Vote Blue in ‘22!

We really, really have to take this seriously. This is Democrats only chance to save our democracy.❤️🌊💙

I know I’ve probably drawled on quite a lot about #VoteBlueIn2022. But take this into account: If the GOP regains control of the House AND Senate, that means not only will attempts at progress be blocked for who-knows-how-long, but that means people’s rights could be put at risk or obliterated entirely!

And as someone who lived under the worst Presidency from 2017 up until 2021, I know what’s up.

I don’t want to live in a country where members of the LGBTQ+ including myself have less rights than straight people; a country where my own mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunts, countless female cousins, nieces and female friends have less rights than a god damn automatic rifle or handgun; where we the working people barely or hardly make enough to afford our own homes and/or have be forced to choose between costly healthcare or death, going homeless or starving to death; where people of color are harassed or arrested JUST FOR EXISTING!

Seriously! I think you all KNOW what could be at stake for the next two years if we don’t take action and #VOTE. So please, vote like your rights depend on it. Because they literally still do!

Everyone is saying how they can't imagine what the families of the 19 children and 2 teachers who died in Uvalde, Texas today are going through. How they can't imagine what the families in Sandy Hook, Connecticut went through 10 years ago. How they can't fathom what the families of all the school shooting victims have had to fight through over the loss of their children.

I can. I have buried my baby. It wasn't due to school violence or gun violence, but I have held my dead child's tiny body in my arms and then gave him over to be prepared for burial. I cried. I screamed. I collapsed. I begged G-d to wake me up from the worst nightmare I couldn't have possibly imagined. I drank heavily for 3 years and SOMEHOW fought through to the other side.

These families will never get over this. Ever. This isn't something you get over. The best you can hope for is to get through it to the other side. Forever changed, forever altered. These parents will never be who they were before today happened, before their babies were killed for no reason. And mark my words there was no reason for this. It was senseless and easily preventable. Today never had to happen, and that fact will compound their trauma.

Some will go to therapy, some will live and breathe political activism on behalf of much needed gun control. Some will retreat from everyone, some will turn to alcohol (I did for 3 years), some to other ways to mute the screaming agony in their heads. Some won't make it, whether that's emotionally or physically, some just will not make it through.

I nearly didn't and I don't judge those for whom this is the end. We aren't supposed to bury our babies! We aren't supposed to outlive our children! This isn't 200 or more years ago when you would have 10 kids in the hopes that maybe 5, if you were lucky, would survive to adulthood. This isn't the way it's supposed to happen anymore. And it DOESN'T have to happen anymore... which makes this even more gut wrenching and heart breaking.

I know exactly how hard it is to cobble a life together after you lose a child and my soul bleeds for the struggle they're in for.

However... I am so ANGRY! What is it going to take??? Republicans, Libertarians and others of the conservative political ilk will NEVER do ANYTHING to end this. They will do everything, legal and illegal, to stymie Democratic, Green and other liberal attempts to legislate gun control. Nothing is beneath them.

So vote them all out. The only way we can save ourselves and our children is to vote them out. They do not care about any of us, so why should we care about them? Vote. Them. ALL. Out.

Things that have been statistically proven to drastically reduce the number of abortions, unplanned/unwanted pregnancies, and teen pregnancies:

Mandatory comprehensive science-based sex and health education in all schools.

Better access to affordable birth control and emergency contraception for all genders. This includes elective sterilization procedures such as tubal ligation or vasectomy.

Things that have been statistically proven to NOT drastically reduce the numbers of abortions and unwanted/unplanned pregnancies, and teen pregnancies:

Banning abortion outright.

Abstinence-only sex education.

The 2022 upcoming midterms are the most important midterms in this country's history. Any vote for a third party candidate, or not voting at all, is a vote for a Republican one. And I know there's a lot of people out there who aren't happy because they didn't get want from the current administration, like student loans being done away with for instance. And I get it, I really do. But the problem is, even though the Democrats supposedly have a majority, they don't really. There's two people, who call themselves Democrats, who consistently vote against their supposed party. We need at least two more Democrats to overcome that issue. And hopefully we can possibly get a few more even. If we can get a real majority then things would actually get done.

The most important issue is that the illegitimate scotus is going to be looking at a case where they will be able to make it so that in the GOP ran red states they can overturn the votes in a free and fair election to the candidate of their choice. It's all part of the ongoing coup attempt from the January 6th Insurrection. We need more Democrats elected so we can prevent that and get enough votes to expand the Supreme Court and make it a legitimate court for the people again. At the moment, the scotus is just another arm of the GOP.

So please, Democrats and Independents, please vote in these upcoming midterms, and please vote for the Democrat candidates. The 2022 and 2024 elections both need to be won by Democrats. Otherwise we may end up becoming an authoritarian, right wing, ultra conservative Christian theocracy, and that will destroy everything this country has ever stood for.

Love her or hate her, personally, I am so proud of Ellen DeGeneres. I remember watching her sitcom; I remember when she came out as gay; I remember the swift backlash and cancellation. I am so proud that she found the courage to keep on keeping on. I consider her a part of why things have progressed as far as they have around LGBTQ+ rights. Let’s not lose that momentum.

Christian Walker, one of Herschel Walker's sons, took to Twitter Monday night just hours after Herschel Walker denied the Daily Beast report to attack his father and level a series of accusations against him. "I don't care about someone who has a bad past and takes accountability. But how DARE YOU LIE and act as though you're some 'moral, Christian, upright man,'" Christian Walker said in one tweet.

"You're not a 'family man,'" Christian Walker said in another post.

On Tuesday morning, Christian Walker released a new video on Twitter in which he says he is done with what he called his father's lies and that conservatives should care about what he described as his father's deceptions.

"I was silent lie after lie after lie, the abortion card drops yesterday. It's literally his handwriting in the card. They say they have receipts, whatever. He gets on Twitter. He lies about it. Okay, I'm done. Done. Everything has been a lie," Walker said.

Herschel Walker has spoken frequently on the campaign trail about Christian Walker, the son he and his ex-wife had together and raised along with Walker's current wife. Christian is an outspoken conservative on social media.

As of this morning on Friday June 24th Roe v Wade was officially overturned.

Women will die because of this. Girls will die because of this. Back alley abortions in unsafe and unsterile conditions will return to the forefront of American life. People are going to die and die painfully.

My mother is a Baby Boomer and she said something to me when this whole thing leaked, I will paraphrase her here:

"The 3 generations after me don't know what a world without abortion was like. You all either were too young to remember or weren't born yet. Every single graduating high school class had a missing girl or two. They were missing because they were dead. They died because of the desperation that led to the back alley. The families had to lie about how their daughters died because if they didn't, people would publicly state that those girls deserved to die. They would say that murderers deserve the death penalty."

Well here we are and this is going to be the same thing all over again. Women and girls will die and Conservatives/Republicans will say that they deserved it.

No more excuses, no more bullshit, no more false equivalence, no more to all the crap. Vote, vote in every election from the tiniest local one to the biggest Presidential one. Vote blue, vote Democrat, vote conservatives and Republicans out of office. Our lives are on the line and if you don't believe that, you are too far gone for me to engage with.
