okay everyone buckledown this is gonna be a word vomit of haikyuu headcanon

anyway I know the mom-dad haikyuu jokes are over and nobody likes them BUT in the event of a divorce/breakup/fight I believe with full conviction that Hinata, Yamaguchi, and Kageyama would all immediately take Suga's side. I dont think they even need context. Suga's their boy. Their main man. Their icon. Of course they're on his side.

On the other hand and with absolutely minimal justification I feel with 100% certainty that Tsukishima would stand behind Daichi with complete conviction. Bitch wouldn't even hesitate. Yamaguchi would be so betrayed and Tsukishima wouldnt even pretend to reconsider. Do I also believe that Tsukki and Daichi temporarily becoming close friends would unlock some hidden bitch power Karasuno has yet to see? absolutely. this would be a terror on everyone. Do I think this is also because Tsukishima has a bunch of unaddressed little sibling emotions thats constantly craving the approval of his brother and Daichi just has the perfect older brother volleyball demeanour that Suga just cant quite match? Absolutely. Daichi said he knows Tsukki has potential once and Tsukishima's gremlin baby brother brain decided all he cared about was getting more praise. Bitch is ride or die for no reason except for that Akiteru is away at college and he has no way of dealing with that.

If you're wondering what everyone else is doing, the second years all unanimously take Asahi's side, which is sort of like declining going with either mom or dad in favour of child protective services but to each their own. Maybe it's the right call.

Anyway whatever the fight is about it only lasts 1.5 weeks and does more damage to the interpersonal relationships of the first years than Daichi and Suga. Tsukishima wishes they'd start fighting again because Daichi isnt giving him that much attention anymore.
