You are not what happened to you. You didn't deserve to go through all that. You deserved to be loved, to feel safe, to be safe. You deserved kindness. Patience. You deserved better.

Fat people deserve to enjoy feasting holidays just as much as thin people.
Fat people, eat what you want today. Allow yourself a second plate. Take home leftovers. Don't force yourself to be last in line for food. Shut down diet and weight talk. Tell the people who try to start it that it makes you uncomfortable. Wear what you like to dinner. Enjoy dessert. Do not tell yourself to "make up" for this meal tomorrow.
You are inherently allowed and deserve to eat food because you are a living, breathing human being, and no one can take that away from you. Anyone who says otherwise about you and your right to nourish yourself is valuing thinness over your literal survival needs. Their opinion is trash and should be thrown out with the rest of the garbage.
Stay strong today. The diet culture and fatphobic talk will be in full force, but you are stronger, and your needs are more important than the bigoted opinions of judgemental friends or family members.
You've got this.

affirmations for inner child healing and supporting your adult self 💗✍🏼✨
I am no longer responsible for my parents or their happiness
I am fully capable of surviving and thriving without my parents
I am no longer waiting for my parents to change or give me the love, support or care I desire
I am releasing all the expectations of my parents to be someone they’re not
I am accepting my parents exactly as they are and that they give me all they’re capable of giving
I appreciate the love and support my parents give me in their own way
I am responsible to give myself the love, care and support I desire and need
I am committed to fulfill my needs and love myself unconditionally exactly as I am
I am responsible for my life, happiness and healing
I am fully capable of supporting and being there for myself

here’s to all the people who have trauma that would be ‘silly’ to anyone over the age, of like, 10. There’s not a set number here.
to everyone who has a legitimate trauma response, even disorders like PTSD, from something as simple as a bee sting or getting lost in the super market one time.
it may seem dumb. something that isn’t ‘real trauma.’ but it effected you just the same! and that’s okay! you’re completely right to be impacted by it, even if it’s ‘small’.
you might’ve been young. (too young to have a decent grasp of what was scary or not.) you might’ve already been a victim of trauma, and develop more easier than others. maybe it was some other thing.
everyone’s brains works differently. if that means developing trauma easier, then that’s that. you shouldn’t feel ashamed or like you don’t need help because of it. you aren’t alone. there are people out there who will listen. I promise.

After you leave a toxic or abusive environment, a lot of normal things are going to feel weird, and just plainly awful at the beginning. Buying that thing you've always wanted can make you feel guilty for spending money on yourself. Resting can feel a lot more like being lazy. Safety and happiness can feel so temporary, almost like you are just waiting for life to get bad again.
It's normal, it's part of the process. You will get used to be at peace. To feel joy. To be safe. I know you will<3
