Devin's Dude Ranch - Contestant Announcement

I am excited to announce the 5 contestants that will be competing for Devin's heart during her upcoming bachelorette challenge!

These cowboys will move into Devin's ranch house and vie for her heart over 5 6 weeks in the hopes of being the last man standing. The winner will have to survive weekly challenges, group dates, public opinion, and four heart-wrenching eliminations. Most importantly, they will have to forge a connection with Devin that proves they're "the one"!

i'm gonna try not to bring up madoka too much while watching utena because i know there's like... a rep there. but like im 6 episodes into utena and i understand i don't have the full picture yet but how on earth do people think these shows are similar enough to warrant "madoka is misogynistic garbage, go watch utena, it's basically the same but better"

#like ive rambled abt ppl calling madoka problematic before i wont rehash that rn #but like........ what exactly do these shows have in common besides purple/pink uncanny valley toxic yuri #its not even the same flavor of toxic yuri #from what im seeing utena is a story about agency and power imbalances #like. i guess they both have broken systems? but those systems also seem to work differently #the end of the world seems more cultish while kyubeys magical girls can be more closely compared to military recruiting #like... idk im getting the vibe that these ppl claiming that madoka is god awful and utena is The Good Show havent really processed either #and just dumbed both of them down to general tropes like. oh pink/purple yuri! oh horror tropes!#theyre not even from the same genre. rgu is a shoujo anime while pmmm is a magical girl anime #like. i know theres some rgu influence in pmmm but from what i know that seems to be the extent of it. influence #like. are you telling me every single deconstructive show containing yuri is similar to one another...#who's participating in fandom misogyny again?#echoed voice

I feel like some farming sims (rpg) are missing the generational aspect of their game. Its so untapped to have a kid raise them and have them contuine working on the farm. It what makes the sims so popular you can have an entire generation in one game.

Down side is I understand why they don't.

First off you couldn't have a big cast. An if you did you'd have make them very felixable. You could probably get away with have the first set have a story/detailed background.

Two, character couldnt be design too uniquely. You'd probably wanna do a randomizer for the npcs.

An lets say the kids do grow up and the parents die etc. Who are they gonna romance. Their would be so much shit that would have to go into it. An most farming sim game are made by an indie group not like a sims 4 team. Harvest moon has to be the birth father of raising your kids and you getting old and what you do matters.

I just wish more games did that. Its a niche no one is fufilling not even harvest moon anymore. I think the closes im seeing is the game Echoes of Plum grove

“So… how do you go about making a character?”

“Depends on the campaign.” Python pauses for a minute to steer through a couple more obstacles in his game. “Since it’s your first time, I say just pick shit that sounds cool and call it done. Like it’s a character creator in a video game.”

Lukas frowns. “I don’t think I’ve played a game like that.”

Python pauses his game. “You haven’t played a game with… character creation? Ever? That can’t be possible.”

“Not that I remember, no.”

“Never played a Pokemon game?”

“No.”

“Animal Crossing?”

“No.”

“Stardew Valley?”

“Can’t say I have. Same with most games, really.” Then, worrying that Python might take this as some kind of personal attack, he adds, “My parents didn’t like them.”

Python stares at him, sort of squinting, like he’s trying to figure something out. After a long, uncomfortable moment, he finally speaks.

“Luke, how do you feel about spreadsheets?”

What?

“I… like them fine? It's nice to keep things organized.”

Python nods. “Okay, great. We’re playing Stardew.”

Devin's Dude Ranch A Bachelorette Challenge

Horse Lover | Loves Outdoors | Rancher

Devin Delaney is a successful entrepreneur who made her wealth crafting award-winning nectar that sells up to $40k a bottle. However, she says her real passion is training horses, and she only started the nectar business as a way to fund it. Running a thriving business and training horses doesn't leave much time for looking for love. Devin has agreed to let 5 potential matches move into her home at Echo Valley Ranch for the duration of the challenge with the hopes of finding her soulmate. When asked what she's looking for she said, "Well, he's got to like horses first of all, and I want someone who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Someone who is also gentle, and smart. And kind. Someone who wants to share all the adventures this life has to offer...and share this ranch life with me. I guess, really, I want it all."

I'm pretty firmly on the "Jon Snow doesn't have a "real" Targaryen name, it's actually pretty important that he is Jon Snow and if Lyanna gave him a name, it'd be more likely to be a Northern name" train. However, if he did have a secret Targaryen name, the most correct answer is Aemon because that makes two Aemon Targaryens sworn to the Watch, having given up everything in actual service to the realm. The second most correct answer is actually a Velaryon name but you know what, it would be fucking hilarious if there was a second not-so-secret Targaryen bastard named Jacaerys who's nevertheless the most employed Targaryen of his generation. Also, Jacaerys is an objectively better letter J-starting namesake compared to the low, low bar set by Jaehaerys I (trades title of Westeros' worst father back and forth with Tywin Lannister) and Jaehaerys II (reinvented sibling incest after several generations of doing marginally better).
