Ophelia - A GShade Preset

Hi! I decided to return to content making by releasing a reshade! This one has been in the works since January and it started out as a 3.0.8 preset but I couldn't figure out how I wanted it and then life happened so unfortunately Ophelia was shelved. And now it's back! Using the same preset as 3.0.8, Ophelia for GShade was born :)

This is a GShade preset, unknown if it works for Reshade versions.

Hello! Love your builds. Wondering where I could find the chandelier from this post, and/or any other cc lighting recommendations you have?

This is probably my weakest part as I have quite a few lighting mods. I usually use the same lamps/candelabras/chandeliers from Felixandresims and TheJim07, which I always try to replace with something more interesting. So I myself am always in search of new beautiful lamps. The chandelier on the screen is from this set by DoroCash.

ON TRACK INDUSTRIAL LIGHTS in 2 palettes by amoebae

These are my favourite ceiling lights, they're just so cool. Again we find ourselves asking why on earth it took this long to recolour them.

They come in Image Spectra and Dream Pop, in all 3 lengths.

Thing about this light is it doesn't illuminate from above, so the colours always look dark. It's fine in this shot above because the sun was shining directly on it, but in any other lighting, and at night, so so dark. A handy thing I found was to take the small saucer ceiling light, size it down once with the bracket key, and hide it in the ceiling fastening for this light. You can adjust both lights to suit (so the room doesn't get too bright), and it helps illuminate the industrial light so you can see those lovely colours!

So, you want to completely overhaul the lighting of your sims game? I can help with that!

IMPORTANT: Multiple of the same lighting mods can conflict and may not work in game. Please follow each creator’s installation instructions in order to not break your game!

Hi! In my efforts to create a preset for every occasion, create a sim was the one I got a little excited about, who doesn't love a good cas preset? There aren't really many color changes to this one, it's just a slight enhancement of what's already there.

Sometimes your sims need light that isn't dependent on electricity. These old-timey lamps run on oil instead.

I frankenmeshed this particular project from four different EA objects (one of them just for the knob) and then had to do it again to straighten out the mesh. Still, I'm quite pleased with how it came out. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get the reflector on the back to work, and I thought it important to include one.

Much like the close stools I made last year, this particular project is based on actual historical lights and lighting principles.

Although oil-fueled lights are ancient in their use, this particular conception is in line with Georgian-Victorian lights. In England, oil lights began to replace candles for those of means during the later part of the eighteenth century. Like the glass chimneys, the metal of the lamp and reflectors on the back help amplify the light and reflect it about the room. These sorts of design choices were necessary before the brighter gas lights slowly began making their way into homes beginning in the 1840s. Unfortunately oil lamps produced soot, which showed up easily on the light shades of Georgian interiors, hence the Victorian preference for darker wallpapers.

Originally I was just going to do natural metal colors, and then I decided that it would be fun to have a bunch of colorful versions as well. So some swatches are more historical than others.

This particular lamp also has a bit of a quirk that I chose not to resolve because I was amused by it. Although it's meant as a wall lamp, it can fit in slots on tables. So if you want it to just sit around because someone was too lazy to install it properly, or if you want it to be sitting around waiting to be 'fixed', that can be done. It probably wouldn't actually balance like that... but it's fine.

Base Game Compatible and works Off the Grid. Comes in 35 swatches, some of which are in compatible shades to @anachrosims Gorgeous Georgians set.
