Super Danganronpa Another 2, character tier ranking:
S Tier (I adore them) - Sora, Yoruko Kabuya, Mikado Sannoji, Kanade Otonokoji and Hibiki Otonokoji.
Sora is much more than just a gender-swapped Hajime Hinata or a compensation for the shafting Kaede Akamatsu got, she might just be the coolest, most driven, and most enjoyable main protagonist in any Danganronpa game, fan-made or official. Yoruko’s character development throughout the game was excellent, and her romantic relationship with Sora just beyond precious. Mikado, as the self-admitted mastermind in plain sight, is just all kinds of entertaining and way more efficient a villain and fully realized a character than some of the official canon antagonists. And the Otonokoji Twins strike an unthinkable balance of being very fun and endearing yet also some of THE most hauntingly disturbing and soul-crushingly tragic figures in Danganronpa history (if you played or seen it, you get it.)
A Tier (I love them) - Syobai Hashimoto, Iroha Nijiue, Nikei Yomiuri, and Yuki Maeda.
Syobai’s kind of like this game’s Byakuya Togami except that he takes that a step further by being an even more shamelessly awful human being who never becomes a true good guy of any sort even after all he’s done to help. Iroha can get a little too pitiful at points but is a very sympathetic and lovable character all the same. Nikei was a very effective antagonist and one of the game’s darkest and most intriguing characters the whole way through. And Yuki is sort of like Makoto Naegi but with the huge difference that he actually feels realistic, which serves to make him so much more interesting.
B Tier (I like them) - Monocrow, Utsuro, Shinji Kasai, Hajime Makunouchi, Setsuka Chiebukuro, and Emma Magorobi.
I know the whole point of Monocrow is that he’s low-key, bland and nonthreatening compared to Monokuma, but I just really like this poor birb - the constant disrespect and mistreatment he gets endears him to me. Utsuro was already the best part of Danganronpa Another, but in this game he got even better by having a Greater Scope Villain presence that completely spares us anymore Junko Enoshima bullshit! Shinji is a way better Big Bro than Kaito in V3, and Setsuka’s a great Big Sis character as well. And the first two Voids, while not as developed as the other two and Mikado, are still fine characters too.
C Tier (I think they’re OK) - Yuri Kagarin, Kokoro Mitsume, and Teruya Otori.
Yuri could be amusing but he also wore out his welcome pretty fast, and I think suddenly giving him such huge posthumous significance towards the end was unearned. Kokoro was alright for the most part, but she’s also the character who suffered the most from Linuj’s insistence on tying characters to the cast of his previous game. Teruya is also OK, but largely a different character from the Teruya of DRA, is very plot devicey due to his connection to the Kisaragi Foundation, and his role in Chapter 4 lost him a ton of respect points.
D Tier (I don’t care for them) - Rei Mekaru and Tsurugi Kinjou.
The Kisaragi Foundation was a lame Future Foundation ripoff concept to start with, and in this game it’s easily the link to the previous game that is handled the worst. The moment they enter the picture in Case 6, things just come to a grinding halt, and I’m sorry, but Rei and Tsurugi are both characters I do not give a fuck about.

His eyes where about the size of plates, seeing just what he had walked in on. His heart nearly stopping trying to configure out what he exactly had walked in on. It was not even earlier that they were smiling with a bubbly attitude.
“ Y - Yuki I.. “ They attempted to speak, the razor blade they were holding fell down to the ground. Shutting their eyes tightly as Yuki began approaching them. The next thing they knew was that they were suddenly hugged tightly. “ I’m so sorry.. that I.. that I didn’t know that you were suffering in silence.. “ His grip tightened on them just a bit. “ I’m so sorry.. I won’t let you suffer in silence anymore.. I promise. “
Teruya —
“ S - S/ O..? “
Tears were already filling into his green eyes. Someone had grown to love was hurting themselves? He had no idea way, nor possibly able to wrap his mind around it. He hurried over to them, falling onto his knees trying to hold his tears back. Ultimately his seemed to start falling as he hugged himself. “ I-I’m sorry... “
His S/O’s eyes widened dropping the sharp object, onto the ground. Not even a moment later, Teruya had latched onto them. Sobbing into their shoulder, they felt so guilty just seeing him cry it hurt their heart. “ Please don’t apologize, Ruya it isn’t your fault.. “ Gently they would run a hand through the merchant’s hair. “ It is! If I didn’t notice how sad you were! I - I didn’t see it and you were suffering like this. I’m so sorry! “ He cried out, looking up at them.
With the arm wrapped around the smaller, they would squeeze him a bit. “ It’s not your fault..it’s personal reasons, Ruya..I just. “ They spoke, their own voice becoming shaky. “ It’s hard to t - talk about it.. I’m just so used to taking it out on myself that when I get..really down I do that.. “
“ I don’t want you sad anymore..I want you to be happy and smiling bright.. “ Teruya said his tears seeming to stop, as he looked up at them. “ Ruya it’s not tha- “ They we’re cut off moments later by him. “ I know it’s going to be hard, b - but I don’t want to see you hurt yourself again. You mean so much to me..so I will do everything in my power to help. I swear it, S/O. “
Kinji —
“ Dearest..? What are you doing..? “
Kinji not once had expected to see his S/O in such a state. They were always so cheerful, but here they were harming themselves? He could hardly believe it, but it was indeed reality.
“ I wasn’t — I was, um. “ They attempted to try and make some sort of excuse, but nothing came out. It was only pointless stumbling over their words. “ Why didn’t you tell me you were in such pain? “ The priest asked, making his way over to them. Crouching down to their height gently prying the knife out of their hands. “ Please wait right here.. I’m going to get bandages for your wounds. “ He said, heading into the bathroom for the briefest of moments returning with bandages. Carefully taking the bleeding wrist into his hands and began to wrap it. “ It happened many times..hasn’t it. “ He spoke softly, looking over at the various scars before looking up at them. Who meekly nodding their head in response, “ I’m sorry, Kinji.. “
The priest shook his head, placing the bandages down and pulled them into a gentle embrace. “ Please forgive me, for I didn’t have the slightest clue you were..in this state. I should have looked closer.. “ His normal calm composure was faltering no matter how hard he was trying to keep it up. Resting his head on top of theirs, while rubbing small circles on them for comfort. “ I will say this..please come to me, if you ever feel like this again. No matter what i’m doing, I will drop it and help you. I love you..I only want what’s best for you. Because you mean so much to me, S/O. I want you to be happy.. “
Haruhiko —
“ Hey! Hey! Guess what I just.. h — hey why are you crying.. ! “
Haruhiko pulled them into a loving hug holding them tightly to himself. Never would he had to imagine that he would find you in this state. He never saw this side of you, that he didn’t know what to do..what to say. He only knew to hold you close, as if he was trying to protect you from the world.
Sobs came from S/O as they held him tightly. Haruhiko was like a lifeline to them, he meant so much to them. “ I..might not know what’s gotten you so down..or what made you cry. But I want you to know that I’m here for you, forever and always. I’ll always be by your side, because I love you. “ Leaning down, he would gently place a kiss onto their head. Then return to just holding them tightly.
Mitsuhiro —
“ Yo! Babe! You’ll never guess what happened! What’s the matter..? You’re not your usual self. “
Mitch was dense, that much was easy to tell from the start. Even so, even he could notice that S/O wasn’t okay. Just by how they were acting, they were usually so bright and energetic. But right now they were just the opposite of that, looking like the life was sucked out of them.
Aside from the fact that he barged into the room. Placing his soccer ball down on the floor and walking over he sat down near them on the bed. “ You can talk to me, y’know? I’m here for ya, you’re my number one! “ Placing a hand down onto their head. Which caused them to look up at him their silence remaining. He would flash them a slight smile. “ I know exactly what would cheer you up! Watching a good movie and cuddling. “
“ I might not know exactly what’s going on, or what’s gotten you down. But i’m here for you, just say the word and I’ll take care of it! I love ya after all! “
Tsurugi —
“ Please don’t cry.. “
Tsurugi was at a loss, he was never good with emotions. Albeit his own, or someone else. That feeling only seemed to amplified when he saw them crying.
Instead of using words, he was going to use actions. Reaching out a hand, he would gently hold their hands. “ I’m so s - stupid and nothing but a burden for you! You would be better off with something e - else ..! Someone who doesn’t cause problems wherever they go! “ S/O suddenly yelled.
Tsurugi’s eyes widened, was that how they really felt about themselves? Shaking his head, he would use his other hand that was currently free to start wiping the tears away. “ Do you truly think that..? That I could be better off with someone else? I’d have to disagree with you, S/O. You’re the only person for me, you aren’t a burden for me in the slightest. If you were, then I wouldn’t be with you. You can stupid sometimes, but that’s what I love about you. You’re so carefree and kind to everyone, regardless of who they are. You’re the only person for me, and I love you for you. Always remember that. “
Kakeru —
“ Please, tell me the truth.. “
Kakeru had no clue about the scars, due to his S/O hiding them from him. It was a fateful mistake that they accidentally revealed them. Which lead to a concerned boyfriend.
“ They’re just old cuts, I was really clumsy as a kid, Kakeru. They’re nothing serious. “ They tried for laugh it off, like it wasn’t anything important but Kakeru didn’t seem to buy it, not one bit. Being a lawyer really did have its perks sometimes, he was able to see through the lies. “ Please tell me the truth.. I’m not going to judge you.. I want you because I care about you. “
“ ..I hurt myself. I’m just so used to it at this point that it doesn’t even bother me anymore. “ It broke Kakeru’s heart to heart that. So much so that S/O couldn’t look him in eyes after they said that. How could they? They were ashamed of themselves. “ ...S/O. I’m not mad at you..I’m sorry I wasn’t able to help you at your lowest moments. That won’t happen anymore, from this point onward, I’ll always be here if you need someone to talk to, or you get the urge to..to do that again. You mean the world to me. “

You’re fine, I’m sorry for the delay. I sort of did a mixture of both, c//tting and depressive episode. Along with if they’re a bit, Ooc. I haven’t been feeling all that great personally.
