From the diary of Mary Chipman Lawrence, who accompanied her husband Captain Samuel Lawrence on the whaler Addison, 1856-60. Her young daughter Minnie was with her as well, and on July 18th 1859 it was her birthday and they celebrated it on board:
This is Minnie’s birthday—eight years old. I told her a month ago that when it was her birthday, I would make a treat for her in the evening and she might invite all the officers to partake with her. So she has ever since been looking forward to it as a great event. Saturday I made preparation, and I was fortunate in doing so, for I suffered exceedingly Sunday night and for the greater part of this day with a gathering at the roots of my tooth. I was able to get up, however, and prepare the treat for her. We set the table and called the officers down about half-past 7 P.M. Minnie was so happy she hardly knew what to do with herself, and I think we all enjoyed it pretty well. The officers all united in saying that they had not sat down to such a table since they left home. The treat consisted of a plate of sister Celia’s fruitcake, two loaves of cupcake frosted, two plates of currant jelly tarts, and a dish of preserved pineapple, also hot coffee, good and strong, with plenty of milk and white sugar. After we had finished there was ample supply left, which was sent into the steerage for boatsteerers, etc. Minnie arose this morning about four o’clock to look at her presents. She had a box of little notions, a book, and a pocket handkerchief from Mrs. Brayton; a pair of china vases from Mary White; two packages of paper dolls, a book, and a package of drawing cards from Helen Whitney; an ivory shuttle and a half dollar from her papa; and a bottle of cologne, a toothbrush, and a quarter of a dollar from her mamma. Not of much value, but they were all very pleasing to her.

Whumpril 3: Shame
This one was very rushed and features a Whumpee who was passed from one Whumper to the next. I might edit it later.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry!” they sobbed, backing into a wall, their hands wrapped around their head to protect it from any blows that might come their way.
The Whumper stood and looked disapprovingly at the scene before them. A broken vase on a freshly mopped floor, the flowers crooked and bent from the fall, “What are you waiting for? Clean it up.” they snapped, stepping over the vase and trembling Whumpee.
The Whumpee nodded heavily and began to pick up the flowers.
“No!” the Whumper stomped their foot, and the Whumpee dropped the stems. “You don't deserve to touch the beautiful flowers, use gloves and put them in your quarters.”
The Whumpee nodded and pulled out a pair of thick rubber gloves, they were hard to work with, but those were the only ones they had. They mopped the floor with a rag and collected the pieces of the vase.
“Bring the broken parts of the vase too.” The Whumper commanded.
Whumpee nodded and scooped the fragments and flowers into their arms, they stood, bowed to the Whumper, and scuttled out of the room.
They reached their quarters, a small, dark, jail-like cell, with only the light from the hallway to guide their way. They delicately placed the broken stoneware on a rickety table and propped up the flowers in it. The petals and stems drooped, held down by the Whumpee’s mistakes. The Whumpee did their best to lift the flowers, but it didn’t work, nothing worked. They went back into the house to clean some more.
When they returned, the Whumper stood outside of their room, calmly reading a book. They tried to turn their gaze down, but the Whumper forced them to look into their eyes. “Take off your shoes.”
The Whumpee let out a breath, one that almost formed into a “Why?” but they knew better. Stupid Whumpee, they knew better. They leaned against the wall for support and pulled off their shoes.
“And socks.”
The Whumpee took off their socks, folding them neatly in the shoes and stepping onto the cold cement floor. They looked at the Whumper, expectantly.
The Whumper quirked a brow, “What?”
The Whumpee looked down, nervously wringing their hands. “I’m sorry, I don’t know what you need.”
The Whumper rolled their eyes, “Just go to bed.”
The Whumpee shortly bowed, “Thank you,” and went into the room. They stopped a few inches from the door. A small, confused hum escaping their lips.
“Don’t clean up anything.” The Whumper sneered as they closed the door.
The Whumpee flinched when the door slammed shut, their shoulders tensing, they expected the touch of their previous Whumper to trace their shoulders, but thankfully, they only felt their currant Whumpers eyes on their back. The Whumpee took a step forward, then another, then… A sharp pain shot up their leg, they knew this pain, it was glass. Their breathing became heavier, their eyes widened. They looked back at the Whumper.
“Keep going.”
The Whumpee gulped and set their foot down, the glass sinking deeper into their flesh with each second. They winced as they shifted their weight to take yet another step, and another, and another. The small room seemed to become longer with each painful step after agonizing step. The Whumpee put their hand against the wall and felt for their bed. Well, it was less of a bed and more of a pile of rags they collected during their stay here. They collapsed on it, moving into a criss-cross position. They couldn’t see much in the room besides the little bit of light from the door, but from the glimmers on the ground, they found that the glass was shaped to be like a flower, the same flower from the vase. This Whumper was certainly more creative than the last. They looked up and met the Whumper's eyes.
The Whumper sneered, “Don’t break anything again.” and turned off the light, leaving the Whumpee in the dark in a room of hazards.

July
July is the peak of summer. A bright, fragrant and blooming time. The month when nature plays with colors and bestows fruits on us.
In the July still life, I filled the space as much as possible to show the fullness of the month with life. I decided not to put all this blooming variety of plants in a vase or basket, as I originally wanted, but placed it around the center. This creates a kind of circle that conveys movement and harmony here. Everything around blooms, grows and lives. This lush frame brings our gaze to the center of the composition, where we see the real gifts of summer! I specially filled the plate with a heap and sprinkled berries around it to show how generously nature treats us this month.
I collected flowers mainly in red and yellow shades. It is these colors that will be able to convey the hot weather of the month and its sugary aroma. Well, lilies and tansy themselves have a bright and very heavy smell, you can’t do without them. She also collected herbs that were as fragrant as possible, such as dill and wormwood. July is by far the most berry month and I collected everything I could find here: three types of currants, gooseberries, raspberries and cherries.
The result was such a curly riot of colors & sweet aromas.

Since I was a young girl, I never adored roses, no… orchids, the lotus flower and lilies always sparked my fire. My first memories were of blue lotuses carved on ancient Egyptian walls, Lilies at Easter time on the kitchen table in huge vases, and Orchids, in my hair, plus on the window seal and in my heart.

Can I get some headcanons on Cal, Lucy, Jose, & Eis?
Here they are!
Cal Suresh: Before he learned to play chess, Cal focused on playing other board games when he was a teen. But at soon as he reached adulthood, Cal grew interested in chess. He still wouldn't mind playing other board games as well. Whenever Cal teaches youngsters how to play chess, it brings back memories of him when he started learning how to play.
Lucy Wong: In school, Lucy didn't just paint. She also made pottery as well. She once made a tea set and painted the teapot and teacups blue and white. She also made a really pretty vase that was also blue and white. Though she's no longer interested in pottery making, she still keeps the tea set and vase that she made. After she left the theater, she had recently started crocheting.
Jose Gallard: Though we only see Jose plant just corn in his farm, I like to believe that he grows other vegetables like carrots, tomatoes, eggplants, radishes and cabbage. He would also grow fruit like strawberries, blueberries, currants, grapes and blackberries. His farm has fruit trees that grow fruits like apples, pears, plums, oranges, and mangoes. Jose even created his own fertilizer to help his crops grow.
Eis Glover: Due to being a firefighter, Eis takes a bunch of precautions in his own home before he leaves for work. He makes sure that the stove, heater, or anything that produces heat is turned off. He also checks on his smoke alarms every month in order to see if they either work or if they're in need of new batteries. Eis never keeps candles in the house. Which is why you'll never find matchsticks or lighters around.

But the good news is, in most cases dengue fever gets better with home remedies. Along with the medicine, drink plenty of water and fluids. For example, lemon juice, sour fruits and fruit juices, green coconuts water should be consumed. Get enough rest. Eat foods that increase blood platelets like almonds, yogurt (sour or sweet yogurt), green tea, broccoli, spinach, currants, pineapples, etc.
#To get a cure from Dengue: To prevent the spread of Aedes mosquitoes, water should not be allowed to accumulate around the house and the surroundings of the house should be kept clean as much as possible. Flower plant tubs, vases, water accumulated in abandoned car tires, water accumulated in AC, should be cleaned regularly. Discard unused tin or plastic containers and cans.

 Sweet dishes are very taste, saturating and nourishing, and their's  using for all diets, and especially these are of fruits fresh, berries. Sour kinds are berries, fruits using for diets nr 9, sugar changes on sorbitol or xylitol or stevia., diets nr 1
Compotes.
Compotes of apples 1,2,4,5,7,9,10,15
Fresh apples wash, clean, free from seeds, chop, add water, with lemon acid soured.And  peel with middle parts adding in hot water, add cinnamon, boil 15 min, filter, add sugar, cook 8 min in weak boiling. For aromatization, apply lemon peel, or orange. Serve compote cooled, for nr 9 sugar changes on stevia or xylitol.
Cherry compote, diets nr 1,2,5,7,9,10,15
Cherry, sweet cherry wash, cleaned from stones,  stalks, sugar dilutes in hot water, remove foams. In syrup put ready apples, lead till boiling and cooling, for nr 9 cook sugar-free, or of stevia.
Compote of melting fruits, nr 5, 7,9,10,15
Wash fruits in warm water on 40C, and melting at room, big fruits chop on pieces, whole berries keeping. Fruits  put in vases or glasses, in juice of fruits of melting adding sugar, waterm lead till boiling, cool till 70 C. Ready syrup aromatizes with lemon peel, or orange, lead till taste with lemon acid, add in fruits, infuse till a full syrup cooling.
Jellied sweet dishes.
Kisel of cranberry , diets nr 2,7,9,10,15
Washed berries knead in not oxidizing dish, with wood chopped , dilute a boiled water and press juice, which infuse in cold.  Chopped mass add in water, boil 6 min, filter, add sugar, lead trill boiling, add starch , turn off fire and enter in pressed juice. Ready kisel knead in portion dish and sprinkle sugar, thick kisel serve with pasteurized or boiled milk, and same cook kisels of black and red currant.
Apricots kisel, 2,5,7,10
Apricots wash, add hot water, cleaned from stones before, cook 6 min, after rub theirs with infusion, add sugar, warm till boiling, add diluted starch, and again lead till boiling, ready kisel add in glases and sugar sprinkle.
Jelly of rice infusion  and acorn coffee, diets nr 4.
10 gr of coffee acorn for portion add in hot water, lead till boiling, infuse 30 min, and filter. And in boiling water add rice, cook till a full cooking and filtering. In rice infusion add sugar, infusion of acorn coffee, lead till boiling, add gelatine wetted, filter, add in forms and cold. Serve before form put in warm water and apply jelly on dessert spoon.
Tea jelly, diet nr 4.
Fresh sweet tea cooked add in diluted gelatine, add in forms, cold, in tea jelly you can add lemon juice.
Jelly of dried blueberry, diets nr 2,4
Selected,washed blueberry add in cold water, infuse 2 hours, after cook 20 min in weak boiling, ready infusion filter, dilute sugar in her, add wetted gelatine, and lead till boiling, after add in forms and cold.
Mousse apple of manna.Diets nr 2,5,7,10,15
Clean apples from middle, chop, cook in water, after rub apples with infusion, add sugar, hot water till norm and lead till boiling.After add manna and cook 20 min, cool mass till 30C, shake till thick foam mass, which add-in forms, and cold. Serve with berry syrup.
Plums of sambuc, diets nr 1,2,5,7,9,10,15
Plums wash, cut on halves, clean from stones, add hot water and cook 15 min, ready plums rub, add sugar, cold, add egg white, shake on cold till lush mass receiving ,after adding diluting gelatine and mix.  Ready mass add in forms, cold. Serve with syrup, for diet sugar-free cook, or of stevia.
Fromage cream, diet nr 2,1,5,7,10,15
Fromage colds, shake, and in mixing adding in her egg-milk mass, diluted gelatine, and vanilla, after add in forms and cold, serve with berry syrup.
Sour milk cream , diets for 2,7,10
Yolk rub with sugar, add wetted gelatine, dilute a hot milk, and mixing warming till gelatine diluting, filter mass add chopped cinnamon, fromage with sour milk one to one shake in foam, and slowly adding egg0gelatine mixture, mixing and cooling.
Rice cream, nr 1,2,5,7,10
Egg-milk mixture warms with sugar and wetting gelatine, mix good, filter. In shaken creams  slowly adding egg- milk  mass with gelatine, rice cook in water till half ready, after in milk, for diets nr 1,2 are rubing .Ready rice add with cream, mix good, add in forms and colds.

some more mehdepulan food. wanted to see how i can make average foods look more alien. different types of milks have stronger mineral contents, and these minerals become more concentrated in things like cream, butter, and cheese. i also remade modern mehdepulan cups to look like those in the region’s ancient times

 Sweet dishes are very taste, saturating and nourishing, and their's  using for all diets, and especially these are of fruits fresh, berries. Sour kinds are berries, fruits using for diets nr 9, sugar changes on sorbitol or xylitol or stevia., diets nr 1
Compotes.
Compotes of apples 1,2,4,5,7,9,10,15
Fresh apples wash, clean, free from seeds, chop, add water, with lemon acid soured.And  peel with middle parts adding in hot water, add cinnamon, boil 15 min, filter, add sugar, cook 8 min in weak boiling. For aromatization, apply lemon peel, or orange. Serve compote cooled, for nr 9 sugar changes on stevia or xylitol.
Cherry compote, diets nr 1,2,5,7,9,10,15
Cherry, sweet cherry wash, cleaned from stones,  stalks, sugar dilutes in hot water, remove foams. In syrup put ready apples, lead till boiling and cooling, for nr 9 cook sugar-free, or of stevia.
Compote of melting fruits, nr 5, 7,9,10,15
Wash fruits in warm water on 40C, and melting at room, big fruits chop on pieces, whole berries keeping. Fruits  put in vases or glasses, in juice of fruits of melting adding sugar, waterm lead till boiling, cool till 70 C. Ready syrup aromatizes with lemon peel, or orange, lead till taste with lemon acid, add in fruits, infuse till a full syrup cooling.
Jellied sweet dishes.
Kisel of cranberry , diets nr 2,7,9,10,15
Washed berries knead in not oxidizing dish, with wood chopped , dilute a boiled water and press juice, which infuse in cold.  Chopped mass add in water, boil 6 min, filter, add sugar, lead trill boiling, add starch , turn off fire and enter in pressed juice. Ready kisel knead in portion dish and sprinkle sugar, thick kisel serve with pasteurized or boiled milk, and same cook kisels of black and red currant.
Apricots kisel, 2,5,7,10
Apricots wash, add hot water, cleaned from stones before, cook 6 min, after rub theirs with infusion, add sugar, warm till boiling, add diluted starch, and again lead till boiling, ready kisel add in glases and sugar sprinkle.
Jelly of rice infusion  and acorn coffee, diets nr 4.
10 gr of coffee acorn for portion add in hot water, lead till boiling, infuse 30 min, and filter. And in boiling water add rice, cook till a full cooking and filtering. In rice infusion add sugar, infusion of acorn coffee, lead till boiling, add gelatine wetted, filter, add in forms and cold. Serve before form put in warm water and apply jelly on dessert spoon.
Tea jelly, diet nr 4.
Fresh sweet tea cooked add in diluted gelatine, add in forms, cold, in tea jelly you can add lemon juice.
Jelly of dried blueberry, diets nr 2,4
Selected,washed blueberry add in cold water, infuse 2 hours, after cook 20 min in weak boiling, ready infusion filter, dilute sugar in her, add wetted gelatine, and lead till boiling, after add in forms and cold.
Mousse apple of manna.Diets nr 2,5,7,10,15
Clean apples from middle, chop, cook in water, after rub apples with infusion, add sugar, hot water till norm and lead till boiling.After add manna and cook 20 min, cool mass till 30C, shake till thick foam mass, which add-in forms, and cold. Serve with berry syrup.
Plums of sambuc, diets nr 1,2,5,7,9,10,15
Plums wash, cut on halves, clean from stones, add hot water and cook 15 min, ready plums rub, add sugar, cold, add egg white, shake on cold till lush mass receiving ,after adding diluting gelatine and mix.  Ready mass add in forms, cold. Serve with syrup, for diet sugar-free cook, or of stevia.
Fromage cream, diet nr 2,1,5,7,10,15
Fromage colds, shake, and in mixing adding in her egg-milk mass, diluted gelatine, and vanilla, after add in forms and cold, serve with berry syrup.
Sour milk cream , diets for 2,7,10
Yolk rub with sugar, add wetted gelatine, dilute a hot milk, and mixing warming till gelatine diluting, filter mass add chopped cinnamon, fromage with sour milk one to one shake in foam, and slowly adding egg0gelatine mixture, mixing and cooling.
Rice cream, nr 1,2,5,7,10
Egg-milk mixture warms with sugar and wetting gelatine, mix good, filter. In shaken creams  slowly adding egg- milk  mass with gelatine, rice cook in water till half ready, after in milk, for diets nr 1,2 are rubing .Ready rice add with cream, mix good, add in forms and colds.
