3. Favorite musical artist / group you started listening to this year?
This is so cringe I can't think of anything. I listened to very little new music and also apparently failed to get into any new-to-me old bands. I think the closest I can come is getting deep into Joe Meek-produced songs at one point
14. Favorite book you read this year?
Nonfiction: Time's Monster by Priya Satia Fiction: Autumn by Ali Smith
18. A memorable meal this year?
Over the summer we hosted a cookout/potluck in the park & everyone brought amazing food and there was a big turnout and we had friends from college visiting and the whole vibe was very sweet and fun

A really lovely story from Reddit user lasalopederon about their mother meeting the icon that is Audrey Hepburn and getting lipstick recommendation from her.
Audrey was known for wearing her signature lipstick everywhere, and she revealed to OP's mother that the shade was Eccentric (260) by Estée Lauder!
Not just that, but the lipstick is still being made.
Tumblr media
It's just a gorgeous shade, in my opinion.

a speech about goncharov i made for my public speaking class!
note: this is not exactly what will be spoken for my class, as i am not reading my speech word-for-word. however, this is an outline of the speech i will be presenting, and i thought y'all might be interested in seeing it.
Introduction:
The purpose of my speech is to inform my audience of the fake movie “Goncharov” and how it has impacted me. My goal is to inform my audience of how the fake movie “Goncharov” came to be and of the value it has.
By a quick show of hands, how many of you have seen or heard of Goncharov before? [Quick pause as I wait for no hands – or almost no hands – to go up.] Alright. So, Goncharov was a 1973 mafia movie supported by Martin Scorsese, and has been widely regarded as the greatest mafia movie of all time. It’s about the Russian mafia in Naples, Italy, and follows a variety of characters such as Goncharov himself, Katya, who is Goncharov’s wife, Audrei “The Banker” Daddano, and my personal favorite, Joseph “Ice Pick Joe” Morelli, with actors such as Robert De Niro, Cybill Shepherd, Harvey Keitel, and Lynda Carter. So, why have you never heard of this movie before? Well, everything I just told you? It’s all a lie. It’s all made up. Goncharov? Yeah. It never actually existed.
I remember being part of the Goncharov fandom as it first blew up on Tumblr in late 2022. It was a great source of joy for me and made a significant impact on Tumblr’s culture. I am going to show my audience how Goncharov came to be, the creativity is spawned, and briefly reflect on how the website it originated on was vital for its growth.
So, what is Goncharov, and what is going on here?
Origins:
Goncharov was a fake movie created by Tumblr in late 2022.
Sometime prior to August 22nd, 2020, Tumblr user ZootyCoon posted a photograph of knockoff boots they had bought that advertised a non-existent movie, Goncharov, on them, claiming that Goncharov was “the greatest mafia movie of all time.” In response, on August 22nd, 2020, another Tumblr user, AbandonedAmbition, commented “This idiot hasn’t seen Goncharov”, which was then added to the post itself by Tumblr user LoserMo.
While ZootyCoon’s original post did receive some attention, it wasn’t until November 18th, 2022 that Goncharov truly hit it off as a cultural phenomenon, thanks to Tumblr user Beelzeebub, who posted a fan-made poster for Goncharov, receiving almost 20,000 likes and over 15,000 reblogs in three days.
Fandom:
As it turns out, you don't actually need a piece of media to be real in order for a fandom to form around it.
Countless fanworks were created for Goncharov, including fanart, fanfiction, music, scene analysis and analysis of motifs, gif sets, memes, and so much more. As mentioned in a YouTube video by YouTuber ColeyDoesThings, there was even a time where Goncharov had more fanfiction on a popular fanfiction website than James Cameran’s Avatar, the highest grossing movie of all time.
So much lore was being created for Goncharov in such a short amount of time that efforts had to be made to record it all. Multiple individuals attempted to create a “master copy” of Goncharov’s lore, including what is now a 48-page Google doc that includes a plot summary, brief descriptions of various scenes, and links and sources to various contributors.
But Goncharov could not be contained just to Tumblr. Various media outlets, such as The New York Times, The Guardian, Forbes, and The Washington Post all posted articles about Goncharov, an internet phenomenon.
Tumblr:
But, why? Why this fake movie, and why on Tumblr of all places?
As a social media site, Tumblr has an incredibly weird culture. There are no public follower counts, no verification for users, and a whole array of weird social rules. But one thing that really makes Tumblr special is the interaction between large and small blogs alike. Because anyone can and is encouraged to create their own content and add to others’ content, something like Goncharov could very quickly become a “yes, and” game among Tumblr’s users.
Tumblr is also very much a “fandom” site. Fanart, fanfiction, and other fanworks dominate the website, and Goncharov in its heyday was no exception. Interactions between fans and fan creators is what really causes fandoms to grow and survive, so it makes sense that Goncharov thrived the way it did considering how easy it was to find fellow fans. With no pressure to reveal your “true” self, there’s a lot less pressure when you share what you’ve created.
Conclusion:
So, what can we learn here?
The fake movie “Goncharov” was unintentionally created by a tag on a pair of off-brand boots but didn’t truly become popular until Beelzebub’s poster. Fandom quickly grew around it, creating countless fanworks, but Tumblr’s unique culture as a social media site is what truly allowed it to thrive.
There is joy and creativity in unusual places. Whether or not you believe Goncharov to be a waste of time, the popularity of a fake movie says something about the human fascination with stories. Thank you.

2023 Board Candidates
We have taken time to go over the bios and platforms presented by the current candidates, and will here present our thoughts for each on how we feel they align with our campaign's goals at this stage. We are particularly concerned with how willing and capable we feel they would be in helping the OTW meet its commitment towards developing anti-racist policies and practices.
We encourage everyone to read the platforms for themselves, and we look forward to getting to know each candidate more during the question-and-answer period.
Anh P.
Gave no pronouns, the bio uses they/them.
Anh P. identifies the OTW's lack of transparency as a direct symptom of its current structure and human resource management not being up to the task of managing its 900+ volunteers, but does not offer solutions in their platform at this time. Their main focus seems to be reaching out towards new fans, particularly in non-English-language fandoms, for which their international, non-Anglo background and perspective are well-suited. However, they do not specifically acknowledge racism as a distinct problem nor do they indicate that they would prioritize anti-racist goals. They do not mention the Terms of Service (TOS), Policy and Abuse Committee (PAC), or their position on a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) consultant, nor do they state a position on using funds towards hiring anyone for that position.
Audrey R.
Gave no pronouns, the bio uses she/her.
Audrey R. has experience within the organization and has a background in policy and nonprofit work, which could translate well to the Board. The work she has done has been on the Strategic Planning committee, which has worked at a particularly slow pace (6 years for implementation of the strategic plan), which she acknowledges “does little to address immediate needs.” Her stated primary reason for running is to protect fandom from AI which, while admirable and important, is not our focus – and to that end, she does not mention racism or harassment at all. She expresses willingness to have paid employees and calls for a conflict resolution management system for volunteers.
Jennifer H.
Pronouns: she/they.
Jennifer H. specifically addresses the importance of communication with the OTW’s user base. She also speaks to the need for complete structural reform. Her platform indicates an experienced perspective on what she can accomplish as a Board member and a willingness to do the hard work to make things better. We find their platform promising in that they are directly addressing issues we have raised, show these issues to be a priority, and express an understanding of the difficulty of the road ahead, but a willingness to do the hard work anyway. She seems to have a bit less experience working for the org, having only joined in 2022, but that is not necessarily a point against them.
Kathryn S.
Gave no pronouns, the bio uses she/her.
Kathryn S. has experience in non-profit work and community activism, implementing DEI efforts and Human Resources (HR) experience which seem to make her a good fit for the Board and realizing our goals. She explicitly prioritizes the hiring of a DEI consultant along with an HR position. She does mention “recent controversies” in her platform, though she does not specify which ones. Her experience with the OTW is significant, at 9 years.
Qiao C.
Pronouns: she/her.
Qiao C also brings an international fandom perspective and focuses primarily on the importance of communication inside and outside the organization. She makes a very brief mention of updating the TOS. She does indicate she would like to hire an HR professional, but her platform – while it mentions the recent protests and spends time discussing diversity issues – makes no explicit mention of racial issues outside bringing in more diverse volunteers. We do feel that more diverse voices within the OTW are important, though diversity alone is not going to solve the issue of racist harassment currently allowed in the OTW’s policies and enforcement practices. There is nothing else in her platform that speaks to dealing with racist harassment, updates to the TOS, or hiring a DEI consultant.
Zixin Z.
Gave no pronouns but the bio uses she/her.
Zixin Z would also bring an international presence to the board. She mentions the need for structural change, paid positions, and increased documentation to prevent the loss of institutional knowledge. She also mentions the need for outreach towards non-English-speaking fans and has a desire to provide support to volunteers from minority groups. She does not mention racism, racist harassment, or hiring a DEI consultant in her platform, so outside the outreach and support she mentions, there is not enough for us to conclude that these would be priorities for her.
[Edited July 10,2023. Revised Zixin Z.'s position on outreach to be "towards non-English speaking fans and has a desire to provide support to volunteers from minority groups" and add "outside the outreach and support she mentions" to the subsequent sentence. Original stated the outreach would be towards "Chinese-speaking fans". ]
[Post updated with explanation of the scope of these summaries. Please reblog the completed version if doing so]

So, for your Into the Reverse AU, have you considered making essentially nameless ocs who use the other miraculous or having some of the adult characters use the other miraculous. I just think it would be interesting to see, and it would make some sense for The Supreme to have agents that aren't, you know, all teenagers. It could also show the hierarchy of The Supreme's organization better and show that Marinette, Adrien, Kagami, Luka, Felix, and Chloe aren't super high up in it, which is why they're essentially used as fodder. Since Tomoe, Audrey, Andre, and maybe Felix's parents are a part of the inner circle, they could also have miraculous to show their ranking, power, and how they could be in charge of certain branches or operations in The Supreme's organization.
Yeah, almost all of the miraculouses are owned by adults, and I'm considering giving some of them to the parents but I'm not sure yet. I know Tomoe will definitely have one. A lot of the "nameless background miraculous users" would be people using the miraculouses from other boxes, but I would want all of the miraculouses from the main box to be used by established characters. Two of the miraculous are in an interesting situation tho
Like I alluded to in Alix's post (https://www.tumblr.com/revolutionary-thoy/732523573334458368/re-verse-nathaniel-marc-and-alix-the-three-of?source=share), her dad tried to steal the rabbit miraculous and went missing shortly after. He hid the rabbit miraculous somewhere and neither the Supreme, nor the Resistence know where it is. He left clues for Alix to find it
The peacock is a whole mess. I'm going to make a post in the future detailing my reasoning for this, but it's not damaged in this AU and Emilie died under different circumstances. I'm currently unsure who's hands it should be in. Because if the Supreme had it, nothing is stopping him from snapping Adrien out of existence, but if Gabriel had it, there's no reason for him to not use it. It might actually still be with Felix's parents? I'm still debating on what I should do with that

I read these opinions on what would probably happen to Chloe from other users on reddit. Basically Audrey won't actually get her any REAL help because it would mean her abuse would get out and ruin her reputation. Audrey won't even acknowledge Chloe exists or even get her name right unless she's especially nasty to everyone around her. Audrey would probably just dump her off at a boarding school, probably the same one Zoe went to. You know, the one that Zoe went to that only gave a rat about her when she faked being cruel, and started bullying her nonstop when she quit? All this is gonna just enable Chloes crappy behavior while Audrey and ANdre continue to not be parents to her. Though I'm pretty sure Astruc would smugly call us stupid for "looking too deep into a kids show"
But Chloe is mean, so that obviously means that she doesn't deserve parents in the first place!
