First Date Headcanons for Tom Hiddleston's Characters - Part 2
(Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters or images. This is just a fun listicle, not designed to offend anyone. As always, please feel free to leave comments and/or constructive criticism below. Thank you, and without any further ado, please enjoy!)

Jonathan Pine from The Night Manager
Breakfast date
A date with Jonathan Pine would begin with him inviting you to share breakfast after his shift as night manager. The meal wouldn't be terribly decadent, but it would be beautiful enough for a
date.
(If this is set in the Hotel Nefertiti in Cairo, then breakfast might be foul/ful or taameya (which are made with fava beans) or whatever was left over from the hotel kitchens. And if this is set in Hotel Meister in Zurich, then breakfast would be bread, margarine, marmalade, and hot chocolate.)
"Are you tired after a long night?" You gently asked while he placed some food on your plate.
Jonathan let out a chuckle. "I'm used to it." He filled his own plate, and then sat across from you. "What do you enjoy doing most at night?"
"Aside from sleeping?"
"Sleeping only makes up a third of a person's life," Jonathan replied without missing a beat. "There must be something else you like to do after sundown."
Jonathan would be very courteous, asking you about where you were from and what you enjoyed doing. He would not reveal much about himself, merely saying that he left an army career for an occupation that was much more 'quiet'.
After the meal, Jonathan would be happy to accompany you for a small stroll or he would escort you to wherever it is you wanted to go. Before saying goodbye, he would gently hold your hand and sincerely thank you for your company, hoping to see you again soon.
Robert Laing from High-Rise
Going out to the restaurant in the high-rise
A date with Robert Laing would begin with him picking you up from your apartment (which is also located in the high-rise) at about 7 or 8 PM. He'd be dressed to the nines, wearing a grey suit and a gold tie, with his hair combed.
As a new resident, Robert wouldn't be very familiar with the fine dining places outside of the high rise. So he'd prefer to go to the one within the building (in my mind, it's also the place he frequently orders dinner from. He can cook, but doesn't prefer to do it often.)
Throughout the dinner, Robert would talk mostly about his work as a lecturer at the medical school. He would also ask about your apartment, how often you went to Charlotte Melville's parties, and where you were from.
"What do you think of the parties?" You asked while Robert cut his food with a fork and knife.
"They are…nothing like I have ever been to before."
"Do you go to many parties?"
"No," Robert replied, taking a bite. "I don't always have the interest. I prefer something intimate like this. In any case, I'm happy we could do this."
"Me too. Charlotte has said many good things about you."
Robert raised an eyebrow. "Did she tell you that I've been wanting to go out with you since that afternoon we met?"
After paying for the meal, Robert would walk you to your apartment. You offered to make him some coffee, saying it was the least you could do. Over two cups of hot espresso, Robert and you would talk some more, possibly falling asleep in each other's company. But in the morning, Robert would thank you for a nice time and help you get ready for the day before leaving for work. Of course, not without forgetting a kiss.
Magnus Martinsson from Wallander
Drinks at the local pub
A date with Magnus would begin with him picking you up after his shift at the police station. Depending on how much work there was for him, he might come to pick you up at a pretty late hour.
"Wow," Magnus gulped, watching you lock your front door and come towards his car. "You look fantastic tonight."
The two of you would go to the local pub and share a few pints, talking about work, the weather, and anything else that catches your fancy. Maybe if he's feeling like showing off, Magnus would play a round of billiards or darts (and hopefully win). And if you asked, he would gladly teach you to play, unafraid to hold you close while he tells you how to properly hold a billiard stick and shoot.
The date would end with a couple of kisses, and Magnus driving you back to your place. He'd bid you goodnight, and if everything went well, he would ask you when you'd be free for a second date.
Oakley from Unrelated
Swimming or skinny dipping at night
A date with Oakley would begin with the two of you sneaking to the pool after everyone else has either gone to sleep or retired to their rooms for the night. And tucked under his sleeve, Oakley would smuggle a bottle of alcohol from the cellar or a flask containing the ingredients of a Negroni. The two of you would take turns drinking, laughing all the while.
When the alcohol's finished, Oakley would quickly remove his shorts, t-shirt, and underwear and jump into the cool, still waters.
"Did you just…?" You gasped before bursting into a fit of giggles.
"Of course I did." Oakley leaned his head back and treaded water. "It's so much more fun that way. Come on, love. The water's relaxing and the weather is still unforgiving at night."
Taking a breath, you jumped into the pool and waded towards Oakley. He whispered for you to relax before putting his arms around you and his lips on yours. Depending on how comfortable you were with him, Oakley would kiss you more, leaning you against the edge of the pool so he could nuzzle against your neck.

Thomas Sharpe from Crimson Peak
Ballroom dancing
A date with Thomas Sharpe would begin with you meeting him at a party where he's either the guest of honor, or a party where the two of you are guests. He would politely catch your attention, drawing you away from your friends so he can have a word with you. With an innocent smile, he would make small talk, asking about how you're enjoying the festivities.
And when it's time for the dancing to begin, he would graciously offer you his hand.
"Will you grant me the honor of sharing a dance with you tonight, my lady?" After pressing a kiss against your knuckles, Thomas clutches your waist and begins to lead you in a swift yet gentle waltz.
The two of you would dance together for a few songs, not taking your eyes off of each other. And after that, Thomas would lead you to a less crowded part of the ballroom, talking to you about your family, about the things you liked (so he could remember in the future when buying you a present), and about where you were from.
The night would end with Thomas (and his sister) escorting you home as a gesture of courtesy, and a proper good night kiss. A few days later, you would receive a letter -penned by Thomas himself - about how much he enjoyed spending the evening with you, and how he would like to continue courting you.
Jaguar! Tom Hiddleston
Cocktails at a fancy lounge, and a long drive at night
A date with this Jaguar villain would begin with him inviting you to drinks at an exclusive club in downtown London. Showing off his influence, he would get a room just for the two of you. After a few bits of small talk, he'd move closer and whisper in your ear just how pretty you are, sending chills down your spine.
"You look absolutely ravishing tonight, darling," he purred, placing his hand against your lower back. "After you finish that drink, what do you say to taking this elsewhere? Surely you must be wanting more…"
He'd take you for "a spin" in his Jaguar only for you to end up on the road at nearly 140 kilometers per hour. Little did you know, he actually had some pretty interesting cargo in the dicky - the type of cargo that police might be attracted to.
"Don't worry about the sirens," he told you excitedly, as if he were a child on Christmas morning. "It just adds to the excitement!"

Murder In Red
Chapter 5
Summary: Last chapter, Maeve's flat was in ruin and she was nowhere to be found. In this chapter, we finally meet the murderer, and the reasons for why are starting to unravel.
Warnings: Brief mentions of abuse and death (it is a murder mystery) and suicidal ideation.

Magnus’s phone rings just as he hops out of his car. “Martinsson…I’m just about to -”
Kurt cuts the young man off, “Get back to the station quickly, Magnus, we’ve got another missing girl.”

Maeve groaned as she came to, her head spinning as she slowly opened her eyes. Her vision was blurry and her head and neck hurt. The young detective surveyed her surroundings, her heart sinking when she realized she was tied to a chair in some dank, dirty cellar with only one bare bulb hanging from the ceiling. A set of wooden stairs was off to her right, just a few feet ahead. Her eyes sweep over the rest of the room, looking for anything that might be an escape. She could only see a window in the far corner, though it was too high to climb up to. Maeve sighed heavily, muttering under her breath.
“You’re an eejit, Maeve. An eejit…should have realized sooner.”
A rattling sound catches her attention. “Connor, is that you? If you try and scare me, I swear I’ll -”
“C-connor?” comes a timid voice. “Who’s Connor? My boyfriend's name is Eoin...well, he's not my boyfriend anymore.”
Maeve could hear the all too familiar lilt in the woman’s voice, her heart rising in her chest right before it plummeted into her stomach. “Another one? Fuck…erm, hello? I’m Maeve. What’s your name?"
From a few feet away, a mane of red hair pops out from an alcove under the stairs. Maeve could see that the young girl’s hands were tied to one of the pillars and that her face was streaked with dirt and tears - clearly, she had been there a while.
“I-I’m Esmi. Do you know what’s going on?” her voice was trembling. “Eoin and I were so happy together and then he started yelling at me for every little thing. After one particular argument, he slapped me across the face…and the next thing I remember I was tied up down here. I don’t know how long I’ve been here. When the lights went on, I thought I was saved. But,” she hissed,” it was only him bringing some company for me. Who are ya anyway?”
“Er, I…I’m part of the Guards in Ystad…”
The other young woman snorted. “Oh yeah, and I’m the bloody president of Ireland. At least the Gardai back home know not to get caught by homicidal eejits! Now I will never see my home or family again.”
A loud, creaking sound broke through the conversation, followed by a succession of more squeaking floorboards. Maeve swore under her breath when she saw a pair of black boots descending, knowing that their owner would soon be appearing.
“No, my darling, Esmi, you will not be leaving anytime soon. I am afraid that you were simply a means to an end and you will still have to die, however, not as dramatically as I had planned.” Connor smirks at Maeve. “It will be your death, my love. That will be dramatic.
“I’m the one you wanted, Connor, can’t you let her go? This charade is over and it’s just between you and me. Leave her out of it. Please!”
The man laughed bitterly. “Ah, I do like hearing you beg, M. Just like old times… And I see you haven’t lost that bleeding heart I loved so much.” he looks between the two women thoughtfully. “Hm, maybe I will let her go free so that she can tell how you and I died together. Almost like Romeo and Juliet. It is quite romantic, don’t you think?”
Maeve gave him a look of disgust. “I am NOT going to die and certainly not next to your psycho arse! I was right to dump you when I did. You were controlling throughout our entire relationship and when I finally got up the courage to go to the academy, I knew it was the right thing for the both of us. I wasn’t going to be your puppet anymore and it scared you. You hit me, I remember that… I moved on but it seems you couldn’t. It’s a shame.
“How dare you!” Connor growled and rushed over to her. His face was inches from hers, screwed into a sneer, and put something cold and sharp to Maeve’s neck. “You broke my heart! I had to get even with you and it looks like I will. You will get what you deserve and I will be right next to you, watching the life drain from your face. Don’t worry though, I will join you soon enough in the afterlife.”
Esmerelda watched this whole thing in shocked silence, her heart thudding. At some point during their exchange, she wondered if Eoin, or Connor, was distracted enough that she could escape. This wasn’t her problem, it was a stupid “lovers' spat” that she had been unfairly dragged into it and all she wanted to do was leave. She pulls tentatively on her restraints at first, looking over at the other two to see if she’d been heard, then pulls harder but they won’t budge. Connor’s laugh startles the girl.
“Eheh, nice try, love. But you won’t be going anywhere,” he smirks, “at least not until you see our dear Maeve exit stage left. I want you to be there to witness the death scene and the mourning of a grief-stricken lover.” He tilts his head to the side. “Do you hear that, ladies? I do believe that’s the sound of an anonymous tip ringing through to the police station…if you’ll excuse me.” His laughter echoes ominously off the walls as he retreats back up the stairs, locking the door behind him with a clink.

Rebus – BBC picks up new series

Richard Rankin takes on the role of the famous Scottish detective
The BBC acquired the Scottish crime drama Rebus. Made by Eleventh Hour Films for Viaplay, and based on Ian Rankin’s novels, the series stars Richard Rankin (no relation) in the title role.
The detective has been previously played, as an Inspector, by both John Hannah and Ken Stott.
Rebus
The six-part series has been adapted for the screen by Gregory Burke who reimagines the character earlier in his career. Detective Sergeant John Rebus is drawn into a violent criminal conflict that turns personal when his brother Michael, a former soldier, crosses the line into criminality. Rebus finds himself torn between protecting his brother and enforcing the law to bring Michael to justice.
Gregory Burke To Adapt Ian Rankin’s Rebus Series as Eleventh Hour Drama Black Watch. Both adaptations, have Richard Rankin’s participation. Based on interviews with former soldiers, it tells the story of troops from the then Black Watch regiment serving in Iraq. The play toured around the world and went on to win four Olivier Awards.

The series promises to explore family, morality and class in an emotionally charged story, set against the Scottish landmarks that Rankin’s readers know so well.
Joining Richard Rankin (Outlander), the series also stars Lucie Shorthouse (Bulletproof), Brian Ferguson (The Ipcress File) and Amy Manson (The Nevers). Plus, Neshla Caplan, Noof Ousellam, Stuart Bowman, Caroline Lee Johnson, Sean Buchanan, Thoren Ferguson and Michelle Duncan.
Filming took place in Glasgow and Edinburgh last year.

Rebecca Ferguson on the relationship with Sweden - and Swedish film: "Give me a role"
The criticism after the TV4 interview: "I don't want to fuck it up"
LONDON. Rebecca Ferguson, 40, has left Sweden and is taking Hollywood by storm.
But beyond the successes with "Dune", "Silo" and "Mission: impossible", she is careful to nurture the ties to her home country.
"I don't get that many Swedish offers, give me a role", says Rebecca Ferguson to Aftonbladet Nöje.
The Hollywood star is sitting in a suite at the five-star Rosewood Hotel in Holborn in central London. Here, the blockbuster "Dune: Part two" has occupied an entire floor for marketing and interviews ahead of the premiere date, which in Sweden is February 28.
Since a couple of years ago, London is also Rebecca Ferguson's hometown.
"I left Sweden, after covid I really moved", says the actress.
She grew up in Stockholm with a British mother and a Swedish father, went to Adolf Fredrik's music classes and broke through as a 15-year-old with the TV4 soap "Nya tider" where she had the lead role as Anna Gripenhielm. This in turn gave her a role in the American-Swedish drama series "Ocean Ave".
After she moved to Österlen in 2007 to be in the BBC's Wallander film "Sidetracked", she chose to stay in Simrishamn in Scania. There she met the filmmaker Richard Hobert, who gave her one of the main roles in the feature film "En enkel till Antibes", where she played opposite Sven-Bertil Taube, among other things. Then the international career really took off.
Wanted to start a colony
Rebecca Ferguson played the main role of Elisabet Woodville in the BBC series "The white queen", for which she was Emmy nominated, Jenny Lind in the musical "The greatest showman" (2017) and the British spy Ilsa Faust in several "Mission: impossible" films. But when she wasn't working with Tom Cruise, Hugh Jackman or Michael Fassbender, she tried to build a life on the plains of East Scania. Until a few years ago.
"I built a large farm in Knäbäckshusen and tried to create some kind of colony there, with a key box, so that people could come and go, she says. "But then I had a long conversation with my son where I really said "what am I doing?"
Until 2015, she was together with Ludwig Hallberg, with whom she has a 16-year-old son, Isac. But according to Rebecca Ferguson, the ex-boyfriend was not completely on board with the plans for an open-door farm.
"Ludde" said that "we are fine, we don't need a colony, we live here", and I felt that I needed to find a root somewhere. I needed to let go of Simrishamn and root in London.
Assistant and schedule
Today, Rebecca Ferguson lives in Richmond in West London with her husband Rory, who she married in December 2018. Together they have a daughter Saga, who turns 6 this spring, and Rebecca Ferguson describes the puzzle of recordings, marketing and family life as a well-oiled machine.
"It works great. I have such a luxury. It's like running a business in that it's scheduling and I have people to help", she says.
Although life as a movie star is often changeable, Rebecca Ferguson makes sure that the children have structure in their lives.
"I have an assistant, but it's more of a family friend who helps with our daughter and makes sure to fly over my son. I am also extremely close to my son's father, we are very communicative and talk all the time. We are like a big family and it's like a puzzle, but it works."
Criticism after interview
The relationship with the home country suffered a thorn in connection with an interview with Efter fem on TV4 in April last year, where she did not want to speak Swedish and questioned reporter Nanna Martorell's English skills.
A storm of criticism followed and Rebecca Ferguson was noticed, among other things, by the Instagram account "Dyngbaggegalan", which celebrates uncomfortable moments from Swedish television.
Rebecca Ferguson has said that she was saddened when she heard about the criticism after the interview and said that she did not recognize herself. Almost a year after the interview, which was supposed to be about the film "Mission: impossible: dead reckoning", she brings up the incident herself - when Swedish "Dune" colleague Stellan Skarsgård, 72, comes forward.
"Stellan, I love him. That Swedish root is so important. That's why I was so sad about the interview that took place between me and Nanna. It became such a big deal", she says.
"I was misinformed, I had no idea who I was going to meet, only that I had an angry journalist who was pissed off. They asked if they should cut her out but I said "no, take her in, why is she so damn angry?" So I went in with the gas at the bottom - and met the world's most beautiful woman."
Is there something still gnawing at you?
"The reason I bring it up is that the Swedish relationship, for example to Stellan, when I speak Swedish, feels so important. It is enough for someone to speak Swedish and I feel a sense of calm."
"Was extremely rude"
Rebecca Ferguson is worried that the interview has given the Swedes a wrong image of her as an expatriate Hollywood diva.
"The only thing I needed to know was that Nanna is okay, because I was extremely rude to her. I called her, we had the world's conversation and now she gets any interview she wants," she says.
"But I don't want that role in Sweden. Sweden is the archipelago, semlor, Värmdö and my dad, Vasastan and Rörstrandsgatan – I don't want to fuck it up."
In addition to "Dune: Part two", this year Rebecca Ferguson is also currently in theaters with "Mission: impossible - dead reckoning part two". At the same time, she is recording the second season of the TV series "Silo".
Opens for Swedish film
But despite a burgeoning Hollywood career, she keeps the door open to making Swedish films.
"It is not important in that way that I have to do culture in Sweden, but give me a script that is great, give me a role. I don't get that many offers so that would be great," she says.
In an interview with the British newspaper The Guardian in October 2019, the star said that "I don't get recognized and that suits me". According to Rebecca Ferguson, very little has changed on that front in the last five years - despite the fact that her CV has been significantly replenished.
""It's pretty cool when you're at a premiere, like with "Dune", and it's like a rock concert: thousands of people screaming when Timothée and Austin - and also me - come in. It has created such a large following, she says.
"Mission" was probably also a bit like that, with Tom. It's on a whole other level. I can imagine that many people in this film need security personnel when they are out and about. But I can only go where I want and do what I want."
Doesn't want to be seen as a diva
Rebecca Ferguson estimates that four to five people a day come to her.
"They take a picture, you give them a small hug or a high-five, and move on," she says.
"There is probably a part of me that wishes I also needed to be snuck out of a restaurant from the back way, because there are so many people out there who just love me. It is the ego. But the sane part of me thanks God that I can go wherever I want with my children, my husband and my friends."
The same applies when she comes home to Sweden - which she is happy about.
"Sweden is somehow my soul. I wouldn't like to come to Sweden and it would have been the world's damned "hoppla". That's why I think I brought up this interview with Nanna again, that it hurts me that so many people saw a side of me that I'm not, which is a diva."

…to miss large parts of the "Dune" sequel's extensive PR tour:
"I'm filming "Silo" season two so I've only had to jump in now, it was no from my production company Apple because they needed to finish. Considering the strike (in Hollywood), we were behind in the filming. And I have had such FOMO. It's been a hell of a job, and at the same time quite nice, because I get anxiety on all these red carpets, I think it's quite tough."

"I worked during the day, flew into Paris, did interviews, changed, premiere, did the red carpet, then everyone else came, then we took one or two pictures, then I had to jump into the car, take off the corset and everything, jump into gym clothes, get on the train, take the 21 train back to London, drive to the hotel by the studio and then I was there filming all day."

"He is the best director I have ever worked with. I know that in Sweden we hate the word "normal", but he is adequate, normal and so damn stable. He is calm and it rubs off on others. He doesn't have an ego, he's shy, he's direct, has a plan, he's incredibly prepared, and you don't push him. And it's awesome."

Well, I'm not exactly an "Ask Me Anything" person by nature, so when I was tagged by @calamity-cain to answer a little question game, I retired under a rock to meditate for some time and produce my answers.
So, here goes:
relationship status: for ages with someone who still has no idea of who/what shares their bed.
favorite color: hmmmm… I’m a glutton when it comes to ANY colour. This can get irritating: it’s never just colours, but colours + matching + texture + shades + material… And if it’s all together, it hits like a train. So.... dark-red very scented velvet rosebud?
Some colours I adore in flowers, like delicate yellow/blue-purple irises, but as to wearing them, it's normally black, white or the occasional sand colour.
song stuck in my head: “Made in Italy” by Rosa Chemical
three favorite foods: although my approach to food is more theoretical than practical, which both sounds and IS stupid… Favorites… risotto with porcini mushrooms, the heretical version (with saffron), triglie al pomodoro (red mullet with tomato), any fish or shellfish recipe I don’t have to spend time cooking myself.
And… don’t ever ask an Italian to name just three foods… ;-D
last song I listened to: “Ghosts Again” by Depeche Mode
dream trip: California. I’d like to visit where the film industry was born, where it died and still haunts the place. Many of my loves from the Past and Present are there. Some at Hollywood Forever, like Rudy Valentino or Rozz Williams, but someone else in the world of the Living (they know who they are)!
last thing I googled: what changes DOWN THERE after re-assigning surgery, and how does that work? Well, yes. With respect, that it was.

Endless curiosities I google instead of sleeping, with some recurrent obsessions, like plants propagation, languages, or types of fabric (when I’ll reach “types of ashes” that’ll have to stop, I’m told).
Fanfiction: anything @drachenkinder or @illwynd wrote or write.
Book: “Funeral Games”, by Mary Renault (basically glorified fanfiction of Alexander the Great), and “Bacchae”, yes, Euripides. 1) won’t pretend that was my idea. I found it quoted in wonderful fic “Dog in the Heart” by @thebookhunter, and got curious; 2) It’s GREAT.
Currently writing:
some obscure original narrative (nobody asked for), some Rozz Williams fanfiction, written in my heart’s blood (nobody asked for it either), some Lestat!Bowie WIP (somebody DID ask for it, some time ago, but please let them forget they did). Other: Bowie WIPs, BBC Sherlock WIPs... (may public mortification restore this pen to dignity).
Last series: Wallander. Late to the party, I know. But that was irresistibly sad.
Last movie: “Bones and All”. Guadagnino does it again: a good movie out of a bad book!
Sweet/savoury/spicy: savoury AND spicy. Sweet drives me a bit crazy in a bad way. But… what happened to bitter and sour? :-P

Do you have Wallander-related thoughts at this time? I am watching this show belatedly because I need it to get through dissertation-writing, and I am experiencing Emotions
Update on my Wallander watching…this show is hella dark, and Kenneth Branagh seems to spend most of his time on the verge of a breakdown. I am #concerned
Emotions!!! I neglected answering the first half of this because it has been A Week, and the second ask resolved a question I had, which was: books, Swedish show, or BBC show?
I read two or three of the Wallander novels (in German translation because there were a bunch of paperbacks for 50 cents on an archive book sale table, but I digress) and found them impressive and immersive. They're beautifully crafted and also... just too gruesome for my taste. Maybe it's because I was reading them in a second language, and so my ability to speed through unpleasant details was limited? I don't know that they're that much more grim in content or mood than Ruth Rendell, or P.D. James, or Elizabeth George, and yet. I couldn't stomach it, much as I enjoyed the opera-loving sad detective.
I loved the Branagh-led show, though. I thought that its refusal to tidy away painful edges on the cases or the relationships among the team members was excellent. (Also Tom Hiddleston as the dorky sergeant is a gift.) And, not to spoil anything for you, but if you're experiencing Emotions about Branagh's Wallander only partway through the show... brace yourself. I think it's one of his best screen performances.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has announced seven new recurring cast members for the forthcoming second season, currently in production in the UK.

The new cast members are: Gabriel Akuwudike, Yasen ‘Zates’ Atour, Ben Daniels, Amelia Kenworthy, Nia Towle, and Nicholas Woodeson. The role of Orc leader “Adar” has been recast for Season Two, and will be played by Sam Hazeldine.
GABRIEL AKUWUDIKE
Gabriel Akuwudike is a British-Nigerian actor who has appeared in the acclaimed series Hanna (Prime Video). Other TV credits include Ridley Road (BBC) and War of the Worlds (FX/Disney+). He has appeared in films including Sam Mendes’ 1917, and HBO’s Brexit directed by Toby Haynes.
YASEN ‘ZATES’ ATOUR
Yasen ‘Zates’ Atour is most known for his role as “Coen” in Season Two of The Witcher (Netflix). He was also a series regular in Young Wallander (Netflix), playing the role of “Reza Al-Rahman.” He directed the film Good Intentions and was an executive producer and star of the film When the Screaming Starts.
BEN DANIELS
Ben Daniels has had recurring roles in television including Jupiter’s Legacy (Netflix) as “Walter Sampson,” The Crown (Netflix) as “Lord Snowdon,” The Exorcist (Hulu) as “Father Marcus Keane,” House of Cards (Netflix) as “Adam Galloway,” and Law & Order: UK (ITV) as “James Steel.” Film credits include roles in Benediction, Captive State, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and The Exception. During her studies at Guildhall School of Drama, from which she graduated in 2021, Nia played leading roles in plays including Yerma, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Medea.
NICHOLAS WOODESON
Nicholas Woodeson is a veteran English performer of television, film, and theatre. In television, his credits include Silent Witness (BBC), Baptiste (BBC), The Honourable Woman (BBC), Poirot (ITV), and Rome (HBO / BBC). He can also be seen in films including The Hustle, Paddington 2, The Danish Girl, Skyfall, and Conspiracy. I like it when the lead is a kind hearted person, always trying to do the right thing but facing some hardships along the way. And also I like it even more when there are strong friendships (that was the case in Atlantis too). Kindhearted whumpees are so nice. I tend to go more towards the stoic dark villain antihero type of ones but I love a good kind, lighthearted whumpee too. My first thought was Merlin from the BBC series. He's like the definition of kindhearted whumpee for me. And I am ALL about strong friendships. You can't have enough of those in media. Some other good whumpees for you that I would label as kindhearted, tries to do the right thing but bad shit keeps happening:

I mean even Jeremy Irons, who likes Tom, said he's had an easy life. - I don't have the quote handy so I may be misremembering it, but Ken said something like "Tom has had difficult things happen, he just doesn't talk about it". And I respect that and am glad Ken said that. Some people don't feel a need to air their dirty laundry to gain other people's respect. Yes, Tom has had it relatively easy. I am not here to deny that. But to anons point-why are other celebs like BC and ER and a whole bunch of others ever held to the same criticism? Maybe it's the whole posh guy the media pushed on him as at the beginning of his career? That is their only image of him?
Seriously, if anyone knows the quote of which I speak, help a gal out. I have seen it pop up multiple times and of course, now I can't find it. Maybe it isn't a real quote (never trust the internet) but the sentiment is what I was going for. People make a personality out of feeling bad for the "terror's" TS has gone through and you can't say she hasn't had an easy life. Why is it so hard for people to see Tom as a person and not a stereotype of things they hate the most that have nothing to do with who he really is?

I also found another KB interview post-Hamlet where he said that in his class at RADA, Tom was the only student with a "posh" family background.
Tom undoubtedly has had it easier than many early in his career, because he had a family that he could have fallen back on if need be.
We know that he payed the fees for RADA himself with money that he earned from acting jobs while at Cambridge, but frankly we don't know if he received financial help for his costs of living while at RADA. It can be assumed, because he had his own flat (not rented), and since he couldn't take professional acting jobs during this time, we have to assume that he received help for his cost of living.
But that also means that he never had to make use of all the various opportunies for grants and stipends and whatnot that lesser affluent students at RADA have access to.
So yeah, he may not have had to worry so much about how to pay rent, but we still have next to no insight into what his life was like, especially his state of mind, during those years at RADA and afterwards, until his career started to get off the ground. He has talked about how he struggled to book jobs after RADA, how he failed at a lot of auditions. That cannot have been easy, either.
I think people also feel that he has had it "easy" because it feels like he had his break through with Loki immediately after RADA. But that's not true. There were four to five years where he was just a jobbing actor, like most. I imagine that these years were just as fraught with insecurities and worries as they would be for actors with no "posh" background.

Precipita aereo militare a Belgorod: scambio di accuse Mosca-Kiev.
Un aereo russo da trasporto militare, un Ilyushin Il-76, è precipitato, nelle scorse ore, nella regione russa di Belgorod, al confine con l'Ucraina. A bordo, secondo Mosca, c’erano 65 prigionieri di guerra ucraini, che dovevano essere liberati nell'ambito di uno scambio, oltre a 6 membri dell'equipaggio e 3 “accompagnatori”. Lo ha riferito l'agenzia Ria Novosti.
Nel giro di alcuni minuti, lo stato maggiore di Kiev ha reso noto che l'abbattimento dell'aereo da trasporto militare russo è opera delle forze armate ucraine. Per l’esercito ucraino l'aereo trasportava missili S-300 verso basi «da dove i russi spesso attaccano Kharkiv e la regione».
Il presidente ucraino Volodymyr Zelensky ha chiesto un'indagine internazionale in merito a quanto accaduto a Belgorod: «È ovvio che i russi giocano con la vita dei prigionieri ucraini, con i sentimenti dei loro parenti e con le emozioni della nostra società».
Il ministro degli Esteri russo Sergei Lavrov ha chiesto una riunione urgente del Consiglio di Sicurezza Onu. Parlando con i giornalisti all'Onu, Lavrov ha poi precisato che nel corso della riunione del Consiglio di Sicurezza il rappresentante di Kiev avrà l'occasione di spiegare l’incidente.
In un video la cui attendibilità è stata verificata si vede l’aereo cadere ed esplodere dopo aver toccato terra. Secondo due esperti militari consultati da BBC News, le immagini mostrate del video sarebbero compatibili con l’abbattimento dell’aereo in volo.
Intanto, secondo Celeste Wallander, responsabile degli affari di sicurezza internazionale del Pentagono, i soldati ucraini starebbero finendo le munizioni e altre armi necessarie per combattere la Russia. Wallander ha anche ricordato che da dicembre gli Stati Uniti non sono stati in grado di inviare armi a Kiev agli stessi livelli dei due anni precedenti visto lo stallo in Congresso sull'autorizzazione di nuovi fondi per l’Ucraina....
