Ahh, brotherly love.
Me with an old junk again, because I do revision of it.
This one definitely doesn’t go into “best of” category. If anything, it’s one of the sloppiest I’ve produced so far, very ‘concept before execution’, but I just felt like make tribute to this plotline. Also from April 2022.
Have you seen the character appearing and it did strike you with thought “it’s *my* character”, as if it was concocted specifically catering to the way you’d like to deal with your creation? It’s me and that moment of physical (well, sort of) appearance of Bruno in WDTAB. Mysterious – yet well-meaning – asocial person with apparent penchant for good-natured trickstery gleefully summoning rain as he comes into picture… And “…by doing so, he floods my brain…” is terrifyingly accurate description of how I responded to it.
I interpret Bruno’s ‘prank’ as his means to prove Pepa, who might have second thoughts before wedding, that her love is true and can overcome any obstacles. Sure, if her feelings were shaky, any little impediment could be regarded as sign to not follow with her decisions, but also, if she was having doubts about her marriage without getting any sign of confidence in it, she, as fretful as she gets, would’ve continued putting it on trial and, eventually, getting her worst concerns confirmed (“sow the wind and mow the storm”, so to say!). It required whole hurricane to see how strong her and Félix’s love is, it blew away everyone except them (even if it’s a fantasy recreation, it seems symbolic). I guess she still was in need of tangible proof that Bruno’s intentions were coming from the place of love (with song and dance number no less), even if it took the form of mischief. In the script it says, she “bursts in tears” at his confession, poor thing. I think she always knew, just was giving in to overdramatizing things (“making a storm in a teacup”, as another proverb says).
I also think, as easy-going as Félix seems, it’s not a cakewalk to deal with Pepa’s moody behavior and keep making her see sunny side of things, so it’s indeed a true love that keeps that union healthy.
And I guess, Bruno actually loves rain, it signifies refreshment and change, after all.
Note 1: “Te voy a matar” means “I’ll kill you”:)
Note 2: You can see my favorite early bug here – the eye closest to viewer is way bigger than other one. Here in particular, it just… does strike the eye!
Note 3: That early on, I still didn’t figure how to draw Bruno to make him recognizable, yet it always did make my day seeing his foolish face appearing on the paper:)

We Don't Talk About Pearl (A Double Life parody)
I hath done it. A fully singable Double Life SMP parody of "We Don't Talk About Bruno". I began working on this last month and finished it a few weeks ago, but keep forgetting to post it here.
The result of this post with the additions of @daisyflow07
---
Note: In order to fit into the song, “Pearl” is chopped into two syllables; per-erl.
Takes place on Day 4 of Double Life.
Enjoy!
Impulse: But the whole server's invited to the pool party!
Cleo: You don't seem to understand. Pearl is bad news.
(Scott separates Cleo and Impulse)
Scott: We don't talk about Pearl, no, no, no
We don't talk about Pearl…
But!
It was the first day
Cleo: It was the first day
Scott: We were out and ready but our soulmates were nowhere around
Cleo: Everyone else found their bound
Scott: Without much a care for our health bar but theirs
Cleo: Torture!
Scott: I mean, you can tell it if you want
Cleo: Thanks but I’m alright, go on
Scott: She ventured to the Nether realm
Cleo: Dragged Martyn with her
Scott: And on the surface brought us hell
Cleo: Him and I only had each other
Scott: Came crawling back, we turned away!
Cleo: And that's the tale of our ex-mates
Both: We don't talk about Pearl, no, no, no
We don't talk about Pearl!
Scar: Hey!
Should be warned of the Scarlet Pearl’s shenanigans
Hear the forest whisper with her scary-sounding stammerin’
I associate her with the sound of crushing snow
Crunch, crunch, crunch
In her high tower overlooking all her pa-awns
Left with despair and she only has her do-og
Wickedness and chaos follow wherever she goes
Or so I’m told!
Ren: A blood-stained hood, demoness assured
If you catch her wrath, you unsheathe your sword
Yeah, she hears your cries and toys with your life
All: We don't talk about Pearl, no, no, no
We don't talk about Pearl!
Joel: Murdered in her party game, with a fishing… rod!
Others: No, no!
BigB: She came and stole our horse, then we died in the Box!
Others: No, no!
Timmy: Brought our own Warden right into our Ranch, and now he’s all gone
Others: No, no!
All: Don’t let her wickedness seep into your thoughts!
Martyn: He told me that she could be the key
And the hand that can help when I’m down
Broken-hearted but still pushing on
To harness her curse for ourselves
Scar (speaking:) Hey, why’s there cookies in your chest?
Grian: I could be with the man of my dreams
But because of her deeds,
He’s cursed as a red name!
It was never meant to be…
It was never meant to be, never meant to be
Scott: Hey, bud
For your sake stay out of her path
Impulse: Um, so Pearl
Yeah, about that Pearl
Is really what they say about you true, Pearl?
Tell me please, just tell me, Pearl!
Bdubs: Everybody, the pool is green!
All: Time to party!
Scott, Cleo, Scar, Ren, & (Martyn):
It was the first day, we were out and ready; it was the first day; should be warned of the Scarlet Pearl’s shenanigans, hear the forest whisper with her scary-sounding stammerin’; a blood-stained hood, demoness assured; (He told me that she could be the key)
But our soulmates were nowhere around; everyone else found their bound; I associate her with the sound of crushing snow, crunch, crunch, crunch; if you catch her wrath, you unsheath your sword; (The hand that can help with I’m down)
Without much a care for our health bar but theirs; torture; in her high tower overlooking all her pawns, left with despair and she only has her dog; yeah, she hears your cries and toys with your life; (Broken-hearted but still pushing on)
I mean, you can tell if it you want; thanks but I’m alright, go on; wickedness and chaos follow wherever she goes, or so I’m told; (To harness her curse for ourselves, as well)
Etho (speaking:) Hey, why's there zombies in your pool?
Scott, Cleo, Grian, Ren, & (Martyn):
She ventured to the Nether realm; took Martyn with her; I could be with the man of my dreams; a blood-stained hood, demoness assured; (He told me that she could be the key)
And on the surface, brought us hell; him and I only had each other; but because of her deeds, he's cursed as a red name, a red name; if you catch her wrath, you unsheathe your sword; (The hand that can help when I'm down)
Came crawling back, we turned away; and that's the tale of our ex-mates; ‘cause he’s down, ‘cause he’s down, ‘cause he’s down, because he’s down; yeah, she hears your cries and toys with your life; ('cause I'm down, 'cause I'm down, 'cause I'm down, I am down)
Bdubs (being killed by Ren and BigB): Oh no!*
All: Don't talk about Pearl!
Impulse (dying:) Why did I talk about Pearl?
All: Not a word about Pearl!
Impulse: I never should've brought up Pearl!
~
*Alternative:
All: She's here!
(still basic but it works)

Re-enacting WDTAB. (From May 2022.)
Because today is apparently the day when events of the movie take place, including the scene in which this musical number occurs.
I simply had an idea of drawing scenes from WDTAB, but with Mira & Bruno playing all parts. Maybe they’re rehearsing to act it on stage? It is fun thing to think all musical material is from scenic retelling of the story made by its characters) Bru’s got this “gift of acting”, he has to work it.
Anyway, it was interesting redrawing from references, while trying to recapture dynamics yet putting a different spin on poses and such, even invent some from head as you can see. (I hope all the moments are identifiable.)
Also, for my favorite version of the titular song, it’s this mash-up with Santana & Rob Thomas’s “Smooth”. (I think I even prefer it over original WDTAB, all while I also like “Smooth” as it’s a cool song on its own and I still love to listen to it. And to be honest, I’m slightly tired of WDTAB already.)
