The TWST comic anthology cover art will never not scare me 🧎 it’s so gorgeous but why does it feel MORE RELEVANT THAN EVER WTF

Anyway, it’s interesting how the four golden corners resemble a crow/raven, and the way the pointed ends are all “aimed” directly at Crowley is a little sus (I will cry so bad and mourn for the rest of my life if Crowley dies at the end 🧎) The subtle design underneath the birds look like rose thorns/briars with green leaves on them. Hm.

The “lock” on the left side has the briars curled in to resemble flowers, with some of them resembling roses. It’s interesting how in the background of Crowley’s art, there’s a faint silhouette of a tree branch, but a tree without any leaves and flowers. Symbolism??? Is it winter, or is the tree dead? It’s interesting how the design HIDDEN under the golden birds have green leaves, showing that those briars are alive, but the branches surrounding Crowley looks dead. Not to be annoying with my Levan conspiracy, but y’know there’s symbolism 🧎

TWST always confuses me with this because I can’t tell if it has a meaning or not, but the dorms are once again out of order (at least Book wise)? The order seems to be different every time haha. The first three goes as normal, but then it’s Pomefiore, Diasomnia, Scarabia, and Ignihyde? I don’t know what it means or if it means anything at all -v-

And of course, how can we not talk about all the 1st years in a deep sleep, surrounding Crowley? -v- it’s interesting how they’re all wearing their ceremonial robes, which is something they typically wear for the entrance ceremony. The implication of how they’re all wearing something that represents the “beginning” of their experience at Night Raven College, all while sleeping which happened at Book 7/“end game”….it concerns me 🧎

And the way they’re positioned resembles a waxing crescent moon, which typically symbolizes rebirth, new beginnings. It messes me up that the crescent moon can also be referred to as a “sickle moon,” which a scythe is related to, and that Death has a scythe to reap or “harvest” human souls 🧎 YES im looking too deep into this BUT WHY ALL THE DESTRH SYMBOLISM SHCHFHCHDHSJDHCB.

Anyway the way Ace and Deuce almost connect to make a full circle but a golden lock with briars/thorns is blocking them 🧎 Because you know who’s heavily related to keys, has a cane in the shape of a key, and even wears several keys on his outfit? Yeah. Crowley.

This is all just a very long way to say that this artwork IS STILL MESSING ME UO BECAUSE WHAT DOES IT MEAN SHCHCUFHHDJS

Scrolling around the Yuu tag and your Morgan!Yuu appeared and I have an unhealthy love for characters doomed by the narrative.

On that note, have you ever stopped to think about Morgan!Yuu, who is stuck in Twisted Wonderland, a world similar to theirs yet not, a world where no one knows them as the Immovable Tyrant Ruler and for the briefest of moments (to them at least), the let out that small remaining piece of Tonelico out and let themself enjoy their time in Twisted Wonderland.

But they know how their story is going to end...

What if I started hyperventilating and losing it and eating drywall and drinking cement? What then? What then HUH????

I just ... I need you to understand the reason why Summer Morgan is like That in her 1st and 2nd ascensions is due to one immutable fact—that just an ounce of kindness was able to revert her back to the days when she'd truly been happiest, when she embraced the spring and summer with open arms and glowing smile, when the burden of a kingdom desperate to cannibalize itself hadn't weighed so heavily on her shoulders.

Just the fact that Morgan!Yuu gets to let the walls crumble for just a moment to finally breathe after having long since allowed the fear of their kindness becoming their undoing (which inevitably happens anyway because Morgan!Yuu hasn't known peace).

And yet even so, they lay awake in the dead of night worried of their people, worried of what the future holds, worried that their kindness will be turn into a stake raring to pierce theor beating heart.

And some part of them knows that all faorytales must come to an end. That all stories reach the hardcover one way other the other—that there are no cliffhangers to be found where their going. It's hellish and maddening and they'd wish it'd end so that the hope doesn't fester and bleed out into a world that may as well be decaying if they stay just one moment longer.

And yet it's addicting. Kindness, compassion, the yearning of something better its all so addicting that Morgan!Yuu simply has no choice but to see it all through to the end. Even if it hurts them more than anything else.

Because in the end—it was worth it. All of it. For just a moment of reprieve.
