Gus Week Day 3 - Friends/Graveyard

sorry it's a day late lmao

Inspired by don't want the night to pass me by by @sapphic--kiwi and this art by @venciel :)

CW: this one is about kissink in a friends with (strictly only kissing) benefits sort of way. There's no descriptors of making out or anything like that though.

Gus watched the back of Matt’s head carefully. They were headed towards the Graveyard, their normal Saturday morning routine despite the fact they’d finished cleaning the place up ages ago. Now they just went to hangout. Although things were easy between the two of them, there was still a tenseness in the air that had been lingering since the last time they’d caught a moment alone, a few days prior after one of Matt’s grudgby games.

It’d only been a few weeks since Matt’s birthday, when Gus had finally confessed and kissed Matt for the first time. They weren’t boyfriends, but they were decidedly more than friends. Which meant they tried to be covert about their newfound kissing benefits.

Gus thought back to the grudgby game, pulling Matt beneath the bleachers for a celebratory kiss before he had to chase after his team in the boys’ locker room. His cheeks flushed slightly, and he blinked, remembering he was technically completely alone with Matt in the graveyard.

Matt had been teasing him all morning, since he’d shown up at Gus’s door and all through the breakfast Gus’s dad had made for them both. Verbal teasing like, “Augustus, aren’t you gonna finish those griffin eggs?” with waggling eyebrows and that terrible shit-eating grin. Then there was the physical teasing. The playful kicks to his shin beneath the table, fingers brushing over his ribs on the walk over, shoving him away when Gus gawked at him with red cheeks and flittering ears.

Gus decided he’d had enough of this game of cat and mouse, and reached forward to grab Matt by the waist and tug him closer. “Come here, you asshole!”

Matt’s eyes widened, and Gus grinned at finally getting the upper hand this morning. He leaned close, so that his breath was warm on Matt’s lips. He stared into Matt’s eyes, letting the tension build.

“I don’t think friends do this, Augustus,” Matt murmured, a smile on his lips, his eyes dipped downwards, focused somewhere below Gus’s nose. He’d said something similar nearly each time they’d kissed, because it was humorous. The irony wasn’t lost on Gus, despite being not ready for a relationship. In the back of his mind somewhere he knew to everyone else they already looked like a couple. But there was something far safer about having a friend he got to kiss occasionally versus having a boyfriend.

“I know,” Gus smiled back before closing the last little bit of distance between them.

thought about how peni parker went through her canon event losing almost everyone around her but the thought of one day seeing the friends she made, albeit far far away, she carries on for that slim chance to happen again.

and when she finally did? she couldn't see the one person who she developed a connection to when she couldn't find a way home. miles misses all of them- misses her, they all helped him pave his path to becoming who he is and yet their reunion was ever too short.

a bit of backstory: so, i started multiplayer playthrough with @teenageukulelescreamo, and they wanted to romance astarion and i wanted to romance either gale or wyll

one day, i had wyll in the party, and it sparked banter between astarion and wyll when we were out adventuring, they started bickering? which was so funny that my brain started thinking "lmao what if they kissed" and now here i am

Wyll Ravengard - The Witcher AU

Sorry I didn’t keep his eye entirely gold! I wanted to make it still look as close to canon Wyll as possible but still apply some AU changes, hope this rendition is okay!

I’ve been regularly checking the bloodpact/wyllstarion tag on AO3 excessively; pretty sure I’ve read every fic it has to offer LOL

I have a couple more fan art I’m drawing for the fics I’ve read, they deserve a lot of love and attention (and I’m not the best at conveying it in words) so the best I could do is draw something for it :)
