There probably is no place like Tuscany in the world. The very landscape itself is a big animated painting. And then the Etruscans, Romans & Medieval and Renaissance Italians build those amazing houses and cities.

Crete Senesi, Vescona, Tuscany, Italy "If you find yourself alone, riding in the green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled. For you are in Elysium, and you're already dead!" - Gladiator (2000). This photograph features a lone cypress tree in the Crete Senesi near Vescona in southern Tuscany, Italy. The "Sienese Clays" are so named for the distinctive grey colouration of the soil, which gives the landscape a lunar complexion. In spring, however, the hills are lit up with a smaragdine carpet of fresh pasture.
