15: Favorite one-on-one conversation (can be between two PCs, or a PC and NPC).

Caleb and Fjord in episode 62, Domestic Respite. That has been my favorite conversation since I first heard it and it still is. Caleb's "We can remake ourselves into something better" is, to me, the thesis of what the Mighty Nein campaign is about. That is The Ultimate conversation for me.

I do want to shout out Beau and Caleb's one-on-one in episode 57 though, too, because I do genuinely love that conversation and how it so viscerally feels like a turning point in their relationship and the campaign as a whole. Also Beau saying "You don't have to thank me for my time like you're a social worker" and then giving Caleb just a really long awkward hug lives in my head rent free

30: What is your favorite theory or headcanon that has absolutely no bearing on the plot and isn't important at all, but which is completely compliant with canon?

Okay as far as I am aware, this is canon compliant and if it's not don't tell me let me live in it, but it's "Eshteross is Fjord's dad." I have tethered myself to that theory. I am it's cheerleader. The only one who can take this from me is Matt

5: Meta you would write if you did not fear people would be SUPER weird about it. This is also an invitation to write that meta and block the haters.

Oh boy. there's quite a few honestly. But first that comes to mind is an expansion of that very brief (not maintagged) post I made exploring why Imogen has frustrated me as a character and despite wanting to like her, I really just find myself unable to connect with her. In conjunction with this, I think there is something to be said about Imogen and Laudna's relationship holding each other back from developing more. Something about the way they always reach for each feels like a stagnation of their developments that just leaves me wishing we could see them interact with more members of the group more often or to, honestly, see their codependency come up as a topic/be addressed in canon or sever more than it has to date.

It's like you know that conversation Nott and Caleb had in c2e46: Caleb said, "lately, I've gotten a little wrapped up in the group. I've forgotten about us. I've forgotten." And that's an interesting character beat! It'd be something different from the same homogeneity that their relationship has been dawdling in. The rock fight is the most interesting thing that's happened between them and that didn't even get all that heated or really change anything! Like not to abandon all attempts at maintaining a formal discussion on the topic, but I am emotionally poking their relationship with a stick saying "do something already"

Honestly, I feel like a very long meta could be written about the way that fandom had pigeonholed Veth a "Mother" that doesn't actually leave room for her to be a person. I have seen so many people boil down her character to nothing more than a "mom," as if that's a character trait and not just something that she is. Like, yeah, she IS a mom. But "mom" isn't a personality and I don't know why the fandom treats it like one, and then goes so far as to continually behave like Veth is not just Luc's mom but Caleb's too, which she has not only repeatedly said she is NOT, but has openly and canonically admitted to having romantic/sexual attraction to him to the point where I'm like.......what do you think mothers are like? And that's not even about shipping. Shipping goggles are off, friends. That's about ignoring canon and vital character details that contribute to Veth's overall character arc that are willfully forgotten. And man, does that grind my gears.

Okay that's probably enough salt (this got long, sorry) and I can't think of anything off the top of my head for 11, but if something comes up I might add it.

1 - chipotle order? the boring answer to this one is that i don't remember having ever eaten chipotle. my burrito chain of choice is barberitos, which is mainly in the southeast; there was a location right around the corner from my apartment in savannah during my junior and senior year of college. i'd get marinated tofu and black beans, and probably some veggies and things but mostly i remember that tofu, which was phenomenal.

7 - what animal do you look forward to seeing when you visit an aquarium? i like seeing all the different types of fish and reading all the plaques! also polar bears if they got em.

18 - your boba/tea order? my once again boring answer is that i don't like boba and i stopped drinking caffeine when the pandemic hit! i do however have a huge jar of adagio teas' rooibos vanilla chai which i adore.

27 - what’s your favorite or go-to outfit? black overalls and a striped shirt is what would be on my model sheet if i was a cartoon character. if i want to be slightly more fancy (or all my overalls are in the wash), a loud button-up shirt, pleated trousers, and suspenders.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I'm having a hard time thinking of a color I just outright dislike. Colors have their time and places. However I WILL stand by the opinion that any anime that tried to make a Hot Man with Green Hair failed. No anime man with green hair has ever been hot. There can be good character designs with green hair (Deku gets a pass) but no Hot Man From Anime has ever actually looked hot with Green Hair.

I generally love vegetables, but I don't especially like eggplant or green bell peppers. I'll eat them both if they're in a dish that's served to me, and I won't gag on them or anything, but I probably won't deliberately cook with them. I do like baba ghanoush, though, and all other types of bell peppers. Green ones just taste like grass clippings to me. 😝

Okay, answering seriously in descending order of preference: freezing, drowning, burning. Freezing would, in my opinion, be the least awful way to go (even as someone who hates being so much as chilly), because at some point, you just fall asleep. It’s painfully cold until you get to that point, but mostly it’s getting sleepy to the point that your body goes ‘hey actually you know what? fuck this’ and shuts down. From what I understand drowning sucks ass, but I think it’s generally pretty quick? Mainly it’s number 2 because burning is hands down the worst way to go; unless you’re lucky enough to get taken out by smoke inhalation, you’re dying slowly in excruciating pain until your brain overloads from shock. So yeah. :/

26. how’s your spice tolerance?

Lol, my spice tolerance could be best described as ‘exactly what you’d expect from a white lady from the Midwest.’ I like spices, as in flavor and curries and such, but I don’t like spicy. I have enough allergies/food intolerances that hurt me as it is, I’m not signing up for food that hurts me on purpose.

i'm assuming these are for the weirdly specific artist ask meme (tho i am happy to accept questions from the other weirdly specific ask meme i reblogged!), so:

9: What are your file name conventions? Pretty descriptive, and I don't usually save a whole lot of versions of a given file, now that I have cloud backup with a 30-day file history. I have folders for each year, which is nice because I can use the simplest name for whatever I'm drawing without worrying if I already named something, like, catboys.clip a year ago.

18: An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken. This is a tough one because I mostly work digitally now, and also I am very bad at estimating things in general. Certainly I broke a ton of pencils and charcoal when I was in art school. If computers count as art supplies: I am on my fifth consecutive Surface Pro 5 because Things Kept Happening just barely within the warranty windows for each one and they're fiddly exotic creatures that are practically impossible to repair. I also got a rapidograph pen in college that I tragically did not clean properly and it gummed up beyond repair.

26: What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended? This is a really good question!! The first one that comes to mind is my original lumberjack pinup guy drawing, which some folks on tumblr at the time thought looked like a particular guy from a web series I'd never heard of. it got a lot more notes than any of my other art at the time, but I was quite uncomfortable with people thinking I'd drawn slightly suggestive pinup art of a real human stranger, so that was a fun emotional rollercoaster.

A slightly more fun one is the numerous people who got at least a chapter into my webcomic before realizing that the two lead characters were both women and gay for each other.

NOT GOOD!! NOT GOOD!! Everyone can fight me. Mint is on thin thin THIN fucking ice already. It only gets a pass from me in cases where it serves to very subtly accentuate another flavor. It needs to keep its toothpaste ass away from chocolate.

I can't think of any particular mythical creatures I believe in. That said, I think the world is big and there are many amazing creatures here we have yet to discover. For now, I have enough trouble comprehending the existence of tardigrades and giant squid.

Medium white-person tolerance? I enoy spicy food, I happily add chili oil to ramen and noodles, I LOVE hot salsa and put Tajín on everything I can. But when I order Thai or Indian food I never get higher than a 2 (out of 10) spice level because if I do I simply cannot taste the food. 😅

28. last meal on earth?

If it's ANYTHING at all, I'd like some of the hummus and pita from Elia's Mediterranean Restaurant in Virginia Beach, which closed years ago, but I still dream about that hummus. (I was a regular and knew the owners, and before we moved away I asked if he'd give me the recipe. He smiled a beautiful smile and said, "No.") Also, the hot and sour soup from the Chinese place I used to eat at all the time at university, which also closed years ago.

If it has to be a meal I can actually access, then...hm. Honestly, probably it would depend on what I was in the mood for! I like many, many different things. I'll almost always eat a good grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup, tho.
