Laccaria amethysteo-occidentalis, western amethyst deceivers, are pretty common in conifer forests in the Pacific Northwest. That doesn’t stop them from being a really cool mushroom to find! They fade as they grow older, making them harder to identify, hence the “deceiver” name. They’re edible, but in my opinion their flavor isn’t great.
