I had to go on SEVERAL intrepid tag dives for this, nonners, including the one for the time Rachel asked me this (which I reblogged a second ago). This is sort of an off the top of my head highlights reel because these ones were firmly stuck in my mind enough to know vaguely when to go looking for them. These are also all post-Haircut, the previous answer post being from before he chopped it for his movie.

We have a new champion for absolute top fave from just this past August, and that is....the Lady Lovely Locks rainbow sparkle extensions prom hair:

....Which was so glorious that the still photos can barely do it justice. I couldn't even focus on the match because his hair looked so damned pretty. 10/10 absolute all time fave.

This one, I had to go all the way back to 2019 on his Instagram and if you have any notion of how much he uses Instagram....well. It was worth it though, for the the G1 purple ponytail!

Then there was the best thing about the tragic Jericho match, what he referred to as the "Sailor Moon" hair (not quite but he had the spirit). The extensions were almost like the tinsel rooted with hair in an 80's fashion doll:

hey btw if you're in the USA at  2:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 4, they're testing the emergency broadcast system. your phone is probably going to make a really loud noise, even if it's on silent. there's a backup date on the 11th if they need to postpone it.

if you're not in a safe situation and have an extra phone, you should turn that phone completely off beforehand.

additionally, if you're like me, and are easily startled; i recommend treating it like a party. have a countdown or something. be surrounded by your loved ones. take the actions you personally need to take to make yourself safe.

i have already seen mockery towards any person who feels nervous about this. for the record, it completely, completely valid to have "emergency broadcast sounds" be an anxiety trigger. do not let other people make fun of you for that. emergency sounds are legitimately engineered to make us take action; those of us with high levels of anxiety and/or neurodivergence are already pre-disposed to have a Bad Time. sometimes it is best to acknowledge that the situation will be triggering for some, and to prepare for that; rather than just saying "well that's stupid, it's just a test."

"loud scary sound time" isn't like, my favorite thing, but we can at least try to prevent some additional anxiety by preparing for it. maybe get yourself a cake? noise cancelling headphones? the new hozier album? whatever helps. love u, hope you're okay. we are gonna ride it out together.

I am deeply sad that the reunion match left me with a general feeling of “well that sure happened”.

Nah, Anon, I'm afraid I've been trying to manufacture a feeling about it as well.

I've been hoping there would be some follow-up that would add some emotional depth to it, but the chances of that seem increasingly slim, eh? I mean, ideally there would have been some emotional groundwork laid as well, but that didn't happen either!

ibushi was this like... mythical figure for aew fans. if you didn't know who he was (i imagine a decent portion of aew's audience didn't), the teasers made it clear that he was somebody important—"the man who put the 'golden' in 'golden elite'" is a helluva characterization, when the friggen company's logo is that very gold! but to have that person show up for a wednesday night multiman in which he did a moonsault and was a decently good teammate? i wouldn't be surprised if aew fans who were unfamiliar with him left that match wondering what's so special about him.

as an ibushi fan, this feels bad. he has had three matches since returning from injury, and i sort of still feel like i haven't seen him wrestle. none of those matches was of a format that showcases the reasons he is a special and singular talent. (he has been the first to admit he is a bit rusty and timid, but there are ways besides flips to convey this!) for his aew debut in particular to fail at showing off what makes him amazing was a little deflating.

and to have the long-awaited next chapter in the ballad of the golden lovers happen without any real commentary or follow up (or, like, tag team moves!) is not only emotionally dissatisfying, it's sort of bizarre! i'm pretty sure the most emotionally impactful thing for me was that THEY FINALLY HAD MATCHING GEAR (aaaaa)--pretty great, but like, they wrestled a whole match together along with the rest of the golden elite! similarly to how i still kinda feel like i haven't seen kota wrestle, i almost want to give this my 'golden lovers trutherism' tag, bc them being in the ring together again has had the same sort of emotional impact as, like, social media breadcrumbs and phoenix splash/v-trigger shoutouts. you hate to see it!

i'm so intrigued about the genesis of it all, honestly. like yeah, it's sad, but i'm SO curious about what the hell happened! i can't imagine this was anyone's ideal way for any of this to happen, and that is, likewise, perplexing!

but more importantly than whether this was a ~satisfying narrative, if ibushi is happy, and if the golden lovers are happy, that's the thing i wanted most, and i sincerely do not give a shit about the narrative. i really hope they are!

He's really fond of the belt Shen Shanwei gave him! He was also pretty fond of his pocket mirror (even though he did offer to gamble it away to Thief Goddess Li, so he was never that attached to it) but he recently gave it to Mu Liqiang as a not-at-all-dramatic maybe-parting gift.

It's what happened with Yu Long, obviously, but the most painful part for him to remember is when they were separated in Prince Kai's office. Yu Long begged Lin Moniao not to leave him, but Lin Moniao did.

He can think anywhere! Often it's not thinking that more of a challenge. But he does sometimes like a good brood on a rooftop like a proper wuxia protagonist and/or superhero.
