This is based off of what fandoms I know and which are rare to my knowledge.

The way Ormn whimpers that he was never the strong one if you suggest he go after Halsin himself, implies that he was likely a runt. And how genuinely miserable he is that Halsin is gone (to the point where the narrator describes him as "lonely" and "afraid") and how upset he is if the PC implies he's already dead, insisting that Halsin would never go off and never come back when he promised, even with all the monsters, implies that he is *very* attached to this elf, to the point of outsiders having the ability to read his miserable expression even if they can't talk to him.

Consider that Ormn was likely left behind by his mother, and Halsin hand raised and bottle fed the bear himself. Taught him to fish in bear form; tried to teach him to hunt, but Ormn never quite got the hang of it. Halsin jokes his first kid had fangs and fur. Just...Ormn imprinting on Halsin because he showed him care and consideration.
