I think OG W3's depiction of Sylvanas' death is still my favorite bc it is very Warcraft-y. In their retcons of it they've played up the tragedy of her death and also made her more of an idiot, and I just never liked that.

I loved the woman that went "You think I'm running?" before blowing up a bridge and engaging in aggressive guerilla warfare against the undead. I miss the woman who died pinned down against a farm rather than in the middle of a field of flowers. I miss the woman who had the audacity to go "Finish it, I deserve a clean death," to a man she's been kamikaze-ing all day (remember W3 heroes resurrect at base) for him to go "Are you fucking smoking crack?"

I miss the Sylvanas that was an audacious bitch before she died. Now she's a scared barely adult dying after her first real defense of her people. Entirely changes the character.
