People need to understand, the focus on individuals doing things to stop climate change is only problematic when it’s companies pushing that idea to distract from the fact that they’re the bigger polluters.
We need to to try and minimise our impact, especially if you’re in a higher emissions nation. In a similar vein, buying eco friendly, vegan and fair trade things are important too.
If you can see how donating helps a cause, then surely you can see how giving money to an unethical company hurts a cause right?

i think a lot of people mistake vegans for believing themselves to be "morally superior" rather than the actual, and very reasonable stance that IF YOU HAVE THE OPTION NOT TO KILL OTHER LIVING BEINGS, YOU SHOULDN'T DO IT.
most of us can understand that it's stupid to wield "oh so you think you're morally superior" against any type of human or environmental rights activists because how do you even respond to that? sure? Because its NOT ABOUT MORAL SUPERIORITY. IT'S ABOUT NOT UNNECESARILY CAUSING HARM.
Also, an activist could be the most annoying, self righteous person on the entire planet, but their stances having NOTHING to do with that. An asshole saying "trans rights" doesn't mean you shouldn't support trans rights because an asshole said it.
PLEASE start looking at veganism like you look at any other form of activism and resistance, and consider what disinformation and propaganda you've been fed about it.

I feel like a very important part of one's journey to veganism is realising that it is not really about you. All the animals you've never seen deserve to live. The lives of all the ones that have inconvenienced you are important just like ours. The animals you're afraid of or disgusted by don't deserve to die.
We are not the ones who decide whose life is worth living, non-human or human. We aren't here to decide others' purposes or meanings.
We should all realise, know and remember that.

I think many of us agree that most health vegans are not, in fact, vegan. They’re plant based dieters who are typically fine with exploiting animals for clothing and beauty products
But I think most health vegans aren’t actually healthy, either. Specifically, the average diet of a “health vegan” often has far too little of some necessary nutrients, and far too much of others
Plant based dieters will brag about how wonderful their high protein diet is… then you find out they weight 125 lbs and eat 200g of protein per day
They swear that their sugar free diet tastes just as good, when that doesn’t even matter. Nobody can thrive on a sugar free diet, because we need sugar to live. Same with fat and carbs
They’ll take random supplements and drink “tummy tea” that gives them the runs and depletes their bodies of needed vitamins and at the same time tell you that one teaspoon of oil used to roast your veggies is going to give you a heart attack
“Health vegans” don’t care about their health or the animals. They care about being skinny. That’s it. It’s all “1200 cal a day, NO fat, NO sugar, NO carbs, so much fucking protein I’ll kill my kidneys with it, and if my hair falls out from the lack of nutrition so be it.” How is that about being healthy?

Soooooo, I may have seen something that bee post with like a million notes. I suddenly can't find it, but if you haven't seen it, it basically amounted to "vegans can eat honey. it doesn't hurt the bees. They actually prefer it. They make too much and it means a giant ape protects them from predators and the elements. It's a win win. They could leave at any point but they don't unless their beekeeper is doing a bad job taking care of them. Them staying the closest thing to consent for use of an animal product as you can get."
Obviously, big companies still do things that we shouldn't ignore, but local bee keepers and hobby beekeepers often treat their 20,000-80,000 little pets very well. (Obviously, you should still judge on an individual basis)
Anyway, I may have spent an hour and a half making this:

It's supposed to be a Twitter header kinda thing. Feel free to use it! (Let me know if you do? You don't have to, I just like knowing when people like my art :)

The revolution is staring now.
It starts as we vote in people who implement UBI’s. As we form effective political parties that care about us and get them into power.
As we build walkable communities and invest in disability support that doesn’t turn anyone away.
As we invest in industries that help the environment and boycott the ones that don’t.
As we advocate for right to repair and buy secondhand.
As we build communities and learn about mutual aid.
As we invest in education and eliminate poverty and teach the next generation that we’re all people and we all deserve rights.
The revolution starts in all of our hearts.
The revolution starts in all of our actions.
The revolution starts in kindness and the revolution starts now.

Hey in case you didn't know, domesticated turkeys can live up to ten years but when they are raised for meat they are typically killed by six months old. They don't get to live even a tenth of their lifespan. Just for humans who could eat something plant-based instead. When you buy turkey meat, you are directly contributing to this.

It's interesting how many of those who care about how non-human animals are talked about don't do it for the animals themselves.
In their eyes, the aggressive word choices could hurt the perceived owners of these animals.
Obviously, most non-human animals do not understand the words we are using or how their meaning subtly differs from others. Some of them do hear the possible aggression of the voices speaking or associate certain tones or words with actions.
This does not mean they understand the meaning of these words. You could teach a dog that it means going outside when you say the word "sofa", and they could start wagging their tails when you call them stupid, if you do it with the right tone.
But the reality is, that how we as humans talk about animals does affect the way we see them. If non-human animals are "them" or "it", they are easier to objectify than if, when talking about all animals, we include ourselves and do not assign the animals the pronoun typically given to objects, or if they are seen as the property of people, something to be "owned".
Of course the effect isn't 1:1. If I call the leopard gecko I care for stupid affectionately once, I won't start thinking that they were, as a species, unintelligent.
But when we stop for a moment and examine all the moments where we actually, even if often unknowingly, make a decision about how we describe non-human animals and our relationship to them, we begin to see how often that happens.
In personal use, our words can shape our own personal views of non-human animals differently, depending on the (moral) value we give these words. Someone who sees ugliness as a moral failing or a justification to make their lives harder or even to deny their inherent worth and right to live than someone who sees it as neutral or even adorable.
The objectification of non-human animals is a quite obvious issue in our daily lives, even if invisible to many.

You know, we see it when y’all reblog an anti-vegan post that’s been debunked thousands of times that you have then cut off the debunking from
“Killing animals at a tiny fraction of their lifespan years before they’ll ever reach old age is good actually” has been so thoroughly debunked. Yet y’all are ignoring that, not even trying to come up with new arguments, you just go through the post to only reblog the original “dying before adulthood good” bullshit
I guess maybe, if you really feel bad about addressing the horrors of animal agriculture, just ignore that shit instead of trying to defend it? You’ve seen why it’s not actually beneficial to the animals to die super young, maybe just move on instead of digging your heels in about it
