Hi there, I have a request!
A reader who is also half-fae, but unlike Sebek, they tend to reject their fae side more and prefer being treated as human. Maybe they try to pass off as a normal human all along. How would Diasomnia react to that?
Thanks and take your time!
Ooh this is interesting, thank you for the ask!
Diasomnia reacts to a half-fae!reader who embraces their human side
Malleus
He never found it to be a bad thing for you to embrace your human side. In fact, he quite likes it that you are comfortable with it, as a lot of half-fae find themselves pushing the human side of them away. Some may view it as a weakness, but to him it's a strength
Being human is something faes see as being magicless, being less skilled at spells, but you were proving them wrong by making it into NRC, achieving high grades, and becoming a top student at Diasomnia. A lot of students can tell he sees you as one of his favorite Diasomnia students
If you were trying to hide the fact that you were fae in front of him, it will fail miserably. He can tell you're half-fae from just seeing you. If you ask him why, he'll say that there's an aura he senses from you, but that's all.
Overall, I feel like with his curiosity of humanity and his overall interest in making friends, you would quickly become good friends and maybe more with Malleus. Also if anyone tries to bully you for your background, you show them that you're stronger than they are or Malleus steps in and just gives them a mean stare haha
Lilia
Similar to Malleus, he knew you had some fae blood in you when you stepped into the Diasomnia dorm. He doesn't say anything, but when you tell him that you're human, he laughs and says that there's nothing to be ashamed of being both fae and human.
"You're like the best of both worlds!" He would joke. If anything though, he does find your skills in magic and your overall vibe to be super nice. It makes him happy that you aren't ashamed of being mixed, something that some more conservative fae don't like
You and Sebek might butt heads often, but it gets diffused when Lilia steps in and tells Sebek that he should try dueling you and seeing who wins. Lilia also reminds you not to be ashamed of being half fae: it makes you you anyways.
He might ask you about certain human norms or human media. He's really into video games and music, especially those outside of fae culture. Because of this, be sure to share your own interests with him or maybe help expand his video game library by playing some with him
Silver
He's one of the only humans in Diasomnia, something that he doesn't mind but sometimes gets picked on for. You showing up to the dorm was more or less a sense of relief for him, but even more so when you showed everyone how strong you were
He didn't know you were half fae until Lilia told him one day. Silver was telling Lilia about how strong you were and how he was planning to train with you. "Yes, and they're super open about being fae and human too, it's refreshing to hear such nice things for once about that," Lilia might respond and that's when Silver just blinks a few times and goes "Wait. What?!"
You don't have to worry about getting into any arguments with him since he really doesn't mind your background. You might have to teach him some human culture stuff though since, while human, he grew up with fae.
I feel like he would tell you to embrace your fae side more too. Though he's fully human, he wants you to know that you should love yourself from both perspectives.
Sebek
He's someone you would definitely argue a lot with. While he's ashamed of his human side, you're ashamed of your fae side. Silver might say that you two should merge and become one person so you guys can just like both sides equally haha
Sebek does admire your strengths, but he wants to know what it is that makes you want to be human. Also if you wanted to pass off as human to him, it's impossible because he's half fae and he could sense a similar vibe from you. He also reminds you of how good being a fae is as well
Though there's a lot of arguments, I feel like you two would get along. If there's any students that try to make fun of either of you for being mixed, you two have each others' backs. He might not agree that being human is better, but he would rather not hear negative comments on either of your backgrounds
He might develop a quiet crush on you at some point. This is mainly because of how kind you are but also with how talented you are in magic. With this, he might open up to being human more, which is something you should help him with. You two might end up helping each other embrace both fae and human sides together.

Silver had a problem.
The Ramshackle Prefect had been sneaking their way into his every thought, and it was not stopping.
It started one day when he saw you on his way to the stables.
Silver couldn’t say why, but for some reason you looked excruciatingly lonely to his eyes. You let out a haggard yawn, while struggling to read your book. It seemed like you might have been on that page for a while. As you rubbed your forehead and mumbled to yourself, he felt like he couldn't take his eyes off you. This caused Silver to do something rather uncharacteristic of him. He decided to see if you wanted to come with him to the equestrian club.
His thought process was simple: as someone who drew animals to them, they helped him when he felt stressed. There were few times that he didn’t feel better after sleeping in a meadow surrounded by woodland creatures. While he couldn’t give that same experience to you outright, he hoped that maybe you liked horses.
You seem surprised that he had invited you along, but your shy smile and barely-hidden enthusiasm made his chest feel warm. Animals really made anyone feel better, he thought.
Upon first glance, the horses seemed to make you a bit nervous. You had mumbled something along the lines of ‘are they the same?’ when Silver asked if you had any questions.
He wasn’t quite sure what you had meant by that.
The easiest way to get you near a horse was to offer it a treat as a bribe, so Silver asked if you wanted to feed one of them. You looked between him and the horses a few times anxiously while chewing your lip, but seemed to make up your mind and nodded after a moment.
Silver handed you some oats to offer the horse and showed you how to hold your hand so as not to get nipped by an excitable steed on accident.
“Why does holding your hand like this help?” You asked curiously, miming the palm-up gesture that Silver had modeled.
“Because your fingers can look like carrots to a hungry horse.” He replied. You giggled.
Silver hadn’t meant his reply as a joke, but seeing your smile again made him wish that he had told it as one.
His face melted into a smile as he watched one of the horses approach your open hand and nibble at the feed in your palm.
“You can try and pet him if you’d like now. Just go slow,” Silver said encouragingly, “They like the neck best usually, but this one likes strokes on his nose.”
You reach out with shaky fingers to stroke the horses’ muzzle gingerly. It was a beautiful white stallion with a dusty brown diamond on his face and big chocolate-colored eyes.
It nuzzled into your palm affectionately, moving its face up to nibble at where you had held the oats in your palm just a moment ago. You laughed at the cheekiness.
“Still hungry, huh? I like a guy who’s straightforward,” You say with a laugh, “Am I okay to give him more, Silver?” You asked, your eyes practically sparkling at the question.
Silver swallowed thickly. Those things were dangerous.
“J-just once more. He’ll get fat if we spoil him too much.” He said, clearing his throat in hopes of covering the surprised stutter that had eked out of him.
You nod enthusiastically and carefully repeat your actions from earlier to give the horse another mouthful. The horse tickles your hand with soft chomps once you’ve run out of chow. It huffs upon discovering that you were out of treats, quietly neighing in displeasure.
“Sorry buddy, no more!” You say, presenting both of your empty palms to the horse for confirmation.
The horse sniffs both hands in a final check and bobs its head. It seems to be done with this indignity as it trots away back to the other horses in the pasture.
“He’s bossy, huh?” You joke to Silver, smiling over at your companion.
Silver’s eyes soften. He was pleasantly surprised to see how observant you were with them.
“Yeah, he’s the hardest to get to behave, but he’s the fastest steed by far.” He had been pretty good with you though, he thought. As food motivated as Lancelot was, he didn’t approach a lot of people without lots of coaxing. With that in mind, Silver was struck by an idea.
“Do you want to try riding him sometime?”
You seemed surprised that he would ask. You looked hesitantly at the horse again, but the softening of your eyes was unmistakable.
“They do seem the same as the ones in my world, huh?” You murmur thoughtfully.
Oh… so that was what you meant earlier. He sometimes forgot that you aren’t from here.
Perhaps part of your apprehension was due to that uncertainty? Silver could empathize with that. If you were in the Briar Valley rather than Sage’s Island, perhaps worrying about unfamiliar animals would even be the correct instinct.
“If you want to join the equestrian club sometime… or even just try to learn alone with me, I would love to help you ride.” Silver offered.
If you asked him why he had done any of this, he wouldn’t be able to answer. Other than there was something in the back of his mind that told him when he walked by earlier that he couldn’t leave you alone.
If you had something in common, he wouldn’t need to leave you, right?
You took Silver up on that offer the next week.
It was slow going due to Lancelot being finicky as all get out. Silver would try and fail to choose another horse for you repeatedly. As much as Lancelot didn’t want to cooperate, he would also take it upon himself to chase off the other horses that approached when Silver tried to coax them over. It was strange, he hadn’t seen the horse act like this before.
Silver had a good sense for animals of course, but this one didn’t want to communicate with him at all. It was strange.
Silver was a serious but patient teacher. He would actively wait to see if you would realize your mistakes first if they were minor and fixable, or kindly take over and assist if it was more urgent. He knew this herd front to back, it was only natural that you would improve quickly with such a careful and thorough guide.
After a bit of this rigamarole, you were able to tack and begin slowly riding Lancelot. You had instincts, Silver thought. He also briefly was reminded about how he had once told you that you were surprisingly skilled with a sword. If this college had a knight course rather than a magician one, maybe you could… well, there was no use thinking about that huh?
Since you would go back to your own world at some point.
Silver felt the slightest pang in his heart at the thought. He would need to unpack that later.
You both met each week for riding practice, and he was proud to see your improvements. You were able to saddle and ride by yourself now, and you could brush and care for the horses before and after riding, as well.
That loneliness that Silver had felt off of you that first day seemed to have melted away, and you were positively glowing every time after you went riding. You weren’t quite to the point of comfort of doing any sort of tricks or the like, but that was more due to Lancelot’s stubbornness rather than any choice or lack of skill on your account.
One day after practice, you both were walking back to Ramshackle. Silver had insisted as a matter of chivalry that he was supposed to escort his guests from the stable home, but it was really due to the fact that he wanted an excuse to spend more time with you.
He knew that none of his fellow dorm members would really object anyway, but it made him feel better to have a backup excuse regardless.
The last few days had become a little more difficult for Silver for a few reasons. The largest one was realizing just how fast his heart had begun pounding in your proximity.
You had tripped in the barn after finishing hanging up all of the equipment when cleaning the stable. Due to his trained reflexes, Silver had been able to swing an arm around your waist to pull you back to standing, whispering a strained ‘careful’ against the baby hairs of your ear.
You had sprung up stiffly at the contact and apologized, thanking him profusely for his help. You seemed flustered, especially since after that brief encounter you had practically ran to go grab your change of clothes to and get out of your riding gear.
Silver felt the tips of his ears burning. Were you always that soft? That warm? That inviting? He felt a shiver down his spine. It was time to start thinking about these feelings, wasn’t it?
That was the first time that you had sent his heart into overdrive. The next time was when he had fallen asleep on a bench outside the library.
Silver had originally been waiting for his father to call upon him for a favor that had been vaguely requested that morning. Mysterious as ever, father had just said, ‘wait for me at three’, and left it at that.
Silver had become used to Lilia’s lack of detail on requests that he had thought ‘unnecessary’ to elaborate on, but since he didn’t have another class before meeting his dad, he had accidentally drifted to sleep on a bench while waiting for three to come to pass.
He had awoken to the feeling of his hair being softly tucked behind his ear. You were smiling down at him, face closer than it ever had been before. Silver stared at the flecks of color in your eyes that he had never noticed until now. Did they always look like that in the sunlight?
He idly wished that all of his dreams were like this. Your hand felt so gentle and your gaze so caring. More soft than even the most comfortable bed.
“A lovely dream…” He mumbled, half-lidded auroral eyes getting teary from a yawn that he was unable to resist. Silver covered his mouth modestly and rubbed at his eyes.
To his surprise you were still there.
“What was the lovely dream?” You asked, tilting your head to the side in curiosity.
Silver immediately flustered while trying to bang his empty brain around in his head for an explanation.
“Uh, just ah…” His mind was blank. Well, blank except for…
“We… We were going for a ride.” He lied, “And… you did a jump perfectly. Lancelot was very well behaved and happy.” It wasn’t good to lie. He knew that. But telling you that he thought you were so gorgeous that he assumed he was still dreaming seemed like something he would rather stab himself with his own wooden sword than say.
It takes a lot of work to stab yourself with wood, for the record.
“Aww, that does sound lovely.” You reply, a fond smile creeping across your face.,“I’m jealous, I wish I could have such nice dreams too.”
Silver chuckled. He felt the same, though the dreams both of you were wishing for were very different.
“Ah, there you are, Silver.” He heard a familiar voice trill. Father stood behind the Prefect, clearly beaming upon seeing the two of them speaking.
“Thank you for waiting for me. May I steal my dorm member, kind Prefect?” Lilia asked with an overly formal bow. He seemed to be having a good time with whatever schtick he was on today. Silver smiled just slightly. Father was just so funny sometimes.
“Certainly! I would not wish to keep him from you, kind vice-dorm leader.” You replied, mirroring Lilia’s overly formal manner. Lilia seemed to adore the affect, floating ever-so slightly off his feet with a little bounce.
“You are as charming as ever, my dear. I will see you later.” Lilia said, tilting his chin in the direction that he wished for Silver to join him in walking. Silver nodded in response and rose from the bench, gathering his bag and straightening his clothing.
“Oh, just a second Silver.” He heard you say.
Before he could ask why, he felt the caress of your hand on his cheek and felt his skin lit up scarlet in surprise.
You held a small blue flower between your finger and thumb, showing it to Silver with a blinding smile.
“I had tried to get this off of you earlier, but I think I only succeeded in waking you up. Sorry about that. I’ll let you go now! Have a good day, you two!” You say, tucking the blue bud you had removed from Silver behind your ear and waving them goodbye.
Silver couldn’t hear the last couple words you said due to all the blood pumping through his ears.
Lilia’s mischievous grin grew impossibly wider.
Silver and Lilia watched you walk away in still silence, observing that you were seemingly making your way to the mirror room.
“Adorable, aren’t they?” Lilia chuckled, his eyes boring into Silver’s meaningfully.
Silver thickly swallowed. He hated how his dad saw right through him sometimes.
“Yes. They are.” Silver replied, keeping his voice as even as he could manage.
“Do you plan to confess to them soon?”
“Father!”
“Just checking. Life is short, you know.” Lilia said with a fond smile, wrapping his arm around Silver’s shoulders affectionately. He was floating just slightly to reach him at the right height, which Silver always thought was a funny sight.
Silver missed seeing his father looking more like himself, but it was hard to argue that his boyish form didn’t suit his troublemaking personality.
Having fae for family was troublesome in all kinds of ways, no matter how much he loved them.
And now he was here. Flustered by his blossoming feelings for you while walking you back to your rickety mansion. Even worse, he was hyperaware that he was so obvious about his deepest feelings that even Father had caught on after seeing the two of them talking for only a moment.
He would very much have preferred for Lilia to be in the dark, but he supposed that was mostly wishful thinking. There was no hiding anything from him.
There were fireflies in the air, and you gasped softly upon seeing them. It was a perfect evening, and you were lucky enough to have Silver next to you.
You gazed at the handsome man out of the corner of your eye, hoping that your lashes would hide the direction of your focus.
Silver walked beside you elegantly, posture perfect, back straight and uniform sadly hiding his refined muscles from years of training. You felt the tops of your cheeks burn at the thought.
Silver was exceedingly beautiful, of course. You would have to be blind to not see it. It occurred to you that even if you were blind, you could perhaps trail your fingers across his refined bone structure and realize his beauty anyway.
You wondered what it would feel like to do so.
What would he feel like?
Getting back to the subject, you were hyper-aware of Silver’s attractiveness. You were enthralled by him, and you had no idea what to do. While Silver was always thoughtful and kind towards you, it was often hard to read, so you had no idea if he reciprocated your feelings of want.
He was so very kind to you, but he was kind to everyone. That thought stung a bit.
If he was indeed kind to everyone, were you being too selfish to think that kindness meant you had a chance? The idea hurt, but once you thought it, it burrowed and writhed just below the surface of your thoughts.
You stopped in your tracks, spying a faint glow pulsing mysteriously in the distance.
“Silver,” You began, “What is that?”
You pointed toward the curious glow. Everything in your body made you want to go towards it, but you knew better than to do that without asking.
“Do you want to look?” Silver asked, as if he read your mind in that very moment.
“Don’t worry, I’ll protect you if anything happens.”
Silver gingerly extended a gloved hand for you to take. You had to force yourself to not thrust your hand into his grasp the moment that he asked.
Deliberately using all of the grace and restraint you could muster, you took Silver’s hand and followed him through the trees to the cause of the glow.
It was like anything you had ever seen. A meadow of bioluminescent flowers surrounded you, softly displaying the area with a warm disbursal of dim light. It felt homey and welcoming, like fairy lights outside in the evening of a perfect summer day.
Silver looked at your wide-eyed wonder with pride. He was so glad that you could both see this together. These plants only glowed under highly-specific conditions, so it was exceedly lucky that you had spotted them. You looked ethereal in the low light, and Silver had to will himself not to stare.
“Prefect?” He asked, praying that his voice wouldn’t shake.
“Yes?”
“...I have a question.”
“What’s your question?” You asked, dragging your focus from the flowers to Silver’s serious expression. It made your heart flutter. Why did he look so focused?
“If you were given a way home right now, would you leave?”
He had finally asked. The sword of damocles that had been swinging over his head was acknowledged. If he wanted to think about the future, and he wanted you in it…
“I’m not sure.” You replied. Your eyes looked far away, staring at the haze of the evening that had yet to beget the stars to shine above the two of you.
“I miss home. I miss it so much that I cried regularly the first few months…”
Silver quietly whispered your name. He desperately wanted to envelop you in a hug, but he refrained while you were still talking.
“At the same time, there are some dreams I have that are starting to make me wonder if here is a better place for me after all.”
Silver’s mouth was dry. What did that mean?
“Like… what dreams?”
Your expression was complex, hopeful, anxious and perhaps…
“Like love? Maybe?” You said with a nervous laugh. Should you tell him? Would that be a mistake?
What if you were misreading the signs?
What if all of his kindness was really just that?
Kindness?
Pity?
What if he-?
Your thoughts were cut off by a firm grip on your waist and a blossoming warmth on your lips.
Silver held you tightly, desperately. He tried to make every word that he couldn’t audibly say be conveyed by the passion of his embrace alone. All of his restraint toppled and laid broken at his feet. There was just you and him in the sweetly fragrant dusk, him stroking your cheek with his thumb and the low light of the flowers hiding the sweet flush of his face.
“Stay. Please. If you have the choice, please stay.” He begged breathlessly.
He would never ask the universe for a single blessing again.
It was you, it would always be you.
You stared into the swirl of emotion in Silver’s eyes as your vision blurred with the swell of salt water. Both of you knew how much he was asking. It felt like a sharp knife to your heart, but you had already made up your mind.
You had made up your mind a while ago, actually.
“If… if you stay with me. Then I will too. I'll stay.” You said, a slight shaking hiccup in your voice.
Silver pulled you into his arms, chest heaving, thoughts in euphoric disarray.
“Yes. Yes, I’ll stay.” He whispered.
The emotions of it all were so overwhelming. He didn’t dare to close his eyes for too long to truly realize that this was a feverish figment of his lovesick imagination.
Silver held the back of your head in his hand, a shaky grasp holding onto you gently.
“You know… you’re lucky that I’m not an actual fae, just raised by them.” He chucked, eyes crinkling in mirth. “A bargain like that could get you into a lot of trouble.”
This time, he had meant it as a joke when you laughed.
“If it’s you, I don’t mind.”
"I feel the same."

Prompt: "Will You Marry Me?" - Proposal Headcannons Characters: Everyone :) Part(s): Heartslabyul, Savanaclaw, Octavinelle, Scarabia, Pomefiore, Ignihyde, Diasomnia( pt.1 Here!)(pt.2) Fandom: Twisted Wonderland Warning(s): None. I mean, unless you don't want to marry any of them. Just don't read if that's the case. Note: These are all if he is the one proposing btw. Also, I went overboard. So much that I exceeded the character limit and need to post Diasomnia in 2 parts. I have favorites I guess :/
Tumblr media
Malleus experienced more firsts over the course of three years than the duration of his life. His first board game session, his first group trip with peers, his first taste of carnival food, his first sleepover, his first true friend - so, so many firsts. All a byproduct of one person walking into his life and taking a genuine interest in him.
You were the first houseguest he personally invited over to Diasomnia. Not for a tour, not for business, not on behalf of another - no. You were Malleus' houseguest, there to visit Malleus and spend time with Malleus. The snacks prepared were for you both to share. The lounge seating reserved for your company. His first time hosting for fun.
You were the first person he ever got a present for outside of his family. How quick your birthday had come, and how startled he became to find he cared. You were older. Growing so quick and changing at an alarming pace. He could see it in your features and mannerisms. Malleus knew that humans aged at a much faster rate than fae. Silver sprouted like a beanstalk. Yet you were blossoming like a flower in spring. How long until you'd wither?
Malleus cared. Not out of curiosity, but something deeper. Malleus did not want a servant to pick your gift, not even his closest companions. He desired to adhere to human custom and do the task himself. He did not trust another to pick something meaningful and to your preference.
You were the first to make him laugh. Your humor being like none he had heard before. Others tend to correct themselves in Malleus' presence, or try to cater to 'his' taste. Even those closest to him, often sharing a joke that flies over his head without any explanation. You did no such thing. Your humor was curious, and perhaps a bit crude. The jokes did fail to land with him, but he still found them funny regardless.
You were the first to make him yearn. Malleus had felt loneliness before. He's been bound in it's searing clutches and taunted. Yet his rooted longing never compelled him to change. He never felt jealous. Until your smile became another's and he felt a hot pit in his stomach. One different than his fiery magic.
You were his first desire.
Malleus fumbled and panicked. He had finally found a friend, yet he wanted more. The realization striking him deep. The first want he had no guarantee of obtaining. Yet his need for you was strong. He could not lose you. Malleus begun to value your presence. Your joy. The new life you breathed into him. He held it as dear as his family. You became his fondest treasure.
Malleus needed to ensure that you would never be taken from him. That you would never change.
You were also his first failure. On the dawn of your second year and his graduation, Malleus proposed. He had forgone all customs and jumped straight to marriage. Love to the fae was a lifetime bond. No power could chain you to him stronger than matrimony. Which is why he demanded your presence in the gardens after the ending ceremony. He decorated according to your tastes, with colorful lanterns and firefly lights strewn across the plants.
He saw the hope in your eyes. The way they sparkled with affection and pride bloomed knowing that he was the cause.
“Malleus….It’s so beautiful. Did you prepare this just for me?” You ask, clutching your hands to your chest. He smiles, reaching into his breast pocket and pulling out a black velvet box in the shape of a rose.
“I’m happy to see you like it; however, I hope this offering pleases you more”
Malleus opens the box to reveal a ring. Your eyes widen owlishly and he interprets it as a good sign. Until you step back.
“Oh Malleus….I can’t accept this. We aren’t even dating!” You deny his unspoken proposal with a shaken tone Malleus’ is unfamiliar with. Not from you.
“Why not? I love you. Is that not enough? Do you not love me?”
He fails to understand why you declined. He spent countless hours studying human customs and expression. No. Studying you. He was confident you returned his affections. So why? Why not leave this place and join him?
You explain to him that you’re incapable of marrying someone you haven’t spent time with romantically. That you do care about him. That you liked him and did feel for him. That you could love him, but not so suddenly. You have friends at NRC and didn’t want to leave. Not to mention how him marrying a human, especially with no warning, would cause so many political problems.
Of course he had already taken all this into consideration. He didn’t care about all that, yet bit his tongue from speaking his mind. Another first for Malleus.
“What if I abide by your terms? Would you allow me to court you properly?” He cuts into your sea of reasons not to be together. They weren’t his concern. Only you.
This gets you. He clearly wasn’t listening. Love blinded the average person, and Malleus’ heart bled. You consider his offer, and agree to his courtship. It would be difficult to maintain considering your distance and his status. Yet they were fickle matters to Malleus.
You were his first failure, yet he didn’t mind. There was no true victory without a bit of labor.
The change that he so feared, it became something Malleus adored. Every time he would whisk you away from NRC, or return for a visit - you were different. You had a new story to share, or had changed your appearance. At first he began to panic once again at how quickly you seemed to evolve without him.
And one day he realized that you would keep changing. He’d see a new you forever. All these new versions. A constant spark and longing that made him realize how precious each one was. They would come whether he bid them to or not - so he had to cherish them. Every version of you was one he loved and lost. Yet the fact that another would emerge kept his heart complacent.
You were his first kiss on a dewy fall morning. You were his first heartfelt dance, dressed in shimmery black satin and pearls that he gifted. You were his first goodnight kiss, and first morning embrace. You were his first comfort after tragedy struck and his first sympathetic heartache. You were everything.
It was no longer about chaining you. He loved his firsts. He would forever remember them.
His first goodbye.
On the cusp of your 3rd year coming to a close, Malleus prepared the ring from two years prior. He would gift it to you after your graduation. It would be yours whether you accepted the meaning behind it or not - the ring could go to no one else.
An announcement arrives to him the week prior via pen and paper. Hand written by you and oh how he so loved your letters. Malleus opened it with calm delight, yet as his eyes traveled across the words he forgot how to control his strength. The paper alit in flames.
‘The Headmaster found a way to send me home. Would you come for a visit?’
The letter was not so blunt, but that’s all he could comprehend. Malleus was not ready to say goodbye. He once thought his greatest fear was to watch his flower wilt, yet now it must be cut to make a bouquet.
As much as it tore him apart, Malleus had to let you go. He couldn’t root you to soil forever. His hands unconsciously drift to the velvet rose box tucked safely in his breast pocket.
It’s only natural you’d be the source of some of Malleus’ lasts. He would never love another.
He joins you days before your ceremony. You explain to him the procedure to return, and he bites his tongue once again. He encourages you, and is happy that you’re happy. The ring burns a hole where his heart lies yet he continues on with grace, ignoring the cautious behavior of your peers whenever he’s around. The only opinion he cared for was yours, and he’d stay as long as you needed.
Malleus missed the way your heart sought his. The way you gave him chance after chance to ask you to stay. How you clung to him despite the roles normally being reversed.
“I guess this is goodbye. I’ll miss you,” you whisper, holding Malleus’ hand and glancing at the glowing portal behind him. Malleus smiles, his eyes softening as he leans forward to kiss your forehead.
“I will never forget your heart,” he murmurs against your skin, and reaches into his breast pocket with fluid movements. Malleus places the velvet rose box in your hands, cradling them gently with both of his.
“This is yours. I had it made for your finger alone, and only you will be the one to wear it. My heart belongs to you. Let this be my final selfish wish, but I hope you will think of me when you look upon it”
Malleus doesn’t understand why you break down. The way you clutch the box to your chest and look at him with such pain. He thought you wanted to go home. Is it not what you waited so long for?
He cannot be strong when you’re crying. How can you be so cruel. He won’t be able to -
“I want to be with you. I love you,” you whisper yet he hears it perfectly clear.
Malleus’ heart stutters and he clutches your shoulders. With one hand he tilts your chin up to look at him. Your eyes splotched with red irritation and glassy with sorrow. He wipes at their edges with his thumbs, cupping your cheeks ans looking at you for any sign of doubt. Any insincerity or fear. Your expression from years prior still lives rent free in his mind…he would not risk your happiness for his selfishness.
He finds nothing and pulls you in his arms. For the first time, Malleus sheds tears born from love. From relief. He wraps his arms protectively around you, and tucks his chin over your head.
“If you love something, let it be free. If it was meant to be yours then it will come back willingly. This is a saying of humans, is it not? I could not have you at the cost of your happiness. You do not deserve such a tainted love…but if this is truly what you desire, then I will not cease my efforts. You are mine, and I will eternally be yours,”
Tumblr media
{Malleus’ ring is hand crafted by the royal blacksmith. Some would assume that there is a ring passed down through generations of the Draconia bloodline. There is not. The fae do not follow such traditions, yet Malleus would not instill all his values onto you. If it is a ring you need, then it is a ring he will get. He decides to reforge a gem plucked from his mother’s staff. The ring is made especially for you, with a teardrop-cut of magic-infused emerald as the focus point. It’s enchanted to reject any hand other than your own, and morphs to the size of your finger. It is subtle, made of pure gold, and a symbol of union between fae and mankind.}

"One should never make a vow of eternal love lightly. Take it from someone with ample life experience"
Lilia often imposes advice without any prompting. The musings of an old man normally went in and out of people's ears anyways. Sometimes it takes experience to learn, and no matter how we try to warn our children - fate is fate. They will go through the motions just as the people before them. Especially when it comes to trials of the heart such as love and loss.
Lilia knows both intimately. They've forged the man he is.
Philia: Love of friendship and equals. His peers, his comrades in arms, his fellow fae. The friends he has lost through death and distance. Those he fought to protect.
Storge: Parental love. To raise the son of his closest friends, and the blood of his sworn enemy. Lilia has fought through loss to feel the gratification of fatherhood. Lilia loves his children.
Agape: Love of man. This one took work. It took losing all he had, and then losing more. Hundreds of years of healing and trying to be better. Even in his final stretch Lilia is still learning this love.
Eros: Passionate, unconditional love. Lilia has felt this once, and only once. The wound still fresh with a dribble of salt steadily halting the healing process. To feel eros is a beautiful thing, but to have it ripped away is enough to kill.
Lilia experienced his fair share, and now enjoys watching those in the prime of life seek out love. He doesn't engage in romantic gossip, but enjoys watching others live their lives. One of his biggest curiosities being you, oddly enough.
This is because you've shown no interest in feeling love of any kind. Being the nosy man he is, Lilia finds your dismissal of others a bit concerning. He's not the most open person himself, yet you're a young human. This is when you should be wild! Surely you must feel something, considering all the 'escapades' you've been on with other students. The best way to bond is over shared trauma - he's not endorsing it. Just stating a fact.
"It's nothing personal. I'd rather not get too attached considering my living circumstances, if you catch my drift" you say in response to his prying.
He indeed 'catches the drift' and sees a bit of himself reflected in you. You were not unkind, yet also not overzealous. You did not push others away, yet also made an effort to protect yourself. For all the kind deeds you've done, Lilia knew better than to think it a case of bleeding heart syndrome. You remind him of how he was when deciding to raise Silver - afraid and very good at hiding it for the sake of others.
He decides to step in against his better judgement. If anything to repay the kindness you've done Malleus and his two youngsters. He couldn't watch you waste the precious life you’ve been given huddled away in isolation. Lilia would become your confident, as he is the most equipped to endure inevitably bidding farewell. If anything he will encourage you to forge stronger bonds of your own accord without fear.
He does an outstanding job at being the extrovert adopting an introvert. His favorite hobby being to startle you - popping out from random places like trees, bushes, the ceiling, your closet, etc. So much that you grow accustomed to his antics and expect them. Going so far as to always carry hard candies in your coat pocket as a peace offering.
He invites you to play online video games, go shopping, and sometimes pops by your dorm with Malleus. However his visits soon become solo, sensing that his adopted son didn't enjoy his 'nightly stroll' with his best friend being invaded. Lilia didn't mind - it meant that he'd get your company all to himself! There was nothing like watching a few horror flicks and tormenting Grimm after them. You even had a guest room in case he felt too ‘lazy’ to fly home.
On your birthday, he bakes a cake and leaves it on your kitchen windowsill. You found it, and even thanked him 'happily' later that day. He never said he was the chef though....you must have quite a keen sense of taste! That or he must be so talented that you know his cooking by heart!
Lilia felt a sense of relief, seeing your mannerisms shift from neutral to happy as time passed. It was hard work ebbing away at those walls of yours. It's not good for humans to be stressed. It lessens their already short lifespan.
He really should step aside. Let you befriend more humans and people that will support your journey. Except he doesn't want to. Philia's taken root in his heart - you're now a friend. An actual one.
So...he doesn't let go.
You join the college's boardgame club, and Lilia feels honored that he's the first you ask to play with. Each time you sought his company made him feel young again. Thrills did tend to follow your wake after all.
You often spent many evenings teaching Malleus, Silver, and even Sebek about your world. Not something Lilia planned for, but seeing you open up about it put his mind at ease. The different cultures, history, trends - Lilia listens in happily as well. Going so far as to learn some of your favorite recipes. He wants to cook them right away, but agrees to wait for your company. You grew nervous when he brought the topic up, possibly because you didn't want to be left out? Surely, that must be why.
Soon comes another January 1st - Signifying a new year and also Lilia’s birthday. The night prior he was out on the prowl, flying free throughout campus, watching people party and celebrate. Normally he’d spend this evening having fun of his own, but being caged at a school left him little chances to be free. Jumping across rooftops and sneaking around doing parkour was a trip down memory lane. The fireworks and lively people made for an excellent atmosphere.
By chance he happened on your rooftop, and decided to pop in for a quick respite. Slipping in through an open window was child’s play, as was avoiding your paranormal houseguests and popping in and out of rooms.
His keen hearing picks up your voice coming from the main bedroom - and normally he wouldn’t invade a personal space but the door was open. So obviously it was an invitation. He sticks to the ceiling and crawls to a shrouded corner with a mischievous grin.
How unsuspecting you were - dressed up in fancy clothes and muttering to yourself while in front of a floor length mirror. Lilia thinks you’re going to a party and is prepping to tag along -
“Alright. I can do this,” you mutter and turn around to pace the floor. A neatly wrapped present is clutched tight in your hands - wrapped in ivory paper with a sparkly pink ribbon. Lilia freezes just when he’s about to jump down, and clings back to the wall. “Just give it to him. Give it and tell him how you feel,” you turn towards the mirror, holding the box out, “Hello there Lilia. Yes, this is a birthday present. Yes, you’re a year older, how exciting! By the way I really like you so would you want to go on a date?” You fall silent, cringing in disgust at your reflection before sitting on the bed, “Ah. That was such dogshit”
Lilia exits as swift as he entered. The night air whips against his skin as he transforms into a bat and is already on the way back home. The implications of what he just witnessed weighing heavily on his mind.
This would not be the first time someone has caught feelings for him. You don't go 700 years without any suitors - he'd always turn them down with careful consideration.
Except he doesn't want to this time. That's the major issue.
The flight home was long, with purposeful detours until he felt tired enough to retire. A familiar bitter ache stung his heart. He'd only felt this disappointment once prior, and swore off letting it bud again.
Eros.
Lilia was in love too. He recognized the passion growing long before this moment, and against his better judgement let it fester.
"Seems I'm not as equipped to handle this as I once believed" he says to no-one and moves to play some online games instead of sleeping.
Lilia once felt a love he couldn’t express through anything other than fealty and devotion. It was a darker time where there was no promise of future. He swore not to endure that pain again - yet this is similar yet also different. The love is blooming effortlessly. His devotion is growing. The desire is there and so is the fear. All the same feelings yet without the dire weight of external forces adding pressure. This time it’s his choice to follow through. There’s no bigger force at play stopping him. Not even your mortality, considering how his lifespan is almost at its close.
Yet for all his years of wisdom, the thought of putting his heart out was still as frightening as the first.
In truth, Lilia had ulterior reasons for pursuing your companionship other than worry or repaying a debt. Your behaviors did remind him of his past self. That was no lie. He simply felt affection blooming upon your first meeting and thought having your friendship would morph it into something more tame. He had a habit of drawing in lost souls - what was one more?
Now the affection is stronger, and you return it.
Heavens, was he being given another chance? After all these years.
You return it. It's requited. He needn't hide it for the sake of someone else's happiness. Lilia could be selfish, if only he let himself.
The next day, Lilia finds an ivory box with a sparkly pink ribbon outside his door. A neatly written letter is attached, with the words 'Happy Birthday' written on the front. His name is written on the tag in black ink, with your name signed as the sender.
Lilia picks it up and undoes the wrapping with nimble movements. Inside is an assortment of treats that he wanted to try from your home, and a neatly folded letter atop them. It details exactly what was expected, a perfect explanation of your feelings that's entirely different than the nervous display he intruded upon.
He looks around the hallway, checking to see if you’re nearby before disappearing without a trace. Nothing but an open door showing that he left.
Everything after is a blur. While doing the dishes back at your dorm and trying not to think of the present - Lilia appears out of nowhere, startling you for what was probably the first time in months. His typical cheeky grin and snicker were nowhere in sight.
He says one thing, “Are you certain?”. The words held a heavy meaning for the both of you.
Asking if he’s willing to go for one last chance. To take one final risk or simply be satisfied with all he’s accomplished thus far. It asks if you’re willing to do the same - to risk everything you’ve built in one fell swoop.
You nod, and Lilia smiles. Not an impish smirk or a snarky grin. A true, soft smile that is full of released tension. He happily hugs you from behind as you finish working in silence, gradually slipping back to his playful ways yet not entirely. He would remain the out of touch peepaw that you so loved to tease him as, but a bit of his youthful spirit was being revived. His inner self being healed, perhaps.
He loves you, and the world hasn’t split in two. It was his time.
Finally.
From then on he had no reservations in loving you. This was a new form of eros. A new passion filled with joy and living for the moment - versus the weight of time holding him back like it did when he was younger. Nothing changed in your dynamic other than he now had the strength to let himself love freely.
Which is exactly why he wastes no more time. Just as he told you off hand long ago, one should not make a vow of eternal love lightly. He’d take his own advice and seek his own happiness for the first time in hundreds of years.
On a random night with no inkling of warning, Lilia drags you out of bed to the Ramshackle rooftop in nothing but your nightclothes. It wasn’t the first time he’d ask for a midnight escapade - just for the thrill and surprise, most of the time. He loved to keep things exciting.
Except he was being far too gentle. Far too nostalgic. He sits you down on the edge of the roof and puts his cardigan over your shoulders. Not a word passes between you as he tucks it snug around your shoulders - his hand tracing the line of your cheekbones, down your arms and to your hands. He cradles them gently, never taking his eyes from yours.
Then something foreign glimmers against your finger. In an effortless motion, he slipped the ring on without pause. You can’t help but stare at the gem in thought, looking between it and Lilia’s thoughtful expression over and over.
Lilia nods, taking your hand in his and running his thumb over the ring - admiring it against your skin.
“I’ve lived many years. Lead many lives. I thought I had accepted my nearing end, yet I find myself wanting more. I want to grey with grace at your side. To enjoy mundane evenings - greet you come morning and kiss you to seal a day’s end. I want my last life to be at your side, if only you will have me”
Tumblr media
{A blood red garnet placed inside a blossom frame. Lilia’s ring is made of silver, and gives the illusion of a red rose in a bed of vines. Red is the color of passion, devotion, and unconditional love. Red roses hold this very meaning in the language of flowers. Lilia has felt this before - but you are his fated. You have chosen him simply for the person he is - not who he needs to be. He can finally be free and at peace. Your love is something he can selfishly hoard and it gives him the desire to enjoy life. He feels full. Happy. He hopes that this ring shows that he wants to live for the moment by your side, eternally}

Imagine being MC and just seeing the past and trauma of the diasomnia squad. Seeing them grow and change. Seeing them go through their lowest to their highest moments. Becoming close to them in a short amount of time.
What do you do after that? How do you act after all is said and done and everything is settled? Imagine waking up and having this seemingly new bond out of nowhere with the diasomnia squad? I can imagine the first years would be flabbergasted 🤣🤣
But also the potential hilarity of it all?
🦇Lilia: You know too much about us. There’s only one way to settle this.
-gestures to Malleus, Sebek, and Silver-
🦇Lilia: Choose one of them to be your boyfriend…

Can you do the same thing you did for Jack, Idia, Leona, Riddle in the other reading about the ghost groom but with Diasmonia. If you can’t do all four then just Lilia and Sebek is fine!
Hello, thank you for the ask! I had a lot of fun with the last one, I hope you enjoy this one as well!
Diasomnia (separate) reacts to their fem!s/o with a ghost groom
Malleus
He's surprised at first at why you aren't in Ramshackle during the late night. But then Grim runs to him telling him what happened, Sebek is following behind Grim and shouting the same thing. Apparently you were about to be sprited away by a ghost groom of some kind.
The fae prince won't take this lightly. Though most may think he's pretty chill, when it comes to someone he wants to spend the rest of his life with, he's a bit possessive. The entire school will feel a certain rumble and Malleus basically runs to wherever you could be. He finds you soon enough at the dining hall, a wedding dress and all.
"I'm sorry, but what are you doing trying to take my rose?" Malleus says in a calm yet terrifying voice, his eyes are glued on the ghost groom who looks angry that someone interrupted the wedding ceremony. You're just happy to see Malleus again, but in the back of your mind you can't help wonder if he's going to overblot :/
The ghost and the fae are about to duel it out (and potentially destroy the entire school grounds) but then a bridesmaid ghost jumps in between the two of them and cries for mercy. "We just want to see the prince happy for once, please let him at least get this chance," the maid said. But Malleus wasn't having it :/
Thankfully, the groom was moved by the maid's courage and quickly called the marriage off. The wedding ceremony was instead held for the groom and the maid, who was just overjoyed by the situation. You snuck next to Malleus who looked relieved that you were alright, but you could also see a blush creep up his face.
"You look beautiful," he commented, a small smile playing on his lips. Dang it, he beat you to making the partner flustered. The two of you share a waltz at one point in the night, it's quite magical. You're just happy Malleus is with you and he's feeling the same way (also dreaming of what kind of a wedding you two will have)
Lilia
He thought it was a prank when Grim and Silver came running to him about you being abducted by a wedding-frenzied group of ghosts. But after attempting to call you a few times, he realized that yeah, maybe you really were about to die
He decides to look at the dining hall first, remembering what happened between Eliza and Idia the last time something similar occurred. Turns out he was right, and you were standing at the front of the aisle with a terrified look on your face. You looked like you were about to cry, and he was not having it!
"You all won't mind if I interrupt the wedding, right?" Lilia hung upside down right in between you and the ghost, scaring the both of you. He jumps down and keeps you behind him as the ghost was about to attack.
"What are you doing, trying to steal my future wife?" the ghost shouts. "Excuse me, but you're the rude one, spirited creep," Lilia taunts back, only escalating the tension. Before the ghost can land a blow on Lilia and before Lilia can shoot some magic, a maid throws herself before the ghost and gets hit instead! You make a loud gasp and the ghost prince himself shouts the maid's name. The maid thanks the ghost prince for everything, but that now her time is almost over. "N-no, please, don't leave, you're the one that's been with me since forever," he cries, and with a simple kiss it was clear that there was some kind of true love's magic going on.
This helped kick you out of the bride position as the maid and the groom instead got married. The party still went on, with Lilia and you happily congratulating the newlyweds. Lilia gets pulled to sing some songs too at some point haha.
But Lilia can't help stare at you for most of the night. You looked stunning, just ethereal with the way the ornaments were placed in your hair, the way the dress hugged you, etc. "Did I mention how cute you look, love?" he says, placing a hand in yours. You blush as he laughs at how adorable you look being flustered.
Silver
He's sleeping when Grim runs and basically jumps on his stomach. Silver yelps and shoots up from his bed, looking around dazed at the crowd that's in his room. "...What?" he then gets a bunch of people yelling at him that somehow you were about to be spirited away in some ghost marriage. Oh. That.
Though people thought he might go back to sleep, he bolts out and just runs to the dining hall. He knows that the hall is likely where the ghosts would want a ceremony, thus rushing there. He was right, and he saw you in a beautiful dress. He almost forgot he was on a mission to save you because of how much he loved how you looked haha
He runs but is confronted by the guards of the ghost prince. "Move, I need to save my love," Silver says in a stern voice. You shout his name in joy but the groom looks at Silver with disdain. "Your lover?! What imposter are you!"
Silver manages to fight off some ghosts but help is quickly found in the form of Sebek and Lilia. Silver runs to the front of the aisle to save you, but before he can continue (and before you can kick the groom in the face) a maid runs from out of nowhere and tackles Silver. "There! You can now kiss her, my lord! Please, I just want you to be happy!" the maid shouts, but her eyes look sad. Thankfully, the groom caught on after a few minutes of struggling from you and Silver.
"No, I think I know who loves me and who I love back," he suddenly says. Silver and you pause, staring at the guy. He then declares that the wedding shall instead be between the prince and the maid, to which all the ghosts (and students) rejoice. Silver sighs, saying what a pain this prince was.
The party goes on but you just take Silver's hand and leave early. "I know you want to go back to bed," you laugh. He nods, but he keeps his eyes glued on you. You look beautiful. He hopes that he can dream of you two having your own wedding tonight, but until then, he just happily strolls through the hallways with you in hand.
Sebek
People were looking for Sebek but Sebek was already looking for you haha. He realized that you weren't at Ramshackle because he didn't see you in the hallway at 6:32:42 pm. Grim and Crowley are shocked at Sebek's preciseness and keenness, but Lilia just says he's the same as ever.
Sebek basically runs around the whole campus before stopping by at the dining hall, seeing a flood of ghosts and students there. To make matters worse, you were at the front of the dining hall with a wedding dress, in front of a ghost! He blushed at how beautiful you looked, but he quickly pushed his way to the front, quickly dodging all of the ghosts that tried to stop him.
"CEASE THIS FOOLISHNESS! LET HER GO!" Sebek booms at the ghost, causing both you and the groom to flinch at Sebek's intense aura. "And who may you be, green bean?" the ghost retorted, an annoyed expression on his face. "G-green what?! No matter, I am Sebek Zigvolt, and the beauty standing next to you is my partner!"
Both the groom and Sebek weren't having it with each other. There was absolutely no way to convince either party to give you up, so there was a brawl that was started. The two of them were shooting magic at each other until a maid jumped in between the two of them and told them to stop, saying it was pointless to fight like this. She explained the ghost prince's dilemma and how much it would mean for her and the other ghosts to see him happy again. Thankfully, this was what moved the ghost prince's heart.
"No, you're wrong, I don't want to marry that human," the prince says, cutting off the maid's argument against the ever-so adamant Sebek. "I want to marry you," the prince placed a hand on the maid's. After that, the wedding between you and the ghost was called off and instead it was between the maid and the prince. You were relieved, and so was Sebek, with him giving a proud smile at you.
"I'm just glad you're safe," he says when you two are together. "B-but I also wanted to s-say you look beautiful in that dress," he stammers out a bit later. "Aw, thank you, my handsome," you smile at him, making him blush even harder. He can't help but imagine you two getting married, and just how enchanting you would be there too. But before he can get carried off, you and Sebek return back to your respective dorms.
