I had snuck away from my elderly mother on our way to a concert and I had ran to a dodgy tech shop that sold vapes. Just then my deputy principal from secondary school comes out of the shop. He says to me, “I am so disappointed that you would be buying vapes from a place like this, seriously get some standards.” A group of old ladies appeared beside me and pointed to a firefighting helicopter in the sky but it was on fire and the one of the old ladies screamed, “Look away! It is not for us to see!”

i feel like maybe anti-vaping PSAs might be better if they focused less on the health risks (which may be real but the lack of long term studies/easily viewable evidence like lung cancer make it less convincing than anti smoking ads) and more on just straight up saying without fancy hip/cool graphics "this is an addicting product. these companies want you to start doing this addicting product, because if you do you might be stuck giving some CEOs $100 per month. does it have negative health effects? i mean probs but the studies arent out yet. defo has negative wallet effects though!"

This is one of the main reasons I take a peek in bins.
I've been taking discarded batteries (so so many!) and maybe 6 vape pens now for my carer to take to the special lithium battery recycle point at the grocery store once a month.
This one was beside the road, smashed open and I only got one photo because it was bubbling juice at the base and making an acetone/pear drops smell. When I snipped off the wires to remove any electric current to the heating element, the nasty thing sparked at me. The battery has been quarantined. You are looking at a trash cheapy battery: no safety measures, terrible caps, barely contained. You'd have to use special tools to get into your usual AAA power cell, this shoddy thing is falling apart on its own. They're available for sale everywhere until this year's forest fires get traced back to one and the EU starts banning anything but properly designed single use batteries in e-cigs.
If you vape or know anyone who does, please don't throw those cutesy plastic looking devices in the bin, they contain tiny but potent incendiary devices that won't keep well at the landfill.
If you toss them by the roadside, dude, duuuude: it's a heating device with a still fully charged battery and a hair trigger (air pressure) to power it on. They're pyrophoric when the chemicals inside are exposed to the elements: that could be a car wheel, a trash compactor or time + weather.
(They also use a rechargeable battery instead of disposable ones - your local electronics hobbyist will thank you for the gift of your trash)

DO NOT BUY FAKE THC/DELTA 8 VAPES IN ILLEGAL STATES

Ok so basically I don't live in a legal state and I did the big stupid, which is vape the delta 8s and whatever else they had. I will explain why this is stupid.
Those vapes sold in illegal states like mine are faaaaar more likely to have harmful additives like vitamin e (good for you skin, not your lungs) and other random shit who knows.
Now I did not realize just how harmful they are until about a week ago when I did a little more research.
I've been vaping those little shits on and off for about 2-3 years, so I hope I don't develop some crazy disease.
Popcorn lung is more likely if you vape nicotine (I did a little but not really on a regular basis) and EVALI is more likely if you vape the FAKE thc/delta 8 carts and disposables.
All that being said vaping in general is not really good for you, but if you vape, PLEASE make sure you buy from legal states!!! Please don't be a stinky idiot like me!!!
A good way to tell if your disposable is safer, you can check their website, batch number, serial number, ingredients, all that jazz.
If you live in an illegal state, there are NO outlets you can buy genuine vapes, so unless you got a plug you trust, don't buy thc delta vapes anywhere.

Ok here's the actual tmi storytime before I got carried away
So like yeah I feel ok, but I do feel like my lungs have this little layer. What I'm so scared of is what if I'm old and I finally figured out how to enjoy life and not be a whiny little bitch, but then thats when I'll have cancer. Like it'll just come out of nowhere as soon as I find out how to be happy with myself and my life and the world.
I mean my grandpa hasn't smoked since I was born and he got diagnosed with lung cancer a few weeks ago
So yeah that would be so funny if I died as soon as I didn't want to die
Ok the other thing is that, with my lungs feeling odd, there is a glimmer of hope. Exercise really might be the answer. If you or a loved one did those vapes, exercise is the most likely way from my experience to clear everything out.
My bf was really cheefing those vapes more than I did, but he also exercised more than I did. And he reports no symptoms, I don't hear any either...
And whenever I exercise, I feel like im loosening up that "film" and yeah. I'm gonna be smoke free once I start my next semester, and a nice 4-6 month period of exercise and cleanliness should help my lungs clean up.
Long story short. No buy trippy vapes if you do not live in a legal state. If consumed, exercise, hydration, nutrition, and breathing exercises are vital for maximum chance of survival

I find it funny that as we legalize weed for anyone 18 and older states are making it illegal for 18 year olds to even buy a vape cartridge unless they are 21 and they taste like shit.
As they make it illegal to sell "flavored cigarettes/vapes" they are cool with Cake Batter flavored Vodka.

Vaping has recently became a problem in my country even among kids as young as those in primary school. I thought that to be exceptional because back in my time virtually nobody started smoking before junior high but it turned out that in mid 1970s smoking was started on average at the age of 10 and by the age of 15 over 60% of the youth smoked. That is absolutely terrifying and thankfully the percentage of smoking among young people is much lower these days but it just goes to show how you lack perspective on things when you're young; kids' smoking is no new thing, it just wasn't that common for a while (I wish it would have stayed that way though because smoking is far more harmful to kids than it is to adults, and it is estimated that over 8 million people die every year because of it)
