What do you think about S6 Jay? I've always felt conflicted about his character due to this season, (but that comes from the fact that Skybound is a total mess). I didn't like how he used his wishes to impress Nya so she would date him. It annoyed me that he kept making decisions that wronged his friends because he couldn't let go of the idea she didn't want a relationship with him. I'm conscious this is the consequence of the messy love triangle from season 3, but it would've been nice to see Jay growing up from his relationship with Nya. (And if the writers were so desperate to make Jay and Nya endgame, at least they could've shown us Jay apologizing for everything he did during the season (lying to his friends, not accepting her refusal). They could've shown us Nya bring up the love triangle, and why she went for Cole when she was with Jay. You know, resolve the problems in their relationship and the things each of them did).
But no, they show us Jay making his final wish: "I wish you had taken my hand, and no one ever found that teapot in the first place". That decision feels like he hasn't progressed about his relationship with Nya from the start of the season. At the beginning of Skybound, she clarifies she doesn't want to be with him, so why would Jay wish she had taken his hand? Like, she's dying, and he's still thinking about that moment. What the hell? There were so many ways that scene could've gone, instead of Jay making her do something against her will. (Kind of? I think that depends on the interpretation of each person).
On the other hand, I didn't like how Nya's feelings were handled. One of the main problems her character had to face in season 6 was feeling she wasn't able to choose her destiny. She found out she was destined to be with Jay, and Nadakhan was forcing her to be with him. She literally said she felt that her whole life had been defined by other people, rather than by herself. However, at the end of the season, Jay wishes she had done what she didn't want to do at first.
I don't know, Skybound feels like an amount of missed opportunities for Nya's and Jay's character development.
Oh, skybound. skybound.
This season is a disaster for me and probably the season I feel the most conflicted about.
Overall I think most of the characters this season are pretty ooc. From Cole making sexist jokes for no reason, to Lloyd remaining strangely quiet throughout the EP5 conflict, to Jay throwing his own friends' security out the window to be with Nya. NOT EVEN S3 JAY (which was also a low point) WAS LIKE THIS. Even with all of his insecurities or rivalry with him, as soon as the situation demanded it or Cole was in danger (S3EP9) Jay could focus on what was at stake.
Instead, for some reason during the middle of the season Jay is EXTREMELY desperate to be with Nya to the point that he doesn't even care about his own team.
Look, I don't even mind that they make a season where Jay is an asshole and has to confront the consequences of his actions to learn to be more mature and aware of what he does (most of my fics are like that anyway). Do they want to do a season where Jay lies until his mistakes blow up in his face and where his selfishness is finally tested? I'm on board. If there is something that makes him such an interesting character, it's his flaws. Jay is selfish, he lies very often, he is opportunistic, and that makes his arcs so different from everyone else's.
Now, I hate that this is all solely because of his obsession with Nya. I've said it before but the worst thing about Jaya is when she becomes Jay's only motivation and interest to do everything he does. The season punishes Jay for resorting to wishes, not for continuing to believe that he has the right to be with Nya as if it were a necessity for him. The moral of the season shouldn't be "if you wish something enough, you'll find a way to make it happen" but; you don't need to be with someone else to be happy. Jay doesn't have to depend on Nya for his own happiness, and the season surprisingly never says otherwise.
From start to the ending, Nya remains Jay's final motivation. Literally her final wish is him imposing her will on her again (I know the wish supposedly didn't affect Nya but I think it's a mistake to make a character's wishes remain static from the beginning to the end of history).
so basically the season is a bunch of wasted potential that could have been a really good season to develop both characters. There are good things in S6, I'm not going to deny it. Jay from EP6 onwards has some pretty good moments, like him learning to be a leader, showing that he is a capable and intelligent member who ends up motivating others (Jay inspiring people is a rant for another day). And it's probably the most seriously the show takes his character.
I think the season would be better if it ended up addressing other things as well. There are many hints of Jay feeling worthless, Jay being insecure because he is poor/weak, believing he needs to be with Nya to be happy. And the season doesn't do much with this anyway. So, wouldn't it be better if the season wasn't Jay and Nya getting back together, but rather Jay realizing his own worth as a person? What if Jay resorts to wishes because he doesn't feel valuable as a member of the team? because he starts to believe that Nya is a better blue ninja than him? Or because his powers begin to fail and weaken as he is not maintaining his true potential by allowing himself to be consumed by his own insecurities? There are MANY ways to resolve this conflict without having Nya come back to him as some kind of prize.
...This is spoilers for my Skybound rewrite btw
but yeah, I agree with everything you say, Jay and Nya deserved better this season and I think what affected it the most was making the ending have to be these two getting back together with just ONE episode of them speaking sincerely
Sorry for the long post, Ty for the ask! ^^

Everyone asks about what we want to see in S6, but I'm curious, what are your wants in general for S6 or beyond? Any particular storylines you'd like to see?
Honestly I'm just beyond grateful that we're getting a season 6! (In terms of renewal, and of course the strikes.)
What I want (also includes things I don't want) under the cut!
Tim and Lucy dance at the wedding!!! (it's a need)
KOJOOOOOOOOOOO
The little things: holding hands, a kiss on the cheek, one coming up and wrapping their arms around the other from behind. Just those soft things that are so easily overlooked, but frankly these little moments often have the biggest impact.
CHENFORD I LOVE YOU! That's the only "big" development I need for them in season 6, mostly because I think it should have happened in season 5.
Oh I lied, other big thing I'd really like to see - Chenford living together. Because let's face it, they already do, so might as well make it official already! (Especially if there's a time jump of any kind. Grown ass adults move faster in relationships than 20-year-olds.)
Aaron lives! (I almost didn't bother including this one since he obviously does, but still)
Development to (if not resolution of) everything that's been brewing regarding Lucy's undercover career. I know everyone has their own (strong) opinions on what they want to happen/where they want this to land, but I just want Lucy to have the career she deserves AND the life that she wants (and I personally don't think she can have both with the current state of things) AND for her and Tim to be in a good place. So ultimately I hope she realizes that UC is not for her - BUT NOT JUST BECAUSE OF TIM, because it goes against her character, because she doesn't want to leave herself, her friends, her life behind... (I could write an essay on this, and... oops apparently I have!)
Related the above, but Lucy to advance in her career. Be that as a detective or some other type of promotion or advancement. Girl has been killing it, she deserves it! (As much as I think having Angela and Nyla AND Lucy as detectives is too many detectives, I would loooove to see that trio kicking ass together!)
More Tim and Angela moments. Aside from Chenford, this is my absolute favourite relationship on the show, I adore their friendship and I'd love to see more of it!
Aaron and Celina to be just friends. Petition for more platonic male-female friendships on TV!! And they just give off BFF energy to me
Genny! Moments with Tim, moments with Lucy, maybe tell us her other kid's name... they made a point of moving her character to Los Angeles, I hope they use her!
No pregnancy for Bailey/Nolan. Congrats to Jenna, but we've had pregnancies every season since season 3 and it's a lot. Plus Nolan wasn't keen a few seasons ago, and he's even older now, and giving the lead character a newborn at home would really fuck with the dynamics. Also petition for more female characters choosing not to have kids, representation matters! (Oops another essay...)
Better integration of the various characters. Lots of people dislike Bailey (I am not one of them), but I personally think the biggest hiccup with her character is that she almost exclusively interacts with Nolan. This cast has incredible chemistry, so I would really like to see them play with that more! What I would give for a ladies night with all these badass women (you know they'll stumble across a crime or something...)
I'm sure there's more, but I've yammered on enough. Aside from these things, I'm just REALLY looking forward to my beloved show coming back. This cast is magical, I love how they manage to keep it light, and I'm excited to see what they have planned for us.
And I'm hoping for some renewed inspiration for fic ideas, too! Oh and that reminds me, my biggest want for season 6? RENEWAL FOR SEASON 7!!!!!!!!

for the ask game star trek voyager!!
Thank you sm friend! I already answered a couple of these, but the great thing about being very indecisive is I can give different answers each time <3
Favourite character: B'Elanna Torres, although Kathryn Janeway is a close second (I do have a Janeway-themed url, after all😌)
Second favourite character: okay, I'll talk about Janeway here! Gosh what a deeply flawed individual. She's awesome, and yes, incredibly charismatic and badass, but she's also haunted, complex, and scarily capable of hurting those closest to her (which she does. Like, a lot.) She ends up in charge of a seemingly endless mission, and she cannot afford to crack- not in front of her crew, and not even really in secret- so she begins this seven-year process of what basically amounts to dehumanising herself. Her arc is almost like a long-form merging with Voyager the ship- she is Voyager, and Voyager is her! She will protect her crew and bring them home. She will ensure they get to survive. (What happens to her? Well, she knows she can and will never be the same, but she can't and doesn't think about that right now). She made a mistake and her crew paid the price and the guilt of this eats at her every day, but she cannot afford to acknowledge it or she'll go insane. She tries so hard to stick to her principles but once she's violated a few she starts thinking of her soul as this already-corrupted thing- she knows she can live with it, so why not do something else that's a bit messed up! Better me than any of my crew, right! Like- no wonder she couldn't move on with her life once Voyager reached the Alpha Quadrant in the Endgame timeline. No wonder she had to travel back in time to die in the past. She is so changed by the events of this show that the past the only place she can truly belong. Ugh!!!! I have so many feelings about her!!
Least favourite character: I dislike voyager!Q so much I actually skip all his episodes on rewatch lmao. And I'm someone who actually quite enjoys him on TNG! He's this all-powerful all-knowing omnipotent being who could literally be off anywhere any time doing anything he wanted, and yet he chooses to keep coming back to this one starship just to flirt with the most boring man alive. He literally got kicked out of the Q Continuum for having too much of a hyperfixation on his blorbo. That's funny! And compelling! Unfortunately the Voyager writers did not understand what made this work and decided his only trait was *irritates everybody* (including the audience lol). What he and Picard had was a funny back and forth, a snarky Quodo-style "these horrible old men deserve each other" rivalry. What he and Janeway have is sexual harassment played for laughs 🙃
The character I'm most like: Kes - I went into more detail here :)
Favourite pairing: B7 if we're talking non-canon ships! From canon, uhhhh I guess whatever was going on between Janeway and Chakotay in 'Resolutions' & Tom/B'Elanna before they got together
Least favourite pairing: I don't know if I have one? C7 is the popular answer but I literally straight up forget it exists because it's such a small part of the show, like it doesn't even show up for reals until the finale. I'm not a fan of the way they wrote Tom/B'Elanna for basically all of S5 and S6, and the damage control they did in S7 wasn't bad imo but also felt too little too late. I also dislike Kes/Neelix, though I do think it had potential to be a really interesting breakup arc lol
Favourite moment: That scene from 'Year of Hell' where Janeway has given the order to abandon ship and everyone else is so reluctant to desert the bridge and it looks soooo banged up but she still won't abandon it.... and then Tuvok gives her that hug goodbye..... and she glances at that little gift Chakotay made for her which she didn't have the heart to recycle..... and she talks about what Voyager means to her, and why she has to go down with the ship...... my heart😭
Rating out of 10: Objectively an 8/10, I think the early seasons are GREAT and around midway through they do sort of run out of ideas thanks to their commitment to being as episodic as possible and sidelining more than half the main cast as well as refusing to let the guest cast build up or develop. The show genuinely suffers for it imo! There's a lot of wasted potential, as well as biases of the time that prevented it from reaching true heights- I also wholeheartedly think this show ruined the Borg lol, now 75% more human and 200% less intimidating! However it's also got so many positives- I adore all the main characters so much, and the premise itself gives me so many feels that in my heart it's an 11/10🥰

TOP FIVE MANAGERBOY MOMENTS GO!
OGUGUGUUGUGH LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOO
(putting below the cut bc it got long and also there are Spoilers for anyone who hasn't finished s5. much like with my lobby boy outfits post i didn't include any bonus or new crew eps here)
5: 5.1 merp and burble + 5.5 the bellhop
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
combining these bc i couldn't choose + i like them for the same reasons........ i love both of these episodes bc they're full of these "WHERE IS MY LOBBY BOY" moments from the manager lol. watching her desperately fight against the hotel and tear shit up trying to get to him is so sweet. you can tell she really cares abt him here which makes me very happy bc i feel like that wasn't always the case, but he's grown on her big time lol. there's definitely a sense from her here that she would keep on trying to get back to him as long as she's able to. also the way in merp and burble she continuously refers to feeling lost or like she's lost someone when she's trying to remember him......... it's rlly sweet
4: 4.3 - the habers
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ik this is purely an observation by madam hotel but it counts. this is just a straight up admission from her that the lobby boy feels romantic love or something like it for the manager. it's sad as well bc i think this is kinda before the manager began to reciprocate any of those feelings, so it's a depiction of an unrequited, sad, confused sort of love. but it's love nonetheless. also the "it keeps him warm in his little closet" line is so sweet. it's so cute and a little tragic to imagine him sitting in the closet just daydreaming abt her.........
3: 4.18 - she's always been here (1)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i don't see many ppl talking abt this moment but it's one of my favourites with them. there's something so sweet and sad abt how the lobby boy just wants to help her and make her feel better even though he knows he can't. also him just straight up saying that he belongs with her auugugugh...... they're a set do not separate.........
2: 4.18 - she's always been here (2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
when they see what happens to the owner and they realise they're gonna be separated too........ MAN.......... literally heart breaking. the way they cry out for each other as they're pulled away........ the manager literally pleading trying to save him and screaming when he's gone, i think it's the most emotional we've ever seen her get abt like...... anything ever. she cares abt him so much. also the statement "i wish we were alone" from the lobby boy is so intriguing to me. to me it implies that he wants to be away from the hotel, that he wants to be somewhere where him and the manager (and maybe the owner idk) can just be by themselves without being constantly watched and tampered with and killed. it suggests a desire to be free from surveillance and maybe freedom from the hotel herself? i think it's the only time any of the staff have ever verbally expressed a desire to leave the hotel and i wonder if it's going to be revisited in s6.
1: 5.12 - the reaper's envy
Tumblr media
they're literally holding hands........ the way the manager calls the lobby boy over telling him it'll be ok and then they HOLD HANDS............ collapses onto the floor. augh. not to get sappy but it's amazing how their relationship has grown over the seasons from the relatively cold uncaring dynamic that it was to something beautiful just tentatively growing bit by bit.......... to me this moment is the culmination of that growth so far. it was so cathartic after they'd been separated for so long too and seeing the manager's desperate attempts to get back to him :'-) man i love them so much........... it's so sweet to see the staff in general express genuine care for each other in this episode <3. the manager especially isn't good at expressing her feelings so this scene is probably the closest thing to a heartfelt expression of love that she's capable of, and i like to think that the lobby boy knows that

I have most definitely worn you out with my endless asks but I have a short break from work & tvd nostalgia has sort of taken over me.Plus, I love how analytical your responses are. Please feel free not to respond if you don't want to.
Julie did an interview right before s6 finale where she talked about approaching s6 with two pitches:
1. if Nina decided to continue, they would end the season on a cliffhanger after a mass devastation caused everyone's lives to hang in balance and they wouldn't reveal who wasn't coming back until the end & then spend half of next season saying goodbye to " our character ".
2.If Nina said no,they would do what they had planned for half of next season in just one episode and instead of a cliffhanger,it would be the penultimate episode and then they would spend the finale saying all the goodbyes. In short, everything will be about Elena.
Since Nina left, they went with the second one. Now, hypothetically speaking,if Nina had stayed, who would have been that "our character" they had said goodbye to?You and I both know about the SE-ers claims/argument that SC happened BECAUSE Nina left and apparently PW has given validation to that argument.Taking cue from Plec's post-series finale interviews,it seemed they would have brought back that whole BS triangle all over again and "leave a choice". *snores*
In that case, what do you think would have happened? Would Elena have gone back to her same old "if I choose one, I lose the other" drama leading to the brothers choosing to die together for Elena,as envisioned by Plec and Kevin, when they wrote 2×22 OR, would it have been an entirely different character, depending on renewal &/or cancellation, simply for shock-value?
The first name that comes to my mind is Bonnie Bennett because TVD simply loved killing their sole WOC character.Apparently,Plec had planned her death in s5 and then backtracked.
The most impossible and unexpected one would be Caroline Forbes. As much as we want to believe the writers loved her,I think we all deep down know how much they actually loved baiting the various "shipper" fandoms, who lived vicariously through her, with all the Caroline-relationships.So her death wouldn't have been beneficial.Although, her death would, certainly, have been shocking. Not to mention, how much TVD/television writers alike loved/love killing key female characters left, right and centre either for manpain or to prop up other relationships.
I think Tyler would have been killed off because he was the most “expendable” character on the show.
The male characters outnumbered the female characters and I think the writers wanted some balance thus protecting Caroline and Bonnie.
Damon and Stefan had plot armor until the finale
JP stated many times that Matt was vital to the show because he was a human (they didn’t want just supernatural characters on the show).
Jeremy and Ric’s deaths were already explored. Killing them again wouldn't be shocking or push the narrative forward in any meaningful way.
Tyler was killed off in episode 8x03. If the writers were willing to kill Tyler off in the story they wrote, then the writers wouldn’t hesitate to kill him off in their possible alternative storylines.
As you said, killing Caroline would be an impossible and unexpected choice because she was so beloved and central to so many storylines (i.e. Caroline was the center of the most love triangles on the show).  I don’t think they’d have the guts to do it. Think about killing Caroline? Sure. Doing so? No way. Caroline was the glue between TVD, TO, and Legacies. Elena may have been TVD’s protagonist, but Caroline is the keystone holding everything together.

Random Thoughts on HTTYD RttE S6 (Ep1-7)
Ep1 - And we start with our favorite toxic family
Was I the only one that thought Krogan and Viggo were gonna kiss for a second there?
Like, Hiccup has so many unprotected friends, I think it'd be quite easy to just, snatch one and trade all his lenses for that person (or dragon). He would do it
Dragon Eye Two is a lazy name, the twins are right
And Astrid is gone again? She's not with the Dagur party, nor the Hiccup party
Twins to the rescue!!
Ruffnut is genuinely so intelligent, what the heck. Both of the twins are, but in different ways. Ruff is more logical, really good at reading people and situations, while Tuff has an insurmountable supply of inventive and ingenuious creativity
I'm with Fishlegs - good for you Dagur
And of course Snotlout would know how a bully works
And of course the twins would suspect each other
Well, that was a fast reveal
Huh. Wow. Nice thinking Hiccup. It's good to know that these little moments did happen, and were thought out - Johann being evil wasn't just thrown in here at random
Aw, really nice of and for Dagur
Astrid's back!
Sooo, this season is gonna be a hunt for all lenses? Let's see
Ep2 - I can understand where Tuff is coming from - he fooled every single person he met. That's some goals
Stoick is so freaking tall compared to Snotlout, geez
You know, random thinking here, but Gobber has been something akin to a second parent to Hiccup all these years right? Imagine having to witness and sometimes be a part of an argument between Hiccup and Stoick? Poor man
Seems like "not listening" and Stoick go hand in hand very very often
"I have no idea what those two are babbling about." To be fair, I think there's a good chance they don't know either
Hiccup and his daddy issues - a never-ending quest for fatherly attention
They got taken over way too easily but okay I'll bite
"Isn't that what Snotlout is for?" Okay, I gotta know now, what is it with dads and Snotlout bashing?
That was a nice little escape scene, I liked it a lot. Tuff distractting the guards while the others cut their ropes was done super smoothly, it was really satisfying
Father&Son bonding time with dragons and extra fire!
Oh yeah and Berk was saved too, that was a thing
I don't want them to leave the Edge :'(
Ep3 - Oh, Wing Ladies that's nice - I had almosy forgotten about you already
Alsooo, cousins episode? Or partially cousins episode anyway. That makes me happy
"Passed over for the skinny blond? Been there." Are we not gonna comment on this?
I'm gonna make yet another prediction, and say that by the time the show ends, Dagur and Mala are either besties or dating
"This, is common ground." I swear, Fishlegs is so competent I love him
Snotlout's blond argument becomes even funnier (to me at least) since every single Dragon rider that isn't him or Hiccup is blond. So Hiccup signing literally anyone else in the group for a task that Snotlout wants is Hiccup "choosing the blond over him"
This might be the actual full joke and I'm here explaining it like I'm super smart, when I'm just painfully oblivious
Also, why did Hiccup want Snotlout to follow Minden lady anyway?
Snotlout showing his character development and Hookfang looking absolutely done with his rider
More showness of character development from Snotlout, how nice. Also, him and Minden are a cute duo
Hiccup kidnapping no. 347 and counting
Nouuu, Hookfang!
Well, damn. That took a turn. I did not expect her to kiss him full on the lips
Yeah it's the dating option. Dagur and Mala are gonna date
Kay, so the lenses are hidden in Wing Maiden Island, check
Guess Snotlout won't be cast aside over the blond anymore - he's just gonna have to fight her for it.
Not sure if that's an improvement actually
Ep4 - I can't see how something like that could doom Fishlegs now, especially since until literally a couple of years ago all their parents killed dragons on the daily, which isn't a whole lot better. Heck, until a couple years ago, they wanted to kill dragons! One would imagine you'd have made peace with all that
But family is family, and that always ends up weighting more
Getting the twins is literally your worst option ever - even Snotlout would've been better
After last episode's blond thing, I'm starting to pay more attention to hair colors, and is it weird that to me it's weird that all these kids are blond? And the two with uncovered eyes also have the same green eye color
Pfff, poor Toothless
Astrid is a good friend. Also, I keep pointing it out, but I really like seeing these two together, they're fun
Again, why did Hookfang and Barf&Belch run away, but Toohtless stay? I don't get this dragon
I really wish Dreamworks had explored on the Night Furies
To be fair, kids are a very different matter from Viggo Grimborn. If you wanted them to use the same method and have the same mentality as they had to fight Viggo, Hiccup my friend, I think you might be closer to evilness than you think
Woho! Down with that statue!
Of course! That's why they're all blond and green eyed, they're Fishlegs' family, duh
Ep4 - Oh Gruffnut's back? Wasn't expecting it but sure
Meatlug's decorations were perfect, the twins just don't appreciate fine art
I find it really cute that Snotlout was just napping on Hookfang's snout
So you're telling me Snotlout had to go against a bear at nine months old? My hate for Spitelout keeps skyrocketing, would you look at that
Once again, the twins being sweet. Also, they're the first pair of twins in the family? Huh
Of course he managed to manipulate them into doing the trials anyway - but they're doing them for each other, that is really really sweet
Hiccup is a constantly-tired older brother to his teammates and I'm here for it
Also, random findings I just made. Ruff and Tuff have different eye colors - Tuff's are a dark grey/black and Ruff's a light blue. And despite being blond, they both have dark haired eyebrows
Ruffnut Haddock, Tuffnut Haddock - they both immediately assumed Hiccup would adopt the other into their family
Barf&Belch pacing and Toothless calming them down was everything. Why don't we get more moments between the dragons?
The hand holding while they exploded?? The familial fluff of that!
Damn, they were reallly lazy with the Thorston family members
Ahhhh, of course it's a freaking lens!
Ep6 - Married?? Wow. I assumed they'd start dating in the last episode!
Fishlegs finally has a marriage to gush over
I can completely understand everyone's ewwness at the situation
Hiccstrid episode? This should be interesting
Omg, poor girl. Toothless you're the only hope for these two, please help them out
Was Dagur supposed to look like he was asking for Hiccup's hand instead. Because out of context, it really looks like it
And, things are heating up nowww
This romantic drama is a lot of fun, ngl
"Not too late to join Team Jorgenson." Snotlout, sweetie, with all due respect, please shut the fuck up now
Nouuuuu, girl don't give that back! That's the kind of issue you talk through, as a couple, not give up on the first issue!
I hope Mala is attacking the dummy just to screw with the twins
Barf&Belch licking the twins' faces was sho cute
Well, that was a super fast recovery, and I hope we actually get a serious discussion about this later, because romantic drama is what I came for this episode
Fiiiiiine, I'll admit it, these two are adorable as hell and I really wanna watch a compilation of their sweetest moments together or something like that. The ending was the cutest
Ep 7 - Wingmaidens, yayy. Are we gonna see Minden again? I liked her voice a lot
The way Hiccup waved his finger at Snotlout when getting him away from Atali - he is the figure of a desperate older brother, I'm telling you
Is this gonna be a Ruffnut appreciation episode? Oh, I am so here for it
That. Did not. Just happen.
Did Tuff just put his mastigated food on Ruff's mouth...?
I'm not sure I'll ever recover from that
Atali gave some nice pep talk
I think I've barely ever seen Hiccup with Ruff, this is cool!
Someone please hug this girl asap or I will!!!
And of course, the usual drill with Krogan - he's really boring now honestly
That ending was sweet af
We're getting some really emotional, fluffy endings this season aren't we?
I am so so close to finishing these series.... I don't wanna see the end :')

Do you know anything about the number of episodes for the resident season 6, it seems they only ordered 13 maybe with the option to order more which is so weird if they wanted have ordered more they would've done it from the start I'm so annoyed I just read a tvline interview and it seems Conrad is going with cade but it won't stick and the person he ends up with isn't the one he chooses at first which ??? How are you gonna do all that in 13 eps. I can already see what's going to happen they're gonna waste time giving us cade and Conrad and once they give us a hint of Billie the show is going to get cancelled and we'll get nothing like we don't have time for this bullshit this is s6 not S2 they should've just had him choose billie from the start do we'd get them for 13 episodes instead of one and then it's gone. It reminds of macriley, Macgyver kept fucking giving us a relationship no one wanted and when they were starting to give us THE ship the show was killed, we all love a slow burn but these writers never learn
I don't. I know there were only 13 the year before because of COVID and maybe they feel like they can tell enough story with that many. If they do the 'see-as-we-go' deal they may order more if the series is doing well and commit to more episodes for renewal. It just depends.
I just had an ask that basically gave that premise. I HATE like HATE that option. Cade has walls up, for good reason, and I'm glad Conrad and Devon and the gang were able to make her feel like family but she doesn't even seem interested in him and he is recreating his dead wife. Like I don't want that just to be the reason why she doesn't want him because feelings change and she may feel ready later and that feels like a triangle no one asked for. If Billie and him had spent the last season with equal time...maybe this story could've been pulled off but I just don't see enough of what's there or could be there. They haven't had enough scenes. Also is there ever going to be discussion about what it takes to help run the hospital for Billie or are we sidelining that for this.
But you're right, it's a tale we ALL could write. I wasn't apart of the MacGuyver fandom but this happens CONSTANTLY! I'm in the middle of it on another show and ready to get hurt again on my newest obsession. Pitch, Sleepy Hollow, Recovery Road, Chicago Med, The Good Doctor, New Amsterdam, Twisted, Person Of Interest...etc. It doesn't matter it just seems to repeat. Either via cancellation, talent leaving, or a mixture of both, this is a very exhausting pattern to witness on television regardless of supported ship.

Paragraph sample.
Malachai was intrigued by the big easy. As far as he could tell it was nothing like Portland or Mystic Falls. Magic seeped from the earth and there was a shop on nearly every corner. He wandered into quite a few, but none held quite the legitimate stockpile of goodies like the Magic Box. & the owner, a petite little blonde thing, radiated something of a magical energy herself. One in which he never quite encountered before, what struck him as odd though is that she hardly seemed bothered by his mannerisms and as she hurriedly made her way into the back room to grab a restock of low inventory items, he briefly thought on how these damned emotions caused him to lose his touch. Minutes after that someone else made their way into the neat little shop, but he was almost too distracted to turnaround. That is, of course, until he heard her voice. & for a moment he stood there almost too stunned to speak. As if struck by some kind of a feeling he couldn't even quite accurately describe to turn around and face her, his heart racing as small beads of sweat pooled at his temples. ☆°•》"Bonnie," he breathed out her name, an inaudible whisper before he managed to muster up the courage to face her now. "Wolfsbane, huh," He mused weakly at first. "Regular fencing not doing its job? You decide to take matters into your own hands and put down that aggressive dog? I could help, y'know.. If you want me to." 《•°☆ 《☆°• 'If you want me to?' He thought. 'Dammit.' The swell of unidentifiable emotions now whirling inside him as he looked down at her, his cobalt blue eyes now bore into her emerald, green ones. Hoping she could see what he was struggling to feel. •°☆》

oliver said that by the end of the season buck will realize what he wants in a relationship and partner. unless the next two episodes are gonna be heavy bl episodes(i highly highly doubt it considering she's not in any of the PR's)when the past 2 episodes he's been essentially a husband and father to eddie and chris, then it's gotta mean eddie and chris make him realize what he wants, cause he wants them.
Hey Nonnie
I honestly don't know why we're still talking about Lucy as a potential love interest - there is literally nothing that has happened in the show post kiss to suggest that is where we're going with her - if anything they're using her to show just how much Eddie and Bucks relationship is not just friendly or work partners. Just Because we don't see Lucy in the promos doesn't mean she's not going to be there and I would always take interviews with a grain of salt - they can straight up lie in interviews or twist what they'r saying to make it seem like one thing because they don't want to reveal the important stuff. they're not going to come out and say that Buddie is happening - they're just going to let it play out on screen and use the interviews to obfuscate things - Buddie going canon is going to be big news - why would they spoil it? the other thing is that AK has stated in interviews that she gets to work with various members of the team - including with Bobby - it has never been explicitly stated that she was Bucks new partner and that she would only be working as a partner to Buck.
The contrast with the Buckley Diaz scenes and those with Buck and Lucy and Buck and Taylor are words away - they are shot in very different manners - from lighting to camera lenses and angles and actor blocking - they look and feel very different.
Also Just because Buck realises what he wants in a romantic relationship and partner it doesn't follow that he's going to end the season in one - him realising what he wants can just mean him choosing to be alone and end things with Taylor because he realises that its not serving him or his mental health well. It also doesn't follow that Buck gaining this understanding means he's suddenly going to jump into a relationship with Eddie - Even if Buck realises that Eddie and Chris are his family and that Eddie is his soulmate and the love of his life, it doesn't necessarily mean that Eddie is ready to take that next step, or indeed that Buck is. We don't know what else is going to come out of the next 4 episodes nor do we know what the plans are for S6.
I recommend just sitting back and enjoying the ride because although 5a wasn't the best and things felt off (including some poor choices about the use of certain characters) the writers have clearly been building towards something and in many ways 5a unsettling the audience has made Eddies breakdown, Maddie's PPD and the fallout from both things even more compelling. I choose to trust in the writers and all the creative teams who put the show together - they do a wonderful job and leave lots of breadcrumbs and easter eggs for us to spot and enjoy - its what makes watching the show so much fun!

i just wanted to take a brief moment to write thoughts about the "we are the law/i am the law" parallel between faith in 'consequences' and buffy in 'selfless'. i do really like the parallel but i also think that a lot of people misinterpret it as meaning the same thing, or say that buffy is being a hypocrite for echoing a sentiment that she previously denied, which i disagree with. buffy and faith are saying these lines in entirely different situations and for entirely different purposes.
when faith tells buffy "we are the law", she is feeling guilty about killing the deputy mayor but is covering it up by claiming that she is not responsible for the action. when faith makes this statement she is saying that because her and buffy are slayers, they are more important than other people and are therefore allowed to do what they want to achieve their world-saving goals, even if it sometimes leads to innocent people getting hurt. they are not bound by the law and therefore don't need to be held responsible for people they accidentally hurt, especially if in the long run they still succeed in helping people.
when buffy says "i am the law" in 'selfless', it is after she has made the decision to kill anya because anya has chosen to become a vengeance demon and has gone back to killing people, and buffy is the only one who can stop her. this is a decision buffy has had to make many times before, and usually (with the notable exception of 'the gift', where she sacrifices her own life instead of having to kill dawn) she decides to kill one person to save many more. she has to do it when she kills angel, she has done it throughout the years in smaller situations to save people, and even recently in the s6 finale, i believe that if willow had continued to pose a genuine threat to the world and buffy had no choice, she would have killed willow to save everyone else. in most of these situations, buffy is the only one powerful enough to make this call because she is the slayer, and therefore has knowledge and strength and skill that others don't. when she says that she is the law, it means that there are decisions that human law systems aren't capable of making because they don't have the power. buffy does have the power, so because she is more powerful than the law, she is left to make these life or death decisions herself, since nobody else can. in this way, buffy is the law because she is the one constantly forced to choose who gets to live and who gets to die.
i think faith's initial sentiment did have some truth to it, which buffy has likely recognized by s7. faith and buffy are more powerful than most people, and often they themselves cannot be judged by human rules but have to instead make up their own rules. but this obviously doesn't mean that they can just harm whoever they want and feel no guilt about it, and i think that it what is distressing buffy so much and makes her reject faith in 'consequences' -- buffy wants to be someone who always takes responsibility for what she does, and to her faith is rejecting responsibility when she makes this statement.
(this sort of also ties in with 'dead things' when buffy tries to turn herself in to the police and spike stops her, saying that she doesn't deserve this. buffy is different from most people and if she accidentally killed someone it definitely wouldn't be judged fairly by human law systems because buffy is far beyond normal humans and their rules. this is also true of faith, and i don't think faith should be subjected to our extremely flawed human law systems for accidentally killing one guy. but that wasn't really what faith was saying in 'consequences'. she was saying that because they were slayers, they were allowed to ignore all responsibility -- not just legal responsibility but moral responsibility. that's what made buffy reject her statement.)
basically, faith and buffy have similar sentiments in mind -- they are more powerful than the humans who make laws, meaning they cannot always be bound by those laws and sometimes they have to create and enforce their own laws because they are the only ones capable of doing what they do -- but the contexts are entirely different and the two characters are not making the same argument. faith is scared and is trying to reject responsibility for her actions. buffy is taking full responsibility for her decisions, regardless of how much pain consistently being put in this position causes her.

With the exception of a few tidbits, I hated s6. Agree with you on the sexism crap given to Raven, Echo & Emori. IMHO they trashed so many arcs and I don't get it either. The back end of s5 wasn't my favorite but it didn't RUIN characters that have had years of development like s6 did. Why would they erase 6 years of growth to take them back to dumb, immature s1 dynamics? Gross. Anyway I'm not optimistic about s7 but maybe there's nowhere to go but UP? LOL
I agree. Whether you personally liked what they decided to write for S5 or not, it followed on quite nicely from season four, and most, if not everything, can be made sense of by the six year time jump. The space between season five and six was…a few days? There’s really no excuse. So i was forced to make my own. “Warning: Cryo for long periods may cause brain damage.”
—Throwing my answer under here because i worry it’s written ugly ahaha
I wasn’t a huge fan of season five myself, but i agree that in the second half of the season, and the final couple of episodes in particular, things were a bit unhinged. And, i mean, they are stuck with Clarke as their protagonist so things that I thought were weird were gonna have to happen, like Clarke being the one to kill the bad guy and pull the lever, then being invited to the ‘End Of The World’ meeting, then being woken by Monty. And sometimes it’s just a plot thing. Not everything lines up, but i can deal with it. It’s just how it is.
Clarke being invited to the ‘End Of The World’ club meeting to decide the fate of humanity despite her actions of the rest of the season, but not an actual leader like Diyoza, or even Octavia, i thought was odd. I binged season five, so everything was very fresh in my mind and i was just like
Tumblr media
And same with Monty waking her in the end. But it wasn’t devastating, because i could make it make sense in-universe and i didn’t have to ignore anything or change anything in my head for it to make sense.*
The double standard between Clarke and Octavia was something that actually bugged me quite a bit from season five and six. But the difference between them is, that i got the feeling that the characters were being hypocritical, judgemental, maybe even short-sighted during season five (and, again, this can be made sense of by the time jump, with both Clarke and Bellamy spending those years in physical peace, emotionally healing, buffered from violence- though they both went opposite ways with/developed differently from it, but that would be digressing lol- while Octavia didn’t have that at all), while in season six, i got the impression it was the writing that was being hypocritical, biased, and unfamiliar with itself. That make sense? Trying not to waffle too much.
In season five, Clarke is directly reminded that she’s no different from Octavia. She has a moment of clarity, and she chooses the right path. She reacts to it. But in season six? They just dug in their heels and decided Octavia was bad and unforgivable and a villain that needs to be banished, but Clarke was good and innocent and a victim that needs to be saved. Bellamy forgave one immediately, but the other was forced on a season long adventure to become the woman he wanted her to be. Funny how that works.
*Clarke being invited to the final meeting, then awoken by Monty make sense if you just assume those last two things happened because the group knew she wasn’t a threat to them any longer if they 1) made her feel like part of the group, 2) made her feel like she was in the position to speak for them, and 3) then put a message of peace and ‘doing better’ into her head for good measure. She’s not against them if she’s with them.
Season six, though, betrays all of it, and i’m not even sure i could use that explanation anymore. Now, those things just take me out of the story because I have no way, as a viewer, of making sense of those events without specifically thinking about the writing behind it all. I should be able to understand a writer’s intent without needing him to explain it in a tweet. Anything I need to know, and how i need to know it, should be on screen.
I like that attitude. It can only get better.

I hate seeing things like this “Someone on reddit (a huge bellarke fan) has had infos on s6 regarding bellarke. She said it was someone she trusts and that unfortunately the person made it clear that bellarke wasn't happening this season, if not ever. She said she completely lost hope... so yeah, low your expectations” I know better than to believe fleakers on reddit or twitter from GOT but it still gets you down knowing you can’t completely disregard it until the season airs
Anonymous said:A reliable moderator on Reddit said she has an insider and so far Bellarke isn’t in Jason’s plans and she was told Bellarke isn’t happening in s6 if not ‘ever’. I really know i shouldn’t believe in things like this, that don’t have open source or sumn but I feel so down. I still have hope I can’t accept that they put all those scenes or dialogues for nothing
Okay. So that’s two on the same topic. So this is going around again…. Three different asks now. And one nagging ask declaring i won’t answer their first. And it’s all bugging me.
*sigh* fine.
honestly i wish y’all just wouldn’t read it. but i should get it out. and you should know why I don’t buy those rumors and understand that I have reasons, I did research when they first came out. I went back to the text. And I have been watching the source of that rumor for literal YEARS now, so I’ve made some analysis on the way she works. I think we all forget that this is the internet, and we know what you said last year, how many times your theories were wrong, and who you blamed when they turned out to be wrong. None of this I say here is being said lightly and I wish I didn’t have to say it, but I think more harm has come from letting these rumors stand without challenging them. So. I guess I should do it, even though I don’t want to. The other option is to just wash my hands of fandom all together. I guess I’m too stubborn. fine. This is going to be a mess because I wrote it all day long, trying to get it out, planning on deleting it, getting new asks, having conversations with people, taking things out, adding others. And I’m just gonna post it and let it go without editing anymore.
I am not delusional. I am not naive. I am not a blind bellarke shipper. I am JUST trying to stick to the text and watch the show. I AM critical, but that does not mean I am negative. I am looking to UNDERSTAND the show on screen. And when rumors or writer commentary doesn’t fit with what I see in the show, I put them aside and do not take them as confirmation of anything.
I have been sitting on this answer all day trying to figure out how to answer it, because it gets pretty negative about… well… about one particular person and I am trying to keep out of drama and mind my own business and stick to the text and my corner of fandom. But I’m so tired of this all the time.
I just went to reddit to find out why it’s coming back and who this redditor is and what they said. So I couldn’t find it in the 100 reddit, but it was in bellarke reddit. I don’t know know WHO that moderator is, although it might be someone I know, who I know listens to the person who started the original rumor, and even if it isn’t him, it’s still pretty clear to me that’s where this new wave of negativity is coming from.
I have been avoiding speaking out on this particular rumor because I did my research when it first showed up and tracked it back to a person I had a meta argument with YEARS ago. And because of that, I’ve been careful to not say too much about it because it ends up sounding like I have a grudge. But it’s too much now. It isn’t fair that this stuff goes around because someone decides they are all knowing and understand everything better than everyone else and they think it’s a good idea to spread bad feelings as “confirmation.”
First of all, I don’t do gossip. I do canon. I analyze canon and stories and film and visuals and symbolism. Whatever someone says outside of canon, I consider it and see how it reflects upon canon. The more official it is, the more I take it seriously. Someone having an unnamed source with no written confirmation of what they said? And then DECLARING their interpretation of undocumented source material to be ACTUAL CANON CONFIRMATION? No. That’s called gossip and rumor and innuendo and interpretation and speculation. NONE OF THAT IS CANON CONFIRMATION.
I am at about third hand here, one person told me what she said about what the inside source said, so I cannot confirm anything I say as truth. But I want to explain the stuff I heard, and why I have decided that, far from confirmation against Bellarke, it actually sounds to me like confirmation FOR bellarke. It’s about interpretation, confirmation bias, point of view, rumors, fears, and ego.
As far as I can tell, someone who is an insider, who is in the know about the writers room said something along the lines of,
“The writer’s room used to argue all the time about whether or not to write romantic bellarke, and now they don’t argue about it anymore.”
The person to whom this was told interpreted that to mean that it was CONFIRMED that Bellarke was dead and JR was NOT GOING TO DO BELLARKE AT ALL. RIP.
Even if the source who said this is a good, honest source, that’s not what was said. At all. That was an INTERPRETATION of the statement, which seems to be strongly influenced by prior assumptions. The statement is saying they decided. That means it could go EITHER one way or the other. EITHER they’re giving up on Bellarke OR they’re committing to it so no arguments needed.
And I don’t understand that interpretation. Because it means that this source of gossip believes that season 5 had absolutely no romance in it. That there was nothing romantic about bellarke to argue about NOT doing.
But in season 5 we had 2199 calls to Bellamy, She must be important to you/She is. Sexy hug. The hostage taker and his girlfriend. Clarke jealous of B/E kissing. TWICE. Another traitor who you love. I always cared about bellamy. Love is not a weakness. Don’t make the same mistake I made when I betrayed you.  Go save him. Do you know how much she cares about you? She called you every day. Bellamy inviting her to the bridge and then giving her the romantic “look back” before he leaves. Waking up ONLY Bellarke. Marper charging them with care of their child (that’s not romance that’s MARRIAGE) and facing the new world in each other’s arms, TOGETHER.
I mean, maybe one of those things could be taken out of context and read as romantic when it’s not intended to be, but all of them, one after another? on and on? No. That’s evidence that supports a romantic storyline.
If they CHOSE to not do romantic Bellarke, then there would be NO explicitly romantic moments, Clarke would NOT be compared to Echo in Bellamy’s feelings. They would NOT have used the daily letter trope. The camera would not have closed in on his hand by so much skin and his lips brushing her shoulder. Clarke would NOT have been jealous– a shot that CLOSELY echoed when she saw finn and raven kissing, an explicitly romantic/jealous parallel to a canon love triangle.
And if they had changed their minds about romantic bellarke, they would have wrapped up the 2199 calls as NOT romantic at that fireside. They would have had Bellamy tell Clarke he poisoned Octavia to save Clarke’s life, and it was no big deal. They would have had Clarke tell Echo that Bellamy was her best friend, like a brother to her. But instead, they leave all these things unsaid, unspoken, still to be discovered. There are ACTIVELY open romantic Bellarke plots, especially because Bellamy HAS to either choose Echo and NOT Clarke, or he has to break up with Echo and see what can happen with Clarke, because he loves them both, as stated by Octavia. Or he could keep them both like Finn did. WHICH takes us back to romantic storyline anyway. Not endgame, but romance definitely. Which, EVEN if they have decided to go with endgame B/E STILL makes Bellarke part of a romance. Bellarke was a canon romance in season 5. Love triangle. C/B/E.
The writers CHOSE to put that stuff in there. They CHOSE to announce Bellamy’s love for Clarke as a tipping point for a major MAJOR plot and character moment. If they were clear about NOT putting romance in, they wouldn’t have done that. They would certainly not leave the storylines OPEN and in need of resolution. LIke with Supergirl, where Kara and James kissed and then did a 180 and were like, “nah let’s just be friends, HEy do you think that bland white creep is cute?” They tanked karolsen for a new ship. THIS is not happening on The 100. They did not tank Bellarke. They brought it in tighter and made it more immediate and brought other people into the the story and are forcing the need to CONFRONT the feelings they have for each other, because Bellamy is not going to be able to pretend he doesn’t feel that, when his girlfriend is there, and he SHOULDN’T be feeling it at all.
If they were in the middle and TEASING bellarke and not intending to make it GO romantic, or delaying it and intending to make it go there, they would still be arguing about it being too much or not enough or whatever.
However, if they put all that in there WITHOUT arguing, that means the plan, for everyone, is to do romantic Bellarke. It means they’ve already started.
They know how to do platonic. Raven and Bellamy are platonic. When THEY stood at that window looking into the future of a planet, they DID NOT TOUCH. Platonic. When Bellamy refused to leave Raven behind, it was the memory of CLARKE that made it painful, and Raven jollied him out of it by calling him names and lying to him. NOT romantic. If they had decided to NOT do Bellarke and NOT tease romance or foreshadow it, they know how not to make it romance. Which includes NOT comparing your love for her to your canon girlfriend.
NOW TWO people have declared the source to be a good source. And this has been the problem with this rumor, because this person has a lot of authority within fandom, has been involved with production, has a broad audience and does indeed talk to people. SO she is seen as an authority that cannot be questioned.
There is no authority that cannot be questioned about their opinion.
And I have had significant interaction with this person that calls into question her interpretations, her judgment, and her authority. I once called her a hypocrite because she said I could not possibly know authorial intent, because SHE knew authorial intent and I was wrong. Which, as a teacher, just pisses me the hell off, because she’s basically saying that only certain people are able to understand story, people with authority like hers. She was gatekeeping my interpretation. And, like, my JOB was to teach kids how to think for themselves and come up with interpretations. And that’s what I try to do here. Come up with my interpretations, show you how i got there, encourage you to come up with your own and back them up. I mean if you agree with me, great, but it’s fiction. We all get to interpret things. The better our analysis, the better we can defend it. To just flat out say that she was the authority and SHE knows and can tell everyone what to think? No.
So I guess that’s why I’m going all in on this. I wrote this this morning when I was ranting, but not sure I’d post the vague blog because I try not to be negative. But then I got the second ask so it’s all coming around again, and I already avoided speaking out about it the first time. And that didn’t make it go away. She’s still acting as an authority who knows everything and all she has to do is say it is confirmed, and other people take it as truth because she said it. It’s not like it will cause a rift in fandom. The fandom is in pieces anyway, and anyone who believes her thinks I’m delusional and an embarrassment, according to the anons I get, But I’m going to put this under the cut in the hopes that most people are too lazy to click more. But whatev, she’s not my friend, she doesn’t respect me I don’t respect her. And this whole gossip horror was the nail in my fandom coffin when it first came up a few months ago. I’m not naming names but if you know what’s happening or what happened the first time, you know the story.
I hope this is too long and y’all won’t read it. This is why I have been sitting on this post all day, but I keep getting asks and I’m getting so angry.
I know who said that, and i never trust her interpretations, because she spent season 3 telling us all, definitively, that Lxa was the hero now, CLarke was the Love Interest, and CL was endgame because it was *pretty,* and we had no right to think CL was dark. First of all, pretty does not equal good, and hasn’t been assumed so for like idk a hundred years? But worse, that I had NO RIGHT, to look at it any other way but a beautiful love story. (incidentally silencing abuse victims.) That we COULD NOT understand authorial intent, did not have the ability to do so, but she did, and we were wrong. And not allowed to say anything else.
When she doesn’t understand something in the show, she doesn’t bother trying to understand the story that JR is telling, she just says that he’s a bad writer. When she DOES understand something in the story, she says the writers are so bad that they didn’t do it on purpose, and it’s only because she’s so smart and clever that she figured out their underlying psychological misogyny that they didn’t know they were writing into the story. That’s the Finn as “Nice Guy” storyline.
When the writers actually TELL her that they LITERALLY meant what she saw and they are surprised the fandom missed it, she again goes back to blaming the writers for not being clear enough. When she was TOLD that the CL story in polis was a dark story of Clarke’s psychology and she MISSED it, she AGAIN blamed the writers for not being clear and then. And THEN. Get this. Blamed the fandom for never looking critically at the CL story in POLIS, For only seeing it as pretty, unless they were screaming ABUSE.  Remember when I told you she told me I didn’t have a right to my interpretation and she was silencing abuse victims? So. Yeah. She’s referring to me, and those of us who were talking about that seriously, as abuse survivors or psychology students.
Anonymous said:She’s not the only one that claimed Bellarke is never happening. [XX] had some insider too as i remember and tweeted something along those lines of the moderator from Reddit publicly. {XX] is reliable enough and she said something like they aren’t planning canon but I don’t wanna put pressure on her I only saw her tweet she is not a part of fandom drama she’s a part of presskru.
Yeah. I’m not saying her name. That’s her. I’ve spent all morning trying to write my thoughts on this, and on what I’ve seen her do in this fandom for three years. And I found that reddit thread and I’m pretty sure that the mod’s “reliable source” is that woman who is NOT a reliable source. She’s a biased source who does not check her theories against the canon because she’s more interested in hearing herself talk and being right than in actually understanding the story.
Being part of presskru does not mean she is right. The press writing about this show has OFTEN been wrong. DO you remember season 3 at ALL? Some of those people were still writing reviews in season 5 where Clarke and Bellamy did not exist almost. They were trying to rewrite the show as Octavia-Raven-Diyoza centered. She was part of the completely inaccurate interpretations of season 3. Just because someone tells you they are an authority that does not mean you should take what they say without questioning them. QUESTION EVERYTHING.
She is not reliable. She has had consistently bad speculation and has interpreted this show ABSOLUTELY incorrectly MANY times. And when she’s wrong, she says the problem is with the story and the writers, not her meta. She refuses to question her own interpretations or even, really, to check it to the canon show. She believes Bellarke is dead so when someone said something, she IMMEDIATELY decided she had to tell EVERYONE that Bellarke was confirmed dead. This whole rumor comes from her.  From her unreliable interpretations and confirmation bias.
Please, don’t take my word for it. Go back over her meta and her speculation. See what she says when the writers tell her to her face that she was wrong, and how she is friends with them until she is facing fandom and then she calls them all bad writers and the show a bad show and the story making no sense. When really, she the show just WENT OVER HER HEAD AND SHE MISSED IT. Every time she calls a writer a bad writer, you can just assume that she did some lazy analysis, jumped to conclusions, and when the story didn’t do what she thought it should, decided the fault was with the writers, the story, the characters, or, well hell, why not just blame me. I did after all say CL was abusive. And that’s why she didn’t bother looking into the symbolism of Clarke’s character development in polis.
Someone told her something, when she knows the whole cast and crew are on lockdown, and she ran to twitter and started telling everyone that she had insider information and she knew the truth. That is not reliable. That is HIGHLY suspect and arrogant and lacks any sort of honor. She needed to be the one who had insider knowledge, so she decided to hurt a whole fandom. She HURT people, because she HAD be the one to know the truth. She was NOT concerned with anyone else and did NOT allow them to be happy shipping their ship.
As far as I can tell, her interpretation of what someone told her is par for the course for her, had nothing to do with the canon, and everything to do with fandom drama, ego, confirmation bias, and the desire to be the authority and have everyone think she’s the shit.
I do not think she’s the shit. Sorry. I think she is an irresponsible writer claiming authority and using it to control those around her. Worse, she’s a teacher. And as a writer and a teacher, that makes me ANGRY. She can’t bully me into following her, or convince me that she’s smarter than me and make me hang on her every word, and so she blocked me a long time ago. But I’ve tried to help people understand the story and come up with their own interpretations and she’s actively gone out of her way to claim her authority to kill a whole ship and fandom. Am I biased? YOU BET. But that bias means I pay very close attention to what she says. And what she says, is suspect.
Please don’t send me any more asks about gossip, rumors or drama. And definitely don’t send me any asks about her.
I would prefer to talk about CANON, literature, film, science fiction, character development, symbolism, storytelling, and Bellarke.

VLD Analysis: Keith in The Feud
I know this scene has been analysed to death, but I just wanted to write a summary of my thoughts on it.
As well as talking about Keith in S7E4, I'm also going to analyse his character in general in season 7 (in relation to klance). And if you're wondering, yes I do think klance is endgame.
Lance's reason for choosing Keith was very obviously sweet and romantic, so there's no need to do any analysing there. In fact, Lance's character is generally easy to read. Keith, however, is always more tricky to understand due to the fact that he communicates through actions and struggles with social cues. We even saw this in his scene with Hunk; although he ended up delivering an excellent pep talk, at the beginning of the scene he folded his arms, had a grumpy expression and said he's not good with talking to people.
So about this scene in The Feud (the scene where he chooses Lance to escape)- a key thing which I haven't seen anyone mention is that he's looking at Bob when he delivers his answer.
Every other character, when explaining their choice, looks directly ahead, looks at the person they chose, or a combination of both. Keith is the only character to look Bob in the eyes when giving his answers.
This is important because if Keith was looking at LANCE with that irritated/grumpy expression, it would come off as mean, as if he was annoyed at Lance. But because he looks at Bob, it makes me think he was more annoyed that he was being forced to justify his choice- part of his annoyance, if not all of it, is directed at Bob. This is supported by his line at the end of episode about Bob- 'the guy was kind of a jerk though, right?'. Makes sense he'd look like this at a guy he thinks is a jerk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another reason why Keith looking at Bob is important is that it shows he felt embarrassed and uncomfortable enough to avoid eye contact with Lance. This ties in with another way his body language differs from everyone else's; every other character stands with their arms by their sides, showing they're relaxed (Lance slumps over the podium, but his body language is still relaxed and open). Keith stands upright with his arms folded across his chest, creating a barrier, and not looking at the person he's talking about. This SCREAMS insecurity, embarrassment and discomfort, not anger or annoyance.
I do think Keith was annoyed by how Lance got so many answers wrong, which explains the grumpy expression (old married couple, anyone?). But his reason for picking Lance was a lie, not because he was annoyed. It's canon that Keith finds Lance endearing. Just look at his face here:
Tumblr media
He made this face when Lance said 'I'm not a goofball, I'm like the cool, ninja sharpshooter' to which Keith responded with 'are you joking?'. This whole exchange including the facial expression shows that Keith DOES think Lance is a goofball, but he's fond of him for it.
I won't lie, I do think part of the reason they had Keith answer that way in The Feud was because if he said something nice about Lance, it would be far too obvious klance is endgame. So instead, they played into Keith's character flaws and insecurities. They're dragging out this miscommunciation and angst in their relationship for as long as possible.
Now let's talk about Keith in season 7 as a whole. I find the klance dynamic in this season very interesting.
First of all, Keith is still pining. A lot of people think pining Keith is gone, but he isn't. Season 7 was just action packed, and Keith is able to put his feelings aside to concentrate on the mission- similar to how Lance and Keith used to put their rivalry aside when they had to work together.
Keith is pining because he chose Lance and lied about his answer, formed the wings of Voltron with Lance, didn't snap at Lance when when he went space mad and yelled for Lance twice when Red didn't respond to him.
The reason their relationship felt tense is because Keith is trying to reject Lance before Lance can reject him.
We've all agreed that Keith got a crush on Lance after the bonding moment and fell deeper for him around season 3, although it's hard to tell when those feelings became love.
Keith is fully aware of Lance's feelings for Allura. A lot of people forget that in the bedroom scene, Lance literally told Keith he doesn't want to take Blue away from her- that would definitely have assured Keith that Lance has feelings for her, strong feelings. Also, Keith saw Lance and Allura standing together when he called the castle in season 6 (it's possible he also saw their hug, or at least saw them pulling apart). It's been suggested that the animators had Keith interrupt the hug to foreshadow Lance moving on to him, but in hindsight I think it was so Keith would see that they were in the middle of an intimate moment and become jealous.
Also, Keith is more insecure than people give him credit for. It's evident in his scene with Hunk that he doesn't think he's good at talking with people, and he IS socially awkward. Now think about Lance. Lance is outgoing, sociable and great at connecting with people. If you were in Keith's shoes, you wouldn't think you have a chance with Lance. Not in a million years.
Keith has technically been rejected by Lance twice. First, when Lance pretended to forget the bonding moment, making Keith think the moment wasn't important to Lance. Second, when Keith said 'must really be bothering you if you're coming to talk to me', to which Lance replied 'you're the leader now, right?'. This one is more subtle, but Lance essentially just told Keith 'no, we don't have a connection. I'm just coming to you because you're the leader and it's your job'.
Again, miscommunication.
Basically, in season 7 it's clear that Keith is trying to distance himself from Lance emotionally. He has his walls up. Ultimately, in season 8, it won't work and he'll be forced to confess or something because he loves Lance too much. (Pride and Prejudice, anyone?)
In S1-S3, Keith was very open (well, as open as Keith gets) about his affection for Lance whereas Lance hid his affection for Keith because he didn't understand it. In S6-S7, Lance is being open about his affection because after the S5/S6 love triangle and being seperated from Keith, he has a better understanding of what it is to like someone. Keith is now hiding his affection to protect himself from hurt.
As things stand in season 7, it's hard to imagine Keith and Lance as a canon couple. But that's the whole point. For an endgame couple to be successful, there has to have been rough patches in their relationship, there has to have been miscommunication and arguments.
If (hopefully when) Keith and Lance get together in the finale, it will be incredibly satisfying. Why? Because we've seen them argue with each other, hurt each other's feelings, be seperated from each other, see each other at their worst points and have near death experiences. And after all that, if they choose to be together, it will be powerful and will really assure the viewer that their relationship is strong and will last forever.

Hi, I'm the anon who's been sending you, mostly, the-Caroline-Forbes-asks over the past few weeks as I continued with TVD-rewatch.I'm finally done with the last season & this was the first time I actually sat through the series finale because back when it aired,I had ran off on a trip so I wouldn't have to watch or hear about it, at least not for a couple of weeks & I avoided ever watching anything from that episode after but yeah, I did eventually come to know what happened because that's impossible to avoid.Anyway, let me tell you,
I'm INFURIATED.There were so many things in that episode that had me screaming!
FIRST, The Sleeping Spell Mythology that turned Elena into a Disney Princess! That was all an eyewash! How did Bonnie even manage to break that damn spell when she was supposed to die if she tried? Was Kai lying or Plec and Williamson couldn't care less about the mythology as long as they could bait that awful triangle one last time? There was NO narrative explanation except that Bonnie finally figured "the witch thing"!!!! Is it supposed to be some kind of a joke!! I always had a bad feeling, going from s6, about Elena's magical coma.Plec had said network pushed them to drag the triangle but she went on to create 500 other triangles as the show went on.They could have killed Elena or sent her off with some human or made it clear she wasn't ending up with either of the Salvatore brothers when Nina left. But no! Instead she used that spell as a plot device to put a PAUSE on that stupid triangle!Elena was human and if she had woken up 60 years in the future after Bonnie's death she would have been an old lady.Delena's human endgame was already a joke!No wonder they turned Stefan into human!
SECOND .The Defan scene! Let's not even get in the whole Damon-you-deserve-everything-and I-deserve-nothing-because-I-turned-you BS because I'm TIRED! But here's what caught my attention
Stefan To Damon: You have quite literally an eternity with Elena!
Quite Literally? QUITE LITERALLY!
Wasn't Elena human at the time and had been so for at least 5 years in TVD's timeline while Damon was a vampire! What did he even mean by "Quite Literally" !!! And,Damon WANTED a Human life with Elena as far as my memory serves! Am I missing something?
THIRD. Stefan to Elena: (paraphrasing) I want you to have an opportunity to get to know the human Damon, the brother who went to civil war...etc,etc
WAIT! Pause! REWIND. Stefan GAVE THE CURE to Damon. He had NO idea whether or not Bonnie was going to break the spell because to HIS KNOWLEDGE and everyone else's She would DIE if she did."I don't know what happened to Bonnie".
Was he secretly hoping Bonnie would die as she destroyed hell and Elena would wake up and BAM! Delena Endgame!
PLUS, Stefan's ACT OF CURING Damon had to be premeditated, right?I mean Stefan had NO CLUE WHEN Elena would wake up."One day when you wake up...". He just ACTIVELY RUINED any chance of a Delena endgame BEFORE telling Elena he wanted her to get to know Human Damon!! Logically,Damon would have grown old and died,or had liver cirrhosis due to excessive drinking & dropped dead or just died in a car crash while driving under influence DECADES BEFORE Elena had woken up. Was Stefan high?
FOURTH.Caroline.Now this is going to be a little controversial. As much as I love SC,I love the characters individually first. And Caroline in the series finale had me confused. She just LEFT her human husband behind! And when Ric told her about Stefan's decision, she just wept and called Stefan & said "I understand". What exactly did she understand?Because I surely didn't!Didn't even ask Ric to turn the car back or anything! She once again used the twins as her escape goat just like she did before. For a while,it felt like I was back in s7.Rremember how majority blamed Stefan while actively choosing to erase the fact Caroline was equally complicit in the breakdown of their relationship? She refused to have anything to do with Stefan even though she knew Stefan was being hunted & die soon. She refused to travel with Stefan. There was no explanation for her actions & Plec weaponised CA's pregnancy to defend her incompetence or lack of willingness to write SC properly and everyone convinced themselves that's what happened.
Just so you know, all of these don't make me love Caroline any less.I am aware she's highly flawed. But there is a difference between showing someone's flaw and turning that character unrecognisable to serve the plot.TVD chose the second.
I could go on and on but it's pointless.I think ,in my experience, this is the WORST series finale I have ever watched. Probably worse than How I Met Your Mother! It's not even about the triangle or SC.Not even Stefan's death. It's the writing! Writing is the backbone of a story, you know! What they delivered is Pedestrian Garbage!
Hey, anon!
1 – Yeah, one of my biggest frustrations was how freely the writers ignored their own internal rules for the magic systems. They’d tie themselves into knots, then create a loophole or a new spell to undo it. The mythology was tight in the earlier seasons but became loose in the later seasons. This is a problem because the stakes are lowered. Why create rules if you're going to ignore the consequences when the rules become inconvenient?
2 - I’ll be honest I can’t even remember a lot of the Delena stuff in the last season because I just checked out of their story by then. 😂 So, I looked up who took the cure(s) and apparently, Damon took one at the end too?? *sigh* As I’ve complained before – the writers changed Damon’s motivations to suit the plot, rather than change the plot to suit the character. The inconsistent characterization is one of the weaknesses of the show.

4- "Remember how majority blamed Stefan while actively choosing to erase the fact Caroline was equally complicit in the breakdown of their relationship"
Oh, yes. I remember. 😒 I adore Caroline. She's a ray of sunshine. Nevertheless, she wasn't perfect. She contributed to the breakdown of her relationship with Stefan in season 7. Stefan's not a mind-reader.
"I think ,in my experience, this is the WORST series finale I have ever watched. Probably worse than How I Met Your Mother!"
Now, that's an indictment. lol
Honestly, though, the TVD finale was one of the most disappointing finales for me. Nothing is satisfying about a suicidal character sacrificing themselves at the end of a story. Just 🤬
That said, as much as I hate the TVD finale I hate the Merlin finale more. The Merlin finale completely undermined the entire premise of the show.
