What if, Reader was the queen of a dying hive and two humans (Ingo and Emmet) wander into her hive?
Imagine the smut possibilities
This is actually a very interesting thought! I thought about it a lot and here's what I have to say:
Here's some head cannons my friend
Beegearstation reversed Au headcannons
(bee royal reader x human twins
Sfw/nsfw
Cw: breeding, slight Emmet bullying, but we still love him in this house, switch reader,switch twins
Sfw
You were a kind and gentle ruler to your hive, being the Survivor out of a hive that wanted to kill you so you couldn't rival their Royal. You didn't like the same for your drones. Your hive was a safe haven for drones that got abandoned or kicked out of their hive.
Because of this, your drones love you and are very protective of you. You know that in the long term, your hive would be in danger; however, you try not to think about it. You try not to let it bother you because as long as you're drones have a place to call home, that's all that matters to you. However, the drones are aware of how much the idea of the future of the hive scares you. They wish they could do something to help, but their bodies were not built to give you suitable young.
On one faithful day, the Drones scrambled around the hive; seems like the Royal had taken another one of their walks alone. That's when they found a human well, the human found them, striking silver eyes, gray hair with sharp sideburns, and a smile on his face; he gazed at you from the vegetation, his eyes widened, having never seen someone of your kind before. His eyes sparkled with curiosity. He wasn't fearful of you like most humans were. In fact, his first words to you were, and you'll never forget, "D-do you come here often?" Your future king was never one for small talk. He was constantly stumbling over his words when he had to be the one to start a conversation. Every time you bring up the fond memory, his face goes red with embarrassment—that cute smile of his twitching while his eyebrows furrowed.
you remember how frightened when you were when you saw him, because of your past, you find it very hard to trust new people, but he seemed friendly enough. You don't know why you got along with him so well maybe it's because he was always truthful with his words no matter how blunt which you appreciate from time to time. (Looking back, you wondered why Emmet liked you so much; there were plenty of humans that could suit his fancy; his older brother only huffed and replied, "That's exactly why!" ...you're not sure what he means by that)
You enjoyed Emmet's company meeting in the same spot at least once a week. You wanted the stories about his human life, your eyes lighting up with wonder when he talked about a vehicle humans use that travels super fast, making the ground Rumble in its path as it roars Its mighty call.
Ingo was introduced to you by Emmet, who was slightly sweeter and a little more upbeat, which was contrasted with his scary face.
Over time, these two became your friends, maybe, even more; you did think of them as suitable mates and Royals for your hive, but you could never spring such a responsibility on them, and... they were human.
When you showed up late, they began to worry... Do you seem weaker? Constantly out of breath, occasionally even stumbling. Swallowing down their fear of breaking your trust, they followed you back to your hive. They overheard everything, the Colony has no future, and you are overworking yourself sick!
They care about you so much, that they beg you to please let them help. They'll do anything they can!
The Kings may be human, but the drones respect them as hard workers and members of The Hive.
When the twins realized that your hive was built in an old ruined Grand Station, they flipped their lid in excitement; they even hit the jackpot, finding a rusty old handcart!
Your Depot drones start picking up on the train speak; your dear human Kings have. You find it rather cute.
Nsfw below
You are a bee hybrid Royal so you are naturally taller than your humans(if that's not what you want you can stay small) it is your choice whether you dominate them or they dominate you~.
Emmet is obsessed with the fluffier parts of your bee body. When he's on top of you he loves snuggling into the fluff while he grinds his fat cock inside you.
To your surprise, your mates, despite being human, react to the royal jelly well. There were no physical changes to their body, but they became very receptive to your pheromones. The reactions are almost animalistic since they are still sensitive to these new feelings.
They can sense how much you need them, and they'll either break down in a sobbing mess begging for you to touch or use them. Or demand and overpower you like an animal in a rut.
As you lay there begging for him to breed you. Telling him that he'll make a strong brood. Ingo is slowly turning to the monster fucker dark side, and Emmet is there to accept his brother with open arms.
The twins Wonder if the pollen works on their drones; they wonder if the same pollen will work on you. Spoiler alert, it does. You practically pounce on them, riding/milking them until they're on the verge of passing out. They see white as they shoot blanks, but it's not enough for you.
Meanwhile, the bee smoke makes you so cute, and Dopey, your little Giggles as you rub against them like a kitten, your head delicately bonking against their shoulder begging for attention. Your eyes roll back, drool dripping down your chin, letting out cute little whines because you can't take their big cocks while your mind is clouded with smoke.
You're sweet honey-coated saliva makes them so sensitive to the touch Emmet begs for his majesty to touch him. You purr a 'No' liking the sight before you; Emmet tied to the bed cock aching for your touch, his legs quivering and shaking, trying not to hump the air in Desperation for any kind of relief.

how about Zisu with Caleb, Fjord and little Emmet?
this is just going to be some chances I'm going to be making regarding Warden's Twins and From Hisui to Unova.
I'm combining the two stories, with 'From Hisui to Unova' being the follow up story to Warden's twins and it's two divided time lines. (I'll have to rewrite what I have so far but that's only what, three chapters? It'll me fine and I'll have a better starting point.) with all won't take place until after the main plot of Warden's twins (ie: this happens after Akari catches both Diagla and Palkia)
this means, Caleb and Fjord will be added to the main storyline, though the story will still be focused mostly young Ingo, young Emmet and Warden Ingo, as well as Akari. (Caleb and Fjord are too young at this point to take so much of an active role)
In order to properly add them, and not wanting to the twins (Ingo and Emmet) to end up trapped in Hisui for too long, I made some changes to the gap in which they were born. rather then them having a year difference between them, I've chosen to make them fraternal twins, with Caleb being born late into the night (11:30 pm or so) and Fjord being born an hour and half later (1:30 am) thus making them born on two separate days.
other then that nothing more has changed, Caleb is still a serial hair puller, and Fjord is still named after Clay's truck (Ford Ranger.)
that being said, with the addition of the boys being added, that means their mother Zisu will be much more active in the story, and in the twins lives (being more of a mother figure to them, and being much more hands on.) I also promise so cuddle moments between her and Warden Ingo. (Dojoshippers rejoice)
there is probably going to be a short story between the end of the main story and the endings, just to give a bit of rest and so I don't have to do a huge time skip.

Okay, a few questions:
(I know you dont have the answers for most of these but I really enjoy your headcanons)
1 Amun is said to have some talent at finding gifted vampires (while they are human even) how do you think he does that?
2 Do you really think vampires have regular human hair? All vampires would be bald. I mean even just the windshear from running at stupid speeds would eventually make their hair so brittle it would just fall out, and they would just, pull it all out when they are newborn right? Also the nails are vamp grade so why not the hair (I headcanon that alice and rosalie had just spendt a few hours with wirecutters dipped in venom trying to give emmet a more modern haircut at some point, and then he imidietly went out and ‘played with fireworks’ and thats how he burned his hair off in cannon, the ‘wound’ was still fresh and the strands had venom exposed to the air)
3 Are you still doing the monthly writing challenges?
4 Where do you think the ‘soul particle’ is in a vampire? Like you could probably burn the limbs and maybe even the chest whitout killing them but the head needs to be attaced to something for the vampire to be concious? So is it the head? Like in the southern wars would they burn the heads in battle and worry about the bodies after or would they still have to worry about headless bodies rejoining the fight?
X anon
Oh wow, I'm flattered, glad you enjoy the blog.
Amun
Well, like you said, we don't know. We only know what he says in Breaking Dawn and what's mentioned in the guide. However, what we do know to me doesn't indicate a talent so much as Amun is very old and knows what to look for and is also actively looking.
We don't know how he found Demetri but we do know how he found Benjamin. Benjamin was noticeably talented with fire and Amun heard about him, witnessed this, then turned him. Amun in other words, despite being a hermit in the desert, does have his ear to the ground and actively searches out talent much the way that Aro does, by taking a chance on people who look exceptional.
Add to this that Amun has been around Egypt for a very long time and that population and trade in that area has always been extremely large relatively for world population. What I'm getting at is that without having to move around it's not unlikely people with gifts would be in the area with enough time.
It's also telling to me that in thousands of years, thousands past when the Volturi decided gift strike forces were a great idea and everyone had to participate in an arms race, Amun has only found two and he has Benjamin in a death grip.
He immediately went full hermit after Benjamin and is terrified Aro will show up and take him away from him. That speaks to me of how rare it is.
TL;DR Amun's been looking in a highly populated area that has a rich history stretching back thousands of years, he knows what to look for and is willing to take a chance and turn people himself, and he's only ever found two and is horrified he'll lose Benjamin.
Is the Hair Human?
No.
Previous thoughts on vampire hair have been had but I do think it grows (otherwise everyone would be bald), so perhaps grows slowly pace we take into account Bree's adventures and the newborn with a bald spot, and it has to be stronger than our hair or else again everyone would be bald. What it appears to do is only ever stay at the exact same length for reasons.
We also know that it generally looks 'better' than most human hair without the vampire putting in any effort. Victoria's hair per Bella looks great when she's running about the wilderness with no shampoo, conditioner, and probably know hair brushing either.
Bella's hair after a month of starvation is suddenly not only incredibly long but also unbelievably good looking. It should look awful after that experience and should be thinner.
This gets me a lot of flack in this fandom but I subscribe to the magical girl hair theory for vampires.
Are We Still Doing Challenges?
Er, yes, @therealvinelle and I just forgot because the post-holiday daze. We'll post shortly.
What the Fuck is Up with Zombie Vampires
Every time I talk about Biology I say something stupid. I could assume a brain is required for most congition, and that the limbs simply have some nervous response or remote signalling that gets them back to the head, but I honestly don't know.
I'm going to have to cop out.

The Cullens have a new family member. Y/n is only a 2-year-old newborn... Carlisle stopped her life at age 15, and she still doesn't know why.

Chapter Four.
All of the Cullens were dressed for the possible fight. Alice warned us about all of the possible outcomes of tonight. The only good one was the one I accepted to be tested by Aro in Volterra.
Renesmee had no idea today was the day we would possibly never see each other again. None of us wanted to hurt her today. Alice and Edward were more nervous than I thought they would be at this moment. It was like they had a secret between themselves.
The Volturi newborns came in a black SUV car."Are they too young to walk?" Mocked Emmet.
They were the prettiest vampires ever. The four left the car at the same time. Their red piercing eyes exclaimed monstrosity and their clothes said gothic Victorian ages.
"Hello. Cullens," said the vvampire girl. Her blond hair was long and with a straight fringe, she had a young-looking face, maybe was transformed in her eighteen years of age? "My name is Carmilla, and we were sent to meet the new vampire girl of yours." Her tone was educated but didn't mean hospitality.
"I'm Carlisle and this is my family." His tone was formal. That made Carmilla smile.
"And these are my brothers, Constantine, Aurelius, and Valentino". Her Italian accent did not deny her homeland.
"Where is the half-human girl? We would also want to meet her."
Constantine was tall and the most Italian-looking man I had ever seen. He seemed to be only twenty, and the other brothers as well. His English where almost without an accent and his hair was chin-length. His tone was sensual with no need.
"Unfortunately, during her child months, we could not make it for the visit. Other important missions appeared." Valentino added. Valentino Volturi otherwise had long luscious hair. He was tan, slender, and looked like a runway model.
"Unfortunately, She could not make it. Maybe if you all send a message she could be here for your prestigiousness." Edward was royal enough to make a sarcastic comment on such a request.
"Alice could not tell?" Said Carmilla with the same tone. Apparently, she was the leader of the small clan. Before any other comments could be said I presented myself.
"I thought I was the most important task of your mission? Here I am! "Y/n", nice to meet you."
"Of course, my dear. You are of enormous importance for Aro, my lord." Valentino said while kissing my hand. I stayed stiff the whole time. Jasper told me that most Volturi vampires had powers. "Relax, my dear. I don't behold Aro's powers."
"As you all know. I presume, of course. Aro wants to meet your "new family member" as you may call yourselves." That was the first and only sentence that Aurelius spoke that whole night. He certainly looked the most unimpressed with that situation.
The Cullens looked at me. All I could say was, "Take me to meet Aro.""
Carmilla looked like she was having a blast. The situation was or sure fun for her."How boring." Constantine exhaled and walked to the car. Opened the door and waved his hand in an inviting sign.
I let the Cullens know it was not a goodbye but a see you soon.
I would never choose the Volturi clan, no matter how many temptations they would offer me.
Inside the car smelled like expensive perfume and blood. Carmilla sat by my left side and Constantine by my right side. Aurelius drove us with a classical tune as a background. By the knowledge Edward gave me it was Lacrimosa by Mozart. Valentino waved to Carlisle as he looked at me. His sadness will be in my memory forever.
Carmilla was smiling while caressing my hair, her arms were around my neck. "Aros's testing will only endure three days... Alice could not realize that because we decided at this moment. If you were wondering, my love... " Constantine had the most hypnotizing eyes. Looking at him felt like looking at the most sleep-inducing feeling I ever had. "And that's my power, love."
"If I had encountered you before Carlisle. Be sure I would have transformed you myself." Carmilla whispered in my ear.
After a couple other investments they gave me, they realized I wasn't going to give in. And I think that bored them out. So I finally could be left in peace. The hours went by and the airport of Port Angeles never came in sight.
Carmilla asked for my fake documents, so I gave her. Constantine grabbed my bags as soon as we came to the airport. Looks like only the two of them were paying attention to me. Aurelius and Valentino were on their phone the whole time. Looks like, there would be other two vampires to be presented to Aro. I wonder who would be them, and who was scouting them to Volterra.

I've come on my hands and knees begging for some reader loving on some autistic submas, just a reader that loves these boys with all the quirks and hyper fixations included. A reader who understands the need to shake of that excess energy with some good hand flapping and loves to listen to hour long rants about the boys special interests (especially Ingo, that man WILL go on for hours if you let him, bb pls breath)
- 🐗 anon
PLEASE??? I need more positivity loving autism for autism, the good, the bad and the ugly. Sorry if these are a little short, I feel like a lot of headcanons here can overlap so I tried to find the specifics that I could.
Submas with male reader who loves their autistic traits!
Tumblr media
Emmet
⚪ - He's happy you never force him to talk! Emmet goes nonverbal pretty frequently, not to say he doesn't want to talk. He wishes he was as verbose as his brother, because he does have a lot to say, but oh well. You always make him feel heard even if he isn't actually making any noise!
⚪ - If you live with him, things might be a little disorganized. He's more of a tactile stimmer and he'll do it with anything. If it isn't nailed down, he'll probably pick it up and start fiddling with it. Don't leave tools out. Usually he'll put those things down himself, though, shaking his head and saying "I am Emmet. And you need to keep this hammer away from me."
⚪ - You're all ears on the rare occasion he does talk a lot, which in a way only excites him more. He talks more and more the progressively more excited he gets and only gets more excited when he glances your way and sees you actually paying attention to him!
⚪ - If you are also an autistic or just generally stimmy person, you'll stim together! If he sees you stimming he'll start too. You're excited, why shouldn't he be, too?
⚪ - The number one most sympathetic person if you also go nv on him. He affords you every ounce of the kindness and respect you give him.
⚪ - He also just appreciates that you like him. Fact of the matter is, you really have to look a certain way, have certain interests, to be an autistic person afforded any respect and kindness. Emmet, and his brother too, neither of them are what people consider "cute" autistic people. He's a white-haired grown man in an elaborate costume with a cheshire smile and bizarre speech patterns. He expects not to be liked, expects not to be taken seriously, but you treat him as an equal and that matters. A lot.
⚪ - You never infantilize him and he's so grateful. Sometimes you need to slow things down in certain areas for him, or ask him to slow down in other spots, and you're always polite about it. You never speak for him, always ask first, and most importantly to Emmet, you never assume he doesn't understand things. He couldn't be happier with a man like you.
Tumblr media
Ingo
⚫- You listen to him? You listen to him!! He talks so much, people often check out. But you listen! He's over the moon when you ask him questions about the subways or his favorite Pokemon he's been talking about, because that not only means you're listening, but that you're interested! Questions are his love language, strange as it is, but those tell him what he's saying to you matters.
⚫- He's more prone to external meltdowns than his brother. And you have his constant gratitude for never being embarrassed about him, you swiftly escort him out of places of high stress and are there as he decompresses.
⚫- Ingo is really thankful you don't have any expectations on him to react or even just emote certain ways. Pretty much all of the autistic flat effect got heaped on him and he's spent a lot of time, and I mean a lot of time, stressing about reacting the right way or feeling self conscious about how he's always frowning and people can't tell what he's thinking. But you know Ingo enough to know when he's happy even if his face doesn't say it.
⚫- I think generally he worries he embarrasses you, maybe with his behavior, or his looks, or the way he talks. That being said he always lights up when you reassure him of the contrary. Especially for someone who interacts with so many people on a day-to-day basis, he gets anxious that he looks unapproachable or even a bit ugly, so it means the world to him when you tell him you love his quirky little catlike frown, or the ways his eyes just shine when he's excited even if not much else changes facially.
⚫- Between him and his brother, I think Ingo concerned himself a lot more with masking. Both of them did it, of course, but Emmet is both more confident and he also has the image of "the happy one", so Ingo feels particularly self conscious about his stims. He doesn't do it often, even if you encourage him to relax a bit and not stress himself out about masking. He's masked for so long and so often he's almost ironed out stims from his life completely. That being said he does still stim occasionally, usually hand flapping, and he's glad you don't make a big deal out of it or draw attention to it. Ingo isn't sure he'll ever feel comfortable stimming like his brother can, but around you, it feels normal. And it's nice to feel normal.
⚫- He prefers it if you let him initiate touch, but also appreciates it when you lean into it and reciprocate. He just prefers to initiate, which he's glad you respect, because his touch-positive and touch-averse days come and go sort of at random.
⚫- Even better connections with him will form if some of your special interests overlap! He can indulge and rant for hours and hours and hours if you are there to enjoy his interests with him.

Iiiiit’s noodle-lovin anon again! With angst! AGAIN!
What if the snek twins unintentionally snapped at s/o after we tried to calm them down from who knows what happened that day and we end up running out into the forest to recoup?
Snek twins go out and search for us, a teary panicky mess, and soff reunion ensues after feeling helpless and thinking we were gone for good.
I take pity and give this angst happy end :3
We on a angsty roll today! I hope poly is okay!
nothing too mean, and reference to a mating cycle but its only mentioned.
-
-
🔲Ingo&Emmet🔳
- their mating cycles are coming up. You’ve been their mate for two years now, you know what’s going on.
- You know their emotions are running wild and on high. You’ve caught them hissing at each other several times the last three days.
- They always try their hardest to behave and keep a leveled head, but it always ends with them bottling it all up.
- It was only a matter of time before they exploded.
- They started getting huffy with each other, before an argument broke out. Arguing over something as stupid as who gets to hunt.
- You thought you made a timetable for this when the season hits, so you tried to settle them down before getting it.
- “Stay out of this! I’m verrry tired of you interfering!”
- “Not not! We can settle this without your help!”
- You jump back, not expecting to be on the receiving end of their hisses. The ends of their tails slamming against the ground, their fangs barred at you.
- You stay silent and take a few steps back, letting them get back to arguing before leaving.
- You just wanted from fresh air and to give them time to calm down as well.
- Knowing they don’t mean it, they have been getting better around this time of year, only occasionally slipping up like that.
- You left to a spot you had found a while ago, nice and enclosure by the trees around you. It has the perfect basking spot.
- The twins argued, arguing who should hunt this time to prove who’s the better mate.
- They couldn’t agree, only huffing and leaving to their own hideaways in their den.
- Staying like that for hours, coiled on their own, in their own rooms.
- Two hours had passed when they realize something is wrong.
- You usually walk out for air, yes.
- But you’re never gone this long.
- “Emmet? Is our mate with you?” Ingo yells from across the cave.
- He hears a quivering monotoned voice answer back “funny, I was just about to ask you that.”
- They nearly slam into each other, as they slithered out of the dens. Panic etched on Emmet’s face, while Ingo’s voice is rushed and frantic.
- They rush out of the den, the older twins booming voice calling for you.
- “Darling! Darling we are sorry! Just please come back!”
- “Dear! Please come home! Where are you!?”
The two are tears lining their eyes, their calls and yells for you only grow louder and louder.
“W-what if something got them? What if they are hurt somewhere?”
Ingo doesn’t respond, deep down thinking if he did it would become a reality.
“We will find them, it’s okay.”
The twins slither on, not caring to be quiet.
They want to make as much noise as possible, so you’ll hear them.
You wake up, not realizing you fell asleep in your resting spot. You look up to the sky and realize it’s gotten so late.
Your mates must be worried.
Your thoughts are confirmed when you hear two panicked voices calling for you.
Your voice isn’t as strong as Ingo’s, so you decide to leave your hiding spot and follow his voice.
You know the way back to the den if needed.
The second you’re free from the thick foliage, you’re tackled. All the air being knocked from your lungs.
“Mate!”
“Oh mate! We were so worried!”
“We are sorry! Verry sorry! Please don’t leave us!”
“We will never do that again! Please, dear, we are sorry!”
You’re being held by two sobbing snake hybrids. Their coils are wrapped around you, holding you in between them as they sob into your neck.
You wiggle your arms free, moving them up to run your fingers through their disheveled hair.
“Shhh it’s okay, I’m not leaving you two, not ever. I just came out here for some air and to relax.”
That only seems to make them sob harder.
“I love you both, I’m not going anywhere.”
You kiss Ingo’s temple before kissing the top of Emmet’s head.
They love you, they were so worried, they feared something had hurt you, or worse.
They are awful mates.
But they will make it up to you! They will do anything they can to prevent this in the future!
And you know they will.
You don’t doubt them.
You just let them hold you like this for a moment more.

Emmet has been searching for Ingo for…a long time now.
Oh, he tried to stick to his normal schedule, tried to rely on the police to investigate, tried to run the subway alone.
What was his wakeup call was that no matter how hard he tried to stay focused, he couldn't be serious about pokemon battles when his worry about Ingo took up so much of his attention.  He didn't want to be battling, he wanted to be searching, helping.  And it was a disservice to everyone who came so far to fight him.  If he couldn't be serious, it wasn't fun for anyone.  Moreso than his own feelings, it was the heart of the battle subway.  If stepping down was what was best for the subway, that is what he'd do.
No one was happy about it, but everyone understood in their own way.  The depot agents as a unit wished him well and promised he was welcome back whenever, no matter what.  Someone would take the place of Ingo and Emmet, but everyone knows the battle subway is best when they are there.  Their positions are waiting for them when Emmet returns with Ingo.  (Emmet is heartened by their certainty.)
Elesa is a mess as well.  Ingo was one of her best friends, and she was trying so hard  to be there for Emmet, but his decision to leave his job to search for Ingo struck her as worrying.  She didn't want him to fall to despair, didn't want him to harm himself over this, didn't want him to give up his life chasing rumors down.  It would take a bit, a good heart to heart, but Emmet would reassure her that this was best right now.  He wasn't despairing, but he was determined to leave no stone in the world unturned trying to find where Ingo went.  She extracted a promise from him to take care of himself, to keep in contact.  He did, and he does.
Since there are no clues to be had about the disappearance, Emmet immediately starts looking into sources that could give him answers through magical/mystical means.  And that means legendaries and mystic pokemon.  He of course tries Unova's legendaries first, imploring them over the loss of his twin.  He was hopeful, since he and Ingo were so closely modeled after the legends Unova was built upon, that it might mean something.  Might give him an edge of sympathy that the dragons would want to help reunite them.  But they didn't answer his call.  (I don't believe the MCs or N keep legendaries, so they are not available to call upon.  Even with the MCs help, the dragons do not appear (they sometimes do))
So it goes, so it goes.  Emmet zeros in on the pokemon who are said to grant wishes, but does not see hide nor hair of it.  He travels to Sinnoh, and for a while it seemed promising.  There was a reaction, a swelling of power, of presence.  But it fades away, leaving Emmet alone again.  For whatever reason they found him wanting perhaps.  (Dialga and Palika are unable to mess with the timeline during Hisui, it's too fragile to meddle with.  Thus they can do nothing to help Emmet.)
One after the other, Emmet wanders the globe.  He keeps an ear open for any mundane rumors as well, just in case.  Asks if anyone has seen a man with his face.  No one ever has.
What finally breaks his losing streak is when he goes searching for Celebi.  He comes across a small group of them.  Knowing better than to attempt to attack or battle, he instead lays his case at their mercy.  Despite his best efforts, though, the celebi leave him behind.  He tries not to let another failure crush him, tries to keep a positive outlook and plan for his next stop.  But there's a small noise, a soft squeak, and a tiny celebi pops out in front of him.
It is a young celebi, comparatively weaker, and very new to their powers.  Emmet questions it gently, asking if it wants to help him.  At the affirmative, he presses further.  Does it not have parents that will look for it?  Friends?  Would they be angry or scared if it left with Emmet?  (Perhaps one of the other Celebi flits by, acknowledging the pair but unbothered.  It reassures Emmet.)  It indicated no, there is no problem to it leaving.
Through some pantomime, Emmet comes to learn that Celebi is certain Ingo is not in that time.  It can't tell when he is though.  It could be in the future, it could be in the past.  Chandelure knows Ingo is not dead, their bond strained but not broken.  If Ingo had died, even in the past, Chandelure would know.  (It was almost enough for Emmet to attempt to search the future first.  But he talked himself back around, that Ingo hadn't died in the past because Emmet had found him and brought him home.  That had to be the reason.)
The solution proposed is to travel as far as the little Celebi is able, and to search for Ingo at each stop.  Emmet…realizes how long that would take.  They would have to search the world over, at each stop.  How long would that take?  How many jumps would it take them?  How long by foot to cover enough ground to confirm that Ingo wasn't there, before they could move on?
So he decides to gamble on a crazy idea.  It was a mental exercise he and Ingo did as kids, a fun little project that had no use but was fun/cool to figure out how to do it.  The biggest problem was covering enough ground at each stop.  On foot wouldn't do.  Travel pokemon would be better, but exhausting for all.  There was one thing that Emmet was verrrrrry qualified to drive however.  It just needed to be made portable.
The idea was to take a standard train engine, and figure out how to make it able to travel anywhere.  Impractical in modern times, as it would be more of a hazard than a help.  But as quick, safe transport, a home base built in?  It's perfect for what Emmet needs.  To make it work, he needs a few things.  One is of course the train itself.  (steam or electric?  Hmmmm i'm leaning toward steam so that a pokemon doesn't have to keep it constantly powered.  Also aesthetics lol)  Next are the tracks.  He needs enough for the length of the train he plans to take (engine and a car or two), plus leeway for maneuvering.
The biggest thing he needs however, is a group of psychic pokemon with enough precision to be able to lay and pull the track in a moving railroad.  Multiple, so they can take turns/breaks and don't wear themselves down.
Pokemon Emmet tries:
0. Chandelure insists, but Emmet tells her she is more needed to sense for Ingo.  Plus she can't do it alone.  She still learns telekinesis despite that, and is ready and willing to help if needed.  Most skilled, able to teach other Pokemon what's needed.
1. Espurr - First attempt, but he quickly realizes they will not be able to help.  They can't control their powers with enough delicacy.  However they still really want to travel with Emmet, and so he gains a companion.
2. Emmet hears about Xatu's ability to see past/future.  He manages to convince either a Natu or Xatu to accompany him, but they are disinclined to help with the train.  Still, they DO indicate he should start traveling to the past.  He takes that as a good sign.  (I like the idea of a Xatu flying above the train, though their dex says they stay stationary.  *shrugs*)
3. Reuniclus - It is more interested in physical battling.  Emmet appreciates the enthusiasm, but it doesn't really help his cause.  Until it handshakes with Espurr.  It's not the same as linking up with another reuniclus, but it is able to help guide espurr to control their powers better.  Useful as backup/emergency situations.
4. Emmet had decided to try for the Abra line to help him.  If he could convince any to join him, that is.  Abras are notoriously hard to catch, and the evolution line is a bit standoffish.  However along his journey, Emmet discovers a small colony of Eevees in some distress.  The eevees do not want to be battlers, maybe are having a hard time surviving on their own, something.  I'm thinking maybe four or five?  Emmet's kindness shines through, and they want to accompany him.  He allows it, because he does enjoy the company.  Perhaps there is a pair of twins that move in unison, and he can't help but look at them fondly (if sadly).  The Eevees listen to his explanation of what he needs the Abra line to do, that he needs some strong psychic pokemon who are willing to do this strange task instead of battle or otherwise.  Basically Emmet accidentally befriends the Eevees so hard they evolve to Espeons just so they can help him out.  He now has his task force.
5. When Elesa learns about what he plans to do, she insists he take her rotom who can learn telekinesis as well.  It doesn't hurt to have another backup, and it's all she can do for him since she can't go herself.
(Along the journey, some chimecho take a liking to riding along the current of the train.  Their chimes are a soothing constant on the journey.  Still wild tho)
Once his preparations are nearly complete, only then does he tell Elesa what he's planning.  She is distressed all over again.  Because she wants so badly to go with him.  But like his original journey, this is not hers.  She has her gym, her friends, her family, Skyla, etc.  As much as she wants to, she can't give that up.  And this is even further away, where she wouldn't even be able to contact them.  No, she can't go with.  The knowledge is a painful truth.  But she believes in him.  She gives her blessing, and her unwavering faith that he will return with Ingo.
She implores him to not leave just yet.  To promise to wait just a little bit for her.  Emmet doesn't know why, but he agrees regardless.  He love Elesa, and it's hard for him as well.  He can do this much for her.
What she does is go to the gear station depot workers and explain this crazy plan their boss is doing.  Like her, they can't go with, but they can do one thing to support him.  They set up a stretch of railway, with the intention of upkeeping it while Emmet is gone.  When they present it to him, they explain that when he returns, he'll need a place to pull into station.  They will make sure it's ready to receive their bosses home.
(Best end, as soon as Emmet leaves, he also returns.  Because celebi knows exactly when and where to go, its able to return them right away.  Emmet is beaming at them all, because they may have expected a long wait, but his early return is a great surprise.  Ingo, of course, accompanies him.)
The train is both transport, protection, and sleeping/living quarters.  It's able to hold all their pokemon, plus the new ones, and an astonishing number of Joltiks.  The reason to utilize tracks and let the train run as a normal train is that the train is heavy.  It would take considerable more pokemon to carry it at speeds and lengths that they need.  Track is much easier to move, though it does require precision and concentration.  The Espeons get really good at it, however.  Especially the twins :>
So begins Emmet's journey through time in search of Ingo.  He retains his positive outlook, never letting the failures get him down.  Sure, there are the occasional rumors that pop up about the phantom train that can be seen traveling the countryside, but it's never seen twice, and usually doesn't even get a footnote in history.  Emmet isn't careless about driving near towns or roads, and those start to vanish the further back they go.  Eventually he's a little more lax about being spotted.
When he arrives in Hisui, he arrives in the Obsidian Fieldlands (not that he knows it).  He knows the general part of the world he's in, Sinnoh, and decides to circle the flat side of the region before heading for the mountains.  Whoever his lookout pokemon are warn him about the town, and he plans to give it a wide enough berth (but is a liiiittle sloppy about it and is closer than he normally would.)  Or perhaps he planned on stopping and asking them if they'd seen Ingo.  Either way, he's chugging along obliviously.
A survey corp manages to send warning back to the town ahead of the train.  It stirs a bit of a panic, because what is this strange metal contraption heading for their town??  Laventon is able to identify it as a train, though the fact that it is running off tracks (he can't see them perhaps) is astounding!  Kamado wants to know who is driving and what they want, ofc.
Ingo tho…of course he was in Jubilife at the time.  Perhaps the MC was around, and they were battling.  Either way, when the town stirs to life to respond to the potential threat heading their way, he joins in to see what's up.  And when he sees the train…
I don't think he remembers, I think he just acts.  I'm leaning toward him whistling a call to stop the train, some known signal that can be heard over the noise.  (Chandelure is beside herself, because she can feel him.  She heads off the train before it stops, and gets first dibs at hugs.)  Emmet immediately throws on the breaks, barely giving warning to his passengers to brace themselves for an abrupt stop.  He too doesn't even need to question it.  As soon as the train stops, he's out and running.  Doesn't stop until he's hugging the life out of his brother.
(When I first was writing this out, I did have some more detailed scenes in mind.  Alas, lost to the whims of my brain.  Road Trip AU tho!  Ironically most of these notes are not the travel section, but this idea was spawned by my comments on This Song in This Post.  :)

I love your eldritch abomination AU so much!
When darling eventually ends up bonding with Ingo and Emmet and becoming a bit eldritch themselves (if that’s what ends up happening) I would assume that they take on characteristics of both twins.
Now the logical conclusion of that is of course, gray- but consider:
White scales and black feathers
The answer of what Darling becomes is a bit too unique for me to write well, I fear- Because Darling would get some funky weirdness going on, but it would be unique to the individual person.
Eldritch beings can be incomprehensible, non euclidean hypercubes from the nth dimension, or they can be the scary shadow figures in the corner of your vision-
They can sometimes look like words on a page, or patterns in a wallpaper. They can be as ghostly as the wind or as a solid as a block of steel-
They can be many, they can be few- They can be one, or perhaps there is none- Just an empty husk of something, like a machine-
But for You, dear reader-
What would you imagine yourself becoming?
Their power is heavily influenced by thoughts- Wishes and dreams-
So if you were to think something would happen, then- Well, by their power-
It might just be.
Personally if I do write Eldritch'd Darling- I'd imagine they stay pretty much entirely human, but personality wise they start finding themselves... acting different.
You don't particular care to hang out with friends as much.
Time seems to be moving... faster, or slower- You can't decide. It feels like just yesterday it was last month, or that this hour has been going on all day. People talk to you- Or at least, you think so. Their mouths are certainly moving- And everything seems oddly... dull. Yet wonderful at the same time. The world as a whole is less of what you live in and more of a curiosity- Like some beautifully crafted stained glass that you're admiring, and will pass by anytime soon.
Darling may take on some characteristics of their soul-bound beloveds. Despite the dullness of so many things, you love other things you never noticed so very much now. Spring comes and you're elated to see the budding of new life, fascinated to watch a pidove nest of eggs hatch outside Gear Station- Emmet's watching with you, enraptured.
When time stretches on, you aren't bothered by it. Even if the minute dragged on for a thousand years, it's only a minute- And it will eventually end. You flip between being oddly patient- And horribly impatient. Ingo comforts you- Reminding you that everything has it's time, no matter how long it must take.
"When do I start turning into a cool monster like you guys?"
Ingo looked up at you, you being seated in his lap- It was their favorite way to hold you. "Whatever do you mean, Dear?"
"You said I'd... have... some changes after you did that soul-bond thing- But to be honest, I just feel a little... weird."
Ingo's hand went up to your face, brushing back the edges of your hair. "You mean you thought you'd... turn into... something like myself, or like brother-?"
"I mean, a little bit." You said- Trying not to sound too disappointed. Ingo sighed, yet his eyes- Were oddly dark. To take away your humanity- All of it- Both of mind and body-
His grip on your waist tightened, his other hand grabbing your head- Lightly, yet firmly. The shadows about him gathered dark and deep, wispy shades of black smoke trailing from them as they grew long around your dear soulmate-
"Well, my little human-" The voice of the demon rumbling dark and deep-
"Why don't you tell me what you'd like to be?"

I’d imagine at some point when they meet the girl again by complete chance, she’d see them and Dot and start making a fuss about it (“how DARE you steal my precious marill!!”) , a small crowd is gathering and filming this, and when she approached to pick up her Marill, Dot just hops away, into Akari’s arms and blows raspberries at her. She’s of course upset and lets out her anger on Akari by attacking, sending a pokemon at her and trying to forcefully take Dot from her arms. Dot slaps away her hands, sweeps with ease and evolves into an azumarill in front of her eyes. (extra salt on the wound <3
Afterwards most people who have even the slightest idea of how pokemon behave know what happened with the marill that they apparently “stole” (maybe someone asks Akari too and she tells her story as well) and the internet gets a couple more screenshots for proud dad Ingo memes
((this is purely for my own catharsis lmao that girl reminded me of someone in my school
(Oh you’re good, I literally named this girl after three different mean Meghan’s that I knew growing up lol)
So Meghan and her posse would go real quiet after it’s revealed that Akari is actually the missing champion Dawn. Then, when Akari returns to Sinnoh to help with the early set up the Hisui sanctuary, she meets Meghan again by chance. The girl is now suddenly acting all friendly towards her. Complimenting her hair and telling her how she’s such a fan. Telling her how all the work she’s doing the conserve these endangered pokemon is just so inspiring!!
She then puts out her hand and thanks Akari for leveling up her Azurill for her, that was just so nice of her to do!
Akari is frozen as her brain tries to compute the three different kinds of whiplash she’s getting from this total 180 from how this girl treated her at the beach. By this point Akari has been made aware of this girls online crusade against her and Ingo and how she had the backing of the lab. That is, until her 15minutes were up and she lost interest.
Now she’s standing in front of her, acting as if they’re friends who have traded pokemon to help train them up. All of Meghan’s friends are there too, now smiling and waving at Akari, and taking video of this whole exchange.
But this time! Akari’s not alone! She’s got Barry right beside her to back her up, and she can see Ingo and Emmet just down the steet with Professor Rowen and Lucas, the twins having taken notice of the cluster of teens.
Barry bluntly tells Meghan that they don’t have time for her nonsense and got places to be. He’s about to lead Akari away, back to the others, when Meghan grabs Akari’s arm a little to tightly, her press on nails digging into Akari’s skin.
Meghan laughs and ask if Dawn is still mad about what she posted online. It’s fine now, those lab jerk were all liars anyway so she forgives Dawn for not returning she precious Azurill for so long. In fact, Dawn can make it up to her! With an exclusive tour of the Pokémon League for her and her friends! Wouldn’t that be so much fun?
It’s at this point that Dot has woken up, heard enough, and burst from her ball to shove Meghan away from Akari before bouncing back into her arms. And you are indeed correct, by this point Dot has indeed evolved from an Azurill into a Marill.
(It had been during a quiet moment in Unova, the evolution triggered by Akari kindly picking up and returning the berry Dot had been nibbling on, after it had fallen out of her grasp and off the table. It was just another small kindness of the hundreds that Akari and Ingo had already shared with her, and yet it was the moment that ment everything to Dot because she knew she was home)
The moment Meghan sees Dot in her evolved form all that fake niceness drops and she is Pissed. That is her pokemon! How dare Dawn evolve it!
(By this point a crowd has formed, Ingo and Emmet are in it not far behind Akari, ready if she needs them. )
Akari glares at Meghan and only holds Dot closer. Dot meanwhile is blowing raspberries at Megan ‘cause she’s not afraid of her anymore!
In a fit of rage Meghan sends out her only pokemon directly into Akari’s face as she also lunges for Marill. Akari’s reflexes are at the ready for whatever comes out of that poke ball. However Akari was not expecting such a young Cleffa to be what pops out. In a panic to catch the tiny pokemon that’s flying right at her, Akari let’s go of Marill, just as Megan wanted.
Meghan holds aloft Dots original pokeball and calls her back. Dot vanishes into the ball, to everyone’s shock.
Meghan smirks triumphantly at Akari, who’s glaring at her as she holds a scared and crying Cleffa.
But then there’s the sound of a pop and Megan feels her hand suddenly become wet. She looks and sees waters start to dribble out of the cracks of the pokeball, only for the pressure to spike and the waters sprays out until the ball it’s forced open, shattering the hinge. There’s a flash of light and then a very angry Azumarill is standing between Akari and Meghan.
Panicked, Meghan brandishes her other pokeball to call back Cleffa only for Dot to jump forward and slap it out of her hands. The ball bounces and rolls off, stopping by Akari’s foot. Akari picks up the ball and then glares at Meghan, telling her and her friends to leave.
Meghan screams at the crowd and points an accusatory finger at Akari, calling her a thief and demanding she return her pokemon. The crowd, however, stays silent, not even her friends say a word.
And then a single voice pipes up,
“You, are a verrrry terrible trainer.”
From this point the adults would get involved, parents will be called. Professor Rowan will strongly advise Meghan parents to not give her another pokemon until they get her some therapy. He would then have his staff contact every breeder in the region to have the family blacklisted.
Ingo is very proud of his crime neice/daughter and smiles as he watches her coo at her second stolen pokemon.

cw: slight sexual implications
Pairing: Ingo/Reader
~~~~
He had been awake for much too long. Ingo tirelessly rubbed the sleep from his eyes as he continued working on the paperwork. Coming home from work did not always mean relaxation, he knew. Something happened at work, causing an injury which had left him drowning in forms and documents. Emmet had tried to help, but it just was simply impossible to get it all done with how late in the day it had happened. Staying after hours felt cruel as he had been busy all week and missed time with you from it all, so he came home.
Dinner was a quiet affair, where you could clearly see his bag ready to be opened and him to disappear into his office. Ingo's eyes could not leave his food in the deep shame he felt. You casually spoke with him about random happenings, but the sadness was hidden in your voice. He moved into his office to begin the repetitive action. His love for his job was always in a strange competition with his own for you in the beginning days of your relationship, but at this point, it seemed long since passed. However, times like this still arose. The scratching of pen against paper was proving a weak distraction from his thoughts. He was exhausted, craving love, and morally wounded.
“… Ingo,” you whispered, seeing the sleeping man at his desk. His hair clung to his face, his hand still held the pen in his grip. You softly shook him. He jumped up, looking around the room. His eyes landed on you, and he instantly relaxed. “Dearest, you frightened me,” Ingo sat up and rubbed at his eyes, “Did I fall asleep?” You pouted. His lack of attention to his health was bothering you. “Come to bed,” you grabbed his hand, “I want my husband comfortable and well-rested. I don't ask for much.” His cheeks bloomed pink at your words. Husband… That's right… His brain wouldn't allow him to argue. “Alright, my love,” he allowed you to pull him along to your shared bedroom.
Ingo flinched after you locked around your arms around him, carefully pressing his hand against your chest. The blankets were warm around you both. The gentle beating of your heart calmed his already tired mind. It was not long until he drifted off again from the waking world in your embrace. You stroked his hair for a moment with a sigh. He was too dedicated, you worried. It was both good thing and bad thing with him. With a soft kiss to his head, you felt yourself joining him in sleep.
~
Ingo felt embarrassed. Emmet cocked a curious brow at him. This was his twin brother; he could come to him with anything. The younger twin tilted his head. Ingo was staring at him intently, and he knew that either meant he upset with him or had something on his mind. Emmet hummed as his brother continued in silence. “Ingo, you're scaring me,” he finally broke the silence. Ingo grabbed the brim of his hat to hide his eyes.
“Can… Do you mind if I leave a bit early today?” he asked. Emmet hummed and rested his chin in his hand. “Nope! Go home,” the younger twin shook his head, “You look verrry bad, brother.” Ingo head shot up to blankly stare at Emmet. Did he seriously say that? There was a small offence taken. He couldn't have looked that bad! “… Manners, Emmet,” he chided his younger brother, “Thank you.” Emmet shook his head vigorously.
“No need,” he grinned brightly, “You'd do the same for me.”
He would.
~
You were stunned when the apartment door opened earlier than expected. Ingo's voice greeted you, so you calmed down from it being a possible intruder. You had barely started dinner. Did Emmet send him home? Hopefully, he hadn't pushed him out of the office while he sat in his chair again. Putting the knife down, you went to see him.
“You're home early,” you noted, taking his coat from him. He nodded and stepped in properly. His hands loosened his tie as he moved close to you. Arms unexpectedly pulled you into a hug while kisses were peppered to your temple. “I left early,” Ingo spoke with a breathy voice, “I'm sorry that I've been so busy…” You shook your head and stared into his eyes. Dark circles were apparent under them. Leaning forward, you pressed a kiss to his lips. You squeezed him to you. The kiss slowly became more as you sucked his tongue into your mouth. Your hands buried themselves into his silver locks, while his own groped your sides.
Pulling away, heavy breaths were shared. His thigh pressed between your legs.
“Want to make it up to me?” you asked. Ingo grinned sheepishly.
“Of course, my love,” he replied.
Hello!
First I wanted to say I love reading your works they are just 🤌💕 keep up the amazing work
Second if your still taking requests can I have one with Ingo, Emmet, and N with a Luxray Hybrid s/o?
-Vivi💜
Aw, thank you!!! I'm glad you like it!!! <3<3<3
Big strong cat s/o with twig men, we love it, we love it so much <3
🍓🍓🍓
Ingo:
He's more of a cat person, so he very much enjoys your pairing. You'll lie against him while he reads, purring softly as he strokes your hair and scratches at your ears. It's terribly domestic and soft, and he melts every single time. Your purring can easily lull him to sleep
He's the type to twirl your tail around his finger, but he doesn't usually get to do it that long before you're swiping back at your own tail waving in the corner of your vision. Ingo thinks it's cute, and will get you toys to help chase and get your energy out. Then he helps brush out the static you generate so you don't accidentally electrocute someone
He's very impressed by your strength as well, always blushing and hiding his face when you scoop him up. Purr at him while he's in your arms, or flash him a smirk with your fanged canines, and he's rendered speechless. It's very cute, and you do it often, just to fluster him
Emmet:
This man is so ready for cat crimes. Your static with his Galvantula and Joltiks means that you're both pulling the hand buzzer trick on any and everyone who has the unfortunate luck of meeting you. Ingo tries to stop it, but he's target number one, so he also tries to avoid it. An interesting paradox
Emmet adores you and how perfect you are for cuddling. He'll pepper your face in kisses, lips tingling from the static, and sigh as you purr into him. You're getting endless scritches from this man, he can't get enough of your relaxed smile whenever he scratches behind your ears or up and down your spine.
Your strength excites Emmet. Not only is it a gateway into even more shenanigans, he always swoons whenever you pick him up like a bride. You'll carry him around, heads nuzzling, your purrs loud and proud. It's a cute sight, but please, people are trying to battle Emmet on his train? Please?
N:
He thinks you're incredible. Hybrids have always fascinated him, so to have you here, so amazing, and so close to him? He's ecstatic, and thinks you're the most beautiful thing he's ever seen.
N enjoys learning about your hybrid nature and instincts. Should you let him, he'll fawn over your cute ears and tail, laugh as the static you generate makes his hair hair stand up. Your warm and fun to cuddle
Should you have any cat-like instincts, N will indulge you in them. He'll give you things to chase and bat at, will buy you catnip if you want. He adores how playful it can make you, and loves watching your pupils slit and widen into large circles.
Also very into how strong you are, able to lift him easily (he doesn't seem to realize he is a beanpole, bless) and carry him around places. It makes him swoon, and he always makes sure to scratch your cute ears while in your arms. He likes how they flick in repsonse
🍓🍓🍓
Sigh. It's hard watching other people live out your dreams.
Have a great day, love <3
Hello! I'm here again with an x reader this time with Emmet! This was a request that my friend @nartothelar did a whiiiiiile ago when I was asking for ideas to write and I finally finished it! Hope you guys enjoy!
You can read it on ao3 here
-
You could hear the soft sound of a guitar, somewhere deeper into the apartment. The pastries you bought, now out of the to go box and in a plate, could wait. A paper towel covered them as you went on to investigate the calm notes floating almost lazily through the hallway, your sticky hands were quickly wiped on a table cloth.
Your socked feet made muted thumps on the wooden floor as you followed the sound. Emmet’s door was slightly ajar, and now, closer to his room, you could hear a hum accompanying the chords.
You decided to knock, let him know you were there instead of suddenly opening the door and startling him, but, despite your best effort, you still heard a yelp and something hard hitting wood, a hiss.
“Sorry, Emmy, are you alright?” As you finally entered the room, you were met with the sight of Emmet in his bed, an acoustic guitar laying next to him while he massaged a knee.
“I am Emmet, I'm fine. I didn't know you were here.” He recovered quickly, knee just a bit red now but looking fine otherwise as he sat cross legged and faced you.
“Ingo let me in before he went to work, said you were probably still in your room since it's your day off. And sorry again, I didn't mean to surprise you like that. I got curious, didn't know you played the guitar.” You sat down next to him, your own legs thrown over the edge of the bed instead.
“I do not talk about it much. It is one of my hobbies but I feel like a boring one compared to other things I do.” Emmet grabbed the guitar, bringing it to his lap as you assume he was doing before you knocked.
You leaned on his shoulder and as naturally as if he was breathing air, he kissed the top of your head before resting his cheek against you. Your hands met in the space between your thighs.
“The song was very pretty. Does it have any lyrics?”
He hummed an affirmative, letting your hand go only to bring his back to the guitar, swift fingers moving over the strings.
“ I close my eyes
For once I don't have to try
I'm well-wishing for a life
I picture you happy, oh…”
Softly he sang, cheek still pressed against you, his voice taking an almost raspy quality as he followed the notes. You felt yourself relax, body just shy of limp where it rested against his side.
As the song finished, Emmet put the guitar to the side so he could hug you close. You knew, without him having to use words, that he was comfortable and happy, holding you, hiding his face on your hair.
“I didn't know you liked this type of music.”
“It’s from an artist that Ingo showed me, don't tell him I learned it, he'll make fun of me.”
“Why? Did you make fun of him for liking it in the first place?”
He only hummed again, more than enough answer for you. Emmet couldn't see the mischievous grin plastered on your face, but he probably felt it from your silence, sighing loudly about it what in turn got an evil laugh from you.
After a few moments, you quieted down, just enjoying each other's presence until a thought suddenly made you jolt, making Emmet sit up quickly to avoid a hit to the chin.
“Emmet! I left pastries on the counter!”
He answered with an alarmed look. The joltiks.
You raced back to the kitchen, stumbling, almost face planting once or twice, but just in time to see Eelektross scolding the tiny spiders. From their positions it seems like he stopped them just in time.
“Thank you, Eelektross!” Emmet exclaimed as he walked up to the eel, grabbing his face between his hands and swerving him gently side to side while cooing compliments and promising treats.
While the pair was busy you went back to the food, giving the joltiks a long look before stealthily pulling a battery from your pocket. They immediately perked up but you stopped just shy of their reach.
“This is all yours if you promise you won't try to take any more pastries, deal?” You barely finished whispering and the little ticks quickly nodded their heads, skittering away the moment they had a hold on the battery.
“Want to watch a documentary while we share these?” You quickly turned, trying not to act suspicious but almost dropping the plate when you found Emmet's face a breath away from yours.
“Verrrrry naughty, giving them treats after they misbehaved.” Despite the words he couldn't hide his amusement.
“Aw, c'mon, it's a peace treaty.” You paused. “Or should I say… a peace treats-y!”
Your boyfriend only looked at you for a long second, face unchanging. “I am Emmet and that was very bad.” With no other word, he walked to the living room, already picking the controller up to turn the TV on as you followed right behind him.
“It wasn't that bad, it was electric .”
“I will bite you.”
“Is that a promise?”
He answered with a huff and a shake of his head, dropping himself on the couch with his legs splayed out. You sat on the other side of it, throwing your legs over Emmet’s thighs as he rested his hands on top of them, his thumbs playing a nonsensical rhythm on your skin as the narrator started on the history of trains in the region of Kanto.
Emmet seemed very into the program, despite having seen it before, but your mind kept going back to the moment you two shared in his room.
“Emmy?”
“Hm?”
“Do you know any other songs on the guitar?”
He gave you a questioning look, documentary momentarily forgotten while he tried to gauge where this was coming from.
“I just didn't expect you to be into music like this, got me curious.”
His eyes stayed on you for a few more moments, a thoughtful look replacing the curiosity until he gently picked your legs up, dropping them back on the couch and stood up fully only to disappear in the hallway. You heard his steps coming back not long after, this time with his guitar in hand. You moved so he had space to sit down on the couch again.
After a few moments of rearranging himself, his fingers met the strings, sounding them out before actually playing.
“So up rolls a riot van and sparks excitement in the boys
But the policemen look annoyed”
As Emmet sang, his voice got that raspy tint again, this song had more of a laid back feel to it, like something you'd play while sitting around a fire pit in the beach. From the lyrics it was obvious that he chose this one to get a laugh from you.
“And please stop talkin’ ‘cause they won't find us if you do
Oh, those silly boys in blue…”
Following the words he nudged you with his elbow, looking at you conspiratorially. You rolled your eyes even though you couldn't quite keep the smile off of your face.
“‘Have you been drinking son? You don't look old enough to me’
‘I'm sorry, officer, is there a certain age you're supposed to be? ‘Cause nobody told me’”
Now you did laugh, from the drawl on his voice to match the words, the silly faces he made as if acting along as the characters. You couldn't help the fondness that seemed to blossom in your chest.
As the song ended you cheered loudly for him, earning a shove with not much heart behind, it was impossible to miss the amusement on the curve of his lips.
“You can keep playing, y'know?” You blurted out.
He gave you a questioning look, head tilting to the side.
“I really don't mind, and… it's nice.” Your voice was a bit quieter at the end. There was a lot more going on in your head than you could verbalize but it seemed like Emmet understood.
He offered a hand, which you accepted, getting comfortable as he pulled you closer, letting you lean on his side as he got in a better position to support you while still playing. An instrumental intro lasting a few moments before his voice joined the melody.
“You've done
Me wrong
For a long long time…”
Warm light covered the living room, the morning making way for the afternoon, the city in movement contrasting the calm atmosphere that surrounded you. You brought your knees up, hugging your legs while your head found his shoulder once again. Emmet’s voice fell over you like a soft blanket making you close your eyes, your breathing evening out.
You didn't really notice when the song ended, distantly feeling careful movement under you, the hollow sound of the guitar being moved to the ground, careful hands pulling you against a firm chest, arms holding you close. It was in that safe embrace that you let sleep fully take you, knowing there was nowhere else you rather be than in your talented partner's arms.
Surprise Adoption - Ch 6
Ingo held the crying Dawn in his arms, considering his options. He decided right then and there. She would stay with him and Emmet for the time being.
Word Count: ~3000
Drayden hadn’t been kidding. It was the longest day Ingo had in a long time. Probably even above the day he had announced his return to the press. Drayden made his way back inside the apartment behind the two girls, who were now essentially best friends. They were chatting excitedly over future plans. Drayden walked in, setting the obnoxious amount of bags on the table. The twins staggered in after him, plopping their loads on the floor by the couch and collapsing into a matching heap. Ingo could hear Drayden chuckling at them from the kitchen. Iris and Dawn, whose hair was newly dyed a light platinum now (which complimented the twins’ hair color), scampered off to her room, taking some items with them.
Drayden returned to the living room, finding his twin nephews still collapsed on the couch with their eyes glazed and breathing shallow. He bent a little at the waist, scrutinizing them with a mirthful glare. “I take it you found the trip rather successful, too?”
They laid there in silence for a minute. “You weren’t kidding. I thought it would be like shopping with Elesa. That was worse. So verrry much worse,” Emmet said. Ingo nodded dumbly. Drayden let out a booming laugh and shook his head, straightening back up.
“Well, start getting used to this. All my trips with Iris are like this. And this one only lasted six hours.”
They both just stared at their uncle for another moment. Then they sat up, groaning. “It is an adjustment… but Dawn seems happy,” Ingo noted. Emmet nodded along. “We can continue if it makes her happy.”
“Good to hear it,” Drayden said, his voice radiating genuine happiness. “I’m sure she’d appreciate the time with you two, as well. She talked nonstop about the both of you the entire time. She idolizes you.”
Ingo felt the soft fuzzy feeling in his stomach again, like some Joltik had wormed their way into him. He nearly giggled like a schoolgirl. “You think so?” he asked, at a loss for what else to say.
“I’m sure of it. I can help you set up a bit of her room tonight, if you like. It will take some time for all of it to be done and I know that she will wish to do much of it herself, but we can get some of the heavier things moved today.” The twins nodded, eager once again now that they had a new destination in mind. Emmet stopped Drayden in the kitchen to go through some of their purchases as Ingo went down the hall to inform the two of their new plans. He came to the knob and stopped, hearing their voices through the crack in the door.
“...don’t really know. I mean, he’s your friend, right? Have you talked to him?”
“Yeah. He… didn’t like the idea of me leaving for Unova by myself. He tried to stop me and he wouldn’t listen. I know he didn't mean it to be mean, he was just worried and he always has a hard time stopping to think before acting, but it hurt. Seeing my best friend so against me coming. And I know that if he catches wind of where I am, he might try to drag me back before I can explain myself. And then Cynthia was so excited to see me and she kept talking about all the things she wants to show me but it was too much and… I don’t know what to do.”
“I heard Dad talking to Cynthia on the phone recently. He said that the Champion was somewhere safe, but needed time to process. He shut her down when she tried talking him into telling her where you were.”
It was quiet for a moment.
“I should thank him. I… was so worried he would tell someone because the adults decided it was for the best that I didn’t hide like this. That’s why I tried to find Uncle Ingo in the first place. I know he can keep a secret. He kept a lot of secrets for me in Hisui, like my own name and the fact that I remembered my life before I fell there.” It was silent again and Ingo heard rustling fabric. “And I know he cared. About me, that is. As a person. Most people only care that I’m the Champion. They don’t care who it is that holds the title, just the title itself. If they can get on my good side, they think they get stuff from me. I’m just a figurehead. I don’t actually do anything except boost morale. But people treat me like I make the laws. And Ingo never cared about my title, even after I told him. He just cared because I was me. Like my mom did. And Barry. I remembered him telling me before I sent him through the portal where he lived and asked me to come visit him and I fully intended to, even before… this happened. But then it did and I couldn’t think of anywhere else and I couldn’t sleep in my old home because I kept thinking Mom was going to call for me but she never did and Barry and his mom just reminded me of her and the entire Sinnoh region was just so full of her and I couldn’t… I couldn’t…” She swallowed thickly. “I had to leave. I couldn’t see people like this. So I got on Staraptor and just flew to Unova. I landed in a town… what was it… Icirrus City? I think? I remembered him talking about trains and I just hopped on the first one I could and rode it until I remembered the name of the town he’d said. I ended up in Nimbasa and I just sat on a bench. I saw him hop off a train and he was standing there, watching the people and I just… I started crying and I ran to him. I couldn’t help it anymore. I’d been holding it in and I just remembered that day in Hisui I was at my worst and Uncle Ingo let me into his house and just hugged me and let me cry and told me it would be okay…”
Ingo remembered this as well. He heard footsteps approaching him from behind, and he held up a hand. He did not turn to see who it was. They stopped.
“And he took me back and I met Emmet. And now I’m here. I’ve been here for a few days already and I feel so… I don’t know. I feel guilty for coming in like this so I’ve been trying to be as helpful as possible but its hard and I don’t really know how to act around Uncle Emmet yet because hes new and Ingo is different to how he was in Hisui, he’s more confident now and I’m not and I’m lost and I’m scared and-”
She was cut off by a sob. It became muffled. “Slow down a sec, okay? I can tell you right now that they both really like having you around. This is honestly the most peppy I’ve seen either of them since the last Subway Convention over five years ago. You said you make them sleep and eat and go home and do normal things. Before you came, they both would literally work twenty-four hours a day if people let them. They love their job, and thats really really good, but they also forget to stop. They both forget to eat regularly and they will have coffee as a meal. Dad gets really worried about them. He knows they’re adults and can’t just dote on them like he did when they were little and lived with him, but he still worries over them. I’m sure Elesa does too, though I don’t see her as much. They’re usually pretty good about keeping each other out of trouble, but sometimes they both get sucked in and need help and don’t think to ask for it. Emmet… it got bad when Ingo was gone. And now that Ingo is back, Emmet is getting better, but I don’t think either of them will ever be like it was before. And you sent him back! You said Arceus was not planning on returning him originally, right? So if you hadn’t been there, we would not have Ingo back at all. Just remember that.”
It was quiet now. Ingo crept away from the door, pushing Emmet away as well and retreating to the kitchen. Drayden was still in there and looked up to say something, but was stopped by their matching expressions. Emmet tapped on Ingo’s shoulder and signed. What do we do?
Ingo blinked. Truthfully, he had no idea. Tell her directly. She needs support.
We have been.
Do it more. I don’t know what else to do. I’ve… never done anything like this before.
How did you handle it in Hisui?
I usually just hugged her and let her talk it out to me. She did not come to me. I don’t want to pry, but she is struggling and I want to help. Ingo let his hands fall. A hand patted both of them on a shoulder, making them jerk up.
“What’s the matter, boys?” Drayden asked quietly. They both stared at their uncle in silence for a moment.
“Dawn was speaking to Iris. She does not think we want her here. Not completely. She spoke of her friends from Sinnoh. She is crying. We don’t know what to do.” Emmet spoke more softly than Ingo, and was thus able to take over for him. Ingo nodded solemnly, his eyes not quite meeting anyone else’s.
“I see. If it were me, I would wait until she came to you about it. She is just worried about overstaying her welcome, is she not?” Both nodded. “Then remind her that she is allowed to stay as long as she needs. As often as she needs. I can tell you both care for her a great deal. I think one good way to show it will be to start with her own space, so she feels less like she’s just couchsurfing and more like this is her home. Let’s give them a couple more minutes and then go knock and ask if they want to start setting up, alright? I know Iris is eager to start and Dawn seemed excited, even if she didn’t show it.”
The three of them broke off after that. Ingo made himself some tea and Emmet sat at the table and checked his Xtrans. Drayden used the restroom and knocked on Dawn’s door. “Are you girls ready to start setting up? We may have taken enough of a break now to get started.”
Ingo could hear Iris’s voice float out of the room. “Oh, yeah! Just a sec, girl talk, we’ll be out in a bit!” Drayden then reappeared, sitting down with them and gazing out the window. Ingo hoped this worked.
The girls appeared, Dawn looking no worse for wear and Iris about to burst at the seams. “Let's get this show on the road!” Iris called, leading Dawn over to the bags of things.
“We were thinking we could move the heavier items into the room, and leave much of the rest of it to you. It’s your room now, after all. You are welcome to decorate as you wish,” Ingo said as he sipped his cup. He inwardly cringed. The taste was never quite the same it had been in Hisui, the Lilligant tea.
With all five of them working together, they managed to get the purchases moved into the room and most things situated before Drayden announced his and Iris’s departure. Iris tackled both of the twins in a hug, telling them to see her again, and then latched on to Dawn, muttering something to her as she let go, waving and walking out with Drayden.
Ingo and Emmet informed Dawn that if she would like help, they were just a call away, and otherwise, they would leave her to finish however she wanted. She told them she would be alright. They both nodded kindly, leaving her to her own devices and mindlessly cleaning around the living room.
Truth be told, neither of them knew what to do with this much free time. Their job was their hobby and their hobby was their job. Now that they had legitimately nothing to do, but neither was ready to sit still and watch TV yet, they moved on autopilot, neither truly thinking their actions through as they did them. Ingo picked up a photograph and dusted under it. Emmet passed a vacuum under the couch. Ingo washed what few dishes there were in the sink. Emmet wiped down the table and the baseboards. Ingo dusted off the walls and ceiling. Emmet deep-cleaned the bathroom.
And so on.
They managed to make dinner eventually. Or rather, Ingo made dinner while he had Emmet do things like cut vegetables and measure out ingredients. Ever since Hisui, Ingo had gotten better at cooking. He remembered one recipe that Dawn had taken to, back in Hisui. He hoped it would cheer her up.
As dinner finished, he sent Emmet to gather Dawn and set the table, still wearing his old apron. It was a gag gift from Elesa that said ‘kiss the cook’. He wore it just to annoy her, really. He set out three steaming bowls of the stew that he knew she liked, along with empty glasses and some spoons. He had to shoo away some Joltik. He fussed with the placemats on the table and took off his apron and did some dishes… what was taking Emmet so long?
Ingo went down the hall, stopping just outside the open door. It was bright inside Dawn’s room. He hovered his hand to knock as he heard Dawn speaking.
“...you sure? I mean… I just appeared one day and I know that we’d never met before. I was close with Uncle Ingo and I know you guys are super close because you’re twins and all, but we still had never met and I’m just in your house now with my ghost mom and all my problems.”
“I do not mind. I am Emmet. I am your uncle now.” Ingo could practically hear the smile in his brother’s flat tone.
“Only because I made you be-”
“Dawn.” It was silent for a moment. “I am Emmet. I am part of a two-car train. My other car was taken. I stayed one car for four years. It was lonely. I was lonely. I had Elesa and Uncle Drayden and Iris and our Pokemon. But I did not have my other car. They told me he was gone for good. He was dead. He left. Many things. I knew he did not. Ingo is not like that. And I was right. But I still stayed here, alone, for four years. Now he is back, and things have gotten better. I am not alone anymore. And he brought back a caboose. I still have nightmares that he is gone and all this is a dream. But then I wake up and you both are there. It is comforting.”
It was quiet again. Ingo heard the soft movement of fabric, but he did not enter. After a few moments of silence, he knocked gently, making himself known. “Dinner is ready, you two. Come refuel before it gets cold.”
“Coming, Ingo,” he heard Emmet announce. Ingo moved away from the door and back into the kitchen, finding that Joltik had invaded one of the bowls. Ingo sighed and ladled out a new bowl, placing the Joltik bowl on the other side of the table and replacing it with the fresh bowl. As he was finishing scolding the Joltik, two pairs of feet entered the kitchen. Dawn trotted in first, sitting at the table. Emmet followed close behind her, catching Ingo’s eye. Emmet blinked. Ingo nodded, almost imperceptibly. Emmet’s smile quirked up a little bit more. Ingo lifted his hand and closed it into a fist, jerking it in a nodding motion. Emmet curtly shook his head.
“Are you guys actually having an entire conversation over there?” Emmet grinned as he slipped past Ingo, a hand snaking out and messing up his silver hair, making his older brother grunt in indignation. Ingo narrowed his eyes as he dried his hands and sat next to Dawn, squinting at Emmet with a sour expression. He purposefully did not fix his hair. Emmet snorted. “Telepathy, I swear,” Dawn sighed.
The meal went well. Dawn seemed excited about the food in particular, her eyes lighting up as soon as she spooned the first bit into her mouth. “Uncle Ingo, is this that one stew that I liked in Hisui? The one you couldn’t make much because you had trouble finding the ingredients?” Ingo nodded at her. She had noticed! “I missed this so much, thanks for making it again!” Ingo reached over and patted her shoulder. Internally, he was beaming. She had noticed! His plan had worked!
“Well, of course, Dawn. It was time to make something different for once, anyway.” Emmet made a noise of approval, too, making Ingo feel that fuzzy feeling again. It was nice to cook for others again. He spooned some of the concoction into his mouth, noting the creamy flavor so he could emulate it again next time. The Joltik seemed to enjoy it as well, greedily lapping up their own bowl and throwing off little sparks.
“We have another day off tomorrow, as it is Sunday,” Ingo said after he cleared his mouth. “Is there anything we would like to do in particular?”
“I kind of missed being outside,” Dawn admitted. “I don’t know what there is to do around here, though. All I know about is the train station.”
“Ingo,” Emmet said, getting his attention. He grinned and held up both hands, curling the first two fingers into claws and pawing at the air with them. Ingo’s eyes brightened as he recognized the sign.
“What does that mean?” Dawn asked.
Ingo merely said, “I believe you will enjoy our thoughts for tomorrow,” as he shoveled more of the flavorful broth into his mouth, his lips quirking up ever-so-slightly.
You had known the twins since childhood. The three of you were always playing, and getting into mischief. They were obsessed with trains back then, You even remeber sitting down to three hour long lecture on trains, and why they are the best transportation to exist. However Even back then you were on the heavier side compared to them, and you could hear the other kids snicker and make mean comments. Though they always reminded you that they didn't care about your size and always reassured you that they loved being friends with you because your you. So you never let the comments from others get to you until the three of you were in the middle of your pokemon journey. It was when you met Elesa that you felt the mean comments to be true. Looking back at it now you knew they werent at fault, but you couldn't help but feel jelousy well up inside when you saw the three of them together. They were so pretty, charismatic, and just amazing. While you....were just you. So one night while the three of them were sleeping you quietly left the little camp, and finished your journey careful not to run into them again. It's been years since then. You haven't fully grown past your insecurities, but you have gained confidence in your fuller form even wearing cute shorts and tank tops that show off the curves! You were proud at how far you've come and always wondered if they would be just as proud of you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You shook your head. You shouldnt be spacing out in a busy subway, and besides It was pointless going down that train of thought. You were probably nothing more then a buried childhood memory to them.
Snapping out of your thoughts you looked up from your phone, and looked around your surroundings. It was then that your eyes met familiar silver ones.
Near the door stood Ingo and Emmet themselves. Emmet was chatting about something you couldn't make out due to distance, and ingo was watching over the passengers when he spotted you.
Time seemed to slow down as the two continued keep eye contact until you blinked, and he was gone leaving Emmet to look around just confused as you at the twin's disappearance.
It didn't take you long to find the subway master though as people made way for him as he made his way towards you. Feeling nervous and scared you stood up and tried to quickly make your way to the door on the other side of car.
Your attempts were cut short as a hand grabbed a hold of your wrist followed by a loud but nervous "Y/n?!" The car was silent now as the people around you tried to make out what was going on.
But you couldn't face him, not now, and not after so many years of avoiding. Unluckily for you Ingo didn't give you much of choice as he dragged you to his and Emmet's office yelling back at his brother to watch over the station.
When the two of you finally make it back to the office it was like a damn broke. Through your sobs you told him everything. you insecurities growing up, and how you didn't feel like you belonged anywhere near them.
Hearing you say such terrible things about yourself hurt Ingo more then words could describe. so without much thought he wrapped his arms around you , and ran his fingers through your hair.
"Never once had me and Emmet thought of you as a burden. I...We were so terrified when you weren't at the camp. it wasn't until we reached a gym did we hear you were okay.....but we never stopped looking."
Ingo felt his dress shirt get damp as you buried your face in his chest, but that didn't matter to him. You were finally here.
He made a promise that day. No matter how long it took he would help you love yourself just as much if not more then he loved you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sighing you put your phone down. Such memories aren't things you should worry about in a busy subway car. Besides it mattered not if they remembered you or not. You are nothing more the childhood memory.
However just as that thought it came to pass you felt someone or something grip your shoulders like a life line. looking up your eyes met familiar silver eyes of a now not so smiley subway boss.
"y/n.." your name came out as a whisper as if he couldn't believe you were here, but before you could respond he completely collapsed in your arms.
You could feel his arms tighten around you as your shoulder became damp. "I've missed you for so verrrry long."
It took a few minutes for emmet to calm down before promptly dragging you to his and Ingo's shared office. He NEEDED to hear why you left him so long ago.
However when you explained to him through tears of your own how unworthy you felt, and how you didn't want to ruin his chances of being taken seriously with a charity case by his side he almost lost it again.
Instead he once again wrapped you in tight embrace as you hide your face in his chest.
"I have never thought of you as anything less then perfect, and I'm verrrry sorry you had to go through this alone...but I promise you will never have to fight this alone again. I'm here now and I'm not going anywhere."
Your sobs continued but it didn't matter to emmet because he knew you were safe now, and he plans on keeping it that way.
Object permanence got me feeling some kind of way, so i wanted to write something about it. Mind the warnings, this is a bit heavier than my usual stuff. To my peeps who suffer from object permanence issues, you aren’t uncaring or unloving. You are valid and amazing and you shouldn't feel guilty for not missing the people you love.
Hurt/comfort, no beta I die like wormgo.
Tw: grief/loss, object permanence, guilt, internalized ableism
Summary: Sometimes Emmet thinks his smile isn't as forced as it should be.
—————-
“Take all the time you need, Boss.”
“It’s okay to cry.”
“You don’t need to pretend for us. We’re here for you.”
The words were harmless. Well-meaning, even. Coming from his depot agents, Emmet knew they were meant to put him at ease. To give him time to recover.
They hurt like a knife in his gut.
He wasn’t pretending.
Emmet had a new schedule. He brewed enough coffee for one. He fed all 12 of their pokemon. He left a generous tip for the sitter and packed six balls on his belt. He walked to Gear Station, filling the empty silence to his left with soft humming. He entered the station a few minutes early as he always did. He passed by the night shift agents on their way out and wished them a good day. He made sure the morning shift agents were situated in place before the brief break in service ended for the morning.
The depot agents left him alone for the most part. It was easy to ignore the pitying glances and the compassionate eyes when he only ever looked at their mouths or nose. Sometimes, though, they would try to remind him that it’s okay to not be okay.
His first reaction was to remember. His brother was not there. Ingo was gone and there weren't any leads on where he went.
His second reaction was shame. Ingo was gone, and Emmet was fine. What kind of a person was he, to forget his twin?
——————-
It shouldn’t have been a surprise to Emmet when the general public started to pick up on it. The Battle Subway was ridiculously popular, and as one of the heads, Emmet was a verrry public figure. He should have known that whispers would start.
“Well, isn’t he cheery.”
“Seems odd that the double battles trains are running the same as ever.”
“I know a forced smile when I see one. That isn’t it.”
Elesa complained that the media vultures had no idea what they were talking about. Emmet could only hum in reply. It was hard to agree with her when the things they said were the same things that played in his mind whenever he thought of Ingo.
—————
It happened like this. Emmet found one of Ingo’s spare coats in the closet. It hurt to look at, and Emmet was tempted to throw it into a box and hide it in a corner until he forgot about it, but he couldn’t bring himself to let go of the sleeve.
He stayed there for a while. He felt an ache build in his chest and his fingers as his hands curled tighter into the fabric. Emmet leaned into the feeling, allowing it to sink in and take hold of him. Wasn’t this how he should feel? His brother was missing, presumed dead by the public if not by the law. Emmet should be in pain. He shouldn’t be able to go on like nothing had changed.
Elesa found him spread out on his bed with Ingo’s coat on, his pokemon having long since given up on moving him.
“Emmet,” she called through the doorway. Her voice was heavy with sadness. Whether it was from seeing Ingo’s coat, or seeing Emmet like that, he couldn’t tell.
“Elesa,” he replied flatly. “You miss Ingo, right?”
Emmet kept his eyes on the ceiling as he heard a sigh. The bed to his right dipped under her weight.
“Is this about that awful gossip piece? I told you not to pay attention to that.” Elesa combed her fingers through his hair as he blinked the prickling dryness out of his eyes. His cheeks itched from salt tracks, but he didn’t bother with rubbing his face.
“They are right though. I do not miss him. Not unless something reminds me he is not here.” He fiddled with the end of Ingo’s collar, catching the black in his peripheral vision.
“Oh Emmet, sweetie. Of course you miss him.” Eless’s voice broke as she took Emmet’s hand in her own. They were warm. Emmet met her eyes with a skeptical look, but he didn’t protest. “Look at yourself, you’re doing it right now.”
“I am Emmet. That is because I’m trying to be sad.” It sounded like a weak excuse even to him.
“Don’t try that with me. We both know you’re the first to cry over a sad lillipup movie,” She chuckled good-naturedly, and Emmet’s mouth twitched at the corners. Elesa continued when she saw his smile return. “You don't have to be sad constantly to grieve. It's okay to be okay sometimes. That doesn’t mean you don’t care. It just means you have to work through this differently.”
Emmet blinked tears away as her words sank in. She gave him time to process what she said as she rubbed the back of his hand with her thumb. After a minute, he gave her a tiny nod.
“Okay,” he conceded with a sniffle. Unfortunately, his pokemon took the response as an invitation to approach, and the two of them were swiftly buried in a cuddle pile. Fresh out of a crying spell, Emmet immediately burst into tearful laughter at their antics.
“I am sorry I worried you all. I am back on track now.” Emmet grinned.
“Do you wanna change, or…?” Elesa trailed off.
“Nope,” Emmet chirped. “Even if I could escape. I would not want to. I would like to keep this for now.”
“Suit yourself. Just don’t let yourself spiral like that again, got it? I’m always just one call away.”
“Understood, Miss Elesa Nimbasa.”
