Today in Star Wars fanon vs canon: Fanon: Clone troopers were decommissioned for basically anything Canon: There is literally a space station hospital for clone troopers and as far as I am aware the only sent back to Kamino thing is in the case of Tup and his malfunctioning chip Fanon: Proper procedures were not followed for Obi-Wan resulting in his being sent to Bandomeer/nobody else was aware he was being sent to Bandomeer/it was a manipulation by Yoda who deliberately sent both Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon there Canon: Obi-Wan’s crechemaster gave him the assignment, Obi-Wan was told before he was sent that he would be sent to the agricorps if he didn’t find a master. Both Mace and Yoda were aware of where Obi-Wan was being sent and *Yoda* argued that Obi-Wan should have more time/not be sent away. Mace argued against it. (This is frankly the worst portrayal of Mace and I am still mad about it.) Also Qui-Gon was sent to Bandommer on the request of the senate, so unless Yoda is manipulating the senate (and please, let’s not do “the secretive religion is secretly controlling the politicians” thing again) it was not a manipulation on Yoda’s part. Fanon: Jedi are repressed and never acknowledge feelings Canon: “Stretch out with your feelings, Luke.” Literally. The first freaking lesson that Obi-Wan gives Luke. Fanon: Jedi are all touched starved and never hug Canon: Do I need to bring back the Obi-Wan hugs Dex gif? I mean I will because Obi-Wan clearly gives excellent hugs Fanon: The Jedi attacked the Mandos on Galidraan unprovoked Canon:
Tumblr media
Fanon: Jango cared about the clones Canon:
Tumblr media
Listen if you want to use fanon go ahead, just... please stop using it in arguments to “prove” the Jedi are bad and maybe acknowledge that its fanon in your fics, thank you. I am so tired of things that are tagged canon compliant and then use the Bandomeer argument or the Galidraan one.

Porsche: My brother is my priority.
Porsche: I will take this position entirely to support him.
Porsche: I will protect him from my job to insure that he stays innocent.
Porsche: Going home to him is my first response when I'm hurt.
Porsche: I'm worried that he wants me to leave this new life.
Porsche: I'm trying to give him space but it's stressful.
Kinn: Aw, I'm stressed too, I forgot about Pete whom I sent to his death and torture
Porsche: Oh, baby, smile! Don't worry about me.

Sometimes I just want to sit down and say, like… Gay men, lesbian women, and straight people. You could wake up tomorrow and discover you’re actually bi.
Tomorrow you could meet someone of the sex you do not think you are attracted to and go “oh fuck”. There is no rule— nothing—that says that could not happen to you at any moment.
“I’ve lived forty years without—” so?
“I can just tell I’m—” how?
Now, we can get into the conversation of how these labels aren’t actually law, and that you can be a lesbian even if there was that one guy and you can be a straight guy if there were those two guys in college and etc.
And that’s totally true and valid and we should normalize that. But that’s another post.
My point for this post is that, yes, you are one strange meeting away from being bisexual. It will probably never happen. But you can never say with 100% certainty that it won’t happen.
But that doesn’t mean every gay, lesbian, and straight person should start calling themselves bisexual just in case. That would be a completely absurd thing to expect.
Can you imagine if we go around to gay men and were like “but how do you know you’ll never be attracted to a woman?” Imagine if we did it to straight people? The idea you have to call yourself Bi just in case?
This is easy to understand. So why is it so hard for people to understand when it comes to asexual and aromantic people?
Like… I suppose I could wake up tomorrow and catch some feels for someone. I… doubt it. But it could happen.
But I’ve been alive 22 years and it hasn’t happened yet. So why should I expect it? Why should I spend time thinking about it? Why should I label myself based on that slim possibility?
The number of straight people who have said to me “well you never know” or “maybe you just haven’t met the right person” or whatever. Can you all IMAGINE what they would say to me if I threw it back?
“Oh, sally, you don’t like any women yet but you never know. Maybe you just haven’t met the right woman.” Their heads would explode I think.
I am an adult. I have been through college and it’s social life. My brain is (basically) done developing and I finished puberty quite a while ago. How late do you have to be before people concede that you’re not a “late bloomer” you’re just not gonna bloom at all?
Maybe tomorrow I will wake up and be attracted to someone. I still would consider myself on the aroace spectrum. But to be honest I think I know myself enough to trust it’s not going to happen. And I don’t think I should have to plan for it or expect it.

Don't want to put this on the post itself for risk of derailing it, but that post the other day about Terry Pratchett's early work really stuck in my mind. OP had sent in an ask saying that they heard some of Pratchett's earlier works had problematic elements (not unusual for a male english writer in the 80s) and they weren't sure whether to go ahead with reading the work anyway.
What I really want to ask that person, or indeed all persons who are hesitating over whether or not to read problematic works or works by imperfect authors:
What are you worried about happening, if you read a work with problematic elements?
I'm worried that if I read this art, I will run across hateful images or words that will shock or upset me
I'm worried that I will spend money on a work of art that then financially supports a bad person, and that thought makes me uncomfortable or upset
I'm worried that I will read works of art written by a bad person, and comment or react on them, and other people will see what I am reading and will think less of me because of it, or will assume that I hold the same bad beliefs as the author
I'm worried that I will read works of art written by a bad person, and I will enjoy them, and the author will find out about my enjoyment and feel emboldened to do bad things because of it
I'm worried that I will read works of art written by a bad person, and their badness will contaminate my way of thinking and make me a worse person in turn
Because these are all different answers and some of them are more actionable than others

the thing about killing jack drake in identity crisis is that it deprived us of the bruce and jack dynamic that makes tim miserable we deserved.
bruce doesn't know how to cook. jack also doesn't know how to cook. tim never wants to see a tuna fish sandwich again.
everytime bruce is too hard on tim, jack objects and says he should be easier on the boy. when bruce goes easier on him "you shouldn't be so soft on him."
bruce & jack argue over tim's future. bruce says he should be a detective. jack is adamant he should be an archeologist. tim would very much like to be excluded from this narrative.
"uh. listen to bruce" jack says. "uh. listen to your father" bruce says. tim doesn't want to listen to either of them.
how expensive are trips to paris again?
after bruce returns from the timestream he figures he may as well offer tim's jobless dad a job at the company side of batman inc. on account of he knows the secret. this job involves a lot of travel. now both of tim's dads are traveling 75% of the year. tim wonders why this keeps happening to him.
shit, he can't go to paris if bruce and jack are there.

Danny up and left amity when he turned 18. he couldn’t handle the stress anymore. The long nights, barely passing.
It was only in his last few months that he and the ghost made an agreement. Most of them just wanted to spar. Ember was content with an online music a career. He got box ghost in a factory packing boxes.
They all knew to avoid and stay away from his parents at this point.
Still. Skulker and others were just to much. So he Left for college without telling anyone where he went. Ended up graduating early with a degree in engineering.
He gets hired to work in space!! In the watchtower.
Everything was fine and normal. No ghost, no issues, and best of all no mad scientist bent on genocide.
Now. He wasn’t expecting to get to work to witness nightwing chasing Youngblood around. How did that man even see him.
Nor did he expect Youngblood jumping on his back and screaming at him to protect him from the bully. And ignoring him wouldn’t even work as Youngblood to called him by name.
Then Youngblood to scream at him for leaving without so much as a goodbye. For leaving them with his parents still around.
Maybe nightwing won’t say anything? Yea right.
Not with his Fenton luck.
