Struggle-La Lucha statement
The public hearings of the House Committee to Investigate the Jan. 6 Attack have dramatically confirmed that Donald Trump, former president of the United States, attempted a coup d’état. This is unprecedented. An overt coup attempt has not happened in any of the imperialist powers in the last century and exposes the bare threads of democracy in the U.S. The coup attempt also revealed the sharp instability in the U.S. ruling class.
The House hearings, however, conceal more than they reveal.

hello!!! i used to use twitter to promote my blog + stuff but i feel like it’s kinda a bit icky to use twitter now considering there’s an unethical billionaire with the aim of creating a nightmare digital autocracy built on control with a sprinkling of complete chaos??? i feel like it’s just not my ✨thing✨ and i’d like to just show my support for twitter employees whose lives are basically becoming really difficult owing to this dude.
also character limits basically don’t exist here so woo
anyways i don’t know if people are actually gonna read this post or if i’m kinda just talking to myself but i run a fun little blog where i talk about politics and human rights and diplomacy and basically just rant about my beliefs and views, i don’t wanna link my blog just yet bc i feel like if no one’s gonna read it there’s no point but yeah, i’m joining tumblr and hoping it’s a bit of fun and maybe a chance to get more visibility :D
writing this was scarier than i thought it would be haha

Not everyone who rejects some aspects of leftist politics is a conservative. Not everyone who rejects the right wing buys into every aspect of the left. If not being "them" defines you, THEY define you, through assimilation or by pushing you diametrically away rather than in the direction of true self determination.
The worse they are, from the fundamentalist religious to political extremists, the more entrenched you become. Opposition to extremism and blind self righteousness cannot truly be opposition if it is equally extreme, blind, and self righteous.
They are adept at harping on base level negative generalizations to drive their targets into the ground and work their followers into a potentially violent frenzy. Ashcroft said about the war in Iraq that we all have to be in "lock-step." That term always reminded me of goose stepping. Moral concepts, ideologies, and supposed truths are being hurled around in anger and people are shooting from the hip in their judgment of enemies. I've always been too much of a loner and a free thinker to sign up with anyone's team.

The Trump conundrum.
Let me start off with, I felt the bern. I was an early Bernie Sanders supporter even though I don't agree with half the shit the man says. For me it was all about income inequality and not understanding the justification for one man's schmoozing to be worth so much more than another man's daily labor and commitment. I also felt the burn, as I watched a completely corrupt governmental system dictate who the candidate for presidency for one of two applicable parties would be. But I'm not here to rant about the fallacies of our systems in regards to voting or voter representation. I'm here to rant about Mr trumple thin skin. A man I loathed long before he applied for office. A man that I loathed as he ran for office. A man I loath right now... But a man I also find myself having to have empathy for. Because right now he and his family are being chastised and prosecuted for something that every political family does. It's a known fact that our political system is corrupt. It's a known fact that it is completely legal for lobbyists to lobby for their cause (wine, dying, donate). Just like we all know it's illegal for politicians to receive gifts outside of disclosed campaign endorsements. But we also all know that they all do. Just like we all know there's no reason Nancy pelosi has the successful trading history that she does without market manipulation and insider trading. That all being said, I hate you Donald Trump. But I don't understand why you're the only one being prosecuted for these crimes. And although my opinion may be conceived as baseless allegations, I believe that the available evidence will show that corruption regarding charities far extends beyond the Trump organization. In fact I believe it would be naive to assume otherwise. It is Sam bankman-fried is going down for a childishly gross misappropriation of funds, there are many well-established and fully functioning money laundering facilities in regards to charities. So I'm sorry Mr thin skin. I'm sorry you're being singled out. I hope if you're going to go down you take as many of these cocksuckers with you as you can. Except I know that you can't. They'll just kill your whole fucking family. So good luck. And I'm sorry. And I hate you. God bless.

"Rhodes, who wears an eye patch after accidentally shooting himself in the face with his own gun, is one of the most prominent defendants of the roughly 900 charged over the attack." My man just got convicted of things that will 100% cause him to die in prison and they're dunking on him. Sublime.

What Can US Democracy Learn From Brazil?
The run-ups to the most recent presidential elections in the Western Hemisphere’s two largest democracies were similar.
Both nations had presidents who attacked their elections. But the outcomes have been drastically different.
