Infant Update Rant

I get the complaints that everyone has, like its completely valid to want a changing table and infant interactions in the base game. Its fine to think that the entire growing together update should have been a free, base game, quality of life update, and it’s even more valid to say that the sims is broken, half-assed, and EA is just using the fan base for cash grabs. ALL of that is valid and I feel the exact same way. But what I DO NOT agree with is continuously giving EA money despite every simmer I’ve come across agreeing that EA is charging money for a broken game with over-priced packs that are glitchy and boring.

When are we as a community going to hold ourselves accountable for the part we play in EA trashing The Sims? Of course at first it wasn’t anyone’s fault for spending money on a game from a series they loved, and even a couple expansion packs, but this game has been out since like 2014(?) and I don’t think I’ve heard of a single pack that people don’t complain about. I haven’t heard of a single update where people felt EA actually addressed the issues and fixed the problems ppl were having. I rarely see people who are actually satisfied with the game- packs and kits included- but anytime someone gives them the option of not spending money on something broken they flat out refuse.

EA has been releasing broken packs for the sims for years. We know the quality of the content they plan to put out but people still preorder the games directly from EA just to complain about them. I understand wanting your money’s worth but I don’t think ppl understand these big corporations aren’t going to waste money fixing something that the majority will buy broken. There are too many alternatives to buying directly from EA for this to still be happening. There are websites that resell the games (usually cheaper than EA), hell you can even pirate the packs if you want to since there’s no known penalty for that. We as simmers have to stop ignoring reality and accept the fact that EA makes money off the fact that most of our community won’t put their foot down and everyone seems okay with that so plz stop flooding every sims content with complaints about things we aren’t going to put pressure behind.

Does anybody have links to sims discord servers? i can’t find any more other than teddysims ( which im in and love <3 ). I’ve seen a lot of talk about sims discords where paywalled cc is shared and where people help with WCIF and editing etc etc and i can’t find where these magical places are.

Okay, since EA did a small update, I had to go back and fix my girl, Naleisa, back up to perfection (her update is on the right). I was using Prailinesims Tender Skin because that’s my usual go-to, but switched to JaySims’ Melanated Women Skin instead. Both are pretty awesome, actually! Neither better or worse than the other. I just like that JaySims skin really makes Naleisa’s skin pop when using FamSimsss reshade for screenshots.

And yes, ahaha I’ve got her in EA clothes. I haven’t been up on my ish with finding appropriate clothes, yet. Work has me by the throat frfr.

oh hello!!

i’m daisy and this is my lil sims space! i used to be on simblr all the time a few years ago but then i stopped. i’ve come back hoping the wonderful community is still here cause i really need some people to chat to about the sims :’)

this is my lil simself, she’s pretty cute i think! I thought i’d introduce myself so people know a bit more about me before i join the community!

i have been playing the sims for about 11-12 years. I am a lover of family gameplay and challenges. i use maxis match cc and love to create sims that look cute and colourful (although recently my sims have been wearing real neutral outfits, maybe the lack of sunlight is dimming my colourfulness xD)

other than the sims, i enjoy reading and baking. i also have a goat, but they dont have goats in the sims (biggest downside of the game BY FAR) so just imagine the lad.

i dont have much to say about myself but I just wanted to say hello! im here! please love me :)
