the whole thing appears quite grim.
"The only other human I feel safe to tell is Lewis, he'll understand this... I only told Otis so I could look through his stuff. I'd only tell Mike if I need to, I'd rather not tell him if I don’t have to...”
"Yes, yes..... Mike will mostly not listen to Alec because he can't see the truth....” Otis agreed.
"Hopefully now I know about Alec's situation.... I can come up with a plan.... Maybe we could lure the Lonely Freddy back here, or if that isn’t possible, I could ask Lewis to take me and Alec to Alec’s house and we'll swap back there with no one else knowing, it depends on what must be done and what me, Helpy and Security can do.”
Otis shook his head, “This is... Way beyond my understanding.... Do what you must Lefty! You can look through what I have! We must do the right thing and return Alec to his body as soon as possible before the Lonely Freddy does something desperate and undoable to stop your efforts!”
Alec frowned, what exactly would Lonely Freddy do to stop him from returning to his body? Nothing really came to him at that point other than how desperate would that bear get just to keep his identity indefinitely. Fred obviously would not want to blow his cover as an imposter and he obviously hadn’t done so yet if no one came to look for Alec.
Unless they don't know where to look for me.... His mind had said in that moment, Maybe if I asked... Lefty would let me see my house... See my family.
"Thank you Otis,” Lefty smiled.
"Oh Lefty, I wanted to ask you something.”
"Yes?”
"Your room is close to Bonnie's, I was in there last night before I went home because I had hit my head while working, did you... Happen to hear a strange noise last night?” Otis asked.
"A strange noise...?”
"It sounded like scrapping, like something snatching on wood. By the time I looked, the sound stopped and what ever was causing it was gone.”
"Maybe Alec made the noise? He fell over or something?” Lefty suggested.
"No I didn’t, I heard the noise too, and talking, quiet talking,” Alec said.
"Talking..... Helpy got spooked once and told me he was sure someone was outside our door talking quietly. I didn’t think much of it because we have a lock on our door and when I started practicing magic I put a “no evil shall breach” spell on the door, so anything that tries to break in with evil intentions, will be repelled.....”
"Is there anything we should be concerned about?” Alec questioned Lefty.
"Security did tell me once that if we hear barking outside at night we should make sure the doors are locked.... I thought it was funny initially, we aren’t close enough to any houses that we would hear any dog barking.... But then I heard barking a couple of nights ago and it sounded very close..... I looked later.... There were big paw prints in front of the pizzeria... Bigger than any dog that exists... It freaks me out, what happened to you freaks me out!”
Alec nodded, “I know.... It's still surreal for me... I thought this was a nightmare.”
"Lefty, you best hide Alec for now, I believe Fiona and Rockstar Chica are on break soon, and their reactions will... Draw attention...” Otis stood up and walked to the door, “I’ll see you later Lefty, good luck in finding a way to reverse this awful curse.”
Lefty nodded as Otis left the room, Alec looked up at him.
"Curse...?” was the only word out of his month.
"I guess this technically is... A curse,” Lefty responded.
"A curse...” Alec repeated, he had never viewed his situation as a curse.
“But most curses can be reversed! I'm sure there is a way to undo this!” Lefty exclaimed, when he heard Alec repeat it sounding terrified.
"But most people who get cursed deserve it.....” Alec knew that much, he then looked away, “Maybe I did deserve this.....”
"I can see into your soul and I know you did nothing bad enough to deserve this!!!!”
“That's because you really don't know me!” Alec exclaimed angry.
"And that doesn’t matter! I know what I need to!” Lefty yelled back at him with the same amount of rage Alec just had, “You are a teenager who needs to go back to his own body and I will find a way! It'll..... It'll just...... Take time.... It’ll take time to fix the mess you’ve gotten yourself into......” Lefty shook his head.
Alec was silent. He watched Lefty turn his attention away and grabbed the coffee jug from the machine, he then reached up and grabbed a black coloured mug with a strange jagged white stripe pattern that looked like lightning bolts.
Lefty was drinking coffee when Alec spoke.
"Lefty..?”
“What is it Alec?”
He wasn't yelling or ignoring him.
He was actually listening to him.
“I want to go home and make things right,” Alec said, “I’ve done some pretty bad things....”
Lefty looked at Alec, completely focused, Alec felt compelled to say this, “I hurt my sister, I made her cry, and I didn’t apologise for it. I was so angry at her, I thought she was a brat, but it was me, and this is my fault. I didn't mean to make her cry.”
"Oh Alec...” He put down his coffee mug and kneeled down, speaking directly to him, “We all do stupid things in anger, we're so determined to prove a point, when it goes haywire, we can lose our temper, I do it, I've seen Helpy lose his cool when things go wrong, everyone here has gotten frustrated.....”
"My sister.... I was awful to her.... And it was my fault, she wanted to be my friend and I ruined it for no good reason... I hated her for no good reason...”
"Honestly.... I've sometimes become frustrated with Helpy, but I always realise that he is just bothering me because I'm like his brother, and I can’t change that... I feel honoured Helpy considers me as such....” Lefty said, then gave a small smile.
“I’m certain, it is not too late to repair your relationship with your sister, let her be your friend, have a long discussion, tell her how you feel, make sure you let her speak too, be honest with her. I've had to fix my own relationships before, and I always believed it was too far gone to undo my mistakes.... But each time I was wrong, because there's two sides to everything. To me, it appears you were jealous of your sister, perhaps a conversation with your parents isn’t out of line? It might be good to also speak to your parents...”
“It seems your sister wanted nothing more than to be your friend. It's remarkable, true friends, will never be pushed away, even we try to shove them through the front door again and again, treat them as an unwelcomed guest, a nuisance... They always come back to make sure we're okay, because they care.”
"What if she likes the imposter more than me?”
"Lonely Freddy is not her brother. You are, I'm sure... Your sister-”
"Her name is Hazel,” Alec irrupted him to tell him.
"Hazel would rather want her own brother over Freddy any day, plus... I'm certain, he cannot keep up the façade forever... Something will slip, and Hazel may already realise that something is amiss. Lonely Freddy will have no idea how to perfectly mimic you, someone who truly knows you will see something is wrong.”
Alec has a very reassuring conversation with Lefty. Hope you enjoyed Chapter 5.

All I Want For Christmas (Is You) - Richie Tozier
Tumblr media
word count: 5722 warnings: swearing summary: Richie has a bit of a crush on resident Loser (y/n), and everyone else knows it.  He spends most of their annual christmas party getting teased, until finally he’s found a way to make a move (with only a little help from Ben... and a piece of mistletoe) ___
The christmas party was an essential event of the Losers Club.  It was by far the best party they threw, with the presents, the cookie decorating, and the nonstop dancing to christmas music, it was always the best time.
(y/n) and Bev were twirling around in the kitchen to Jingle Bell Rock, waiting for the cookies to cool down enough so they could be frosted.
Eddie and Mike were on present organizing duty, while Bill, Stan, Ben, and Richie, were lounging and doing nothing.  Not that anyone minded.  Eddie had a particular order of passing out gifts, which he’d only trusted Mike’s help with.  And Beverly and (y/n) were always off ditching the boys.
“So, what’d you get (y/n)?” Ben spoke in a bit of a hushed voice.
And even though he hadn’t turned away from his game of checkers with Stanley, they knew that he was talking to Richie.  The boy in question was sprawled on the sofa with his feet kicked up on the armrest, arms folded under his head casually.  He gave Ben a bit of a glare, knowing that this was his way of both teasing him, and prying.
It was a little known fact that Richie had a thing for (y/n).  As in, everyone knew, except for her, or course.  It was honestly a bit of a miracle that she hadn’t figured it out, seeing as the other Losers were always poking fun at him about it.  It’s been months since he’d first admitted to Bill that he was starting to develop feelings for their friend, and the next thing he knew, everyone had heard about it and took it upon themselves to constantly beg him to ask her out.
Thing was, he was pretty sure she didn’t feel the same.  In fact, he was pretty sure she’d never even looked at him as anything more than a friend.  Sure, she was sweet, but she was sweet to everyone.  And she always hugged him goodbye, but she hugged the others too.  And maybe she held his hand that one time at the scary movie, but she was terrified, it’s not like she wanted to hold his hand.
Richie shook his head at the love-obsessed boy on the floor.
“I’m not tellin’ you” He huffed.
“What?” Ben asked, offended by the attitude.  “Why not?”
“Cause” Richie answered bluntly.
“Don’t tell me you’re worried about being teased” Stan snickers, and jumps over one of Ben’s pieces.
“I won’t tease you, promise!” Ben pleads, but Richie just rolls his eyes.  “Please?”
“What’s your fuckin’ deal, man?” Richie asks, “Seriously, what’s with your obsession-?”
“It’s not an obsession,” Ben interrupts, “I just want to see you fall in love with each other”
Bill laughs, which was his first time displaying he was even listening to this conversation.
“That’s d-dumb” He says once his laughter calms down.
“No it isn’t,” Ben argues.  “He obviously likes her a lot-”
“It’s not obvious” Richie grumbles.
“-and maybe if he would just fess up already, she’d tell him that she feels the same way” Ben finishes, and gives an optimistic shrug.
Richie flips him off.
“Ha.  No chance,” Stan snorts.  “What?” He asks innocently when both Ben and Richie gave him a dirty look.  “Richie has never tried to make a move.  He can barely even talk to her, why would she ever take an interest in him if he doesn’t act like he likes her?”
Richie doesn’t say anything, and he would never agree with Stanley out loud.  But he had to admit, there was some logic there.  Why would she like him like that? He had such a hard time keeping his thoughts and feelings to himself when he was around her that he’d distanced himself a bit, maybe even a bit too much…
The boy suddenly shoots up from the sofa, and is out of the living room before anyone can ask where he’s going- not that they don’t have every idea where he’s headed in such a hurry.
(y/n) is giggling uncontrollably when he reaches the kitchen, and the sound alone is enough to make his cheeks and ears burn hot.
He doesn’t even notice Beverly dancing around like a maniac, (y/n) had captured all of his attention.
Her laughter settles when she sees he’s joined them, and she gives him a bright smile.
“Hey,” She greets him, and her smile only widens when she sees how pink his cheeks are.  She found it absolutely adorable when Richie blushes.  “Here to decorate, or eat, because if you eat them all-”
“Decorate” Richie speaks so fast he almost bites his tongue, and he mentally face palms at how stupid he sounds.
Jesus he really had to get control of himself.
“Great!” (y/n) chirps, and moves the tray of sugar cookies to the breakfast bar.  “There’s still a batch in the oven, but if you want to get some started with me you can”
I would decorate a thousand cookies if you asked me to, he thinks.
“Sure” He says.
He takes a seat on the opposite side of the counter she’s standing at, and admires her while she grabs one of the few cans of frosting she’d brought over.
The past four years that they’d thrown a christmas get-together, (y/n) had always brought all the supplies for cookies.  The ingredients, the oven trays, the frosting, the sprinkles- it was her favorite part.  Everyone used to decorate all together, but somewhere along the line, only a couple of their friends helped, and now, it was just her and Beverly.  She never complained, but the more Richie thought about it, the worse he felt for not helping her out more in past years.
Everyone ate the cookies after all, it was her specialty, the least they could do is give her some company while she made them all.
“Trying to figure out what Santa’s gonna bring you this year, Tozier?” (y/n) jokes when she sees the dazed look on his face.
He blinks rapidly, and wills his face not to get hot since she’d caught him staring.
“I was,” He replies, picking up a cookie and one of the knives to spread frosting on it.  “But you could do me one better and just tell me what you got me instead” He says with a nonchalant shrug of his shoulders.
(y/n) lets out a short giggle and shakes her head, spreading frosting over her own cookie.
“Richie, you’ll open it in like, twenty minutes,” She teases.  “Are you that impatient?”
Her eyes meet his for a moment, before quickly glancing back down to her task.
You have no idea how patient I really am, he thinks, but he just laughs, and jokes back with her.
“You could always just let me open it now…” He suggests, and the girl shakes her head.
“You’re something else,” She hums.  “So, what do you want for Christmas anyways?”
“Good fucking grades, I guess” He jokes, and she laughs a bit, but gives him a look.
“Come on, be for real,” She says, placing a white frosted cookie on a separate plate, and picking up another one.  “There’s gotta be something you’re hoping to get”
Richie thinks about it, but he shrugs and puts his cookie next to hers.
“I’m not really crossing my fingers for anything in particular,”
He’s only lying a little bit.  What he really wanted would be a miracle, and there was just no way that it would ever happen.
“But, you know” He shrugs, not finishing his thought.
“Know what?” (y/n) asks with a crinkled brow, wanting to know what he was thinking.
She often wondered what ran through his head in his quiet moments.  It wasn’t often that he was silent, and it had always sparked her curiosity.
“Oh,” Richie looks up to meet her eyes.  She’s halted her actions halfway through frosting a cookie, and there’s an intrigued look on her face.  “Just that surprises are always nice”
It’s one of the kindest things she’s ever heard him say, and it makes her heart flutter a bit that he’d shared something like that with her.  He goes back to frosting cookies, but she’s still smiling at him.
“Yeah” She agrees.
They’re quiet for a bit, listening to cheesy christmas music while Bev dances and belts out the lyrics.  They frost probably twenty cookies in their focused state of mind.
It dawns on (y/n) that it’s been a while since she’s spent one on one time with Richie.  Sure, Beverly was just behind her, but somehow it felt like he was the only one in the room with her.  She wonders when the last time was that she’d hung out with just Richie, and why they had stopped.
A part of her wants to ask him to hang out with her soon, maybe see a movie, but just as she opens her mouth, she shuts it, and shakes her head a bit at herself.  It felt dumb to ask him such a thing, and she found herself embarassed for almost asking.
Richie notices this small action, but he doesn’t say anything about it, and just pretends to be too focused on frosting cookies to have seen it.
A few minutes later, he hears her softly humming to the tune of the song playing, and he tries so hard not to notice.  But the longer she does it, the more he has to focus on biting back a smile.  He’s barely paying attention to what he’s doing he’s so wrapped up in the sweet melody.
He realizes too late that he pressed the knife a bit too hard against the cookie, and it broke clean in half from the pressure.
(y/n’s) humming stopped as she looked over to see what he’d done, and she laughed at the sight of the mess in Richie’s hands.
“How’d you manage to do that?” She asks, taking one half the cookie to nibble on as she searched for paper towels.
“I- I don’t even know-” He stammers out, and gratefully takes the napkin she hands him to wipe the frosting off the palms of his hands.  She’s still giggling quietly to herself.
Richie crams the rest of the cookie into his mouth before he can say something stupid.
“Well?” (y/n) asks, staring at him expectantly.
His eyes widen as he looks at her, nervousness taking over his entire body.  She was batting her eyelashes a bit, and her lips were parted.  She’s waiting for something, but he’s not sure-
“How are they?” She speaks again when he doesn’t answer right away.
“O-oh,” Richie swallows.  “The cookies?”
“Yes, dummy,” She laughs again.  “Are they good?”
“They’re g-great” He can’t seem to stop stuttering, and he just wants to crack his head over the countertop.
“Good” (y/n) grins, and gets back to work with decorating.
“Well, you two have this covered,” Beverly speaks, and it jolts Richie a bit.
I keep forgetting she’s still here.
“I’ll go let everyone know cookies are almost done, and we can do presents soon” The redhead finishes, and leaves them alone in the kitchen.
“Alright” (y/n) replies in a cheerful voice.
Richie pauses for a minute before he sits back down on his stool.  They’re even more alone now, and his heart is beating so hard in his chest that he worries it might burst right through.
“Hey, um, (y/n)?”
Her eyes flicker up to his as she hums in response, before looking back down to her cookie.
He wants to tell her, fuck, he wants to tell her so bad that it hurts, it physicaly pains him to keep everything bottled up and shoved way, way down inside.
But he pussies out before the confession can reach his tongue.
“Sorry I haven’t helped with the cookies before,” He says instead.  She gives him her attention now, a slight furrow on her brow at the apology.  “You really have your hands full with all of these- I guess I just didn’t realize how much work-”
“Don’t worry about it, Richie,” She says dismissively.  “It’s no big deal, I don’t mind it-”
“Still,” He says, and has to look back down at the counter before her gaze makes him blush again.  “I should’ve helped”
(y/n) smiles at the sentiment, and her smile remains as she speaks.
“I do rather enjoy your company, though,” She tells him softly.  “You know, in case you want to help me next year”
And fuck the sweet compliment sens his heart for a loop- he swears he almost fell off his seat.
“Noted” Is all he says, but the blush is back on his cheeks and (y/n) doesn’t miss it.
They’re both smiling to themselves as they finish the cookies.
When Eddie calls that it’s time for presents, they wipe the frosting from their hands and everyone gets situated in the living room.  Bill, Stan, and Ben are sat on the sofa, while (y/n) and Bev are on the floor in front of them.  Eddie, Mike and Richie are kneeling at the coffee table.
They always sat in the same spots every year, like it was a tradition, but really it just felt natural at this point.
“Bev open mine first” (y/n) says excitedly, and Beverly happily agrees, taking the small wrapped box that said it was from (y/n) out of her pile.
When she opened the box, she grinned at the bracelet inside.  It was a homemade friendship bracelet, with green and blue strings tied intricately into a braid.
“I love it!” Beverly declared, already tying it securely on her wrist.
(y/n) laughed, and pulled up the sleeve of her sweater to show her the red and orange bracelet on her wrist.
“I haven’t taken it off since I made them,” She told Beverly proudly.  “It’s been really hard hiding it from you”
The girls laughed and admired the adorable jewelry while the others began to open their gifts.
While Stan was excitedly flipping through a field guide to woodland birds, Richie opened the last gift he had in front of him.  He’d saved the best for last, and (y/n) eagerly watched as he ripped apart the neat wrapping she’d folded it in.
She was biting down on her lip so hard it was starting to go numb, but she was so excited to see Richie open his present that she barely even cared.
She knew she’d done a good job when the boy’s jaw dropped open, and he looked across the room to her in shock, as though to ask if this was even real.
“No fucking way,” He gasped, flipping the CD over in his hands to read the titles on the back.  “How did you even get this?”
Actually, finding a bootleg of The Cure’s concert performances was probably the hardest thing she’s ever had to do.  She’d gotten the other Losers’ gifts within a few days, but tracking down that CD for Richie was near impossible.
“I have my ways” She giggled.
It made her heart feel so full to watch Richie marvel at her gift.
Once everyone’s presents were opened, and Eddie and Stan were frantically picking up the mess of paper and ribbons and bows, Bill set up the ame christmas movie that they watch every year.
(y/n) went back into the kitchen to finish up the last of the cookies.  Adding a few sprinkles, and setting them on plates to bring out to the living room so everyone could enjoy them while watching the movie.
When someone joined her, she was surprised that it wasn’t Richie this time, but Ben.
“Here for first dibs?” She asked, offering him a sugar cookie, which he gladly accepted.
“I was actually gonna ask you where you got that CD,” He said, lingering by the counter while she moved about the room.  “The one you got Richie”
“Oh, it was hard,” She chuckled humorlessly.  “I had to get my cousin to buy it from a guy he knows, which was sketchy enough, cost me like fifty bucks, but it was worth it” She shrugs a shoulder, and mutters under her breath when she accidentally sticks her finger into a drop of frosting on the counter.
“Wow,” Ben comments, and she meets his skeptical gaze as she pops her finger into her mouth to lick the frosting off.  “You must really like Richie to spend so much time and money for one gift”
She pulls her finger from her mouth, and there’s a rosy blush on her cheeks at her friend’s insinuation, but she shakes her head in denial.
“What? No- not like that- I mean he’s my friend-”
“Right,”  Ben said, not believing her for a second.  “Anyways, I also wanted to say thanks for the nice book and pens”
She nods back, too nervous to say anything.  She’s worried that he’s pretty much figured out about her little crush, and she doesn’t want him to tell Richie.
He turns to leave, but stops in the doorway of the kitchen, and reaches up to the frame above him.
“What are you…?” She starts to ask, but she doesn’t have to finish her question before she sees what he’s doing.  He taped a little piece of mistletoe up there.  She gives him a look, but laughs to herself anyways, because she can’t help it.
Ben Hanscom is such a romantic, she’s not sure how he’s been single all this time.
“You’re ridiculous” She tells him with a sweet smile, and heads to the fridge for a soda.
“We’ll see” Ben shrugs, and goes back to the living room to join his friends.
“Finally,” Richie rolls his head back on the sofa cushion with a loud groan.  “Wait, where the fuck is (y/n)?”
“Oh, she’s still finishing stuff up” Ben says, and gives the glasses wearing boy a sly sort of grin.  It looked out of place on his sweet baby face, and Richie furrowed his brow.
“You should go help her,” Beverly nudges Richie, who shoves her arm away.  “Come on, go in there!” She hisses.  “Go give her your actual gift”
“Fuck off” Richie mutters back.
“Wh-what actual gift?” Bill asks the question everyone else is wondering.
“You got her something else?” Mike asks, and Richie wants to pull his sweatshirt over his face and hide.
“He did, and it’s very cute, go give it to her”
“We’ll leave you alone,” Ben chirps up.  “We’ll stay out here and watch the movie and we won’t even listen-”
“We might listen a little” Stan mutters.
“-just muck up with courage and go do it!”
“Fine! Jesus fuck you guys are nonstop aren’t you?” RIchie grumbles as he gets off the couch, and drags his feet towards the kitchen.
The others quietly squeal with anticipation as they play the movie.
When Richie wanders into the kitchen, (y/n’s) back is turned to him.  She’s leaning over the stove, and fanning off the fresh sugar cookies that she’d just pulled out.  It was a batch to be decorated later, and she’d timed their baking just right so when the movie was over, they would be cooled off enough to frost.
“H-hey”
His quiet stutter makes her jump a bit as she whirls around, not having heard him come into the room.
“Oh my god, Richie, you scared me,” She says with a sigh and a nervous giggle.  “Don’t sneak up on me like that”
She turns back to move the cookies onto a rack on the counter so that they’d cool faster, and halfway through her process, she looks back over to him.  He’s just standing there, strangely quiet, and he looks like he’d just seen a ghost.
“You alright?” She asks sweetly, “Did you need something?”
“Um, yeah, actually,” He says, and walks around the counter to be standing with her.  Her brows are furrowed, confused by his odd behavior, but she waits patiently for him to say something.  “I wanted to um- give you… your gift”
He’s so nervous he can barely speak, and even when he is he’s not sure if it's english, but he’s trying his best.
“Richie, I already opened your gift,” (y/n) giggles, “I loved it”
He’d given her a cute little bear, holding a jar of quarters, so that she’d be able to play games with him and the others when she came to the arcade.  She usually didn’t come on days they went, because she rarely had change and didn’t want to sit around while everyone offered to buy her games for her.  It was a sweet gift really, very thoughtful.
“Um, yeah, well, I mean y-your real gift,” He stammers.  She still looks confused, but she’s smiling, and she nods to prompt him to show her.  “Okay… um…”
His hand fishes into his pocket, and she watches as he pulls out a small black box.  It’s clearly meant for jewelry, and her eyes widen and shoot up to his in surprise.
Richie Tozier surely didn’t seem like the jewelry-giving kind of guy, and it stunned her to see him even holding this little box.
“Richie-”
She starts to decline the offer, before she even looks inside.  Her hands push his away gently, trying to politely turn it down.  She couldn’t accept something like that, whatever it was, it surely cost more than anything else he’d gifted.
But he pushes the box into her hands.
“Just take it” He chuckles at how cute she is when she’s flustered.
(y/n’s) eyes flicker between his and the box, debating on accepting it.  But eventually his eager expression makes her sigh and finally take the box.
Her fingers are quivering as she flips open the lid, and her soft gasp is audible as her eyes land on the pretty necklace inside.
“Wow…” She murmurs, gently touching the small silver heart pendant.
Richie grinned down at her, and again his heart is just a few beats away from bursting through his chest.
“You like it?” He asks, even though he doesn’t have to, because it’s clear that she loves it.
“Rich, I-I love it” She answers, smiling up at him sweetly.  Tears are beginning to well in her eyes, and he laughs quietly.
“Here,” His voice is softer than she’s ever heard it before.
He pulls the necklace carefully from the box, and prompts her to turn around.  She gladly does, pulling her hair to the side so that he can clasp it behind her neck.  When he manages to do so, she spins back around, admiring the little heart that laid perfectly centered on her collarbone.
He smiled to himself on how perfect it looked on her- how perfect she looked wearing it.
(y/n) peered up at him, eyes full of tears and adoration.
“I love it so much,” She said, voice cracking a bit, from both the softness in her tone and the tears that were burning in her through while she tried to hold them back.  She reached forward, and wrapped her arms around his neck to hug him tightly.
Richie thought that she was the perfect size for hugging- she always stood on her tiptoes just a little to rest her chin on his shoulder, but that was for her casual goodbye hugs.  She wasn’t on her toes now, and while standing flat-footed, her face was buried in his sweatshirt.
He chuckled as he hugged her back, and maybe he lingered and held her a little longer than necessary, but who was complaining?
“I’m glad you like it doll” He hums.
When they do part, she wipes at her eyes with the sleeves of her sweater.
“I didn’t mean to make you cry, though” He teases her a bit, and she gives a soft laugh.
“I didn’t mean to start crying,” She replies.  “It was just- um, really sweet”
The corner of his lips tug up into a smirk, and he feels pretty damn good about himself right now.
(y/n’s) flustered in the sudden silence, and jerks her thumb over her shoulder towards the living room.
“I bet they’ve started the movie without us,” She says, “I’m gonna go get a seat while I still can”
He nods in agreement, and she reaches forward to squeeze his hand.
“Thank you” She says one last time, and gives him a big smile before heading out of the kitchen.
He hesitates for a minute, standing in his place and coming down from the high he was currently riding.  He’d made her cry of happiness, she loved his gift so much- he was never going to get over his feelings for her, she’d proven that.
When he finally calms himself down, and is about to go watch the movie with his friends, he notices the mistletoe taped at the kitchen’s doorway.
Fucking idiot- you really could’ve had a chance had you not stood around like a dope.
He shakes his head at himself, and one again is dragging his feet to take a seat.  Wedging himself between Ben and Stan, he ignored their impatiently excited looks, not wanting to explain to them how big of an idiot he was.
“Did you see I put-”
“Yeah, I did, shut the fuck up” Richie cut off Ben before he could say anything more, and then promply crossed his arms and slumped down further into the couch cushions.
“Pouty much?” Stan muttered, making Ben chuckle a bit.
Richie rolled his eyes and did his best to block them out and just watch the movie.
It was a bit boring, they had watched it for the past four years, and everyone could just about quote it word for word.  But Richie wasn’t much of a christmas-movie-lover anyways, so when he’d complained, no one paid him any mind.
Half an hour or so in, Ben had left his seat to go to the bathroom, and Richie didn’t really think much of it.  Until someone else occupied the space next to him.
He looked down to see (y/n) settling in on the cushion, eyes still focused on the television while she readjusted the blanket on her lap.  It wasn’t until she was settled that she peeked over at him as well, a nervous smile gracing her lips when she saw that he was already looking at her.
Not saying a word, she lifted the blanket a bit to offer it to him.  Richie wasn’t stupid, so he grinned, and moved just an inch closer to her to share.  Much to his surprise, she shuffled to be sitting right against him, leg to leg, arm to arm.  His face went pink right away, and hers didn’t look much different either.
She went back to watching the movie, but her blush and almost-hidden smile were an ever so present feature, and Richie didn’t feel so dumb about missing the misteltoe anymore.
Ben didn’t say anything about having lost his seat when he came back, and happily too the now open space next to Beverly.  Richie was just glad that no one had teased him, and he could just sit next to (y/n) and enjoy her presence.
She did him one better a few minutes later, slipping her hand under their shared blanket and blindly finding his.  Her touch was gentle as she laced their fingers together and squeezed his hand sweetly.  He was frozen for a second, but took a deep breath and relaxed, and curled his fingers around her hand.
They stayed that way through the rest of the film, absolutely content.  No one knew, they couldn’t tell with the blanket covering their arms, and Richie liked it that way.  This was just their moment.
It wasn’t like the last time she’d held his hand.  There wasn’t a scary movie playing, she wasn’t shaking in fear, she’d just done it… well, just because, he supposed.  He still wondered, however, if it was her way of displaying her feelings, or if this was just another (y/n)-being-confusingly-cute moments.
When the movie was over, Mike and Stan had to go home right away, since it was later in the night and they still followed their curfews.  Ben, Beverly, and Eddie helped pick up the last of the mess they’d made, while Bill went upstairs to tell his parents that the party was just about over and everyone was getting ready to go home.
Eddie was the next one to leave, and as per usual, (y/n) hugged him at the door, wishing him a merry christmas before he headed off home, bundled up in far too many articles of clothing.  He would die of heat exhaustion before hypothermia ever got to him, but no one was all that surprised.
She hugged Beverly even tighter when she left, and they both promised to never take off their friendship bracelets, even though they were bound to fall off in a few months- but then (y/n) would just make them new ones.
When it was just the four of them, she went to gather her gifts into her bag so that she was picked up and ready to go when her mom came to pick her up.
“Oh hey (y/n),” Ben said when he saw her there, “I’m heading home”
“Okay,” She smiled and hugged him goodbye.  “Did you take any cookies to go? I don’t want to bring them all home-”
“Of course,” He laughed.  “I made the others bags of them too”
Ben was probably one of the nicest people (y/n) had ever met.
She helped him make sure that he had all his things before walking him to the door.
“Oh, and by the way, Richie’s trying to clean up in the kitchen, you might wanna take care of that”
(y/n) laughed, and swiftly made her way to pick up the mess Richie had likely made while trying to pick up.
However he wasn’t cleaning up the kitchen, like Ben had said.  He wasn’t even in the kitchen.  He was walking out of it, and she crashed right into him.  She probably would’ve tripped over her own feet if he hadn’t grabbed her arms to steady her.
“S-sorry-” She stammered out, “Ben said-”
“You’re welcome!” The boy called from across the room.
He nodded above the pair, who both stared up at the piece of mistletoe that had been taped to the doorway a few hours ago.
With that, Ben waved, and was out the door.
(y/n) stared at Richie with wide eyes, waiting for him to say something.  He was just standing there, staring at the little leaves above them.
“I-I forgot that Ben put that there” She mumbled.  Her eyes kept flickering from the mistletoe to Richie, not sure what to focus on.
“That sly son of a bitch” Richie grumbled.
She let out a soft laugh, and then took a small step towards him.
“I think he knew what he was doing,” She hummed.
The look on his face was priceless, she’d never seen him so stunned.  She bit down on her lip, trying to suppress a grin of excitement from taking over her face.  She wanted him to think that she was calm, but she wasn’t sure how convincing she could be when her heart was beating so erratically in her chest.
“Pretty sure you owe me a kiss, Tozier” She added in a softer voice.
It was a bold move for her, but she was fairly certain that he’d wanted to kiss her, and the idea that he did gave her the confidence to make such a bold move.
Her breath fanned over his lips as she leaned up on the tips of her toes.  His hands, which were still holding onto her elbows, tightened a bit, and in turn he pulled her a little bit closer.
Her grin broke loose, and her eyes fluttered up to meet his.  She raised her brows, waiting for him to do something.
For a second, she thought he wouldn’t do anything.  He hadn’t said anything in quite some time, and she wondered if he was too scared to make a move.
And then all at once, he pulled her completely forward by her arms, and slanted his lips down over hers.  The kiss was fast, but it was sweet, and Richie was surprisingly gentle.
His arms wound around her waist, keeping her comfortably tucked into his chest, and his lips were so soft that she thought maybe he’d been using chapstick.  The thought passed her mind quickly though, easily overpowered by the realization that she could stand here and kiss Richie for hours.
They’d definitely share more than enough kisses required when caught under the mistletoe, but neither were complaining.  (They’d have to stop kissing to do so, and who would suggest something so ludicrous?)
Her hands tangled into the curls behind his neck, gently combing and twirling the soft strands.  She’d waited for this kiss for a long time- she wasn’t going to waste away her moment now.
When they did detach, it was reluctant, and (y/n) couldn’t find herself to open her eyes.  She just stood there, smiling, eyes closed.  Richie smirked a bit to himself, waiting for her to open her eyes.
A short laugh left her lips, but her eyes fluttered open and she was smiling at him again.
“Took you long enough,” She murmured, her hands falling to his shoulders.  “Didn’t think you were ever gonna do that”
He bumped his nose against hers affectionately.
“Well sorry,” He said teasingly.  “Didn’t exactly want to throw you on the counter and ruin all your cookies just cause I felt like kissing you senseless”
She giggled, pulling him close to kiss him again.
“I might’ve been fine with that” She replied rather smoothly, and then planted her lips on his again.
“W-well finally”
They pulled apart when they head Bill laughing at them.  He didn’t say anything else, just shook his head and left the room.
(y/n) and Richie laughed to themselves, because they’d been thinking the same thing.
“Merry Christmas” She mused pleasantly.
Richie kissed her forehead before embracing her tightly.
“Merry Christmas, (y/n/n)”
