disclaimer: like always this is all purely fiction. although i'm writing my oc as mina's younger sister, i know absolutely nothing about twice's mina's family, so anything i'm writing about the family in this is purely to help build my character's personality.

she was born in San Antonio, Texas, United States before moving to japan when she was toddler with her family
growing up she kind of felt like an outcast in the family
she was always being compared to her siblings and their achievements especially to her sister
so she was always trying to be the perfect daughter and attempted to overachieve in everything she did
even though she was constantly pitted against her sister, the two are very close
she has done ballet for 8 years
she was often bullied in school for her height and leaky body

however the relationship was extremely toxic

though the relationship ended, it still left an impact on her mentally as she developed depression

however in 2015, she got permission from her parents to audition for jyp through the online auditions with the promise of continuing school in korea if she got in
she went through jyp's online auditions and passed w/ shinee's selene 6.23
missing her opportunity to join sixteen the survival show that created twice, she joined produce 101 along side w/ now soloist somi
she ended up placing 2nd on the show and debuted w/ i.o.i in 2016
after i.o.i disbanded in 2017, she only stay w/ jyp for a couple more months before deciding to leave the company
her departure from the company was mainly bc of mistreatment

shigure is a menace. black haru 😭 the boys just wanted to hear you say ily

you plop yourself down on the couch, rubbing your temples in desperation to relieve some of the stress from work that you don’t notice KYO emerge from the kitchen. “long day?” you nod, a tired smile pulling at the corners of your lips. he sits on the center table in front of you, smoothing a hand over your knee. “food’s still warm. wanna have dinner?” “i think i’ll head to bed early,” you tell him as you reach out to lace your fingers together. “okay.” he doesn’t say anything else after that which is unusual because he always tells you to eat something. “hey,” you tug at his hand to get his attention. “you okay?” you’re met with silence so you continue to prod, “what is it?” you watch kyo hesitate for a moment but ultimately occupying the space next to you on the sofa, playing with your hand as he speaks in a small voice. “we’re okay, right?” “why won’t we be?” “you didn’t say i love you when you left for work so… i don’t know.” he simply shrugs but you can tell he’s more bothered than he’s letting on. “hey,” you cradle his face in your palms so he meets your eyes. “i love you. you know i do.” “would it hurt you to say it?” you fight the urge to roll your eyes. god, he’s stubborn. “i forgot but i didn’t mean it. i promise.” he takes you in his arms, resting his forehead on your shoulder before releasing a pleased sigh as he basks in your warmth. “i love you, too.” “big baby,” you tease. he retaliates with a poke on your side, tightening his arms around you when your body involuntarily jerks away. “you sure you’re not hungry?”
“do you want me to pick you up?” YUKI offers, his voice sounding hopeful from the other end of the call. “no, it’s fine. i’m just about to leave anyway. i’ll see you at home.” “oh. sure.” you sense a tinge of disappointment in his tone; or maybe that’s just you so you ignore it. but unbeknownst to you, yuki’s been frantic all day, his restless hand fiddling with his phone as soon as you hang up. he can’t think of a good reason why you won’t say those three words. he knows he would. besides, you have never left the house without telling him you love him. until today. he’s soon snapped out of his thoughts when he hears a click on the door knob and a surge of relief flows through him once you greet him with a smile. “hi.” he shoots up from his seat to make his way to you, hands reaching for your shoulders to take your coat. “how was work?” “work’s work,” you shrug, “how was your day?” “better now that you’re here.” his arms encircle your waist to pull you close and you can’t help but coo at him. “everything alright?” he doesn’t answer right away. “yuki?” “it’s stupid.” “what is it?” “you, uh…” he trails off momentarily, eyes now cast downwards. “you left this morning without saying i love you.” “oh.” “i told you it’s dumb-“ “no!” you grab his face, smooshing his cheeks which shuts him up in an instant. “it’s not. i’m sorry. i was running late and it completely slipped my mind. i’m sorry. i love you.” you pepper him with kisses, pulling a series of giggles from his lips. “i love you too. but i’ll start waking you up an hour before your alarm.”
“i think i’m going back to writing,” SHIGURE declares as soon as you arrive home from work. “it’s about a girl who didn’t say i love you to her lover before leaving. what do you think?” whatever it is you’re about to do comes to a halt as you’re stood at the door, speechless and baffled. “…and almost a whole day has passed and she still hasn’t said it so her boyfriend starts to worry she’s fallen out of love.” “that’s uh… interesting?” you try your best to humor him but he sighs theatrically at your lack of response. “you know what? it’s fine. the boy has always been a giver anyway.” and he drops the subject. the next morning you’re putting your shoes on, just about to leave for work when you call out to him. “shigure, i’m heading out. i’ll see you later. i love you.” shigure only hums and you wait for him to say more but to no avail. assuming he didn’t hear you clearly, you walk up to him, giving him a quick goodbye kiss. “i’ll see you later, okay? i love you,” you repeat. “okay, i’ll see you later.” you visibly deflate at his response, muttering a small oh okay and shigure immediately backtracks but still nothing short of teasing. “i love you too, baby.” he kisses your pout away, snickering against your lips. “that was mean.” “that was payback for yesterday.” it’s only then it hits you why he was acting up last night.
as soon as you got a call from shigure about HATSUHARU tearing his house down, you rushed out of work and now you’re standing at a pile of debris in his front yard - he wasn’t exaggerating on the phone. “what happened?” you approach shigure’s slumped form and he releases a sigh before turning to you. “who would’ve thought i’d miss kyo?” unsure of what to say, all you can do is utter an apology on hatsuharu’s behalf which shigure brushes off; instead he points you to the younger sohma’s direction. you’re quick to find hatsuharu, given his white hair is hard to miss. “haru?” his head snaps at the sound of your voice. he seems to have come back from black haru but you still take his hand, rubbing soothing circles on it with your thumb. “wanna tell me what happened?” “wanna tell me why you didn’t say i love you this morning?” you’re completely at a loss for words, not expecting his retort so he continues. “you didn’t tell me you love me before you left. you always do.” despite his neutral expression, a slight pout forms on his lips and you feel the urge to tease him about it but you bite your tongue. “is that why you wrecked shigure’s house?” “it’s not a first for him.” “haru…” when he simply sighs, you go on. “i just forgot. i’m sorry okay? you know i love you.” he tugs at your hand gently, prompting you to step closer, “come here.” and just when you think he’ll wrap you in his embrace, he picks you up and throws you over his shoulder. “wait! i have to get back to work-” “we’re going home.”

Fruits Basket Sticker Collection (2008) Scans
Fruits Basket (FB) is one of my all time favorite shoujo manga, and I was so excited to get my hands on an unused copy of this sticker book from 2008!
This main trio makes me so nostalgic. And the Tokyopop logo is SO iconic.
I've always been more of a digital consumer of manga, so I initially read Fruits Basket entirely online from fan-made and fan-translated scans.
I have very fond memories of coming home from school every night and logging onto the family computer to binge as many chapters of FB as I could before dinner. One day my dad gave me his old laptop, since I was the one mostly hogging the family computer.
I was SO excited.
I immediately made my background Shigure themed.
I liked Shigure a lot since he was the year of the dog, just like me.
And you bet I spent all my free time on my clunky early 2000s hand-me-down laptop binging the FB manga, watching the FB anime (in three parts on YouTube, of course), and consuming every FB fanfic and fanart I could find online.
All that to say, this manga holds a special place in my heart. I find myself going back every couple of years and re-reading it.
It truly is such a quintessential y2k shoujo experience.

Even though this book is titled as a sticker book, it contains more than stickers. As seen in the tagline on the front page, this book also includes pin-ups and temporary tattoos.
Not sure why they only have stickers in the title, I guess that's just more of an attention grabber than pin-ups or temporary tattoos would be.
This book has a hard cover and spiral-bound pages. Because of this, it was actually a bit tricky to scan.
I was able to crop out the spiral for most of the pages, as it wouldn't interfere with the overall image of the page, but I did keep it visible on the title page scan.
Every time I tried cropping it for this page, I felt it took too much away from Kyo's portrait.
So I just let it be.
The first part of the book consists of "pin-ups" of Tohru and the Sohma family.
I will say, pin-up is a bit of an odd word to use. I think something like 'mini posters' would've worked as a better descriptor for what is actually inside the book.
I think most Western audiences associate the word "pin-up" with the image of a sexualized or risqué photo.
But in this case, I think it's meant innocently as a picture that can be "pinned up" on a wall...even though that's basically the same reason for the name behind the the sexualized photos...
Either way, it's a bit funny when it's brought up in a PG setting.
Anyways, the pin-up photos in the book are all loose inside clear paper protector sheets. I think it's a neat, thoughtful way to make the pictures safe and accessible.
Ignore the cafalla.com watermark - that was from when I had a .com blog! But it is still me, and this is still my photo lol.
It's a bit hard to tell from the photo, but these pictures are in plastic sheet protectors, and you can slide the paper in and out from the side.
If you wanted to take a specific picture out, you needn't worry about ripping or ruining them while trying to remove them from the book.
So I really appreciate that detail.
Because of this, scanning these pages was an easy experience. The front page of the "pin-up" depicts art of the character from the manga, and the back of the page has a little bio about the character.

As for the Sohma family, they are the same, except they also show a little drawing of their animal form on the back.

The book continues with pages for each member of the Sohma family, plus Akito.
I'm surprised Tohru's friends Arisa and Saki weren't included, as they are also pretty frequently appearing characters...more so than some of the family members.

I really adore that the manga art was used for this whole book. The original anime has that early 2000s charm, but I much prefer the manga artwork for this series.
We're going to see a lot of it with the stickers and temporary tattoos, which follow the pin-up photos.
I'm not sure why, but all the sticker and temporary tattoo pages have a similar layout (which you will see), with the exception of this one sticker page.
Not sure why this one page has a cell phone theme and TONS of tiny stickers, but it's cute!
Again, this was a page where it was hard to cut out the spiral without cutting off parts of the stickers located closed to it. So I left it in the scan.

And like I said, I love that this is all artwork from the manga.
My favorite is the group sticker on the green sheet, where Tohru is wearing the red plaid skirt.
I vividly remember that chapter spread because I adored her outfit. Black, red, and plaid aren't really colors/patterns Tohru wears, and I think they compliment her so much. I also adored how all the boys' outfits matched the same color scheme and aesthetic.

“thank you, baby.” KYO says to your daughter when she hands over a plate, helping him with the dishes. “daddy, why do you call me mommy’s name?” “what do you mean?” “you said baby.” “because you’re my baby,” he coos as he places a kiss on your daughter’s cheek but it doesn’t relieve her confusion. “but that’s mommy’s name,” she tells him. “that’s not mommy’s name.” “then why do you call her that?” unknown to them, you’ve been listening to their conversation from the dining table but when your husband stammers at the question, you can’t help but laugh. kyo looks at you over his shoulder, silently asking for help, so you finally join them in the kitchen. “that’s just a nickname daddy calls you and me because he loves us.” after a few beats, your daughter reacts with a prolonged “oh” though you’re not sure if she truly understood. you decide to take her place at the sink, letting her go play and when she’s completely left the room, you tease kyo. “you need to start being creative with your nicknames.”
“give it.” you try to coax your son to hand over the chocolate bar he’s hiding behind him, “you can have it after lunch.” but he only shakes his head. this little menace, you think. he takes after YUKI. you drawl your son’s name with a slight reprimanding tone but his smile only grows wider. “my love…” he says, mimicking your tone. you blink, surprised at the term of endearment. “what did you call me?” “your name.” you feel a smile of your own creeping onto your lips. “that’s not my name, honey.” a frown forms on your son’s face as he walks over to his father who finds the whole interaction amusing. “daddy,” your child gestures at yuki to lean closer before whispering in his ear—you can still hear it, though. “daddy, you’re wrong. ‘my love’ is not her name.” your husband lets out snort but quickly composes himself as he tries to stifle a laugh, faking a gasp instead. “no… but that’s what she told me.”
“you missed!” HATSUHARU yells from behind the couch, dodging the nerf bullet from your son who charges to his hiding spot until he realizes he’s out of ammo. “noooo!” your kid screams, running to you to use you as a human shield. “princess, save me from evil haru!” “what did you say?” you ask but before he can answer, your husband cuts in, momentarily breaking out of character. “hey, only i get to call her princess.” “but that’s her name,” your child explains. hatsuharu looks at you, dumbfounded and distracted enough that he doesn’t notice your son snatching a stray foam bullet from the floor until something hits him on the forehead. he flinches, prompting your kid to flee to his room, squealing as adrenaline flows through him. “are you okay?” you ask hatsuharu in between giggles. “no, i’m offended he knows my name. apparently, i love you more than you love me.” shooting him a playful eye roll, you take his nerf gun and aim for his arm. you call out to your son, “evil haru is down! time for dinner!”
“mommy! daddy!” your daughter’s voice rings through your home, breaking up your conversation with HATORI in the living room. she jumps into the space between you and your husband on the couch, proudly showing her colored pencil drawing of a house with three stick figures. “this is you,” she tells her father, “this is mommy. and this is me.” you read the names written above them but before you can ask about yours, your husband does it for you. “why does it say ‘sweetheart sohma’ right here?” “that’s mommy,” your little girl says with no hesitation then proceeds to point at another name, reading it aloud. “and this is you, ‘tori sohma’.”
