circus circus detail – it looks like this structure, which dates the opening of its hotel in 1972, houses its main power generators. this whole complex, opened in 1968 as an extraordinary bacchanal of a casino, has come to seem like more and more of a las vegas modernist masterpiece as everything around it is replaced by generic 21st century chintz. las vegas, nev. february 2024

Sretan Uskrs + Gallery Update
Good week end my friends! Hope all is well on your side! I want to take a moment and wish everyone a Happy Easter (sretan Uskrs) filled with Chocolates and happy moments!
Tumblr media
I also updated The Timeless Gallery by adding 472 HD screencaps from Episode 2 and 3. No matter how many times I've seen Episode 3 - Atomic City, I'm a sucker for Vegas history, movies and Tv Shows, it's always great to rewatch it... BUT, the Sands is not in the right location as seen on this picture, that's a major mistake ahhaha!
Tumblr media
In the present time, it's "The Venetian" that takes place where The Sands was., and the Horseshoes and the mint was nowhere near the Sands 🤣 But hey, it's ok...I still love this episode! I would for sure travel back in time to Las Vegas if I had a time machine... Vintage Vegas is sure quite interesting!
Now back to Mr. Flynn, you can find the Screencaps HERE or in the Gallery section of the website as always.

I shall try to come up with Chapter 5 of Mad World this week!! I know, I'm so busy ahha! Anyway, enjoy the rest of your week end!

When you go to The Neon Museum and you arrive early for your guided tour, you’re sent to the outdoor waiting area across the street from the visitors center, and the best part about this is having the opportunity to take some pictures of said visitors center: the lobby building of the La Concha Motel. Designed by Paul Williams who was one of the first prominent Black American architects in the United States, it’s a prime example of the Googie subgenre of the mid-century modern aesthetic. The owners of the motel actually left the lobby of the motel to the Neon Museum when it closed in 2004, and it was successfully moved in 2006.
The interior is faithfully restored, and it’s such a wonderful way to start off what will be a whirlwind 45-minute tour.
