I’m not exaggerating when I say this post changed my life. Seeing this as a terrified self hating 17 year old was like finding a fresh water lake in the middle of the Sahara.

To any Transmascs questioning if they're even Transmasc because of how "feminine" you present yourself, let me remind you
💄Men from various cultures have worn makeup for centuries
🩷Pink was once considered a masculine color
👠Heels were originally made for men
👗Men centuries ago use to wear tights, skirts, wigs, and dresses
💅🏾 Modern nail polish and acrylic nails were both invented by men.
Just because you're not fitting society's standards of what is considered masculine nowadays doesn't mean you're less masculine or not masculine at all.

Not every Trans person wants to pass.
Not every Trans person wants HRT.
Not every Trans person wants gender affirming surgeries.
Not every Trans person uses the pronouns society assigns to their gender.
Trans folks are not a monolith.

my family started complaining about today being trans visibility day, because today is easter and supposed to be to "worship the Lord not celebrate the sinners"
My grandma turned to me and said "I hope your happy" in a really ominous voice and then started fake crying while eating her eggs

Okay, so let’s get this straight
This is a single comment Matt got, literally once, that almost immediately, and when I say immediately I mean immediately, triggered the ban of a trans woman:
And this is what trans people here on tumblr get in just a few hours that takes tumblr staff days and/or weeks, maybe never, to actually take action on, meanwhile in that timeframe these people are still allowed to post and harass trans people as much as they please:
Does this seem fair? At all? This doesn’t seem very queer friendly for “the queerest place on the internet”
Why does the cis white dude get special privileges when someone simply makes fun of him for being a bad ceo, but trans people who are actively being harassed, getting death and harm threats, told to kill themselves, etc. literally have to beg for staff to do something
What’s up with that, @staff? Why do I have to beg to be protected and to have other trans individuals protected by staff when that’s literally your job? I have to beg while these people get to do whatever they want because you never actually do anything about it? That your ceo gets special little boy privilege and can have whoever he wants banned whenever he wants? Why aren’t you doing what you’re supposed to?

Trans History! - Alan L. Hart
It's Trans Awareness Month and Trans Awareness Week! ✨🎉
So to celebrate, let's look at some historical trans and gender-non-conforming people! Starting with Alan L. Hart, a trans man, medical pioneer and writer.
Whilst words like 'transgender' and 'non-binary' etc, have only been in the public lexicon in recent decades, the experiences and identities they represent have always existed and it's so important (and interesting!) that we look at these historic figures as proof that queer, has always been here. I have a couple more people for these posts lined up, but if you have any other historic figures you'd like me to research and illustrate, please sound off in the comments!
