Artist of the Moment: Mitski.
It really can only be one artist, and it can only be one woman: #mitski. Or indeed @mitskileaks, who has most graciously bestowed us with her seventh studio album, The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, on this blessed Friday, September 15, 2023. We had no choice—absolutely none at all—than to make this enigmatic, powerful songstress our Artist of the Moment.
And being our most esteemed AOTM, it comes with all the due privileges one may expect: we have some behind-the-scenes footage from the set of the “My Love Mine All Mine” music video, so check it out and listen to the new album right here. As it happens, the full music video did not drop until about, well, just now: 10 AM ET. So we gave fans *a very first look* into some of the behind-the-scenes footage from this special release. Watch the progression of Luke getting up out of his chair to lean forward, Ash unsure what to do as Luke is now in his way yet doesn’t say anything to him, Ash then having to lean forward, then ultimately they end up switching chairs, after Ash gives Luke his chair instead that’s when they move both chairs (they could’ve just done that in the first place, but Ash wanted to give Luke his chair 🥹😭❤️).
Then Luke saying this off the wall line at the very end. “yank the dank” 😂😭 Sir- Plz- Can’t bring him anywhere 😂

itzy trained as a group and they shine in that dynamic. whether it was lack of preparation/experience or just that they dont possess that kind of energy, they didn't do as well on their solo stages. i really love your honesty bc it doesnt feel malicious it just read as honest feedback. are there many idols who debuted 2018 onwards who you think do/would really thrive on a solo stage?
Ok. HEY! I tried to answer this a couple times but tumblr kept having issues saving the drafts 🙃. First off, thank you! I really don’t think they’re bad artists or anything, and I’m glad it came across as intended bc I really do love them 🖤
And as for what you said I agree 100%! They trained as a group, and have performed almost exclusively as a group. Even when any of the girls do something without each other (such as an awards show special stage or aotm) they’re usually in some sort of group.
Now. My answers are going to be biased. There are some people in groups that would qualify but I just don’t know them well enough for them to be mentioned here. My first thought was Jongho from Ateez. He’s already done a lot of stuff on his own (performing and appearing on shows) and has shown he’s comfortable that position (it looks like he even has an ost coming out!)
In terms of Ateez, Hongjoong is also similar, having a lot of experience and enough talent with performing/producing/writing on his own that he could 100% hold his own. I’m not sure how far he would venture out? But he has already released enough covers and seems to be interested in a slightly different style of music that he can’t really delve into with Ateez.
Yeonjun 100% has the star power and confidence to pull off a solo career. I can see him potentially going for one a little ways into txt’s career. Although HYBE isn’t really huge on robust solo careers it seems, not like SM, the fuckin Kings of solo careers.
Overall there’s quite a few 4th gens who have proven they can carry a solo stage.
