Will recognizing Brenner me thinks. I have three possible reasons why. The most popular one rn is abt Will´s history with the lab (why was he taken? how and why did the lab people recreate a replica of his body? did they need will seemingly dead so they could experiment on him? maybe do the same things they did with el?) I am actually really invested in this theory, I mean, poor Will, has if he hasn´t gone though enough, adding a possible past with Brenner and his experiments would just make it angsty-er; still, this is the theory everyone´s holding onto rn and it´s pretty credible. Still, this wasn´t my first thought when I read the script. Initially, I thought Will had somehow seen Brenner through the Upside Down, like he did with El in the comics, but then I remeber he saw El and El only, so maybe that only happened bc of their bond, or maybe because only the Supernatural Inflicted People/Creatures can sense each other, he couldn´t have sensed or seen Brenner then, so I quickly threw that idea off. Latest, and this one is as much as a possibility as the first theory, this is all Vecna´s doing. By the time the season ends, Will explains Mike how he´s still connected to Henry, can hear his thoughts and feel his feelings, so if Henry´s is already known for being able to reach into people´s minds and showing them visions and/or his own toughts, and Will is also already known for being able to have this connection to him and almost share the same mind space, like they did in S2, then I wouldn´t be suprised if Will eventually got the ability to reach into Henry´s mind and memories as well; this explaining why he remebers Brenner, not necessarly from hisownmemories, but from Henry´s. This still supports the Will Has Powers theory, something that is already kind of canon thanks to his True Sight, it just confirms the possibility of twisting this ability around, even if he´s not aware of it yet, and eventually realizing that, if Vecna can get to his head, so can Will.
