Philippines Fashion Style Lookbook I

In which Ai learns how to use GIMP to actually edit her lookbooks for once. (Ｔ▽Ｔ) This is my first time making an edit like this so apologies if it's very rough around the edges

First off, thanks to @itselliandra for her wonderful and absolutely amazing tutorial vid for showing me how to do all this! Which I wouldn't have found in the first place without browsing through @emmastillsims' beautiful lookbooks as well! ⁽⁽ଘ( ˊωˋ )ଓ⁾⁾

So, about this lookbook! For those that don't know, I'm a Filipino, and have lived in the Philippines pretty much my entire life! I wanted to share what kinds of styles and fashions were what I usually saw when traveling, going out, etc. ╰(⸝⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝⸝)╯

In the Philippines we definitely dress for the weather! It's usually hot and damp! Hence the more loose, showy, and flowy clothing!

From left to right, the styles in this lookbook are:

Hubadera - Coming from the Tagalog word "Hubad" which means bare or naked, this is a fashion style that emphasizes showing a lot of skin and feeling sexy. Think your Sim has the guts to pull off the hubadera lifestyle?

Basic - Simple and stylish! Beat the Filipino heat with a simple dress and light accessories to match. Whether going to the mall to hang out with friends, or meeting up with classmates for a group activity, sometimes basic is best!

Acubi - Minimalist and trendy, Acubi is a style that's in-between Y2K, minimalist and subversive. My sibling loves wearing this style and they were the one who suggested I include it! It apparently originates from Korea, and if there's one thing I know, it's that we Filipinos love all things Korean.

Tita of Manila - Literally meaning "Aunt/Auntie of Manila". With her designer bags (Whether they are real or secondhands she bought from an ukay-ukay is up for you to decide), expensive jewelry, and taste for wine and tea, the tita is a matron of class and privilege. Don't let her looks fool you, she can be as witty and as sharp as she needs to be!

🌻Himari Kosaka🌻

Himari moved from Mt. Komorebi to San Myshuno in order pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer; the colorful styles exhibited by the likes of Diego Lobo and Penny Pizzazz have always inspired her. Gifted with an eye for aesthetics and design, Himari's path to success seems straightforward...were it not for her crippling shyness working against her.

Aaaaaaaaa, I did it! I actually completed a makeover of a pre-made Sim!! And she turned out great!!!! The only thing I changed is her outfits, her makeup, and her hair; her body, facial structure, eyes, skin tone were untouched! 🇬🇧 SWINGING SIXTIES

"Groovy, mod, colorful." (This song was legit stuck in my head the entire time I was creating these models.)

Unexpectedly, a 1960's-inspired lookbook! This one was something of a passion project. ( ‾́ ◡ ‾́ )

My main inspiration being this wonderful piece of artwork! You can see that for the "Cosmo-Corps Style" and "Psychedelic" outfits I had to get creative. ( ╥ω╥ )

#3 in my ongoing quest to makeover the CAS pre-made sims! <3 Carly was made using the wonderful Kat Jenkins as her base! No changes were made to her body, facial structure, weight, etc. Her official biography made her out to be a hopeless romantic, and I zeroed in on that idea; hence what's more hopelessly romantic than the aesthetic of lovecore/cupidcore! (´♡‿♡`)

Making her was a lot of fun, but there were some troubles I encountered; namely her huge boobs proved to be something of a challenge. (//ω//) I wanted to use a shoulder-slung purses and bags on her but they would clip often because of her breasts or her thick body, which was a shame--plus size Sims need love too!

If there could only be one word to describe Azure, it would most certainly be "perky". A ray of sunshine towards everyone they meet, Azure likes to spend their days streaming video games and watching reruns of the Voidcritter anime.

Mariam Roe - Grungy Teen with Werewolf Jeans Genes

A rebellious teen with a penchant for rock music, Mariam loves her father dearly but hates the fact he seems to not see her dream of becoming a musician a worthy goal. Toeing the line between brave and foolhardy, Mariam is stuck between her desire to make her father proud of her and achieving her aspirations of stardom.

Azure's Party Outfits

AKA: Idek if these outfits are "party" appropriate anymore

Party outfits, but also possibly scrapped casual/everyday outfits. Admittedly, I was a bit stumped for ideas when it came to outfits 3 and 4, but I think they came out well in the end! (⁀ᗢ⁀) Bears and cats were the theme I went for, and no I swear that wasn't intentional. (ㅇㅅㅇ) ʕ – ᴥ – ʔ What was intentional was me trying to put Azure in a dress and shorts, I wanted some variety and not just have them be in skirts all the time! This may possibly be the last Azure lookbook I post? I don't think sharing their other outfits are worthwhile lol, I'll be moving on to other lookbook projects I have in the backburner As well as trying to put a contrast and juxtaposition in sexy and cute. Nikko's about as geeky as you could get. Anime? Video games? Voidcritters? Obscure visual novels region-locked to Mt. Komorebi without a Simlish patch in sight? Natch. Moving to San Myshuno just made sense to him; Easy access to GeekCon was one thing, but a fresh, new environment was an added bonus! Recently he put out an ad for a roommate, which was answered soon enough. "Don't care if this is my worst mistake." One look at Nikko's sister makes many wonder how the two could ever possibly be related, but Mila just shrugs it all off. Her little brother was the one who urged they move to San Myshuno, and while she would've preferred Del Sol Valley, she's not complaining about living in the Fashion District. Mila loves her baby brother, but wishes he shared her ambition and drive for greater things. With an ever-growing fan base in Simstagram and Trendi, Mila dreams of one day having her own star in Starlight Boulevard.

Yes, she's based off of the Zodiac Girlz' Taurus. Reference pic here if you guys want to see how she originally looks like. And this idea was spurred on by this lovely video by Li Speaks over on YouTube!

I'm not actually a Taurus, I'm a Cancer, but Taurus had one of my more favorite designs of the girls. I might do the other girls in the future, but I did this lookbook on a whim.
