This Friday 28th April the pilot episode of Los Pacientes del Doctor García will be on Netflix, and on Thursday 26th episode 2 will be released
Episode 2: "Manuel"
The young diplomat Manuel Arroyo Benítez (Tamar Novas) works at the service of the Republic of Spain in London. Its mission: to favor the support of the democracies to the legitimate Government. There he is approached by a young American, Margaret 'Meg' Williams (Stephanie Cayo). Meg, very well connected, becomes his best ally and also his lover.
Manuel's efficiency awaits him a new destiny: to infiltrate besieged Madrid under a false identity to control the infighting on the Republican side. Meg and Manuel say goodbye thinking that they will never see each other again. In Madrid, Manuel dismantles an anti-government conspiracy. The fifth columnists who promote it attack him and abandon him.
Manuel recovers from his injuries at Guillermo's (Javier Rey) home. But Amparo (Verónica Echegui) doesn't trust Manuel and the feeling is mutual: they have good reasons.
In Portugalete, the Francoist soldier Adrián Gallardo (Jon Olivares) receives an unusual offer from his superior: to defend his battalion as a boxer in a crucial boxing match.

Sam Claflin BEST on screen couples
Or... Where i make a list (no ratings) with the actresses that i've seen Sam have more believable chemistry with and look cute on screen, even if I think that he so good that he could act romantically with a flowerpot...
But i digress.
I included here also some info about the actresses (ages and heights) Last one because Sam is 1'80 (centimeters) and I personally like couples with a taller man and a shorter woman (typical I know, but hey, the heart loves what the heart loves...)

I adore Verónica, I actually met her once in a restaurant with my family, she was super nice with us !
So i was greatly surprised to see her in a film with Sam. I love the Book of Love, it's super underrated, tbh. Their chemistry was on top and I liked their story too.

I like Lily a lot, and I found her and Sam really cute at the movie and the interviews too. The chemistry was so strong , I liked them.

I adore Gemma Arterton, especially at Byzantium and Their finest. Their chemistry in that film was off charts, they were like an old couple marriage bickering, but i loved them.

I like Stef as Annie, she was cute and delicate, perfect for that character. They were amazing, in fact one of my otps. For the few times that she appears on screen she ate and left no crumbs...And the chemistry was unmatched, I mean, have you seen their reunion at Mockingjay I??
And the wedding at Mockingjay II?? The looks at each other, the dance...

Contrary to other people in DJATS fandom, I did like them together a lot. I think they had chemistry, a Sweet calm one, like the familiarity of a longtime couple, like highschool sweethearts. I loved them, tbh. The wedding was super cute!! You can ship what you want, but be objective , I mean...

I love Riley, I love Sam, they were amazing together, their chemistry was magical, perfect, unmatched.
Their voices together were awesome , and they looked hot and cute too. Their kisses were spectacular. The Episode 10 (concert and backtage) was 🔥. I loved them ❤️. Their nominations were very deserved (they were very robbed 😡).
Also Riley and Sam on the videos and interviews are so chaotic besties , especially the TikTok... Toktik video and the cocktail or band interview ones were just XD.

"Objetos"
Mario trabaja en un gran almacén de objetos perdidos donde custodia todo tipo de enseres acumulados durante décadas. Hace tiempo que decidió apartarse de las personas e invierte su tiempo libre en investigar la procedencia de los objetos para devolver a sus dueños pedazos perdidos de sus vidas.
Tan sólo Helena, una joven policía que visita el almacén con frecuencia, ha podido traspasar levemente su coraza. Un día llega al almacén una maleta rescatada del fondo del río. Dentro, encuentra ropa de bebé junto a unos restos humanos.
Mario decide investigar por su cuenta y siguiendo el rastro de la maleta llega hasta Sara, una joven atrapada desde niña en una organización de tráfico de personas. Una red que trata a las personas como si fueran objetos.
Segundo largometraje de cine de Jorge Dorado, que sorprendió con "Mindscape", por la que obtuvo una nominación al Goya al mejor director novel. Tras pasar mucho tiempo con capítulos de series como "El ministerio del tiempo", está al frente de un largometraje “noir” que aborda el sórdido mundo del proxenetismo, regido por turbios tipejos que tratan a las personas como si fueran esos objetos aludidos en el título.
El film logra atrapar desde el principio, con una trama que dosifica bien el suspense, y llena de originalidad, aunque se hagan referencias a títulos como "Taxi Driver", con un personaje central parecido al legendario Travis Bickle, tan peculiar que está condenado a la soledad.
Se luce como protagonista Álvaro Morte, que consigue dar vida a un antihéroe lleno de personalidad. Le acompañan actores solventes españoles, como Verónica Echegui y argentinos (se trata de una coproducción) como el expresivo Daniel Aráoz, que compone a un malvado memorable, y China Suárez, una mujer atrapada en la prostitución. Una pena que en el desenlace se acuse la falta de medios, y algún agujero de guión.
El mensaje es muy claro: las personas no somos mercancía y tenemos derecho a tener una segunda oportunidad en la vida, aunque hayamos tomado malas decisiones en el pasado. La cuestión es que para llegar hasta ahí tenemos que dar saltos de fe demasiado exigentes que no habrían hecho falta de ningún modo.
Película algo lenta y susurrada, vale la pena verla 🆗

Synopsis – Episode 1:
Madrid, November 1936. Guillermo García (Javier Rey), a young progressive doctor at the service of the Republic, hides in his house his neighbor, the Falangist Amparo Priego (Verónica Echegui). The young woman is not only looking for security at Guillermo's home. Both were inseparable in their childhood and she wants to rekindle as adults an intimacy that was cut short at puberty.
One year later, an individual is shot after being thrown from a moving car. The man is Manuel Arroyo (Tamar Novas), a member of the General Directorate of Security of the Republic. Guillermo attends to the wounded man and, to avoid being finished off, assigns him the identity of a deceased and installs him in his house. The coexistence between the three will forever alter their lives.
Los Pacientes del Doctor García takes place over forty years in which great political and social changes take place, both in Spain and in Europe. And an added challenge for actors, art teams, makeup and directors when it comes to portraying places and times that appear in the novel.
“My intention was to be faithful to the spirit of the text, not to the letter. In other words, transferring the characters, the plot and the tone of the novel to television in a trustworthy manner, out of respect for the author and her readers, bearing in mind that I was writing the basis of an audiovisual product, not a carbon copy of the literary work”, says its screenwriter, José Luis Martín
“Adapting Almudena Grandes' novel for television has been a challenge, a gift and a wonderful journey at the same time. Throughout the process, being faithful to the novel has been paramount for us; reflect as accurately as possible, within the logical change of language, both the characters, with their experiences, their emotions, their anxieties... as well as an entire era, which has also been crucial in our history as a country", says the director Joan Noguera, on the challenge of leading this series.
