I forgot the Daily Mail takedowns. Doh! (I kept that list separately and just totally forgot about it.) Tumblr is being weird when I try to update the other post so I'm putting the Daily Mail stuff here and I'll also add them to the main post.

Thomas Markle Jr. claims that Harry met Thomas during July 2016.

The Daily Mail claims Harry took Meghan to L.A. for a weekend of partying that sealed the deal and became officially boyfriend-girlfriend.

Meghan travels to Spain with Misha Nonoo. I think Markus Anderson is there too (there's a photo of a guy who looks like him with Meghan and Misha) but I can't tell.

9/8/2016: Harry is voted world's most hottest royal.

10/27/2016 - 11/4/2016: Harry is claimed to be in Toronto and a new version of how they met - in this version, they met at a charity event and Harry kept texting Meghan until she agreed to a date.

11/1/2016: Samatha Markle speaks out for the first time and a story about Meghan's fashion is published.

11/3/2016: Misha Nonoo revealed as the mutual friend that set Harry and Meghan up. Daily Mail publishes a "No one wants to marry Harry and he's desperate for love but Meghan isn't The One" editorial.

11/4/2016: Meghan pap walks and merches a hotel. Daily Mail publishes about Meghan's ancestry and that Meghan looks like Pippa.

11/5/2016: Meghan leaks that she wants to spend Christmas with Harry in the UK. Daily Mail publishes a "Diana wouldn't like Meghan" editorial.

11/23/2016: An article about Harry making a tribute to Meghan while on the Caribbean tour is published. This is the very first "sweet nod" PR piece, though the phrase isn't actually used in the article.

11/25/2016: Daily Mail reports that William is not happy with Harry's love shield statement. This only fuels the rumors.

11/27/2016: Meghan and Priyanka's friendship is revealed.

12/9/2016: Yoga pap walk to merch Harry's bracelet

12/10/2016: Harry is hunting in Bavaria with friends and Meghan goes shopping in Toronto while the rest of the Suits cast attends Patrick Adams's wedding in California. Meghan claims she knew her attendance at the wedding would bring out the paparazzi and after discussing it with Patrick, decided to stay home to give them privacy. Rumors begin of a falling out between Meghan and the Suits cast over her behavior (e.g., entitlement and demands for special treatment) since dating Harry. Rumors that Meghan had an affair with one of her Suits castmates also resurface.

12/17/2016: The Markles sell photos of Meghan's childhood.

12/20/2016: Daily Mail writes about Meghan's topless photos and one of the first Kate hitjobs is published, an article that says Meghan has a better fashion style than Kate and that Kate should take inspiration from her.

12/21/2016: Daily Mail writes about Meghan's racy Suits scenes and an article claiming Meghan has been harassed and attacked by her half-sister is published, beginning Meghan's victim narrative. The Samantha article leads to speculation that Meghan dragged these issues up and into the public to bury her topless photos and sexy scenes. Later, it is also speculated that "Everyone Loves Classy" is meant to repair Meghan's reputation to make her royal appropriate.

12/27/2016: Yoga pap walk with Doria.

12/30/2016: A "Meghan is just like Diana" article is published, talking about Meghan's humanitarian work in and interest in Africa.

1/1/2017: The Daily Mail publishes more of Meghan's racy photos.

1/4/2017: Tom Markle Jr. confirms that Harry has met Thomas Markle "about six months ago" and that Thomas has known about the relationship since the very beginning.

1/6/2017: Another Kate hit job is published, stating that the Duchess will have to deal with being compared to Meghan, whose philanthropy is far more successful.

1/7/2017: Meghan leaks that she will be attending Skippy's wedding with Harry.

1/10/2017: The Daily Mail publishes photographs and stories about Meghan's first wedding to Trevor.

1/11/2017: Meghan spreads engagement rumors to E News! It's later confirmed that E News is one of Meghan's go-tos to leak info about the royals and her relationship so there's a solid confidence that she's trying to push Harry's hand.

1/14/2017: Meghan leaks to the Daily Mail that Harry plans to take her skiing in Verbier and her brother, Tom Markle Jr., has been arrested.

1/17/2017 - 1/18/2017: More information and details about Tom Jr.'s arrest are published.

1/20/2017: Kensington Palace announces that William and Kate are moving back to London in the fall when William's contract with EAAA ends in the summer.

1/22/2017: Meghan is papped at the airport in Mumbai, preparing to go home after 5 days in India for World Vision. There is some speculation that Meghan was a last-minute addition to the India program to get some good PR following her brother's drama but it's quickly debunked when a) veteran blogs point out that Meghan's strategy to bury bad news/criticism is a pap walk or a royal connection, not going off the radar and b) her November interview with Vancouver Star plugging the India trip is rediscovered.

1/27/2017: Meghan spreads rumors that they're really engaged now and Harry proposed over a glass of champagne.

1/28/2017: Kensington Palace announces that William and Harry have commissioned a statue of Diana for the KP gardens.

1/31/2017: Meghan tips off the Daily Mail about an article she wrote for The Tig about her dream bachelorette party. Rumors begin that this is Meghan announcing her availability to sponsors for merching opportunities in the UK when she marries Harry.

2/22/2017: A Cambridge hit job is published, pointing out that they don't hold hands and aren't affectionate in public.

2/25/2017: Meghan tries to convince us that she's firmly established in the UK with a group of society girls who've become close friends.

2/26/2017: Toronto pap walk to merch an elephant bracelet

2/28/2017: The Daily Mail publishes that Meghan has never met a freebie she didn't turn down.

3/5/2017: Meghan merches Cartier.

3/12/2017: Meghan leaks that Pippa doesn't want her at the wedding and has banned her with a "no ring, no bring" rule.

3/13/2017: The Daily Mail publishes a story and photographs of Meghan's very special episode of 90210. It's later that that Meghan leaked about William's dad dancing in Switzerland to bury this but more likely, it's Meghan's leaks that she will meet The Queen soon that are meant to bury the 90210 work.

3/20/2017: "Meghan is still the same girl I've always known, this fame isn't changing her" editorial by Lindsey Roth is published. This is in response to quiet-but-growing-louder speculation that Meghan has a new sense of entitlement, attitude, and rudeness.

4/3/2017: It's announced that Samantha Markle plans to write a book about Meghan. (Meghan gives her first brief against her sister the next day, on 4/4, largely in response to this news.)

4/8/2017: Meghan claps back against Pippa's "no ring, no bring" rule via an editorial.

4/9/2017: Meghan leaks that she loves Africa and Harry is taking her to visit again in October when Suits wraps.

4/20/2017: Meghan commissions a "Meghan is just like Kate" piece in the Daily Mail.

4/28/2017: Middleton hit job, accusing them of spending more time with the Cambridge children than their royal relatives. (Honestly, this reads more like a Charles hit job than Meghan's but it's part of a larger trend of Meghan sourcing stories that attack Kate.)

If you ever feel like a failure. This is for you.

JK Rowling made a self-insert fic basically whining about everyone getting her for being a TERF that's pretty much unreadable because it's 1000 pages of mostly tweets. And it's rated 4.2 stars on GoodReads and Amazon.

Queen Elizabeth in her death was praised as a huge humanitarian despite colonizing multiple countries and scolding Princess Diana for helping gay men with aids during the height of the aid epidemic.

Trump somehow became president despite multiple failed businesses on the grounds of knowing money and being a billionaire because people believed he could fix the economy.

Elon Musk is praised for being self made and inventing electric cars despite doing absolutely nothing for the invention of Tesla, he simply bought the company after the fact with wealth he inherited.

JK Rowling is praised for being the first female author to make it big in spite of sexism when there's so many female authors that did it better with female lead characters decades before JK Rowling got published (Tamora Pierce to name one and she's far more humble about it). Like fr you're gonna praise JK Rowling as a feminist. Harry Potter is a male lead book. Gods damn House of Night does more for feminism and that's got the worst Mary Sue character I've ever read.

So many billionaires are praised for mediocrity every day. Trust me. Every single one of your accomplishments, even if it's just for writing a semi-successful fanfic, is far more impressive that 90٪ of the billionaires that get praised daily for literally existing.

Marvel in your accomplishments. Trust me, you may not be a billionaire but your work is far more impressive than any of these billionaires. Work 3 jobs to afford rent? They could never! Get out of bed despite your chronic pain? Trump couldn't even go to the army with shin splints! Wake up every morning and pump yourself up despite depression? JK Rowling can't even deal with the criticisms of some random Tumblr user! You think she could honestly deal with your demons?

You're good, bestie. Every day you fight and overcome more than these assholes can even imagine.

17 headcannons for march 17. that are so widely spread in this fandom that I'm not even completely sure what is cannon anymore

1. Neither Linus nor Arthur are coffee drinkers, usually Arthur prefers cocoa and Linus tea but you won't catch these two drinking coffee, even tho it might seem like they'd need it!

2. Arthur Parnassus, a Swifty or lover of 80s tunes? Actually both can be true.

3. Zoe's hair flowers bloom affected by her emotions. When with Helen, they are usually pink. Literally, no idea whether or not that's canon.

4. Helen's a redhead.

5. Linus becomes a true fashionista on the island. It's starts with the egg adventure outfit and once he gets comfortable in his skin, he and Zoe go on elaborate shopping trips and his wardrobe becomes even more colourful than mine.

6. Arthur had an extravagant sock collection with the most colourful and patterned socks possible. Of course this is supported by textual evidence, but if we are honest to ourselves, there's only three pairs of socks mentioned red, purple and the one with the clouds. It's completely possible that he just has colourful but one-coloured socks and just this one pair with a pattern. No, i know that's unrealistic.

7. Mr. Graves. Y'all are gonna tell me that that's Not the canon name of the orphanage Arthur went to? Like i thought this was a fact and I haven't even finished @davidbowielovesyou s amazing fanwork "stay" which you can find on ao3 and should be smarter about then me and read it

8. This might be a personal one but Helen is a skater. It's her and her rollerblades against the sand on the concrete.

9. Everyone is autistic. I was gonna say: "only Linus is confirmed autistic" but that's not actually true is it? Tho i think we can use our critical reading skills here and come to the obvious conclusion that he is. But so are phee and Chauncey and Lucy and...

10. Except for Arthur who has ADHD.

11. The term island dads. I'm not actually sure if the TJ knows that name, it certainly originated on Tumblr. But if he knows it👀 Hiii! Love yr work, obviously. Just think about it, the name could have been Anus and i do not like that

12. Linus and Arthur are constantly dancing. Especially in the kitchen!

13. Young Arthur was a punk and an activist and he probably wore multicoloured doc martens

14. Also Linus is obsessed with Princess Diana. I know I personally made that up but i still forgot whether or not it was true

15. There's an underground rebellion going on, that we don't know anything about but these definitely actions and protests for magical rights going on under the radar

16. Doreen aka Ms. bubblegum is either part of said rebellion or secretly also an unregistered magical being. I think she's very neat and it would fit her character to do something this pretty right one dicomys nose.

17. While Arthur of course is cold resistent due to his phoenix abilities, Linus is not which means that when they put David to bed at night Linus insists to wear winter clothes every time so he can say good night, no matter how often Arthur and David tell him that's really not necessary @islanddads is the mind behind this one

Netflix’s Do Revenge dropped and was an immediate hit. In gaming news, fans celebrated the 7th anniversary of Undertale with an outpouring of fan art, folks are loving Splatoon 3, and the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild finally announced its title and release date, May 12, 2023. The Owl House also finally got a release date for the first episode in its third and final season, October 15th. Readers devoured Nona the Ninth, the third book in the Locked Tomb series, and wow did it leave us with plenty of emotions and questions. Finally I'm doing this tag game! Thanks @insilanar and @c2-eh for the tag 💕 1. Are you named after anyone? My parents says no, but my name isn´t that common here in Portugal, so idk. The funny thing is I know why they chose my middle name. It was chosen by the aunts of my father (that I always treated like my grandparents) and it was the name of a person they worked for. Actually, they wanted my parents to name me after that person, but my mother didn't like the name, so she chose Diana and put the other name as my middle name. I already asked her if she chose Diana because of the princess, but she always says no 🤷‍♀️ 2. When was the last time you cried? I'm a very emotional person. I tear up with everything. I CRIED WATCHING ICE AGE 1. I don't remember the last time I cried sobbing and everything, but just crying I think it was when I watched ep 3 of The Last of Us (I cried more on this episode than all the others). 3. Do you have kids? No. 4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? A bit yes, but only with people I'm comfortable. And I find it easier doing it in Portuguese. I also used to write a blog (in Portuguese) and used it a lot. Sometimes I feel I've lost that ability. Have to start writing again to see. 5. What sports do you play/have played? Nothing 😂 I mean, I played sports in school. I had a mandatory subject called Physical Education. We played football, basketball, handball, voleyball, badminton... I was very bad at everything 🥲 (badminton I wasn't so bad). I loved when we had some step classes. When I finished school, I did pilates, but I think it isn't considered a sport ahahah Now I basically walk a lot.

6. What's the first thing you notice about other people? Oh, I have to think a bit. Accessories (glasses (it's not an accessory, bur oh well), rings, necklaces, earrings...) I think. Don't know why but... Also hands, hands and teeth.

7. Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings. I really don´t like scary movies. 8. Any special talents? Hmmm, I don't think I have any. Crying watching Ice Age 1? 😂 9. Where were you born? Portugal. 10. What are your hobbies? Tumblr 😂, reading, writing (a bit on hiatus), watching things (youtube videos, tv shows, movies, f1...), be with family and friends...

11. Do you have any pets? No, but my sister has 2 cute cats 😊 12. How tall are you? 1.61m. 13. Fave subjects in school? Biology, Music (unfortunately only had 2 years), Portuguese, Arts.

14. Dream Job? I think I'm still trying to find it. Changed jobs to one I could write, but I'm still not totally happy. (I work as a copywriter. I think it's all the advertising thing that is making me meh 😒). 15. Eye colour? Brown (almost black).

There are two main stories in the royal sphere during this time that we know Meghan is paying attention to, as these most definitely shape her understanding of what it means to be royal: royals taking glamorous summer vacations and daily coverage of Diana's life, the impact of her death, and her lasting legacy to the world.

August 2017: Throughout the month, there are frequent articles about the various royal families having glamorous vacations in luxurious tropical resorts. Here is a selection of them:

Diana speaks from the grave to say she loves Kate but doesn't think Meghan is right for Harry. (August 2)

Diana was into alternative medicine and was worried about the royal family taking her children. (August 4; in hindsight, it reads like a Meghan plant.)

Mohamed Fayed still mourns Dodi and Diana, still believes the BRF ordered their deaths to keep Diana from marrying a Muslim. (August 4)

How Diana worked with the paparazzi and knew how to take a good picture. (August 6)

Media preview/announcement of the new Diana documentary, which has footage from/about William and Harry. Their footage in the documentary includes them discussing Philip's "If you walk, I'll walk" promise.

August 2, 2017: E News (a confirmed Meghan mouthpiece) publishes a timeline of the Harkle relationship, hinting something big is coming for her birthday.

August 3, 2017: Daily Mail begins recapping Suits; in today's episode, Rachel Zane has trouble planning her wedding and her father tells her "Whatever Rachel wants, Rachel gets."

August 4, 2017: Meghan's 36th birthday and she gets the full-court press coverage of her dreams:

Meghan tells E News that she and Doria have been visiting London. They stayed for a week at the end of July when she had a break from filming Suits.

Meghan hints to People that they're engaged, and People speculates about the royal engagement ring.

A timeline is published of how Meghan's celebrity evolved to the sophisticated fashionist she is now.

Harry whisks Meghan away to Africa. She calls the paps, who takes photos of Harry and Meghan being escorted by airport security as they walk on the runway. In the photos, Meghan is carrying two hats and a large paper-wrapped gift. She hints to friendly publications that the wrapped gift is her birthday present from Harry. Speculation begins that Meghan, who is almost always papped carrying a hat or wearing one, uses the hats to signal to the paps where she is (it's a common tactic in Hollywood).

August 5, 2017: Daily Mail publishes a story about all the girls Harry has taken to Africa.

August 6, 2017: It's revealed Harry attended a three-day Google "summer camp" in Italy earlier in the summer. (I couldn't find specific dates for Google Camp, but I found several other articles that suggested Google Camp was the week of July 30, 2017. Also, Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King were at the very same Google Camp that Harry attended...)

Also on August 6, 2017, Penny Junor waxes poetic on how much Harry hs changed since dating Meghan and everything the couple has in common. including how much 'at home' they are in Africa where their celebrity doesn't matter.

August 7, 2017: Dan Wooten advises Meghan to learn from Diana's mistake and not confirm to the firm; she should be unapologetically herself. Meghan gets the cover of Hello Magazine and the Harkles merch their houseboat safari to the Mirror.

August 8, 2017: Laine has the scoop on Harry and Meghan's African holiday and she "speculates" on the timing of their engagement and when they would announce it. Paul Burrell, Diana's infamous ex-butler, says Kate doesn't have Diana's magic star quality and immediately the mainstream British press rises to Kate's defense.

August 11, 2017:

The British public wants William to be King next, not Charles.

The Daily Mail publishes another expose of Meghan and includes the revelation that Trevor thinks she cheated on him in Toronto. This leads to more rumors that Meghan isn't a good fit to the royal family and that she's hiding many more skeletons.

August 12, 2017: Gossip gets printed that Meghan doesn't want to marry Harry and she is only using him to boost her career prospects.

August 13, 2017:

It's confirmed that the ratings for Suits have increased enormously since the Harkle relationship was revealed.

Later, Hollywood industry gossip hints that Suits was "on the bubble" (i.e., in danger of being cancelled) due to poor ratings but the new blockbuster ratings following the Harkle relationship reveal stayed their execution.

The Daily Mail calls Meghan a "princess in waiting," all but confirming an engagement, and continues to drip more information about Meghan in another expose, this one about her relationship with Cory.

Harry gets a 'Hero Harry' PR piece published about his work in mental health.

Meghan leaks to the Daily Star that Harry proposed and she has accepted.

Also on August 13, 2017, Mike Tindall gives an interview in which he speaks about Meghan. He gives her the stamp of approval and says they (he and Zara, but probably all of the Phillipses, including Anne) haven't met her yet. The Daily Mail's story about Mike's comments also includes the first reporting that Harry treated Meghan to a weekend stay at a friend's house in the Hollywood Hills at some point in Fall 2016 (we know now this to be the Beckhams' house, but there some split of opinion on when this visit took place - some say Thanksgiving, some say Christmas, others say it wasn't tied to a holiday). The article also shares some details about the relationship that are inconsistent with their narrative as we know now (and knew back then).

Harry and Meghan had a date at Wimbledon and sat together in the royal box. (Didn't happen, becuase it would've been all over the papers if it did.)

Harry and Meghan spent all of July 2016 and August 2016 apart because Harry was in Africa. Meghan flew to London in September 2016 because she missed him too much. (This debunks the Harkles's own claim that they met in July and that Meghan went to Africa with Harry in August.)

August 14, 2017: The Daily Mail discusses Meghan's ancestry and geneaology; her father's family is Irish and Dutch, her mother is descended from American slaves.

Also on August 14th, the Daily Mail publishes an article about whether it's appropriate to ask someone if they're pregnant. It has nothing to do with Meghan, but it does cause some speculation that the press knows something they're not telling (i.e., Meghan's so insistent pushing Harry to the altar because of a bun in the oven). It's probably a coincidence, but I'll let you decide.

August 15, 2017: The mother of a childhood friend of Meghan revealed that Meghan was obsessed with her video recording of Charles and Diana's 1981 wedding and that Meghan was inspired by Diana's humanitarian work. Serena Williams does an interview and photoshoot with Vogue Magazine, and Meghan is asked for quotes about Serena to use in the story.

Also on August 15, Meghan publishes the "10 Women Who Changed My Life" essay for Glamour Magazine. #7 on her list is the actress Julia Roberts. Later in 2023, it's speculated that Meghan uses Julia Roberts for style inspiration when she wants to appear relatable or is doing an "America's Sweetheart" PR campaign because many of her outfits are copies of Julia Roberts' costumes.

August 16, 2017: British oddsmakers have opened bets for Harry and Meghan getting engaged and when the wedding would take place. The article says Meghan hasn't yet met The Queen.

August 17, 2017: The Daily Mail continues to recap Suits. In today's episode, Rachel Zane rows with Mike Ross over his lies.

August 18, 2017: It's confirmed that William and Harry have cameos as stormtroopers in the new Star Wars film.

August 20, 2017: The royal family is papped at Balmoral going to church. Plant does a three-part feature on how Meghan's PR has completely torpedoed Harry's "Hero Harry" PR and turned him into a rich celebrity.

August 21, 2017: Harry leaks to Camilla Tominey that he picks Meghan up from the airport all the time because he's worried about her security and privacy. The Daily Mail writes that Kate's jewelry collection is a tribute to Diana.

Also on August 21st, a royal blogger writes about Meghan's faith and religious history following conversations she had with Samantha Markle. She concludes that Meghan has never been a faithful person (the Markles aren't a religious sort) and that Meghan has never been baptized or confirmed into any faith, not even Judaism as Meghan claimed she was when she was married to Trevor. Her research indicates that Meghan needs to be baptized and confirmed into the Church of England per royal protocol to marry Harry. This causes discussion in the royal fandom about whether The Queen could withhold consent unless Meghan is baptized and confirmed.

August 24, 2017: Meghan hints to Harper's Bazaar that she and Harry are engaged.

August 25, 2017: Meghan leaks that the African holiday is over and that the trip ended at Victoria Falls.

August 28, 2017: Well-wishers begin leaving flowers outside the Kensington Palace gates for the anniversary of Diana's death. William and Harry later view the tributes (on August 30th).

August 29, 2017: The Cambridges have officially moved back to London and Kensington Palace. William and Kate to be full-time royals as George goes off to school. The Express continues hyping up an engagement.

August 30, 2017

The 100th episode of Suits airs. According to the Daily Mail recaps, Rachel Zane and Mike row again. (They're not a very happy couple, are they?)

The royal family uses the Balmoral Test against prospective new family members. Wallis Simpson bombed it.

William, Kate, and Harry visit the new Diana memorial garden at Kensington Palace. It's Harry's first Court Circular appearance since July 28, 2017, and Kate's last appearance before her third pregnancy is announced.

A couple of things about Botswana in response to some of the royal-watching commentary that I rediscovered on the Botswana airport pap pics:

There was a great deal of special treatment by the airport because they were escorted by airport workers across the tarmac. This is standard practice in most of the smaller African airports. I went to Africa for vacation in June this past year and traveled between several countries. All of the airports we went through (in Johannesburg, Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe), we had to walk on the tarmac to embark and disembark and each time, we were escorted by airport workers for security reasons. The only thing "unique" about Harry and Meghan's security escort was that it was just the two of them on their flight, rather than the 30/40/50-person larger group most of us fly in. (In fact, the only airport where we didn't have to exit the facilities was Johannesburg when we arrived from the US and were departing back to the US.)

There was a lot of "they can't possibly be in Africa now because they're wearing summer clothes and it's winter!" commentary because in the pap pics, Meghan and Harry are in summery casual clothing - shorts, flip-flops, tank top/t-shirt. Botswana doesn't get winter the way we do; their winter feels more like our spring, with temperatures in the 50s/60s. Someone who was used to harsh Canadian winters, like Meghan was at the time, would have thought a Botswanan winter was absolutely balmy and would have been perfectly comfortable in a tank top and flip-flops.

4. what's an inside joke you have with your family or friends?

I have a few lol. One in my family is the one where my nana's Christmas presents are all hedgehog themed. This one came from the time my brother (preschool-age then) told our nana that she's as pretty as a hedgehog. Thus, hedgehog gifts.

One I have with my friends is "B, I'm breaking up with you!" said by A. A and B are best friends, and will never date (A is lesbian and B is non-binary). Half of their grade thought they were dating for a hot minute, which they both thought was hilarious. Anyways, in history one day, they were talking about Princess Diana and her influence, especially during the AIDS crisis. B said they didn't really care for the whole Princess Diana mystery, to which A turned around in her seat and said, "B, I'm breaking up with you!" This line has been used many times since, especially when B makes a particularly shitty joke lol.

15. what do you think of when you hear the word "home"?

I think of the people I care about the most. My nana, my little cousins (who are adorable btw), and my friends. We're hanging out, doing our own things. Parallel play type of thing. The kids are playing together, my Nana is knitting something while chatting with me and my friends, while my friends and I are doing whatever on our laptops (I'm writing and Tumblr-surfing alternately).

gone headcanons that have popped into my unhinged little brain, part 5 : colours edition

hey there besties it’s been long enough since the last hcs post so here’s another one (i promise the next one will be actual hcs). yesterday i asked on both instagram and tumblr what colours y’all associate w the characters bc i mentioned to me diana is a very red character so i thought i’d take a general consensus on the other characters and i got some really good answers so i thought i’d share ! i’ve compiled a few of my personal favourites that i feel are the most accurate, thank you to everyone who contributed ! <3

sam temple : light green

i think sam being light green was the colour most people saw him as (probably due to his power) but i did also see some ocean blue’s which i liked, but green is personally my favourite for sam

caine soren : navy blue

literally everyone agreed on either this or indigo which in my mind are the same thing. there was not a single other answer he IS navy blue.

astrid ellison : baby blue / cream

i did see a couple of other answers for this but i think these two sum her up the best in terms of her personality and characterisation

diana ladris : bright red / royal purple

as i said, i’ve always seen diana as a very red coded character but i did see a couple of purples and i raise you: royal purple, as she is named after a princess

drake merwin : blood red

i use to see him kind of green bc of his connection to the gaiaphage while completely neglecting how red he is. i’ve been a fool.

quinn gaither : sand

i didn’t get any answers for him but i’m glad for that bc i wouldn’t be able to see him as anything other than sand. any other answer would have been wrong

edilio escobar : burnt orange

i originally thought of him as a rich chocolate colour but a friend brought dark orange to my attention and now i believe it wholeheartedly. i look at that colour and see edilio.

brianna berenson : bright yellow / orange

brianna’s a very hyper, overbearing, in your face character so her having such an exuberant borderline obnoxious colour seems fitting

dekka talent : dark purple

i was actually stumped on dekka until i had a few people answer this so i thank you bc you’re so correct she is dark purple

lana arwen lazar : rust red

i don’t even have an explanation for this i just feel it in my bones. she is this.

mary terrafino : baby pink / dark pink

i think mary starts off the fayz a very light pink. a very feminine, childish pink. but as the series goes on and her mental state deteriorated, i think she shifts into more of a dark pink to signify her downward spiral

albert hillsborough : money green

come on. i don’t need to explain.

taylor : hot pink / gold

obviously i know people associate her w gold bc she turned gold blah blah blah but as a character she’s very hot pink. i imagine her very girly and gossipy and such before the fayz, very 13 year old girl ish so hot pink sums that up nicely

computer jack : silver

i had a few people answer this and i’ve honestly never thought about it before but you’re so right and you should say it

FAQ

How does this work?:

A bracket of up to sixty-four characters (that's our goal!) will be selected to compete. Each poll will run three days, giving you enough time to promote your faves, but not so long that this takes forever. The final result will decide tumblr's favorite fictional princess!

Why princesses?:

Because even though I'm staunchly anti-monarchy in reality, I do love a good princess character. Also because a lot of my personal favorite characters fall under this category.

Who can be nominated?:

Any fictional character that is or was a princess, or their society's equivalent of... for the most part, or who ends or starts the story as a princess*.

*I thought a lot about this, and I'm going to ask you all to use your discretion. Do you associate this character with being a princess? In my personal view, if we took the characters of Elsa and Anna from Frozen, I would nominate Anna and not Elsa, because although they both start the movies as princesses, and Anna does also end up a queen, she spends 90% of the films as a princess, whereas Elsa spends 90% of them as a queen.

But I'm not going to turn down your nominations because of my personal opinion. If they were or are a princess (and we actually see them as such in canon), they're eligible.

(My reason for using this as an example is because I thought most people would be familiar with it. Nominated media can be aimed at any target audience. I encourage stories of all kinds geared toward all age groups, nationalities, etc.)

Can I nominate real princesses?:

As much as I'd love to see you all write meta on like, Princess Diana's revenge dress, no. Let's leave real people out of this.

What about fictional versions of real princesses?:

HEAVILY fictionalized versions would be accepted (i.e. Anastasia from Fox or from Fate/Grand Order). Again please use your discretion. I'll let you know with plenty of time remaining if I'm unsure if they should be eligible, and you can convince me that I'm wrong.

This male character is called a princess. Can we nominate him?:

No, not in this particular bracket. Women (cis and trans) and femme presenting non-binary characters only, please. Male characters are heavily favored in fandom as is. You can find endless brackets to nominate your faves in already.

Also, I'm gay.

How many characters can I nominate?:

Up to ten. Characters will be decided by who is nominated the most. Don't let this discourage you from nominating obscure faves! You never know who else is out there (plus you can always ask your friends to help. I won't know. xp).

What's the schedule?:

Nominations run a week; 3/26-4/3. Polls will start 4/7. I'll put a detailed schedule in the bracket master post.

It's hard to find princess-y clip art and stuff that doesn't look girly. Princesses of all types are encouraged and loved though; femme, butch, gnc, and everything in between.
